I have finally FINALLY got up to the dream scene at the start of the last mabelcorn in kmky and everything is flowing nicely finally, and the scenes and characterisation all are smooth and make sense and I am no longer going over the same establishing scenes like a pedant trying to make them perfect. SUCCESS!

Just have to knock out these next few bits then it's onto unicorn beatdowns, funny hats, pizza parties and loophole heists!

#i am so relieved #i feel a lot happier writing now that im happy with those establishing scenes #they didnt pan out how i originally planned but i think theyre better for it #i kept wanting to make bill and py fight but thats just not what they want to do #and das flavor pups have downgraded themselves from terrifying imposition to mild annoyance with potential for drama down the line #but these things will make everything else make better sense so i dont mind the bits i scrapped #now im cackling to myself writing out the dream scene and yes it will diverge slightly from how it panned out in the show!#because why the hell not #i also have been inundated with ideas for a sequel so im steadily noting down dialogue lines and ideas i want to see #and hopefully i stay on task and don't get too distracted by sequel daydreams #it'll be good tho when it gets there i promise you that #a true healing narrative that doesnt rely on punitive justice and creates a positive outcome without repeating codependant patterns #that we see so often in billford #yes love redeems but love for yourself is important in redeption arcs too and knowing that you can make something good with your own hands #is just the game changer i want to bring to the billford fandom #but anyway thats for later for now im back in action and hopefully on track for finishing the chapter by the end of the month #fingers crossed buds #I'm doing my best so all the folks needing a pick me up after world events get something fun to look forward to #kmky #knowing me knowing you

I feel like there's something to be said about the way fandom will treat characters who's trauma they can personally relate to Vs characters who they cant

#like obviously fandom has a thing against unpalatable victims regardless of where their trauma is from #but like #people tend to be way more understanding and compassionate to trauma that they can personally relate to or comprehend #in narutos case:#naruto struggled academically and was bullied as a child. he was alone and neglected on an emotional/domestic level #people can relate to aspects of his character despite the fantasy stuff of being a human sacrifice and part of the military and tend to car #alot more about his struggles #on the other hand the uchiha are discriminated against. sasuke is the sole survivor of ethnic cleansing/genocide. that is not something mos #people could even fathom the pain and trauma of. i mean its fucking /genocide/. and ontop of that he was essentially mind raped by his #brother. the person who he loved the most who betrayed him #and is still expected to function in a society that provides no support and continues to objectify him for his clans desirable traits #i feel like atla is also a good example #people can relate to and sympathize with the parental abuse and inadequacy/anger issues zuko deals with. and are forgiving when it comes to #his redeption arc #but when you take a character like jet. who has trauma in loosing his entire village/community and taking on a caretaker role to other #war orphans. thats not exactly a regual occurrence the average person can personally understand. his trauma is directly related to the war #and so despite him doing WAYY less shitty things than zuko. his is still demonized by the narrative. killed off and then mocked #and the fandom largely saw nothing wrong with this outcome #hama is in a similar bag but she also has the whole 'exploding apartments of pregnant women' distraction tactics added onto her #cause just showing colonialism and forced assimilation and fucking SLAVERY is bad on its own isnt enough ig #psii.txt #slavery mention #genocide mention #rape mention

At first sight, Oneion is everything One wants to become, everything Draxum hoped and expected from him. But the moment Oneion interacts with his brothers (or on the crossovers with Sprout and Poptart) all of that comes crashing down, because No. WHY??!!

One is still deep in denial about having friends, because Draxum pretty much forbade that as he grew up, he grew up isolated in their home most of the time, and was tought to be a soldier and pretty much a weapon for war, friends were for normal yokai, and he was not that, friends were a distraction from his purpose and his training, a weakness to have

So then Oneion comes in and he has a family and friends and he loves them so much and he gets along with humans, which he was supposed to destroy and he is constantly going against so much that One was thought and who One perceives as who he is

Oneion has gone thought years of growth and character development, he's not the piña coloda of mental health by any means, but he's certainly in a better place than One is

All this frustrates both of them so much

and they certainly bring out the worst on each other, but! Once One starts to shift, once he starts to take the first steps in his redeption, he's gonna start seeing Oneion in another light, he'd be able to understand him more, and Oneion would gladly be there for him when the worst comes.

so I’ve been thinking about this for like two days now, and I’m gonna say it.

I’m fucking bothered. The amount of crap going around right now into relation of Tommy as a character and the rhetoric it’s being equated to is infuriating. Now personally, I try not to speak on things I can’t chiefly relate to (i.e., I’m not a gay male firefighter, so I won’t speak on the reality of living that life), however, I’m highly concerned about the attitude people are giving off in relation to the way that Tommy is undeserving of a redeption arc/is an asshole because of who he was in the past.

First of all, I want to remind those who would actually take the time to read this: he’s a television character, and in no way does that put Lou in the position of being deserving of any vitriol for the shit he’s had to put up with. Or has it already been so long that we’ve forgotten about the shit Isabel Gillies was put through when Elliot Stabler returned to L&O:SVU (a whopping 5 years ago)? To that end, these actors are just earning a paycheck. They don’t deserve the abuse spewed at them any more than any person who works in retail or food service does because someone makes a small mistake on your bad day.

Further though, I’m concerned by the attitude that there is hatred spewed towards the character of Tommy because of who he WAS. I find it highly unlikely that there’s a single person on this planet that hasn’t forgiven at least one person in their life for some shitty thing they did in the past. To that end: we clearly have seen based off the way s7 went that Hen and Chimney made that choice at some point. Does it excuse previous behavior? No. I don’t know that when you forgive someone that excusing bad behavior is the intention. However, you give them room to grow and flourish. To that end, the arc that Lou has been given for Tommy is clearly within those lines.

None of this is to say that what the character of Tommy did was okay or acceptable. However, I’d venture to guess that if we’d never seen the recurrence of Tommy Kinard on the show in s7 (and most likely s8), no one would bat an eyelash at the mention of his character, because in terms of how his storyline was wrapped up in s2, things are left on good terms. However, because he’s now Buck’s love interest for the moment and possibly forseable future, he’s got all kinds of problems. He has all kinds of toxic behavior. Nevermind the fact that this rhetoric comes from the same people who fail to also concede that Eddie, the preferred option as a LI for Buck for a large crowd, also has his own toxic behaviors. Hell, he even has his own toxic behaviors towards Buck. But you don’t see those who appreciate Tommy as a character pointing fingers at those issues.

If you want to call me toxic because I’m not afraid to point all of this out, so be it. It is canonically unfair to tell someone that they are a toxic person because of who they used to be, and not the person they are today. The attitude towards “Tommy blame Gerrard for his behavior”, as though the character is supposed to resolve every issue he previously created with other characters in the limited screen time he was given, given the contract extension. Although, something tells me that even if Tim & Co had put the effort into making the scenes all about that instead of devoting it to the point of his character development (Buck and Tommy’s relationship), people would still find something to complain about.

I’m not saying you have to like Tommy with Buck. I’m not even saying you have to like Tommy, period. But it’s arguable to say that if you’re going to decide not to like him, first, Lou is not the person to blame (someone else very well could’ve played the character and yall would be doing the same thing). And second, maybe find some realistic reasoning behind not liking him other than the fact that it makes Evan unavailable to chase after Eddie (because some people clearly aren’t prepared for that discussion).

the way i like my Vlad!Redeption au is where vlad is still an asshole, but he's a lonely asshole. he doesn't do things out of love or the goodness of his heart, he does them because he's a lonely little man with 20 years of isolation and trauma he refuses to unpack and the thought of letting go of the one person who could possibly understand him physically hurts him in every emotional way.

so it's not really a redemption so much as its a one-sided codependency issue

Regulus was not an optimist.

He despised the idea of new beginnings, of forgiving indiscretions or letting go of grudges. In his opinion, people needed to earn those things. How could someone possibly just let go?

Nothing in his life had ever convinced him that he deserved to be looked at with positivity. He'd come from a family of dark wizards, bought into the bigotry they spewed. And sure, as he grew older, he'd left. But he had hurt people. He'd done bad things. He didn't deserve redeption.

That was why James's love always made him uncomfortable and terrified. He never felt like he deserved it. When would James realize he was bad...broken? When would James realize he deserved someone better and leave?

But as he sat in the chair of the hospital room, holding the cooing baby in front of him, something warm stole over his heart.

He looked over to James, who was staring at both of them with tears in his eyes and such adoration on his face that Regulus almost burst.

This.

This was a new beginning he could believe in.

i missed amerie with malakai SO MUCH they are so cute and funny together, but here is my problem: why the writers can't have one couple last? there is always SO MUCH DRAMA around it, for christ sake. when malakai was sure about amerie she wasn't and when she was he wasn't. my fear is that they will do like sex education, and they won't be together in the end (like when they weren't in the finale). they only gave us crumbs, CRUMBS of malakai+amerie and i'm not ok with that.

spider and missy??????????????? i didn't know that i needed that? they were SO cute i was kicking my feet watching them. His mother sucked btw (WTF was that?), jesus. but the whole buildup was awesome. i liked the way was handled the whole ''i can't get it up'', she was so kind all the time, and i get, it takes time to trust someone. i posted last time that nobody had asked for them together, now i'm asking for more!!!!! (AND THE REDEPTION ARC FOR SPIDER?????? I FUCKING KNEW IT)

quinni? they didn't much with her? i'm kinda of disappointed? her arc was that everything was changing? she was crucial for the investigation, but? just that? i hated that
