i would give layla a happier childhood, with parents who were Actually Supportive bc boy would that have helped

and i would give fox a Really Nice Basketball and maybe a better truck, because hers breaks down a lot, and those things would make her very happy

hey kat!! i’m going to take this from a modern standpoint just bc there aren’t really things like movies in my wip’s setting haha

atlas: i love reading nonfiction. especially about history.

elios: it’s literally so boring, but he reads it when he’s moping around. i might try to cook some of my favorite comfort foods. i’m a decent cook.

atlas: no. no he’s not. last time he tried to make toast, he set the toaster on fire. how do you even —

her favorite meal is traditional mashed plantains with red onions and firebird eggs - the country of tamaniara (where her mother is from) is heavily based off the dmonican republic, and the mashed plantains are based off mangu - caterina generally prefers the traditional food from her tamani heritage

The Emperor’s New Groove - What animal would you associate your muse with? Why?

I associate Lyr with wolves (pack animals, loyal, good hunters, more wild than dogs but still very dog-like) and bears (bc bear hugs, and fiercely protective).

Alice in Wonderland - What does your muse often dream of? Do they have strange dreams? Pleasant ones? Nightmares?

He mostly dreams of being in the water, swimming down down down into the darkest depths. Sometimes these are pleasant dreams. Sometimes they’re strange. Sometimes they’re nightmares.

He also has nightmares about his mom’s death on occasion.

Happy STS! Who's your favorite OC, and what's the best and worst thing about them?

Oh, no. This is hard so I’m going to pick my favorite male and female OC because this is my blog and I make the rules. 😉 (jk pls don’t hate me.)

Female: Vlarovena Irinushka “Irina” Voronin because she is fiery, outspoken, challenges those who try to put her in a box but she does it all with a sophisticated air that demands she be taken seriously. She’s the strength that I would love to have for myself and I just love being in her headspace! The best thing about her is her drive to be a respected woman at court through sophisticated grace and strong will. The worst thing about her is a her slightly inflated sense of self that can make her come off as elitist.

Male: Lord Artur Valine, hands down. He is conflicted, sad, optimistic, helpful, selfless, and someone who will give you the shirt off of his back and then lecture you on how to not lose yours again. He’s had so much heartbreak and pain but he still tries to find a positive way to make sure that heartbreak never happens to someone else. The best thing about him is his humanitarian heart that is willing to help anyone. The worst thing about him is that he can be incredibly judgemental and can hold grudges against people for years.

Happy Storyteller Saturday! If your OCs had to write a short story, what would it be about?

Another Storyteller Sunday oops

This! Is! Such an interesting ask to think about, how wonderful!

Some of my characters are already natural storytellers, Dione and Colin in particular!

Dione has written multiple short stories in the past, mostly based on or inspired by personal experiences, especially encounters with extremely out-of-the-ordinary events or people! Most of her stories are incredibly poetic and abstract, focusing on simple things and small scenes, and the big changes that can arise from them. Her main facet for her creativity is her poetry though, so it makes sense. She’s never shared any of her writing with anyone else.

Colin tells stories all the time! He wouldn’t be able to write anything down himself, but if someone wanted to act as a scribe, he’d definitely be up for it! Many of his stories are passed down from others he’s listened to, although he generally puts a twist on them to make them more interesting! There are also original ones he’s come up with himself, typically inspired by or based on personal experiences, exaggerated or not.

Now, getting into the non-story creators...

Celestine’s conventional creativity skills are actually... terrible. Any sort of art, music? She has no interest at all, and refuses to try doing anything creative herself. Her invention making is technically a form of art, but she doesn’t count that, since it’s based more on actually useful mathematics and logic (according to her). But! If for some reason she was forced to come up with a short story? It’d probably be the darkest, most morbid, gory story you’ve ever read, focusing on a character getting revenge on someone who wronged them. Hmm.

As for Phoenix? She doesn’t write creatively either--not really, anyways. She’s probably tried creating stories once or twice, but she’s never really had the motivation to get into it. She can write just fine, but she’d likely focus on nonfiction detailing events that have happened to her. She technically already does that, writing the accounts of weather conditions and events to be copied down in the ship’s log, so? Maybe she’s already writing short stories?

Song I wish was longer: Heart of Stone!! I love soft songs!!! i want more of soft songs!!!

Song I wish was shorter: I honestly don’t know cause I guess my least fav is Haus of Holbein but that’s v short and I don’t want it not there so??????

Song I still don’t know all the words to: hmmm most of them. I haven’t listened to it that much but today i learned the lyrics to Six!!!

Song that honestly deserves an award or five: Six!! it’s punny. It’s funny. It deserves all the awards (Olivier awards come through). But also Heart of Stone. 

Song that’s terrible but I still love: really gonna contradict myself but Haus of Holbein!!!! the beat is amazing and you just really want to get down on it. 

Song that’s really good but I hate: none. I love all of them. I love my literal queens. 

Song I think could change the world: Six. Stop shitting on these women and start slutshaming Henry VIII. Also female empowerment (kinda also the same for Ex-Wives). 

Song I wish I’d written: Six, cause of the puns. I really love puns.
