Love this peanuts comic strip

I was reading through the complete peanuts 1971-72 and found this wonderful strip.

I like how it shows we have always poked our dogs on the nose, we’ve just called it slightly different stuff. Beep has turned to Boop and i kinda like them both. I think beep is a little bit more violent sounding but hey that’s just me.

I also really like the both how mundane the interaction between snoopy and Lucy is, usually their relationship is much more antagonistic but this is nice.

I was telling my sister how technically An Encounter with Mrs. Hooper is Richard's first episode.

My mom who has read the Blackgaard books is like "Yeah, wasn't he robbing old people."

And I'm like, "Yeah."

"He was a creep."

"He like cornered Lucy in a dark alley."

I relistened to The Homecoming today and noticed that Lucy says she called Richard's house phone to ask his parents where to find him to talk to him.

Did she already know this information? Did they often call two years ago before she learned he was manipulating her? Did she remember his phone number all that time? Did a part of her still feel fondly enough of him to hold onto that information even though she had been so hurt by him?

Since Christmas Time is upon us I thought to post a holiday special more appropriate for the coming season.

"It's the Great Paywall, Charlie Brown!"

Once again the greedy assholes have stuck "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" on Apple+.

This cartoon has been a Halloween tradition of mine since it first aired in 1966 on network TV.  For decades kids enjoyed this for free.

So it infuriates me that now the only people who can see it have to pay for streaming or the DVD.  I can't even afford streaming.

News I guess

the official AiO podcast just did a video podcast on the history of the visual depictions of characters. Being able to hear the different reasons behind the design choices and look at some scraped art was kinda inspiring.

A few notes I wrote while watching: They reused the writer room fist fight from the old tour for visuals. That made me laugh a lot. And we got confirmation that Connie was depicted with green jeans. Wait Gary Locke forgot for a good while he didn't draw Connie with a ponytail! That's so funny. Fair but funny. Oh it's because it wasn't his idea. Checks out. Phil's reaction to Bruce Day Eugene was delightful. I support Giga-wooton lol. Wooton had a mustache in some of the concept art and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Slimming him down was a mistake! Gary was right on this one guys come on! I've been saying this for a while but the social media guy sounds like he's having a blast and he's doing a great job. Empathizing with Gary's hat woes.

Gary: "Eh it's alright 🫤"

Lucy is our art rock lol. Yes yes! Do this again! This information would be way more useful with us than Gary's dog!

The light-leaks and scratches on the old film flicker over her face, masking her reflective white eyes. The video kicks back and loops. “My name is Nettie Schultz and I have died three times,” she repeats.

After separating from his wife of over twenty years, London-based private investigator Abe Tannen visits the exclusive medieval island of Tombedel during their Saint Martin’s Day celebrations, but his much-needed vacation takes an unexpected turn when a man is murdered in his hotel: the first person to actually die on the island in over 1,000 years.

With the local law enforcement unprepared to handle a real murder, the investigation falls to Abe, who enlists the help of an eclectic group of ghosts.
