Hi lovely! I have been having really bad insomnia lately. To the point where I’ve stayed up until 5 am some days. I think it could be due to my upcoming period, which happens sometimes. I was wondering if you could do a poly!marauders, or any one of them, where reader is clearly not getting enough sleep and they/he notice and know her so well that they know why it’s happening. You’re half sure Sirius has slipped a benadryl into your nighttime tea. Smugness radiates off him as his thumb draws heavy circles into your hip and you grow lax against his side. Your hair is still damp from the hot shower he’d coaxed you into. 

Sirius’ lips press gently to your forehead, like he’s checking your temperature. “It’s getting late,” he murmurs. Some bitter, sardonic part of you thinks that it’s nowhere near as late as you’ve been going to sleep for the last few nights, but you’re too lazy to voice it. “Ready for bed, sweet girl?” 

You manage a hum, but don’t move. Your bones feel filled with lead. 

Your boyfriend exhales amusedly like he knows. “C’mere, baby. Come on.” 

He turns off the telly and gathers you up against his side, blankets and all. You begin the slow trudge from the sofa to your bed. Your half gone cup of tea is warm between your palms, and Sirius’ presence just as nice where his arm wraps around your waist and his hip presses to yours. 

Peeling back the covers of your bed feels like a herculean feat. You shed your blanket like a hermit crab trading shells, letting Sirius tuck you in. 

“It’s cold,” you mumble. 

“Give me a second.” 

A short time later, Sirius is crawling into bed beside you and the diffuser you could swear he’s never used before is misting a lavender aroma through the room. You can barely see his silhouette moving around in the dark, but you sigh when his leg crosses over yours. 

His lips are curved when they find yours. “Are you comfy?” he asks in a low voice. 

“Yeah.” You mirror his tone. “I feel like I could actually fall asleep.” 

“Good. Don’t overthink it.” 

You are thinking now, though. Slowly, like moving through sap, the pieces of your night come together in your mind. 

“Are you doing this on purpose?” 

Sirius makes a soft, confused sound. “Don’t know what you mean.” 

“You’ve never…you don’t even know how to use the diffuser.” 

“Sweetheart, you sound ridiculous.” His hand comes around your back, making broad, lulling circles. “I use it all the time. You’re just sleep deprived.” 

You hum, acquiescent. “Well, thanks.” 

“Go to sleep, baby.” 

“M’kay. Love you.” 

Sirius kisses between your brows. “Love you.”

A little bit about me and my 3D art

Wohoo~ my first text only post! 🤪😁

Sorry for not being really active recently. As I started my account here, I wanted to be as active as possible. Boy, oh boy. I didn't expect my frustration towards 2D and 3D art slowing me down to a point where I say that I need a break. I am just writing my frustration down and a bit about me and my 3D art to give a little bit of insight.

I always loved games, since solid 20 years I wanted to do, what the pros are doing: 3D modeling. It's so insane how graphics have changed and what people can do in their free time if it's their hobby. And don't get me started on 3D printing! I would love to sculpt characters that never have received an official figure or my own creations!

I just don't like animation.

When I got my tablet PC for drawing, I was absolutely dumb af. I didn't know that tablet PCs could handle apps for 3D softwares nowadays. Just because of YouTube recommendations I got into sculpting in the first place. Dumb as I am, I downloaded the app, followed some tutorials and quickly became better. I shit you not, that I was and still living my dream and passion. Sometimes, I feel pressured regardless. 20 years not being able to learn it because of not owning a desktop PC that could handle countless polygons making me feel as if I have to learn with light speed. I always wanted to model people and everything that popped up in my mind. I have aphantasia after all, but to me it's less a problem as long it's 3D. Let me draw hands and even an AI is better. It's infuriating sometimes.

I am sculpting for about 6-7 months now, I made so much progress, understanding, learning, and there is still so much to more learn. But I can't and it's driving me nuts. It's only because of these damn hardware issues. At 5 million polygons, my program could crash. At 7-8 million polygons everything slows down and could crash. I can't even save a picture of my progress, since it also crashed by just saving it. It's insane. 😮‍💨

If you ask me about low-poly art then my answer is no. It's not my cup of tea. I would rather do manga, furry and semi-realistic. Of course also NSFW, because I don't mind modeling nude male, female or in between bodies. Perhaps some creatures if I have an idea for it. I love how a simple sketch can turn into something you can turn around. Things like the G-Virus from Resident Evil or the cat with the Tetris stones are things I really loved to sculpt. The cat took me 3 days because, I was constantly sitting in front of my Samsung tablet PC which isn't suited for sculpting like a hermit!😅 If I would have known earlier that it is possible for a tablet to handle 3D things, I would have saved more money and then I would own a tablet PC that could handle more by now. But since I was living under a massive rock, I of course, didn't know better. It's s simply frustrating when you cut or increase the polygon count and suddenly the program you love crashes and everything is gone if I am unlucky. At the moment it's so frustrating, even opening my 3D program feels forced because I know, I'll never be able to do all these crazy stunts and let characters and creatures look realistic enough that even I am satisfied. I am opening my software and I already know, at 6 million polygons, I have to save the shit out of my file and hope that for example fabric like textures don't look too bad when I scale them down. It's because I don't have much possibility to do good retopology to reduce the polygon count and baking. Of course I still have to learn a lot, but I can't really learn it. There is a program explicitly for so-called retopology, but it isn't available for Android users. And my PC? Not possible. I tried with Blender already.

And if you have read so far, let me say thank you.💜 In case I need longer with uploading a thing, it's because I was foaming (silently) again, not because I was lazy. Then I simply took a break, watching more sculpting tutorials and pretending to not be a hermit. 😁

Converting The Sims 4 CC to The Sims 3 Without Installing The Sims 4/Sims 4 Studio

I recently figured out how to convert TS4 CC clothing to TS3 and wanted to share my workflow for my fellow TS3 loyalists who want to convert all the pretty things made for TS4, even if they don’t have the game installed.

A brief summary below. I wrote this with clothing in mind, not sure if it’s different for build and buy objects. This method only works for custom content, not for any content that comes with The Sims 4 base game and expansions. I also assume the reader has some knowledge and experience with cc-creation already before attempting a 4t3 conversion. 

1. Download Sims 4 Package Editor and Sims 4 CAS Tools. You should be able to run these without having The Sims 4 installed.

2. Download the Sims 4 CC package you want to convert.

3. Open the package in S4PE. Find the resources tagged as “GEOM”, these are the meshes from high to low detail. I only care to find the highest detail mesh because the lower detail ones can be made from the high detail one. Right click, export, save as .simgeom.

4. Find the resources tagged as “RLE2″. These are the texture files. Right click, export as DDS, save.

5. We will move on to S4CASTools. Open the program and go to the Mesh Tools tab. Go to the Conversions: TS4/Other tab.

6. Select the TS4 .simgeom file you extracted, and convert it to the format of your choice. 

7. In Milkshape/Blender, import the mesh you converted.

8. Once you have your mesh, you can make your edits to it the same way you would edit any TS3 meshes. For very high-poly meshes (10k+), you can lower the poly count in Milkshape using Direct X Tools, or use the Decimate modifier in Blender. You will most likely need to edit the mesh’s UV-map as well to fit TS3′s UV-map, which hermit-fox covers in the tutorial linked above. Also remember to rename your mesh as group_base before exporting it to use in TSRW.

From this point onward, the process for cc-making would be the same as for any TS3 mesh edits or frankenmeshes (covered in other tutorials). You will have to adapt the TS4 textures to fit your edited mesh’s UV-map, re-make any missing textures like masks, grayscale multipliers, speculars and normal maps, and use Mesh Toolkit to assign bones and make morphs.

I wanted the focus of this tutorial to be on how to prepare TS4 cc meshes and textures for use in TS3 cc creation, not a walkthrough of clothing conversion from start to finish. It’s a bit niche but still I hope it’s helpful and feel free to ask me any questions you have!
