there was never a time that danbi didn't want to give someone the benefit of the doubt - she was trusting, perhaps naively so, and often had favorable judgement when it came to others, even if she didn't know them all too well. she spent her days trying to be patient and good-natured, and thought kindly of others, believing that there was a good reason behind each action someone displayed, even if the action itself was a little unsavory. there was always an explanation, after all, and she was the type of person who would let you take her lunch if she thought it was because you were starving, never batting so much as an eyelash when someone was in need. but even with her ingenuous nature, she found it odd - and even more so, concerning - that someone would be taking advantage of both herself, and someone so close to her like this.

"it's okay, we'll get to the bottom of this," danbi offers insu an encouraging smile, the two of them huddled together behind one of the washing machines in the laundry room. there had been a string of robberies over the last few weeks - a sock, here and there, missing from everyone's load, someone mentioned missing an undershirt, maybe a pillowcase once or twice, before it had slowly escalated, and now she was missing her apron for work, one of her beloved stuffed animals she had washed, and insu was without one of his favorite plaid shirts and a pair of ripped jeans.

"i really hope they give us back everything," danbi says gently, peeking over insu's shoulder to look towards the entrance. insu had his sneaking suspicions on who might be the culprit, but danbi knew they couldn't just knock on someone's apartment door and accuse them of such a heinous crime without any evidence. she had tried everything to deescalate the situation beforehand too, even hoped to stop the stealing altogether by leaving some old clothes in the laundry room, wishing that the thief would have simply taken those instead, but it seemed they had an affinity for warm items, and would stop the dryer before it was done, fishing out their favorites from the load before disappearing into the night.

truthfully, she felt guilty going to the landlord to report whoever was in need of clothes, so her and insu staking out the laundry room seemed like the next best option before more drastic measures were taken. she gently taps insu's shoulder, whispering loudly over the sound of the dryer, "uhm, what do you think we should do when we catch them?"

Datz Puffin: IT JUST CLICKED….. puffins can fly, but they are most often in the water. this gives me paratrooper who may not necessarily be a great paratrooper… anyways puffins are also burrowers HEHEH which was my main criterion >:3333 idk this one just feels right for me,, they’re so goofy and so datz to me,,, i also added some white to the wings like a puffin’s body. the wings don’t have this, but it feels so recognizable for a puffin that i had to include it

WONKY Harris’s Hawk: YYESSSSSSSS i’ve been wanting to include a harris’s hawk and i think the kitakis are a good choice,, harris’s hawks are called wolf hawks because they are known for hunting in groups !! they are the bird of prey most well known for this behavior :> ,, thats so crime family coded to me YYESSSS (these groups are usually led by a mature female,, just throwing this out there) (tagging the the epic @australianklaviergavin )

Btw, Xiang Liu telling Jing his secret - even if it was only an insinuation and not a direct reveal - is a big deal. It means he fully trusts him. He helps him as best as he can, providing him with that small piece of information that can lead Jing to uncover his brother's schemes against him.
