Fall Equinox 2024 Topic: Food
Tumblr media
Because of my rather different set up in life at this time of living with my mother and starting off fresh with my wife, I wanted to make some posts about different ways to incorporate holiday ideas that may be more alternative, low energy, or mindful of other people's situations because everyone celebrates differently.
Topic: Food! Food often is a big part of how people celebrate in social, religious, and cultural senses. The Fall Equinox being the time of the second harvest of the season also gives us opportunities to enjoy and share our prosperity with our loved ones. Typical foods focused around the Fall do vary between locations, family, cultural significance, and diet choices and restrictions. So instead of just mentioning the typical fall ingredients in this post I want to put some ideas to think about:
Family holiday recipes of any kind
Seasonal items in your location or with cultural significance
Food/Ingredients simply from your own garden or farmers markets
Seasonal items at restaurants, fast food, and stores (not everyone can or wants to cook something big or anything at all and that's okay too)
Foods that just remind you of Fall, that may have special feelings or memories.
And of course we cannot forget donating to (and utilizing if needed) food drives, pantries, volunteering, and food gifting as a great way to share the necessity that is food in this world.
What do you like to eat during the Fall?

I consider myself a low energy witch. I don't have a lot of energy to do elaborate rituals and celebrations with each sabbat. But this morning, on the first day of fall, Mabon, I'm having some breakfast with pumpkin flavors, and apple cider. I lit a candle to honor the wheel of the year turning. It's quiet, it's cool outside, cloudy, and I'm content.
Gonna grab two or three leaves, put them around the candle, and say a prayer to the God and Goddess of gratitude and ask them to keep my fur babies and loved ones in good health.

Low Energy/Effort Witchcraft
Are you perpetually busy? Never have any spoons? This might be the post for you. Note that not everything here may be considered low energy or low effort to everyone, and that's okay :)
Carry a crystal around based on what you need. I have a black tourmaline bracelet that absorbs negative vibes throughout the day. I stick it on a selenite slab when I get home to cleanse overnight, then rinse and repeat in the morning.
Put a bay leaf in your wallet to attract money. If you have time, draw a sigil or a $/£/€ on it.
Dedicate anything you drink to your deities if you have any. I dedicate water and black tea to everyone and my favourite raspberry tea to Hathor. Coffee is for Caim.
Enchant your pill case so you remember to take them on time. Enchant your pills to work efficiently. ("Anxiety begone. Ye be banished" on all of my anxiety pills ✌️)
Draw a sigil on your body wash bottle to remove bad vibes or carve a sigil in a bar of soap.
Enchant your moisturizer to repel the evil eye. I fucking love this one.
Incorporate colour magic into the socks you wear (Goths who wear hot pink socks, I'm looking at you).
Enchant your charger so it doesn't break and so you don't lose it. Enchant your phone too while you're at it.
Sorry, I love enchantments--
Uhhhhh
Match those big ol jar candles to different intentions. Burn a cedar candle to cleanse/banish. Burn a cinnamon candle to draw in prosperity. Burn a citrus candle to uplift mood. This one is fantastic for broom closet witches.
Got a humidifier? Fill it up with moon water. You're welcome ;D
Politely ask the spirits of your plants to ward your space. Feed two birds with one scone this way.
Witchy social media. Scrolling on Tumblr and learning something new about witchcraft counts as witchcraft imo. Saving tarot spreads from Instagram for later counts too. Making Pinterest boards for literally anything also counts.
Keep a digital grimoire if doing it on paper costs too many spoons. I have used Google docs & drive in the past but I currently use Notion (You can copy and paste this way!)
If you still want a physical grimoire, print your stuff out and stick it in a binder or glue it in your journal. Boom. Physical grimoire
Listen to witchcraft related videos in the background while you do other tasks or chores in your home
Preparing a meal? Toss in spices that correspond with good health and drawing in positivity, or any other intention you have
Enchant your glasses to help you focus and "read between the lines" or see what wants to remain hidden (this one is a lifesaver at my job)

Bedridden witch: Seasons edition
Tumblr media
I made a series for The Wheel of the Year many years ago but I realize that not everyone follows it and dividing suggestions into the four seasons as well might be more helpful for some!
Spring 🌿
Collect the first rain of the season and keep it in a jar
Drink floral or fruit teas
Burn floral or fruit scented candles
Light a candle or turn on an electric candle.
Open the curtains to let light in.
Visualize a light cleaning each and every room in your home.
Decorate with dried, fresh or fake flowers.
Spray a cleansing spray throughout your bedroom.
Clean an area in your home, big or small. (It could be as simple as making a pile of trash so it’s easier to move later.)
Bathe yourself (either in the tub or sponge bath style). Infuse some herbs/flowers into the water!
Water your plants and whisper blessings to them.
Plant something new! It can be as simple as a beansprout in a paper cup.
Meditate and imagine yourself out in your favorite area in spring.
Make a terrarium.
Spray floral water in the air and on your bedsheets.
Watch for and welcome the returning birds
Learn about local plants.
Crack open all your windows to let in some fresh air.
Bedridden witch: Garden edition
Summer ☀️
Make sun water/tea
Drink fruit teas, infused water or juices
Burn floral or fruit candles
Decorate with flowers and crystals.
Wake up earlier than usual to enjoy a full day of light.
Try to be awake and witness both the sunrise and sunset.
Decorate your windows with rainbow prisms.
Make flower crowns with fresh, dried or paper flowers.
Make sure sunlight and fresh air can reach you.
Enjoy some fresh fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds.
Decorate with/wear/create things with bright colors:
Decorate a new pot for your plants (painting, sharpies, ribbons, etc.)
If you can, put a bird feeder outside your window or just watch them as they fly by.
Pour an offering of water for the plants (indoors, outside or out the window).
Have a picnic (outside, on the kitchen floor or in bed).
Find a way to incorporate honey into your day (scrubs, food, tea, etc.)
Burn beeswax candles.
Listen to music that just sounds like summertime.
Autumn 🍂
Collect the first rain of the season and keep it in a jar
Drink spiced tea, apple ciders
Infuse berries into water.
Burn spiced, woodsy or autumn scented candles
Eat things like breads, nuts, grapes, pomegranates, pies, apples and root vegetables.
Start a new project like crocheting or knitting. This is also a great time to finish that project you’ve been avoiding.
Wear and decorate and create with browns, golds, dark greens, oranges and yellows.
Decorate your home to make it look more like Autumn (fake or real leaves, acorns, paper cutouts, etc.)
Create a picnic/feast wherever is reasonable, with a little bit of everything.
Pull up a video of leaves falling or a fire crackling.
Pumpkin pie, pumpkin spiced-things, pumpkin seeds.
Decorate with small pumpkins, paint them or draw on them if carving is too high-energy.
Create an altar honoring loved ones who have passed on, either a material one or a photo album online.
Pull up a video of a burning fire or light candles.
Turn off all of the lights and sit/lay in darkness.
Visualize your wards and boost your home protection.
Do spirit work/leave offerings for the spirits.
Burn incense/make a spray that smells of spices (cloves, basil, etc.)
Watch spooky/witchy movies.
Winter ❄️
Collect the first snow/make snow water and keep it in a jar
Drink seasonal teas, ciders and hot cocoa
Burn spruce, pine or winter scented candles
Watch gifs/videos of snow, ice forming, fire crackling, etc.
Get/make a small wreath and keep it indoors!
Keep clear quartz and snowflake obsidian around.
Make paper snowflakes! Or find an app/website where you can do a digital one.
Use your heat to draw sigils on frosted windows.
Put a bird feeder outside your window so you get winter visitors!
Get empty glass ornaments and fill them with herbs/pine needles/things that remind you of winter and hang them around.
Get some cute little snow globes.
Decorate with winter colors! White, blue, silver, grey, dark green, etc.
Create an apple pomander with cloves or dried orange slices.
Decorate with evergreen boughs, holly, pine cones, etc.
Wash your face with snow/cold water.
Make rosehip, peppermint, vanilla, rooibos or spiced tea.
Step outside/open a window to feel the cold air (if you live somewhere warm, do this in the early morning/night).
Handcraft gifts for loved ones or write heartfelt cards/letters to the people you care about.
Put birdseed outside/a bird feeder by your window.
Make a simmer pot, or use this idea to create a scented spray.

10 Practices for Low-Energy Witches
Tumblr media
Daily affirmations: Start your day by setting an intention or saying a positive affirmation that aligns with your goals and values. This can help you stay focused and grounded throughout the day.
Gratitude journaling: Take a few minutes each day to write down three things you're grateful for. This can help cultivate a sense of appreciation and abundance in your life.
Mindful breathing: Take a few deep, mindful breaths throughout the day to center yourself and release any tension or stress.
Moon-watching: Take a few moments to observe the moon each night, noting its phase and any changes in its appearance. You can also keep a moon journal to track your observations and feelings.
Elemental meditation: Spend a few minutes each day meditating on the elements (earth, air, fire, water) and their associated qualities. You can visualize yourself surrounded by each element and focus on how they make you feel.
Herbal tea rituals: Incorporate herbal teas into your daily routine and take a few moments to mindfully prepare and enjoy them. You can also research the magical properties of different herbs and choose teas based on their correspondences.
Candle magic: Light a candle and set an intention for the day or visualize your goals and desires coming to fruition. You can also choose candles based on their color correspondences for added potency.
Sigil drawing: Create a simple sigil to represent your intention or desire, and draw it on your skin, clothing, or a piece of paper. You can also charge your sigil with energy by visualizing it glowing with light or energy.
Crystal charging: Choose a crystal that aligns with your intention or desired outcome and hold it in your hand or place it on your body. Visualize the crystal absorbing your energy and amplifying your intentions.
Nature appreciation: Take a few moments each day to appreciate the natural world around you, whether it's the beauty of a flower or the majesty of a tree. You can also connect with nature by taking a walk, gardening, or spending time in a park or forest.
Remember, these are just a few examples of simple, low-energy witchcraft practices you can incorporate into your daily routine. The most important thing is to find practices that resonate with you and align with your personal values and beliefs.
It's important to remember that everyone's energy levels and circumstances are different, and there may be times when you simply don't have the energy or motivation to practice witchcraft. This doesn't make you any less of a witch, or any less magickal. It's okay to take a break and focus on self-care and nurturing yourself. Remember, your magick is always within you, and you can connect with it in your own way, on your own time. Be kind and gentle with yourself, and trust that the universe will support you wherever you are on your journey.

🥀 Lord Lucifer 🥀
Tumblr media
Posting Lucifer, nothing more to add tbh. Just look at him he's perfect what else is there to say.
I asked him to tell me a song he liked and he said this one. Never not having good taste is his main skill. Also the stars on the cover 💫

An easy tip for my fellow spirit workers or others who use candles in their magic (especially "light it and leave it" style casters):
Put stickers on your lighter(s). Have a different colored lighter for various moods or purposes. Put stickers on those shits. My favorite spirit work lighter is hot pink (because it's what I had) and is covered in relevant stickers. A little holographic ghost, a candle, purple and yellow hearts, a butterfly, a white lily, the word "remember."
It's literally that easy. Enchant your lighters. With the power of STICKERS.

Best tip I can offer for devotional days is wearing devotional oils when you lack energy. When your bones are heavy with fatigue and pain. It’s something you can place on your bedside table or leave on their altar space. Try your hand at making an infused oil. If you cannot make an infused deity oil store bought is completely fine.
I like to wear them as an act of devotion. I’ll dedicate my day of rest to my deities, which will help me carry them with me. It adds that extra bit of magic I need to the mundane to make me feel like I’m doing more. Sometimes, devoting rest does not feel like enough (even though it is), so this feels like a good remedy.
Check out my Infused Oils post if you want a how-to on creating oils.

Fall Equinox 2024 Topic: Gratitude
Tumblr media
Because of my rather different set up in life at this time of living with my mother and starting off fresh with my wife, I wanted to make some posts about different ways to incorporate holiday ideas that may be more alternative, low energy, or mindful of other people's situations because everyone celebrates differently. Topic: Gratitude
Gratitude is traditionally something we are showing at this time for our bountiful harvests but this also brings a good time to be thankful for the other things in life that we may appreciate. Being grateful and giving each other grace in itself can be activities that we incorporate into our Fall celebrations! Some activity ideas are:
Gratitude Journaling
Creative Projects Involving Positive Affirmations
Gift Giving and Food Sharing
Giving Words of Appreciation to Others
Donations
Giving Offerings and Thanks to Deities and Spirits
What are you Grateful for this year?

to my low energy and low spoons witches/pagans/practitioners:
don’t beat yourself up if you don’t have the time or energy to do any workings for the first of the month. not being able to do any new month rituals doesn’t make you any less of a practitioner. also i love you and hope you have a lovely month regardless of what you can or cannot do :)
