and someone is inevitably going to try and say about them just asking the fan favourites and outgoing/extroverted players. firstly, how is a player meant to become a fan favourite without ever being shown? or only shown once in a while. if every video highlights millie bright, but not jess carter, how are fans going to pay attention to jess. secondly there are definitely ways for them to be featuring more players in their ig/twitter/behind the scenes at camp. how do you have two whole 10 min bts for the october camp without any black players talking on video?

Look at Sam Kerr as an example, both club and country, use her face on the fronts and she became who she is.

Salma Paralleulo, Barca and Spain.

Bunny Shaw, man city and Jamaica.

You cannot tell me the poc don’t bring an audience when some of the biggest stars in the game, are women of color…

Just pisses me off. Big time.

All I know is looking at the England team socials is that there are certain players who are faves and featured a lot and players who aren't. And I think there are choices they're making then.

Always with you on the Jess Defense Squad. Hope she's having a lovely time off, not having to defend for a whole team, and is looking forward to returning to her club team where she has other competent defenders to play with 😂

Also the idea that Chelsea's defense is better this year without her is laughable 😂that defense is about as tight as a sieve and they have been so lucky so far.

I actually don't think Chelsea fans underrate Jess (anymore), I just think they're trying to convince themselves that they're not missing her at all 😅 losing her to Gotham was a big loss, and one that seems to have been avoidable (for the moment) and they are trying desperately to pretend that the defence now doesn't need her 😂

I haven’t interacted with Chelsea fans much 🥴.

All I know is that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and Jess proved that.

I truly wish her all the best.

Just thinking about your post about the Lionesses lack of engagement with the actual issues their players face, particularly their Black players, and I'm just thinking - looking at the "fun" content they put out for fans, and what players are consistently featured, and what players very rarely get shown. I'm just noticing. It doesn't set up any of their Black players particularly to actually be building a fan base either.
