I just started playing L&DS and I've somehow ended up on Ambigous chaos: long awaited revelry but i can't get past the chapter 9 battle, tips?

So these are some basic Tips for not just this particular stage but for any battles in the game.

the outcome of your battles depends on 3 major things:

1. Stellactrums 2. Enemy Level 3. Protocores

1. Stellactrums

Before battle, make sure to check if there's any specific Protofield Stellactrum required during the battle.

If you match the stellactrums as mentioned, they increase Damage Boost by 5% with each addition as well as the Damage Reduction. And help you to easily break an enemy's shield and defeat them.

For instance, in the above battle, its 1 Pink Stellactrum •

So make sure to use at least 1 Pink Stellactrum card on your team. (Here you can see, i have 2 pink stellactrum cards of Sylus.)

Similarly, if the battle requires 2 pink stellactrums •• then use 2 pink stellactrum cards. Or if 3 green stellactrums ••• are required then use 3 green stellactrum cards, and so on..

2. Enemy Level

Check your enemy's levels.

Ideally, all your cards should be at same level as the enemy's or higher. But if it's difficult for you to get materials for that, then at least 2 cards of same level or higher should be enough. I MOSTLY WORK WITH 2-3 CARDS OF SAME LEVEL CUZ I'M KINDA LAZY.

For this I recommend prioritising your SOLAR cards over the LUNAR cards.

As for the cards itself, spare your materials for 5✩⁠ cards, then 4✩⁠ cards. And then the 3✩⁠ ones. However, i recommend to not waste your materials on upgrading 3✩ unless you have no other options. And even then try not to upgrade a 3✩⁠ more than level 40.

3. Protocores

Even with your cards upgraded to recommended levels and your stellactrums matched, your cards won't do much without good Protocores.

So add appropriate protocores to the cards you use.

Above pic is a card I'm still building and upgrading. But i think you should attach good protocores and try enhancing them to their max levels. If you can't, then even +5 to +9 is good. (But still try to enhance them to the max slowly)

If you aren't sure which Protocores to choose, then pick them based on the Talent mentioned on the card itself. For example, if the card talent is about Attack, then try adding Protocores that increase the attack stats on it.

But i personally prioritise Crit Rate, Crit Damage as well as the Oath Strength and DMG Boost to Weakened Protocores.

Try maintaining a 1:2 ratio between crit rate and crit damage. Your crit damage should always be twice of the crit rate. Example- 100 crit rate : 200 crit dmg, 200 crit rate : 400 crit dmg, etc.

Honestly, just add protocores based on what stats you need the most. And this is something no one can teach. You'll get the idea when you play battles for a while.

Now,

you should be able to tackle any battle if you've fixed the 3 things above.

And if you're still unable to get through, then hit the AUTO EQUIP icon.

And let the game pick out your best card options for you..(notice that i still got a matching pink • stellactrum card)

If its still difficult or you just don't enjoy combat much in general, then hit the AUTO option during battles and sit back n enjoy the fight.

If it's not too much of a hassle, could you sometime make a little guide on protocores? They're very confusing to get the hang of. Completely understandable if it's too much, of course! You can simply just tell which ones to focus on. Again, thank you for all your help.

Rather than make my own I'll just refer you to the ones I've seen floating around and have used in the past. These player/community made guides range from introductory to Protocores to some a bit more detailed. Of course, play style is entirely up to you so you don't have to follow them absolutely and can use them as a reference.

How to use Protocores by @/myusuchaa on Twitter covers the basics.

Love and Deepspace Ultimate Protocore Guide - by Rosehappa on YouTube is a good introductory to protocores. They explain what protocores are and briefly cover attributes. Most of the information they go over can be found in game too.

Love and Deepspace Protocore Guide: for late game by /u/Duchess_Aria on Reddit has a guide out for late game protocores. They have a detailed roadmap for late game core farming. It has been updated as of March 26, 2024.

Public Guide to Protocores 101 by Charm with Q/C by the rest of the guide team in the Official Love and Deepspace Discord. This is by far the most comprehensive guide on protocores that I have seen. They cover everything from the basics of protocores to in-depth stat guide with different builds.

Hopefully you will find these resources useful. Again, I want to reiterate that there is no right or wrong way to play. Play style will vary from player to player depending on your team build and personal preference. Find something that will work best for you in order to help you clear the trials you are working on. It's a quiet afternoon. A rare one, where Zayne and you both ended up having the same day off for once. Well. So he thought. Neither of you had been able to see much of each other lately, with his long shifts and your own busy schedule as a hunter. And well… You might have asked Xavier to trade a shift with you so that you could spend the day with your sweet boyfriend, but Zayne doesn’t need to know that. 

Anyway, he looks so content right now, like a big happy cat. Both of you are curled up on the couch, his head resting on your thigh while you watch a movie together. Well, you were watching the movie, but your poor sleep deprived Zayne dozed off about 20 minutes in. Your fingers carding through his short, soft hair probably hadn’t helped him stay awake either. Not that you mind. You hum and continue brushing through it almost absently as the credits start to roll, looking down at him as he takes in a sharper inhale, indicating that he’s finally waking up.

 

Zayne sighs, his hand coming up to wipe at his eyes as he yawns and his eyes crack open. Adorable. You give him a second to regain his bearings as he rejoins the waking world, but your fingers continue to pet his hair as he watches the names scroll by on the screen. He frowns and pouts a little as he looks up at you, and there’s something that flashes in his eyes you’re not sure you recognize.

“I slept through the entire movie?” He asks, disgruntled, his voice hoarse with sleep still, and you laugh, the hand in his hair moving to stroke his cheek as he turns onto his back to look up at you more fully.

“Clearly you needed it. It’s okay. You’re cute when you’re sleeping.” You respond, and he looks like he’s about to retort, but instead he yawns and rubs at his face again. 

“It’s been a long week. Month.” Zayne manages once the yawn subsides, and grunts, turning over so he can grab around your middle and press his face into your stomach. His voice becomes muffled now, rumbling against you in a way that’s almost ticklish. “I missed you.”

Your thigh fell asleep a long time ago, but you aren’t about to tell him that. Not when he’s acting so cute it makes you want to squish him like a stress ball. 

“I missed you too.” You shift a little, and his arms just hold on tighter. 

“Was the movie good?” 

“Yeah, it was…” You start, like you’re about to continue, but pause… It ended up being a pretty sad movie, actually. One where the couple at the beginning was so happy together, and throughout the course of the hour and a half, watched them slowly fall apart because one of them changed. They grew apart as they found themselves as individuals, rather than who they had become and remained for each other. It had left you with an odd, bittersweet feeling. The joy of becoming who one was meant to be versus the heartbreak of losing someone you thought would be with you forever. 

“What was it about?” Zayne asks, nuzzling his nose into your belly button, getting under the hem of your shirt and pressing a soft kiss to your hipbone. It makes you shiver a bit. 

Instead of answering the question, you find yourself blurting something else. “Zayne… Are you still attracted to me?” 

That causes him to pause, his lips stopping their gentle kisses on  your warm skin, and he looks up at you entirely bewildered. Your eyes meet for a long moment, and his own bore into you like he’s trying to determine the source of such a sudden and ridiculous question. After all, you’d had sex once already today, before either of you had even gotten out of bed. 

“... Have I done something to make you think otherwise?” He asks after a pregnant pause, and the hand you have resting on his shoulder drifts a little lower on his arm as you look away and shift beneath him.

“No… I just…” The thought of speaking the worry you have out loud is embarrassing, because you know it might sound silly, or maybe just insecure.

Zayne sits up. Propping himself on one of his arms, and you feel a tingle in your leg where he was resting as blood begins to flow properly again. 

“Tell me.” 

You can’t meet his eyes, and he doesn’t force you to, instead waiting patiently. 

“I just mean… I’ve changed a lot the past year, you know?” You’re trying to dance around the subject, but he catches on almost immediately. 

“You have.” Is his simple answer. You can almost hear the gears turning in his head as he tries to work out the puzzle you’ve placed before him. 

“And… I’m going to keep changing.”

“Is that not one of the beautiful things about life? My love, we all change.” Zayne says, and leans a bit closer, his free hand coming up to your cheek. “You’re afraid that the more masculine you become, the less attracted I will be to you.” It might have been a question, but coming from him it’s a statement. 

Your face feels hot, but you lean into his large palm, just nodding, afraid of your own voice at the moment. There are tears that seem to be pricking at the backs of your eyes as you keep them fixed on your own hands in your lap. 

Zayne sighs, and out of the corner of your vision you see him shake his head. 

“Look at me.” He says, and you obey, the lump in your throat growing tighter once you see his earnest expression. 

“I just… I don’t want to lose you because of it.” Your voice is small, and Zayne sighs again, leaning in to press his forehead against your own as he strokes your cheek with a thumb. 

“If you believe that’s even possible, then I’m not sure you truly know me at all. If anything… I love you more than I did before you began this journey. I feel as if I am getting to see you for the first time in my life, and it has been a privilege to be by your side and watch you bloom.”

“Zayne…” You whine, unable to handle the surge of affection in your chest. 

“Your gender makes no difference to me. And it never will. What matters to me…” He continues, determined to quell the anxiety in your chest, and his hand slides down to rest on the beating of your heart, “Is this.” He turns his head, his nose brushing against your cheek, and presses a soft kiss to your lips. “And this.”

You lean into the kiss, reaching up to hold him closer by the back of his neck. “What about when I start growing back hair and a beard?” You ask. What if he doesn’t want that? The person he fell in love with was soft and dainty, and nowhere near who you’re becoming now.

Zayne chuckles. “If those things make you happy, then I will love them too. As long as I get to see your smile.”

this thought hit me as I was yet again staring into space thinking about xavier’s very specific gap moe

I realized this gap started after the myth story — he was plenty competent and in control during that time, but then in the current timeline he suddenly has these very adorable klutzy moments

I mean it’s very cute ofc I love xavier even if he bombed the oven in the egg tart story but it made me think—

how does a man proven to be very intelligent fail so badly at silly things

so I reread the myth and saw this scene

and suddenly it all made sense

Linkon City Hall

Location: Unknown

Category: Administrative

Details:

Linkon City Hall serves as the primary means of communication between irl Infold developers and in-game Deepspace Hunters. While it has been repeatedly referenced in-game, it's physical location in Linkon City has yet to be revealed.

Speculation: Since irl city halls are the administrative headquarters of a city, this would suggest Linkon City Hall is located in Bloomshore District (since it is the administrative district of Linkon City). But this has yet to be confirmed in-game.

Thus far, it has facilitated the delivery of rewards, holiday messages, notices, and reminders.

During the "Touring In Love" event, it was revealed that the event was sponsored by Linkon City Hall (bottom right). Within the event, Deepspace Hunters have access to Linkon City Hall's Tour Guide booklet (left, top right).

Speculation: I initially found it odd that the Tour Guide booklet is sourced from the city hall, as opposed to the Linkon City Tourism Bureau. But this could be because it is specific to the Touring In Love event that the city hall sponsored.

Interesting Facts:

In the real world, city halls (also known as town halls, civic centers, guildhalls, or municipal buildings) are where local government conduct business. They are also where city residents can interact with city leadership and can get important documents like birth certificates and marriage licenses.

People who work at city halls typically include the following:

The mayor

City clerks

City council members

Administrative staff

Parks and recreation leadership

Police department/law enforcement leadership (Bloomshore District Special Task Force?)

Fire department leadership

Public works department head

Urban planning leadership

Etc.

Since many of these roles have yet to be expanded upon in-game, I'm excited at the possibility of more information about them! I want to meet the mayor!!

░ 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐁𝐀𝐓 𝐆𝐔𝐈𝐃𝐄: 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬

This boss is arguably one of the most annoying ones to beat when you are trying to go lean with your stats. Here are some general strategies that you can use to maximize your Luminivore fights!

𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧── .✦

Luminivore is a Boss type enemy who deals slashing melee attacks. It has 2 lock phases, one at 80% 3x HP, after which it gets an orange glow to indicate a more empowered state; another one at 30% 2x HP (the space roughly between 3rd and 4th protocore shield under its HP bar).

Luminivore is also featured in "dormant Luminivore" special stages. In these stages, after killing the first wave of mobs, he goes straight into the first lock phase.

The difficulty comes from managing the timing around the two lock phases, while also dealing with the distance Luminivore creates with its movement. The strategies outlined below show how you can deal with these issues individually.

𝐁𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐡── .✦

One way to deal with Luminivore's dash is to dash into it, using the body blocking to your advantage. I learned this strategy from fellow hunter Sene!

The first part of this clip is an example of body blocking to stop the dash completely. Your companion also helps add to the body blocking.

The second part of this clip (0:06 in the video), the body block was only able to cut down the distance by halfway - but that is still a good outcome!

𝐃𝐚𝐬𝐡 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥── .✦

Another way to deal with the dash by positioning yourself to where Luminivore is facing a nearby wall. This way, when it dashes, it will dash into the wall instead of traversing a larger distance. To maximize this strategy, learn at roughly which points in the fight Luminivore is most likely to do the dash and pre-position yourself.

𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩── .✦

Luminivore has a tendency to backstep which makes you lose precious time closing the distance when using a melee weapon. To minimize this, attack it from the front with its back against the wall.

In this clip you'll see that it backsteps twice - once at the start, and another close to the end when it's already has its back pressed to the wall.

𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬── .✦

Get a resonance skill in before its first lock phase at 80% 3x HP. This will help with your first oath timing to make the 1:00 mark.

Time a shieldbreak right before its second lock phase at the 30% 2x HP mark (the space roughly between 3rd and 4th protocore shield under its HP bar) to delay it. This may make your second oath timing a bit rough, depending on how much oath recovery you have, and how lean you're going with your damage stats.

You can keep inflicting damage during the second lock phase. If using a ranged weapon, keep attacking from a distance. If using a melee weapon, wait until it's done screaming and its aura disappears - that's the point when you are able to approach it again.

𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬── .✦

2.0:

- First lock phase ends faster. - Second lock phase can no longer be interrupted entirely. I've seen it be successfully interrupted just once since the update; would need a larger sample size of interrupts before I can say for sure that it can still be done.

going insane bc of lore's reply, and it's also made me think about how after the explosion in her lads verse, that " hand of fate " chiyo used to feel throughout her life is suddenly gone. she doesn't feel it trying to guide her anymore. why? bc chiyo isn't struggling against it anymore. her dreams and passion for art are the furthest things from her mind -- the life she thinks she should be leading and the desire to break free from her circumstances are the furthest things from her mind.

she's consumed by grief and her need for answers, so chiyo does what she always does in response to major stressors. she throws herself into her work. she fully commits to hunting wanderers and then to getting into the n109 zone, and that's exactly what fate wants. those actions will lead her to where she needs to be and the people she needs to meet. fate no longer pushes her along because chiyo is already pushing herself plenty and likely will not stop until she figures out what happened to josephine and caleb.
