Just curious, no pressure or anything, but are you still doing a second bracket? Or did submissions stagnate too much?
I’m still planning to do the bracket but submissions definitely stagnated. I might just do a 16 bracket instead of a 32 like last time to make it faster and easier.
#Talking to the Moon#stand-inthe-rain#Moon Speaks#thanks for asking! I should really reblog that post again and get more interest#If you want want to see your favorite red and yellow duo or character get in check the sheets and see how many submissions they have#The minimum requirement for me to consider them is 3 but this round I might put in a bunch of personal picks lol

Halloween prompts year 2 day 9
Au where the accident happened when Danny was like, 7 and Danny starts to see his parents are really crappy people. Like full narcissists. Luckly hes young enough that the conditioning hasn't set in and he's just mad about it
Tired of being talked over, ignored, neglected, guilt tripped and otherwise emotionally abused, he wanders around the ghost zone to vent his frustrations through combat. Eventually a fortune teller/seer/oracle ghost makes him an offer, a fraction of his power in return for finding the family he seeks. He agrees and she tells him his birth fathers name is Jason Peter Todd and that he will require proof to believe this.
She then punts him into the portal that opened up behind him.
Danny seeks out Jason, excited for a family who might actually care about him. But when he finds him he remembers the ladys words and decided he needed to steal some of his dads hair for a dna test so he'll have proof both to prove to himself that the lady wasn't just messing with him and to show Jason. The problem was that Jason was a ridiculously light sleeper and kept waking up to Danny standing in the doorway/ at the foot of his bed/ next to his bed/ or invisible and making the room cold out of frustration.
Jason is freaking out cause he thinks hes hallucinating his child self standing in doorways and around his bed at night.
...and when he discovers the truth he has violent flashbacks to when he was searching for his birth mother and how that ended. So hes like extra overprotective of the kid that he suddenly can't freaking find cause he scared the crap outta him earlier thinking it was a demon/ manifestation of his trauma or something
Bruce and his flock are not coming within 500 feet of his kid
Unfortunately, Danny discovers that Jason is a crime lord as well as some of the horrible things he had done and thinks Jason is worse than his adoptive parents. It probably doesn't help that Jason threatened him and scared him off before finding out who the kid was.
Now Danny is trying to silence his sobbing (and failing) outside inthe Gotham rain. He's terrified and one of the other bats find him and they wind up chasing him around as a group because this kid is so slippery and obviously terrified.
Who would have thought that the only person he would be willing to talk to Robin, a fellow kid
#halloween prompts#prompts#dpxdc#fanfiction prompts#danny phantom#danny fenton#jason todd#danny is now very distrustful of adults#danny will only talk to Damian for a while and miiight hide behind him#does damian become protective? yes. does damian let anyone touch his charge? not unless they have fur.

𝑻𝑵𝑽 🤝 𝑻𝑻𝑷𝑫
The blow comes, and instead of sprawling across the entryway of her own castle, the ground disappears and the rest of the world vanishes again as she falls. Because she must endure an entire night of her worst fears, she plummets through darkness with no end in sight. She even has wings, shadowy and edged in flame like the Night Veil itself, but she cannot use them. The air rips at her hair and smoke streams from her wingtips, but they flap uselessly around her body. She drops, ears full of the whipping wind and the laughter of the one who devised her kingdom’s curse.

best gene focused episodes of bob's burgers (in my opinion):
boys just wanna have fungus (s10ep2) AMAZING bob and gene episode he's so cute and funny in this episode AND he ends up saving the day at the end in a very non-confrontational way :) i love him wearing his lil rain jacket and going shopping for groceries for bob ("we'd probably last three days in an apocolypse with you around, gene" "a long weekend :D" makes me CRY they're so sweet)
the laser-inth (s7ep18) another great bob and gene episode!!! gene was so sweet and excited in this episode and bob was a great dad too :) love them bonding over their love and enjoyment of music and bob explaining the show to gene
a-sprout a boy (s12ep19) gene's passion for his game was so cute and he just loves playing!!! his game where he dresses up a cat in cute outfits!!!!! and i love the ending where he shows bob the song he was writing with the help of his game and bob is like wow thats actually really impressive (and i love that he goes on online discussion forums for his cat game and he was planning to make an account to post his song) really good parenting from bob in this episode in a way that isnt just the usual "supportive and chill no matter what his kids do" but actually challenging them. bob and gene grow vegetables in this episode also :)
mr lonely farts (s11ep14) this episode is such an interesting look into how gene processes negative or scary emotions and how he copes under stress like everything with ken was SUPER interesting to me!!!! him getting trapped in the basement and making his bun burger :') his song was really great and as a bonus both subplots are entertaining too
drumforgiven (s10ep11) cute episode!!! focuses mostly on louise feeling the need to protect gene and how gene deals with conflict and disagreements differently from other people, its always interesting to see him get into an arguement with one of his sisters :0 also his drum machine music was kinda banger
y tu ga-ga tambien (s8ep9) this barely counts as a gene focused episode but im including it bcuz his speech at the end is very good <3 i have felt exactly like him MANY times in my life and feeling like you're being excluded from something everyone else is doing is so hard. he's such a sweetheart
large brother, where fart thou? (s7ep5) amazing episode focused on gene and louise's relationship and how gene doesnt act like a typical older brother. him trying to be responsible when they were left home alone and he was in charge of watching louise was cute he tried so hard omg!!!! obviously the ending where gene stands up for louise is like one of the best gene moments in the show. anytime shrimp :')
stand by gene (s6ep12) once again BARELY a gene focused episode but he's in the title so it counts!!!! love to see all the kids friends hanging out together and going on an adventure and gene giving everyone piggybacks was nice to see :) just a very enjoyable episode tbh
the gene and courtney show (s6ep7) very sweet episode and i love the ending!!! i love their chemistry in this episode and the awknowledgement that they're better off as friends. gene's song for courtney at the end of this one is very sweet and kinda heartbreaking but it really shows how emotionally mature he is and how he deals with relationships <3
itty bitty ditty committee (s5ep17) i disagree with this episodes premise that gene isnt a real musician BUT its great to see him learning to play with the music teacher and him forming a band that continues to be a thing through later episodes and the movie!!! also louise and tina are great sisters in this episode
lil hard dad (s5ep14) gene saves the day once again!!!! not one of my favorite episodes tbh but gene is great in this episode and he's so funny when bob is like no i dont need a ladder and gene is like ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT and obviously the ending with him is great solid gene episode 10/10 (and him wanting to be brave and strong so that he can protect his sisters like how bob does is adorable)
best burger (s5ep5) GENE EPISODE OF ALL TIME episode that confirms his adhd also..... love him trying to help his dad and apologizing for screwing everything up and getting distracted. love bob saying that he loves gene for who he is and he doesnt want him to change. "im sorry i screw up today dad im sorry i screw up all the time" still gets me. he is so Little :(
gene it on (s4ep20) cheerleading episode :D honestly gene is just so funny in this episode i love how he's clearly Not into whatever linda has going on and bob is also so supportive its great. lives were changed
the unnatural (s3ep23) nobody expected me to put an early season episode on this list but gene is so silly in this episode i love him dearly <3 he's just a baby boy and he sucks so bad at playing baseball
oh row you didn't (s13ep12) OKAY LET ME EXPLAIN this episode is like a solid 6/10 and the moral at the end is okay but something about seeing gene's shitty green origami frog hung up in the restaurant next to the article about the rower is so sweet it almost made me cry when i was rewatching it.... also he's so funny when he and bob are rowing the boat In ocean super safe Just remember the good times
also bonus shoutout to the plight before christmas (s13ep10) which is NOT a gene episode but his subplot is so good it had to be mention he's such a talented musician!!!! also v for valentine-detta (s8ep8) which is a tina episode but i love his subplot with bob. their relationship is sooo special to me
#i might have forgotten an episode or two possibly??#also i dont dislike gene episodes that ARENT on this list he's my sweet baby boy but these are the episodes that i think represent him#in the best way#txt#bob's burgers

Strong Foundations
This is something I wanted to write, to show appreciation to the lads who do the groundwork.
Often the work no-one else is willing to do!
Since my parents moved in to this bungalow nearly 20 years ago, there’s always been an issue with pipes. This is more noticeable at Christmas when the gang is all here, and the bathroom is used more than usual. We get a flood on the drive.
Dad was a plumber, so we managed it ourselves. We are careful not to flush anything down the loo that shouldn’t be going down there - hair from the hairbrush, wet wipes - anything other than toilet roll, and we have been constantly reminded!! We’ve restricted time int he shower, tried to restrict the younger family memebers who love various potions and lotions from going crazy inthe shower or the sink, but alas, we still get floods on the drive.
This year, mum decided to get it sorted - and it turned out that there was half a brick blocking our flow into the main sewer - to cut a long story short - so matter how many times we tried to manage it and unblock our drain by the house, it would never have really done the job.
It was time for the big guys to come in and dig up the drive.
What we all thought would be pretty straight forward actually led to the most enormous hole dug out we could ever have imagined. I took mum to the hospital in the morning to have an eye operation and by the time we returned, our drive was a huge crevasse to traverse.
Photos - Richard and Nick - the grafters. Nick standing at the side of the hole with the bridge to get me and mum across to the house.
"I left school at 16. Straight C’s for GCSEs. Always wanted to work outside, so got an apprenticeship with a landscape gardening company. I did 1 day a week at Bishop Burton College then 5 days at work. Didn’t finish the 2 year course as I felt I was learning more at work and money was better if I left the course. Started doing landscaping which was paving, fencing, decking turfing etc . then moved on to do conservatory bases which was foundations and concrete work. I prefer the groundwork side of construction which is drainage, foundations, concrete and digger driving. Never wanted the stress of becoming a bigger company so decided to do smaller jobs that I can do on my own so now I try to concentrate on drainage jobs as they are a challenge to solve the problems and not many people like the hard graft of manually digging and working with 💩 but it’s never bothered me. But as I have a lot of experience in different aspects of construction I get asked to do different jobs each week. Love being self employed. In this industry you don’t necessarily need qualifications, it’s more about experience. So I’ve now had 19 years working outside." -- Nick Barr - Groundwork
What’s more noteable than the hole is the local lads who did the work. Richard has done work for our family since my parents moved in. My dad was friends with his dad, Vic. Years ago I used to love sitting in the pub with dad chatting to Vic, a true Gentleman, always happy and smiling, and I’d often bump into him cycling past on his bike, curly hair bouncing and his knees sticking out, he always makes me smile, his dear wife too. Lovely family. Richard did our conservatory when my parents first moved in and then in 2020, he ‘project managed’ the construction of the extension on our kitchen. Nick came in to the groundwork, and other local lads to do the other parts, all friends and Richard finally finishing off with the roof. It was all completed, due to their extra hard work, in dad’s last few months - he wanted it finished for mum before he moved on from this world. And we use this room every day and dad’s never far from our thoughts.
I’d like to note that these lads work really, really hard, in all weather, come rain or shine, with great determination and with pride in their work. They go above and beyond to do a good job and are kind and helpful in their manner. I include my dear dad and husband in this too - these are reliable men built from finer stuff, something very genuine and of strong foundations. I would describe them as gentlemen, although I know this will have them laughing. Thank you to you all.

As requested by @stand-inthe-rain (also I was going to do this but forgot!) let's take a little look at the types of our Gym Leaders!
The most popular Gym Leader type is Water, at 8! (I'm counting the Striaton trio as one for each of the three types they use.) But down the bottom we have 1 each for Dark type or Mixed type Gym Leaders. The full lineup is like this:
Water (8)
Electric (6)
Grass (6)
Ice (6)
Normal (5)
Fighting (5)
Rock (5)
Ghost (4)
Psychic (4)
Fire (4)
Dragon (4)
Bug (4)
Flying (3)
Poison (3)
Steel (2)
Fairy (2)
Ground (2)
Dark (1)
Mixed (1)
But when we compare which types did best, this is the amount of representation for each type for the preliminary winners:
Ghost (4)
Electric (3)
Psychic (3)
Water (3)
Grass (3)
Normal (2)
Fire (2)
Ice (2)
Flying (2)
Dragon (1)
Steel (1)
Fairy (1)
Dark (1)
Poison (1)
Fighting (1)
Rock (1)
Mixed (1)
Bug (0)
Ground (0)
Poor Ground and Bug didn't get any leaders in the main tournament! But is it any surprise that Ghost has the most considering the last tournament? This is the results as a chart:
The last thing for types, let's see which types were the most successful in terms of the pecentage of their leaders getting into the main tournament! Ghost, Dark, and Mixed all got 100% of their leaders in, closely followed by Psychic with 75% and Flying with two-thirds! Electric, Grass, Fire, Steel, and Fairy all got 50%, and the rest got less than half. Besides the obvious 0% for Bug and Ground, the least successful types were Fighting and Rock with only 20%.
And that's it! Thank you for requesting this and reminding me to do it- I'm always up for finding out more stats!
Best Pokémon Gym Leader Tournament- Preliminary Round Stats Breakdown!
Since this competition is far bigger in scope than the last one, I definitely had to split up the stats into two halves- the preliminary rounds and the tournament proper! I've finally had the time to analyse the data and found some interesting stuff.
Starting off, across 16 matches, a total of 5917 votes were cast! This works out to an average of 369.9 votes per match. On average, each region recieved 739.6 votes- though the real breakdown is quite different.
Paldea received a sizable 965 votes across the two matches, with the lowest amount of votes going to both Hoenn and Sinnoh receiving the exact same 603 votes. The regions fall in this order:
Paldea- 965 votes (16.3%)
Unova- 850 votes (14.4%)
Kanto- 781 votes (13.2%)
Galar- 766 votes (12.9%)
Johto- 738 votes (12.5%)
Kalos- 611 votes (10.3%)
Hoenn & Sinnoh- 603 votes each (10.2%)
The graph looks like this:
In terms of individual matches, the most voted on was Paldea 1 with 568 votes- featuring Larry, Grush, Katy, and Iono. The least voted on match was Hoenn 2 with 285 votes- featuring Flannery, Tate & Liza, Juan, and Norman.
If we start to look at the contestants- as seen in round, Larry got the most votes individually at 234! This was 26 times more than the lowest ranked competitor- poor Brycen only getting 9 votes. Since we already know the top few from the seeding in round 1, let's take a look at the bottom 5 in terms of vote totals:
Brycen: 9 votes
Lt. Surge: 18 votes
Pryce: 19 votes
Brawly: 20 votes
Gordie: 21 votes
When it comes to vote percentages- who won and lost with the biggest and smallest proportion of votes? Well the biggest victory goes to Flannery! The only person to break 50%, she won with 56.5%. On the other end, it's Brycen again with only 2.2%.
Before we move on to the preliminary winners- let's just see who was closest to making it through but didn't? The most votes for someone knocked out in the prelims went to Whitney, who was beaten out by Falkner, 126 to her 122 votes. The closest margin however, was between Candice and Roark- she beat him by just 1%- or 3 votes- 29.7% to 28.7%.
Finally, let's look at the preliminary winners. An interesting tidbit is the amount of women making it through! The winners have a gender ratio of 14:19, male to female contestants. (Remember, Tate and Liza made it through so there's one more person than there is competitor slots!)
In terms of pure numbers though, of course Larry got the most votes, with Tate and Liza getting the least at only 62. Because of the way the contest was structured that is significantly less than several contestants who just had the misfortune of going up against more popular opponents! For percentages- Kabu had the slimmest win at only 18% in his matchup.
The last bits of data we'll look at is how the different regions fared when looking at their winners. Paldea's winners had the most votes between them with 696, and Sinnoh had the least at 412. This also translates to the average seed per region:
Paldea- 6.5 (696 votes)
Johto- 13.75 (513 votes)
Kanto- 15 (497 votes)
Unova- 16 (482 votes)
Kalos- 18.5 (456 votes)
Galar- 19.25 (450 votes)
Hoenn- 20.5 (420 votes)
Sinnoh- 22.5 (412 votes)
Lastly, taking a look at which winners were most popular in their region- we can see that the Kalos leaders took the biggest vote share. They won a total of 74.6% of their region's votes, more than Paldea's close second place of 72.1%. The inverse saw Unova's leaders have the smallest vote share in their region, possibly due to how many contestants were splitting the vote up- they got 56.7% of the votes.
And that's all for now! If there was anything I didn't cover that you wanted to find out, let me know and I can update this post or we'll get to it in the next one for the main tournament! Thank you for being as interested in this as I am!

A 🖊 for Lyr!
my boy!!
(also, tumblr *refused* to publish the original ask, so i’m retyping this.)
gives The Best hugs $ cuddles bc he is Big and Stronk but also Soft in places.
super good with hair! he eventually ends up being the one in charge of like… cutting the groups hair? and also styling. talitha needs the most work bc her ‘do is so short and needs lots of maintenance.
also an excellent cook! though, at this point, he hasn’t really had the chance to blossom yet, as the only place he’s really been able to cook is over an open campfire.
one of the jobs he used to do when he was still with his clan / wandering slayer group was basket weaving! he got pretty good at it—and honestly, weaving in general.
i want to say he’s also good at sleight of hand, just because i think that would be a cute trait to give him!
[ send 🖊 for character headcanons! ]

I started following you because many of my mutuals were already following you so I saw your replies or reblogs of their posts a lot and you always had such great responses and seemed like a lovely person.
I do talk a lot, it’s true. And I have noticed that the additions I add onto posts tend to blow up or stay on the popularly reblogged versions lol
Thanks for being here!

@stand-inthe-rain I understood as they wanted a bigger scale (like, up to 10, or the option of 1.5, 2.5 etc), but if this is what you meant, anon, then yes, 5 is the highest and best rating you can give
For ratings, are five the best?
Errr maybe not, but it's faster and there are many movies 🤷 so choose wisely xD

“Asher,” a familiar voice says, and it again clears the haze in his head. “Do you know where you are?" Brown eyes float above him, surrounded by tan skin and a crease between dark brows. A delicate golden crown crests a waterfall of midnight black waves. Shadows slice through his mind. Fire and furies and a scorched voice full of embers. “Deadlands,” Asher manages, his throat scratchy. The princess straightens and he immediately regrets his choice of words. Her frown deepens. She looks over her shoulder at the guard behind her and back to him. “Is that really what people call this place?"

hello beautiful person! once you get this you must share 5 random facts about yourself and pass it on to your ten favorite followers!
Okay so I got this ages ago, and I’ve been meaning to respond but I kept forgetting lol. Not gonna tag anyone since I’m not good at the chain thing, but feel free to do it!
1. I speak French! I’ve been learning the language for around 6.5 years, now. I’m actually studying in Angers, France at l’Université d’Angers next semester!
2. I’m majoring in French, English Education, and minoring in Creative Writing.
3. I’m Christian, and I feel that I must apologize for That Side™ of the Jesus Fandom. Don’t worry, fellow queers, because I completely get it.
4. I fully intend to move to Canada once I graduate. My mental issues will thank me for the universal healthcare...
5. I’ve been working on my Threads of Reality series for around 7 years! I came up with Kaetren Sol as a character in 2012, and then really started to conceptualize an original story with him in 2014. Things have changed significantly since that time...

Hi Undine! So I initially started following you because you reblogged the writeblr follow train started by BrynWrites, because that post served as my introduction to the writeblr community. I loved the idea of your WIP For Queen and Country, so I followed to watch where that went. That was why I started following you, and even though you don't post a lot about your writing, I am still following you because you have such a positive presence in the community that makes it a better place. :)
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it!! I love being mutuals with you!!!
And ughhh i really need to post more writing,,, i’m trying,,, i swear it,,,
Your entry has been noted :)

@stand-inthe-rain Galarian Meowth was added back into the tournament as the best performing loser in order to take us to an even 32 contestants.
Galarian Farfetch'd will appear in a later matchup.
Did Hisuian Sneasel not get to be in the tournament? :(
If you look at the pinned post, the top 7 seeds will be added into the tournament starting in the next round!
Though, actually, since we'll have 31 Pokemon, some may get to skip ahead to R3... Unless we add one (1) Pokemon to R2 to balance it out.
(A brief explanation for those who aren't familiar: Basically, if you have any number of participants in a bracket that don't equal a power of 2 (2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64...), some of the participants will skip ahead to the next round so that the NEXT round will have a power of 2 number of participants.)
(Now, I tried to do this manually, but I was having a hard time figuring it out, so I just ended up grabbing three 8-Pokemon chunks for the first round, since I knew I could make the matchups for at least those properly. Was this the smartest way? Probably not. But I did technically throw the tournament together on very little sleep.)
Anyway, we can prevent the skipping ahead in R2 problem by picking a Pokemon, but the question is which one.

Happy storyteller saturday! What are your OC's career goals? Will they achieve that, or it is a dream that will never come to fruition?
Vasco’s career goal would be to have better mastery of both light and dark magic, perhaps even move up from just research to even teaching “dark magic” at the Academy. At this point, no idea if he will achieve this goal or not.
Darwin’s career goal was to have NASA fund his time machine creation...Instead he was fired and he’s still figuring out his new career ambitions in his new research position.

🍿 for the writeblr positivity ask game!
Send me an emoji in an ask and I’ll…
🍿 — Tell you something I really love about my writing!
I’m not one to gush about my own writing as I have extremely bad days where I feel like it isn’t good enough, but I will say something I’m proud of in regards to my writing is that I’m decent at writing relationships. Good ones, bad ones, romantic ones, platonic ones, I do pride myself in my ability to portray relationships.

The word "fire" for your ask game!
Thank you!! I’ll do one for each WIP :D
Sisterhood of Blood - “Let me escort you,” Rosalind insisted, lowering her voice until it was gentle and sorrowful. What did she have to be sorrowful about? Swallowing her need to scream, she whirled around halfway up the stairs to fire back at the woman.
Love Is - A fuzzy carpet of a rug sat just in front of the ashy fireplace, absolutely littered with dog hair.
