I have officially completed the weight loss ⛰️ mountain! I am weighing in at 311.8, which is the lowest weight I have been since 2016. It’s honestly hard to believe… I thought I’d have my own episode on #my600lblife on @tlc before I’d ever be under 300lbs… but I’m only 12lbs away! I still have a long ways to go but this is a pretty big achievement for this guy. . .. ... .... ..... ....... #weightloss #diet #countingcalories #loseit #mounjaro #loseweight #caloriedeficit #nutrition #macrotracking #weightlossjourney #sustainableweightloss https://www.instagram.com/p/CpTqhVkL0lZ/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

i miss gym culture.
i know ppl say gym culture is basically as toxic and the same as diet culture, but i loved it.
i loved weightlifting and trying to improve my lifts. i love the macrotracking and meal planning. i loved trying new supplements and being excited for a new pre-workout or recovery drink. i loved finding new workouts. i loved allowing myself to eat and making food that gave me energy. i got excited to be off work bc it meant i could go lift something. it was fun, i enjoyed and looked forward to it, and it gave me goals to attain.
but i didnt get the results i wanted. i wanted a muscular, lean physique. instead i just got a lot more body fat, and while i did get stronger, i HATED how i looked...no matter what i did, in the year i spent devoting myself to lifting and nutrition, i just got fatter. my clothes didnt fit right, everything felt too tight even if it was the right size. i felt too big all the time. people looked at me sideways when i said i worked out, like it was too hard to believe. i felt so ugly.
but im miserable relapsing too. i miss having something to look forward to that was fun and challenging. i miss putting meals together. i still feel like i look huge now but the scale goes down and my clothes are getting smaller so at least theree evidence im smaller. my 5 - 8 mile walks aren't as fun as lifting was. i have one small meal, if anything, and it's usually less than 500 cals if even that.
i wish i had an answer for why what i was doing didnt work so id know what to change, but no matter what i did, nothing worked, i never saw the lean body i was trying to carve, i just got bigger and the scale only went up.

If you are new to macros, figuring out how to hit your macro goals can be a bit like playing a game of Tetris... but knowing your health carb, protein, and fat choices is a bit like being able to pick which shape Tetris piece is being thrown at you. - If you are completely new to calories and macros, I recommend taking it one step at a time. Focus on hitting your calorie goal first, then work on hitting your protein goal, then carbs and fat. Breaking it down will help it feel less overwhelming. - Getting to know what foods are highest in protein, carbs and fats will also be helpful along the way. - So here are some healthy carb sources for you. - I also made a protein source post a few posts back if you want to check that out. 😁 - Oh and in case you were wondering: No, carbs do not make you fat. Eating too much of anything can lead to weight gain. Balance is key. - #macros #macrotracking #nutrition #food #carbs #carbohydrates #potato #weightloss #fatloss #health #keto #lowcarb #muscle #diet #exercise #workout #carbsarenottheenemy https://www.instagram.com/p/CIlsnLdsUVO/?igshid=utwzwnyaqx89

Not the most visual appealing, but it's filling and macro friendly so 🤷‍♀️ I would normally add some cottage cheese and some kind of green veggie (Spinach or broccoli are my personal faves).
40g Quaker to old fashioned oats - 150 cals
2 large white eggs - 140 cals
Sugar free redbull (not pictured) - 10 cals
29C 13F 17P 300 calories

I crave 😍 grilled or caramelized onions lately. I've never liked onion before, and still don't like it raw, but I've had 3 omelets and 2 (bunless) burgers with grilled onions in the last few weeks. 🤔🤷‍♀️
So I picked up some frozen chopped onions at the store to cook with at home. 🛒 This is pictsweet farms brand (a favorite)...
Super convenient as I don't cook often and I'm cooking for one - so I don't have to worry about a whole onion going bad before I use it all. ✔
And can portion this out by the tbsp (although I personally will weigh it in grams, because that's more accurate).
🧮 One serving is 2/3 cup, or 85 grams. That equals 10.667 tbsps.
So a tbsp is approximately 8 grams and 0.6 net carbs (or 0.7 total carbs). 🧄 And a lot of yummy flavor! ❣
Here's how I did the math on this to log it correctly in Myfitnesspal...

Meet: @fitbyfitzroy I was always overweight. My entire life, I was someone who dealt w/ the many ailments being obese; not being able to tie my shoe, sweating no matter the weather, not liking my pic taken.. etc I hated myself and it affected every facet of my life. I didn't have any direction in life, depression consumed me & to be honest, if I didn't wake up on any given day, I would've been okay. One night of Taco Bell changed everything. Spent $16 on food!!! I drove home, finishing it all before I got home. Ashamed, I threw the bag away outside so no one would see. When I got home...I ate the dinner that was on the stove. I began to think about everything my life had amounted to. It seemed like nothing. My life had amounted to nothing. And I was tired of it. That night, everything clicked, I knew that I had to make a change. I was 350 lbs and was heading nowhere. That next day I woke up and drove to the gym that I had been lying to myself about joining for the last year. Walked inside, afraid & anxious and signed up. From that point on, everything changed. I changed my diet, habits and ultimately that changing the way I looked at life. No longer was everything dark and cloudy, I started to have a purpose in life which made me want to get out of bed each and every day. I didn't lay around anymore and do nothing for 12 hours a day. I got up everyday and worked until I had lost 133 lbs. At 215 lbs, I’m a different person. My page shows others that things can be different for them as well. You don't have to dislike yourself infront of a mirror. There are many joyous things about life & beginning a path towards health in all aspects of life can help you achieve that. STARTING TIP: Cutting out calories from liquids, you don't realize how much you consume from drinking. . . 🌴 Wlstories Florida Meetup!! Aug 24th Tampa!! I prefer morning workouts because they set a great tone for my day and are one less thing to stress about getting done.....especially because most days I'm going from work to class. So it makes my life a lot easier to get it done first thing. But some days your body just says NOPE and you either skip it for that day or get it done later in the day or after work. And that's perfectly okay. Taking care of you and listening to your body will do you a lot of good in the long run. Don't stress yourself if you have to skip a day, workout later, do a different workout etc. You are still allowed to eat. You don't need to earn your food. Walking is still exercise. And listening to your body is important. . . . #fasting #fastercoach #fasterwaytofatloss #intermittentfasting #trackyourintake #macrotracking #fitnesstrainer #fitnessmotivation #personalgrowth #hardwork #lifestylechange #healthylifestyle (at Harford County, Maryland) https://www.instagram.com/p/CeevFs-OVF5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Sugar can rob you of critical nutrients. Why do we think it’s ok for kids to eat sugar without consequences? “Just let them be kids” and eat cereal for breakfast isn’t a healthy way to start their day... When you eat sugar, you create a sequence of metabolic pathways that requires the body to use up more of its resources. #sugarfreekids #sugarfreekidscookbook #sugarfreelife #ketokids #mariaemmerich #mariaemmerichrecipes Repost from @ mariaemmerich . Food tracking is like Marmite - you either love it or hate it. I personally track my meals because it gives me an awareness of my daily macro-nutrient intake that I just don't get from eyeballing food alone. Did you know that you should be eating at least 0.75g of protein per day as an adult (more so if you're over 50 or trying to change your body composition)? Do you know if you're getting enough protein? For me food tracking is about much more than just calorie counting - it's about making sure that I'm getting enough protein in each meal (around 20-30g to optimise my protein synthesis) to achieve my goals, that my meals have a balanced mix of complete proteins, healthy fats and delicious carbs and that over the course of a day/ week that my diet includes a variety of different vitamin and mineral sources. Calories are not the be all and end all of eating healthy, yes you need to be in a deficit if you're looking to lose weight BUT you also need to make sure that you're getting those calories from good sources ... you could be in a deficit eating three McDonalds a day for example, but you're body wouldn't thank you for it! What are your thoughts on food tracking? Let's get the conversation going! #howtoloseweight #gettoned #toningup #myfitnesspal #caloriecounting #caloriedeficitdiet #countingcalories #caloriecountingdiet #caloriecontrolled #calorietracking #foodtracking #macrotracking #macronutrients #calorieburn #weeklyweightloss #healthyweightloss #sustainableweightloss #protein #macronutrients#weightloos #musclemass #fatloss #musclegrowth #bodycomposition #sustainablediet #balanceddiet #gramandgo #readysweatglow #foodawareness #howtotrackfood (at West Yorkshire) https://www.instagram.com/p/CS8pyEvtVgu/?utm_medium=tumblr
