yes, at this point, mapi is the only one from 'las 15' who is unavailable for the selection. now, i do think markel zubizarreta's short stint at rfef can come down to brokering the peace between montse and patri/pina and some others.

but honestly, i do not think mapi will return to the selection for as long as montse is manager. she disrespected mapi by calling her up back in september 2023 without speaking to her first, and then lied about it. (relevo did a good takedown of montse and her many lies in the linked article!) i don't think mapi will forgive that easy, and i just don't see her returning while montse is in charge. 🤷‍♀️

yeah, montse can't go back in time and erase video. we all saw her clapping for vilda and trying to save her job. and then we all saw the way she started off her tenure as manager for spain. a complete mess. 🙄

they have no shame. 😤 (they have since updated the story but still)

I've only been in the woso community for about a year, but Se acabó made my head and heart hurt. It's horrendous that it takes so much suffering for improvement to come, and it's still obviously not enough. I think it was very pointed how Irene called out Montse about clapping during Rubiales "I will no resign" speech.

What make me saddest about the players who haven't returned/been called up is for Paños. The fact that 2023 might have been her last opportunity at a World Cup, and I never want to say never, but the fact that they haven't called her up again since just stands to reason that they will continue to deny her a proper chance to represent her country again.

I would also like to join the line of punching Olga, I know they were showing different points of view, but I can't say she did herself any favors by being in the doc.

what's even sadder is that the documentary only skimmed the surface on the abuses faced by the players. there's so much more that happened that we didn't even cover in the doc. and there's so much that continues to happen under montse too...

the spanish federation since its inception has tried to keep players in line through abuse and intimidation, and when that doesn't work through threats and humiliation.

what happened to paños and really how rfef treats our gks is a study in humiliation, destruction of self-esteem, and the 'punishment' of players. 😤 and don't even get me started on how the federation completely humiliated irene and threatened to leak photos of her crying alone in 2022 after they scapegoated her for players 'revolting' against rfef, immediately post the euro. 🙄

paños and lola gallardo (and later misa) were gks #1 and 2 for the national team for a long time. the way the federation has treated them in the wake of 'las 15' has been despicable and unfair, with paños making herself available for the 2023 world cup and left off (the ultimate humiliation) and now the same is happening to lola, even though she's arguably the best in form gk in the liga f.

during the world cup, misa was not stripped of her #1 spot after the 4-0 loss to japan. rather, misa was stripped of it (in favour of cata) after she questioned vilda as to why he wasn't putting in other players with more experience as captain. montse wouldn't even play her during the olympics when cata broke her nose, which was another blow to her self-esteem. and now montse has dropped her from call-ups altogether.

and i fear we are seeing the same pattern emerge with cata. 🥺 anyway, honour to paños and lola for sticking up for what they believe!🙏
