Alinora — Compliments usually make her roll her eyes. She doesn’t know what to do with sincerity. (Praise her loyalty and her skill. Her dedication & her drive. And maybe tell her she’s pretty, too.)

Elaena — Tell her she’s terrifying, eerie, odd, macabre. Tell her it makes you jump when she suddenly appears from the shadows. Tell her she’s funny, interesting, intelligent.

Lyr — Tell him he’s funny, that his stories are engaging, that it’s easy to have a good time with him. Compliment his singing or the way he plays the lute. Tell him he’s a good fighter, that he gave you a challenge, and you’d like to fight him again.

Ava — Compliment her kindness, her compassion, the advice she gives. Thank her for a listening ear. Tell her that her flowers are beautiful, and that you like her hair. Compliment her clothes, her skill with the bow, her singing voice, her skill with a lyre, the neat, looping lines of her handwriting.

Talitha — Talitha is both the easiest & hardest to compliment, because. Of everyone on this list she takes compliments the easiest… provided they’re not coming from people she cares for, or don’t hit on something sincere. That said, compliment her brain, her mind, her magic. Compliment her ship, her sense of fashion, her taste in books. The way she plays the violin. You could also compliment her cooking. She’ll know you’re lying, but she’ll appreciate the gesture ;)

Aishlynn — Aish is probably the easiest person to answer, honestly. Tell her she’s a good person. Tell her she’s kind, tell her you like her. She doesn’t want much except to be liked, & to be told she’s doing a good job. For bonus points you could compliment her needlework; her poetry; her skill on the harp; or her sense of fashion.

Asa — Any kind of compliment makes him shy and awkward, but he appreciates compliments to his work ethic, dedication, the skills he’s worked hard to develop. Tell him his bedside manner is good, that his presence is comforting.

Viviana — Just be sincere, whatever you say. She’ll know if you’re lying.

so... i heard about this (free!) program called artbreeder & decided to see if i could get it to generate the metanoia cast. it was very very tricksy, but i managed it! mostly. couldn’t include any scars, but!!!

i had to edit both asa & elaena---just asa’s eyes, but both elaena’s eyes & skin because she... looked more like a ghost than a person. (which, tbh, kind of fits her Aesthetic if nothing else :p)

both viviana and talitha leave some things to be desired (tali’s eyes are paler and her hair is shaved on one side; while viviana is supposed to have braids :p) but honestly!!!! i’m super stoked with how these came out :D

they are SO ride or die for each other. like. one of them (lyr, probably) could come up with the STUPIDEST plan, and the other would follow them to the bitter, bitter end. while calling the other an idiot, of course.

they've spent their entire lives together. they were born with a soul bond---which created a telepathic/empathetic link between the two of them. it took a while for them to learn to close it off at will, and so their early years were spent with a direct line in the other's head. they've never been apart for more than a few days, and even then, never over great distances.

they love each other. they're extremely close. no one knows the other better than their twin---though tali could maybe claim second place where lyr is concerned.

however, there is NO ONE better at getting on the other's nerves. which can and has lead to some of the WICKEDEST fights, and the most vicious prank wars.

(altho god forbid anyone outside of themselves & a very select group of people messes with them, even when they are at odds)

all of that said.

ava would absolutely sell her brother to the devil for a single corn chip. (lyr would at least hold out for two.)

gives The Best hugs $ cuddles bc he is Big and Stronk but also Soft in places.

super good with hair! he eventually ends up being the one in charge of like… cutting the groups hair? and also styling. talitha needs the most work bc her ‘do is so short and needs lots of maintenance.

also an excellent cook! though, at this point, he hasn’t really had the chance to blossom yet, as the only place he’s really been able to cook is over an open campfire.

one of the jobs he used to do when he was still with his clan / wandering slayer group was basket weaving! he got pretty good at it—and honestly, weaving in general.

i want to say he’s also good at sleight of hand, just because i think that would be a cute trait to give him!

Alinora: combo of Gibbs and Ziva, I think? or maybe more like Ziva & Kate?? anyway. in TMQ-era she would be more the intimidating kick-ass teammate but as Meta continues she eventually grows into that team leader mold. (or such is the plan, lmao)

Elaena: Ziva, in that she’s very much the shadowy operative from a different agency. good at terrifying people, also pretty compassionate.

Lyr: Tony. Like, that barely needs thinking about xD He’s very much the Tony of the group. Always flirting, good instincts, unorthodox methods, nosy, cares a lot about his team...

Ava: Uh. Okay, not gonna lie, I’m really struggling here. I don’t really feel like she matches up to any of the NCIS team’s personality??? however, i do feel like she’d make a pretty good forensic scientist!!

Talitha: Reminds me of Abby the most, tbh. However, I can’t see her as a forensic scientist only because she would want to be in the field. So, I think she would be more of a McGee like character, who’s specialty is computers/hacking & who spends a lot of time in forensics.

Aishlynn: Another difficult one. Aish, I feel, would be a lot like Tony in that she would be really good at going undercover?? I can’t really see her as a main team member though? Not in an NCIS setting, anyway.

Asa: Definitely Ducky. Maybe Palmer, in the later episodes, once he has his doctorate. A medical examiner through and through :D

Viviana: Definitely reminds me of Abby, in that she’s an eccentric goth-esque character. I could see her doing really well in forensics!

ALINORA

1. what are your oc’s natural abilities, things they’ve been doing since young?

Alinora has always been pretty fast and good at hiding? Like she was the best at hide and seek when she was small. (Conversely, she’s also very good at finding people.) She’s also real good at reading people.

2. what activities have they participated in?

I feel like she probably played like a lot of sports when she was younger? Not on any official teams---just for fun. I feel like she also raced a lot.

3. what abilities do they have that they’ve worked for?

Being a good fighter. Horseback riding. Sneaking. Identifying plants. Cooking. Public speaking. Playing piano & the lute.

4. what things are they bad at?

Magic. Intrapersonal communication. Opening up. Being vulnerable.

5. what is their most impressive talent?

Her aim. She’s real good at throwing things & getting them on-target.

ELAENA

1. does the way they do things portray their internal personality?

Sometimes, but it usually isn’t intentional. She likes to be mysterious.

2. do they do things that conform to the norm?

No.

3. do they follow trends or do their own thing?

Elaena does her own thing and always has.

4. are they up-to-date on the internet fads?

Oh, absolutely.

I’m not sure what his favorite fruit would be, tbh. For some reason I want to say like. Cherries or blackberries?

My first impulse is to say bananas because those are my least favorite fruit. However, I’m going to say lemons are Lyr’s least favorite fruit.

3. are there any foods they hate?

I feel like he’s not a big fan of like... tofu.

No.

I’m going to say either sushi or steak, but to tell the truth, I have no idea.

AVA

1. what is their hair color?

Brown.

2. what is their eye color?

Brown, or maybe more of like. Hazel.

3. how tall are they?

I imagine Ava as being pretty short, even though her brother is pretty tall. Somewhere around like, 5′4.

4. how old are they?

In TMQ she’s 29.

5. how much do they weigh?

I have no idea. I’m really bad at figuring out weights tbh.

TALITHA

1. are they honest?

I mean. It depends on who she’s talking to. But she generally tries to tell the truth to her friends.

2. can they tell if someone is lying?

I mean, it depends on who she’s talking to, again. She likes to think of herself as being pretty good at reading people, but there are some people who she can’t read.

3. is it obvious when they’re lying?

To some people. Alinora, for instance, can always tell when she’s lying. Lyr can tell sometimes? But not always.

4. have they lied about anything they regret lying about?

Yes.

5. have they told truths that have been spread against their will?

I don’t think so.

AISHLYNN

1. what is their sexuality?

She’s biromantic ace!

2. have they ever questioned their sexuality?

Yeah. It took her a while to accept that she was ace, because she already felt so different from other people.

3. have they ever questioned their gender? I don’t think so, no.

4. would/was their family be okay with them being LGBT? Absolutely.

5. how long would/did it take for them to come out?

Aishlynn has never like, officially come out??? Not because she’s ashamed but because she sees no reason as to why she should announce it.

probably, yeah.

hmmm. If she had the extra cash, yeah.

Oh, absolutely

She’s been almost arrested because someone recognized her from her wanted posters.

Oh, very. She doesn’t want to get hauled off to jail (again).

Happy STS! If your characters got their hands on a memory potion and could choose one memory to forget, which one would they choose and why? (could be for both TMQ or Pirates Bane, your chocie!)

ooooooooh :o this is such a good question!!

Alinora would probably only take the memory if she could be really selective about what she forgets, lmao. Because she only wants to forget one particular moment---not the whole day or whole hour, even. Just one particular sight / image. But, it’s the day that she found out her home had been conquered and that her fiancee had been dead for their whole trip---she’d taken it with a shapeshifter instead. & the shifter sheds the skin that it made and it’s this lump of bloody flesh that looks like her fiancee and she just. wants to forget that. but not the rest of it, because it’s important to remember so that she can keep in mind why she’s fighting.

Neither Lyr nor Ava really have a particular memory that they want to get rid of? Not that they don’t have bad memories, just, nothing particularly traumatic enough that they want to forget forever.

Talitha, much like Alinora, has more of a moment that she wants to forget than like... a whole day or hour. But, she wants to forget the sightless and bloody bodies of her sister, brother in law, and nephew.

Aishlynn wants to forget... a lot. All the years she spent believing that Kai’os was the person to follow, all the moments she shared that make fighting them so hard. ‘Course, that would take away a big part of her arc. Because she chose to do the right thing even though it was hard, even though she feels less like she belongs among the other main characters. But it would make her heartache less, or so she thinks.

The Princess and the Frog - Would your muse accept someone else’s help in fulfilling their dreams, or would they want to earn it for themself?

Alinora doesn’t really like accepting help from anyone. It’s not really out of pride so much as it is that she doesn’t want to be a burden? And, okay, maybe it is a bit out of pride. But, if her goals/dreams involve other people---like taking her kingdom back in The Martyr Queen or saving the world in the rest of the series---then she’s got no problem accepting help. One thing she’s bad at, though, is asking for help.

Elaena doesn’t really like seeking outside help. She has her reasons, and they’re not bad ones, but. If it had been up to her they probably never would have gone to Alinora for help.

Lyr doesn’t mind help! Help makes things smoother, easier, and more fun. He’ll reach out if need be, accept it if its offered, and offer it to others if he sees the opportunity. But, he also grew up in a very community-minded Slaeyr clan!

Ava is also okay with asking, giving, or getting help! Both she and Lyr were raised in a clan that worked together when needed and stressed the importance of having people you could rely on.

Talitha doesn’t mind asking for help with some things, but there are things that she considers private and would prefer to do herself. Like, for instance, when she sought revenge for her sister’s death.

Aishlynn is very, very bad at both accepting and asking for help. It’s a pride thing. It’s also a trust thing, as she’s put her trust in the wrong people before, and gotten burned for it. It is, as the series goes on and she develops close relationships with the cast, something that she works on.

Impulsive -

Talitha - I think we all knew that she was going to be number one on this, tbh. Her impulse control is actually pretty good considering the number of things she’s tempted to do on a daily basis, but... uh. You wouldn’t know that.

Lyr - He follows his heart, first and foremost, and he jumps into a lot of situations without thinking or stopping to question things.

Alinora - She’s right there with Lyr & Tali most of the time--rushing off into danger without a second thought. She loves the thrill of it--but she’s also more than a little self-destructive right now.

Erratic

Viviana - Delights in being erratic/unpredictable. She prefers for people to always be guessing at what she’ll do or say next. (Though, it does become a bit frustrating during the duration of her amnesia, as no one can quite tell her what she used to be like.)

Talitha - Close tie with Viv, tbh. She delights in being unpredictable, much like Viv. It’s partially for the attention, but also because it makes her feel safer in a way, to know that few can predict what she does next. (It also helps that most of the time, she’s winging it.)

Elaena - While not necessarily erratic, Elaena is hard to read and hard to predict, making her the only other candidate I could think of for this list!

The Emperor’s New Groove - What animal would you associate your muse with? Why?

I associate Lyr with wolves (pack animals, loyal, good hunters, more wild than dogs but still very dog-like) and bears (bc bear hugs, and fiercely protective).

Alice in Wonderland - What does your muse often dream of? Do they have strange dreams? Pleasant ones? Nightmares?

He mostly dreams of being in the water, swimming down down down into the darkest depths. Sometimes these are pleasant dreams. Sometimes they’re strange. Sometimes they’re nightmares.

He also has nightmares about his mom’s death on occasion.
