I honestly think they dropped the ball on the ted and nate storyline. ted as a character was fleshed out by not having him be this two-dimensional, always positive person and having one of his pressing issues be him not being able to open up and express his emotions. while it is in character for ted to have already forgiven nate, for the show to wait to the very last episode for them to have a real conversation and for it to not even have ted express how nate had hurt him is a disservice to both characters and their overall arcs

To ensure that these important bodies of water are celebrated and appreciated as they should be, World Rivers Day aims to remind people about just how important all of the waterways around the globe are to us.

The very first World Rivers Day was celebrated in 2005 and since then it has been gaining in popularity with many events being organized around the world. In this same year, the United Nations also launched its Water for Life Decade, with the aim of increasing the awareness of the need for taking better care of the world’s waters.

World Rivers Day was launched alongside this new initiative, all thanks to a proposal that was put forward by Mark Angelo, who was already an international river advocate.

Happy birthday to my third set of twins, and my only set of IDENTICAL TWINS! Isn't it amazing how much alike they look? Morgan and Mackenzie, you're such blessings to all of us, and you're especially big blessings in the expectant season of life I'm currently in! But while their looks are identical, their personalities are not, and I couldn't think of two more different girls!

Morgan (in red) is a take-charge personality. When she sees something that needs doing, she either does it herself, or she makes sure it gets done, steamrolling over her siblings. While the Watcher has blessed her with this gift, we've been working with her on deferring to others' judgements and knowing when to submit, so she'll be a proper wife one day.

Mackenzie (in blue) is our meek little music lover. She follows Morgan's lead in everything, even in what they wear (and of course, they should match, because they are identical twins, after all!), and knows no greater joy than to practice her instruments and listen to music. She also loves helping with her jurisdictions, and she'll be a wonderful wife with a meek and quiet spirit and a servant's heart one day.

Morgan, strong-willed girl that she is, wanted to wear dresses that are not appropriate for our family's modesty standards, so I made her put on modesty leggings and shirts underneath (and Mackenzie as well, of course). They are of an age where they are discovering their own wishes and want to express themselves, but above all, their choices need to glorify the Watcher, and we, as good parents, make sure that they do not stray from the path prescribed to them.

It is such a blessing to have four big girls in the house now (even though Melissa has a job now, to learn the ladylike skill of flower arranging!) that I'm big pregnant and have to work really hard on my contentment, my relationship with the Watcher, and being available for my husband Michael. They do so much work around the house, and Morgan is especially good at organizing everything just so, I feel like I have less work now than I had during my last pregnancy! How wonderful!

the thing about the time travelers is that being uprooted from their own time to another fundamentally breaks every single one of them. It’s the shock of it, the way the magic and the experience utterly changes them, remakes them into something that isn’t exactly human anymore and then puts them back together and says “now go try to live your life again.”

it doesn’t matter if they fall through like claire, if they smash through with a bloody purpose like geillis, or they walk through with a prayer like brianna. they all belong to the faeries now and there’s nothing they can do to get around it. down to the way they speak to each other - roger says some pretty fairy words that donner recognizes, speaking a language only they understand. claire’s magical knowledge can’t save her from being hunted and tried as a witch, a faerie, a traitor, a murderess. ottertooth’s cassandra esque warnings of the future do nothing but cause strife among the same people he wanted to save.

even their morality has wholly changed into something else, something inhuman. roger says it himself in the premiere; when you’re scared and alone and desperate and there’s no way to get home, your sense of morality shifts and twists in a vain attempt to protect yourself.

so a doctor becomes a murderess and a freedom fighter becomes a slaver and a holy man watches while a woman and her child are drowned and an independent modern yank loses every shred of what made her stand out and a man who fought the never ending death march of genocide goes back in time and stands frozen as he listens to a woman just like him be tortured and raped and he stands there and does nothing because he’s small and tired and old and he wasn’t even supposed to land in this year and he didn’t even meet his own fucking people anyway and hes scared, so scared, and he just wants to go home.

and geillis and ottertooth and donner are all forced to die in this terrifying, human world. they can never go back to the realm of the faeries because it never even existed. claire going back does not heal her, it breaks her even more. there’s no going back, there’s no going forward, because they are the ones that are wrong now. and all their worst traits get amplified and all their best traits twist into something wicked until geillis’ fanatical devotion to the independence of her people - to the detriment of all others - is what gets her killed. ottertooth’s steely resolve does nothing but get him stubbornly stuck alone in that storm. and donner’s fear for the future eats him whole, and a man that shouldn’t even be in this time lights a match that doesn’t even exist yet, and realizes that his fear will never get him back home but if all he does is drop the match and let the flame consume him, he can find his damning release all the same.
