But we all have immaculate taste and we are vibing. We are sitting in a cosy living room, taking turns reading stories. There is a fireplace and tea and rocking chairs. I'm reblogging this again because this addition is exactly what I believe. Even if you're the only fan of your fanfic or your video, it matters because it's yours. And don't ever been ashamed of that!

I don't think many people realize how much they've been turned into a bunch of casually cynical jerks.

Someone may come to their parents and say "I want to write a book" and their parents will say "it's really hard to get published".

Someone might confide in their sibling and say "I want to sell my art on "x" platform" and that sibling will say "do you know how many people you'd be competing with? Do you know how many shops are even on that platform?"

I know a kid who once told his best friend "I think I wanna start a dnd podcast" and the friend was like "do you know what the word "oversaturation" means?"

Personally, I don't know why any of that matters? And even if it did, perhaps your response should be "Do it! Do it and see where it goes!"

ok, i got this ask ten days ago, and I've been thinking about it ever since. Because I got two other asks asking for fiddauthor, and I dON'T KNOW HOW TO LET THEM DOWN LIGHTLY BECAUSE I'M A FIDDLESTAN BITCH THROUGH AND THROUGH 😭😭😭😭 I LOVE THEM SO MUCH!!!!!!

Don't get me wrong, fiddauthor is great and makes sense and everything. But listen. Billford and fiddauthor are multidimensional ships, they are good! But FIDDLESTAN!?!? that shit is the WHAT-THE-HECK-A-HEDRON!!!!!!! Even though it's literally 100% speculation, the implications are FUCKING CRAZY!!!!!!!!! I jumped between three ships so far during this gravity falls thing, each time thinking one is better than the other. I've decided that FIDDLESTAN IS KING!!!!!! I'm sorry. I could rant about them forever. I've been listening to nothing but extended versions of disco music for the past week. (YES THEY HAD A CRAZY ROMANTIC FLING IN VEGAS NO I WILL NOT ELABORATE!!!! if i see one more person saying that annabeth’s character is “ruined” because leah’s not blonde, i’m actually going to go insane. if you think that annabeth’s motives and character are entirely defined by her hair color, you did not understand the books. her character goes so much further than her appearance. “but leah doesn’t uphold the dumb blonde stereotype” leah being annabeth ENHANCES annabeth’s character arc by covering racism as well.

every single character in the riordanverse has been outcasted and turned away. this includes annabeth. you think that leah’s annabeth, a black girl in the early 2000s, is an exception to this? fuck, even in the episode with the chimera, it’s noticeable. now i dont know if this was intentional, but someone mentioned that the police officer had no problem with walker/percy’s blatant disrespect, but the SECOND leah very normally asks, “are we under arrest?” he accuses her of having a disrespectful tone.

annabeth’s intelligence is in no way related to her hair color. leah portrays annabeth beautifully and i couldn’t ask for anyone better.

Guys bbc merlin is trending. And we’ve made it trend only because the official Merlin twitter changed the bio and tweeted for the first time in ten years. The power of this fandom is unmatched. We feed on literal crumbs and go feral whenever we get the slimmest shred of hope. Now can you imagine if the show actually came back??? Like. Imagine getting to see Arthur and Merlin reunite. The collective madness such an event would unleash. We’d break tumblr for real wouldn’t we.

Just know it's never a bad thing to let yourself enjoy something you're hyperfixated on. In the era of 'cringe culture', and when you can feel so busy you're bursting out the seams working hard to stay afloat, it is never a crime to indulge. You are allowed to write that self-insert omegaverse fic. You are allowed to spend hours drawing your favorite characters. You are allowed to read until three am and put off doing the dishes. Don't hold yourself back from joining that role-playing group. Don't hesitate to start putting together that cosplay. In the daily battle of keeping it together, you are allowed to do whatever you need to do to feel happy. You work really hard, and when you take a rest you should actually rest. And that means doing what makes you feel at peace.

You are allowed to love, and it is never a crime to express that love.

Edit, because a few tags point this out: definitely still take care of yourself! Take breaks, stay hydrated, and make sure to keep yourself safe! Just don't punish yourself for enjoying something just because of your own self-deprication. Don't let cringe culture or guilt about not constantly putting forth 100% effort stop you from finding your peace.
