how many members are in the polycule? how are they related to each other?

four in the main polycule. technically they're all together in one big quad, but within that, sebastian and jonathan are married, caspar and luca are married, sebastian has a romantic relationship with caspar and with luca. caspar and jonathan are like besties who fuck sometimes and also built a life together but it's not reaaaally romantic. and luca and jonathan are like,, doing their best lmao. they like each other, but they don't have an awful lot in common, and they mostly bond over their relationships with the others.

alongside that, jonathan has a load of other partners who come and go, they aren't important to the overall narrative. caspar has a baby with his best friend (spoilers) and tbh their co-dependent toxic ass relationship pre-dates any of his other relationships. it's not really romantic, though, just like a co-dependent platonic sexual mess. sebastian has a bunch of subs who aren't important. caspar has a bunch of people he fucks and dates who also aren't important.

i like to think luca has a girlfriend at some point, but i'm not sure if that's canon or not. she's called gracie and she is as soft and sweet as he is and it's very adorable but god knows if it actually happens or not. i like to think it might.

14. what’s the craziest polycule drama they’ve experienced so far?

hhhhhh. the time luca and jonathan trick sebastian and caspar into getting back together by trapping them in an abandoned cabin in the middle of the woods and driving off??? the time they all find out caspar knocked up billie before he does and thinks he ran away to avoid telling them but actually he's just gone to face the mother of his dead ex boyfriend who his father murdered ten years earlier and then they get into a massive fight about it and almost break up before realising that caspar has no fucking clue he got her pregnant and that's how he finds out he's gonna be a dad?????? the time caspar and sebastian break up because of billie and then she continues to scam sebastian out of thousands of dollars for two years by constantly claiming caspar is in trouble and needs bail out money while caspar is trying to off himself because he thinks sebastian abandoned him???????????????

28. what are their sexual dynamics like? is group sex frequent, or is it purely one-on-one?

GOOD QUESTION.

there are a lot of different dynamics here.

jonathan is a vanilla motherfucker. sebastian and jonathan have a very Been Married For Two Decades rhythm of missionary every so often. caspar and jonathan suck each other off after a night out. they have threesomes when the opportunity strikes. the whole reason sebastian and jonathan are poly is because they aren't all that sexually compatible, and it shows here.

sebastian and caspar, on the other hand, are kinky as fuck and having a great fucking time. there's a sex dungeon in their basement. it's the first room in the house that they build. when they have kids, they hide the secret entrance behind a bookcase. they get up to a lot of stuff in there. i'm sure you can use your imagination.

luca doesn't love sex. sex for him is fairly inconsequential. he went a long time never thinking about it and he could very happily continue to never think about it, except he married the most hypersexual little gremlin he's ever known and is dating another one so he has to think about it. at first, sex is something between him and caspar only. it's soft and slow and very occasional, usually preceded by caspar being incredibly sweet and it being late and him being sleepy and happy and deciding that being as close to caspar as possible sounds good. he likes caspar being inside of him, likes the sounds caspar makes, and how pretty he is, and how happy it makes caspar. the rest is sort of inconsequential but it's nice enough if he's in the right mood for it.

eventually, this grows to include sebastian as well. caspar and sebastian fuck constantly and it makes luca feel left out if he's always got to hide in another room until they're done, or it makes him feel guilty if they're not fucking just for him. eventually they find compromises. luca is happy to read in the corner until they're done, or take part in small ways, or even in bigger ways sometimes. at some point he finds joy in some of the non-sexual aspects of kink and that opens up a whole world of oppurtunities.

(caspar and sebastian are generally very happy to Not Have Sex and just chill with luca instead, but they have to be extremely fucking subtle about it or it just makes luca feel worse)

nope, although luca does have a good friend who is aro/ace and maybe when i get closer to writing that whole thing they will end up in a qpr but that is a future me thing to contemplate.

i have two other aromantic major characters actually but they are Caspar's Dads asdasdasd so about as far from being apart of the polycule as it is possible to be.

WELL. god knows if this is still canon bc i've messed around with jonathan a lot lately BUT. traditionally speaking, jonathan has a boyfriend called nicolo and sebastian hates him. nicolo hates seb too. nico is in jonathan's band and honestly he's just a low level dick and he rubs sebastian the wrong way. i think nico wants jonathan to commit to him more than jonathan really wants to, and nico resents seb for being married to him, and sebastian can very clearly see what nico is up to and jonathan doesn't see it at ALL and it's just generally very messy. plus then they all get famous and they're touring together a lot and hhhhhh yeah drama. big drama.

a million years ago, sebastian and jonathan got married, and yes probably initially their relationship was monogamous but then sebastian wanted to flog people and jonathan wanted to fuck girls and they were both like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and so it opened the fuck up.

when sebastian falls in love with caspar, they are obviously never monogmous because sebastian is married and caspar has a viciously co-dependent platonic-yet-very-sexual relationship with billie to maintain.

and then when caspar starts dating luca, that is also obviously not monogmous, because he is already with sebastian at this point, and his previous adventures into monogamy have resulted in a big fat bright red nope no thank you never gonna happen.

so yeah !! maybe initially a tiny bit monogomous, but not for very long.

8. how did each member realize they were polyamorous? did they always know, or was there some sort of epiphany?

sebastian and jonathan kinda fell into it, the open marriage came first and one GIANT polyamory hyperfixation rabbit hole spiral later, sebastian had come to some realisations and probably just told jonathan he was also poly, and jonathan was like sick okay, and that was that.

for caspar, it's always been an undercurrent of sorts. he has too much love and too much energy for it to all go to one place, and monogamy has always come with a sense of suffocation. sebastian was the one to introduce him to the real idea of polyamory, but i'm not sure he ever had much of an epiphany about it so much as just thinking oh yeah no this is good this works i like this.

and then luca. well. luca's an interesting one, because he has absolutely no conception of romantic relationships outside of this one. he's not in a polyamorous relationship because he wants to be so much as because it's the most logical decision. probably, at least at first, if he had it his way he would have caspar all to himself. there is a lot of insecurity and jealousy there, but then he sort of accidentally falls in love with sebastian too, and it all works itself out from there.

20. how do each of the members deal with jealousy? how intense is the feeling?

sebastian and jonathan are pretty solid nowadays. back in the day, yeah sure, plenty of stupid petty fights about things they didn't know how to communicate about. they figured it out and learnt. at this point, sebastian gets annoyed when jonathan is doing something (or someone) reckless, but jonathan generally sees sebastian being with someone else as a great relief and sebastian generally sees jonathan being with someone else as a great time to get some reading done. it's only really a problem if sebastian is worried, and that's not so much jealousy as just him.

caspar is an attention whore, so yeah, okay, if sebastian is scene-ing with someone a lot and not paying him a Sufficient Amount Of Attention then he gets bratty about it, but it's easily resolved. otherwise, he doesn't have too much to be jealous about. he is much more inclined to be jealous of a long book or a board game or a new lego set stealing their attention than another person.

but LUCA. oh yeah. man. it's hard having your first and biggest love already be crazy head-over-heels in love with someone else who is everything you have ever wanted to be and also the complete opposite of you. he is SO jealous of sebastian for such a long time. luca has so many insecurities and sebastian, unwittingly, drags out every single one of them. suddenly, luca is no longer the center of caspar's world, and it takes him a long time to settle into this new reality and adapt to it. he's no good at sharing his feelings either, so it takes a little while for caspar to realise how much he's struggling with it. it's sebastian who picks up on it first and starts to mend some bridges. things all even out more once the relationship becomes more of a triad and their time is spent all together more often than one-on-one.

Was drunk and bored and getting annoyed at the ridiculous coverage of the US election so I decided to fix the place.

I'm from Australia where we only have 7 states, as such I have the (objectively correct) opinion that 50 is too many states, so I decided to cut it down to 10.

A few notes on my improved US map:

•Despite Illinois making the cut, Chicago is now in Michigan, due to the state getting the entire bank of its namesake.

•Boston is also in Michigan due to special exception.

•New York is now the capital of Pensylvania

•Yes that's how you spell Pensylvania

•The border of California is just roughly the Rockies, no need to overthink it.

•Making Florida bigger actually dilutes it's power, but Texas must be abolished

•Colorado should still be a rectangle, that's my mistake, I just couldn't be bothered fixing it.

•Alaska has been returned to Canada with a hand written apology

•All the random ass islands that the US forgot to pretend they didn't colonise have gained independence

Please let me know if there are any more improvements you can think of.

Edit: As a number of you have mentioned, Alaska never belonged to Canada, and giving it to them would be incredibly wrong when the native people have been trying to gain independence all this time.

Luckily, the apology note got lost in the mail in all the turmoil, so Canada never realised they're meant to have Alaska now. The Alaskans just start quietly self-governing and hoping the US and Canada don't notice, then after a few years they declare independence.

Nat pressed his nose into Quinn’s shoulder, then his lips. Through his fuzzy, spinning vision, he thought he saw goosebumps rush over Quinn’s bare arm. His lips parted and he pressed his teeth gently, harmlessly, into Quinn’s shoulder, and left them there for a moment.

“I want to bite you,” he mumbled. “No. I want to kiss you.”

Quinn seemed to be struggling to keep a smile out of their voice. “I’m not going to let you kiss me. You won’t remember any of this tomorrow.”

“Sure I will.”

“Nope. You won’t. Hey, Nat. Look at me.” Quinn lifted their head, and Nat lifted his. He blinked several times, his eyes refusing to focus, but he was sure it was the effort that counted. Quinn said, “If you remember this conversation tomorrow, then I’ll kiss you.”

Nat narrowed his eyes. “Is that a promise?”

“Yeah, sure. Why not?”

“Hm.” Nat placed his chin on Quinn’s shoulder. He was quiet for a few moments, trying to put his thoughts into words. He eventually lost his train of thought completely and lifted a hand to tug on a strand of Quinn’s hair. “Hey. Why do you use so much product in your hair? And so much perfume.”

“Because I like it.”

“No, you smell like chemicals all the time,” Nat said. “I’ve never once smelled what you smell like. Just—just—masks. All the way down.”

“Well, it’s a safety measure,” Quinn said. “You know how many vampires I deal with? I don't want to smell too human.”

“You can trust me. I wouldn't hurt you.”

“You just told me you wanted to bite me.”

“Kiss you. I said kiss you.” Nat twisted the strand of blonde around on his finger. It felt stiff and waxy. “Would be nice if it was longer, too. Then I could braid it like you do mine.”

“You don’t want to braid my hair.”

“I want to. I want to.” Nat shifted on the couch so he could come at Quinn’s head with both hands. “Maybe I’ll try.”

“You’re a very affectionate drunk, aren’t you?”

“You said vampires are supposed to be affectionate,” Nat said. “Hey. Hold still. Stop moving.”

“I’m not moving,” Quinn said. “You’re just dizzy.”

Nat’s brow furrowed. “Oh. You—you hold me still, then.”

Quinn laughed, the sound soft and warm. “You’re not moving either. Again, just dizzy.”

“Well, someone’s moving.”

“Fine,” Quinn said. They leaned to meet him, and wrapped their arms around him. Together they tipped sideways onto the couch. “Now we can both be still for a while.”
