It’s funny how the two people who were considered ‘outcasts’ were the ones with the most meaningful and painful deaths, both to the fandom and to the ninja.

And then Nya, sweet Nya. My girl was the only girl in a group of boys and was constantly belittled and undermined due to something she cannot control, her gender. She was underestimated by both the public and by her own family and friends. Her name is never truly remembered unless she proves herself, always referred to as the girl, no matter the situation, as if thats her only trait. Not the fact that shes the water ninja, or was samurai X, or the fact that she’s equally as powerful as the others. Especially in the earlier seasons she always seemed like a weird side character that is making a place in a group that has no room, and in the later seasons the others are shown to still not understand her struggles and pains.

Nya and Zane were the two outcasts in the early seasons, and in the later ones as much as they are accepted within their group much more then before, the public will never truly accept them being apart of the group, and the other ninja will never truly understand their struggles (yet when Pixal comes, i feel like they both finally had someone who understood their struggles a bit better then everyone else)

Yet, despite being the so called ‘outcasts’ it was their deaths that caused the most grief and heartache within the family, friends, and community as a whole. Both Nya and Zane had large funerals that had many from Ninjago coming to give their thanks.

Both Nya and Zane were some of the most remembered heroes in Ninjago after their deaths, with the lanterns for Nya and the statue for Zane.

Both Nya and Zane helped the ninja understand others and their own selves more than they could ever accomplish on their own. Both Nya and Zane were safe spaces that held their team together through their existence alone.

And it was the death of Nya and Zane that ripped the team apart, that sent them deep into grief and self destruction for ages until it was both NYA AND ZANE, WHO DRAGGED THEM ALL BACK TOGETHER ONCE THEY REALISED THEY CAN BRING THEM BACK.

Nya and Zane are both considered outcasts, yet now its in a way where the others acknowledge they’re different, and love them with everything in their very souls because they would never want them in any other way.

The topic of their angry musings was unknown to you, but Lloyd kept making commentary on it every now and again which you would happily add onto.

Across from you sat Cole, then to his left was Nya, and the head of the table was occupied by Zane while opposite him on the other end sat Pixal. Zane seemed content to exist in the company of all of you, only chiming in when he felt like it was needed, but he and Nya were definitely whispering jokes to each other every now again between bites of their food. Pixal, you noticed, was actually jokingly joining in on Kai and Jay’s argument. She would add in one point that was completely absurd and it would cause the other two to blow up again. That robot could be devious when she really wanted to be.

Then there was Cole. You were surprised that he wasn’t also a part of the argument, but you suppose the topic of…maybe devil worship? You weren’t sure, but still, whatever it was didn’t seem to interest the earth ninja. To be fair, you knew the other was prone to getting entranced into whatever he was eating at the moment and Zane had done wonderfully with tonight’s dinner (as he always did) so it was understandable really. 

“And, yeah, I don’t know. I just don’t really understand why I’ve always got to be doing something.” Lloyd finished his story up and you nodded along, having listened intently the entire time. 

“I don’t know either man,” you shrugged as you took a sip of your water, “your shit is always getting rocked one way or another.” That caused a slight snort of amusement to exit the green ninja. “I mean, I would’ve already changed my government name and gone into hiding if I were in your shoes.”

Lloyd let out a sigh. “That’s the dream. I don’t know if I could do all of that. Couldn’t leave you guys behind at all. That’d suck big time. Ninjago should just get its shit together so we can have some slice of life anime lives.” You nodded enthusiastically at that idea.

“Ooo yeah. And then we could have like fun drama like…what outfit am I going to wear tomorrow or oh no my hair is so bad!” 

“Yes! You’re getting it.” Lloyd grinned. “I think I should get a cat.” His mind wandered constantly, so you were only slightly jarred by the sudden conversation change. “I’ve heard that their purrs do some sort of healing and I could for sure use some of that.”

“I think we’d all like having a cat around.” You added on. “They’re sort of independent, so it would be a good pet for our lifestyle.”

Lloyd was about to respond to you, y’know how conversations work, when all of a sudden Jay slammed his palms onto the table as the “argument” had escalated. It caused the table to shake and before you could stop it your water glass had fallen down and drenched your shirt. You let out a loud gasp which quickly caught the attention of everyone.

“Oh my God, [name], I’m so sorry!” Jay began profusely apologizing, scrambling about the table to find some napkins. Kai was howling with laughter just happy to not be the one who fucked something up. Lloyd was a bit in shock, Zane and Nya had both gotten up to grab some towels from the kitchen with Pixal not far behind, and Cole seemed to be frozen. You were too caught up in the water seeping through your clothes to notice, but the ninja sat opposite you seemed to have his eyes locked onto you, his body tense.

“Jay, it’s fine.” You quickly reassured as you stood up, Cole’s eyes following the movement carefully, “I’ll just go get changed. You’d try again later, you decided.

Letting those who had left to the kitchen know where you were going, you made your way to your room with your arms held awkwardly in the air so that the weird feeling of the wet fabric wouldn’t be sticking to your skin too bad. Before you could forget, you made a quick stop by the bathroom in order to grab a towel from the cabinet.

Dragon Rising spoilers! Kinda!

Geode/Lostshipping (Cole/Geo): S-tier. Alright, so this may be an unpopular opinion, especially because it has the fandom weirdly divided- but I do really enjoy the ship. They’re so soft with one another, and they act very domestic. I mean- Cole and Geo show multiple times that they’re affectionate: holding hands, hugging, and just looking at each other with the most lovesick expressions I’ve ever seen a Lego character have.

Not to mention they literally basically have two adopted (three, counting Bonzel) children. They’re literally found family, and it it the most adorable thing ever. Cole literally does everything for Geo and their little family- protects them, cooks for them, and comforts them.

And… guys… Cole literally confesses that he needed Geo to realize his true potential. Their elemental powers formed a HEART. If that ain’t gay, I don’t know that is.

Wyldfyre/Roby: S-tier. People got so mad over this happening, and it’s genuinely hilarious. Wyldfyre, from my recollection, is a teenage girl- and yes, she may have been raised by dragons, she may be tom-boyish and hotheaded- but that does not exclude her from having teenage-girl feelings.

And not to mention their dynamic is adorable. A tech-obsessed boy and a girl who doesn’t really understand tech but admires his nerdiness anyway. I mean- come on- they literally roar at one another. They match each other’s energy, and I really enjoy it.

Also, they are just silly- Wyldfyre literally got over one of her fears for the sake of Roby. Two dumb kids in love, let them be.

Glaciershipping (Zane/Cole): S-tier. I personally also really like this one. Maybe it was the color dynamic with their gis or really just their little bits they had throughout the seasons (before Dragon Rising). Growing up, this was one of the big ships of the fandom, and I’m pretty sure it still is? Nonetheless, early seasons really peaked with these two.

Banter really makes up a lot of their dynamic. When the silly robot man and silly Earth ninja bicker it’s like watching a married couple. And really, they’re both just big dorks who share a single brain cell with one another (Zane always has it).

The Rocky Dangerbuff and Snake Jaguar bit really drove the point home, because they’re literally so stupid (/affectionate) it’s adorable.

Pixane (Pixal/Zane): S-tier. Oh my goodness, this ship is actually the most adorable thing. Zane and Pixal- for some reason- have such a special place in my heart. Perhaps it’s the way they sacrificed for each other- the way Zane willingly gave half his heart to her. Their banter- their love- the way Zane jumps into Pixal’s arms.

Their dynamic has always been so cute. Nerdy idiots who fall deeper in love the longer they’re together. In Dragon Rising, Zane is literally so desperate to have her back- it’s honestly so sad- but it’s so sweet that he cares so much about her (Ninjago, this is my plea to bring Pixal back).

Not to mention, they’re one of the only canon couples in Ninjago who get a good dynamic (other than Jay/Nya).

Jaya (Jay/Nya): A+-tier. Alright, to explain myself here. The only reason I knocked Jaya down from S-tier is solely because some bits in their dynamic kinda threw me off- and of course, there was that weird love triangle thing that they- for some reason- went through with (Ninjago, what was that).

Otherwise? They are an adorable couple. Jay and Nya work well together- Jay being a bit nerdy, and of course, at first, nervous- and Nya who has always been on the more confident end. They are Yin and Yang. As they grew, their understanding grew, and overtime, they started to go from that awkward couple phase to really being in love. And of course, like all good couples in Ninjago, apparently, they sacrificed for one another- risked their lives- and stressed when they were apart.

I genuinely miss that dynamic in Dragon Rising. Jay needs some sense knocked back into him (/lh).

Bruiseshipping (Cole/Jay): A+-tier. This one was another very popular one in the fandom as I grew up. And, again, dropped from S-tier solely because the few off-points the two had.

While the two are known for their bickering and their fights, it’s stated multiple times that they’re best friends (and friends to lovers trope sits amazingly with me). Cole and Jay would clearly do anything for each other- and probably play-bully their way through it. One defining feature of their canon interactions is how they always have different outlooks, or completely agree on a matter- and it’s always hilarious because they’re similar in the most different ways.

Otherwise, it’s a good ship. They could work.

Oppositeshipping (Kai/Zane): A+-tier. I believe they’re also called Peppermint (haha, red and white), but I personally think the opposites attract dynamic works well between these two. Hotheaded and levelheaded, brains and brawn, fire and ice.

I think I started liking this dynamic a bit more in the middle-seasons of the original Ninjago franchise, when they really started building the dynamics between the ninja. Kai and Zane have always had their banter, and their contradicting view points, but at the end of the day, they have each other’s back. And, of course, they do have their on-screen sweet moments.

(This also applies to the Ninjago movie, I love their dynamic there as well.)

Lavashipping (Kai/Cole): A-tier. Ah, I can’t remember if this one was ever very big in the fandom. I mean, I’ve seen fanart, but of course, it’s hard to tell with other popular ships.

I personally like this one- not as much as others- but their dynamic is cute, and they have their moments. Kai is always seen as protective, and Cole is a defender. So- when something happens to one or the other, they tend to panic. I can’t remember the season name, but the best example I can think of off the top of my head is when the Oni take over Ninjago and cover it in a dark fog- and Cole falls inside of it. And of course, there’s those scenes where the two hug.

They have a lovely dynamic. Fire/Earth, it tickles the brain.

Technoshipping (Jay/Zane): A-tier. If I’m not wrong, that should be their ship name (I actually had to Google and look at Reddit to find anything about it). Much like Lava, I think this ship is good.

For a long while, Jay was a big technology nerd- and oh? Who was his muse? Zane (/j). But, no, the two have their banter, and the silliness between tech-wiz and sentient robot is always hilarious in my mind. And of course, they do care a lot for each other. Not to mention the short where they literally perform a music act together- and Jay spins and dips Zane moments before that.

I put this in A-tier because, of course, there’s better ships in my mind- and the two have had their own disputes.

FrozenGear (Dr. Julien/FORMER Master of Ice): A-tier. I’ve seen fanart of this ship, and I ADORE it. It’s such a silly concept, and I love the idea that the Former Master of Ice fell in love with this scientist- and gave their robo-son his elemental abilities.

I don’t even know if that’s their ship name, I’m basing this off of a ship wiki.

But, all and all, it would explain the reason why Zane was gifted the element of Ice.

Dareth/Ronin: B-tier. I put this here solely because I’ve always viewed this ship in more of a crack ship kinda way. It’s silly, and of course, they banter.

Dareth and Ronin have their bits where them dating (even in an on/off) kinda way makes sense- I mean, hell, the two argue like a couple and they’re always goofing off.

Otherwise, I’d say the ship is a solid one, some people like it more than others.

Lloyd/Akita: B-tier. I was heavily debating where I’d even rank this ship, solely because I have no strong opinions on it. But, in the end I chose B-tier. While not being a ship I think about, it’s one of the only good ships I’ve ever seen with Lloyd- after they started getting along, anyway.

I suppose I can see why people ship it, but it was only a season thing- and we haven’t seen Akita again- so it’s very likely she was a one-off character to have, solely because Lloyd is tragic (/lh) and needs a new love interest every few seasons to build trust issues.

Zane/Frohicky: B-tier. Before anyone says anything, it’s solely because of their dynamic. I like this ship a bit, and I think that they’re a silly duo. Frohicky, after all, is a very caring individual, and is always trying to make sure Zane is okay/comfortable.

And there was that scene where the two sat together through Zane’s identity crisis after losing his look-alike competition.

They’re just cute.

Samuraishipping (Pixal/Nya): B-tier. It’s not a bad ship. They have a welcoming dynamic with one another, and a similar interest in technology.

In scenes where they work together, it’s often expressed that they work well, and build off of each other’s abilities, enhancing a singular creation further. Not a ship I obsess over, but a ship that lingers in my mind sometimes and makes sense.

Arin/Euphrasia: B-tier. Again, another ship I don’t think often about, but I think they could be a really good duo- bot teenagers figuring out their elemental abilities and learning what they can do.

I also like their playful attitudes and lighthearted humor- Arin being a little more clueless than Euphrasia, of course.

But, they would be cute.

Plasmashipping (Jay/Kai): C-tier. I know some of you might get mad at me for this ranking, but truthfully, I never liked this ship all that much. It was very popular in the fandom (up there with Glacier) but, I never found the full appeal.

Of course, they have their bits and banter, but I prefer their silly dynamics in a goofball friend way. But if you ship this, go right ahead- they do have their moments when they’re shippable.

Solid ship, just not for me.

Garmadon/Vinny: C-tier. This is another one I always kinda viewed as a crack ship- I really don’t know when or how it spurred into being something that I saw maybe… three pieces of fanart for? I personally thought it was silly.

There was that moment where Garm asked Vinny to help him become good- maybe that started it? I dunno, but I do think about that season sometimes and giggle a bit.

Zane/Nya: C-tier. I don’t know if they have an actual ship name, but oh well. I don’t love this ship, but I also don’t hate it. It’s an interesting appeal.

Personally, I think their dynamics are alright, they tend to chat and banter, but they’ve always felt more friendly towards one another to me. I do enjoy their moments together on screen, their little side-rambles. They’re both nerds.

Kailor (Kai/Skylor): C-tier. More of you may get mad at this, but I never liked this ship. Didn’t hate it, but still, didn’t like it. It felt forced, and it was incredibly awkward. It almost felt like they were trying to get all the characters a s/o, because at that time, Pixane was established- and I can’t remember if Jaya had started or was being hinted at.

It improved some- and then it just wasn’t touched again. Felt like a crush rather than them actually falling in love at any point- which was probably the idea there. I can see why the ship is popular, but it’s not my cup of tea.

WolfCat (Sorra/Jordana): C-tier. They’re one of those dynamics I feel could work. Especially if it’s enemies, to friends, then to lovers. I am ranking this C-tier, solely because their dynamic has only been explored to a certain extent- showing their problems with one another- and of course, Jordana trying to break away from being possessed.

If they’re explored more, I feel this ranking could rise higher on the list.

Lloyd/Morro: D-tier. No. Just… no. While it’s not the worst possible ship, I still think it’s one of the weirdest. And at this point, I don’t even know what to say about it- other than Morror is a spirit who possessed Lloyd. I think they’re represented to be around the same age, but still… it’s such an outlandish ship because… Morro has been dead for… years.

I know at some point the fandom liked it for god knows what reason. But, I’m really starting to think people like shipping Lloyd with antagonistic characters.

Conya (Cole/Nya): D-tier. Again, another big nope from me. I know some people ship it, there was that whole love triangle thing- but throughout that entire bit, Cole really just felt like he was competing with Jay. For shits and giggles.

And Cole and Nya’s dynamic always felt more like best friends to me- like, they care about each other, but not in a romantic way.

Conia (Cole/Vania): D-tier. I can’t see this one really at all, but it’s not F-tier material. Vania’s and Cole’s relationship felt platonic- Vania seemed innocently curious about the ninja.

They just seem like friends who have one another’s backs, and they call when the other needs a pick-me-up. Good friends.

Lloyd/Harumi: F-tier. Oh my god. There are so many reasons I personally DESPISE this ship. For starters, and the most obvious reason- she tried to kill him. Multiple times. Some of you might say she had a redemption arc, I DON’T CARE. She- first of all- was manipulative. Secondly, I know she had a rough past that she blamed on the ninja but… where was that their fault? Third of all, she played with his feelings repeatedly.

Oh, and- I don’t know if anyone even begins to remember this- but in Sons of Garmadon, Garmadon literally adopts her. Calls her his child and everything. I don’t know if people forgot that, or if it’s dismissed as nothing- but guys. GUYS. He adopts Harumi.

And I think it’s easy to say that she gave Lloyd trust issues- major trust issues. Dude literally has trouble trusting princesses over her.

I just want to take this ship and burn it in a fire.

Lloyd/Ras: F-tier. Listen, I’ve seen maybe two people ship this, and no offense to anyone that does- but SERIOUSLY. Ras is a whole ass manipulator, for one- secondly, he’s another antagonist- three… He has also tried to kill Lloyd.

Ras is an entity of mind games, and Lloyd is an insomniac trying to live up to his Uncle’s standards. That doesn’t mix.

Lloyd/Any of the other ninja: F-tier. Get the fuck out. One, even if he aged up, he’s still mentally younger then they are. Two, they’re all basically his older siblings. Three, it’s GROSS.

Lloyd has only ever acted like a younger sibling towards the other ninja. The other ninja protect him like a younger brother. I will throw hands.

concept! now hear me out here. pixal and kai... in an arranged marriage.

why I think this would be a good idea:

they have one of the funniest dynamics in the show

I love the idea of royalty, and how the two of them would interact with it differently (I think pixal would understand the system more, and would try to work around it to change things for the better, while kai would be loud and obnoxious about things he wants to change and it would attract attention that could either be helpful or massively backfire)

ninjago AUs make my brain go bzzz

and there are SO MANY ideas in my mind for, like, sideplots. the main plot would be, of course, pixal and kai getting to know each other, navigating their relationship (which would be PLATONIC, of course, just to be clear), and balancing their different styles of being royalty.

potential side plots!

jay and cole working in the palace (perhaps cole as a cook and jay as a waiter- that's the first thing that comes to mind at least) and being, like, the comedic side duo, as well as two of kai's buddies

pixal getting to know nya as well as kai, and nya admitting that she LOATHES the idea of an arranged marriage, although pixal's happy for the opportunity and is rather enjoying the change

kai trying to figure out how to ask whether pixal would mind if he goes on dates with other girls, and then once she says it's fine (they are friends, after all), he also has to figure out whether he actually WANTS to go on dates with other girls (aromantic kai? yes please)

zane is a frequenter of the palace, to visit kai and nya, though he doesn't work there. anyway, he's delighted to meet pixal, and they get to talking, and they turn out to have a lot in common, and THEY'RE SO SWEET AND IN LOVE YOU GUYS

What do you most want to see happen in DR going forward?

Answering a few asks that I didn't know how to answer before just because there's so much to talk about!

I still don't fully know how to answer this, I'm not gonna lie, because thus far about half of the things happen the way I want but like so much stuff happens that I never expected and yet I'm never disappointed, so realistically, whatever they do will be phenomenal!

Personally, though, I would want them to keep Arin with Ras for the entirety of season 3 and more. I also want Jay to stay shattered for longer than a season. I know that this is probably a stretch especially on Jay's part, but a girl can dream. I also hope that they add more Geo lore, not even for the purpose of Geode but because I think that Geo is such an interesting character with so much potential and he deserves his moment to shine as his own character and not just as Cole's boyfriend (even though I love Geode). I also want more Zane! I know there are apparently leaks of him on the box art so hopefully that means we're getting more Zane this season, and if we do, I hope we find out how he got in the Imperium Monastery and I hope we finally get Pixal back! I want Cole or Lloyd to beat the daylights out of Ras. Both of them are completely justified to do so. On the topic of Lloyd, I also want him to continue struggling with the title of Master. Yes, his teaching worked for Sora, and yes, the ninja keep reassuring him that he's suited for the title. But Lloyd lost Arin. And that's huge. The parallels are crazy. I just hope they handle that situation well.

I feel like there's so much more I would want to happen but I've yapped a lot and there's so much that I don't even know how to list it out. Dragons Rising has exceeded my expectations in so many ways and it's only on season 2 so even if some of these don't happen, I know I'll still love it because they manage to blow my mind with every new episode.

Me rambling about Ninjago Garmadon-Wu Swap (with the effect of other people's alignments and effects changing/being altered)/Main Four aren't the Main Ninja. I ramble cause I want to even though I should be working below cut.

NINJAGO SPOILERS WILL BE UNDER CUT ALONGSIDE RAMBLLING

Okay Okay, so Wu is the one bitten by the Great Devourer instead of Garmadon cause Garmadon said something like "your sword, you grab it, I'll make sure you won't get in trouble." Yeah yeah, the Overlord didn't really expect that route but one of the FSM's son now have evil in their veins so whatever.

Most events take place like normal; Garmadon is a bit more wary and cautious and protective and felt like for a long time it is his duty to make sure his little brother doesn't become evil. When Wu becomes evil, Wu is more evil as a villain rather than Garmadon. Oni Dragon symbolizing; Garmadon still Oni while Wu is dragon. An evil-lized dragon posing as creating and respectable and "good" while the oni might be destructive in some methods but has good heart.

Morro! Oh I love Morro. He gets to be alive. So since Garmadon is rasing a baby Lloyd (+ baby Mikoto. Mikoto is my Ninjago OC & Lloyd's Older Twin Sister. Yeah I love my girl Miko) around the same time a kid Morro is around getting trained by Wu (not as evil since Wu wasn't evil at the moment). He gets upset that he isn't the Green ninja (apprently one of the reasons Morro wanted to be the Green Ninja so badly cause he thought of it as The Green Ninja will be Wu's number one best student or something like that).

Some angst but when Wu was fully evil by Great Devourer's venom, Morro was living in the Monastery of Spinjitzu, so that meant he witnessed his father figure be evil and his "uncle" fight him. A few days prior, Morro couldn't help but sometimes think that his sensei was acting more off so when those two had to fight, Garmadon had directed him to be safe along Lloyd and Mikoto until everything was descalated. Morro doesn't know if his Sensei still cares for him or sees him as a permanent enemy. Morro continues training under Sensei Garmadon cause he wants to fight and be strong. Ninja of Wind, and since Wind was never in the Elemental Alilance (since Wu said like "he had a power over the Wind I had never seen before"), Morro chose his color as more saturated and/or darker greens (Sage Green and Olive Green) along with some black (more cause I think the dude is some form of alternative like emo).

Now here is more crazier changes. I definitely based this off cool fanfic series of a roleswap au on a03 of Dark Sides By RebelFanja which is a AU that The Main Four are working for an evil Wu while Pixal, Nya, Skylor, and Seliel are the Ninja. A quite bit is directly inspired from them so yee!! I am definitely having that. THO, big differences I make right off the bat is aligning stuff to Season 8+ stuff cause I watched everything currently AND only one Wu hadn't the chance to manipulate and recruit is Jay.

Why not Jay? Jay is the son of Cliff Gordon and the former Master of Lightning. Libbey goes missing so that meant on paternity leave- Cliff has to figure out what to do with baby Jay. Before Libbey suddenly vanished, she was talking to Jay on a day something along the lines of "..I am scared for you Jay, Garmadon warned us that Wu is completely bad now...he's smart. What if he plans to do something?! He wants power over those Golden Weapons.."

Cliff knows his wife can act nuts but he concluded it as "someone is going to hunt down my son and use him so that means knowing on where he will be is bad" so Cliff drops him off at a junkyard where he knows it will be safe. He made sure that there will be tabs on his son. This is for the security of his son.

[I honestly think Libbey & Cliff was a good relationship, Cliff became a womanizer/flirting with other women AFTER Libbey was gone.]

The other three, yeah no. You three get manipulated hammer. Ray and Maya still get kidnapped and forced to work with Krux and thus leaving Kai and Nya alone. Cole is grieving because of Lily's death. Zane believes by working with Wu, he is protecting those who cannot be protected (Zane is getting decived big time to be villain.)

Okay, now, lovely Girl bosses.

P.I.X.A.L still is made by Cyrus though Borg Industries is bulit before hand, like a few years before Pliots/the beginning. I like Magnetism that RebelFanja had as Pixal's Elemental Power so I'm keeping it. She likes being useful, and she takes a little while before she breaks her code and be more human and lively. She is loyal and responsible, keeping track of many things.

Nya was left alone after both her parents vanished and now her brother. Garmadon was around and saw the alone girl, and told her about how both of her parents were Elemental Masters, and he figures out she inherited element of Water. Nya was in denial, thinking as she was just normal. Though, if this dude's brother might of been the reason for her brother not seeing her anymore, might as well join him.

Seliel. I actually never read the story she came from, so, yeah. Idk how she joins Garmadon (actually, idk how I will write well why any of the girlies would join Garmadon and become a Ninja). I'll make up her element and she's Master of Stamina. She called it Energy since it was basically just Energy Manipulation in the sense of it basically Controls Energy of Living Beings. Can make someone have so much energy or steal their energy so they are fatigued. If Seliel isn't Master of Stamina, I'll do Master of Spirit/Phantom which is mimicking/doing the properties of a ghost and do what a ghost or even a spirit can do while being obviously alive + no death cause water, though, water is the number one weakness. Nya and Seliel have to be careful and make sure planned attacks are coordinating good.

Skylor. I know you would join somehow. Idk how to explain.

Now. Who is the Green Ninja in this AU?

I have three candidates.

• Lloyd Garmadon

○ The Canon One.

• Mikoto Garmadon

○ It is a swap au, so I wanna swap the Garmadon Twins! Mikoto would be a great Green Ninja as her brother is an awesome Green Ninja. Lloyd and Mikoto are similar in personality at core, but, they act different; Mikoto is definitely adaptive type and would use ANYTHING she has in her toolbox. Canon!Version of Mikoto literally uses regularly after she learns how to use the powers of Destruction and Creation since she lacks Elemental Powers. Mikoto is crazy supportive as she is the older sister and protective. Plus, she is definitely more brutally honest and sassy than Lloyd.

• Harumi

○ Girl Power!!!! Harumi as Green Ninja would be epic. Plus, Her and Morro would be Alt-Kids Together and Besties. Little Sis and Big Bro.

Okay, there are just so many great things about the first season of Dragons Rising and I could spend hours talking about it all. But out of everything I just really, really love and appreciate and applaud this season for the way it really focused on displaying and developing the relationships between all these characters.

Especially since we got so many brand new characters introduced in such a short stretch of time, working with old and new characters alike in brand new settings with new stakes and everything, I think it was such a perfect choice to really spend a lot of time on establishing who these people are to each other.

Arin and Sora have such a clear and beautiful (platonic, as heavily implied imo) relationship, open enough for Arin to openly admit that he loves her. Lloyd, Arin, and Sora navigating a solid mentor/student dynamic. Kai, Nya, and Lloyd spending a good first chunk of the season exchanging sibling banter and working together seamlessly. Zane missing Pixal so much it almost hurts to watch. Mr. Frohicky learning his place as a member of the Monastery. Cole’s found family relationship with Fritz, Spitz, Skulkin girl(?), and Geo. Nya and Cole exchanging soft words and gentle affection. And, of course, Kai and Wyldfire going from barley being able to cooperate together to a solid mentor/student friendship full of mutual love and respect. Just warms my heart, y’all.

When it comes down to it, this is what I love most about Ninjago. Before all of the exciting action adventure sequences that pulls these plots along, the softer, gentle found family dynamics forged along the way make up the core of the show. In earlier seasons, this is what the show focused on a whole lot more and I feel like as we got into the later seasons, some of that message was a little lost, or at least less focused on. With the soft reboot being established, the show needed a solid anchor to build from, and I think they made the perfect choice for what that should be. This is what Dragons Rising did best. So much has changed within the series, but this shows me that this is still the Ninjago that I know and love.
