I mean the list feels endless. Lunar eclipse is a fated time for things, and for you I feel like whatever you want this time, you’ll get it. Like it is up to you to focus on whatever and receive what you are focusing on. I have also heard that you shouldn’t manifest during lunar eclipse, or eclipses in general, but honestly, if you are feeling called to do so, you should listen to that calling.

The oracle cards are also saying that it you who is going to decide, nothing will happen if you don’t want that to happen. Everything is your will. And when you want something, be really really intentional and determined about it. Affirm about the things, sit and visualize those things, journal about them. Like keep that thing in your prayers and your thoughts sort of a thing.

Its such a fun energy to be in, because I am honestly extremely scared of eclipses, and I just spend the whole season crying my eyes out. I hope y’all are feeling well, because it seems to me that lunar eclipse isn’t forcing you to focus on one thing and deal with it. It letting you take the wheel and nudging you to take the steps this time, and the eclipse will help you achieve that thing and get that thing.

Hey there loves! I hope lunar eclipse has treated you well!

I saw you making snow angels!! Very happy, healing your inner child sort of a thing (I’ve never made a snow angel and I really really wanna). It also makes me think of leaving an impression, or a lasting imprint. Like you say something to someone and it really sticks with them, or you’ve done something that people always remember, even years down the line, they are like “Oh you remember [Name] did this amazing thing that time?” and you are fondly remembered.

It can be a really small act of kindness also that people remember, or you’ve helped someone and that memory is you know forever in their hearts kind of a thing.

Okay, so for your oracle cards we have,

Falling Leaves: Let go of the things that weigh heavily on you; you deserve to take up space.

Crow: Pay close attention to the winds; there’s a message making its way.

The first card again tells you to take up space, which is what you do essentially when you are making snow angels! (11:11 pm make a wish~) You take up space, you do your thing, and that is where you create your mark, your identity. It shows that you were there, you existed, you took up your space, you’ve marked it as your own.

I also think, because of the snow, that the winter season might be important for you.

Also, with the crow card, you might get an idea, an epiphany sort of a thing from someone else. You know when you are walking and you hear someone else say something and it just clicks for you, that yes! That message was definitely for me. We shared the goal of Ketu (the South Node) in Part I of this series.  You can read more about that here.  Now here are some examples of how to learn from the South Node through the house where Ketu transits below.  We will start based on where Ketu has been since 2023 (Sidereal Virgo) and speak on where it is going in 2025 (Sidereal Leo).

Let’s look at how Ketu affects each of the (Sidereal) Rising or Moon Signs:

Virgo Rising- Ketu in the 1st- This transit with Ketu in the 1st has been about you learning to let go of your identities and perceptions of yourself, as well as worrying about what other people think about you, your appearance and how you come across.  This placement of Ketu can make someone become selfless, giving without expectation of anything in return.  Virgo Rising comes across as analytical or being attentive to details, compassionate and of service to others, but this transit must have allowed more awareness of the judgmental side and the ego.  Obsessively trying to fix people or change them would have likely created problems with how others perceived you during this time.    How to harness Ketu here? Let go of your identities and obsession with your appearance, study yourself by observing with non-judgment in meditation. In May 2025, Ketu is moving to the 1st - By having taken the steps to release what we hold dear in the 2nd house like our family, possessions and what we value, and also being more cognizant of how speech can be a weapon or a healing balm for others, you will be ready to transform completely to a new stage of being willing to be even more selfless when Ketu moves here.

Cancer Rising- Ketu in the 3rd – The South Node here likely created some issues with siblings, neighbors or cousins. Your self-expression could present as overexerted or a struggle through writing, acting, marketing, media or even how you express yourself to others in general.  How to harness Ketu here? You may need to learn other ways of seeing how you express yourself and come across to others in general.  This could be learned by what events transpire at work, through creative pursuits or with siblings, neighbors and cousins (close family).  The South Node will help you re-evaluate your communication skills through writing, media, networking, marketing, acting, performing and business.  Ketu can give great insight by seeing both sides of things to help you harness a new way of communicating and expressing yourself. Gemini Rising- Ketu in the 4th – Ketu here has likely challenged your relationships with the mother, on the mother’s side and in your home, and you’ve likely been working on some heart and emotional issues.  This has also likely put a focus on anyone in your immediate home or has made you change or re-evaluate your living situation and space. How to harness Ketu here? Forgiveness by letting go of the mother and mother’s family.  It is likely that some traumas were revealed by Ketu.  The idea is to see them and to emotionally and psychologically rehash them if we must, but then recognize that we all play a part in causing pain to others. This inner peace will help you in your career (where Rahu the North Node is transiting).

In May 2025, Ketu is moving to the 3rd – This healing you have done within your home and on yourself will help you to navigate a new way of expressing yourself and communicating with others when Ketu gets to the house of self-expression and communication.

Taurus Rising- Ketu in the 5th – This placement for transiting Ketu has likely been about needing to face some fears in relation to taking action on creative areas, learning and studying.  If you have children or romantic partners, this could have manifested as some struggle or misunderstandings with them as well.  The 5th house being the original house of Leo, it is likely that the overindulgence in ego or romance or pleasure may have created some issues, too.  How to harness Ketu here? Letting go of children, allowing them to make their own mistakes sometimes and letting go of lovers in the sense that you realize where your ego or desires might be taking over the relationships. Sagittarius Rising- Ketu in the 10th – Ketu here has likely created some detachment or lack of interest in your career and public image.  This transit can make someone feel unappreciated at work or like they are misunderstood by co-workers, their boss and the public.  The seeking attention, appreciation and desires for fulfillment in career is likely going to create more problems for the native. Book recs: post- and transhumanism

AKA: cyborgs, uploaded minds, and humans otherwise altered by technology.

I have previously written a rec list for books featuring robots and artificial intelligences, but ended up excluding various titles for not quite fitting the theme. Hence, this list, which focuses more on the step from human into something else, commonly with themes of what it means to be human.

The Quantum Thief by Hannu Rajaniemi*

Place this one in the category of ‘accept that you’re gonna be confused as hell and just let the world wash over you’. The singularity has come and gone and humans can now easily upload, download and copy themselves into new bodies, not all of them human and not always willingly. Consciousnesses and time has become something close to currency. Follows a murder mystery on Mars.

The Scorpion Rules (Prisoners of Peace duology) by Erin Bow*

Young Adult. Featuring a dystopian future in which an AI forcibly keeps world peace by holding the children of world leaders hostage. If anyone attempts to start a war, their child will be executed. Greta is one of these children, kept in a school with others like her. But things start to change one day when a new, less obedient hostage arrives. A unique, slowburn take on the YA dystopian craze, also featuring a bisexual love triangle.

The Adoration of Jenna Fox (Jenna Fox Chronicles) by Mary E. Pearson

Young Adult set in a near future. Jenna wakes from a year long coma after an accident, and something is wrong. Is this really her life? Are her memories her own? Exactly what happened a year ago, and what did her parents do to get her back?

Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky*

Millenia and generation spanning scifi. After the collapse of an empire, a planet once part of a project to uplift other species to sentience is left to develop on its own, resulting not in the intelligent monkeys once intended but in sentient giant spiders. Millenia later, what remains of humanity arrives looking for a new home, only to be met by the artificial remains of the ancient woman who once led the uplift project - and she is not willing to let them on her planet.

War Girls by Tochi Onyebuchi*

In an enviromentally fraught future, the Nigerian civil war has flared back up, utilizing cybernetics and mechs to enhance its soldiers. Two sisters, by bond if not by blood, are separated and end up on differing sides of the struggle. Brutal and dark, with themes of dehumanization of soldiers through cybernetics that turn them into weapons, and the effect and trauma this has on them.

The Ship Who Sang by Anne McCaffrey

1969 classic. Features a future in which children born too weak to survive are put into and raised in mechanical bodies. Helva, one of these children, grows up to be put in charge of her own space ship, from which she works to fulfill various missions out in space, missions which she quickly comes to learn are much more dangerous than she could've imagined.

Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) Marissa Meyer*

Young Adult fairy tale retelling. Cinder, a cyborg with a mysterious past she can't remember, lives with her stepmother and two stepsisters in New Beijing as a deadly plague ravages the world and a race of Lunar people threaten war against the entire planet. As Cinder becomes entwined with the young prince Kai, she is pulled more and more into dangerous politics that see her as less than human due to her cybernetics, yet need her to save them.

House of Suns by Alastair Reynolds

Six million years in the future, humanity has spread across the entire Milky Way galaxy. Purslane and Campion are both clones of the same woman, sent into the galaxy millions of years ago to explore along with almost a thousand clones like them. Every 200 000 years they all meet to compare memories and experiences. But this time Purslane and Campion arrive late - and discover that a secret millions of years in the making has lead to an extinction level attack against their kind. Now they must find out the truth before their line is completely wiped out. Absolutely wild world-building, featuring various kinds of posthumans (among which the clones are, shockingly, the most similar to people of our time).

Nexus (Nexus trilogy) by Ramez Naam

In a near future, a nano-drug is developed that can link human minds together, having the potential to change humanity forever. As different factions fight over it - some wanting to control it, other to eradicate it, and many to exploit it - a scientist who's caught improving the drug is thrust into a world of danger and international espionage.

Skinned (Cold Awakening trilogy) by Robin Wasserman

Young Adult. Rich girl Lia Kahn had the perfect life - until she died and was brought back by having her memories downloaded into a mechanical body. Despite having her life back, Lia also finds her life changed, as people fear her and treat her differently. Worse; she herself isn't sure if she's still really Lia, or whether she's even a person at all anymore.

Blindsight (Firefall duology)by Peter Watts*

Vampires and aliens and questions of the nature of consciousnesses, oh my. A ship is sent to investigate the sudden appearance of an alien vessel at the edge of the solar system, but the crew, a group of various level of transhumanism, isn't prepared for the horrors awaiting them. No, seriously, this book will fuck you up, highly recommend if you’re okay with a lot of techno babble and existential horror.

Mortal Enginges (Mortal Engines quartet) by Philip Reeve*

Young Adult. On a barely survivable Earth humanity has taken to living on great wandering cities, hunting each other across the plains for resources. Tom lives in London, but when he intervenes to stop a murder, he falls off the city alongside a strange and hostile girl on the hunt for revenge. Together they set out to catch up to the city, but are chased by a murderous machine like being set on stopping them. Trans/posthumanism isn't the main theme of the book, but it continues to grow in importance throughout the series.

Meru by S.B. Divya

A human and a posthuman, called an alloy, venture together into space to explore a newly discovered, earth-like planet, testing the future of the relationship between their peoples on the way.

WE by John Dickinson

Humanity has become a hive mind, constantly connected. When Paul is sent on a one-way mission to a frozen moon, he must disconnect from the rest of humanity, for the first time seeing what it has truly become.

Accelerando by Charles Stross

In a time in which the artificial and the posthuman is more and more outpacing the human, something strange enters the solar system and starts dismantling its planets.

Happy Lunar New Year! If your 2024 hasn’t gone as well as you’d hope, here’s another chance to reset, to realign goals, and to recalibrate direction.

The Lunar New Year runs on 60 year cycles, and this year is the year of the Wood Dragon, also known as the Blue Dragon, who is deeply associated with growth and dynamism.

One of my late spiritual mentors used to insist that the Blue Dragon is the most powerful creature in all of existence, precisely because it does not exist, for conventional existence as such would limit it to the realm of finitude.

The realm of the imaginal (as opposed to that of finitude) is certainly a powerful one, and the dragon is the only creature (of the twelve that flesh out the East Asian zodiac) that fully occupies that realm. Therefore we might think of this lunar new year as one particularly suited for exploring the depths of the imaginal, which is to say, our dreams and aspirations that might otherwise feel stifled by ordinary spatiotemporal concerns.
