“But I had a friend who straightened me out. He pointed me towards optimism and the right path. (...) If Naruto is who you're following... You won't make the same mistakes I did. You'll make a great Hokage. I'm all for it. Don't ever give up, okay?”

I was wondering what are your thoughts about how many children sasuke would have and what are their genders, ages and names. Maybe even their personalities and if they were mama's/daddy's girl/boy ( also, can I be 🐈‍⬛)
That's such a sweet thought, 🐈‍⬛️
I believe the answer to the question, "How many kids would he have?" depends mostly on you. He never thought he would go back to the village, rebuild his district, build a life with you, be loved, and be forgiven for everything. These are normal parts of life that he unlearned due to all his trauma and the war.
Your first child was an accident—him coming back from a mission looking way too good for your liking (and when doesn’t he?), mixed with impatient + your and his horny side and forgetting to check for condoms. You two were usually very careful, and he really thought he could pull out... But honestly, you both got too caught up in the moment to think about anything.
When you got a positive pregnancy test a few months later, he was down for whatever you wanted to do.
Do you want to keep it? Then he's supporting you.
You don't want to keep it? Then he's supporting you.
You were the most important thing in his life. Of course, he was ready to follow whatever you decided. When you chose to go through with the pregnancy, I swear to god, he was ready to build a crib with his own sword if you asked him.
On the outside, he looked calm, but inside, he was terrified. What if he didn't know how to be there for the child and for you? What if he messed this up? He had already broken your heart once by leaving. If he did it again—especially now—you would never look at him the same way. Plus, your friends would kill him for sure.
You two had cats, and they both adored him. That was a good sign, right?
He kept repeating that thought in his mind over and over again while your belly grew. And let me tell you, he was basically a hawk over you. 😮‍💨 He was already overprotective by nature, but seeing you pregnant made it ten times worse. That’s something else to explore later.
When your first boy was born, he was... too stunned to speak. The first Uchiha in years. The first after all the tragedies. He felt like he was holding a new beginning—one that had your nose but his sharp eyes. That’s why he named him Haruki.
Haruki was the spring he never knew he was waiting for.
For the first few days, he was so flabbergasted that you two had created a life together that he wouldn't let the baby out of his sight for even two seconds. How could the same hands that had caused so much bloodshed now hold something so fragile?
I know that in Boruto, he isn’t present in Sarada’s life, and that’s one of the many reasons I pretend that shit doesn’t exist.
Family was everything to Sasuke. After starting a new one, I don’t see him ever leaving their side. If anything, he was afraid—afraid that leaving would mean losing everything again.
He only started accepting missions again when Haruki was about five months old, and even then, he never took assignments that would keep him away for more than a week. I feel like every time he came back, he had this heavy feeling in his chest—this fear of opening the door and finding you and the baby gone, just like when he had come home from school and found his parents dead. That image would forever live in his mind. But the fear disappeared the moment he slid the door open and heard a small voice scream, "Papa!!" before little feet raced toward him, and you greeted him with a kiss.
Is your son a mama’s boy or a daddy’s boy? That’s hard to say. He follows Sasuke everywhere, yes. He’s observant, just like his father, so he picks up on things quickly and mimics everything he does—including protecting Mama at all costs. But he isn’t quiet... at all. Put this boy and Naruto in a room together, and they could destroy it. His observant side made him curious and adventurous. Plus, he wanted to be brave and strong like his father.
When Haruki was around five years old, you started thinking about having another child. After many conversations and making sure you were financially stable, you gave birth to a girl... more like a carbon copy of your husband. 😭 She literally got nothing from you. Nothing. Your genes didn’t even put up a fight this time.
And after seeing you suffer through childbirth a second time? Never again. 🫡 Not even if you begged him for another one. He couldn't watch you cry in pain like that a third time.
Miyuki wasn’t just Sasuke’s copy in appearance, she had his personality too. While Haruki was talkative, loved playing with his uncle Naruto, and ran around giving you and Sasuke heart attacks, Miyuki was different. There was no doubt, she was a daddy’s girl. She was more shy, especially around people she didn’t know, and clung to him constantly. Sometimes, you swore they could read each other’s thoughts. Sasuke didn’t talk much, Miyuki didn’t either, but somehow, he always knew exactly what she wanted and needed.

Thinking about how Kakashi used to ignore Gai at first but then slowly noticed how determined and strong willed he is which made him get curious about gai and start to pay more attention. Then in academy days he accepted being guy's eternal rival and had defended + comforted him when he was getting bullied over his father as well as when he lost his dad as kakashi called Dai " the coolest ninja he knows", he cared about Gai's well being.
The withdrawal in anbu era most likely from both trauma and Kakashi being scared of letting gai in since he thought he lost everyone who was close with him. He didn't want to lose gai too. Tho he saw all of Gai's efforts of trying to break his walls and be there for him which led to Kakashi returning to Gai as an open and loyal friend the way he was for him when Kakashi was losing himself. Kakashi also told him not to use the 8th Gate which would cost Gai his life and Kakashi losing him even if it was necessary to win the war, I love that Gai held it off till the last moment and saved Kakashi for one last time before using it to fight Madara 😭.
Gai also knew kakashi wasn't really " keen on living" during the Root, and he always make sure to remind Kakashi that he always want him by his side, he matters to Gai so much🥹
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As much he would deny Kakashi loves his company because he forgets all about the darkness of the world when he is with Gai and he definitely feels safe with him cause if he tries to save everyone, who is going to save him? He also said he slept without nightmares that night they slept together. I also think Gai brings out his inner child who got lost after the death of his father and his team and lets Kakashi act carefree with him which is very fun to witness 🥹💜
Tumblr media
We see him much more emotionally open with Guy in boruto, like crying in front of him over his favorite novel, imagine younger Kakashi doing that lol. I love that he gives Gai those soft looks full of care, admiration and love. Gai has lost his father when he was young like Kakashi and also lost one of his students as well as his physical ability and Kakashi knows how hard it is for him since he can relate to that and even informs others that Gai has things he is sensitive over too. I also believe having similar painful experiences makes them understand each other better and be closer.
Tumblr media
He also would throw his logic out of the window if he had any chance to heal Guy and make his life better.
Tumblr media
In Stories of Konoha I just absolutely adore how Kakashi treats Gai, he is worried about him but that doesn't make him see Gai any differently, treat him like he is weak or anything, he does the quite the opposite and supports him. It is love, it doesn't have to be romantic but it is there and that's what matters🥰
In conclusion, we dont need to see them confess or kiss to know they love each other. Kakashi and Gai just have pure love between them💚

The big answer for some questions from ss stans who state that Sasuke would always choose Sakura over Naruto and Retsuden is the proof…. Guys Retsuden is not and never will be canon because firstly Kishimoto did not write it, secondly Eska said it is her interpretation, thirdly it has Kishimoto’s name and art on it because Naruto was created by him and he has a contract that states he have to draw cover etc. and lastly the story of Retsuden contradicts itself with what Kishimoto wrote.
In Naruto manga we have many instances where Sasuke always chooses Naruto over Sakura. The war arc is the best example: he let her fall into lava, he wanted to left her when the bomb was going off, he did not want to save her from Kaguya and through out the manga he always said to her that it is not her business but he always engages Naruto into his life. Of course I understand that ss stans will say that he was into darkness blah blah but so what? Why would he choose Naruto then if he was into darkness? Come up with something more creative please.
Tumblr media
Bless Kishi that he wrote Gaiden because there we even find more proof that Sasuke will always choose Naruto over his wife. This is Sasuke’s face after 12 years of not seeing Sakura. He is not happy at all, kind of annoyed or angry even.
Tumblr media
This is Sasuke’s face when he stops Sakura from apologizing and in that moment he wanted to tell the truth why he does not come home. His face looks here really angry and Sakura looks worried. Why is she worried? because Sasuke would say the hard truth right there because he is honest.
Tumblr media
This is Sasuke when Sakura was captured. Sarada is more worried than her own father, husband of her mom. Instead he is talking about time space ninjutsu…. He did not even want to sense her and she was taken somewhere on Earth.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And here is Sasuke when Naruto was attacked. Sasuke knows that Naruto can heal right away but look at the horror on his face. Ss will say that he does not worry about Sakura because she is strong but that is not the case because even if someone is strong but if you love them you will always worry about them because of these feelings.
Tumblr media
In Boruto movie which was written by Kishi, Sasuke sensed Naruto’s chakra in the other dimension right away and went to save him as fast as possible. He even gave him support by touching his back while with Sakura he asked if she can heal herself. Great support and his face 😂
Tumblr media
Lastly, you base everything on the novels but in the novel after Retsuden Sasuke wanted to die with Naruto and was so ready to leave Sakura but then you will say it is not canon 😂 So yeah Sasuke will always choose Naruto. Always because he is his one and only. That is why Kishi wrote Gaiden because every non canon trash that comes out about SS will always be massacred by it. Kishi is genius.

Now it's Boruto fans who annoy sns fans because they have free time. They actually compete against NH and SS fans to see who's the most annoying
" They say Borusara is a heterosexual version of their gay relationship. Why is it? It's a cheap shipp taken from Walmart of sns
It's not like Kishimoto didn't call Sarada "Female version of Sasuke" and she doesn't have any traits from her mother, just like Boruto is called a second Naruto and compared to him and likewise he has nothing of his mother
Naruto and Sasuke connect because they both don't have parents, Sarada and Boruto connect because they both suffer from the abandonment of their parents
It was played with that Boruto and Sarada are a kind of "rivals" in the anime, There was also a kiss scene that if I'm not mistaken didn't happen because Sarada stopped Boruto, right?
In the manga, Boruto supports Sarada's wishes to be Hokage and then it is obvious that he will become a shadow hokage like Sasuke lol
Tumblr media
" They say that if Sasuke were a woman, they would both end up together" and that's how it is lol, not for nothing for years these men loved the fantasy that Sasuke was a woman and Naruto would end up with her, There are fanarts, and romantic tropes from social media are used for heterosexual couples because they can't stand two men using it
I agree that Borusara is not the same as sns in some parts, for example on Boruto's part there is not much that is genuine beyond protecting Sarada because I don't know, is she his friend?
Sarada, every time they say that if she likes some form of Boruto, she gets upset because until now there was no more beyond, But well, there are some blushes that can easily be due to embarrassment
Unlike sns, Sarada does call Boruto brother, she is described as a female Sasuke, but we never saw Sasuke call Naruto brother
Tumblr media Tumblr media
if for these guys Naruto/Sasuke are brothers because of the Martians who marked their paths, then it makes Sarada/Boruto distant cousins
If the Borusara relationship progresses, why would that be? I already know, because they steal the tropes from sns
Sarada wants to be Hokage, and as a savior she won't kill her childhood best friend even if he is a traitor to the world, because she loves him
boruto automatically becomes a Sasuke 2.0 and is a traitor, but he continues to be attentive to his best friend and trusts her after many years of not seeing her, and now, even though he's a rival to everyone, he protects Konoha, holy god, isn't this a sasuke?
Tumblr media
All this shit has already been done and that's why borusara is boring because they have to steal from sns to be something
"While Sasuke and Naruto were rivals who wanted to kill each other" Naruto didn't want to kill Sasuke, he wanted to protect him and get them out of the darkness. You see how they don't even know how to read the manga but they still want to have an opinion?
Sasuke wanted to kill Naruto because he was the only person he had left who gave him love besides Itachi, his one and only, the only one who didn't leave him alone Sasuke couldn't bear those feelings and to become "stronger" he had to kill him. But, ask, is that achieved? Nah, in the end, Sasuke can't kill him because he loves Naruto and would suffer all his life without its existence
Naruto and Sasuke were also childhood best friends, they both loved each other and showed mutual support for each other, their separations are due to third parties and among them villains who played with sasuke's mental health
something that is almost similar to what Boruto was having, he is separated by third parties from his friends and specifically from Sarada
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I can see the similarities" if that's why you put together a straight couple that steals the tropes of a gay couple and you support their ass just because they're straight even though it's a boring ship, and no, we didn't change anything, it was kishimoto who made sarada a "female sasuke" with naruto ideals and boruto a "second Naruto" but with sasuke ideals and dressed like him
denying that even now straight couples use sns as a trope is crazy because then you shouldn't be pairing matsuri/konohamaru
you can lump Borusara all you want, but get sns out of your homophobic mouth.

I need y'all to stop with these stupid parallels between Sasuke and Kushina. Some of you are dumb enough to take kushina's line about finding someone like her literally and make non-existent parallels between her and sasuke. They are not alike, either in appearance or storyline. The only person who looks like Kushina is, surprise surprise, her own son. The only parallels Kishimoto deliberately drew are those between Kushina and Naruto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I don't think I need to explain this, but since Naruto is basically a second kushina, he needs someone like minato - calm, collected, sensible - someone who balances him out.
If you want a het ship to parallel SNS with, then take Borusara. Sarada has the looks of Sasuke but parallels Naruto in plot and relationship with Boruto, while Boruto looks like Naruto but parallels Sasuke. Borusara is the only ship that was made to parallel sns, but you all prefer to compare Naruto's mother to Sasuke and make delusional analyses.
Boruto is a nukenin who is hated by the whole village, and Sarada is the one who still loves and supports him. Boruto wants to be by Sarada's side when she becomes hokage and protect her. Doesn't this remind you of someone else?

i know it's been 10 years since naruto ended in ch 700, and  7 years since naruto gaiden was released, but i still had heart broken about fact that sasuke and sakura married, husband and wife (as kishi write in gaiden)
i realize they're just fictional characters and i shouldn't had this burden inside, but seeing my sasuke marry sakura (in general, and specialy bcs i hope sasuke and naruto could be endgame or just an open ending) i can't accept it.
this is the ask, can you give me an advice? how to endure or help myself out from this thing?
imagining myself infront of sasusaku shipper saying "your narusasu is not canon! sasuke married our cherry blossom, he loves her, and they have kid" make me want to punch their face.
thank you for your consideration.. i think i really need help :")
Hello anon!
Well tbh I wouldn't take "canon" when it comes to ships too serious because Kishimoto didn't develop them or make them romantic or anything. What I'm trying to say is that usually when a ship becomes canon it leaves way for romantic moments, family moments and all that but that's not what Kishimoto did or allowed so there's no reason to feel down when you remember something like SS became canon because in their case it simply means they had a child and call each other wife/husband and that's it.
Just remember that Sasuke has never kissed Sakura, the only kiss he's ever received and treasures with his whole being to the point he's never allowed anyone else to kiss him, not even his wife, is from Naruto. This is canon.
Remember that Sasuke doesn't allow Sakura to touch him, Sakura doesn't have a wedding ring, we've never seen anything regarding their supposed wedding (did they even have one? even NH got a wedding) or any pictures of herself and Sasuke to the point she had to stick herself onto another picture, Sakura also continues not to know shit about Sasuke and it's Naruto who has to reassure Sarada and basically fulfill the role that usually belongs to the mom. This is all canon.
Sasuke doesn't care if Sakura lives or dies but gets scared shitless when Naruto is wounded and runs to his aid, her stans will try to tell you it's because "he knows how strong Sakura is" conviniently omitting that Naruto is the strongest ninja to ever live giving Sasuke even less reasons to worry about him and yet he does, but when it comes to his wife is crickets. This is also canon.
There's also the fact that Sasuke would rather spend his time training and basically raising Boruto, Naruto's child instead of spending it with Sarada, Sakura's child. It got to the point Sarada had to teach herself about the Uchiha clan from a book because Sasuke wouldn't give her the time of the day lol.
Sasuke goes zero contact with Sakura for years yet sends letters and has secret meetings often with Naruto. Why feel down or threatened by SS being "canon" when Kishimoto is still feeding *us* the narusasu shippers?
SS shippers have to resort to "they're married and they have a kid" because that's all they have, anytime they'd try to prove to anyone that those two are in love they *always* have to pull up filler because nothing in canon material supports the notion that Sasuke loves Sakura. They're so incredibly insecure that even though it's been over a decade since Naruto ended they still come to harrass us specifically because they know, deep down, it's our ship the one that's developed, it's our ship the one that Kishimoto spent 15 years writing about, it's our ship that the entire manga revolves around. That's why they have to resort to "you're shipping pseudo-incest" hoping this narrative will stick and yet they always end up crying and throwing up everytime official art comes out and it's unapologetically narusasu art (like the one of Naruto and Sasuke laying happily on the grass or the cards where Sasuke is imagining himself and Naruto having a playdate).
Endgame doesn't really mean shit if all you have is a miserable marriage and a neglected kid. You, anon, have the upper hand here, you know that Sasuke has feelings for Naruto and that love is reciprocated, SS and NH can't say the same that's why after a whole ass decade they're always frantically trying to convince everyone their mid ships are worth a damn.

Dissecting Naruto’s Ending in Good Faith
Let's consider the possibility that Kishimoto's ending was deliberate—that things ended how they should've, and some plots weren't mistakes (looking at you, Kaguya).
Okay, hear me out. By assuming this, we can explore the series with a good-faith reading. Recently, I’ve been reflecting on the series as an adult, and it’s shaken up many of my beliefs and perceptions—it's somewhat distressing, so I’ve been processing all this in therapy too, and coming to key conclusions. I think It's crucial to understand the motivations behind Kishimoto's choices, not just within the Narutoverse but also within the Kishiverse. Why did he make the decisions he did?
Why did he suddenly introduce reincarnations and fate? Aliens? Why the couples that seemingly came out of nowhere? Why doesn't Naruto quite change the system, or help the Hyugas? The final arc, overall, just seemed quite jarring, with some plots (like fate) seemingly subverting the message of the series.
I wonder, then, if Kishimoto's ending shows more of a realistic world rather than an idealized one. Reality often unfolds messily and sadly, devoid of perfect resolutions. Whether intentional or not, Kishimoto's storytelling may reflect his acknowledgment of the imperfect nature of existence. His reality bleeds into his creation, and he's subject to the same harsh realities his characters face.
Fate, Justice, and Change
In this unideal depiction, Naruto and Sasuke's actions are tied to fate rather than free will, Sasuke doesn't achieve his revolution, Naruto doesn't dismantle the shinobi system, and both end up in marriages that seem sudden and unsatisfactory.
If Kishimoto indeed intended this, why? Well, change often takes time, and sometimes change doesn’t even happen at all. People can become tired of fighting for a cause in certain ways, and settle for smaller victories. Relationships may not always align with desires, leading to compromises for convenience.
It's intriguing that Kishimoto explores themes of defying fate while ultimately making Naruto destined to save the world anyway. By making even the protagonists constrained by destiny, Kishimoto echoes historical cycles of rise and fall. Perhaps there's something inevitable about human love and hatred. We can begin to see Kishimoto's philosophical musings on how the universe came to be—the First Cause theory, that there's a divine Creator behind the universe. Or, perhaps, no matter the circumstances or our destinies, we must try to make our own decisions.
And, Sasuke's lack of revolution may not be a complete surrender. He doesn't fully support the system, remaining detached from the bureaucratic and familial norms by traveling. He pursues justice by roaming the world as a vagabond, championing justice as a vigilante. Sasuke has never been one to adhere strictly to Konoha's rules; he eschews the headband and prioritizes loyalty to his morals and loved ones. His rebellion does not manifest as he initially envisioned because his youthful idealism inevitably wanes. But this doesn’t take away from his fight, because Kishimoto portrays him as insightful and intelligent, showing that Sasuke can recognize the pragmatic benefits of partial conformity. He forever remains committed to his pursuit of justice by traveling and aiding others. Thus, his true surrender lies in acknowledging that he can be loved without compromising his strength, refuting the notion of love as a weakness.
As for Naruto, he isn't ignorant—he does comprehend the situation fully, sharing a deep understanding with Sasuke that transcends words (“I know your heart, and you mine” telepathic conversations). While it doesn't seem like much has changed, the events in Boruto unfold merely two decades after Naruto's era, a short span in historical terms. Significant societal transformations typically require centuries, not mere decades. Nevertheless, Naruto succeeds in establishing an era of peace, which Kishimoto shows through the relatively low stakes in Boruto. And when there are threats, they often manifest on a cosmic scale involving gods and extraterrestrial beings. While Naruto and Sasuke have brokered peace among nations, they acknowledge the inevitability of conflicts and warfare. Naruto's focus shifts towards fortifying the system itself, striving for safety within the constraints of reality.
Unexpected and Reluctant Couples
To thoroughly analyze the series, we must also examine the role of romance, as Kishimoto's introduction of romantic pairings significantly impacts plot themes, character development, and motivations. Whether we embrace it or not, these pairings alter the essence of characters in ways previously unseen.
In the canon material (manga and anime main story only), Sasuke and Naruto exhibit no romantic interest in Sakura and Hinata throughout the series. In fact, neither actively pursues romance in general. Sasuke states as such to Kakashi, and Naruto tells Jiraiya he’s not interested in girls. While Naruto initially does have feelings for Sakura, he eventually relinquishes them. Both protagonists prioritize their ideological missions above all else, with exceptions made for their friendship with each other. Sasuke, for instance, abandons his vendetta against Itachi when he sacrifices himself for Naruto in the Land of Waves, while Naruto is willing to forsake his dream of becoming Hokage to die to save Sasuke from loneliness and hatred.
So, how does Kishimoto portray their eventual marriages? Sakura pursues Sasuke persistently, repeatedly confessing her feelings until he ultimately relents and agrees to a family life with her. Meanwhile, Naruto displays no romantic interest in Hinata, even disregarding her confession during the battle with Pain. When he eventually marries her and starts a family, it feels contrived and dispassionate, a jarring image contrasting the boisterous Naruto we know. These relationships seem to emerge out of duty and resignation rather than genuine affection. Both Sasuke and Naruto appear worn down by their wives' persistence, leading them to reluctantly accept their marriages.
These couples have sparked considerable debate within the fandom, and rightly so, because they are not healthy or truly romantic relationships; rather, the depiction reflects the harsh realities of many real-life relationships. Kishimoto portrays Naruto and Sasuke's marriages with little prior development; perhaps a deliberate narrative choice rather than an oversight, highlighting their dissatisfaction through their roles as absentee fathers.
And in terms of specifics, Naruto's marriage seems to revolve more around Hinata than anything else. Consider this: why is Naruto portrayed as uncharacteristically serious and subdued when interacting with Hinata? Even during the pivotal moment when he finally confesses his love to her, his demeanor remains stoic and solemn. Where is the goofy and expressive Naruto we know and love? Additionally, why does Kishimoto include comments from other characters urging Naruto to "treat her well"? Because Naruto's marriage is not primarily about him; Hinata simply happened to be there, and it’s his duty to follow up on that.
And for Sasuke, why do we see panels like the family dinner in Boruto where Sasuke appears utterly miserable? Why is Sasuke never around? Why didn’t Kishimoto even give them a kiss scene? Why does Sasuke mostly display emotions when he's engaged in combat or interacting with Naruto? It's because Sasuke finds purpose and vitality in fighting for his beliefs, and Naruto is the only character depicted by Kishimoto who truly understands Sasuke's innermost thoughts and feelings. Sakura doesn't get Sasuke's essence. Isn't a marriage supposed to be built on true understanding, and progression?
One way we can see it is, Kishimoto, as an artist, is deliberate with his drawings, and these details are not mistakes. Canonically, both Sasuke and Naruto are depicted as tired or subdued in their relationships. Despite Kishimoto drawing them blushing in various situations before, neither of them ever exhibits such reactions when interacting with their wives. This deliberate choice by Kishimoto, despite them being his beloved main characters, shows that Sasuke and Naruto are not in love with Sakura and Hinata.
Love and (lack of) Romance
Sasuke and Naruto are not portrayed as romantic individuals; rather, they are depicted as traumatized fighters and idealists driven by a desire to change the world.
Kishimoto remains true to this characterization throughout the series, extending into Boruto. While Naruto is largely a series about love, it's not focused on romantic love. Instead, it delves into the concept of transcendent love and optimism amidst adversity, encompassing love found in seeking revenge, striving to change the world, and fostering bonds of friendship and loyalty. The relationship between Naruto and Sasuke is the one Kishimoto gives the most development to in the series, and embodies nuances of love, rivalry, loyalty, and compromise. This love isn’t necessarily romantic, but it can also be anything because it is transcendent love. This part is up to you to decide and I believe doesn’t take away from their story either way.
Another question that arises is, does Kishimoto really just suck at writing romance? Well, not really. He’s demonstrated his ability to craft compelling romances, such as those between Minato and Kushina, and Asuma and Kurenai. However, he chose not to apply this to Naruto and Hinata or Sasuke and Sakura. Although, he does show that Sasuke cares for Karin at one point, even awakening a new power for her, but takes it back as their relationship ultimately falls victim to Sasuke's madness at the time (although I believe this relationship, along with Naruto x Sasuke, can tentatively be argued for, but I digress for now).
These decisions reflect 1) the fact that Naruto and Sasuke's characters are not about romantic love; their goals and convictions for justice are prioritized above all else 2) Hinata and Sakura are not The Ones for them. Thus, their seemingly unhappy relationships serve as a reflection of their de-prioritization of romantic love in favor of their greater missions.
Further, realistically, people don't always end up with their ideal partners. Many people settle in relationships because they desire families or because they are pursued by others, rather than actively seeking out their soulmates. Kishimoto chooses to depict Naruto and Sasuke with a lack of emotional expression with their respective spouses. Even in the presence of their own children, Naruto and Sasuke are not depicted with joyful expressions, suggesting a lack of fulfillment in their familial roles.
The Whitepill
Ultimately, the way things turned out seems disheartening at first because shows are meant to inspire and provide an escape from reality. Throughout the series, Kishimoto led us to believe in the possibility of an ideal ending, where change is attainable and love conquers all.
But, Kishimoto's decision to depict Naruto and Sasuke's inability to achieve 100% of what we desire is, in fact, profound. The truth is, we can't always get exactly what we want, but we can make small compromises and strive for justice in whatever ways we can. This struggle is something humanity has faced throughout its history. Our world is far from ideal. But, we are still able to achieve bits of justice in ways we can; we get just enough to keep us going, to leave us with the thirst for more.
Perhaps Kishimoto portrays Sasuke's surrender not because he believes Naruto is unequivocally right, but because Sasuke wants to choose love, and is inherently kind and idealistic. He cares deeply about his friend and desires to see positive change in the world. Sasuke's journey leads him to become a protector of not just Konoha, but all villages, reflecting his compassion for people everywhere.
Similarly, Kishimoto may depict Naruto continuing on as part of the existing system not because Naruto is complacent, but because he's someone who seeks to work within established frameworks rather than tearing them down completely. This approach doesn't diminish Naruto's convictions or his commitment to change; rather, it reflects his pragmatic approach to achieving his goals while minimizing disruption.
Naruto and Sasuke's best efforts serve as inspiration for us to take up the mantle and continue the fight.
Ideal World and Optimism
Despite this, Naruto’s ending does not really make sense in an ideal world. In an ideal world, there would be a more perfect compromise, we wouldn't be bound by our fate, and the oppressive shinobi system would be dismantled. Naruto and Sasuke would have more time to heal and explore the world alone, and eventually find fulfillment in their love lives; Sasuke would find someone who truly understands him, while Naruto would enjoy a relationship where he can be his true, expressive self. Sakura would be able to move past her childhood infatuation and grow personally, while Hinata would gain confidence and develop her own identity.
Therefore, reading from a purely Narutoverse standpoint, the issues I mentioned do, in fact, undermine the themes and relationships built over the course of the narrative. Maybe Kishimoto fumbled after all, and Boruto sucks, and is simply a cash grab. Or, he intentionally wanted to troll us—suddenly breaking all conventional storytelling rules is suspicious, right?
Perhaps what really happened is a mix of all these things. While there are many external influences that led to this bleak ending, Kishimoto's intentions surely play a vital role.
Regardless, Kishimoto's big mistake is being too subtle and abrupt in introducing the new concepts at the end. However, in doing so, he has successfully sparked ongoing disagreement and discourse that persists even a decade after the series concluded.
In this sense, he has effectively brought attention to the messages: make love, not war; seek change, not complacency; and find The One, don’t settle. And even if I’m wrong in everything and this whole essay is just a copium, it's a lot better to believe in my ideals than to accept defeat. Because, Naruto taught me one invaluable lesson—no matter the odds, never give up.

I have to say this right now…Sarada writing is sooo horrible..honestly she’s like a sakura 2.0 where she’s being obsessive and being a damsel and distress. I used to be a fan of her during 2020 and a borusara shipper, but NOPE! Can’t do it, like of course boruto had to be like the next sasuke and inherit some of his abilities unlike sarada so she has to get “saved” by him multiple times! And it’s annoying that how they written for sarada to be so hyper fixated and obsessive with boruto and what I mean is by this..
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sarada was going to let everyone die and get brutally beaten! But no…she doesn’t even use her sharingan/MS until yodo mentions about boruto! And this is the girl y’all like? The same girl who costed boruto eye?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Borusara shippers: “oh but he did it out of love for her”
HELL NO! He had to cause she was going to get hurt! Literally shikamaru and sumire tried to stop her, yet she went anyways and maybe if she had her sharingan on then maybe boruto wouldn’t lost his eye! This girl has a habit of doing that and that’s why she gets attacked bc she’s lowering her guard, If sumire knew how boruto lost his eye, she’ll be damned as much as I was!..The fact boruto made that promise to protect her yet was going to let her go on a mission alone until mitsuki had to convince him!
Like I said she’s obsessive…
Tumblr media
She doesn’t think or do anything until boruto thinks about it or unless he gets brought up..like how are you trying to be hokage if you can’t even protect the ones around you or even yourself?! But look at Naruto he’s isn’t doing that , he cares about the others around him and yet Naruto is her “idol” girl sarada take notes!
I hate how sarada and sumire friendship is being written! And it has to be for some shipping war/ drama bait… it’s completely one sided, the many times sumire be considered and supportive of sarada for the past 3 years… sumire was being supportive and asked sarada if she was okay!…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But do we get the same from sarada? NO!
Tumblr media
You see how there was NO REACTION! Not even a reaction about what happened to her own father!
Tumblr media
But she sure can remember what sumire said basically some stupid disagreement over a boy! Which is good bc she needs to remember what sumire says…bc yall toxic BSA shippers and sarada Stan’s think sumire is wrong! Nope the chapter debunked it!
Tumblr media
So mind you this only allow 10 images per post but mind you sumire reaction was valid, sarada been inconsiderate so many times yall can’t even get that through yall head! Sarada “KNOWS” that sumire likes boruto and so many of their mutual friends was aware, but did sarada try to acknowledge it or confront it? NO!
And like I said I thought sarada was going to be badass,I mean come on her parents are sakura and sasuke uchiha…but no..she’s a damsel in destress, inconsiderate, selfish being, obsessed over boruto like sakura was over sasuke.. and I HATE the fact that her jacket was from the same brand that boruto gotten his so ig she could cope with her difficult feelings (not romantic) about boruto to the point it’s creepy and weird! It would’ve been better off if her jacket represents itachi akatsuki cloak since in the beginning she do know that her father was a rouge ninja in the past so….

I wonder where the claim "Hinata is the one who understands Naruto the most/the best" comes from. I've seen many Hinata/Naruhina say that... and I know the need to make Hinata more important in Naruto's life/manga definitely plays a role in it. But still, Hinata is never allowed to understand him outside of the vision she has of him in the beginning of the manga.
In the chunin exams, we are told by Hinata that she identifies with him because like her, he's considered like a loser. But, she also admires him because he never gives up and constantly tries to better himself. And that's her inspiration. So, I'm going to make something clear there, that's not something very special to her. Basically, Lee could tell from a few interactions that Naruto was seen as a loser and he refused to be looked down. Something he can also understand quite well, since he's in a similar (even worse) situation.
But what did she understand outside of it ? That he doesn't abandon his friends ? Yes thank you, it's made clear by Naruto and the narrative to e v e r y o n e (from Obito to the Konoha 11 to every unnamed shinobi) during the war arc. Is it this scene where she says to Naruto that she can recognises him because of his eyes the cement of this claim ? I'm sorry, but I need more than that.
Hinata likes the bright side, his never give up attitude, his smile and well (idk) his kindness towards her (I think ?). But that's all she sees/understands. (You're free to interprete it the way you want. I just state what everyone would see with open eyes.)
When did she get his loneliness ? It's basically Sasuke's role, not Hinata. What about his struggles as a jinchuriki ? Enter Gaara and Killer B. His teammates (yes Sakura and Kakashi) are actually allowed to witness it, to see a bit of the horror that he's going throught because of his status.
Maybe his need to save Sasuke, the importance of their bond in his life ? Yeah sorry, but Sai did more efforts than her to understand the love Naruto has for Sasuke and Sai is said to be ignorant of feelings. When the Konoha 11 confront Naruto about it at the end of the Kage summit arc, she doesn't even question him. But her teammate Kiba does. Neji does, who is also allowed to support Naruto's need to save Sasuke in part 1.
Oh well, maybe she understands how depressed he was after Jiraiya death ? It was Shikamaru's role, not Hinata's. And Iruka was the other one who tried to console him. In this part of the arc, she's nowhere to be seen. I will not continue more, but I'm sure there's more examples of it.
So now, I'm asking again... where does this claim come from ? Because the Naruto's manga doesn't give the answer and neither Boruto. In the Boruto's movie, it's Sasuke who talks about Naruto's struggles as a child to Boruto, not Hinata (his mother). I know the anime tried with the "Naruto was a problem child... But I always thought he was cool" or something along those lines with Hinata, but that's kinda... shallow ?

No one will convince me otherwise, but when Boruto made her a promise on the Hokage Rock, he made her fall in love with him completely and irrevocably. That day, she unconsciously wanted to become the same support for him that he promised to be for her.

How Sasuke helps you deal with grief or loss ::
Though Sasuke is not much of a talker, he knows what it means to be there and might become silent support. He would just be there, beside you, providing support without speaking. Just his presence would be a comfort in letting you know you are not alone in your grief.
He would become more protective of you, making sure you were comfortable. That could mean staying home with you or going with you to places more often where you go.
Sasuke isn't much of a talker himself, but if you felt like talking about your feelings, he would listen patiently. Even though he sometimes doesn't know what to say, he at least would be sympathetic and nonsilent.
Sasuke would most likely show it through actions. Perhaps he might pick up some of the duties or chores that you are having a hard time doing so that you may have more time to grieve and less worry. He dislikes it when he sees you stressed, thus he doesn't want to see you stressed out.
He would tell you that he believes you have the ability to get over the loss that you are in by sharing the experiences that you both share, or in some cases subtly telling you to keep going. It would remind you about your strength and perseverance.
Sasuke would, of course hold you right close to him, not in the open (obviously he is a man of tradition and privacy) he knows his presence is a comfort to you and he will use this help you get by whatever sadness you hold inside.
How you help Sasuke deal with grief or loss ::
You would have to understand that Sasuke might not be ready to talk about his grief immediately. Giving him space while still being present and available for him is crucial. As much as he wouldn't want to admit it, he doesn't want to be alone, he needs your presence to feel that you are still with him.
Giving him some gentle encouragement. Encouraging Sasuke to express his feelings, even if it's through non-verbal means like training together or simply sitting in silence, can help him process his emotions as long as your with him. He understand so much more because he has you to think about, he loves you after all.
Giving him patience and reassurance, letting Sasuke know that it's okay to feel vulnerable. Reassuring him that they are there for him, no matter what, can help him feel less isolated. Maybe resting on your shared bed or couch, having his body laze on top of yours as you run your fingers through his hair will help sooth him.
That follows into small acts of kindness, like cooking his favorite meal, leaving him thoughtful notes, or simply holding his hand, can make a big difference. These actions show that you care and are thinking about him, even when words aren't enough.

I keep having these thoughts: would Sasuke have had a child with Karin or anyone else? He wouldn't have been gone for say years. I always think about it with Boruto, who looks like a son of Naruto and Sasuke. Some time ago I was browsing the Pinterest app. I found an illustration where Boruto was wearing a shirt similar to the one Sasuke wore in the chunin exams, and where he was calmly walking around until he apparently met Sasuke in the village. Boruto got excited, called him dad, and Sasuke, upon seeing him, also got excited and said, “Dad's home.” Boruto stretched out his arms to hug him. To all sensible fans, Sasuke's real son is Boruto.
If he would choose Karin they would probably have a child just like with Sakura but I do not think that Kishi would be so shady towards sk like towards ss in Gaiden. If Sasuke married a person who he really loves (Naruto) he would be a great husband. We can see how he acts towards Naruto, how they keep in contact, see each other, are soft to each other and bicker like an old married couple. We can also see how he behaves towards Boruto. He treats him better than his own child, trains him, talks with him, is supportive and he even left the village with him when almost everyone turned against him. He did not bat an eye about leaving Sarada and Sakura at all. This just proves that he would be a great husband and father but only if he was with someone that he truly loves.

whyyy do ppl hate naruhina Soo much the haters main reason is that “it’s forced”
and the SAME thing for Sasuhina like to me I can kinda see the vision here like the haters main reason is that “they don’t talk” like okay?! So did Naruto and hinata like they really haven’t talked as much but hey they still gotten closer am I right? Soooo like I don’t get what’s the big deal? And they use the same excuse for Borusumi is that “they don’t talk” or “they don’t have much dynamics than borusara” or “they don’t make sense” or mainly “they aren’t close”
like okay?! LOOK AT NARUTO AND SAKURA they were close but look where did he end up with? Like of course they are close bc they are teammates and so is boruto and sarada like just bc they are “close” don’t mean boruto possible might not end up with sumire like I don’t understand those excuses like sasuke and hinata do have some things in common when it comes to their family background that plays part of their story. Like it also make not sense on how ppl dislike Narusasu like I don’t like it much either but dang they sure are haters but LOVEEE borusara?! Like it’s literally sasuke and Naruto together if sasuke was a girl?! But really got me messed up is that “Narusaku makes more sense” but how do they make more sense than naruhina like I can see why but at the same time it’s a no like they are bound to be teammates and friends
Cause those haters are Sakura and NaruSaku fans who feel insecure and hate Hinata cause they see her as having stolen Naruto who they see as Sakura's trophy.
NaruHina was never forced anyone with reading comprehension knew it was ends game as soon as Hinata was introduced. Hinata was always the love interest heroine her feelings for Naruto were made clear from the start and she perfectly filled the heroine role when she uplifted Naruto with her proud failure speech.
Whenever Naruto starts doubting himself its Hinata who supports him and makes sure he doesn't go back on his ninja way.
NaruHina don't have many panels together, but the ones they do are impactful and important showing just how much of a positive effect they have on each other. You can also tell with NaruHina that the way they interact with each other even in part is different to how they are with anyone else.
Its the same with BoruSumi they want BoruSara to happen to use the ship to justify that NaruSaku should of happened and to use as a trophy to make Sakura look better. When Boruto and Sumire did talk you can see the impact she had on him, plus there is an entire anime arc where Boruto saves her not to mention its quite clear they have chemistry in both the anime and manga.
BoruSara on the other hand is a train wreak Boruto lost an eye cause of her stupidity. As friends and teammates they work, but even then a lot of negative where its pretty obvious if they weren't teammates they wouldn't be that close. They don't work as lovers their dynamics aren't positive, but rather negative. It was the same with Naruto and Sakura they work as teammates and friends, but their dynamics and effect on each other are more negative in nature hence why they never happened. The ships don't work unless you completely change their characters and if that's the case it only proves they aren't meant to be.
