July 2024 Check In

Hello, all!

Happy update day! Thank you for your support and patience while we work. This has been one of the busiest times for our team, and we’re making good progress. But it's challenging to share without sounding like a broken record. Lots of coding. Lots of numbers. Lots of items. So little time...!

But first, I must share solemn news. Our backdrop artist, Kzart, has passed away. He died of cardiac arrest just the day after our last update, where we previewed his wonderful work on the Cogwheel Outskirts.

This is a deep and mournful tragedy. Our heart goes out to his family, friends, and loved ones. Kzart was a welcome, cheerful, and bright part of the team, and the loss is devastating. May his memory be a blessing.

We are dedicating our work this month to his memory. We hope to ask your patience while we make decisions for future team members in the wake of his passing.

To start off, here are some asset updates.

New Icons

We’ve been picking away at icons. Populating the site itself with estimates for cooking, crafting, dailies, site store, and guild play has been a behemoth of a task which has taken weeks of calculating out delicate numbers, drop rates, and seeding tactics. We have an insane amount of spreadsheets. I’m very proud of how much we’ve figured out.

The young animals will be available as plain food in Alpha and part of Beta, but are designed in preparation for our Farming and Husbandry mechanic, explained more in this update!

And lastly, we’ve started work on the stone assets!

Harvest Stone, Metropolis Stone, and Luna Stone by Hydde

Above you see the Harvest Stone, Metropolis Stone, and Luna Stone. Paw-carved by catfolk out of various precious stones and the elusive Prismaline—Mewmoia’s magical mineral and the origin of modern magical technology—these stones act as a magical catalyst for sorcerers performing transmutation.

We also want to note: we see the discrepancy in the Harvest logo and its child assets. While we were working on the visual development, we found that the leaf was not only more recognizable as a symbol, but more reliably adaptable in different simplistic forms. We will be experimenting with replacing the vegetable in the Harvest logo with a leaf.

Recolors continue! This month, we have the Guard set.

We have begun our work on decor!

Our goal is to have a substantial amount of decor befitting every type of backdrop we are starting with. Our first set we are tackling is the Summer Natural set. We have sets known as Sea Faring, City Clearing, Academic, and Winter Natural planned as a starting roster.

NPC Sketches

Early last month, we shared a preview of the initial sketch for Wheatley and Crowley, the sitewide general store!

Initial feedback included a poor merge of cat-like anatomy and anthropomorphized character acting. We took this feedback, spent another day on visual development for NPCs, and updated our character design visual philosophy!

So, presenting…

And here is how they look on the website!

This sketch is still subject to change as we hash it out, line, and render it, but we’re excited to share what we’ve developed so far!

Wheatley and Crowley were the first NPCs ever developed during pre-production.

(Just as the Bovine was the first Mystic breed ever developed, and Sugar was the first color palette ever designed!)

So there is something a tad emotional about making it this far. Seeing them animated and on an actual game UI has been very rejuvenating. We’re nearing the end of this development hole!

So you want to form a team and join the Guild, huh? Meet Maven, your guildmaster. She’s rough, prickly, and can scare the faint of heart. Yet the Guild is dedicated to helping poor cats in need, in the wake of wastebeasts and outlaws terrorizing outskirt villages. You wonder who she is under that thorny exterior…

Maven is a primary character in the ongoing site plot. We have the technology for NPCs to emote during dialogue. Many story-focused NPCs will get this treatment. This means that Maven's expressions will change as you talk to her!

Everyone knows Winnipeg, the longhair chef from Luna. Introducing his twin sister, Winnifred! Winnifred sells husbandry and farming supplies, including young animals and seeds.

So let’s talk about the farm mechanic!

In Development - Farming and Husbandry

See the initial UIs for our major in-development mechanic.

Plant seeds on plots of land in your camp. Certain plants will raise or lower your soil quality, which in turn will affect how many items these plants yield. It’s up to you as the player to grow a variety of different plants to diversify your soil and get the most yield.

Husbandry will feature the same concept, utilizing livestock as opposed to plants. Grow different animals over time and maintain grass density to get the best quantity of items!

Lastly, some folks were curious about incense, how it works, and its attainment method.

Incense will be craftable, and its ingredients will be farmed! Incense ingredient seeds will be scattered around the game, including as reward drops for gameplay. It will take intentional cultivation to attain an incense item.

Because we had a few users who were curious to the specific ingredients of every incense scent, here is each Borough:

Luna = Lavender and Jasmine Sol = Cinnamon and Fennel Abyssal = Lotus and Sakura Zenith = Rosemary and Sage Harvest = Basil and Oregano Cogwheel = Saffron and Turmeric Metropolis = Patchouli and Vetiver

For testing until farming is implemented, items which would be farmed will be available to buy through Winnifred.

Cooking and Crafting

Lastly, a peak at the UI for the cook and craft mechanic!

We surveyed the playability of the original grid system and weighed the pros and cons of managing a grid and memorizing recipes in a multiplayer resource game, and ultimately decided that our platform and format doesn’t quite suit the crafting grid playstyle.

Instead, recipes and blueprints are found, added to your collection, and able to be insta-made.

We found the act of users individually adding items from storage to be tedious, and ultimately our original format would end up with users researching recipes on wiki articles instead of engaging in explorative play. While other games have crafting loops which incentivize exploration, the petsite setup as we have built it simply does not accommodate it without serious overhaul.

But we hoped to preserve some of that magic by including the “add ingredient” feature. Users will be able to discover new combinations by experimenting with add-ons. For example, a pizza recipe could become mushroom pizza by adding mushrooms!

Users may still end up just looking things up, but the mechanic itself is now not ultimately dependent on off-site research.

We are currently experimenting with how to include the NPCs in this UI format. Fear not that you do not see Winnipeg here. He will be in the game!

And that’s all we have for today. We know that a lot of users are holding out for Mystic breed updates in the demo, and we are working on those. But game playability is taking the highest place for us, as we want to get testing ASAP! So, we appreciate this patience. Moontails, and likely Thumpers, will be here for Beta, but our #1 focus this last month has been the sprint to the finish line for playability in both development and assets. The semi-quiet activity is because we're putting all our energy into this huge milestone.

We asked those who receive it to reply that they have. There is not a strict deadline on this reply, we simply want to ensure that those who received the email have seen it and are ready to volunteer. We will still be sending keys to everyone who received an email, minus those who are dropping out. If someone is MIA by the time people are registering accounts, we will consider reaching out to other potential testers.

Home stretch, everyone! It’s starting to come together just how much we’ve completed, and the application is beginning to feel real in a way it hasn’t previously. We’re all super antsy to buff it out and get people playing!

Whispers of the night-Lloyd Garmadon x F!reader

Hi, this will become a new series, I’ve never done a series on Tumbler, only Wattpad and AO3, but I’ll probably add some of those series on her aswell, not the long ones, though.

I’ll add this series to both those platforms somewhere this month, but I’ll probably change the name cuz I don’t like this one that much.

Summary: y/n is your typical rebelling teen, sneaking out, ignoring her parent requests, stealing snacks from shops, skipping school. People who are like her, people with powers, normally do good, like the ninja, she likes to live a quite, but not so quite life.

Like that, she ignores the power she holds, she holds the power of illusion, she does not keep it a secret form her friends, though doesn’t like to talk about it much with people outside her friend group.

Her power isn’t unknown, so, of course, she did get an invitation to the tournament of elements, but she never attended, having promised herself she would live a quite, normal, teenager life.

That changes when a certain green ninja enters her life.

“Yes! Perfect, Millie!” Y/n clapped as the friend group cheered. The eight of them spent most of their free time in the skate park in Ninjago city.

It only had a pole, bank, pit and a halfpipe (which they where currently sitting on) but it would do, if they needed more like a stair railing, they’d go to other parts of the city.

Amelia landed on Y/n’s right side with a cocky smirk. Next to her sat Anthony while Luna stood behind them.

It was a sunny Wednesday, one of the last sunny days they where expecting, as it was late September.

“Alright, now copy that.” Amelia patted Y/n on the back and the girl got up, “I’ll destroy you, Cooper.” She said with slightly narrowed eyes and a smirk.

She picked up her skateboard, the bottom decorated with small doodles she made herself, but also some made by her friends, names included.

“Want me to film you?” Flora called from the other side of the halfpipe. “Sure!” Y/n called back, getting into position.

When she got the thumbs up from Flora, she shifted her weight and took off, getting cheered on by the others while Amelia jokingly yelled “boo!”

The six Ninja had the afternoon for themselves, having trained in the morning and decided on spending some time in the local park.

They walked past the skatepark and Lloyd looked over to see what the people there where up to. There was a girl with h/c hair soaring on her skateboard while being cheered on.

She was really beautiful.

“What ya looking at?” Kai looked at the direction Lloyd was looking at and smirked. “Watching the pretty skate girls?” He teased making Lloyds cheeks slightly heat up before protesting, making the others laugh.

“Good enough for you?” Y/n cocked a brow at Amelia who grinned. “More then enough.” She said. Flora, Arthur and Charlie, who had been on the other side, climbed onto their side.

“Who’s getting drinks?” Y/n heard Charlie ask, she had registered what he said to late, and when she looked up, everyone had a finger on their nose.

“Fine,” she grumbled, making the others chuckle. She wrote down what everyone wanted and waved before heading to the food and drink stall not far away.

When she arrived there she smiled at the boy with blonde hair that stood there, seeming to wait for his order.

He smiled back and she heard chuckling behind them. He turned around and shot his friends who stood not far away a glare.

“Good afternoon, how may I help you?” The teenager behind the register asked and Y/n smiled kindly.

“Hello,” she greeted. “Could I please have two cokes, a strawberry shake, one lemonade, one ice-tea, two passion fruit shakes and a ginger beer?” She asked and the girl nodded with a polite smile.

“Was that all?” She questioned. “Yes, that was it.” She answered and pulled out her card. “That would be eighteen fourth five,”

Y/n payed for the drinks and waited next to the boy who was tapping his foot on the ground a bit impatiently.

She couldn’t help but notice how cute he was. Blonde hair that was shining in the sun, light freckles on his face, bright green eyes and she couldn’t help but see he worked out daily.

Feeling he stare, he looked at her and smiled kindly, making her quickly look the other way.

He was then handed his drinks, and walked of after giving her a polite nod.

When she received her drinks aswel, she walked back to her friends who excitedly ran over and all took their own drinks.

Lloyd handed everyone their drinks and they smirked at him. “What?” He asked, taking his own drink in his hands.

“She was totally checking you out man!” Cole said, pushing Lloyds shoulder slightly, and if it wouldn’t have been for his own super strength, he would’ve fallen over.

“Who was?” He asked confused, making the others exchange baffled glances. “That pretty skater girl, obviously.” Kai rolled his eyes.

“No she was not!” Lloyd pointed out and Nya sighed. “Lloyd, I think it’s time we get your eyes checked.” She said disappointedly, making the others laugh.

“But come on dude, you can’t tell me she isn’t pretty, right?” Kai poked Lloyds arm making the green ninja chuckle. “She is, really pretty indeed.” He admitted.

The group had decided to make their way to James’ house as he had a huge backyard. Still sipping on their drinks, they walked to the entrance to the park.

Well, except for Luna, who was standing on her skateboard while holding onto Arthur, casually looking at her phone while being pulled forwards.

“Hey, is that the guy from the stand?” Amelia suddenly pointed to a group of friends who where standing in the shadow of a tree.

Amongst them indeed the boy Y/n had stood next to and mentioned to her friends.

Embarrassed, she quickly pulled her friends arm down as three of the boys looked their way, Amelia being rather loud.

“Millie!” Y/n hissed making her friends laugh.

“Hey, wait!” They turned to someone approaching them. “Hello?” Anthony raised an eyebrow at the guy standing in front of them.

“Hi,” he pointed his attention to Y/n, “I’m Kai and my friend over there,” he pointed at the blonde boy from earlier who looked mortified. “He thinks you’re really pretty and wants your number.” He said and Y/n gave an amused smirk while Flora and Amelia giggled.

Y/n tilted her head to the side to look at the blond boy who seemed to be scolding one of his friends with black hair.

“Sure, why not?” She smiled and looked over at Charles.

“Charlie, can I have the sticky notes and a pen?” She asked and he smirked and handed them over.

She wrote her number down and her name right under it. “Here, give that to your handsome friend.” She winked as she gave it before Kai thanked her and took off again.

“Damn N/n, you just got yourself boyfriend.” Luna teased with a smirk making Y/n give her a look. “It’s just a number, Lu.” She said, making her friends protest.

“Why did you have to dare him to do that?” Lloyd pointed an accusing finger at Cole who could only laugh.

Kai had jogged back over and everyone looked at him expecting and he gave Lloyd the sticky note with her name and number.

“Y/n, huh?” He read with a small smirk, having not expected to actually get her number.

“Mhm, and, her words where ‘give that to your handsome friend’ so I think you just got yourself a maybe girlfriend.” Kai said and Lloyd knew at that moment he was in for a lot of teasing for the rest of the day.

“I’m home!” Y/n closed the door behind her and walked into her house. It was almost 10 so she was surprised to see her little brother still on the couch.

She walked past and pushed the hood of his hoody over his head and he let out an angry yelp.

“Mooomm, Y/n’s bullying me!” He called out and their mother poked her head out of the kitchen. “Y/n?” She gave her eldest daughter a look making her smirk.

“Why’s he still up?” She entered the kitchen, taking an apple out of the fruit basket. “He’s free from school tomorrow so I allowed him to stay up late tonight.” Her mother said, rolling out dough to make cookies while Y/n took a bite of her apple.

“He’s literally six,” she swallowed her apple. “You didn’t allow me to stay up this late when I was that age.” She said

“Well this is different… kind of, but it’s just one time, I hope it won’t get to his head.” Her mother shook her head making Y/n chuckle.

“If it does it’s a you problem,” she threw the remains of her apple away and snatched her phone form the table.

“I’m heading out around 12, Charlie, Luna, Millie and I are going for a movie and then we’ll see what we’re going to do,” she looked at her phone.

“Hold up young lady, while that sounds fun, there has been a lot going on around the city again, I don’t want you going out at night.” He mother said making her groan.

“Come on mom, nothings going to happen, the ninja and police can handle it, it’s not that big of a threat anyway.” She waved it off. “Y/n!” Her mother said sternly and she groaned.

“Fine.” She left the kitchen and headed up the stairs with a scowl.

The ding of her phone made her look back at her screen.

After ten minutes, Y/n could hear her mother softly snoring in her room and she could still hear the tv downstairs, hoping that was enough distraction for her snitching little brother.

She opened her window softly and sat on the window sill. She took en deep breath and jumped down, landing on the grass in their front yard.

She grabbed the broom that stood agains the wall of the house and used it to push her window closed.

Y/n chuckled and grabbed her skateboard before making her way to the city centrum.

She put in her headphones and blasted music, making the noice of her surroundings disappear into the background.

At arrival, she smirks at her friends who get up at the sight of her.

“N/n!” Amelia cheers as she pulls her into an excited hug. “So Lu just checked on her phone, and there are four seats free in some sort of horror movie, so if we sneak in, we can watch it no problem.” She explains.

“Sure yeah, I can fix that.” Y/n grins, and with a snap of her fingers, they disappeared to the crowds eye.

“Holy shit what happened?” Charlie says panicked. “Illusions Charlie!” Luna hit his shoulder. “Oh, right.”

After four years, Charlie still can’t get used to Y/n having these powers, so whenever she uses them, he believes in the illusion making him see them.

If one does belief the illusion is really there and not an illusion, they just see what Y/n wants them to see, but if they realise what she’s doing, the illusion disappears for their eyes.

“Let’s go then, and uh, stay silent.” She says and her friends follow her, making sure to not walk into someone.

They got into the theater easily, it was still quite empty so when they sat, y/n could change them back and they snickered.

When the movie ended, they snuck out again.

“I can’t believe you actually got scared!” Y/n and Luna where laughing while Amelia cursed at them. She had screamed multiple times. Charlie just followed them with an amused grin.

New (not really) Murder Drones Au!

This AU is called the Mercy Drones AU, created by my lovely boyfriend who gave me permission to share this to Tumblr! I helped with some of the concepts and the name!

Basically, while the humans were testing stuff out with Solver, they also made the "Mercy" program, an anti-virus for Solver. With episode 7 and the introduction of the patch, we kind of made it one in the same. anyway

The Mercy program is the result of the patch warping the solver mutation's genes/coding and essentially "purifying" it. Instead of bat wings, Mercy Drones have moth-like wings made of solar panels that sprout from their backs. Instead of mouths at the end of their tails, they have a strange, claw-like hand at the end of their tail. Nothing they "gain" from this mutation is organic. When they go full-Mercy mode, their 'screens' turn purely the color of their LEDs. These drones thrive in the sunlight

Wing shapes aren't always the same and can be based off of any moth species.

Within this AU, Thad has the Mercy Mutation, along with Alice and Lizzy (though hers is Dormant and has remained dormant thus far.) Lizzy and Thad got it from their late mom Izzy, who was once a zombie drone alongside Nori, Yeva, and Alice. (Thad's wings are based off of Luna moth wings, Lizzy's would be based off of Maple (or pink lemonade) moth wings)

The thought of this AU came up because I was losing my fucking mind over how much wasted potential Thad had, mostly focusing on episode 2. He got grabbed by Solver, and while All of the other worker drones it grabbed died immediately, he didn't, and it even acted scared when he threatened it and I was screaming about how it made no sense and there had to be more to Thad because of this.

In the au, this interaction with Solver activated his Mercy programming, fighting off Solver's influence. Soon after this, he did the ol "transformation" thing (see image), and it was during Episode 4 that he finally learned how to use the abilities the Mercy programming used. He wasn't in the bus, bro had to cling to the top of it as they went home.

In this au, Solver not only sent the DD's to Copper-9 to kill the drones but also to hunt down any Mercy Drones who were left there to neutralize the only threat to it's ultimate goal

I never got around to fully coloring this, but the outer "rim" of the wings are silver, and the inside of the wings are dark green, which looks more like a bright mint green in the sun. The inside wing colors change depending on the drone (For example, it would be dark brown in the dark and orange in the light for Alice)

When Mercy Drones are depraved of exposure to sunlight for long (and I mean long) periods of time, they grow sluggish, tired, and weak. For this reason, when Alice realized she would never see the sun again, she permanently removed her wings.

Some abilities include- - Drawing sun rays collected by their wings to create light daggers - Magnetizing their fingertips - Can create other things (from shields to drone repairs) out of their harvested energy

THE LEMONADE SAVE V3.5

Finally! Another update! I made it before the horses! And I finally made a new promo image!

Before I get into what’s changed, a quick primer on what this save is all about: I wanted a diverse save with all the drama we got back in the Sims 2 days. I call it the Lemonade Save because the Sims 4 is lacking in all that. When EA gives you lemons, you make lemonade.

Here’s what’s new/updated:

Updated ALL existing families with family dynamics.

Made over all San Sequoia sims and added new families. All new families have relationships (good and bad) with existing sims.

Tweaked existing sims using new in-game assets.

Added new townies.

As always, this save only includes new and updated sims. The builds are untouched. Due to how The Sims 4 culls relationships, some of the the relationships I created may go poof eventually unless you use a mod that corrects this.

This save requires no cc and uses the following DLC:

DOWNLOAD : SIMFILESHARE | MEDIAFIRE (NO ADS EVER!)

Back up your existing saves before installing. To install, just place the save file into your Sims 4 Saves folder. This save fills slot 9992f so hopefully it won’t overlap with any of your existing ones. If it does, just rename it.

Look for the save called LEMONADE SAVE V3.5 when you open the game to play.

☆ Artfight 2024 Works. ☆

While I definitely could have gotten more attacks out, I am content with the amount of art I did overall this year! 2 attacks and 4 revenges.

All of my Artfight pieces follow a general premise of Telfoso and various characters exploring a strange realm, where beings from other Hosts appear. The realm can shift into literally anything and everything, and it has its own laws and rules .... or lack thereof.

The characters and their Hosts are the following:

SUNSET SKYE (Lanceylance17) "Will I see you again?" Telfoso makes a new friend, and when they part, she is gifted a bow to hold on to for their next meeting.

LUNA (@meii-jasmine) "Lunar Ladies Night" Nana-Jan and Luna enjoy one another's company as Luna does the young Demi's hair.

WAVERLY (SilverTonguedDaemon) "How did I even get here?" As a hateful goddess boasts about her history of mass destruction, Waverly wonders how the hell she even ended up with her in a laundry mat of all places in the first place.

AMIZADE (Groovy_Apollo) "I saw a little scarlet sky angel." While exploring a staircase reaching the heavens, Telfoso appears before Amizade in a way that leaves her taken back at their encounter.

RHAORU (@monarch-moon) "Well then." Telfoso was just trying to enjoy a ferris wheel ride when she mutated out of nowhere into the form resembling her other Father. Rhaoru happened to be here to witness that ... lol.

LEMONADE (KillerDark) "Such curious notes." While taking shelter from the rain and napping, Lemonade appears and goes through Telfoso's sketchbook, full of interesting drawings and data that .... they can kind of understand a little.

Beater's bat Written for @hinnymicrofic, January prompt 15: Pick

“No!” Lily Luna let out. “I want to be a Beater this time!” She was on the edge of her fake crocodile tears to get her way. “You promised.”

Hugo’s eyes widened.

“Lily, you are the size of a bowtruckle!” James argued. “What makes you think you can be a good Beater?”

Half the adults groaned at the kids’ row. Ginny facepalmed herself.

Lily’s cute little face turned murderous as she bent down and picked up the Beater’s bat.

Immediately all the adults shot off their seats. “No!”

Lily swung back but then the bat soared up, levitated by Harry. He walked up to her and caught the bat.

“Lily, we do not ever swing the bat at brothers—or cousins. I know you want to play Quidditch, and you can, but that is not how we win an argument. We use our words.”

“They don’t listen to me!”

He could see the tears threatening to spill now were real, angry tears. He stood up. “I’ll pick the teams.”

James groaned.

“If you don’t agree, you don’t have to join,” Harry told him. James shut up.

Harry divided the teams and though they didn’t seem too happy, they agreed. He bent down to Lily’s eye level and gave her the bat back. “If I see you aiming that at anything but a bludger, you will not see a broom for a month.”

Lily innocently met his eyes. “Why? Is mum going to fly her game without one?”

Harry had to try hard to bite back his smile. He wasn’t sure who Lily had inherited her snark from, but it would be the death of him—and his parenting—one day. “Lily, don’t test me. You will not sit on a broom for a month.”

Lily nodded, pretending nothing had happened. “Okay.” She skipped to her broom, the bat swinging in her tiny hand.

He looked over at Ginny, who gave him a hidden thumbs up. He shook his head and walked back to his chair, eager to get started on his lemonade.

Happy New Year With You Dain Aetos X Riorson Reader

Synopsis: An evening out on new years eve. Riorson Reader X Dain Aetos.

How does one spend a New Years Eve party when they are a second-year rider in the quadrant? An evening in Chantra of course.

Y/N POV

“Oh my god Y/N!!” Imogen squealed as you stepped into her room so your best friend could help you finish your hand makeup for this evening. “What?” You asked as you didn’t think much of your dress and canvas flats. You were never one to get dressed up, well for anything. “What do you mean what!! You look amazing, that black dress hugs you in every right place. Maybe this will be the evening that you and Dain finally seal the deal she said, putting her hands on your shoulders and pushing you down in her desk chair.

“Imogen, I have no idea what on earth you're talking about. Plus, when does Dain ever go to Chantra?” “Oh, come on, you two have been sparring between feelings since we started last year. And its New Year's Eve, everyone goes into town.” You sighed as she started to French braid your hair. “Even so, Dain and I could never happen. I'm a Riorson and he's an Aetos.” “It’s clear you two have chemistry and plus everyone knows Luna and Cath are mates.” “Everyone? Imogen Cardullo, who on earth did you tell?” She did have to tell anyone. Cath and I have been mated for decades the whole empyrean knows. Luna said into your mind.

She’s right. You heard Dain say into your mind. Right about which part Aetos? I’ll see you at midnight Riorson and we can find out. You rolled your eyes and slammed your shields up not wanting to deal with the entourage of voices in your mind that came with bonded to a mated dragon. You elbowed Imogen as you heard her chuckle behind you. “That mind thing is so weird.” “You have no idea.” You said to her chuckling.

“There absolutely beautiful my best friend.” Imogen said as she finished the final touches of your makeup. “Thanks Immi. I guess it isn’t awful getting the whole nine yards done every now and again.” You smirked as she put the finishing touches of green hair dye on the tip of your braid. You always dyed your hair a little bit of green, but now it was perfect because Luna was also a green scorpion tail.

A few hours later you and Imogen meet up with your brother Xaden, Bodhi, Garrick, Liam and a few other first years as well as Heaton, Emery and Quinn to head into town. You heard a low whistle come from your brother; “Cardullo what the hell did you do to my sister and where the fuck did, she go?” Xaden said with a smirk on his face. “I can say I completely agree.” Heaton said, wrapping his arm around you. “Heaton back off. She has her mind on someone else.” Imogen said coming up on the same side and knocking his arm off of yours. “Ouch Cardullo!” He said in mock pain as you chuckled at your friends' antics.

“And who does my little sister have her eyes on?” Xaden asked, coming up to your other side. “Absolutely no one.” You said with a smirk. “No one? I thought it was me?!” You could hear Ridoc pipe up from behind you. “In your dreams Gamlyn!” Both you and Imogen said at the same time which ended up in a boisterous laughter among the group.

An hour later you had several alcoholic Lavender Lemonade drinks into your system. You currently had your arms flung around Garricks neck as you both were dancing to the medieval bar music that was pumping through the tavern. Garrick was never an option for you being Xaden’s best friend and always your brother’s second in command; but that never stopped you two from messing around occasionally. “You should go for it.” “Sorry?” Garrick mumbled. “I mean you and Imogen. It’s New Year's Eve, kiss her.” “What?” Garrick stuttered. “Oh come on Tavis it’s obvious there’s something between you two.”

Garrick was saved from an answer as you felt a tap on your shoulder from behind you. You turned around to face Dain Aetos. “Care to dance. Miss Riosron?” Dain asked, holding his hand out. You glanced back at Garrick who gave you a court nod and made his way to the bar. “Thought you’d never ask Aetos?” You smirked as you wrapped your arms around Dain’s waist as the music changed to a slower song.

“I was just waiting for the right moment.” He said tucking your braid behind your ear. “And that would be?” You asked, staring up into his brown eyes. “A slow song close too when the clock is going to strike midnight.” “And why would that be ideal Aetos?” He chuckled softly and gods that was a sound you grew two love over the past almost two years. He smirked before saying “So perhaps that I get to kiss the prettiest girl in the quadrant.” You blushed.

You were about to protest and say how you and Dain could never work as you were a Riorson and he was an Aetos; a marked one and a none marked one. However, you were interrupted by the countdown that was filling the bar; you let Dain pull you into his side as you joined into the countdown to the new year; “5, 4, 3, 2, 1!” You felt Dain wrap his strong arms around your waist as he turned you too face him. “Dain.” You breathed looking up into his brown eyes once more as you reached up to run your fingers through his brown hair. Kiss him. You heard Luna playfully chime into your head. You felt dain cup your cheek and let him close the distance that was between the two of you.

You ignored the whistles from your brother and group of friends as you melted into Dain’s touch. Dain’s touch which was the best feeling you had felt in the entire world. You could feel his turn seek for entrance into your mouth which you opened up and let him continue to melt into his touch. Truly taking in his scent for the first time which was something that you could find yourself getting lost into forever. He smelled like home, like vanilla and a hint of musk with just a subtle hint of bourbon. “Dain.” You breathed after you both broke through for air. “Y/N” He breathed. “Would you care to start the new year off as officially being my girlfriend?”

You couldn’t help but blush as you wrapped your arms tighter around Dain and you couldn’t help but glance down at your rebellion mark on your arm. “I know.” He whispered softly to you. “People are going to talk.” You started to protest. “I know.” He said again. “Ask me if I care Y/N.” “Do you care?” “No.” “You should, what about your father?” “I don’t care, and he can think whatever he wants. Sure, he probably isn’t going to approve of us-” This time you cut him off by reaching up and placing your lips on yours as you both melted into each other's lips again. “Yes.” You breathed softly. “Yes?” He repeated again. “Yes, I’ll be yours.” You said again this time more confidently as you knew for fact you wanted Dain more than you wanted everything in your entire life. You and your brother were rarely ones that got what you wanted, and you weren’t going to let this slip away from you. “Happy new year babe.” Dain said to you softly. “Happy new year baby.” You whispered back, carding your fingers through his brown hair again, completely forgetting that both of you were in the middle of a packed tavern, not wanting this moment to end.
