Hoje a luz estava incrível, a lua cheia nascendo e brilhando desde cedo e o céu nesses tons pastéis encantadores.

5 Nonfiction Nordic Books
Hanna's Daughters by: Marianne Fredriksson
"Hanna’s Daughters presents a broad and engaging view of one hundred years of Swedish history told through the eyes of three generations of Swedish women. Bestselling Swedish author Marianne Fredriksson presents an emotionally resonant family saga chronicling the lives of a grandmother, a mother, and a daughter across a century of love, loss, and sacrifice. It is an unsentimental yet poignant depiction of the complexities of family love and the mother-daughter relationship." (PenguinRandomHouse.com)
2. Autumn by: Karl Ove Knausgaard
"This entry in an autobiographical quartet of books is based around the four seasons, and is an introspective, honest read. Autumn opens with a letter Knausgaard pens for his unborn daughter to introduce her to the world she will one day inhabit. With startling insight and precision, Knausgaard describes the daily life of his wife and children in rural Sweden alongside vivid descriptions of the seemingly mundane." (PenguinRandomHouse.com)
3. Fishing in Utopia: Sweden and the Future That Disappeared by: Andrew Brown
"From the 1960s to the 1980s, Sweden was an affluent, egalitarian country envied around the world. Refugees were welcomed, even misfit young Englishmen could find a place there. Andrew Brown spent part of his childhood in Sweden during the 1960s. In the 1970s he married a Swedish woman and worked in a timber mill raising their small son. Fishing became his passion and his escape. In the mid-1980s his marriage and the country fell apart. The Prime Minister was assassinated. The welfare system crumbled along with the industries that had supported it. 20 years later Andrew Brown traveled the length of Sweden in search of the country he had loved, and then hated, and now found he loved again." (Amazon.com)
4. The Palace of the Snow Queen: Winter Travels in Lapland and Sápmi by: Barbara Sjoholm
"After many years of travel in the Nordic countries—usually preferring to visit during the warmer months—Barbara Sjoholm found herself drawn to Lapland and Sápmi one winter just as mørketid, the dark time, set in. What ensued was a wide-ranging journey that eventually spanned three winters, captivatingly recounted in The Palace of the Snow Queen. " (Amazon.com)
5. War Diaries by: Astrid Lindgren
"Before she became internationally known for her Pippi Longstocking books, Astrid Lindgren was an aspiring author living in Stockholm with her family at the outbreak of the Second World War. The diaries she kept throughout the hostilities offer a civilian's, a mother's, and an aspiring writer’s unique account of the devastating conflict. She emerges as a morally courageous critic of violence and war, as well as a deeply sensitive and astute observer of world affairs. We hear her thoughts about rationing, blackouts, the Soviet invasion of Finland, and the nature of evil, as well as of her personal heartbreaks, financial struggles, and trials as a mother and writer." Oop
Starting to hit that low-on-energy time a bit earlier than usual- more than likely due to mørketid- so I might not draw as much as I’d like to until I get that good medicine juice next week.
I’ll most likely just chill with some Minecraft, BotW, and maaayyybe Sims 4 in the meantime. Get cozy and all that.

Norwegian artist Oskar Bodøgaard was born July 21, 1923 (d. 2011). He preferred to paint the Norwegian scenery in winter light - what the locals in Northern Norway call ‘Mørketiden’.
He studied at the Danish Royal Academy in Copenhagen, as well as the Norwegian Academy in Oslo. His works can be seen in Borge Church on Lofoten, and at Nasjonalmuseet in Oslo...

I have been there and totally get why they’d cook up an ad campaign like this; it’s beautifully peaceful out there.
In summer, anyway.
It would be fine on calm winter’s days too, but having to cross the single lane bridge that connects to the large neigbouring island is so very not something I’d want to do on a stormy day.
(The island shaped like the Sydney opera house in the photo is called Håja)
