Happy 7th anniversary Breath of the Wild ♥︎♥︎♥︎ I've played each title of this beloved franchise since the NES area, and this particular chapter just blew me away. It somehow made me re-experience this overwhelming feeling of freedom, wonder and mystery I felt booting the original NES game a child, trying to find my way through Hyrule Kingdom and discovering it's secrets.

My goofy ass could talk my friends asses off about how much I love Mammon (Helluva boss), Adam (Hazbin Hotel), Miguel (Spiderverse), Ganondorf/Ganon (LOZ), Gortash (BG3)((AND KARLACH IS LITERALLY FUCKIN WIFEY-)), Slashers, and countless others that I can't even name off the top of my head because Oh he did bad stuff? The King’s Sudden Turn Against the Sheikah

I often think about how The King of the First Great Calamity treated the Sheikah.

Why would the King suddenly believe that the Sheikah, a tribe that had served the royal family for THOUSANDS of years, would turn on them? What reason did he have to believe that? Why treat the people who helped save his kingdom so harshly suddenly?

Then it hit me:

According to 'The Sheikah Divided' section, page 368 of 'Creating a Champion' mentions how the King of Hyrule, after the first Great Calamity, began to fear & doubt the Sheikah and was plagued with an imagined betrayal by them. Anyone who has played Breath of the Wild knows that the King ordered the Sheikah to stop their technological advances and banished them from the kingdom. Half of the Sheikah were upset by this and became the Yiga Clan.  

Then I remembered this

Visions of the future and fortune-telling are everyday things seen in the Zelda series (Breath of the Wild included). What if after the Great Calamity, the King saw a vision of the future of the Second Great Calamity destroying Hyrule, the Guardians & Divine Beasts that helped fight the First Calamity were fighting with it included? There was no context as to why but all it matter is what he saw

That would explain why The King was so harsh on the Sheikah and adamant about burying their technology after the Calamity. ‘Creating a Champion’ even stated that any resistance was met with severe punishments such as imprisonment. The formation of the Yiga Clan more likely solidified The King’s fears of Sheikah betrayal. Forcing the Sheikah to give up that aspect of their culture was wrong, but from his point of view, The King believed he was helping Hyrule out in the long run.

When in reality, it's yet another classic case of...

Burying the technology underground gave Ganon a chance to study them closely. Ganon let the people of Hyrule have a false sense of security for a decade. When the time came he took control The Guardians and Divine Beasts. A move no one had even fathom. Setting Hyrule for a course of chaos & uncertainty for the next 100 years. 

Instead of preventing the Second Calamity, the King set the path for it. That would make what happen 100 years before Breath of the Wild tragically ironic.

A bit of Backstory under the cut

Link was the most recent incarnation of the Spirit of the Hero, though he didn’t realize it until he was well into his thirties. At this point, he had been exploring the world with his flying bear (currently unnamed). It wasn’t until he returned to Hyrule to aid in the fight against a lich and her undead army did his true power awaken. His efforts ended the undead invasion, as well as the resurrection of Ganon, but at the cost of his life. He became known as the Hero of the Unity, as he united all the nations of Hyrule for the first time since the Era of the Wild.

He won’t show up in the campaign, but his actions, as well as the actions of his companions have shaped the Hyrule the campaign takes place in.

You could tell that he was totally lost in his thoughts. His gaze aimlessly staring at the gardens ahead; hand gently cupping one of the dozens of lilac lillies, which had just started to bloom.

You stepped beside him cautiously; studying him. The beautiful flower looked so tiny in his big palm, but his touch was so loving and gentle...

He must think of something wonderful.

"Loki?" You addressed him; voice merely above a whisper. You didn't want to scare him.

No response. Your voice hadn't reached him.

You lifted a hand and slowly laid your palm on his forehead. The raven haired god flinched, before his eyes snapped up to meet yours. "Y-Y/N..."

"Apologies, my love. I didn’t mean to scare you..." Your expression shifted to worry. "What is wrong, my prince?"

Loki swallowed hard; his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat. "I-I... I saw these lillies and thought of my mother... How... How beautiful she'd find them and how proud she'd be of them." A tear rolled down his cheek. "I got lost in thoughts. My mind, once again led me to place full of wonderful imagination - and left me stranded..." He sighed; his head hanging low. "She's dead, Y/N. And that won't change."

You felt your heart aching at Loki's painful confession. You felt so sorry for him. It truly wasn't fair.

"Loki..." You lifted your free hand and cupped his cheek; slightly grazing your thumb over his soft skin. "I'm so sorry your mind plays this cruel game with you. It's hard when our own thoughts turn against us and suddenly aren't a friend anymore, but rather an enemy." He nodded, "It truly is... Normally, I can handle my grief well, but..." and sighed deeply. "It's just... I don't know... Seeing these flowers bloom for the first time since she died just did something to me. There are so many things I wanted to tell her, but couldn't... I miss her so much, Y/N."

His teary blue eyes met yours again; causing you to break as well. "I-I know, my love, I know... Come here." You enveloped him in a tight hug; giving him all the love and comfort he needed right now.

"I know this is anything but easy for you. It always isn't, but... Never forget, my love... Frigga is always with you. She continues to live in your heart - and some day, you'll see her again."

All three Remnants appear as actual children and now Sephiroth, Angeal, and Genesis are stuck in charge of them (unless they want these weird Sephiroth children to get trapped in Hojo's lab). They attempt to take the Remnants to your average sit down dinner restaurant.

Angeal is trying to mold the boys into good eggs by teaching them some manners. He is watching them like a hawk inside and always instructing them to sit up straight, albeit to mixed results. And he's also trying to keep Sephiroth strapped to his seat as well since Sephiroth is ADAMANT about bailing on the little brats.

Sephiroth is extremely disturbed by the Remnants and wants nothing to do with them. Even this facade of normalcy is driving him crazy. He glares at Angeal while eating, ignoring Kadaj and Yazoo tugging at his bangs, trying to eat his steak in (relative) peace until Loz throws up in his lap.

Genesis finds this all HILARIOUS and loves the little gremlins. Everything they do delights him. Flinging food at each other across the table? Hell yeah. Crawling under everyone's legs? Hell yeah. Making Sephiroth completely miserable? HELL yeah. He actually gets along really well with the kiddos. And lowkey wants to keep them out of some secret knowledge that perhaps they really are Sephiroth's babies.

Summary: You help the captain with his unruly beard. Pairing: Steve Rogers x Female Reader Word Count: 324 (a drabble, really) Warnings: Fluff-ish. Alludes to sex. but mostly harmless. A/N: This is just a drabble for the Fourth of July, Steve's Birthday. Happy Birthday, Captain!

Steve’s hand wandered across your back, making you squirm on his lap. “You better stop that,” you laughed.

“What? What am I doing?” he played coolly.

“You’re gonna get yourself cut, is what you’re doing.” You remembered the first time you did this for him, months ago. You had made fun of Steve for his long hair and overgrown beard. With all the missions and whatnot, he didn’t have time to visit a barber, let alone shave every morning. He just let it go. Often prioritizing the mission over what he thought was so trivial.

So, you volunteered to help him. You had gone undercover as a hairstylist in Paris not too long before and picked up some amazing tips. Lessons you were thankful for because you were now sitting astride the Captain’s lap.

You focused the sharp razor on his neck. The polished metal glides against his smooth skin, gathering the cream along with his stubble. You wiped it on the towel you had in between you. He looked down at you, trying to capture your eyes.

“I’m not done with you yet,” you giggled as you jerked his chin back up and continued shaving his beard.

You watched as his Adam’s Apple bounced when he laughed and talked. “Yes, ma’am.” His hands held onto you firmly as he laid his head back on the headrest. “You could be so bossy.” He couldn’t hide the smile that formed on his face at your command.

“Stop talking.”

“Make me,” he teased. You squeezed your thighs closer together pinning him under you. You ground against his growing length, making him bite his lip. 

“Now be a good Captain and follow orders,” you instructed. Steve only chuckled as his eyes darkened, rising up to your challenge.

“You forget who’s in charge here, babydoll,” he growled as he sat up at his full height.

“Oh, no. I never forgot,” you teased. “I just need a good reminder.”

🎄🕯An Unhinged Yuletide Gathering🕯🎄

It's time for a festive unhinged gathering! Arrive in your loveliest ball gowns and with your thottiest thots and feel free to share away! The more, the merrier! I'm thrilled to have every single one of you here. This time, I invite you all to a lavish Scandinavian manor house.

We can watch the snow and the northern lights from the lovely art nouveau observatory of the highest tower. Throughout the evening, the roaring hearths, lush decorations, and golden glow of luxurious interiors will keep us very content. There will be decedant warm beverages aplenty, a scrumptious dinner, and spread after spread of desserts.

The company is, of course, also a mouthwatering collection of our exquisite fictional men.

Jonathan Pine is in a brand new and very smart three piece suit, welcoming you with an incandescent smile as he guides you in. He smells deliciously of expensive cologne and the single festive red rose pinned to his lapel. Before he takes his leave, he holds your hand in both of his and makes some very intense eye contact, saying, "and Miss, if there's anything at all I can do for you, please don't hesitate to find me."

You barely catch your breath as you move further past polished oak doors into the large glimmering ballroom where Loki is lounging on a velvet couch, some elaborate mixed drink balanced in his lovely ivory hand. He charms us all with tale after tale as our cheeks get warm and we take turns feeding him teasing little bites of cake.

Thomas Sharpe stands brooding in his finest tuxedo, desperately waiting for his chance at a waltz with you as you look so lovely this evening.

Eddie...delicous, sweet, snarky Eddie Munson snuck in with the caterers. His big chocolate button eyes scan the crowd of lovely ladies, and he gives a big dimpled grin. With no regard at all for the job he signed up for, he shrugs off the uniform top, smooths out the Iron Maiden shirt beneath it, and swaggers over.

"Welllllll, hello lovely ladies!", he declares as he plops on the couch next to Loki, even daring to cross his legs over the god's lap and steal a sip of his drink. Loki stares at this bushy-haired miscreant with a leathal glare that cracks delightfully into a big euphoric grin. One trickster obviously appreciates the charisma of another.

Adam keeps to himself, playing the most beautiful piece of music on an antique lute. He feels a rare flicker of joy as he anticipates candlelit ghost stories on Christmas night (a sweet revival of a Victorian tradition). The faintest twitch of a smile moves his lips as he thinks of all this...delcious...company he'll have the pleasure of experiencing it with.

Hux sits alone, reading in a quiet parlor. The general's lovely hands stroke his beloved ginger cat, Millicent, as he plays out chess games within his powerful mind. His lovely green eyes flick towards you as he hears your footsteps, and he smiles wickedly. You're the only distraction he allows here, afterall...and what an enjoyable one you are.

Yandere Link x Reader x Yandere Mipha Headcanons

Virgin Link x Reader x Zelda love triangle - Obvious ship is obvious, has been done a thousand times before, we all know the dynamic

Chad Link x Reader x Mipha love triangle - Rarely if ever explored, has more room for interpretation, involves THE superior ship of all time

I think we all know which one is better. (/j because I love the Link and Zelda triangle too)

Pretty much every yandere LOZ writer that I've seen has agreed that BOTW Link and Zelda would not be able to work together. At least not when they first met each other. And I totally agree. They're forced to spend time together nearly 24/7 by King Rhoam, which means they're also forced to share you, and that'll create tension. But Link and Mipha? They would definitely have an alliance. 

Their alliance is based on two factors. One: They share the same goal of wanting to give you the best life possible. Zelda uses you more as a coping mechanism, and even though Link does that too, he's especially focused on making sure that you're safe. Mipha desires the same, as well as making you happy. 

Two: Although Mipha is obsessed with you and priortizes your needs over Link's, she still admires him as a person. She knows how useful he can be. Link respects her as well. Not quite as much, but just enough to accept her into your life and let her help give you everything you want. 

In result, these two work together scarily well, even better than Link ever would with Zelda. They never had past resentment towards each other, and unlike Zelda who can be strongly adamant, Mipha would let Link take the lead and make big decisions.

That... isn't always a good thing. Link is willing to do anything to protect you, even if it includes doing things that would make you hate him. Mipha is aware of this, but she thinks Link is more capable of ensuring your safety than she is, so she'll likely remain silent. But that also means that they have less disagreements, making their alliance even more powerful. 

If you allow them to, they'll spoil you rotten. Mipha uses her royalty riches to purchase anything your heart desires, and Zora's Dormain is basically your playground. You've got just as much power there as she does in some ways. Because of that, this is the place where they'll keep you. 

Link is also putting in work. He'll use his skills as an adventurer to do multiple things in your name, like bringing back rare items from his travels or cooking your favorite foods. If you ever begin a sentence with "I want" then expect Mipha to drop everything just to hear you out. She'll tell Link about it and he'll run off at the speed of light to get whatever it is that you requested. 

Outside of that, the time you spend together as a group is generally quiet. They're both introverted and they would rather watch you do your own thing instead of talking all the time. Just being in your presence is enough to give them peace of mind.

Fortunately, neither are the type of yandere to keep you locked up. Not with actual chains. (Unless they believe you're in severe danger, but something insane like the calamity would have to be going on for that to happen) Link still loves to explore and he would love it even more if he could take you along on the journey. Mipha wouldn't object to that as long as you liked the idea! However, they both know that Hyrule is littered with monsters, so they're not about to let you leave without one or both of them by your side. 

If you ever argue with one, the other will try to convince you to make up with them. You'd think they'd want to turn you against them so they can steal your love, and trust me-- it's crossed both of their minds before. But this alliance has worked really well in their favor and they don't want it to fall apart so easily. 

That's not to say their alliance is perfect. Jealousy still exists in both of them, even if it hasn't been acted upon yet. And like I mentioned earlier, Link is usually the one who makes the big decisions on how to handle you, meaning that their alliance has a power imbalance. 

Plus, Link is stuck guarding Zelda most of the time. Mipha is more than fine with taking care of you by herself, but Link hates the idea of being away for too long. He'll try to convince Zelda to spend more time at Zora's Dormain to avoid getting in trouble with King Rhoam, but he's willing to sneak off if he must. 

If you're accepting, then your future is already laid out for you. It would be extremely difficult for Link to abandon his position as Zelda's knight just so he can become a normal citizen again, even after the calamity is over with. So the easiest way to get around that would be to transfer him to the Zora army instead. Except there might be issues allowing a Hylian inside their guard which is currently composed entirely of Zora... Until Mipha takes the crown and makes some changes. 

Either way, you're going to marry Mipha and be introduced into the Zora monarchy. Congratulations, you're royalty now! You're going to marry Link as well, but not officially, since some people would see it as scandalous to be in a relationship with your knight at the same time as your wife. But neither Link nor Mipha care. They know what your true feelings are and that's all that matters to them. 

But what if you don't accept them? Because as much as they spoil you, they still restrain you. You can't go anywhere alone. You can't do anything that would risk your safety, whether it's monster hunting or just going down a long set of stairs. And they're always second guessing you, especially Mipha. "Are you sure you're alright? I saw you frown for a second. Yes, it was only for a second, but you do know how I worry..."

So even if you like being with them intially, it'll get old after a while. Mipha will notice your discomfort first. She'll adjust those restrictions ever-so-slightly to make you think things have changed, when they really haven't. If you must leave Zora's Dormain without her or Link, then let a guard accompany you. If you must continue associating with that friend of yours, then tell her and Link everything about your relationship. Tell them everything about all of your relationships. They'll find who's good and who's bad for you. (Don't be surprised if they think everyone is bad.)

Link, though... Once he hears about this, he immediately shuts it down. He doesn't trust anybody to protect you but himself. And he's seething at Mipha for being so irresponsible. She's supposed to look after you, not risk letting you escape. 

Just the way that he glares at her is a silent form of gaslighting. She truly isn't fit to take care of you on her own, is she? She's too soft. She needs Link. If it weren't for him, you would have already left her.  

And now that Link has doubts about her ability to keep an eye on you, he'll enforce the rules himself. Now you can't even walk around Zora's Dormain without him by your side- when he's gone, you just stay put with Mipha. Not allowed to do anything until he returns. If you resist, he'll only make your life harder.

But you aren't totally screwed. There is one way to make their alliance fall apart: make them doubt each other. Link already doesn't trust Mipha enough anymore, so you need to manipulate Mipha into turning against Link. Usually that's impossible, but now that her confidence is low, you can appeal to her sympathetic side. Make her feel guilty for letting Link do whatever he wants to you. In this state, it won't take long before she cracks. 

Your best bet would be to trick her into thinking you want to run away together from Link. Actually taking her with you isn't an option. The Zora will go into a frenzy when their beloved princess disappears and if they find you, they'll likely blame you for convincing her to run away. 

Mipha wouldn't want to leave at first. She'd be too anxious about the consequences, knowing that she would have to abandon her father and brother. Knowing that Link would stop at nothing to take you back. She's just so obsessed with you though and she couldn't fathom the idea of you seriously tricking her. Besides, you only want to leave so you can be happy together, right?

She thought so. She really, truly believed so. But you went missing the moment she turned away to pack her stuff. Then... There was no other choice but to tell Link the truth. Because it's Mipha and she's simply not the type to lie, even if it might hurt her.

In this case, though? It isn't even a "might." Link had gotten used to being assured of your safety (or used to being in control of you) that it freaks him out once he hears you're gone. His immediate thought was to go find you, but his second is that how could he have ever trusted someone like her to protect you? He leaps to anger. He draws his sword. 

I can't say for certain what happens next. He knows how much trouble he'll get in for harming her, but in that moment, it wouldn't cross his mind. She probably wouldn't fight back much since she respects him so highly and feels awful for allowing you to take advantage of her. 

...If Mipha dies, the Zora will never forgive you. They'll be more pissed at Link obviously, but they'll blame you for indirectly causing this to happen. The whole LOZ fandom would never forgive you because we all love Mipha. I would never forgive you because I am the ultra #1 Mipha enjoyer. You might be able to live a content life if you can ignore the hatred and hide away, but just know that Link won't be the only one tracking you down. You'll be on the run for the rest of your life.

LoZ - Wolf Song

New HC: Twilight & Time could sing.

Like, I believe that all Links can sing well & are even naturally talented, they just don't sing for one reason or another.

But, Twi, Time, Rhythm, & Wild could sing sing. Not in a classically trained way (except for Rhythm, but that's because he's Rhythm), but Twi specifically had this deep & gritty sound that gives his singing an interesting, soulful charm, but at the same time, he had amazing range. Somewhere between bass & baritone at his deepest.

Think Josh Turner but with an odd hybrid of a (more clear) Donegal Irish accent & a southern American drawl (which is what I hc Ordon's accent to be). I'm specifically thinking about the song "Your Man."

Meanwhile, I see Time as having more of a Bryan Adams type singing voice. Deep, soulful, raspy, but with a hint of challenge behind it all. But with a grit like David Draiman's, though it only shows itself when he's belting it.

I say this because wolves sing a lot & I sorta hc that their singing has a lot of soul in it.

Like, none sing often, but when they do, it knocks your socks off.

And, I also think that their voices contain the most natural acoustimagical resonance out of all of the Chain.
