ya i think you’re right about lacking a bit of game lol, he definitely just exudes natural charm of course but his talking game prob needed some work haha. but also guys we need to remember he went to an all-boys private school for years so he probably didn’t get much practice during that time lol which speaks a bit to those awkward convos with girls. buttt! he seemed to be a really sweet friend! also, side-tangent, but i can imagine him saying some like obscure fact to a girl, trying to hit up a conversation and maybe it doesn’t have the desired effect and he ends up like overthinking the conversation like 5 hours after it’s over and going through the permutations of what probably would have been better to say haha like a true cs major with anxiety
i don’t think he realizes what he’s saying sometimes. definitely a bit hard-headed in his beliefs, doesn’t realize when he’s wrong until you point it out, very willing to argue.
example: in japan, he was walked into a restaurant alone and a group of men invited him to dinner, they got to know each other and followed each other on twitter.
a month later, mangione was characterizing japan as devoid of free will and suggesting solutions to address its birth rate crisis. like woah? so unhinged. and just kinda mean. imagine being one of those guys he befriended at the dinner, finding out he thinks you’re a freak who doesn’t know how to talk to girls ???

A BREAKDOWN OF THE BRELOOM 286 THEORY
breloom holds the pokédex number 286
proverbs 28:6 is “better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.”
in healthcare billing, denial code 286 refers to claims denied due to failure to meet appeal deadlines
do i believe this is true? not necessarily
but if it’s real he is SUCHHHH a little drama queen and i love that for him
source detailing the theory :

The amount of people immediately calling the arrest of Luigi Mangione a frame job is worrying, because it shows how easy Qanon level conspiratorial bullshit is to fall into, even on the left. It stems solely from people’s want for the shooter to still be free, thus, they have concluded in spite of overwhelming evidence that he is still free, because the world would be a better place if he was. Except, that isn’t how reality works. Wanting something doesn’t make it true.
“But he was too smart to be caught!”
No, the cops are just dumb and took a while to find him. Don’t forget, he took his mask off on camera while hitting on a hostel worker. There is no evidence that the shooter was a hyper intelligent super criminal. Killing people is easy
“But the gun and manifesto could have been planted!”
I agree, police do frame people, but that does not mean that every single case is a frame job, regardless of evidence. Do you know why I find the idea of the manifesto being planted to be unlikely? Because he’s currently negotiating bail in court and hasn’t mentioned the gun of manifesto being planted. If the police planted a confession on me, do you know what I would do? Say they planted it! If Mangione isn’t saying that it was planted, why are you assuming it was? Now, it is possible that he is just a guy who looks like the shooter and happened to be carrying a gun and a manifesto. That’s possible, if unlikely. That’s why he deserves a fair trial. That doesn’t mean there’s a vast hidden conspiracy to frame him
“But he doesn’t match the profile!”
Actually I think a guy who broke his back, was left in excruciating pain and forced to deal with health insurance fuckery, then dropped off the grid for six months is exactly the type of person who would should a health insurance ceo
Luigi Mangione, assuming he is the shooter, is a hero who should be venerated. It is a shame he was caught. That does not mean that the truth has become meaningless and that he hasn’t been caught because you don’t want him to have been
Conspiratorial thinking is a poison that destroys your brain and turns you into a fascist. You must resist it, even when it would benefit you for a conspiracy to be true. The truth matters, even in the face of horror

Well they caught him. If he wasn't the exact kind of person tumblr loves, the conspiracy theories about this being a random person being framed would have continued to spread. But he's an attractive 26 year old white man who was caught carrying a manifesto about corporate America and has an internet history that matches up with tumblr's general politics. So everyone is going to get excited about how he's a martyr and go back to acknowledging reality in that there isn't a conspiracy to frame the wrong guy.
The discussions over whether or not this man should be lionized as a hero are honestly not as relevant as the comfort with which people are going to drop the conspiracy theory they would have been fully committed to if this man's politics turned out to be nuts. The ease with which the userbase of this website switches between realities based on whether or not they confirm their biases is really alarming. I just hope people understand how weird it is to claim a random person is 100% going to be framed by the FBI on one day, and then drop that by the next day when it becomes clear that the person being "framed" is the exact kind of communist you had hoped.
#gingerswagfreckles#i feel like this comes off as waaah the ceo got shot and i really dont feel that way#i dont care he had it coming#and also. i cannot say yet bc not much info has come out but so far the shooter doesnt seem like someone i dont generally agree with#(preliminarily. maybe the manifesfo is super nuts idk)#but i really think that everyone's excitement to celebrate this guy as a hero is going to#distract from the fact that leftists have like decided conspiracies theories are completely acceptable#and not only that they're fun and true based on nothing but also that they stop being true#when theyre no longer politically beneficial#which just like. do you guys even understand how bad that is. not just that ppl are all gung ho about conspiracies now#but that theyre not dropping them in response to new information that disproves them#but in response to new information that makes them politically inconvenienient to continue to believe#it implies that a huge chunk of leftists are not basing their opinions on reality and facts but whatever makes them feel good and confirms#their identity within their social group. which has been true to some extent for a while#but we are getting to the point where people arent uncomfortable with the cognitive dissonance#that comes with believing in different versions of reality from one moment to the next based on what feels like it would be cool#in that moment#idk we are all doomed i think#i saw this coming back in 2017 and no one listened to me :/ people dont believe in objective truth anymore#they believe truth is something malleable that can be changed to confirm their beliefs#rather than something objective that they should change their beliefs in response to#like why are you all dropping the whole this is a random person being framed thing if you believed that yesterday#like oh ok NOW the police are a reliable source for identifying who the perpetrator is?? bc the perpetrator turned out to be someone you#think is cool?? i do not believe you guys would be believing these same souces arent in on a conspiracy against leftists if this guy#had turned out to be someone you dont like and agree with#luigi mangione#united healthcare#united healthcare ceo#united healthcare ceo assassination

Genuine question, why would a man with a plan and a suppressed pistol not dispose of his fake ID and the murder weapon while also keeping a planned note on his person? Smells like BS to me, stinky!!!

Genuinely cannot believe that murder=bad has become a controversial opinion in leftist spaces.

What are the reasons behind the skepticism of Mangione being the primary suspect in the UHC murder? I'm just not following the conspiracy tweets ... ty.

My very normal conspiracy theory is that Luigi Mangione did not actually kill the evil CEO. It's someone else and this guy is just filling in so that the actual star can escape the scene. They planned it out this way before hand too.

Ok, so people have probably heard the news, the McDonald's employee won't be getting 60k off some technicality. Which, funny if true, bc fuck that guy. However, maybe they aren't paying out bc there was no rat. This could mean one of two things:
1. Luigi was a plant of some sort so the cops could save face after losing a high profile murderer
2. The feds used some illegal means to track him down and won't admit it (more likely imo)
Obviously this is just speculation, people have already been speculating it might be some copycat claiming the glory etc.
He could also just be the guy and was ready to get caught. Hard to say.

hey! i hope you don’t mind me asking, but what’s your most controversial luigi take?
i have a lot of complicated opinions on luigi mangione’s case
i do think he could be capable of carrying this out. from the bits and pieces:
luigi’s tweet about japan, while clumsy, reflects an underlying interest in societal improvement, even if his execution often misses the mark. engaging with societal dynamics. only a month after traveling to japan and befriending locals, he put out a lengthy tweet calling for a cultural change: this pattern reveals a tendency to act impulsively but with good intentions, reflecting someone who wants to contribute to meaningful conversations but hasn’t quite mastered the delivery.
286 theory his twitter profile now sits at exactly 286 tweets, coincidentally aligning with breloom’s pokédex number (#286). google trends data for “breloom.” whether intentional or not, it adds an intriguing layer to his online presence.
fun note: rise in “breloom” google trends + word associations
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the recurring number 286 ties to proverbs 28:6: “better is the poor who walks in his integrity than he who is crooked though he be rich.” he did confirm he’s an atheist but i think an argument could be made that he’s presenting this in a deliberately sadistic way, mocking religious people who would point to moral absolutes like “murder is wrong.”
last on 286 - it can be linked to a healthcare code used when appeals are denied for exceeding the time limit. the bullet casings meticulously carved out supports the idea this was an attack on the healthcare industry. could also be a signal that he’s reached his breaking point. could reflect frustration, or could even serve as a declaration that he’s done waiting for change or resolution. (as if he’s saying he’s had enough of delays, whether external or self-imposed, and is ready to act or confront whatever has been holding him back.)
everyone who met mangione spoke highly of him as a friend. he was cared for them very openly, and was deeply interested in conversations about mental health and even worked as a head counselor at stanford.
to say the least: cutting everyone on his life off before the murder seems a bit suspicious
and most of all, his sudden outburst outside the courtroom just doesn’t make sense if he is innocent.
my less supported opinion is that this is all a bit too meticulously planned out. idk. i just don’t think he worked alone.
…. i do think someone this smart and pretentious would come up with an insane plan to take down the “root of the problem” — realistically, i don’t think it would be as straightforward as described in his alleged manifesto. his reddit history suggests he has been struggling with brain fog since college, which would make carrying out this mission alone even more challenging.
last and least important, i don’t think the monopoly money was planted by him at the park, either. seems like a waste of time. Definitely feels like funny thing a New Yorker would do to piss off the NYPD

Funniest possible outcome is that it really wasn’t him and the real shooter strikes again but that’s incredibly unlikely imo. He does look different from the initial vid and photos, but like, people just tend to look different from different angles, different lighting, in masks, in blurry security cam footage, in that same footage but AI-upscaled and photographed from a computer screen, etc
