Saiwa's Therapy Game - Part 3 It starts -> here

10.000 Miles Away

Captain Duath sailed 10.000 miles (more or less ^^') until he found a decent remote island.

'And sing blow the winds high-o, a-roving I will go. I'll stay no more on England′s shore or to hear the music play, For I'm off on the morning train and I won′t be back again. For I'm taking a trip on a Government ship Ten thousand miles away.'

An island all for himself! THAT was his dream! Living all by himself and caring only for himself! This is a place where he can fully concentrate on his healing.

Captain Duath moored his dinghy thing and unloaded his few belongings before he explored the small island. Until he found a mailbox - and a flamingo. The label on the mailbox read: Flamingo Island... He always loved flamingos...

(TMI: I created Saiwa in November 2014 as Giga Byte for a career special where she lived as a hacker above the 'Flamin to Go' takeaway.) There also was a flamingo poster in the trailer of the StrangeTrailer Park in Strangerville which later hung in Sai and Jack's apartment at Belgraves Institute.

But a flamingo also is a bird and will remind him of their unfinished business with his damn fake relationship with Kiyoshi. Saiwa is sure that this is no coincidence. Tiny Can won't let him off the hook this easily as it seems. No matter how far he runs away from his problems.

He'll think about that later. Here ingame, he has any time in the world. First he needs a shelter and the buildmode in the Therapy Game was a joy! (Did the flamingo turn towards Sai? He seems to watch him ö.Ö')

Soon he built a little shack out of some thriftwood and stuff he found in the ocean (which was also good for the environment ^^).

To show Tiny Can that he's not just lazing around and to show his goodwill to change, he went with the Flamingo Island theme and built a flamingo patterned armchair. He even found a flamingo towel and shorts...

Saiwa was very dirty after cleaning up the ocean and he urgently needed to take a shower. He thought it's ok that he put the shower outside. The shack is already too small and no one will see him out here anyway.

'No one' was really surprised by the unexpected sight ^^'

Saiwa was hungry after all the work and so he went to catch some fresh fish. He couldn't be happier. He can eat when he wants and what he wants (as long as it's fish ^^') and no one is disturbing him here! (But maybe this island is abandoned because of the fuming vulcano that might 'disturb' him sooner or later ö.Ö')

And while he was grilling his fish, butterflies surrounded him. Just like paradise! (Can you spot all four butterflies? Minus the flying fish ^^')

While he ate and looked over the calm ocean, he thought about all the things that are stirring him up inside and keeping him from his calm and that he needs to tackle in his therapy. The leadership of the Boys, his relationship with Jeb and his friendship with Kiyoshi. A lot of 'ships'. Maybe therefore Tiny Can made him a captain ^^' And maybe the flamingo bird means he should work on his friendship with Kiyoshi and Jeb first. So they can finally go back home and try to have a halfway normal life together again.

Before he leaves the game, he laid in the sun for a while and let his thoughts flow. Will it be possible to stay the leader or will he have to give it up for his relationship with Jeb? Or will he have to give up Jeb for the Boys?There will always be situations where he will have to put the Boys over Jeb. Is it fair to keep Jeb by his side if he can't be his top priority? He hates to hurt Jeb, but it will happen again. Will there be a way to deal with it? Or would it be better if they kept their distance and Jeb found someone other than him? Who would love him like he deserves it? Jeb is too stubborn and loves Saiwa too much to break up. Even if he were unhappy.

And how are they even supposed to go back to normal? Kiyoshi, Jeb and him. After all that had happened? He had that damn fake relationship with Kiyoshi to get him out of that tree because they thought Saiwa was Kiyoshi's fated mate and now Jeb and Kiyoshi live together. And there are still all the other problems he has as their leader. That they have to stay together or armageddon, Ji Ho's lost feelings, Jack's pain because he left Kiyoshi, his real fated mate. The Council. And the sword of damokles over their heads that Ji Ho's grandfather did something that let put Ji Ho a spell on Vlad to seduce him to obtain his powers for the Council... OMG! They might be safe in the Otherworld from their enemies for now but their problems are following them whereever they go. Is it even possible to go back to the real world? (Yep, that flamingo is definitely moving! ö.ö)

Outtakes This is so annoying that there are abandoned boats on the ocean -.-You can't put them in your inventory so I let Saiwa move it behind a rock when we started this session and now it's back again!

Cherry woke up the next day not wanting to break up, but to make out with Mason. Rocco and Hannah also lost their wants to break up with each other, though they had barely spent time together since getting them the previous day. Rocco approached Hannah to flirt with her as she was flirting with Ciaran, and her want to break up with him returned.

I sent them to the terrace together so she could dodge that bullet. They were both left with “Deeply in Love” and “Bitter About Breakup” sentiments. They had a friend bar around 60% and a red love bar around 55%. Now Hannah’s strongest connection was Ciaran, with a full love bar and nearly full friend bar. She also had small connections with Mason and most of the other girls. Rocco’s only other connection was Jen. Meanwhile, Ciaran got a want to get engaged (or become an official couple) with Jen.

Rocco decided to lead a yoga routine, and was joined by a few of the others. Jen took part, and gained a “Closer from Happy Memories” sentiment.

Camilo flirted with Hannah and she gained a “Comfortably Compatible Lifestyles” sentiment for him, but he gained none for her. Cherry and Jen chatted for a while, and then Hannah flirted a bit with Cherry.

Then Yasmin flirted some with Hannah, who gained a “Comfortably Compatible Lifestyles” sentiment. Jen chatted with her good friend Lottie and gained an “Adoring” sentiment. Then she gained one for Ciaran as they flirted, and he gained a “Closer from Happy Memories” sentiment for her. Hannah had multiple wants to chat with Levi today…I wonder why that’s about? Yasmin and Camilo argued about politics.

Since Ciaran was technically still in a love triangle between Hannah and Jen, and Hannah kept kissing him, the situation wasn’t compatible with the Loyal trait, so I switched him back to Good. Then he and Hannah kissed while Jen was in the bathroom.

Cherry got her second want in a row to break up with Mason. There sure is a trend going around. 

Jen and her friend Mason chatted as they worked out together. Meanwhile, Ciaran made out with Hannah in the closet, unprompted. Cherry chatted with Camilo as the Islanders started heading for bed, and they flirted some.

When Mason approached to go to bed with Cherry, she let him down easy. They apologized to each other and were only left with “Deeply Connected” sentiments.

Then she, Hannah, and Yasmin all slept in day beds (Hannah shared with Yasmin, as they had a stronger connection.) We finished the day with only three couples: Lucas and Priya, Tim and Lottie (“Tittie”), and Ciaran (who also liked Hannah) and Jen. Everyone else was single. I think this calls for drastic measures…

LITG Sims Season 2

Welcome to Love Island Sims Season 2!!

This season we are starting off with Lottie, Lily, Priya, Elladine, Erikah, Kassam, Tim, Reese, Levi, and Camilo. I’ve started an entirely new game, so repeat characters have clean slates. I used my spinner app to choose my lineup; it’s entirely random.

I didn’t start with full autonomy this time. That way I was able to line up my boys by the pool and bring out the girls one-by-one to meet one boy at a time, before coupling based on their relationship bars. I made each girl have a very brief conversation with each boy and rolled the dice to choose a different romantic interaction for each boy to throw back.

Lily went first. She didn’t make a romantic spark and stood next to Levi based on a slightly higher friendship bar. Can’t blame her.

Elladine went second. She made a spark with Kassam when he offered her a rose, and stood next to him.

Erikah went third. Tim and Camilo both offered her roses, and Kassam caught her off guard with a bold pickup line. She connected with all three and had a harder decision to make than the first two girls. The love bars all looked the same but Camilo’s friendship bar was a little higher so she stood with him.

Lottie went forth. I had her try a gloomy interaction on Kassam to see if they’d bond over the shared trait, but she just made Kassam sad and it hurt their friendship bar. Kassam tried flirting with her and it didn’t spark anything, but it didn’t hurt either. Reese got to her with a sexy pose, and Tim did with a flirtatious joke. They had identical love bars, so she stood next to Tim who had a higher friendship bar.

Finally, Priya came out. Reese, Camilo, and Levi ALL asked her risqué questions, which she did not appreciate. (What the hell, guys?) Kassam tried to flirt with her, still sad, and failed. Tim complimented her appearance, and didn’t offend her, but they didn’t connect either. She had the highest friendship bar with Tim, so she stepped next to him in place of Lottie, who repositioned herself next to Reese, her second choice.

Suddenly, a sixth girl appeared. It was Blake. Kassam gave her his earbuds because he was still too sad to flirt effectively, but she didn’t like them. She gave him a rose in return, but he didn’t like it. Both interactions lost heart points. Levi did a sexy pose for her, and she flirted back without command. They connected. They wanted to keep talking, but she moved down the line. Eventually she came back to him, leaving Lily on her own. I turned on full autonomy as soon as they finished coupling. It was 7am. We had started at 11am the day previous. Oy.

What Makes a Good Farming Sim?

This game has really grabbed my attention recently. And I'm going to use this blog as a way to hopefully understand why. Mostly I'm going to also pull some screenshots from Moonstone Island, a game I thought I would love but can't seem to come back to. Then I want to compare to see why this one has delighted me so, but the other fell short.

In my opinion, every little nook and cranny of this game is so charming. Even down to the quest title names. Look at that. How cute. Every part of the gameplay loop makes me want to keep coming back to see more of the wonderful world.

Relatable characters, both in terms of being too grumpy to have friends and worrying about your brother so you try to improve his life behind his back. I just can't help but root for these characters and want to bring their town back to what it was before the disaster.

Especially Dozy. I would, should, and will die for this adorable baby.

why I'm playing farming sims: farming, taking care of animals, decorating my house, romancing npcs.

why some developers think I play farming games: mining and combat during mining.

so far the ONLY game that made it right was Wylde Flowers. no combat whatsoever, only gems and resources! easy fishing with no annoying mini games so you can't miss! cool controls on just a mouse if you need that sort of thing (so both actions and walking can be used with just a mouse, no keyboard involved.) you can romance a werewolf. the crops don't wither because you need to change the season manually via magic so do whatever. you can easily summon a rainstorm and it doesn't cost a ridiculous amount of resources! the devs are still upgrading/supporting the game and recently added an ability to change your appearance (or is it only haircut? haven't tried it yet.) The only problem is that it couldn't keep me entertained as soon as I finished the main plot. You can make the robots do all the chores for you, so you run out of things to do and the romance isn't going anywhere once you're married.

Coral Island came close to WF, but the combat and the controls and the grind to progress in combat and mining are 😡😡😡. Not to mention they literally released the game out of early access without FIFNISHING THE MAIN DAMN PLOT. As of May 2024, the game should be in Early access still. The romance and the dialogues are full of typos and it's shallow af. I had to restart my game from scratch and lose all my resources and progress despite the devs promising that we get to keep our money only to learn that they still haven't done even half of things they promised they would. At the same time they asked the players for free promo for the game and, honestly, I'm incredibly frustrated with the devs. I like it more than SV for many reasons, but honestly, UGH! The game has tons of romanceable options and cool npcs, but it doesn't feel like romance and marriage seems to be pointless and disappointing since your spouse seems to be avoidant of you? And there's no that extra love like in SV?

I'm still giving a side eye to Stardew Valley because for some reason they couldn't make the controls on a mouse only and now everyone copies that? Again, Wylde Flowers saw SV, added magic, and made it better in many ways.

And now I'm really liking Fae Farm because the customization seems to be great, so is the farming, but the combat seems to be TERRIBLE. I haven't reached it yet & I'm not happy about what I'm hearing. Also, the romance is lacking (like 6 ppl out of the entire city? It doesn't have any depth either? Mehh)

When Captain Duath was exploring the island, he saw Ji Ho's dead mother! ö.Ö' She had this exclamation mark over her head, which I've never seen before. Mouseover said, she's a master crafter or sth like that. I forgot ^^' I googled, she's the premade Tina Tinker from evergreen harbor, and master crafter is her NPC role\trait with which she can inspire craft reicipes in your sim. ok.... Weird that she hasn't had that when we met her before.

TMI: We turned her stepdaughter, Olive, into a toddler and she played Ji Ho's brother and toddler Jack.

The weird options Sai had for her... 'Confront about wrongdoings'(!) and 'Ask nicely to leave'. I don't think they've ever met. Strange. (Ofc she isn't really dead. She's still in the same safe since we have a few episodes from the past with her from time to time and she's the only other mermaid beside Ji Ho and his grandfather in my game, so we need her sometimes for some stunts, like drowning Ji Ho when he tried to pull Vlad out of hell. And sometimes we meet her out of the blue. Like in Mount Komorebi here and here. I always take it as a bad omen o.o)
