“Many say the moon is closer to the dead.”
This is COLOR OF A MIRROR, my debut novel with an original, dark ambient soundtrack by composer Josh McCausland to go along with it.
Written, designed, and published by me, it’s the culmination of years of work, and it’s exactly the story I wanted to tell. It’s not loud or bombastic, but rather a cerebral, slow-burn cyberpunk narrative lingering on themes of fame, paranoia, religion, and technology. If you’re a fan of the brooding futures of William Gibson, Blade Runner, or anything with a mood like the movie Drive, I think you’ll find something to love here.
Available exclusively on my website, it comes in limited edition deluxe-hardcover, softcover, and e-book. (And if you’re a vinyl lover, the soundtrack is pressed in 180g Moondust White; also available on my site.)
Welcome to the Dive. Hope to see you around.

hi therians im a wolf therian and i make music about being therian
every "therian music" playlist ive seen is the same cavetown indie 2020 cottagecore music and i got bored of it really fast, not to mention none of the songs on these playlists are ever actually about being therian. so i decided to start making therian music based on music i personally enjoy.
my names kyrie. im 14, black, nonbinary, gay & i make music under the name gothicwvlff on youtube soundcloud & bandcamp, i dont put it anywhere else. i make dark ambient/post-industrial electronic music because i feel like the darker sound of those genres matches the feeling of species dysphoria.
here are some of my fav songs ive made:
^ the last song (phantom tail) is supposed to be species euphoria
i do not put my music on spotify because spotify requires artists to use a third party distribution program, so none of my music is on spotify except for a collab i did with someone im no longer friends with :/
so uh yeah if youre a therian you might wanna check my stuff out ^~^
all my platforms can be found on my carrd

These days, almost all of us are creating media and sharing it online.
One problem is finding good music that doesn't infringe on copyrights.
Even if you're not trying to monetize your creations, platforms like YouTube and Twitch will put ads on anything you create that uses copyrighted music.
I hear some podcast hosts are doing this now, too.
I'm starting a record label that ONLY provides music that is #DRMFree and #CreativeCommons.
You go to the website, choose a genre you like and listen to some music.
Then you buy the albums you like or even just individual songs.
It's immediately available for download and you can then put them in whatever creations you want.
You own the music forever.
Don't worry about your Twitch and YouTube videos being demonetized.
With our DRM-Free Creative Commons music, you'll be able to use your music as you please, on any device you want.
Buy some music now to help raise funds to get the record label off the ground:
If you prefer #InstrumentalHipHop, check out the beatMage: https://megabyteghost.bandcamp.com/album/a-day-at-the-carnival-with-the-beat-mage
If you like #Industrial music, check out megabyteGhost: https://megabyteghost.bandcamp.com/album/dead-mans-switch
And if you like #DarkAmbient music, check out Prefecture.Audio: https://megabyteghost.bandcamp.com/album/prefecture-audio-ii-swamp

Pieces like this one remind me why I fell in love with dark ambient. It's so surreal and open to interpretation. It just inspires me to stop procrastinating and make more music!

Hey Y'all!!!
hi tumblr!!! uuh.. about a month ago I released an album and because this is pretty much the only social media that I publicly use I thought it would be nice to share it in here to see if anyone other than my friends could listen to it and get in contact with my music!
Thou Shalt Spark in the Ruins of What Remains of a Home is a experimental album that blends together a multitude of genres such as dark ambient, lo-fi, post-rock, electronic, noise, trip-hop and everything in between! It's made out of very abrasive and harsh sounds that can be really scary, but also really disarming and vulnerable, bringing a strange sense of intimacy and comfort not despite the uglyness and chaos but because of it.
Hope I don't sound too cocky saying those things haha but I thought it would be nice to give a brief introduction to what this album is for me before just telling people to go listen to it. If you guys could share the album with people who would like i'd really aprecciate it. If my art means something important even to just one person, that's enough to make me the happiest person in the world.
also, the album is free! download it as you want. But if you're gonna use it in a personal project, please give me proper credits!!

I put out an album today. It’s about the end of the world and finding hope despite it. It’s a journey, an odyssey through the dismal death of the world. Listen wherever you get music.

TUESDAY NIGHT LISTENING: I love dark ambient music, it can be so suggestive of literally anything your pretty little head and dark heart can imagine. So here is an hour of a dark ambient mix put together by Ambient For The Masses. Give it a listen.

About a year ago now is when Josh McCausland and I first wrapped production of the Color of a Mirror soundtrack, and sent it off for pressing! (The above photo is an abstract shot of the first test pressing sleeve.)
After the post the other day about the Full Moon Bundle (containing the limited vinyl release) I wanted to take a moment of special mention for this soundtrack and what it means to me.
One of my biggest loves (and frustrations) of a show or video game is the music. When it’s done right, it’s one of those things that gives you chills, and you can’t wait to return to that universe, can’t wait to hear that title card music at the start of the next episode. (Like launching the original Mass Effect and hearing that menu music.) On the flip side, it can derail the whole experience for me… or at least make it far less memorable, because music often sets the scene for me.
This extends to when I’m writing, as well. Depending on the mood or the emotion, I’ll find different songs that fit that character or scene. And then lots of times, I’ll have that selection on repeat for a few days. Haha.
So being able to collaborate with a composer on the sound of this dark cyberpunk universe I’d been writing for a handful of years, trying to pull on all those ambient/sci-fi/industrial influences but also create something that felt new, something that could be listened to while you’re reading or on its own… it was really an amazing experience, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we came up with!
It all started with just two images that I sent to Josh; I said, “This is the vibe.” (He hadn’t read the book at that point, and I was thinking he was just going to make a single promo song for me.) When he came back to me with about ten different options, making it super difficult to choose, I knew the project had to be a full album. Iterating back and forth with him and seeing his process, taking some of those initial hooks and tying them together… so much fun!
The title track “Color of a Mirror” was one of those original concepts that I just couldn’t get enough of. The sound for the rest of the album was really born there, I think.
All in all, it’s such an honor to see my vision of this novel through someone else’s skill and expertise in an entirely different discipline. Such a pleasure, and I cannot wait to work on Vol. 2 together!
Check out the soundtrack on Bandcamp to give Josh some love:
(Also available on major streaming platforms.)
And if you want to check out the book as well, head over to my website.
Thanks for reading!
-Daniel

"It's getting dark again" is an album about those uncertain times we all go trough at some point in our lives. After years of feeling I know my place in this world and having clear goals and dreams.. it seems like I lost my ways to some extent. Depression came back with vengeance, substance abuse followed. The only constant in my life right now is the music. Whatever happens I have my laptop, my DAW and the ideas in my head to get it all out.. good or bad.
Thank you all for listening, and big shout out to those of you who are kind enough to buy my music. You give me hope that not everything is shit.

You can get the album on Bandcamp for the usual price of 7$. By the way, you can now support my YT channel by becoming a member for less than 1$ a month. It might sound like nothing, but it helps out more than you think :)))
