been mulling over this a lot recently and i think many people need to get out of the mindset that we have to buy buy buy all the best players in the world constantly

the youth system is there for a reason, that’s talent that has been brought up playing the right systems for a fraction of the cost

sure we naturally attract the biggest names in football but i don’t want fans getting into the mindset that if we’re not signing every seemingly world class player under 25 each window then we’re in the mud (we’re not madrid after all)

youth development is so critical to long lasting success

exactly. that was the point i was trying to get across in this post.

we have a fantastic academy in la masia and we also scout amazing young players from around the world too. that's why my knee jerk reaction is not to look at other teams to sign talent, but to take a look at our own youth players and see how they are progressing.

and that's why it's so important to have good rotation and make sure we are not letting our cantera players be left to sit on the bench without significant minutes. it's also why loan deals are so crucial to players like bruna, dragoni, martina, and others.

we only have to look at the menení to see what faith xavi and now flick have put into the la masia boys and how it is paying off. we firmly believe we should put similar faith our youth too! 🙏
