Ficmas song request: Just a little bit
I am looking forward to ficmas you are my favorite writer. Thank you for writing!
12 Days of Ficmas
Day 4: Just a Little Bit
A/N: Omg, thank you so much!!! I'm sorry this is late! My house is a shit show right now with me sick, both kids sick, and the dog sick, all of us with different maladies. However, I hope you enjoy this one!
Special shout out to @ccab for coming up with the idea for this one!
Warnings: 18+ minors DNI, smut, cussing, kissing, p in v sex, unprotected sex, ejaculation
Word count: ~1.4k
You've always been good with your hands. You have nimble little fingers that work quickly over the articles of clothing you handle. And your attention to detail is unmatched. You can spot a missing button from a mile away. That's how you got this job tending to Elvis's jumpsuits. Someone else designs them and makes them and another person cleans them, but you take care of them, sewing on pieces that have fallen off, patching tears, and keeping them looking their best.
It didn't take him long to notice you. The first time you were called in to mend one while he was wearing it, he flirted with you shamelessly. The next night, he faked needing you to tie his macrame belt and that became your job any time he wore one. You swore he was purposely ripping the brocade off just so you'd have to take fabric glue to his chest before he went on stage.
You've untangled fringe, reattached beads, sewn on conchos, and fixed eyelets all while he's wearing the jumpsuits. He somehow always seems to damage them just by putting them on. You have a sneaking suspicion this is a ploy to get you to his dressing room, but you'd never say that. Instead, you take your little tackle box of supplies and patch him up however he needs. He greets you the same way every time, calling you “Little Bit” because you deal with the little bits on his suits. You've fallen into a kind of routine with him before every show and it's fun and comfortable. He breaks something, you show up, he hollers “Little Bit!” and flirts with you while you fix him up, then he kisses your cheek and heads out to the stage.
But it catches you off guard when you get a call to come to his dressing room after the show. Still, you grab your box of bits and make your way to him.
“Little Bit! Thank God.” He dismisses all the other people in the room, leaving you alone with him.
“You called for me?” Despite the weeks of flirting, you still get a little nervous around him.
“I did. I need help.” You walk over to him and set your box on the table, opening it.
“What seems to be the trouble?” He smiles slyly.
“Can't get my zipper undone.” You look up at him quickly.
“You… can't…”
“The zipper is stuck. C’mere.” He gestures for you to come closer, so you do. Then, he makes a big show of trying to undo the zipper, but it doesn't budge. “See?”
“This is not really… I don't think I can…”
“Oh, come on, with your little fingers? I bet you can.” Your hands shake a bit, but you reach out and try the zipper. Sure enough, it's stuck. You tug a little harder, but it doesn't move.
“Hm.” You keep trying, but after a few minutes, he covers your hands with one of his big ones. When you look up at him, he puts his other hand on the side of your face.
“You sure are a pretty little thing, Little Bit.”
“Oh, um, thank you.”
“Can I kiss you a little bit, Little Bit?” His smirk gives away how pleased he is with his joke. You swallow hard, not sure what to say. He runs his thumb over your lips. “Just a little bit.”
Finally, you nod and close your eyes. He smiles and leans in, pressing his mouth to yours tenderly. Your eyes flutter open as he pulls back.
“See, now, that wasn't so bad, was it? Close your eyes. I'm gonna do it again.” You do as you're told without hesitation. This time he starts at your forehead, presses his lips to each eyelid and cheek, then your nose and chin, and lands at your mouth again. He hovers with his nose touching yours. “Little bit more this time.”
When he kisses you again, he parts his lips and teases yours with his tongue, waiting to be granted entry. You open your mouth and he pushes past your lips, sending his tongue in to tangle with yours. As the kiss deepens, he moves his other hand to the small of your back and pulls your hips into his. You feel his hard length where it pokes you, straining against the fabric of his jumpsuit.
“I'd love to touch you a little bit?” He says it like a question, but his hands are already roaming all over your body. “This okay, Little Bit?”
“Yes.” You whimper breathlessly.
“Little more.” He kisses down your neck with hot, open-mouthed kisses. You're wearing a button-down shirt that he rips open, sending the buttons flying around the room. You gasp as his kisses continue down your body and he pushes your shirt off. He slips one bra strap off your shoulder, exposing your breast to him. “Gonna taste you a little bit.”
You moan softly as he runs his tongue around your nipple and then pulls it into his mouth. He eventually just takes your bra off, pulling back to admire your chest.
“Not so little.” He chuckles, taking both of your breasts in his hands and squeezing gently. His hands slide around your back and down into your slacks to grab your ass. He pulls you in hard against him, grinding his hard-on into you and whispering in your ear. “Wanna fuck you, Little Bit.”
“Just a little bit?” You whimper as he pushes your pants and underwear to the ground.
“No, Little Bit. I wanna fuck you a lot.” He reaches up to unzip his jumpsuit as he kisses you hard, but the zipper is still stuck. “This fuckin’ thing.”
He pulls on it, but it's not moving at all. Without thinking, you turn back to your box and grab a pair of scissors. You both know that the maker of the jumpsuit is gonna kill you, but right now in this moment you do not care at all and neither does he. He inhales to give you room and you slide the scissors in and start to cut. After a few seconds, he decides you're taking too long and just rips it open, frantically pulling it off of his shoulders and down with his mouth pressed to yours wildly.
As soon as he's free of it, he turns you around, bending you over the small table. He uses one hand to guide the tip of his cock to your entrance and the other to steady your hips.
“So good and wet for me, Little Bit.” He coos as he slowly starts to push into you from behind. You moan as he fills you up, holding both of your hips as he bottoms out inside you. “Fuck.”
And then he pulls back and fills you again, picking up a steady rhythm of pounding you with his cock. Your eyes cross and you whimper while he slams into you over and over again. He stands you up and kisses the back of your neck and shoulder as he fucks you, his cadence getting more and more erratic. You get louder and louder with each thrust as your own climax approaches. He feels your walls start to squeeze and flutter, so he slips his hand around you to rub your clit while he hits your g-spot relentlessly.
“Come on, Little Bit, cum for me baby.” He grunts, trying to hold off his orgasm.
“Just a… little bit… more… oh fuck!” You yell and grab onto the table as you cum, your release washing over you as your body pulses and throbs around him. He manages to pound you just long enough to get you through before he pulls out and pumps himself with his hand, shooting spurts of cum on your ass. After you catch your breath, you hand him your shirt and he uses that to wipe you clean before stumbling backwards to the small couch. He pulls you with him and you settle onto his shoulder. As you sit there, he starts to laugh.
“That suit is ruined.”
“Little bit.” You giggle and he kisses your forehead. “So is my shirt.”
“You can have one of mine.”
“Oh yeah? You like the idea of me wearing your clothes?”
“Little Bit, I like the idea of you. What you're wearing is irrelevant.” He pulls your fingers to his mouth and presses his lips to them. You sit there for a bit longer before you sigh, looking around the room at the mess you made and whispering.
“Well, that was unexpected.” He chuckles.
“Little bit…”

Rollo Flamm x Reader || Rhythm
Warnings: Understated jealousy (?), Reader can’t dance (wants to, though), provisioning of unrequired love, female reader.
The girl that dances atop the stage is really pretty.
It’s not you, and with some kind of regret, you concede you’ve never properly learned to dance.
The girl is more beautiful than the starry night above the City of Flowers because she feels like a dream. Stars will be tomorrow too, but her? No one knows, so all eyes are on her, to balm each’s heart with her sight.
Her steps are graceful and the way she moves is enchanting. It’s not an easy choreography either - with so many jumps and twirls and turns - but she makes it seem so because a smile never leaves her face. The fabric of her dress follows her faithfully, and you imagine she will look incredible in every photo taken of her.
“She’s so… beautiful,” someone next to you breathes with awe.
You believe Rollo thinks so too.
Even if the thought of never being looked on like that stings, you can only blame yourself as he didn’t want to come here at all. When you suggested checking out the show that is being held in a Topsy-Turvy Event Hall, Rollo scolded you for distracting yourself. It might be a Friday evening when most of the students are already headed to the dormitory, but the work of student council members is never done. Before the weekend, at least.
Your whingeing has been guerdoned: Rollo agreed on taking a break. He was hesitant while doing so, and almost annoyed at the cheery smiles that appeared instantly on three faces, yours, the vice president’s and a school treasurer’s. The papers and cups of cold tea were left instantly, and in the next few minutes, all four of you were heading down the staircase.
…
A square is crowded every season with tourists, so neither you nor Rollo is surprised that the two other students got separated from you before even reaching the main stage. You are thankful for their attentiveness because it allows you to be alone with Rollo.
“They are selling enchanted drinks again!” You exclaim, pointing to a stall with indigo macrame hung around a tent. Some attractions were opened at certain seasons a year, and you remember the elixirs being a hit last year.
“It looks like so,” Rollo states flatly. “I wonder why people are so fixated on this kind of never-lasting things.”
Knowing Rollo is a man of harsh words, you brush off his comment.
Blue potion with edible glitter — you are sure it’s edible glitter because most of the useful mixtures are rather lustreless — catches your eye. It looks like a piece of starry sky tucked into a glass bottle. It’s also supposed to help you with your studies if you drink it, so it’s even more magical.
“Would you like to try one? This one helps you focus… But, yeah, I guess you already can do that perfectly,” you pick up the next vial. “Oh, after drinking the yellow one, you should be able to sing more professionally! And the green one is for rhythm… I would need that one. Yet, the most interesting one here is-”
- a love potion.
Even the vial is heart-shaped. The mixture inside is either pink or purple, you can’t really define it because of the amount of bubbles that constantly stir the mixture. You might not be the best alchemy student ever, but even you know that that potion has some enchanting aroma that might bind your senses.
Maybe that potion is your only chance ever to get with Rollo. Your heart is heavy at the thought of enchanting him to love you.
“I have no intention of buying anything,” Rollo’s curt voice slings you from your thoughts. He takes vials from your hands and puts them back, any moment ready to push them out of his mind. “Anything but croissants. I can treat you to one of those.”
…And that’s how you get free food, dear students.
“Will you? Thank you, thank you, thank you!” You would love to hug him, Rollo is… Rollo probably wouldn’t appreciate this kind of gratitude in the middle of the street. Or wherever. It’s hard to imagine Rollo being happy about a hug as he seems unused to physical contact, yet that might be a reason why you should try to open him up.
For a last moment you think about the enchanted concoctions, but Rollo turns around and you need to catch up to not get separated from him.
Way to his favourite bakery Rollo knows by heart. He guides you through the crowd and it’s easy to follow him as he stands taller than most people, the distance being even larger when you count his hat. He glanced over his shoulder to check if you were still beside him after you get out of the most crowded area.
“We’re here,” Rollo announces as if you hadn’t been accompanying him to the bakery whenever you had a chance. He strides to the counter, where several types of croissants under a glass cover are creating a delicious exhibition. “Choose whatever you like.”
It's a very tempting offer, and you decide to take it once you glue yourself to the glass of a counter.
“I…” You start, pointing at two specific desserts. Two croissants with your favourite fillings are too delicious to pick between them. “Can I get two? I will treat you something in return, once I'll have money on me.”
“You’ll get a stomachache,” he says curtly but slides his card to a lady behind a counter that picks up another baking for himself, halfway dipped in chocolate and topped with cut-dried strawberries. “Be careful. They’ve been just taken out of the oven, so you’d better don’t burn yourself.
“Thanks.”
You let yourself bite into the device, as you take another turn, this time the way leading into the main square. There is a grand scene that is always used for music performances.
There is one being held, a solo.
You glance at the dancer, and they look around the crowd. You think there are your two missing clubmates, and beckon Rollo over.
“Hey, there are—”
…
Your surprise silences you.
Rollo stays planted on the ground, eyes on the dancing girl with something like awe. You know that look. You caught a glimpse of it many times on the surface of the glass in student consul’s showcases; your face, so desperately stretching in a soft smile, not to look suspicious.
For the first time, you didn't like the idea of love at first sight.
…
You know where it’s time to step out. Many negotiations you held with people on behalf of students of NBC sensitised you to their expectations and what you should do.
You smile weakly, before gently tapping Rollo on his arm. “I… will get going.”
But Rollo, amazingly, has already shaken off from mysterious enchantment. If you could only do so as easily, permanently. “Are you sick?” He asks, and when you avoid his eyes, his tone voice drops half a tone. “What happened?”
“Nothing, it’s… Can… I… just go?”
“What happened?” Rollo repeats. His eyes scan you, the first time quickly, and when he doesn’t find anything visible, he gets more alarmed, actually looking stiff. “Did you actually burn yourself? I told you to be careful.”
You don’t know what to tell him but start with a measurement that doesn’t bring him any relief.
“It’s not that, Rollo. I…”
“Do tell.” He insists, although if you said a word, you know he wouldn’t question you any more about this. But he would find out in some other way, and he might think you don’t trust him enough - and this implication you really want to avoid - and… “Tell me.”
…And you want to believe that he’s worried for you.
You stare at the ground, and clasp your hands behind your back once you notice their subtle shaking. Why are you reacting this way? Ahh… “I just don’t enjoy dancing. I think I will just return to school and finish organizing the documents…”
“You’ve always liked to see people dance though.”
So he has noticed.
“I don’t have a talent to dance myself.”
“You just need to learn,” he says, his tone softer than you’ve ever heard him. And as you’ve been listening to his voice o lot, you think you might’ve imagined it. Rollo glances at his watch and urges you to come with him. “It’s almost time to ring the bell. Let’s go. I will help you.”
…
You don’t like climbing the bell tower, and going up hundreds of steps isn’t something easy even with Rollo as your motivation. It’s the anxiety that keeps you going.
“I didn't buy the enchantment, though,” you break the silence, and Rollo looks over his shoulder. He is one step in front of you, and he probably slowed his pace to let you catch up to him easily. He’s a master of climbing stairs and ladders after all. “To dance. The bell won’t do anything if… I don’t have any magic on me, no?”
“Don't depend on these kinds of things,” he grumbles. “If you do, you will never achieve anything. For example, if you drank the potion, of course, you'd know how to dance. But just for tonight.”
You question his motivational quote. “But isn't the magic helpful sometimes?”
“It makes one fully depend on it.”
And the conversation ends here because you’ve reached the top platform. Rollo opens the trapdoor and holds it for you. As you step out, you’re immediately hit with a breeze of cold air, but it’s more kind of refreshing than freezing.
Once the trapdoor is closed, Rollo awaits, frozen for a clock-measured minute and three seconds.
And then he rings the bell. It takes much force to move it, and you are almost sure Rollo doesn’t even boost his strength with magic. But, what’s unexpected, this one time he uses magic to repeat the movements of the bell and have it ring on its own.
DING- DONG.
DING- DONG.
DING- DONG.
He leaves it to ring at the same tempo and turns to you. The magical earplugs in your ears only moderately muffle the sound of the bell. No music from the Topsy-Turvy Event Hall reaches you anymore. You can only hear the rings clearly, and wouldn't hear Rollo if he said anything.
He doesn't even try to, and without even a shred of a smile, he takes your hand in his.
DING- DONG.
His right hand wraps around your waist, and the fingers of the left one intertwine with yours. He stands taller than you, mighty, righteous. His gaze lingers on you as if he judges you.
It’s never a fair judgement, because the slightly offbeat of his heart drives his reason senseless.
He takes the first step to the back, and you follow along.
DING- DONG.
Rollo's movements are fluid and graceful, yet precise and purposeful. He leads you with ease, his body guiding yours. Waltz is a dance that emphasises the partnership, but with you not knowing the steps, it feels to you like some sort of majestic tango.
You’re overpowered within the first seconds of dance.
DING- DONG.
DING- DONG.
Step, step, DING, turn, step, turn, DONG.
You know your cheeks are flushed, and you blame the height and cold wind for it. Maybe it is a tiring dance, and you believe it’s acceptable to be this tired yet happy if you are dancing for all of eternity. It feels like the bell started to strike the omnipresent tempo a lifetime ago.
Rollo knows when your waltz-tango should end. He stops the chime with a fluid movement of his hand, magic stopping the well-kept rhythm from a bell.
BA-DUM, BA-DUM.
Your heart maintains the tempo. Even if each beat is strong and loud, you worry about how it will come to a halt at any second.
“I’m surprised,” he starts, sounding unsurprised but kind…-ish, “that you aren’t in a dance-related club yet.”
You cock your head to the side. “Is this a… sarcasm?”
“No. I think that musical-related things would suit you better. You could dance on that grand stage we approached earlier.”
“Like that girl?”
Rollo frowns. “What girl?”
…He doesn’t remember? How could anyone forget for a second about a person one has fallen for? You couldn’t. You can’t. You’re dumbfounded.
“A dancer. On a stage. Today.” Rollo looks more confused with each suggestion. “She was dancing to a… fast music in a flowy dress?”
“Ah,” finally, recognition sparkles in his eyes. A wave of relief is followed by anxiety, but Rollo shrugs your both overwhelms off, with a flick of his hand. “Yes, like her or… even better. The piece she danced to would fit you if you only embrace your passion. I think your performance would be more dreamy.”
You chuckle.
“If I would do that, what would you do without me in the student council club?” By this slight teasing, Rollo stiffens a little. You place your hand on your chest. “But as your right hand, you can’t get rid of me so easily.”
You swear you see him smiling subtly, and it’s no trick of light.
“As my right hand, you have the power to do whatever you want.”
“Then I want to stay.”
“Hm,” Rollo ponders. As you notice his gaze, you feel as if he’s contemplating which future holds the best fate for you. He lowers his eyelids, sighing slightly. “Is that so?”
“Yes,” you smile. “But if I hold any power like you say, I would like to use it to have you dance with me again.”
“Strange request,” he says curtly but doesn’t deny your request. His follow-up question makes your chest fill with warmth. “Do you know any dances? Except for waltz,” he says as if you could call your ‘waltz’ anything other than pretending to know how to dance.
“Macarena?” You suggest and he looks at you sceptically. In response, you flash him a bashful smile. “No?”
He sighs but takes your hands in his.
“Let me teach you, then,” he says, slowly. “Let’s start with a proper greeting,” but his greeting isn’t proper, because he doesn’t look at you. Because he avoids your gaze, you can have a shameless view on his red face, that must match the temperature with his quickly warming up hands. You always thought Rollo’s hands were cold, until this moment. “An elegant bow…”
He bows and you lift the brim of your skirt in response, trying to copy the fluidity of the curtsy.
He brings your hand up so carefully as if it is made from the thinnest glass, and presses his lips to your knuckles. So cliche, so old-fashioned, but chivalry isn’t dead as it fills you with energy, surprise and some embarrassment that makes you want to live this moment forever. “And a kiss.”
“Now I’m charmed,” You laugh softly, a smile on your face, yet you were mentally prepared to faint. You wonder if doctors would detect you lovesick if your heart actually stopped. “What’s after that?”
Rollo glances up at you, his eyes brighter than ever. He brings you closer to him.
“Let’s talk about rhythm.”

The "Street suit", worn onstage by accident (1975)
TWO-TONED STREET SUIT | Other names: Penguin suit Used only once onstage, on August 19, 1975, at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, during the Midnight concert. Elvis wore the suit with a Black Macrame belt. Info from website elvisconcerts.com (Jumpsuit index)
According to the rumors, Elvis was late for the show that night and he had no time to change his clothes, so he just walked on-stage wearing what he had on at the moment: the Two-toned Street suit.
Elvis during concert in August 19, 1975, at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This sounds a little off to me, to be truthful. If EP in fact wasn't intending wearing the Street suit onstage then I wonder the reasons why: Did he get distracted and forgot to change his outfit in time? Maybe he was visiting with fans backstage or too busy chatting with guests/friends/family in his suite while resting before another concert could begun? (He performed the dinner concert the same night at 8:15pm and wore the Totem Pole suit for it); perhaps something happened with the other outfit he planned to change into for the second concert, considering he didn't want to wear the Totem Pole suit for both concerts the same night; or Elvis simply felt like wearing the Two-toned Street suit because he felt more comfortable in it at the moment. I guess we'll never know what actually happened.
UPDATE: I learned reason why he probably wasn't properly dressed for the August 19th concert. Thanks @deke-rivers-1957 for commenting on this post and sharing your knowledge on what was going on in Elvis' life in those days. I see I was only trying to be optimistic while guessing why Elvis wasn't properly dressed onstage in August 19, 1975 because it went through my mind it could be due to illness someway but I chose not to mention this possibility before. Thanks to you, we have an answer to share here. There you go:
Friday 15, in August 1975 "Late in the evening Elvis leaves Memphis for Las Vegas, very likely in the Jet Commander, but the place is forced to make an unscheduled stop in Dallas when Elvis has difficulty breathing. After resting for several hours in a motel, he recovers sufficiently to continue on the trip." Excerpt from book "Elvis Day by Day: The Definitive Record of His Life and Music" (1999) by Peter Guralnick and Ernst Jorgensen.
Using my words to finish the explanations, Elvis was visibly not okay since, at least, August 15, but all signals were ignored by him and the ones around him. On August 18, 1975 Elvis opened another engagement in Vegas, at the Las Vegas Hilton, but he was visibly still not in good shape. In the book, Ernst Jorgensen says "Elvis had to sit down for much of the performance". The 19th was the second concert night at the venue. Apparently, other than the "wrong suit" situation during the second concert that night, the shows ran smoothly — During the first concert that night, Elvis wore one of his proper performance outfits, the Totem Pole suit, as mentioned before. A possible reason why for the second concert he was dressed casually can be explained from what happened in August 20. On August 20, Elvis told his manager, Col. Parker, he wasn't feeling good enough to perform. Colonel Parker told him to perform that day again because "no prior notice had been given". After the concerts in August 20, the remainder of the shows at the Las Vegas Hilton for that season (it was suppose to be a two-week engagement) were "canceled due to illness". On the 21st, Elvis was back in Memphis and he was hospitalized at the Baptist Memorial Hospital.
The way I see it now with the accurate information, Elvis was trying to say he wasn't feeling okay and this suit was likely his way of showing he was ready to go home. It's only mentioned he was vocal about his illness on August 20th, but knowing this "Street suit" concert was the second that night on the 19th, Elvis was probably not intending to even perform a second concert when he wore his off-stage wardrobe during a performance that night. Maybe backstage he was trying to convince Parker to let him cancel the second show for the night and he didn't succeed in his attempt but it was too late to change his outfit for the show, or, perhaps, knowing a little of Elvis' personality, he was probably not dressed to perform just to piss Colonel Parker off, a way of showing his will needed to be respected and taken seriously.
I confess I really was trying not to imagine EP was sick during that concert, but that's the backstage story behind the "Two-toned Street Suit" worn onstage in 1975.
LET'S SEE THE KING IN ACTION WEARING THAT SUIT:
youtube
Elvis had several different colored "two-toned street suits". He wore them during 1975 and 1976. This was the only one which was worn on-stage. Excerpt from website elvisconcerts.com (Jumpsuit index)

VERSIONS OF THE TWO-TONED SUIT
About that, it's a part of Elvis's personality, as his friends told over the years, "when Elvis likes something, he goes all the way". From general off-work activities (going to the movies, amusement parks, riding motorcycles, collecting guns/police badges, and so on), to food and also to his wardrobe choices, Elvis overdid things when he liked something.
The King owned clothes in the same model in different colors, usually his favorites (blue, red, black and white). Below we have an example of this, before going to the Street Suit.
Two-toned Street Suit
EP had at least four of them: two are black and white with the variation between them being the reverse color scheme, another one goes in two shades of blue and a fourth suit goes in brown and beige tones.
The one he wore onstage is in the second picture below, this time worn casually, as usual. On the photos in both sides of that one, Elvis is wearing the reverse color scheme suit - same model but white with black side stripes and black lapel. On the latter pictures Elvis is wearing Two-toned Street suits in blue and another one in brown/beige tones.
Sometimes Elvis would wear the Two-tone suit jacket as a coat, over his actual stage wear:
The King wearing the Chicken Bone suit with the jacket of his blue shades "Two-Toned Street Suit" over his shoulders.
Elvis performing at the Hilton Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 19, 1975 (Midnight concert).
Note: Those are only the pictures I could find of this one suit model Elvis had in different colors but it wouldn't surprise me if EP had more of them, which I imagine it would go in red-white or red-black color schemes or even all white/all black versions, but I haven't found pictures that can endorse this theory, so far.

What would be ur recs/advice for those who wanna start dressing like violet? I started the show less than a week ago ( late to the party, I know lmao ) but I already love it and she really stands out to me as a character.
Ps: I think ur posts are so cool!!
thank you! better to be late than never come i guess. :,)
if you're looking into violet's style and just want to dress like her, i recommend doing research on all of her outfits. she dresses very grunge-like at times with a twinge of girly and boho style. a great example of this is her outfit in “home invasion”, where she wears a dress and a flannel paired together.
the way she wears dresses is slightly influenced by 90s style. in “home invasion”, violet asks the girls if the tights they're forcing her to wear are vintage. it's clear that violet loves vintage style clothing. this photo is from a 1996 delia’s fall catalog, which is similar to violet's clothing style.
model A is definitely wearing something violet would wear. as violet loves to pair short-sleeve dresses with long sleeves. she also often wears combat-style boots with dresses, or vintage-style ankle boots. she wears ballet flats a few times, giving her outfits a feminine look. she also does wear a few blouses. violet is more on the girly side when it comes to dressing up.
for shoes, violet wears a lot of boots and ballet flats. her most common boots worn are her urban outfitters ecoté equestrian ankle boot. she wears them with almost every outfit with leggings, tights, etc.. with most of her outfits, she does wear combat-style boots. a great example of this is her boots worn with her ymc dress and the boots worn with the joie cardigan. she does wear ballet flats a few times, once with the spending time pullover and once with her free people fit and flare burgundy skater dress. only once in the show she wears sneakers. she also wears black, lace up oxfords with her a.p.c dress, which are never worn again after that.
violet often wears patterned clothing. the most common pattern violet wears is floral. almost all of her dresses have floral prints. her tights also have floral patterns. she often wears paisley print tops as well, such as the free people regal macrame asymmetrical tunic and the paisley ruffle top worn underneath the banana republic striped cardigan. she likes stripes as well, her socks are striped as well as some of her cardigans and sweaters.
another thing to remember is that violet always layers her clothing. underneath sweaters, she always wears an undershirt. underneath dresses, she wears long sleeves, and so on. underneath tank tops, she often layers two long sleeves or rolls up the sleeves.
she most often covers up her body when wearing dresses. she always wears something underneath her dresses to avoid showing any cleavage. she always makes sure to wear long sleeves with dresses as well to hide her cuts. when wearing sleeveless dresses, violet will pair cardigans or long sleeves underneath a dress to avoid showing her arms. when wearing shorts and dresses, violet always wears tights or long socks. it's clear that violet doesn't like to show a lot of skin. when wearing tank tops or short sleeves, she always wears something underneath unless she's by herself or with tate. only a few times in the show violet shows some skin, but not very much.
violet also loves graphic t-shirts. she wears a few of them like the j. crew lake erie boating club henley, the custom-made kinks tee, and the nordstrom chloe k. multicolored feather print tee. when wearing these, she always wears a long sleeve top underneath. as for long sleeves, violet likes to wear burnouts, such as the free people floral burnout henley and the free people striped long sleeve burnout in sand.
as for color, her outfits are never really vibrant. most of the time they include colors with dark hues. she wears a lot of black, purple, burgundy, gray, and beige from what i've seen. most of her outfits consist of muted color schemes.
for accessories, violet wears a lot of hats and bracelets. she wears the urban outfitters bailey of hollywood cosgrove wide brim pork pie hat a couple times. she also wears a lot of knit beanies or berets. when wearing bracelets, she really just wears whatever, such as pearl bracelets, knot bracelets, hair ties, and so on. she likes to wear scarves too, and she wears a small wrist scarf around her wrist a few times. with every outfit, violet wears silver hoop earrings, which aren't too noticeable unless she pulls her hair back. she also includes different bags, such as her rothco book bag and her ecoté backpack.
another thing about her style is that she often wears a lot of free people and urban outfitters brands, such as pins and needles, staring at stars, bdg, ecoté, and so on. free people is a mainly boho style clothing brand, and violet does wear a lot of boho style clothing as well. once in the show, she does wear a crochet white beanie, which stems from the whole 2010s boho style.
she wears crochet tank tops, paisley patterns, floral patterns, macrame vests and tank tops, ponchos, crochet dresses, lace tops and dresses, fringe cardigans and bags, the list goes on. her style overall is a mix of 2010’s boho, grunge, and vintage style clothing.
if you're looking to actually collect exacts, then before you start collecting, i would recommend doing your research on violet's outfits so you don't get the wrong exact. i've seen people buy the wrong colorway of the trapeze slip dress, so you should probably do your research first.
to start collecting violet’s clothes, you may want to start with some common items. such as the items listed down below. do keep in mind, as the years go on, the availability of some exacts are getting more and more limited as they age, so get these while you can.
• free people intimately voile and lace trapeze slip dress in storm.
• anthropologie moulinette soeurs anthro horkelia shift dress in orange.
• free people fit and flare burgundy skater dress.
• free people lost in the forest knit pullover in tan/faded rose.
• free people spending time pullover in ivory/cream.
these items are almost always available, these are some casual staples in your collection that really capture violet's unique style. new collectors usually get these anyway because if and when any rarer items are on sale, older collectors usually strive to get those because they've probably been looking for them for a while. as you slowly start to build your collection up, you can start to buy rarer exacts.
i recommend searching for items on other apps such as mercari, poshmark, vinted, curtsy, and ebay. if you search hard enough, you can find these items for really cheap. you can type in the brand name of an item you're looking for with a vague description of it, just like this. you can even use image searches on poshmark and ebay if you want.
you can find really cheap exacts this way, but if you can't find anything, then don't be discouraged. mapleavenues has been selling exacts since the early 2010s, and she still does to this day. she's on depop, poshmark, and ebay. however, her prices are high, so if you're not willing to pay that much, then you may wanna start searching with this method.
this is pretty much all i have to say about dressing like violet. this was a bit rushed, but i tried! violet's style is so unique and it always surprises me. so don't be afraid to change up your outfits every now and then like violet does. hopefully i explained this well enough, but violet's style doesn't have a main theme, so it is very, very complex and hard to explain. :,) hopefully this helps.
