Author's note: this is my first time posting on tumblr and I'm still getting the hang of it. So bear with me if this post isn't very organized. If you can, I'd like constructive criticism and suggestions.

ps: i don't own the art above (or any pictures on this post). i tried looking for the artist but couldn't find them. if you know them, please comment it below. thanks

Akaza strikes me as a self-assured and unconventional kind of person. He's someone who doesn't give a shit what people think about him and likes to do things at his own convenience.

He often throws a skeptical yet almost concerned look at the things people do that society tags normal. Like gossiping, drinking your life away, or even telling lies about their status just to look and feel better about themselves.

His most prominent behavior being how he respects the opposite gender and feels the urge to knock some sense into any guy who disrespects them.

His eyes:

I think Akaza would find wearing contacts a hassle so his amber eyes would definitely be real and of course, mesmerizing. It's his eyes that draws people's attention towards him. his eyes make him look ethereal and almost unreal, especially when he's under the sun, they start to glow like orbs.

Rides a bike:

Akaza likes his lifestyle interesting and easy. and a bike definitely has the qualities. the overwhelming sense of freedom when he speeds on the lane never gets old for him.

Dyes his hair

Surely someone can't be born with pink hair in real life. He would definitely have to dye it, probably every week to keep it glowing and from fading off. It gotto a point where he doesn't even need to go to a salon. He just does it himself. although he leaves the place a mess when his done..

Footwear

i don't know why but I can just picture him wearing something like this...to work even.

A cat person

Akaza would be a cat person, since he looks like a cat himself. and i think he'd prefer black cats; they just give this eerie and mysterious vibe. He'd be the kind of person that likes to take pictures of his cat perched on his broad shoulder.

Casual outfits:

Akaza is the type of person who likes to wear anything casual and comfortable. doesn't like ties coz they make him feel like he's being strangled somehow. he finds it frustrating whenever he has an occasion coming up and he has to pick something professional to wear. 5 times out of ten, he just gives up and doesn't go since it's such an inconvenience.

Gym:

Akaza loves the gym and the thought of getting stronger everyday. but going all the way to the gym seems like a hassle for him, so he just sets up a small gym at home. he does this mostly because he doesn't like the amount of attention he gets at the gym, his pink hair and slightly-glowing amber eyes make him stick out like a sore thumb. And as if that isn't enough, there were times when he'd be trying to work out and a random girl would ask him to spot them on the bench press. Even though there were obviously other guys around who weren't that busy.

So yeah... a public gym wasn't his thing

Ps: he'd probably use pink mascara on his lashes or something, i dunno.

One of the most tragic things about demons in KNY is that they’re explicitly bastardizations of their human selves, twisted or malformed into something actively malicious.

Akaza, for example, originally sought strength as a way to provide and protect for his loved ones;

His father, and Koyuki.

He hates the weak because — to him — the weak are the kind who don’t confront you head on and use underhanded tactics. They’re ugly, they lack forbearance, and give into desperation too easily;

They give into the voices in their heads that say they have to hurt others to appease themselves.

This includes the men who laughed at or scorned his ailing father, the members of the dojo who poisoned the well, and the version of himself who killed 67 people for it. Who bloodied his master’s beloved martial arts and the very memory of his father, Keizo, and Koyuki. He wanted to become strong to outgrow that kind of weakness, and he forgot that when he became a demon. His goal became an obsession with strength just for the sake of it, rather than to provide and protect.

This, I believe, is the reason why he offers demonization to — at the very least — people like Rengoku and Giyuu. A part of him recognizes a similar motivation in them, and (because the demon half of him believes his current self to be the culmination of his efforts) he offers them his supposed salvation. A way to continue seeking power far beyond what a human can manage.

His goal survives where his accessible memory died with his corruption;

He subconsciously incorporated his loved ones into his very being as a demon.

A thing that remains consistent across the demons in KNY, with the hand demon and his memory of running home while holding his brother’s hand, the temari demon and her desire to play, and so on so forth. It’s horribly tragic.

But the part that stands out to me is the fact that this seems to apply to Muzan Kibutsuji too, because his desire to live past his disease when he was human manifested into an obsession with immortality as a demon. It didn’t matter that he was healthier than he’d ever been, the sun could still harm him and so he wasn’t perfect just yet. That’s why he searched so desperately for a demon who would either survive the sun or could become a part of the twelve waxing or waning moons who would protect him while he looked.

Fascinatingly, both he and Upper Moon One (Kokushibo) overlook the immortality of the memento mori philosophy. They focused on how they specifically could live on, forgetting that their knowledge and their history could be passed down and used or remembered by the people after them. Maybe that’s why they hated Yorichii so much — because he looked at the future where he would be forgotten and thought that he would love nothing more then to be a simple footnote in this long, arduous journey to their victory.

The Ubayashiki and many of the demon slayers in between felt similarly, giving their lives for the cause and knowing that someone else would one day do what they sought to do… that the world would eventually heal from demons altogether.

Thinking about Characters who are meant to be dangerous, Dottore, the harbingers in general, kokushibo, Uppermoons and such. Dangerous and evil beings they are considered with a lover like Columbina in the most recent hoyofair. Just so ethereal yet so fucking eerie and creepy, there's just something so.. Off about them that you can't quite grasp but all you know is you should RUN. Just evil characters with a lover who's probably the same or worse than them.

Likt the reader seems to know too much. They let things slip they shouldn't know or things not even the characters know, like reader casually mentions something that Archons didn't know and then just laughs creepily when asked about what they said

Imagine this with obey me cast, their innocent human isn't so innocent hm? The look and realisation of it all is just 😍

Especially in like SAGAU, all loving creator? Nah get whatever this is. A ethereal yet eerie creator who is just.. Yes.

lmao uhm. if akaza failed to kill kyojuro (the sun said peekaboo), and muzan was angry. so. so akaza kidnapped senjuro to lure kyojuro in just for the fun of it. like:

"desperation looks good on you," akaza drawled, his grin widening as he let a hand crawl over senjuro's neck, holding it gently. humans were fragile, in both body and mind. he couldn't hurt senjuro yet, else he risked kyojuro snapping too quickly. and this time, there would be no sun to disrupt their conversation. he'd deliberately dragged senjuro somewhere where light wouldn't hit. kyojuro was stuck. and they had all the time in the world.

"what do you want," kyojuro demanded, his jaw clenching.

though they had barely met recently, akaza could tell that the utter fury was something reserved just for akaza. it was unnatural for kyojuro, and it showed. but he did his best to express it. it was adorable.

pretending to think, akaza glanced down at senjuro. the round, owl-like eyes were so much like kyojuro's. except they glinted with tears, his breathing shuddering with fear. akaza didn't care to suppress the smirk that spread across his face.

he put out his previous offer. as a friendly invite. "why don't you become a demon, kyojuro?" akaza hummed. the way kyojuro instantly tensed was riveting. he pressed on. "if you do, i'll let otōto go, hm? he's adorable, don't you think? it'd be a shame if he was... crushed to an unrecognizable state."

senjuro's body jerked involuntarily at that, the threat causing him to inhale sharply. tears ran freely down his face, yet he mustered a squeaky, "no- aniue-"

akaza smiled. "why, aren't you a brave one," he said, patting senjuro's hair. it was uncannily like kyojuro's, actually. he wondered whether, if senjuro grew up, would he look exactly like current kyojuro? or would he hold those boyish features and the evident innocence in the way he trembled?

"i will not become a demon." kyojuro was annoyingly set on his decision. "if you hand me senjuro back, we can fight. but leave him out of this."

"ah... tempting. but i can't say i'll do it," akaza said, frowning slightly. "i pity you. trying to negotiate your way out. it would be much easier as a demon."

"i will not become a demon!" kyojuro repeated. he was determined, akaza could give him that. admirable, but futile.

akaza clicked his tongue in disappointment. "awh, don't be like that," he chided. then, slowly, he let his hold on senjuro's neck tighten. the boy choked immediately, evidently quite sensitive. akaza kept his gaze on kyojuro, admiring the way the man clearly itched to lunge forward. "would you like to say goodbye to aniue?"

shipping renkaza fucking sucks because you either get people who hate real enemies to lovers and call it toxic or pr*ship because they actually are enemies who want to kill each other instead of friends who bicker sometimes (these people are the weakest link and will not survive the winter)

or you get people who do ship it but only in the gooner dumbing-it-down-to-hardcore-porn way where they romanticize and get off to abuse and r*pe (these people are just gross sick individuals and i hope they go extinct)

and the few people who do see the emotional depth in the homoerotic minutes renkaza spent together and the potential in that for top tier doomed yaoi are few and far in between and i rarely find good fics that aren't just insanely ooc porn
