shipping renkaza fucking sucks because you either get people who hate real enemies to lovers and call it toxic or pr*ship because they actually are enemies who want to kill each other instead of friends who bicker sometimes (these people are the weakest link and will not survive the winter)
or you get people who do ship it but only in the gooner dumbing-it-down-to-hardcore-porn way where they romanticize and get off to abuse and r*pe (these people are just gross sick individuals and i hope they go extinct)
and the few people who do see the emotional depth in the homoerotic minutes renkaza spent together and the potential in that for top tier doomed yaoi are few and far in between and i rarely find good fics that aren't just insanely ooc porn

I make four Milf Models on the list (and a Fifth on in Shiranui) and then I go and find Six more 'Mature' Gems! Dammit...
Anyways let me introduce the Six new candidates.
1.) Cattleya (Queen's Blade)
Tumblr media
Not gonna like, I know noithing besides that she has huge tits, glasses and is a blacksmith with hella muscle... That is more then enough! I would make her son and Jaune friends, and Cattleya is the only woman the Arc trust to forge their weapons and upkeep them. Her son Rana is one of the only people Jaune trust around his sisters.
2.) Kie Kamado (Demon Slayer)
Tumblr media
So truth be told, I have not watched Demon Slayer... And this woman and her four dead kids are why! Like THE FUQ!? Jesus man this crap broke my heart, I... I just moved right along to happy anime cuz that shit makes me sad as fuck... So yeah they would live in Ansel, and she would be Juniper's best friend and one of the very few women he can understand the sheer difficulties of raising a small team of children. But worst, because she has to do it alone... Then Grimm attack, and while everyone else is trying to protect their own. Little Jaune rushes to help his best friend Tanjiro and his siblings! Auraless and with only his families sword in hand that he can barely wield the two boys actually manage to kill a Beowulf and proceed to get them to the safety of the Arc House.
3.) Shizu Shinazugawa (Demon Slayer)
Tumblr media
DUDE WHAT THE FUCK!!! Seriously this woman somehow had a worst death then Kie! SHE ATE HER KIDS!!! WHAT IN THE FUCKING HELL!!! OH! AND LETS NOT FORGET THAT SHE WAS GETTEN BEATEN BY HER HUSBAND!!! God Dammit, at this point I'm starting to think it's a good thing pig boy was raised by boars. If his mom had been with him instead of abandoning him in thew woods (I assume) she'd probably be dead too! Much less lightening whiney bitch I swear don't give him a tragic backstory too! I do not want to like him... As for shizu, Imma play the Cardin card, and say the two older brothers are bullies in Ansel. Lashing out at others because of their abusive father and of course Jaune is a very ripe target, the envy of the pair because of his kind strong father. Jaune is mad, but after talking to his sisters he decides to invite the boys over to dinner, and try to be friends, after all like his mom says, friends are just strangers you haven't met yet. And besides... Their like him and Tanjiro, he heard they have a lot of siblings too. They should make a club together! It is as little Jaune is having these thoughts that he stumbles upon it... then father beating them, them and their poor mom! And much like with the Ursa Jaune rushes in. And gets beaten within a inch of his life, but doesn't stop, grabbing forks, spoons anything he can get his hands on... Telling them to run, to get his dad. Papa Arc does come forward and what he finds is his son, bloody, beaten barely able to stand, but standing he is, and protecting the poor lady with a broken leg from her evil husband... And then the man is gone, his head taken, the Arc Patriarch not hesitating for even a second.
4.) Ruka Rengoku (Demon Slayer)
Tumblr media
'It is the obligation of those born strong to defend the weak. Don't ever forget that..'
That Fucking Line! That Fucking Line Right There Makes Her Hotter Then The Other Two! Oh and what do you know, another piece of shit husband!
Okay, so I get he only turned piece of shit cuz she died bu-NO! You Know what, Fuck that Your Son Died Cuz You Couldn't Step Up And Live Up To Your Wives Words! Fuck You!!! That Drunk Bastard Insulted her memory and made her have to suffer meeting her son FAR TOO EARLY!!!
There is no way this woman doesn't hate her husband from beyond the grave! So here what would happen, Shinjuro would snap earlier then like when his wife is first diagnosed with the disease. At first he tries to stay strong but then begins to drink, then gets pissed when told nothing can be done!
And then in his denial he tries to force them to leave to Atlas, to hopefully find a cure or way to treat her... But Ruka refuses, Ansel needs them, negativity has been on the rise and Grimm have shown up more often. So he begins to drink and rant, and rave and Ruka watches her husband betray both himself and her faith in him.
And then he leaves, taking her with him one night, in desperation kidnapping his own wife against her will, her body far too weak to resist to take her to Atlas forcibly if needed. He uses a favor Papa and Mama Arc owe him to watch his kids while he's gone (Lying and saying he convinced Ruka)
And it is as he was gone that Ansel was attacked, his sons forced to fight, children like them, Jaune, little Tanjiro and the Shinazugawa brothers barely managing to take his place, but not without injury.
When he returns, he isn't met with scorn, nor blame... Not from anyone, except his wife! Ruka will not forgive him, and would rather die alone then married to him... He leaves, bitter angry but knowing she was right. And it was as this was happening that her son brings Jaune to her, the boy noticing several cuts and bruises she'd received from her forceful travels... He reaches out, and uses the power he discovered while the held off the Grimm.
The power that let mere kids like them fight and barely make up the difference her Ex-Husbands absence... His Semblance, Aura Amplification, every doctor had told her her disease wasn't treatable because her body simply lacked the strength to fight it, her immune system was too too compromised and her body too fragile by that point to maintain.
But Jaune's power, it's strength was one of a nature to empower others, to share with them his strength, his vigor, his will and soul, and Jaune wouldn't stop sharing his strength until it was enough to save her!
It was the logic of a simply youth, if he could kill monsters as big as Grimm, he refused to let small ones so tiny and weak take one of his friends moms! The same woman who told him he could be a huntsman! No! That said it was his duty to be one! Well What Kinda Huntsman Couldn't Save a mother!
5.) Rinko Iori (Gundam... Apparently -///-)
Tumblr media
I...I did not know she was from a anime... I firmly thought she was a hentai mom... But no, apparently she is from Gundam. Well, I think I've said enough and these pictures hopefully speak for themselves...
I'd say she is a Argus mom, and helped Saphron and Terra navigate raising their first kid.
6.) Mirelia Q Melromarc
Tumblr media
She Is A Queen! (Literally!) but no... Like seriously she is best girl, she showed up and everything, oh everything just turned pure euphoria for me. And God Damn She hated her husband! I wish they went more in on how thoroughly pissed she was in the anime like they did in the light novel.
Seriously a fucked up daughter and husband... just... Fuck man, and seriously FUCK BITCH For What She did! (If you read the Web Novel you know what I'm talking about) And fuck Trash too! Y'know it was so he could have a redemption Arc.
Fuck that, as far as I'm concerned those two need death like I need air. Naofumi is her (Only) daughter's fiancée. Which means she's in need of a new consort, a noble, strong, kind one who has a sharp wit.

Note
Hi, I would like to order with Yandere Shinobu, Tomioka, Muichiro and Kyojuro with a sweetheart who doesn't already have a balanced meal. Like she only eats sweets like cakes, ice cream, chocolates instead of eat properly. An L-type reader of Death Note, except that she is somewhat intelligent and sleep-disordered. Hey I would like to know how they would react to this situation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: yandere behavior and slight spoilers for Muichiro's part.
A/N: Hope you enjoy :]!
Tumblr media
Shinobu Kocho:
A smile that slowly dissipates when you tell her. What on god’s earth did you just say?
“Dear, that’s not very healthy, now is it? We need you to eat properly. Let’s go order noodles, hm?”
She gets very concerned. As much as she knows sweets are very addictive and quite nice, Shinobu hates seeing you not get all your nutrition and take care of yourself. That being said, she will force you to eat.
If you throw a fit or roll your eyes, she will keep her smile but threaten to dose you with some type of medication that will make you listen to her. She will treat you like a child, babbling about how sweets are bad for your health and how you shouldn’t eat a bunch.
When arriving, she allows you to get everything you want; except for treats of any kind. She expects you to at least finish the whole meal, if not half of it. Afterward, she will pat your head and congratulate you; maybe offering to get you a soft drink.
While she does worry, she will allow you to eat small portions of sweets. Only if you agree to eat the healthy food she gives you!
From now on, she’s expecting you to eat properly. If she catches you eating some when you’re not supposed to, she will get very upset and discipline you.
However, when she finds out you don’t have a proper sleep schedule, she gets very upset; slightly more than the food issue. Immediately, she diagnoses you with insomnia and gets you sleeping meds. She may or may not force you to take naps in the butterfly Estate during the longer days, making sure to drape her Haori over you.
Tumblr media
Muichiro Tokito:
His eyes darken, quite upset at the fact you don’t take care of himself. At best, he gets extremely serious and almost yells at you.
“You need to eat. I like candies too but I don’t sabotage my health. C’mon, we’re gonna eat and order lots of it.”
While he pulls you along, he orders you what you like and sits in front of you, slurping noodles while waiting for you to eat. He talks to you, trying to distract you from your ‘cravings’ and offers some of his food.
If you throw a fit or simply refuse, he will result in guilt-tripping; making you feel bad. He will talk about his family, how his parents and brother were brutally killed; his almost dying from not eating well. How you are not eating properly hurts him, and he doesn’t want you to die or get hurt.
He may even talk about how if you don’t eat, he will force Shinbou to feed you through a feeding tube; he has a serious look too when speaking about it.
However, the minute Muichiro finds out you don’t get enough sleep, he’s a bit aloof. Ultimately, he will offer for you to lay on his lap as he plays with your hair. Maybe offering you food before poking your cheeks.
Although, in the future, he will make sure to check up on you more frequently; dragging you along towards his favorite sun spot as he makes you lay on his lap, watching the clouds and birds above.
Tumblr media
Kyojuro Rengoku:
Also loves sweets but is very concerned! His smile stays on his face but his eyes tell a different story.
“Ha! Sweets are amazing! But you should eat fried fish instead of cake! Let’s go eat!”
Rengoku will practically eat anything, so the minute the two of you arrive at the restaurant, he’s chowing down on everything and encouraging you to eat. Specifically loudly at you.
Much like the others, if you decide to refuse, he will react negatively.
He will take the forcible lane (even though he doesn’t want to!) and pressure you into eating, practically bringing his chopsticks up to your lips until you eat it. Then he does it again. And again. And again till you say you’re full.
However, the minute you say you don’t usually get a good night’s sleep is when he spits out tea; frankly looking at you like you just called an animal ugly.
From then on, he makes scheduled nap times during the day so the two of you can rest! He’s your heater so you would be pretty warm. Plus, if naps don’t work, he can result in doing training sessions, small runs across the courtyard or simply letting him talk your ear off.
Tumblr media
Giyuu Tomioka:
Doesn’t understand how you can like sweets. He’s not a fan of them, but he’s quite worried about your physical health. Like how are you alive?
“Love, that’s not very healthy. How much do you eat? We’re gonna go to the Yatai down the street and order as much as you want. Okay?”
Once arriving, he makes sure you get a big portion of food; a bunch of side dishes as well as some hot tea.
Just like Rengoku, if you decide not to eat and beg for more sweets, he will pressure you into eating. Pressuring you to open your mouth, needing you to eat the fried shrimp he’s giving you. He will even share his portion of food if it makes you eat.
Although, you make his heart shatter even more when he finds out how sleep-disordering you are! Just how much sleep do you normally get?
Giyuu will immediately offer to sleep on him, or rather take short naps during the day; not only will it help you but it’ll make him feel comfortable being around you more.
While he’s not the warmest, he will keep his haori over you and make sure no one disturbs the two of you; plus, he made sure to pack you some lunch so you can eat afterward. And yes, he did pack a small candy bar as a reward after you eat the food.

Dream Analysis of Mugen Ressha
Spoilers for the movie, while it does not depart from the plot of the manga, they made adaptational choices which I may refer to within.
While Enmu has control over what kind of dream his victims see, ultimately, he would have no way of knowing all of the details of his victims' lives, so we can assume that he is prompting his victims to fill in a lot of the details themselves. These are the worlds they surround themselves with consciously, but their untouchable unconscious spaces say just as much.
I've said some of this before, but these dream sequences give us so much to say about Inosuke, Zenitsu, Kyojuro, and Tanjiro.
Into the dream: Did that "Rengoku-aniki" thing really happen???? It's animated like a fever dream (or drawn like a typical Gotouge-being-Gotouge panel), but both the movie and the manga leave this inconclusive. It can be interpreted two ways: 1. The two other demons were there all along as decoys, set to appear only when Enmu's blood technique slowly started to take effect so that they'd let their guard down. In this way, we'd know that the boys had a true way of witnessing Kyojuro's prowess and a true bonding moment, thereby making his death hit all the harder later. This would also mean that one of the cars was totally unusable for passengers, and many of the passengers were already thoroughly spooked before falling into sleep. It would also imply that they were all super excited, thoroughly relieved, returned to their seats, and then just passed out.
2. The moment the tickets were clipped, Enmu's very, very, very realistic dreams took immediate effect, but he still needed time before it took effect enough that their guards would go down. If this is the case, then it implies the following: 1. Enmu's illusions can be shared 2. Everyone syncs extremely well together to have all been sucked in by the same illusion (it's possible it was only Tanjiro's, but since we get in everyone's heads a little in this part, I believe they all experienced the same thing). Reacting in ways so true to how they would in waking like, they learned as much about each other as truthfully as they would have if they were fighting while awake. 3. The "Rengoku-aniki" thing is the moment they're falling into a deeper stage of sleep, when any bizarre thing will make sense. They've lost any sense of holding back and are embracing the emotions as they hit them. Even if that was all a dream, the bond formed was very real. But then, as they fall deep, they fall into their own headspaces. Inosuke: I love how bombastic this dream is. It moves at a very fast pace, and everything revolves around Inosuke. He is physically much larger than Ponjiro, Chuuitsu, and Pyonko, who clearly follow him as their leader, the most powerful person in this cave exploring world full of wonder and excitement. True to life, these underlings can at times be frustrating or stupid, but there is no one else Inosuke would rather have at his side to take on a hugely impressive foe. It's a relatively simplistic world, what Inosuke really cares about is his place in it, and who is there.
Taking it a step deeper, he should not be able to manifest in his self-conscious space, but Gotouge attributes his and Zenitsu's ability to do this and protect their cores from intruders to their strong senses of self. What's telling is that his subconscious space is practically identical to his conscious dream space; like there is no breakage between one stage of reality and the next. In its Zen-like simplicity Inosuke's mind is never at odds with itself, its interpretation of reality is fluid and seamless. However, being at this deeper state brings us to a deeper state of self actualization, with Inosuke manifesting closer to the ideal beast he views himself as.
Now, with Inosuke being so fully invested in what he sees as reality, he's still got a carry-over effect from dream after waking up, which one could interpret as not having fully shaken the effects of Enmu's blood technique. After all, Zenitsu simply never broke out of it, Tanjiro had to kill himself in his dreams each time to fully snap out of it, and Kyojuro was the only one powerful enough to have broken through its effects through his own willpower. When Tanjiro says the train is a demon, he buzzes with "I was right!" (a conviction that only got stronger in his dream), and Inosuke's declarations of being the boss and Tanjiro being his underling are indignantly plentiful and he fully believes what he is saying every time he brings it up, even if he's aware that he's no longer in the cave exploring dream. But, given that Inosuke is so at peace with his own version of reality, it's also just as likely that his conviction of being The Boss was also only compounded by the dream, and all that dream did was give him a more fun setting in which to play around in. But, what was so fun about the dream, what made him sleep-giggle with pleasure, was that everyone else was finally getting with the program and recognizing him as the boss, as they should. Finally. It's so frustrating in real life that he has to keep reminding them to get it right. Get it, Santaro?? GOOD. Zenitsu: What I love here is the contrast between subconscious and conscious space. Both of them have the same theme melody, but played in very, very different ways. They also both play with the same core desire in very different ways as well. Is it so much to ask that he can just spend some time alone with the girl he loves?? If we jump straight to the pitch black unconscious space, he specifies to the intruder that only Nezuko is allowed there. Not just girls in general, not a close friend like Tanjiro, only the one girl he loves, and even then, you'd have to love someone a lot to invite them into the deepest, darkest corners of your soul. And it is a very, very, very, very dark corner. Zenitsu's spent most of his life building that dark, pessimistic personality, compounded by the treatment he's always received throughout his life and what he believes about himself at his core. He's ugly and depraved there, and very defensive. Because he holds himself in such darkness, that makes him desire the bright, happy, completely idealistic world of his conscious dream world. It's rich with detail and warm and he knows it well, that places is the first place he ever felt someone have hope for him; it's Jiichan's home, that sunny place with delicious peaches and full of clovers and lush greenery and a charming stream. Of course he'd want to show it all to Nezuko, she deserves to see such a happy, pretty place! And, while the world is idealized and happy, Nezuko is e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y cute and actually wants to hang out with him too. She's willing no hold his hand, none of the girls who dated (read: used) Zenitsu in the past were ever willing to hold his hand. He even gets to show her that he can be cool, and she likes it!! She looks him in the eyes and is totally honest about enjoying his company!!
He just wants someone to want him back. He wants to belong in the sunshine too. So, even if he had it in him to wake up from Enmu's blood technique, who can blame him for staying there? (You know, besides Tanjiro, who has been desperately screaming for them all to wake up and help him protect the passengers. Zzzzz, five more minutes, Tanjiro, zzzzzzz----) Kyojuro: This... isn't really a happy dream. Kyojuro has accepted a lot of sad parts of his reality so wholeheartedly that he doesn't seek the comfort of a dream in which his mother is still alive, or a dream in which his father is proud of him. Instead, what Kyojuro was looking for was the chance to go back and say more to Senjuro. This implies that on the real day he knelt in that room, while his father faced away and read the book* while Kyojuro told him all about how he defeated Lower Moon Two and became a Pillar, and was met with his father's heartbreakingly unenthusiastic reply, he later went outside and...
...didn't say any words of comfort to Senjuro.
This regret, that he didn't do more for his brother whom he knew was hurting in his own silent ways this whole time, was what sat most bothersomely in Kyojuro's otherwise peacefully self-assured psyche (or fired-up psyche, if you go by his subconscious space) . It makes sense that in his dying wishes, the first thing he requests is that Tanjiro do this in his stead. *Speaking of that book, Kyojuro had forgotten about it until his memories pulled together to create the details of the dream, which was why he thought to mention it to Tanjiro later. This shows that Enmu is not an architect of people's dreams, he only sets them in motion. How believable they are depends on each victim. (Totally unrelated, I love the design of the Rengoku estate's garden??? It's primarily evergreen and unflowering trees, meaning it stays relatively steadfast throughout the year, a garden designed in samurai villa taste. Plus the details of the house also fit really well, I think??? Would need to review research of buke-yashiki architecture to say more.) Tanjiro: ...*deep breath* This boy really, really wants to go home. Like, the climax of the movie is amazing and all, but it's the scenes with Tanjiro's family that make me cry. Ugh, where do I start. Enmu probably just grabs on to whatever thread of a desire a person has, and then he just tugs on it and says "this way, let's go really far in this direction, show me where it goes, hmm, okay, nice, lovely. Have fun here, I've now seen enough to write my own angsty version for later." So... so I'm just going to work backwards a moment. Enmu screwed up here, thinking he could really read the depth of Tanjiro's family and his feelings for them. He thought he could make a convincing version of these "characters" cry and shove Tanjiro around and speak meanly to him and make him feel shame. And the cut to that dream, OH MY GOSH, truly horrific sound and color change. But Tanjiro's sees through it so fast that he wakes up immediately and uses that anger at how Enmu wrote them to cut off his "head." You screwed up, Enmu, you blew it, maybe other people would very so blown down by the shock that they wouldn't question how unreal that dream sequence is, but Tanjiro has honed his fighting spirit so much that it's been nagging him even throughout his happy dream. And he really, really, really wants to stay in that happy dream. Like, even though he's on guard at the beginning, so much so that he only focuses on the familiar feeling of a demon being around and does not notice the familiar landscape AT ALL. But the moment Hanako and Shigeru step in, convincingly made from Tanjiro's memories and unedited by Enmu, Tanjiro throws that all away in an instant. As he says when he's trying, after trying and trying and trying to rip himself away from the dream, he was never even supposed to had left this world. He was never supposed to had touched anything like a sword, they were all supposed to stay there together, living their simple life. If things hadn't gone wrong that one night. Tanjiro cares deeply about his mission, he's adopted his training deeply, he has serious desire to improve, which is why his subconsciously keeps trying to call himself back to reality, but it's so hard, because this is where he wants to be, and it's even harder because it feels so real. It's a little peeve of mine when families with lots of little siblings are written to be too angelic and idealistic, and there is some of that with the "let's make sembei, yaaaay" scene, but... but that's actually pretty true. I'm giving myself away with how close this hits to home, but it's a dynamic in a lot of large families, especially large families pretty happy to stay to themselves and people who live the same sort of conservative, traditional lifestyle, to foster in the older siblings some pride in taking care of the little ones and helping create that happy world for them, even if taking care of little kids can be rough. It's not to say that things are always happy and fluffy, they're not, and that's not to say even
happy kids don't resent being in a large family sometimes. But there's plenty of moments in daily life, especially in the presence of small children, that you get swept up into a sillier, happy, caretaker side of yourself, and since you all grow up with these silly moments together, you're going to naturally fall into into some silly, scripted-feeling moments of "then I'll be in charge of eating the sembei!" "no faaaaair!". So, I'll give the sembei scene a pass because that IS a moment that happens in years of moments with the same posse of kiddos around you all the time. But it's also so striking to me how each of Tanjiro's siblings, however idealized, has their own personality. The traits are so subtle but consistent and Tanjiro knows all of them. They pick up on things about each other, they grow realistically annoyed and surprised and concerned and scared like they would if they were real instead of only Tanjiro's memories of them. Those kids feel so real to me, even if they are annoyingly overidealized in some parts as Tanjiro is letting himself get swept away. And just when he's managing to part from it to go face reality, Enmu makes more attack: he brings in Nezuko, trying to make it feel like there's no point in Tanjiro running at all. She's fine. There's nothing left for him to fight for. Everything's fine. And all over again, Tanjiro just stops. He KNOWS it's not real, but he's hurting so much to hear her voice again that he just sto-o-o-o-ps. And his desire to stay with the others catches up to him all over again, and he's tempted all over again to stay, EVEN KNOWING IT'S NOT REAL and there are very, very, very pressing matters to attend to. Even if it was all a little happy and idealized, more than anything, it felt like life always did. It's telling that when Tanjiro finally, FINALLY pulls away from that that time, he doesn't look back, and the family stops chasing him. This is Tanjiro accepting reality, however much it hurts. He's already had a couple years to accept this, but it was all overwhelming to get such a vivid taste of it again.
Tanjiro wants to do well to his organization and honor Urokodaki's training and avenge the fallen and prevent anyone else from being hurt and see an end to Kibutsuji Muzan and make Nezuko human again, but more than anything, he wants that simple life. And it's so, so heartwarming that at the end of the manga, he gets it.
It's not the same. It'll never be the same.
He never wanted a life with a sword, but he's been working so hard at it anyway.

Hi!! Can you do a one shot of kyojuro ending up in our world and meets reader and they become friends and fall in love?
Of course! Thanks for requesting!!! I had a lot of ideas for this one! Thank you!!!!
Not exactly from around here
Tumblr media
Kyojuro smiled as a scroll of parchment was dropped in his hand. Untying and unrolling the paper he looked at the newest target. Looking at the papers he seen a map on the second.
Confused he walked into town, looking around he spotted a shop owner setting up his sweets stand.
"Hello! Hi!" Rengoku called with a smile.
The middle age man smiled turning away from the Hawthorn he was skewing.
"Hey there! The sugars still heating up! But Can I interest you in my special sweet buns! There not typical!"
Rengoku smiled, "I was wondering if you could help me find this place."
The man looked over the stand looking at the map, "hmm...thats the old abonded train station, the tracks are covered in water." The man infromed, "If you want to go there, go down the back alley just down the street, you'll hit a dead end all the way down and take the stairs down, you'll see a fruit stand and turn left going down some more stairs."
"Thank you." Rengoku spoke putting the papers away, then looking at the stand, "how long is that sugar going to take?"
"Hmm? Not to longer more." The man spoke.
"Can I buy..."
Twenty mintues later Rengoku was walking down the second set of stairs with a bag of sweets in his hand and a stick of tanghulu-ed hawthorne in his hand, but before he could enjoy his sweet he past by a child playing by himself- so he was happy to share the Tanghulu with the small boy.
By the time he had made it to the run down station the sun was setting, the water filled the tracks like he was informed and the sitting area once well done was now over run with folliage, vines creating a curtain.
Walking down the colostone path he made it to a small ticket booth, swipping the vines away he seen no one in the ticket booth. Walking away from the ticket booth to look around a bit more he spotted a random mushroom in the middle of the walk way. Curious enough he went over to it- as it suddenly picked itself up and ran off.
Confused Rengoku followed the mushroom as it ran behind the sitting area and back around the far corner. Rengoku followed as he turned the corner. A shadow now in the ticket booth, and the small mushroom running over.
Rengoku followed moving the foliage again seeing the silhouette of what seemed to be a ticket master- the only solid thing was the brooch on the mans hat.
It was silent as the man held up a set of tickets.
"A ticket slip?" Rengoku asked, but got no reply, only a pointed finger at his haori.
Figuring it was the scroll hidden inside he took out the roll and set it on the wood.
The scroll was taken and ripped as it burnt to ashes and in replace Rengoku was given the ticket slip.
Taking it he looked at the slip- he had never heard of any of the stops passed the first three.
Walking over to the now clean sitting area he took a seat, a black cat joining his side as it waited with cat sized bag around its body, some other creatures such as more mushroom people, and flower fairies came to take a look at Rengoku- a human- none the less a demon slayer.
He looked down at the small group and smiled sending them into shock and hiding. He smiled brighter as they came out of hiding slowly- unsure if they'd be scooped up or slashed, but seeing his bright smile they took a seat, bathing in his sun like smile.
Hearing the train coming in he stood up, walking over towards the tracks to realize the water was still present, but filled with small fish and- what he assumed was an eel that pasted by. The colors in the water scattered as the train came in- coming to a slow stop as the doors slid open.
The cat took lead, hoping in as it held its ticket slip in its mouth. Rengoku followed after, still uncertain of what was really happening- but you could say curiosity killed the cat.
Taking a seat on the bench he looked out the window infront of him. Soon a ticket master- no more than the age of tweleve came floating by- two eyes following him as he held out a gloved white hand. Looking at the ticket he handed them to the boy, who took them and shreaded them in his hand processed shredder and moved on. On the first stop- people filed in, a veiled woman sitting next to him with a child in a wooven fruit basket- the child- of course wasn't human, and a male in a kitsune mask infront of him, smoking out of a Kiseru, and beside him sat the cat that minded it own bussniess.
It wasnt till the fourth stop he was left alone- the only residing was the cat. Rengoku looked over and waved smally with a bright smile but the cat never did respond.
Not so long after the same floating boy came back over- pointing to the door as the train came to a stop.
The cat got up as well as Rengoku went over the doors opening as they both walked out. Rengoku watched as the black cat made it own way leaving Rengoku alone in silence. Looking around he found some stairs, traveling up them he came to a back alley, he almost walked into busy foot-traffic, luckily stopping himself in time as he watched people pass by, werid items in there hands, dressed weirdly, some dressed in what seemed to be a uniform.
"You really are a slow one aren't you."
Rengoku looked up seeing the black cat sitting on an on-ing.
"Oh. So you do speak." Rengoku smiled. "I am-"
"Rengoku Koyojuro. I know who you are." The cat spoke, "why are you here?"
"I was sent on an assignment you see!" Kyojuro spoke with a bright smile, "that ticketmaster took my map. But I still have the letter- hey where are we?"
"Modern time- futuristic for you." The cat spoke, "Just do your job and leave. Don't cause a ruckus."
The cat left as Rengoku looked out into the crowd, with a bright smile on his face, and a hop in his stepped out into the crowd, just to be carried away by the crashing wave of people. When he finally got out of the crowd he looked around looking at the letter.
'Find Y/n'
Wss the first thing that stood out to him, he went to the closest person in veiw. A young girl in a school uniform with her friends.
"Excuse me!" Rengoku smiled happily.
The girls looked back at him- immediately flushed at his apperance, "Hi! I was wondering if you could help me find a Y/n?"
"Y-Y-Y/n? Y/n? W-w-what?" One girl spoke a flushing mess as she looked at the young man.
"Hmm..." Rengoku thought looking down at the paper.
"Ah! A Y/n L/n! Or a L/n Y/n! Which ever way sounds familiar would really help!" Rengoku smiled.
"L/n?"
"Ah as in L/n-Sensei!" One girl pipped up.
"The pretty teacher?" Another girl asked.
"Pretty teacher?" Rengoku asked.
One nodded, "She works at the highschool. Shes Mirus home room! Isnt that right Miru-san?!"
"H-huh! Oh...yeah!" She flustered.
"She should still be at the school. She said she had a meeting."
"Where can I find this highschool?"
"Its down that way."
Thanking the young women he left to find this highschool.
Walking along the streets he seen cars and bikes past by- confusing him- but interesting him none the less. Asking for directions once more he had made it to the school, walking through the front gate he stopped hearing windows being opened abruptly.
A young woman stood there, her hair down and relaxed as the breeze blew through it softly. The breeze now dismissed- showed her face, Kyojuro awe strucken by her appearance, she seemed to be the only simple thing in this hetic world he had traveled too- her bright colorful eyes made her stick out- show casing her warm heart and soul as she smiled.
From the corner of her eye she spotted the bright colors of the sun. Turning her head down she looked at the male looking up at her- there bright eyes locking with one another.
It was silent, the breeze coming and going as they stayed awe strucken by one another.
"Can I help you with something sir?"
There it was. Her voice, a love striken arrow piercing Rengoku's heart.
"My name is Rengoku Kyojuro."
His voice sent a warm fuzz to her cheeks.
"I am L/n Y/n."
This was her.
"I. I've heard of you." Rengoku called back, "I was wondering. If you'd like to become friends!"
"A pretty bold move for friendship Mr.Kyojuro!"
Rengoku smiled, "I suppose it is Ms.L/n!"
"we can grab some yakisoba, maybe a beer? Or some sake?"
Rengoku nodded as Y/n smiled, "Give me time to grab my things."
Rengoku patiently waited as the woman soon came down the steps and out the school.
"Its nice to meet you as a whole rather than just your upper half." Rengoku smiled as Y/n chuckled softly.
"So. How about that food?"
That was the start of it, there meeting- they had sat and ate talking along the way, laughing and joking- until Kyojuro brought his reasoning for being where they were.
"A demon train?" Y/n asked.
"It may be hard to believe-"
"It really isn't!" Y/n said, "This is the modern world after all- just if your a supposed demon slayer why didnt you just kill the thing instead of boarding it?"
"I'm still asking myself that question!" He laughed rubbing the back of his neck with a smile.
Y/n ate some rice as he contuied to talk,
He may be hot but kinda childish- or is it dense...
"So whats the plan then? How are you getting back?" Y/n asked.
"Oh." Rengoku spoke.
Well atleast he has a plan
"You see. I don't exactly know!" He finished.
Of course he doesnt have a plan
"Well how about staying at my place until then?" Y/n asked, "I teach mythology and history. So you'll be my living reference in return"
"That sounds great!"
"Well first we should dress you modernly. Im sure the police will arrest you for walking around with a sword." Y/n informed.
"Oh."
Rengoku listened as Y/n informed him on the modern world the two soon returning to her place, he was most interested in the colorized pictures on the wall as she started informing him on where things were.
"Rengoku?"
"Hmm?"
She turned around to see him with a frame in his hand, but he soon set it down.
"Something wrong?"
"No. Nothing at all. I've never seen so many. Who paints them all?" He asked curiously.
"There taken with a camera that links to my printer." Y/n informed.
"Can we take one? You know before we figure out a way for me to get back!" Rengoku asked.
"Yeah I don't see why not." Y/n smiled.
Rengoku smiled as Y/n continued the house tour. The next few days Y/n would help Rengoku get accustomed to modern life, and he'd teach her about his time- simple things she wanted to know really. He accompanied her to school where he sat in the corner in the from of the class- or in the back depending on the time. Most of the highschool girls fauned over him- and maybe even some of the boys.
It was safe to say- Y/n and Rengoku had become friends. Yet that didn't stop Rengoku from wanting to return home. A week into his visit he was still there, and he was missing home none the less.
Y/n frowned seeing Rengoku doodling little images of his old friends and world.
"What do you want for dinner today Rengoku?" Y/n asked.
"I picked yesterday! You can pick today!" He spoke smiling.
"How about pozole?" Y/n asked.
"Is that new?" He asked.
"No." Y/n responed, "it's a hispanic dish. I figured while your hear. Maybe you could try some other cultural food! Fish isnt the only thing out there you know!"
Rengoku smiled softly, "that sounds great then."
Y/n smiled, "how about helping me?"
Rengoku nodded as the two got to work. He had found himself attached- warm hearted next to her. He knew she was going out of her way to not only help him, but try and feel better.
They cooked and cooked, the two laughing along the way as they sat down with there bowls to eat.
Rengoku took a spoonful happily, "It's diffrent. I like it!"
Y/n smiled, "Im glad you like it so much. Now you know how to make it so you can make it whenever!"
He nodded as they contuied to eat, "I was thinking."
Rengoku looked up from his bowl, "maybe we could take the camera out? Go take some pictures together?"
Rengoku nodded with a smile, "I'd enjoy that!"
"Then it settled! We can go out after we eat!"
The dinner was filled with laughter and jokes, dishwashing contained a bubble fight. Ending in the two of them sitting against the counter taking a break. Just for them to get up again and get ready to head out, Y/n with a camera in her hands.
The evening was warm, and happy- a smile not leaving any of there faces. It was mostly goofy pictures of the two of them doing things- just one- as the other one was usually taking the picture.
Y/n intruppted a man for a quick question as he happily agreed, Y/n ran over to Rengoku pulling on the haori he had overlaping his buttonup.
"He's gonna take a picture of us." Y/n said pointing to the man who held the camera.
Rengoku nodded in understanding as the two stood ready bright smiles on there faces as they stood infront of some neosigns.
"There we go!"
"Thanks alot!"
"It was no problem!"
Y/n smiled looking at the photo.
"One more place?" She asked.
Rengoku agreed as she pulled him along, the route soon told him where they were going.
"I figured." Y/n spoke walking down the stairs, "the trainstation of which you magically appeared would be a nice photo right?"
Rengoku nodded, "It would be nice."
Y/n smiled as she found a rock to perch the camera on, "it'll be on a timer so I'll rush over and we can take the picture!"
Rengoku watched as she quickly ran over the two smiling as she held his arm, there fingers interlaced with each others. The photo snapped and Y/n smiled rushing over to get it. Making there way home Rengoku looked at her free hand, hanging by her side as she held the camera in one hand.
Feeling his pinky being taken he looked back down and noticed Y/n wrapped her pinky around his, looking back up at her she walked normally- following in suit he wrapped his pinky around hers.
"Hey Rengoku..."
"Hmm?"
She was silent for a mintue, "nevermind..."
Rengoku frowned as they got home, taking there shoes off, Y/n took her coat off and Rengoku hung his haori up besides it.
"I...Im gonna go print these pictures-"
"Wait a mintue." Rengoku said grabbing her hand, "What. What were you going to say? Before the nevermind. It must've been important."
"No. Nothing." Y/n spoke walking away and to her desk, "We should get these printed."
The mood suddenly changed, it was lighthearted once more as they figured out what pictures to print. Rengoku watched her smile and laugh as he stood over the chair using the back as a leaning support.
"Hey! Thats a good one!" Rengoku pointed out at the picture of Y/n feeding the deer they seen passing a tea garden.
Y/n looked at him, his face now level with hers as he looked at the computer with a smile. Pressing a quick kiss to his cheek he flustered immediately.
They looked at each other, Y/n flushing immediately.
"S-sorry." She apologized.
"You missed." Rengoku told her.
"I-I missed?" Y/n asked as Rengoku pecked her lips softly.
"See I didn't miss." He smiled brightly, "You try again-"
Rengoku was silenced as Y/n kissed him again, this time, the kiss lasted longer than a peck.
Standing up her hands ran through his hair, tilting her head to deepen the kiss. He only responded with his hands on her hips, pushing into the kiss more she stumbled back a bit and bumped into her desk.
Pulling away Rengoku smiled softly as did she, "sorry." He apologized with a light laugh.
She chuckled lightly, her head resting against his, "you...kiss good."
Rengoku flushed softly as Y/n rubbed the back of her head.
"I uh. The printers in my room." She spoke softly rushing off flushed as he followed with a smile.
She looked at the pictures with a smile, as he stood in her doorway, leaning against the frame.
"Hey. Rengoku here are-"
She froze as he was suddenly next to her, a smile as he observed her.
"W-what is it?"
He sighed, tossing his Haori on her bed as he rolled up his sleeves. Gulping unknowing of what was to happen she was suddenly picked up.
"If I want to keep that smile on your face! I suppose I must tickle you!"
"Wait! Rengoku!-"
She was tossed on the bed as he climbed over her. Almost immediately tickling her she cried out in laughter, finishing off his tickling with a kiss to her lips he laid on his side, waiting for her to calm down.
"Want another tickle?"
"No! No. Im okay." She chuckled as he smiled.
Sighing she finally calmed down, the two laying on the bed together in peace, she yawned as he covered them with the white, flamed desgined haori.
"Im glad I found you." Rengoku spoke softly kissing her head as she smiled.
"I love you Ren." She smiled hugging him.
"I love you too N/n."
The two fell asleep in each others embrace, the suns rays of the next day only waking the two up.
Rengoky yawned as he sat up, back pain immense as he covered his eyes from the sun- which was odd as he remembered you only opening your curtains a bit.
"Aniki?"
He looked behind him seeing Tanjiro.
"Ah! Thank god we found you!" Tanjiro sighed in relief.
Tanjiro?
Why was Tanjiro here?
Wait.
Rengoku looked around quickly, "No. No. No. No no. No. No! No!" He cried getting up to his feet.
He had returned to the trainstation that started his journey.
"Y/n!" He called out, maybe you had been brought back with him, "Y/n!"
Tanjiro frowned at Rengoku's sudden burst.
"Hey. Hey! Calm down. Aniki what's wrong? What happened?" Tanjiro attempted to calm, "where did these chlothes come from?"
"No! She was here! She was with me! I-" Rengoku jumbled together.
"Aniki. Please. Take a deep breathe." Tanjiro spoke holding Rengoku's arms, "maybe that will jog your memory?"
Rengoku turned arouned to see his sword on the floor and under it was paper. Rushing over he looked at the papers- photos you had printed and taken for him. Fat tears rolled down his cheeks as Tanjiro comforted him.

Part 1 || Part 2 || Part 4 || Part 5
***
To call the air within the dining room awkward would have been the understatement of the century.
No matter how hard (Y/n) tried to keep herself from fidgeting, she couldn’t help it. Her fingers kept twisting the material of her kimono between them, worrying the cloth so much to the point of wrinkling so much.
All because of those eyes. The same eyes that she felt on her, even though the man next to her kept on idly sipping his tea. They were so unnerving with their intensity, and it wasn’t helping at all that the scene from her dream last night kept playing inside her mind.
(Y/n) had thought that going to the dining area early would get her to avoid any awkward entrances, so she had quickly called one of the maids to help her get ready for the day; even donning one of her nice kimonos— all while outright denying that she was trying to look pretty for her family’s honored guest.
Unfortunately, she hadn’t taken into consideration the possibility that he would be there early, too. So, she had come in to the sight of him already sipping on a cup of tea— looking so relaxed as he had gotten up and shot her such a breathtaking smile, that it took her a few seconds before she could return his bow and greeting.
And that was how she found herself suffering through the awkward silence, which was only filled with the soft sounds of either of them sipping their tea.
It was an entirely different story for their eyes, however; as they would try sneaking covert glances at each other, fortunately looking away before the other could catch them looking.
If Kyōjurō were to be honest, he would say that he found it amusing; and extremely adorable, for his beloved to be acting in such a way, even though they had done much lewder things within the confines of her room.
“Th-thank you…” (Y/n) finally began, after what felt like an eternity to her. She was still the (L/n) family’s only daughter, and thus needed to play the role of a gracious host. But when those eyes turned to look at her face, partnered with such a breathtaking grin, she had to swallow thickly and bite down on her bottom lip.
Because, while Kyōjurō looked so bright and innocent on the outside, she couldn’t help but gravitate towards those eyes of his; radiating so much heat and passion, and promising to do so many sinful things to her.
“For saving my…” She had to pause, as the sight of the Hashira tilting his head slightly— while reaching a hand up to touch her right cheek— was all too much. Her heart began thumping so hard in her chest, that she had actually become afraid that it would jump out and grace them with its presence. “…family.”
Before Kyōjurō could reply, however, the sound of the shoji opening had him dropping his hand before his fingertips could even brush against her skin. He briefly frowned at the missed opportunity, but adopted his signature smile once more when he saw the crestfallen expression on her face.
She had wanted to feel his touch as much as he wanted to touch her. It had his chest tightening with so much emotion— which he could only construe as his immense love for her.
The sound of a throat clearing had both of them looking towards the source of it, and also had them scrambling up to bow at (Y/n)’s father— the head of the (L/n) clan.
Idly, he returned their bows, before holding a bright grin on his face and casually regarding Kyōjurō. “It took me a while to realize it, but you’ve grown so much Kyōjurō-dono. How has your father been?”
(Y/n)’s eyes widened at such a personal question, all while staring blatantly at the blond man standing next to her. And, to her surprise, his grin had briefly turned sharp and dangerous, before tapering down into a jovial one.
In his mind, however, Kyōjurō was grinning so maliciously; because everything was going according to his plan— even (Y/n)’s father falling for the bait.
It was only a matter of time before he could take her with him; all so he could keep her forever.
His father? (Y/n) thought to herself, making an effort to not let her confusion and curiosity show on her face— as it wasn’t befitting of someone of her status to meddle in others’ affairs. Yet, that didn’t mean that she wasn’t dying to know exactly how her father knew Kyōjurō or his father.
“He’s been… well, (L/n)-sama. It really has been a while, but you still look as young as ever.” The blond chuckled at his own flattering words, before casting a covert look at (Y/n)— whom had taken a bit too long to look away from him, thus resulting in her blushing madly while pointedly averting her gaze.
Instead of teasing her, however, his smile tapered down into a fond one— as he sighed and made a show of slowly turning his attention back to the patriarch of the house. It killed him to show such genuinely tender expressions for his beloved in front of others, but it was all necessary to earn the old man’s favor.
At least, for the second time around.
He had already promised (Y/n) to him once, Kyōjurō was sure that if he put his best foot forward, he would have no problems rekindling the engagement that Shinjurō had severed years ago.
***
It wasn’t until that afternoon, however, that (Y/n) had been allowed to shed light on the confusing exchange that had happened between her father and their guest during breakfast. Because really, what made her more curious than the man himself, was the fact that her father knew Kyōjurō’s father— and Kyōjurō himself, based on how casually they had talked to each other throughout the meal.
And if it weren’t for her father inviting him to take a tour of their territory with him— which was obviously a roundabout way of saying that they had to talk about something in private— she would have gathered up the courage to ask him what his relation was to her family.
Which was why she immediately jumped on the opportunity when she saw him sitting by himself out on the engawa that afternoon. It was one of her usual relaxation spots, because of the pretty view of the garden that it afforded her, so she really wasn’t surprised to see that he had chosen that spot as well.
Little did she know that Kyōjurō had been watching her for a long time, which was why he knew that she would go to that very place at the same time.
“H-hi, uh, Rengoku-san,” (Y/n) began shyly, as she took small steps towards the man sat at her usual spot on the lip of the engawa. Making Kyōjurō turn towards her with his usual happy-go-lucky persona: wide, charming grin, head tilted slightly to give off the illusion of innocence, and eyes directly on hers with an earnest look in them.
And gradually, he felt his expression becoming much more genuine with her. Especially when he saw the faint blush on her cheeks, as well as the adorable way that she was nibbling nervously on her bottom lip.
It made him want her so much more than he already did.
“Hello, (L/n)-san,” Kyōjurō answered brightly, not once looking away from (Y/n) as she motioned to the empty space beside him— right next to the tea set that he had next to him. Judging from what she smelled, he was having Jasmine tea; which was a definite favorite of hers. “Would you like to join me?”
“I…” The young woman was taken aback by the sudden question, but she couldn’t deny that his offer made things so much easier for her. That, and she really was curious about him; something along the lines of interest, because really… no woman in their right mind wouldn’t be interested in such a charming man. “I’ll be in your care, then.”
And with those words hanging in the air, (Y/n) sat down next to the Flame Hashira and began twiddling with her dress— more to offset the nervous pattering of her heart than anything else.
No one even said a word for a while, it was just the two of them basking in silence— with Kyōjurō looking over at the garden before turning his attention to her. All the while, she couldn’t even muster up the courage to look at him for more than a few seconds.
He was simply that handsome.
“Would you like some tea?”
The young woman almost jumped at the soft question, but found herself whipping her attention towards the tea set— before looking up into his eyes and nodding abruptly. “Yes, please. If you don’t mind.”
“I don’t mind if it’s you, (L/n)-san,” Kyōjurō whispered, a bit too bashfully than he had intended, but they were words that rang deep and true. After all, he wouldn’t have kept loving her through all those years if he minded it one bit.
(Y/n)’s blush deepened even more at his answer, but she accepted the tea he’d poured into a spare cup as graciously as she could; all while thinking of a way to broach the subject of their families knowing each other to him.
In the end, however, they remained in silence for most of the hours before dinner; only filling them with the occasional comment about the garden, and the few questions that Kyōjurō had asked her; mainly about her interests and such.
Still, it was a nice and relaxing afternoon that she’d spent with him. Not once had she felt awkward with him— despite being shy. And she found herself wanting to get to know him more.
At the very least, spend more time with him.
***
(Y/n) felt hands moving up and down her thighs, gently stirring her awake from her slumber. However, a part of her mind kept telling her that she was still dreaming, because not only did the hands on her body feel like a dream, but the man that hovered above her looked like something that she had conjured from a dream as well.
That, and she was sure that Kyōjurō had already walked back to his room, after he had done the gentlemanly thing and dropped her off at her own quarters after dinner.
He had given her such a warm smile, before bowing so elegantly to dismiss himself. And with those parting words, “I’ll see you tomorrow, then? At breakfast?” she found herself anticipating the next day even more than before.
She had even gone to sleep with the faintest of smiles playing on her lips.
“Wake up, my love,” The young man whispered to her, while leaning down to press a kiss to her cheek— then to her jaw, and her chin, before eventually claiming her own in a sweet and all-consuming way that had her heart racing inside her chest. “I’ll make both of us feel good tonight.”
With that promise hanging in the air, the Flame Hashira pulled away from her and made his way to the edge of the bed; kneeling on the mattress, as a sinful grin tugged up on the corners of his lips.
She didn’t know what the cause of that grin was— at least, not yet, but she would be lying if she said that she wasn’t excited to find out. Especially since she finally had a name to put to the face she had been having recurring ‘dreams’ about.
The knowledge that he was not simply a figment of her imagination— and was someone that had her parents knew enough to welcome into their home— clearly eased her mind, as well as made her welcome his advances all the more. After all, she still thought that she was ‘dreaming’; well within the bounds of her fantasies, so she had a right to finally enjoy what her body had wanted all along.
And that was to give in to him completely.
(Y/n) watched carefully as Kyōjurō propped her legs up, making her eyes widen when she saw that her ankles were bound to a white scabbard— the scabbard of the sword he used. She had been too preoccupied with Kyōjurō’s captivating words, and sweet kisses to have even noticed something so obvious.
Still, despite her cursing herself for having been swept up in his pace, she had to admit that the sight of such an object being used in a lewd way had her pussy becoming wet.
Even more so when the blond began taking off his uniform; all in a fluid and sensual way that prompted her not to look away from him— even for a second. He then unbuttoned his pants, taking them off along with his underwear as best as he could without leaving the bed, which had his cock springing up towards his stomach in all its glory.
She couldn’t help but lick her lips and bite down on the bottom one, all in an effort to hide the anticipation she felt bubbling within her.
And when the Hashira gripped the scabbard by the middle, lifting it up with one hand— so he could sling it over his head and across his shoulders— her breath hitched inside her throat at the magnificent display that it provided.
His muscles moved so gracefully beneath his skin, captivating (Y/n) all the more as he put his hands on her waist and yanked her down towards him— so that his erection hovered right above her stomach, with his balls pressed flush against her cunt and ass.
Then, with his right hand, he ran his fingers up her slit— collecting the wetness that had gathered there when he had played with her while she was asleep.
He couldn’t help himself earlier, and had given in to the urge to suck on her clit and slip his tongue inside her before he had tried her ankles to the scabbard of his sword.
“I’m not going to take you fully; not until we’re married,” Kyōjurō smirked at that, all while dipping one of his fingers inside her to the first knuckle. His words had flown over her head; completely overshadowed by the lust that fogged up her brain.
In response, (Y/n)’s eyes fluttered shut, only to fly open when she felt him slap his cock against her clit. “Eyes on me, my love. Always on me.”
And with that, the young man took the hand that had been inside her and brought it up to his cock— smearing her wetness and his pre-cum all over the head of his cock.
“Yes, Kyōjurō,” (Y/n) whispered, albeit a bit shyly— since she still wasn’t used to having his name fall from her lips; especially in the setting that they were always at in her ‘dreams’.
Her words had the Hashira’s cock twitching, however, as he felt his urge to fuck her increase tenfold. Just hearing her utter his name felt like a heady drug, one that he knew he could get addicted to; and a treat that he knew he would relish in until they were old and gray.
But he couldn’t take her just yet, since he knew that she was only being pliant because she thought that she was dreaming. It was evident in the way that her eyes would always go unfocused when she tried to introspect and rationalize things— especially during the first few minutes of her waking up to the sight of him.
“Good girl,” He praised softly, smiling at her as he began to rub the tip of his dick against her clit; earning the softest and most sinful mewls from her as she tried to keep her eyes on his. And when her eyes began to flutter closed, Kyōjurō slapped the underside of his cock against her once more— making her jolt to full attention.
A sexy grin made its way onto the Hashira’s face once more— replacing the brief scowl that had marred his features before— as he began rubbing his cock faster against (Y/n)’s slit. He dragged his length up and down her pussy, making sure to generously coat the head with her wetness, especially as he reared back and let the tip slip down to her entrance.
The young woman’s eyes widened at the cockhead pressed against her, threatening to slip inside her with every one of her lover’s minute thrusts. She couldn’t even speak, let alone think of anything else as she felt the wide cockhead slowly slip past her folds— making her wince at the mild sting that she felt with him stretching her more than his finger had earlier.
Meanwhile, it was taking everything in Kyōjurō not to bury himself inside her to the hilt. Instead, he wrapped his fist around his length— settling for stroking himself with his tip nestled snugly inside her pussy, while his free arm wrapped around her thigh in a vise-like grip.
His fingers dug into her skin so hard that he was sure she would have bruises there in the morning, but it was done more to keep himself from losing control and fucking her more than to hurt her.
However, with every shallow thrust and his hand’s consistent stroking, he only felt himself get spurred on even more— especially with the scabbard gently thumping against his shoulders with the slightest movement.
“Fuck, sweetheart, I can’t wait until I get to fuck you on our wedding night,” Kyōjurō uttered breathlessly, all while keeping up his own ministrations to chase his own orgasm.
But he wasn’t so selfish that he would forget to make her cum too. So, he unhooked the hand that gripped onto her thigh, and moved it to rest against her lower abdomen— with his thumb pressed against her clit and frantically rubbing it at the same pace that he was stroking his cock.
“Oh, oh my, Kyōjurō,” The young woman breathed out quietly, with her hands gripping the sheets beneath her so tightly that her knuckles had turned white. “P-please, I want to...”
That only spurred Kyōjurō even more, to the point where he had dug deep with his knees and lowered his hips slightly so that his thrusts were aimed upwards— against her walls. He was going deeper than what he had initially intended, but he was nowhere near close to fully sheathing even half of his length inside her.
Still, he kept on moving against her, thrusting his cock against her walls in search of that spot that he’d heard others mention in passing.
And when he did find it, he felt (Y/n) tighten up so much around him that an involuntary breathless moan left his lips. So, with her throwing her head back in pleasure, with her eyes closed— which he would punish her later for— he kept rutting against that same spot; all while jacking himself off and keeping up with rubbing her clit.
He was doing so many things at once, yet he didn’t mind at all— as long as he got to pleasure both himself and his beloved.
It didn’t take long after that for (Y/n) to reach her own orgasm, jaw falling slack as she let out such a loud and pleasure moan that had Kyōjurō slapping the hand he’d previously had on her clit against her mouth. Still, she shamelessly let her pleasure be known to him— despite it being muffled by his palm.
And with a few more thrusts and strokes of his other hand, he felt his cum spurt out of his cock in thick ropes— coating her walls and flowing inside her.
It had the Hashira wishing that it would take, so they could have a baby as soon as possible. But he knew that it wouldn’t, since he had put a contraceptive in the tea that (Y/n) had had with him that afternoon. All in preparation for what he was doing at that very moment; filling her up with his seed, instead of cumming on her body or in her mouth like he’d done before.
‘Soon, my love. Very soon, I’ll get the opportunity to get you pregnant.’ With those thoughts swimming inside his head, Kyōjurō smiled and leaned down to brush his nose against hers. “I love you, (Y/n); more than anything else in the world.”

Akaza and Doma - BFFS
Tumblr media
Akaza and Doma are the only two of the upper moons with any kind of relatoinship to each other, namely in how much Akaza despises Doma, and how despite that Doma pretends to be his friend. For both of them it’s more like a hollow imitation of a connection than any genuine feelings between them. That being said, despite the fact they have no true feelings for one another the characters are heavily connected in story. They may not be best friends forever, but they are best foils forever. The reason Doma and Akaza could never get along is because they both believe the same thing, that there is nothing enjoyable about life and no meaning in continuing to live. The difference is Akaza had the love that made his life meaningful and lost it, whereas Doma never had any to begin with and has no idea those feelings even exist.
Which is why despite the fact that they do not get along, the two of them complement each other. They were made for each other in fact. Made to reflect each other. LET’S TAKE A LOOK UNDER THE CUT.
1. Akaza Lost Everything
Both Doma and Akaza believe that their lives are primarily meaningless. However, they come to this conclusion through completely opposite paths. They both live empty lives, but Akaza attempts to fill that emptiness with pursuing strength whereas Doma just embraces that emptiness. Which is why Akaza needs to reject Doma, because he is a reminder of the emptiness Akaza is constantly running away from.
Tumblr media
We see this in Akaza’s introduction and his fight with Rengoku. He is absolutely baffled why Rengoku would choose to die, when he could live forever and become stronger. Akaza believes when someone dies, something is lost that cannot be replaecd. For him life is meaningless because it is fleeting, but once again as I will get to later this comes from Akaza’s feelings after having lost everything. Even his own memories of what he lost are gone at the moment.
Tumblr media
Akaza is someone who cannot appreciate the beauty of life the same way Rengoku can, because he is unable to live with the losses. Akaza’s idea of strength is basically a child’s idea, being so strong you never lose and die, being so absolute in your strength that nobody can take anything with you. However as Rengoku says that’s not true strength. What Akaza has is a tremendous weakness and cowardice, because he is so afraid of losing things he cannot go on. Unlike the people who are individually crawling out of the wrekcage of the train but still trying to survive, no matter how physically strong he is he lacks the will to try and live with the losses like those people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Akaza’s vew of the world itself is rather black and white. Remember, he is essentially a stunted child who lost everything when he was on the precipice of growing up, and then was taken advantage of and forced to stay immortally in that state forever. His mind has stagnated for years so it makes sense that he cannot be at the same level of maturity that Rengoku is.
Akaza’s view of the world is so simple, the strong ones, and the chosen ones are the ones who find happiness. Those who are not strong, or chosen, will lose everything.
Therefore it’s impossible for someone to attain happiness if they are weak. Once again, Akaza’s ideas are centered around the fact that if he personally was strong enough he would never lose anything, and also the pre-supposed idea that he should have been strong enough to protect what he had before. This is a mindset that does not allow himself to cope with the loss in any way. There’s no healing, there’s no forgiving himself for not being strong enough, all he can do is continue to lose.
Tumblr media
The pursuit of strength that drives him is ultimately empty. He has long forgotten why he wants to be stronger. He lost his reasons the moment he lost everybody he wanted to protect, but beyond that it’s because Akaza could never accept those losses in the first place. Because he sees everything as coming down to strength in the end, he cannot accept that sometimes bad things happen. There are some situations where you cannot help but lose things no matter how strong you are. However, Akaza clings to the idea of his own strength because he has nothing left. He wants to fight, because otherwise he would be a weak man who has lost everything, prolonging a life he does not even want to live anymore.
Tumblr media
Akaza takes far too much personal responsibility for everything. Even though he’s a child just trying to survive in a cruel system, he blames his fathers illness, and his inability to help his own father on himself. If only he were stronger, than he would not be suffering this way, that is the narrative Akaza has clung to his entire life.
Tumblr media
Akaza also has a pattern where he continually wants to suffer to protect the people that he loves, but he does not understand at all that the people who love him would never wish this pain on him. As it’s shown in the flashback, Akaza’s father told his son to live, but Akaza himself doesn’t understand his father’s wishes and says he would have endured any kind of beating for his father’s sake.
Tumblr media
Genuinely in his heart, all Akaza wants to do is live for the people that he loves. At the same time he cannot do that, because the people he loves also love him in return and would never wish to see him suffer in that way.
It’s important to remember Akaza had almost no agency from a young age. That he was continually forced to deal with being poor, having absolutely no secure household, being homeless, basically no control over his own life at all adn always being at the mercy of adults. The reason Akaza cannot stand the feelings of weakness is because he’s been made to feel weak his entire life. The reason he wants strength is he wants the security he does not have.
Tumblr media
The difference between Akaza and Doma is that Akaza was shown the love Doma never even received, and was given a chance to heal. In a way though that made him worse, because after coming back from losing everything he was forced to endure losing everything again. Which is why they both came to the same conclusion, that their life is worthless and empty. That they meant nothing in the end.
Tumblr media
Akaza lost everything in a situation out of his control, so he took that to mean if he had strength he would have the agency that was taken from him as well. However once again, they were killed in a poisoning incident, not a fist fight. What Akaza cannot stand is that he will one day lose people. The idea of losing people makes any kind of connection he tries to form meaningless, and he thinks the promises he made those people were all lies.
Which is another common point between Akaza and Doma. Despite the fact that they find their lives to be empty and don’t want to live, they keep on prolonging their lives, and it only makes the wounds in them worse and fester. Because they themselves cannot accept what is lost within them, what they are missing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
When Akaza says he hates weak people, he comes to the realization what he hated was his own weak self who could never do anything for the people he loved. That he could not go on living without them, or try to follow the words they left behind. He believes everything he did in life was a waste, and he broke all the promises he made to other people.
However to the people who loved him in his life, Akaza’s own promises were not meaningless. The love he had for them did not go to waste. They accept him, even after he became a demon, even after he died. There love for him did not go away. It’s not gone, even if it’s lost.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
That acceptance of his loss, instead of continually trying to fight against himself to prove that he’s not weak is what finally allows Akaza to return to his old self. What gives him the love he so desperately needs is not a show of strength, but rather a show of weakness which is where his true feelings reside.
Which is again, yet another similarity between Doma and Akaza. They both act very childish, proud, and arrogant on the surface but they themselves despite all of their flashiness are weak, damaged people who live their entire lives trying to cover up and deny this weakness.
However they are opposites in their ends, as Akaza always had a home to go back to, whereas Doma never had those things in the first place and never acquired them in life.
2. Doma has Nothing
Tumblr media
Specifically what seems to bother Akaza about Doma’s behavior is how he pretends to care about other people. Especially since Akaza himself is driven deep down at heart, by how much he cares about and wants to love and be loved in return by the people in his life. The genuine connections he made to people and how deep his feelings, and also his wounds run have always been Akaza’s strongest trait. It’s because he cared so much about others, that the loss of them was like losing a part of himself, his eyes, or his heart, or one of his limbs. It’s a wound he can never heal from, only let it rot forever.
Which is why Doma pretending to care about other people would be such an affront to him. Doma just plays around with the emotions that drive Akaza the most.
Tumblr media
However, Doma and Akaza’s ideologies when they are the demon slayers are almost identical. They both believe that because death exists, because suffering in life exists and loss ther is no meaning in life. However, Akaza came to feel that way after he was dehumanized in his life over and over again. Whereas, Doma never had those connections from the start. Never in his life was he treated as a human.
Tumblr media
I don’t think people take seriously what a dehumanizing environment being raised in a cult is. Despite the fact that Akaza was smart enough to realize that his parents were using him, he was still an abuse victim that was taken advantage of by his parents. He was still a child who was used over and over again. The reason Doma feels no genuine feelings is because he’s had several adults since he was born, always place their worries on a mere child.
Tumblr media
Doma literally even says that he constantly had other people’s emotions dumped on him when he was a kid. People don’t realize how formative the development of children is, you cannot learn to develop healthy emotions of your own if your emotions are not treated as valid by the adults around you in your life. Doma is not a born sociopath, he’s stunted emotionally and egocentric like a child. The exact same way that Akaza clings to his childish belief that if he was stronger all the misery in the world would go away, Doma clings to the belief that none of the misery in the world matters because everybody is going to end up dead in the end. This is once again, both of them trying to cope with a reality that foisted everything upon them and denied them continually any humanity at all when they were both children.
Akaza and Doma both became demons as a result of nobody in their life treating them as a human, or if they did in Akaza’s case he lost those people. They were continually dehumanized by the environment around them.
Tumblr media
Doma knows his parents are using him, but he still clearly is reacting to being raised in that environment. Despite the fact that he does not believe in the cult, his entire life is centered around the cult because there is really nothing else for him. He was shown no other way of living, just used by selfish parents and abandoned.
Tumblr media
It’s not that he has those feelings, it’s that Doma has never been shown anything genuine. ANd by the time he was an adult he stopped looking for the genuine thing believing it no longer existed. What Doma wants is what everyone else has, and the same thing Akaza wanted. They both wanted to live in this world to connect, to have something that made their lives feel less empty.
Tumblr media
Neither of them want to be demons at all. They want to be human, they want to feel what everyone else has. However, Doma was constantly dehumanized by his own parents, and raised in a dehumanizing cult and Akaza lived in a world that dehumanized the poor and crimminals for just trying to survive.
Doma believing that the bonds between other people have no meaning at all, is a response to that. He wants to feel what everybody else does, but he cannot. Therefore, he chooses to believe that the feelings of other people are empty because the alternative is admitting that he is empty and lived his life for nothing. The same as Akaza, who believved that other people besides him were weak because he did not want to admit his own weakness.
What they both want is a child’s view of the world. Doma wants a world where nobody is suffering and nobody feels pain, and believes that only the emptiness of death absolves these things. Akaza wants a world where he is so strong he never has to endure any loss at all. However, what both of them are unable to do is simply keep on living as people. They are unable to live as people in a world with loss, in a world that is frigid and sometimes lonely, and so they choose to live on as demons instead.
Tumblr media
When Doma accuses other people of never having a happy moment in their lives, he’s really just talking about himself.
Tumblr media
What Doma is doing here is playing the part of a fictional villain. He’s responding to an irrational world by using a narrative. If he is a villain, if he’s an evil monster in a story book then he’s no longer a person. He doesn’t have to feel like he’s inferior to everyone else, that he’s missing something.
Tumblr media
Doma’s death is even sadder beacuse we learn that both of his parents were only in his life to take advantage of him, and exitting his life he could not feel anything for the two people who did not love him in the first place. Doma doesn’t feel sad or lonely, because he was never shown the opposite in the first place, there was never a point where he felt happy, when he was accepted by someone.
Tumblr media
Doma points out that he could try to keep living, but unlike Akaza who accepted his death Doma just sort of doesn’t care enough about being alive to even try. It’s not the afterlife for Doma that’s empty, it’s life itself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Unlike Akaza he had no home. For him, nothing was gained and nothing was lost. However his last request even to Shinobu shows that what him and Akaza wanted was the same thing all along. Just one single connection, proof that they were alive, that they mattered to someone. They both wanted to become human again through the connections they had with other people.

the pillars are family
💕Mitsuri Kanroji💕
she’s honestly the one to start it all
Constant, “oh, you’re so cute!”s and “wow, they’re so cool!”s…this girl is so full of love what else do you expect??
Constantly tries to include Tomioka despite his icy reception to it
Misturi loves hugs, cuddles, kisses, and all sorts of touchy-feeling ways of showing love
She’s the most affectionate, tackling others with hugs, especially with Rengoku and Gyomei, who are tall enough for her to sit on their shoulders
She constantly snuggles with Muichiro, despite the boy being anywhere between indifferent to annoyed
(He begins to honestly enjoy it, and misses her when they work away from each other)
Insists that everyone meet up for lunch when they’re all working in separate regions
She tries to cook for everyone, especially Muichiro(“He’s so tiny!”) but is honestly better at eating and cooking
(Shinobu teachers her how to cook a little)
The most likely to throw herself in front of others for danger
When one of them comes back injured, she just runs and tackles them and her eyes are waterfalls
Crazy aunt that everyone loves
💠Tengen Uzui💠
L O U D
loud, tough, and will protect at all costs!!!
Usually takes part in the more forward-teasing of the other pillars, playfullly challenging him
But he has a good sense when enough is enough
Honestly the best at giving advice, in his crass kind of way
Outspoken, will comment directly when he notices something off
No tact, but big heart
📿Gyomei Himejima📿
(Dad???)
Surprisingly, Gyomei is actually the second most affectionate with the others (speaking in terms of genuine affection)
It’s just like taking care of the kids at the temple all over again
(Sometimes, they remind him of the temple so much that it hurts)
He’s more likely to just listen everyone and smile to himself
And he’s extremely intuitive when the others are feeling down,
He’ll usually try to cheer them up indirectly, by leaving stuff that they were looking for in plain sight
Other time’s he’ll tell Mitsuri to cheer them up (really, just telling them someone is down is enough)
In dire cases *cough*Tomioka*cough*, he’s the one to remind them to eat, and you know... take care on themselves
Honestly the best person to vent to, sympathetic and quiet
God, he loves playing with children, and letting them climb him while he’s as still as a tree
There’s admiration from everyone else, but also gushing over how s o f t this man is
🦋Shinobu Kocho🦋
Sneaky!!!
Also sassy
God, she loves teasing everyone(Tomioka especially), sometimes, she doesn’t really know when to stop...
She seems abrasive to anyone on the outside, but the pillar’s eventually learn there’s no ill will in her japes
She’ll go out with Muichiro and they’ll judge people together
Mitsuri and Shinobu cook together, Mitsuri mostly trying to bake sweets while Shinobu usually makes herbal soups and teas
Gyoumei knew her since her sister became a pillar, and has honestly adopted her and constantly looks after her
Whenever anyone is sick, Shinobu insists to personally watch over them and deal with their medical procedures
(This goes along with lecturing the hell out of them)
On days when they come back injured, she never sheds a tear, instead stony and determined
In the end, she’s at their bedside, claiming she’s there for some medical reason or another, which saves the prides of herself and some one the more prideful boys (Tomioka and Senemi specifically)
💧Tomioka Giyuu💧
He’s trying, ok?
He’s still aloof and quiet and reserved- that much is obvious to anyone
But when he’s around the other pillars, and they’re joking and everything’s okay, his shoulders relax and his smile softens
Actually even seems shy and unsure of himself? And he’ll just hover in the back until Kyojuro and Mitsuri slings him into some Family Bonding
Once, when he was really tired, Kyojuro hugged him from behind and just kind of sunk into it and eventually fell asleep
In his sort of roundabout affect, actually gets to calling the pillars by their first names
He’s almost used to Mitsuri’s affections, only if she didn’t jump him-
(He asked Mitsuri to help him make ohagi for Sanemi. It took a lot of guessing and awkward pauses, but he got the point across)
He’s not awkward with Shinobu at all. They spend most of their time bickering over little things, however, that’s just they are. A frenemies kind of situation
🐍Obanai Ijuro🐍
Also a sneaky boy
But less of Shinobu’s I’ll-tease-you-and-give-you-disguised-compliments brand of sneaky, he’s more of I-don’t-care-about-you-but-I’ll-kill-anyone-that-hurts-you kind of sneaky love
Obanai’s the most honest with Mitsuri, but that’s really just gripping her hand and getting outwardly upset and jealous for her
Everyone else he’ll kind of hiss at??
“Affection??? BLEH”
(Mitsuri knows he’s actually so soft)
(Handholding, physical touch, but not in the way Mitsuri or Kyojuro is—subtle, quiet, but reaffirming)
🔥Kyojuro Rengoku🔥
Along with Mitsuri, the most affectionate out of them all
Lots of hugs from the back, usually lifting them up(except with Gyomei, which in that case, he’lol just squeeze him really hard)
Lots of carrying people as affection
(Sometimes, when Shinobu and Tomioka are arguing a lot, he’ll just swing the both of them over his shoulders til the calm down)
So w a r m
Just, actually the warmest, cuddliest person
Every pillar has woken up with Kyojuro’s haori on them at some point
Yelling is the best way to cheer people up, according to him
But despite that, he’s quite profound when giving motivating speeches
Where Gyoumei acts as some sort of human jungle gym, Kyojuro loves to actively play with the village children
Great with kids and will happily amuse Muichiro in whatever he wants (usually cloud watching, in which Kyojuro is very loud but also very wholesome)
(“LOOK THAT CLOUD LOOKS LIKE OHAGI”)
(“mmmhmm”)
Usually acts Sanemi and Tomioka to spar
Him and Uzui are drinking buddies
🌪Sanemi Shinazugawa🌪
RAWR
crass, easily pissed
(but honestly??? he just cares a lot. like, way too much)
he’s more likely to actually fight people if they hurt any of the pillars
God forbid anyone badmouths his family
Less soft like Iguro, and more tsundere-ish?
Like, he only shows affection after a long while
And he’s quiet, but firm, never really saying anything
That, or he’s desperate
And yelling
And crying
Berates the others sometimes, usually in a less angry and more “you scared me half to death”
(But it’s not like he’ll admit it)
🌬Muichiro Tokito 🌬
b a b y
Yeah, he gets babied by the others a lot
(He has Mitsuri wrapped around his finger easily)
Not that they forget his strength— it’s just Muichiro is such a kid sometimes
For one, he has a sweet tooth, and constantly swipes some mochi Mitsuri and Shinobu are making
He tends to wander around aimlessly and just kind of looks at things with an awe or curiosity
He fidgets with his haori a lot, too— the fabric is a lot nicer than anything’s he’s ever had before—this leads to Mitsuri getting him a small plush
He also has a tendency to fall asleep during peacetime, anywhere, anytime
Never the one to refuse Mitsuri’s cuddles, she’s comfy after all

Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train – All Aboard
Tumblr media
In 2020, and what I believe to be the first time ever, the highest grossing film of the year wasn’t American. It wasn’t Chinese, either, which one could reasonably expect to be the first non-American film to take the crown. No, it was Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train. That’s an achievement that may never be matched. It also broke the record for home box office gross, now reigning over both Spirited Away and Your Name.
$500 million gross is a lot of cash to rake in, especially during a global pandemic. But after finally getting around to watch Mugen Train, which is essentially “Season 1.5” of the series, I totally understand why: it is an absolute crowd pleaser stuffed with action, comedy, and drama. I laughed; I cried; I may have pumped my fist and shouted “Fuck yeah!” once or twice.
But! Mugen Train is merely a very good movie. It is certainly a very good movie watching experience. What it is definitely not is a great film, and falls far short of the masterpiece status of the anime films whose records it broke. There is no single big reason for that, but several smaller ones which become evident throughout its prestigious 117-minute runtime.
* * * * *
First, as we know from the end of the first season (yes, you really should watch it), a Kasugai crow ordered Tanjirou (with Nezuko on his back), Zenitsu, and Inosuke to join Flame Hashira Rengoku Kyoujurou aboard the titular Mugen Train, which has a demon problem. Rengoku is, as most high-ranking warriors in these kinds of shows, a bit of an eccentric, but has heard about Tanjirou and Nezuko and is even willing to train him.
Their demon opponent is Enmu, a member of the Lower Six and the group’s resident “gross body horror” niche occupied by the likes of Bleach’s 12th Captain, Kurotsuchi Mayuri (or more recently, Jujutsu Kaisen’s Mahito). Enmu spends much of the movie standing atop the front of the train, talking about how much he’s looking forward to devouring its 200 passengers but never actually doing so despite having ample opportunity. Ya know, typical big bad behavior.
Enmu’s preferred way of rendering his prey helpless is by putting them to sleep. He has made four regular human passengers plus the conductor into his minions: the tickets the conductor punches contain a bit of his blood which is used to put the slayers to sleep along with everyone else. In exchange, the minions are promised wonderful dreams in which to lose themselves.
Tumblr media
With all the demon slayers asleep, we take a look into the dreams they’re having, none of which come as much of a surprise. Tanjirou’s is a very happy dream in which he’s reunited with his family, who act like they were never slaughtered by a demon. Suffice it to say, it’s an easy dream to get lost in.
Zenitsu’s dream involves frolicking through forests and fields with Nezuko, which would be touching were his relationship with her in the show not so easily boiled down to “one-sided obsession” or simply “toxic.” Inosuke’s dream is aggressively weird and surreal, like him, but like Zenitsu and Tanjirou’s doesn’t offer any further insight into the character.
Rengoku’s does, but only because aside from a couple of brief scenes last season, we don’t really know who the guy is. What we do get is pure hero boilerplate: following in the footsteps of a former Hashira father who gave up the life and doesn’t care anymore, while having to be both big brother and father figure to his younger brother to keep him from falling into despair. Also, their sainted mom is dead.
Tumblr media
Ultimately the dreams aren’t supposed to be particularly enlightening to us, as long as they keep the dreamers occupied and distracted. The minions then go in, find the edges of their dreams, tear them open with what look like icepicks provided by Enmu, and pass into the subconscious where their spiritual cores lie. Obviously, none of the minions succeeds.
Tanjirou already has an inkling he’s in a world of illusion, since his default thoughts are that his family is dead and Nezuko is a demon, so his senses must be wrong. His subconscious actually reaches out to him through a reflection in the water, telling him he needs to wake up, even if it’s being made very difficult to do so because it means running away from his confused and upset family.
His minion, by the way, sought relief in his dreams because in the waking world he was wasting away from Tuberculosis. When he reaches Tanjirou’s gorgeous (and very Spirited Away-esque!) subconscious, he doesn’t have the heart to go through with destroying his core. Tanjirou ends up waking up by slashing his neck with his own sword—call it the equivalent of the “kicks” in Inception that wake you up from dreams (or dreams within dreams).
Tanjirou is the first to wake up. Rengoku’s survival instinct kicks in and he chokes his minion before she can destroy his core (a very graphic depiction of violence against a woman that’s very oddly scored as triumphant) but he remains asleep. Tanjirou sees that Nezuko burned away the rope connecting him to his minion, and asks her to burn away the others’ ropes while he goes topside to meet the boss.
Tumblr media
After exchanging some standard big-bad/hero dialogue, Tanjirou manages to behead Enmu, but of course his head isn’t really his head, nor his body his real body. Turns out he’s merged with the train, meaning the entire train his his body, with his head hidden…somewhere (the head of the train).
Enmu then continues to put Tanjirou to sleep, taking the same route as the Farscape masterpiece “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, turning the dreams into increasingly disturbing nightmares to throw the hero off his game. Tanjirou counters this by continuously slashing his neck as soon as he enters his dream.
With every surface of the train suddenly erupting with reddish-purple goo, suddenly all 200 passengers have to be protected at once. Fortunately, thanks to Nezuko burning their ropes the others start waking up, starting with Inousuke, who is ready to rumble. Nezuko slashes at the tentacles attacking passengers, but is quickly overwhelmed and restrained.
Enter Zenitsu, who gets to have a seriously badass moment with his thunder breathing assault, rescuing her from her doom. Let it be said this film does nothing to make Nezuko more of the bit character/mascot she devolved into in the anime, and outside of Tanjirou and Zenitsu’s dreams, she never speaks, which remains odd as there are plenty of demons who can talk.
Tumblr media
All the commotion caused by Zenitsu’s thunder and lightning finally wakes up Rengoku, who has does his whole “how have I been sleeping through all this” line, and fills the cars with tentacle-burning flames (which naturally don’t affect the passengers). He orders Tanjirou and Inousuke to find Enmu’s head while he protects the passengers in five of the eight cars and Zenitsu and Nezuko handles the remaining three.
When his best water breathing technique can only tear away the flesh of Enmu’s “neck” to reveal the bone, Tanjirou employs his dad’s Hinokami Kagura breathing, which does the trick. Enmu’s real head is separated from his body (the train) and in his death throes, the train is derailed and crashes…which really should kill a lot of the passengers, yet doesn’t.
During his struggle with Enmu the minion conductor stabbed Tanjirou in the abdomen, but Rengoku quickly teaches Tanjirou how to use Total Concentration, Constant to staunch his broken blood vessel. Even so, Tanjirou is in no condition to fight anymore, with more than forty minutes left in the film. Enmu slowly disintegrates after lots of whining, including about how he was never able to enjoy his meal (which was all his fault) or rise to the ranks of the Upper Ten.
Tumblr media
Right on cue, one of the members of that Upper Ten shows up completely out of the blue: the Upper Three, Akaza, covered in tatts and slightly resembling an evil Tanjirou with his short-cropped red hair. And while the ensuing duel between Akaza and Rengoku is pretty cool, the combat animation isn’t appreciably better than that of the TV show. More importantly, Akaza and the battle feel tacked on rather than a natural escalation of the conflict.
It also begs the question of if an even bigger demon big bad could show up willy-nilly, why couldn’t the same be true of other Hashira? The answer is, because the movie needs Rengoku to die, even though he was being set up as Tanjirou’s new mentor and big brother figure. At the end of the day, Akaza can regenerate almost instantly, while Rengoku is a mortal human of flesh and blood, and the wounds he suffers prove fatal.
Tumblr media
The climax of the film also plays with the timing of the rising of the sun, which begins to light Akaza’s face as Rengoku tries to hold him in place so he’ll disintegrate. Instead, he flees into the forest to fight another day and provide Tanjirou with a future opponent with whom to avenge Rengoku. Like Demon Slayer reinforcements, the sun doesn’t show up when you’d think it should.
Tumblr media
The final act consists of Rengoku providing Tanjirou the same encouragement as his little brother in his dream (and presumably in real life), as well as meeting his force ghost sainted mother, who tells him she’s proud of him (he did reject Akaza’s repeated offers to turn him into a demon, after all). Tanjirou is naturally very upset over losing another important person in his life.
As for the impact it had on me…the film just didn’t do the adequate legwork to make him anything more than a passing guest star. He had a few goofy moments, a few badass moments, and a very long death scene, and was suddenly gone, seemingly as soon as he arrived.
So as much of a funny, thrilling and sometimes genuinely moving crowd-pleaser as Mugen Train was, as a sequel to the series it fulfilled a fairly utilitarian role, establishing how tough the Hashira can be, while establishing that the most powerful demons are even tougher, on the biggest screen possible.
It also gave Tanjirou both further motivation to fight the demons, though considering what he’s lost so far, I’d say he already had plenty, as well as the direction to the next nugget of info about his pop’s Kagura, which he’ll surely pursue in the second season. Mugen Train had no shortage of faults to go with its merits, but one thing at which it unassailably succeeded was making me excited for the second season, for which my ticket is already punched.

Demon Slayer 21 - 24 | Given 7 - 11 (FINAL) | Astra 9 - 12 (FINAL) | Fruits Basket 20 - 24 | Dr Stone 8 - 11 | Cop Craft 8 - 10 (not including recap ep.)
Demon Slayer 21
Ooh, butterfly titlecard.
Well…at least we know Muzan…wasn’t always Muzan Jackson.
Can demons go to hell…?
Aw, seeing Rui become human again (at least in his head) was pretty cute.
Shinobu is off her rocker!!! (a continuation of a comment I made in the collab post for last ep.)
“…don’t forget about the other one!” – The other…what, exactly…?
This girl…is Kanao, isn’t it…? She’s the “other one”!
I was almost hoping Shinobu’s shoe blade would stab the crow…it ruined a perfectly good buch of Giyu reaction faces…
Ukogi! You came back to me!
Why can’t the girls wear trousers too…? (someone grumbles “Because that’s not in accordance with the times in the Taisho Era) I don’t care, let girls wear pants! This is not Strike Witches! Update: Shinobu wears pants, actually…*people collectively facepalm*
Kakushi means “hidden/to hide”. It makes a lot of sense, to be honest.
Given 7
I like the ambient sounds in this show.
If Akihiko learnt you thought something was wrong with him, he’d beat you up. Stat.
Haruki and Akihiko: masters of reading the room. (When they’re counted as a pair, that is.)
I just realised Akihiko is daling with Mafuyu because of Yayoi…Yayoi is what Kasai could be and Ugetsu/Akihiko is what Ritsuka/Mafuyu could be.
Dr Stone 8
Note Jasper says “baka musume” – he still acknowledges Kohaku is his daughter even after disowning her.
“We’re neither gods nor geniuses,” says Senku, a genius…hmm.
Suika has such a cute voice that it’s easy to guess her gender…*hint hint*
Was it “kitto” (certainly) or “Kinro” Ginro said in his sleep…?
I think the eyecatch might be iron sand (some form of it, at least).
Fruits Basket 20
(no notes here, sorry!)
Cop Craft 8
What was that black thing that appeared before the plane broke apart…?
Ohhhhhhh…kay. That was not something I signed up for…
Isn’t there some kind of magic Tilarna can use to get back into her body?
I find it ironic that Seven Miles (a place name, I presume) is 3 miles away…
Given 8
I never skip the OP…so I guess it helps that I found Marutsuke and Kizuato on Spotify. (<-Here you go.)
Indirect kiss…!
I’m reminded of what Boueibu said about umbrella colour being a reflection of your personality when I see Mafuyu with a disposable umbrella.
“Hiiragi Kashima wants to be forgiven” sounds like a LN title.
(I had some notes here, but I forgot them…such is the life of watching on phone but writing the notes down later.)
Demon Slayer 22
I LOLled when Tanjiro asked what a Hashira was…(does he know what it is…? Should we know at this point what it is, or did spoilers ruin it for me?)
Wisteria pattern!
LOL, I like Mist Hashira already!
Only Shinobu has a hiragana first name (out of the Hashiras)…hmm.
Shi-Shinazugawa…? Isn’t that the surname of angry-for-the-sake-of-angry mohawk guy from Final Selection…?
Tanjiro uses his head…once again. (That joke never gets old! What do you mean, you don’t like it…?)
Hashiras’ jackets say korosu (to kill) while ordinary slayers get horobosu (to destroy) and Kakushis’ jackets say, well, kakushi (to hide).
“I wonder if the sky is blue.” – Is this person (master of the mansion)…blind…?
The bandage-head Hashira who says “flamboyant” all the time…he reminds me of Senku…(in a bad way.)
I wonder if Giyu will be punished…? A few comments this episode have suggested such an outcome.
“…devours humans…”
Rengoku (flame Hashira)…I think I once saw him being referred to as “Blaziken Head” by someone on the ‘net…LOL.
How does the Master know this…? The Kasugai crows, right?
I just realised the love Hashira has a skirt…
Poor Giyu has his head turned away…he’s too embarrassed to even blush.
Fruits Basket 21
I noticed the fanclub only ever calls Hana “wave girl”…
I love how the narrator, a middle-aged man, has to voice the thoughts of a teenage girl.
Fruits Basket 22
(no notes, sorry!)
Dr Stone 9
H & N, huh…?
Astra 9
So…what is the sphere…?
Luca’s real dad vs. Quitterie’s mom = art vs. science, LOL.
…I almost cried when everyone started crying…
Uh…random question I didn’t think about when it was revealed, but should Luca invest in a bra…?
You can see Gruppies and waves on the wall while Kanata and Luca talk…and shrooms...and coral…
Wait, so these guys are all…aliens? Polina is the only one from Earth…? What about the sphere???
Cop Craft 9
Why did the intro get moved to the middle of the episode…? Also, I’ve noticed there’s a special episode next week…it means there really was a budget and/or scheduling stuff-up along the way somewhere, just like you can suspect with an anime that moves as terribly as this one.
There’s a strange dent in Kei’s leg…specifically, on his kneecap…
Astra 10
Guardian Enzo said no one’s mentioned the Astra crew never said they were from Earth before…now I’m noticing it too.
W-WHAT?! I was right????? (see this post for why I suspected Charce to be the culprit)
Demon Slayer 23
3 episodes until the end, huh…?
Why does Sanemi taunting Nezuko remind me of a sexual encounter…? (with the “You know you want it” etc.)…Uh, bad news, guys. Sanemi is 21 and Nezuko is 14, so no shipping unless you don’t mind 7 year age gaps and an underage girl, all in the one ship.
Mist Hashira? Using rocks to flick at the esteemed guest (Tanjiro)? Hmm, he ain’t quite my type after all…
This Kakushi that keeps punching Tanjiro seems to be a woman…or just a guy with very long eyelashes. Update: Nope, definitely a woman. The Kakushi dynamic almost reminds me of Jessie and James from Pokémon…
Heyyyyyyy! Don’t underestimate a girl!!!!!!!!!!
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh nope. Nope. Nope. I was hoping we wouldn’t hear about how Zenitsu’s hands were the size of a KFC spork, but…eeeeeeeeeesh…
I never thought I’d be so happy to have Inosuke silenced by spider daddy…well, here we are.
“…I’ll become an old guy and die.” – Wow…even I don’t think of that stuff…
I wonder if Muzan had anything to do with why the Master’s head looks the way it is?
Dr Stone 10
(no notes, sorry!)
Given 9
I wonder if Akihiko ever liked Yayoi in the first place…
I noticed Ritsuka says “atarashii hito” which is translated to “someone else”…the English suggests more intimacy than the Japanese…hmm.
Mafuyu, my boy…! (I bet you could call all of The Seasons “my boys” now.)
I love how Take acts as Haruki’s straight man.
I was wondering why the ANN review was referring to Given as “Wonderwall” – that’s the name of the next episode.
Fruits Basket 23
“What are you doing?”
Astra 11
Only one ‘til the end…oh wow, where did the time go??? (Also, ep. 12’s title of “Friend-Ship” is terrible…a terrible pun…)
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude, I saw the Seira = Aries thing right away…it’s exactly the same as what breaks Juuni Taisen for people…
Wait, but couldn’t Charce, as the king’s clone, becom the heir to the throne instead…?
Oh, that…that joke’s absolutely terrible…! *shakes head* Did you know I was holding my hand over my mouth for basically that entire climactic scene?  I think summer might have a fighting chance in the end-of-year rankings for once!
Demon Slayer 24
I love how Tanjiro is “that headbutting kid” now.
There are cute little butterflies on the title card.
It’s good to see the return of Murata…and those transition faces.
Considering spiders are pretty gross if you think about it, both sides have a point…
Murata’s a more fun character than I thought a bit guy would be…in fact, that might explain why we learn his name, as opposed to being a nobody (like the female Slayer on the mountain that got killed by Spider Mama).
“I think we’re a lot better now.” – Aside from Zenitsu’s hands, that is…*makes disgusted face and thinks of KFC sporks*
Sleeping Ukogi is totes adorbs…*face beams with happiness*
Uhhhhhhhh…I reallllllllly dunno what to feel about Zenitsu’s love of girls. He’s no playboy, that’s for sure. Unfortunately (?), I do agree with Zenitsu on how Inosuke deals with girls though.
Zenitsu’s an M, I tell you! An MMMMMMM!
Wow, someone put real effort…into Zenitsu playing tag with a girl…sad life.
“A girl was able to do that to something that hard?!” – Nyeh-heh-heh-heh…call me dirty-minded, but…because this is blowing into a gourd we’re talking about, it sounds funny out of context.
Lemme guess…Aoi is this blue grumpy one. That’s why I dropped Divine Gate (since characters matched their colour schemes too well). Update: No, this blue one was talking when she mentioned Aoi, so Aoi is one of the three mini butterfly girls, I think. Update 2: No, the sentence was punctuated funny: “You’ll be up against myself, Aoi and Kanao there.” Turns out Aoi really is blue grumpy girl, because the sentence is missing a comma after “Aoi”.
“Please forgive me.” – Hey, Moya, you were right. Plus, that random Haganezuka appearance was funny – that’s been the first time in a while that I’ve laughed at Demon Slayer properly.
Apparently Shinobu and Tanjiro on the roof is a meme now. Now I see why.
“…with their instincts laid totally bare.” – I feel like slayers and demons aren’t so different, because even thought both fight for survival, slayers fight for revenge (in a sense, bloodlust) and demons for actual bloodlust.
“I feel like I can rest easy now.” – Sounds like an early death flag to me! (I may be an anime-only watcher at this point, but I encountered some spoilers that showed me Shinobu’s fate. Be mindful of that if it seems like I’m accurately predicting the future.)
Shinobu and Tanjiro…hmm, what a combo.
I love how the Zenitsu and Inosuke in the background react to crimes they’re being accused of in the foreground.
Cop Craft 10
Emails, emails…can’t anyone talk in person these days? (As much as I love emails, I gotta critique that.)
Hey wait. I thought their AI wasn’t so good…
Kei’s birthday is the 18th of June 1993…? Wow, I didn’t know he was 26.
New what now??? This really is straight outta Compton, if you know what I mean…
The march about aliens here reminds me of the climate strike the other day.
Given 10
Smol Ritsuka…
This show is hilarious when it needs to be. I’m really gonna miss it.
“Kedama” means hairball. “Tama” is a cat’s name, as implied here.
“Mafuyu” has “winter” in it to make a set of 4 seasons though…
Oh, so that’s why they’re – and this show is - “Given”.
Fruits Basket 24
Did Tohru vomit…or was she just catching her breath…?
“…when you are.”
Was this “monstrous Kyo” scene halfway through the manga or at the end? I don’t remember anymore…
Astra 12 (FINAL)
Hmm…I heard about gaman (“tolerance”, “persistence”…or maybe “working through hardship”…?) being a concept in the past few years and I think it’s very much embodied in the streotypical Japanese man…or just Kanata. Who knows?
So…what language are Kanata and co. really speaking? It seems like English, based on the spaceport screens (I rewatched ep. 1 today, I should know), but they’re speaking in Japanese for the sake of the fact it’s anime, right? Update: I also noticed quit a bit of the spaceport advertising is for Lucy Lum, while there is special attention paid to Aries’s eyes in ep. 1.
This is what they mean when they say “history is written by the victors”. To build from that, my idea is that the hegemonic idea becomes the truth, i.e. majority rules wins the ability to write history itself (e.g. patriarchal values, able-bodied people’s values etc. write history, not the minorities).
Aries may have eidetic memory, but she sucks at names. That’s consistent with ep. 1 too.
Oh, right! Kanata’s right arm is his dominant one!...I never knew such fond memories could be made of a single character’s appendage…who knew.
LOL, Charce brought out his sparkly face again.
Ooh, older!Ulgar is hot! Me likey!!!
Ooh, Funi’s star ornament. Ulgar still has one!
I swore that was Quitterie…turned out it was Funi. Oh well, Astra lied to me again. (I’m fine with that.)
You can even see Luca’s femininity for once…!
Ooh, red tulips = true love, white tulips = forgiveness/worthiness. Normally tulips represent “perfect love”. Perfect for Kanata and Aries, don’tcha think?
I was wondering why Kanata had a new black hand. (Maybe it was a glove or something.) Nope, it’s a prosthetic.
I don’t actually know how to say that joke about being a right-hand man in Japanese, despite hearing it from the show twice (I went back and tried to listen again). Somebody tell me, please!
I noticed one of the people in the cast list had an exclamation mark next to their name…well, that was funny for a second.
The one unrecognisable song was Astra-gou no Bouken (Adventure of the Spaceship Astra).
Well, that was a wild ride. I’m definitely sad that it’s over, but remember what they say in the show itself – look forward, not back. See you next time!
Given 11 (FINAL)
Come to think of it, if you interpret Kizuato one way, it means “Traces of Scars”, but this song’s title is in katakana so you can’t tell…
This is like a marriage proposal…
I’ve noticed something – ever since I started engaging with BL and yaoi in earnest, I’ve realised there’s this fear of “not being masculine” enough by both members of the couple. That’s probably what Ritsuka is going through with the box.
What did Ritsuka even bump into on his way out, though…?
Oh, science curriculum, huh? Me, I’m a student of the humanities, so I wouldn’t know about that feel…I was always average at English anyway after essays started coming in…
Oh, we’re back at Harusame. Didn’t think we would be.
I love how Mafuyu’s handle for the band is “Kedama”…the name of his dog.
Update: Turns out the SNS account for Given (band), as well as Mafuyu and Ritsuka, are real...on Twitter. I’d assume Haruki and Akihiko join them for the movie...?
Dr Stone 11
Ooh, lyrics! Finally!
I almost expected Chrome to go, “What’s soap?” – he’s never seen it before, remember?
Note Kaseki means “fossil” in Japanese and contains the kanji for “stone” in it.
Ginro just yelled the Weekly Shonen Jump motto…coincidence? I think not!
Team Shiny Spear Tips Forever complicates things for the crew.

An Attempted Timeline: Kibutsuji, Tsugikuni, Ubuyashiki
Compiled as much as possible in chronological order from canon, Taisho Secrets, and fanbooks, which a few general facts thrown in for additional interpretation. Also, a little comparison of the amounts of humans consumed by different demons. Please feel free to let me know if I’m missing anything or made any mistakes.
We begin with Muzan’s birth in the Heian Period...
It’s the Heian Period (794-1185), and since Muzan is side to be over a thousand years old, I’m placing him born around the year 900-ish.
Muzan is born into what would be the future Ubuyashiki Clan, likely in the Heian capital (modern day Kyoto). Assumed stillborn, he is barely rescued from cremation (a sign of being born very high class nobility).
Muzan grows up sickly and has never had much regard for other people, seeing them akin to bugs, and from around the time he was human to shortly after turning into a demon, five of his wives committed suicide due to his harsh tongue.
A doctor who lived around Mt. Kumotori in the Kanto region (modern day Tokyo area) uses the blue spider lilies that grow there to try to create a medicine to treat Muzan.
Muzan, thinking the medicine isn't working, kills the doctor partway through treatment. It works, but he is no longer able to go in the sun. No qualms about satisfying his cravings for blood, but he is really ticked out about the possibility of the sun killing him.
The Ubuyashiki clan's children keep getting ill. They are told their family carries a curse for Muzan having come from their bloodline, they swear to eliminate Muzan.
No one is safe when born into the Ubuyashiki name (which may have been chosen with origins in ancient Shinto mythology, perhaps with reference to no matter how many of them you kill, they will stubbornly keep birthing more). Girls must marry out and change their surname by age 13, or no matter how careful they are, they will die young by illness or accident. There is only ever one surviving boy per generation, the others all die.
Heian period ends, the Genpei War (1180-1185) sweeps Kyoto and many other parts of Japan into violence, over the centuries thereafter the seat of power switches from Kyoto to Kanto (it’ll switch back later for a while). At some point Muzan has moved to Kanto (likely in search of the blue spider lilies, but possibly because Muzan likes being among those in power too). Swordsman in the Corp do not yet use Breaths and fight in whatever method they can, at some point they began using Nichirin blades because the ore soaks the sunlight. While their sword forms are already in reference to the basic Breath forms we’d know later, they are not yet using Breath techniques. The Pillar system is already in place.
(Rengoku family already practices Kankagari, hence the hair color.)
We get a little fuzzy here. Generally then Tanjiro and company make reference to Yoriichi’s era, they say “over 300 years ago” but according to Kokushibo’s recollection, he last met Yoriichi 400 years ago. That makes us a little too early for the Warring States/Sengoku period, defined as 1467~1615. It’s also possible Kokushibo was rough in his estimation, so I’m splitting the difference and putting them at early Sengoku, giving Kokushibo 370 years since last meeting Yoriichi.
The Onin War occurs 1467-1477, plunging Japan into the Warring States period as it is more technically defined, so we can assume a lot of the important events in the twins’ early life take place in this period of chaos. I’m assuming based on the demon attacks at Mt. Kumotori that they, Muzan, and the Ubuyashiki clan are already based in the Kanto (future Tokyo) region, but a lot of the early, heavy violence of this war took place in Kyoto.
Around the early 1460s, twins are born to the Tsugikuni Clan. Their father, worried about succession disputes, wants to have the second-born twin with a flame birthmark killed (in order to avoid some tragedy that may strike their clan before they are the age of 2), but their normally very quiet mother Akeno puts a stop to that. She names that baby Yoriichi so that he may value relationships, their father names the older one Michikatsu to value victory.
The boys are raised in separate conditions, the illness on Akeno's left side slowly progresses. Michikatsu feels bad for Yoriichi and brings him presents, including a handmade flute that doesn't work well. For years Yoriichi is quiet so as not to trouble his father, so he is assumed deaf. Akeno gives him the earrings when he is seven and prays to a sun god to open his ears, at which point he says his first words, informing her that he can hear. Michikatsu is beat by his father for going to play with Yoriichi, which Michikatsu insists he doesn’t mind, but this leads to severe arguments between their parents.
Still the age of 7, Yoriichi has been watching Michikatsu's sword lessons and is allowed a shot at one of their father's retainers, whom Yoriichi very swiftly defeats. Yoriichi has little interest in swordsmanship but because Michikatsu asked, he explains how he sees the see-through world. Michikatsu's jealously begins.
Because the retainer was so impressed, Yoriichi and Michikatsu's roles change completely, Michikatsu is then the one fated to be sent to a temple at the age of 10 to follow a monk's path. When they are 8 (1470, give or take), Akeno dies at the age of 24, Yoriichi says farewell to Michikatsu, and says he's going to the temple.
Their father loved Akeno very much and he becomes distraught, for he never knew of her illness. As it was her wish to have the boys raised as equals, he tries to amend his ways and goes to the temple to try to bring Yoriichi back, but Yoriichi is not there. (To Michikatsu, this looks like their father is desperate to bring back the more powerful heir.)
Instead of entering the temple, Yoriichi runs a very far distance and encounters an orphan named Uta. They soon become traveling companions, and it's thanks to Uta that Yoriichi learns his ability to see the see-through world is not normal.
10 years later, (roughly 1480, Yoriichi is age 18), Yoriichi and Uta wed and settle on Mt. Kumotori.
By or around this time, Michikatsu is also wed. Their father dies shortly afterward at age 35. Michikatsu goes on to have 2 children.
When Uta is soon to give birth, she is killed by a demon and when Yoriichi finds her, he stays by her corpse for about 10 days. He is found by a Rengoku ancestor, who invite him to join the Demon Slayer Corp. (By the Taisho period, blue spider lilies grow at the spot where Uta was buried. He never falls in love again.)
Yoriichi begins teaching Breath techniques to other Corp members, their demon fighting abilities rapidly get stronger. He gets along very well with the Pillars, who improve their swordsmanship rapidly. They cannot quite manage Sun Breathing, but make the five basic off-shoots: Rock, Water, Wind, Thunder, and Flame. Rengoku keeps many records of this time which are handed down throughout his family.
Yoriichi rescues Michikatsu from a demon. Michikatsu is so taken by Yoriichi's Sun Breathing that he abandons his family to enter the Corp and dedicate himself to learning that technique. He does not pick it up, but develops Moon Breathing. He attains a mark like Yoriichi's, and many other slayers have attained marks as well. Michikatsu is concerned about being the best and passing on his legacy, Yoriichi still doesn't care about these things.
It's very likely that Tamayo is a demon by this time.
Muzan lays low a while, but Michikatsu brings him the head of Oyakata-sama (it is unclear from Gotouge’s notes whether this was immediately upon his becoming a demon, or if it was a few years later and this is the head of the child who oversaw Yoriichi being exiled). The Corp henceforth enacts much stricter secrecy, and this is also around the time Kakushi are organized.
The young Kamado newlyweds, Sumiyoshi and Suyako, come across Yoriichi's empty former home on Mt. Kumotori (early 1480′s-ish now). It’s a little run down, but they tend to rescue a lot of people who try to pay them back later. As they refuse the money, the people insist on fixing up the house for them. (More specifically, they rescued a Daimyo’s wife and her son who went into hiding in the mountains when they were under attack in a succession dispute.)
The young Kamado couple (including a very pregnant Suyako) is attacked by a demon, but Yoriichi, who happened to be passing through and wanting to stop by the place he lived with Uta, rescues them. Yoriichi is also the one who fetches a midwife (extremely quickly) for Suyako to give birth to Sumire. Shortly after Sumire is born the following day (in early spring), Sumiyoshi already insists that he’ll tell future generations about Yoriichi, but Yoriichi sternly tells Sumiyoshi that he hasn’t been able to save anyone, and not to see him as any kind of special person, and disappears. ***THIS MAY TAKE PLACE LATER.***
Those with marks begin to die off by the age of 25 (according to ancient practices for counting age, this may have put them around age 23 or 24 as we think of it today. This would also have made Yoriichi around age 6 when he beat the retainer and left home). Michikatsu is distraught, and Muzan approaches him, declaring that he is curious about what will happen if he makes a demon out of a Breath user, and giving him the choice to live on forever or die early because of his mark. Michikatsu choses to become a demon, and he maintains a loyal and open relationship under Muzan ever since. This is likely still around mid-1480s, or roughly two years after Yoriichi saves the Kamado family (if this indeed happened in advance).
Shortly after that, Yoriichi encounters Muzan, Muzan declares he no longer has any interest in Breath users (after all, he didn’t master the sun, dang it). Yoriichi feels he was born to defeat this man, delivers a stunning display of Sun Breathing, but the little pieces of Muzan that get away altogether form roughly the size of a head. Tamayo is freed from Muzan's curse and tells Yoriichi as much as she can about Muzan, including that he probably won’t appear again in Yoriichi’s life. Yoriichi lets her go.
Yoriichi is then informed by Corp members (including Rengoku) that Michikatsu has become a demon.
This, in addition to Yoriichi failing to kill Muzan (give him a break, guys) and letting Tamayo go, makes some Corp members demand Yoriichi's suicide to atone, but the 6-year-old Oyakata-sama (whose father is still alive, but likely incapacitated) puts a stop to this. Yoriichi is exiled from the Corp and told to kill his brother. Some members of the Corp (in particular, Rengoku) stay in touch with Yoriichi with Oyakata-sama's tacit permission.
After being kicked out of the Corp, Yoriichi visits Sumiyoshi one fall, wanting to tell someone about his life. After sharing his story, he receives flowers from Sumire, and at Suyako's request, he performs Sun Breathing. Sumiyoshi memorizes it by watching, and promises to pass it down. Yoriichi leaves him with the earrings his mother Akeno gave him, and keeps the toy flute from Michikatsu and a scrap of Uta's kimono.
***It’s also possible Yoriichi’s first visit back to Mt. Kumotori was after explusion from the Corp, and it was after two years of being out on his own that he sought out Sumiyoshi again.***
In 1545-ish, Yoriichi is over 80 years old and finally finds Michikatsu/Kokushibo. Yoriichi barely fails to kill him and Breaths his last. Kokushibo cut the flute in half when cutting Yoriichi's standing corpse, but keeps the pieces with him.
After Yoriichi’s death, Muzan goes on the offense again, eliminating anyone with knowledge of Yoriichi’s Sun Breathing techniques. The Corp is essentially erased for a time, and thereafter, they no longer find themselves as strong as they were in Yoriichi’s time. According the Rengoku records, this is because there was never any teacher as good as Yoriichi after that.
Over two hundred years pass of Muzan trying to find the blue spider lilies or create a demon that can master the sun, and swordsman polishing their Breathing techniques as they slay demons. By this time we can assume most of Muzan's activity is based around the Kanto area in the bustling Edo period. (Fun aside, lots of popular kabuki plays would be developed with themes of demon slayers.  Also, based on his tastes and fashion choices, Muzan likes to be among the affluent and influential people of society.)
Around the later decades of the Edo period, Muzan gets the idea to make the Twelve Moon Demons with a large amount of his blood. Hantengu might had been one of these first experiments, and Akaza, meh, I'm putting his formation any time between 1785 and 1800, put that’s really loose.
Douma's formation was after this (and he probably got busy eating lots and lots and lots of nutritious humans right away) and Gyutaro's still later. All of the Upper Moons were in place by no later than 1802, as they have not been called to the Infinity Fortress all together in 113 years.
My assumption is that once Muzan got the idea, he went around and made the Upper Moons in a very short period of time, and Kokushibo likely already had a lot of Muzan's blood in his "Maybe a Breath user will master the sun" experiment. There isn’t much indication if the Lower Moons were also formed around this time, or if they came later on a second whim.
The following hundred years is full of a cycle of Pillars and the Twelve Moons pit against each other while the common riffraff fight the common riffraff. While the Pillars kill Lower Moons as a rite of passage and they are constantly changed out as openings occur, the unchanged Upper Moons routinely kill and eat Pillars. Even at the bottom rung, Daki has eaten 7 and Gyutaro has eaten 15. For each of those Pillars, at least one Lower Moon or fifty demons has died.
As a point of comparison, the Hand Demon has been a demon for roughly the same amount of time, or a few years longer (he was locked away on Mt. Fujikasane around 1868). Although not granted any special amount of Muzan’s blood like the Lower Moons, it’s nursed a grudge and eaten 50 children (13 of which were Urokodaki’s), surviving and growing much, much powerful than most of the demons on the mountain who had only eaten 2 or 3 humans. On that note, former Lower Moon Kyogai seemed to find it difficult to consume any more humans, and wanted to consume Marechi (rare blood) to achieve the equivalent of eating 50 humans. While Akaza is allowed to be picky and focus on training, I have to wonder if it is generally a difficult part of many demons’ existence to have to consume human flesh.
But I digress.
You know who doesn’t care about that? Muzan.
If we take 1915 as the year Tanjiro’s Final Selection takes place and assumed modern age counting methods as opposed to the standard used until Meiji (which was still often used in Taisho), then Ubuyashiki Kagaya was born around 1892-ish. His father couldn’t take the sorrow of being in that position, so when he committed suicide at the age of 19, Kagaya assumed the role of the 97th generation Oyakata-sama at age 4 (his other siblings, all brothers, had died). He very soon married Himorogi Amane when he was age 13 and she was age 17. While this was her own volition, the Ubuyashiki family has long since married daughters of family closely associated with shrines as any means of trying to use this spiritual influence to lengthen the lives of their offspring. (We may assume Amane served the role of a miko, and she continues to perform daily spiritual ablution to pray for her family’s safety). Of the current Pillars, Kagaya first met Himejima in 1906 at the age of 14. The quintuplets, including Kagaya’s heir Kiriya, would had been born around 1907.
It’s when he’s settled into a husband and (probably step-)father role that he is discovered by a member of the Demon Slayer Corp in 1915, possibly for the first time in roughly four centuries. He makes a clean getaway, but not without those hanafuda earrings freaking him out first.
Muzan is busy being a Tokyo business man (among other things) with interests in foreign language and new contraptions. He is still motivated to discovered all he can about the blue spider lily, which is why he focuses his demons around the Tokyo area. In 1913 he takes a stroll to Mt. Kumotori and snacks on a family out there, tries making one of them into a demon for the heck of it (maybe or maybe not knowing anything about the Kamado lineage), assumes it didn’t work and she died so he forgets about her (giving Nezuko an opportunity to break free of his curse). He finds no blue spider lilies and goes back to Tokyo.
Wanting to get close to business partners, he identifies a high society woman named Rei, kills her husband, and swoops in to be her new lover. At other times, he takes the form of some other power person when it’s convenient, or when he’s juggling multiple identities, like an adopted boy with access to medicinal research or a performer with who can boss humans around to search out the flowers in daytime, he may sometimes leave a piece of his flesh behind to assume his form when he’s busy elsewhere.
And the rest is basically as we see in canon.
Of the Lower Moons, the former Lower Moon 2, Hairou, was a Shinsengumi member, and therefore became a demon sometime between 1863 and 1869. Than means he had been a demon roughly fifty years or less before Rengoku Kyojuro defeated him and became a Pillar.
