Salvatore tinha uma afeição inegável pela menina. Normalmente, ele se deleitava em ver alguém se ferrando; porque era ele o causador da desgraça alheia. A começar pela noite no pequeno cassino onde haviam se conhecido, há um ano atrás, quando ele, por um milagre, conseguira tirar o pescoço dela da forca com uma mão cheia de trapaça no pôquer, que havia se desenrolado em posteriores companhias, em lugares ainda bastante duvidosos, com o passar do tempo. Season 1 episode 5 [A Vile Hunger For Your Hammering Heart] - part 1/2

- Previously... Trouble in the Unholy Family.

- Hey, did y'all notice that the intro card, the red sky with the skyline, actually changes? I was rewatching some parts of s2 and noticed that the skyline is different cities, but some buildings disappear from one episode to another.

- *wheezes* What the hell is this opening. Loumand indulging in some exhibitionism for Daniel while Daniel's going through Claudia's exploits. Hilarious. This show is a comedy, I swear. Holy shit, look at Armand's face, he's having the time of his life. And Louis doesn't give a shit, man wants his blood and that's it. Freaks. I love them.

[Daniel] "I'm trying to think of something more fucked up than this." - I don't know, what's going on in front of you maybe? *dies of laughter*

- [Rashid/Armand] "'And how is your work any different? Well, what do you think will happen to Mr du Lac when you publish this book, when the other vampires of the world get their hands on it?' [Daniel] 'As long as they pay full freight.' [Rashid/Armand] 'They will make their way to Dubai. They will scale the sides of this building, force their way inside, and paint the walls with his blood. You are chronicling a suicide. Do not look down on Claudia. Look in the mirror.'"

... Hey, Armand? Pot meets kettle. Don't pretend you care about Claudia. You could stop this any time you want. You're enjoying this, you're enjoying Louis' pain, you're thinking that the book will never see the light of day, that you're in control of the entire narrative, that you can stop this any time you want, that nothing will come out of this enterprise. You're thinking that if, if it comes to this, you'll get to play hero and "save" Louis' life again, and thus tie him even more to yourself. You're assisting that suicide, Armand. You just think that you're in control of the dosage. Look in the mirror.

- [Louis] "Honey and pineapple. He stuffs himself with both for days before he offers himself to me." - Lou baby I love you but you are insane. And also there are things you'd do better to keep in your head, actually. This whole roleplay thing is crazy. I'm imagining Daniel thinking back on these moments after he's turned and just going "what in the seven hells was that".

- [Rashid/Armand] "I care for him more than I care for himself." - oooh, did you guys notice that quick side glance Louis throws at Armand there? That line is Armand being genuine and Louis going "hey dear that's not in the script, what are you saying". Louis is done with both Armand and Daniel, he's being very bitchy and mean.

- What'd that bird do to you, Louis? Leave the poor birdy alone.

Aw, how the tableturns have turned, or however that expression goes. Now you're trying to get her to feed when you made Lestat's life hell refusing to eat yourself...

- Lestat reading and mocking Claudia's diary = Damon Salvatore reading and mocking Stefan and Elena's diaries (my first vampire show was Vampire Diaries, sorry, can't escape your past and all that).

- Oof, Claudia shattering the mirror and Louis being the cautious, angry one for once. Family's in trouble. And then the river of corpses... Oh, trouble, trouble all around.

- Ugh. Tom fucking Anderson is back. When does he die again because he's ugh.

- [Anderson] "Every single one of those corpses had some soft part of it lopped off. Finger here, a foot there... a toe." - yeah, I'm good with blood, but body parts? Claudia's trophies? That is actually stomach turning.

- [Lestat] "One each" - power couuuuuple. Look at them go! Unstoppable when they finally work together, and so in synch. That's what we like to see! Also let's just get rid of Anderson now, thanks.

- Oh, man, Claudia being drunk when the cops are searching the house, half comedy, half horror show. And then the real horror starts as she gathers her trophies. Ah, fuck, I had forgotten about the half dead guy in the closet. She craaaazy.

- [Lestat] "You wanted her, you fix her!" - when one of your parent tells the other "that's your child" when you do or behave in a way they hate. Classic parent stuff.

[Louis] "'We're doing this together.' [Lestat] 'Do you remember our life, how happy we were before her?' [Louis] 'Happy? We were not happy!' [Lestat] 'An anvil, tied around our ankles, pulling us towards the pitch-black ocean floor.'"

Ouch. You ever hear your parents fighting because of you, blaming you for their issues? Yeah... Can't say I blame Claudia for going off the rails.

- [Claudia] "Who am I supposed to love? You two have each other. Who's my Lestat? Who's my Louis? I'm not human. What human would want me? Perverts? Like the uncle at the rooming house who used to watch me pee? Or little boys? And 40 years from now... still little boys? How are you gonna fix it, huh? Which one of you gonna fuck me?!"

Hey, more of Claudia's fucked up backstory. 'You broke it, you fix it', except they can't even begin to understand what's broken, because she's right, they've got each other, even when they fight, that's Louis-and-Lestat, Lestat-and-Louis, they can't even understand why she's so mad and so sad and so angry. Kinda like when allosexual alloromantic people tell you, an aro ace person "but you don't love?" - bitch, I do love, I just don't wanna date anybody, thanks. L&L to Claudia: "but we're a family, we're rich and we're powerful, why are you not happy". Claudia: "bitch, maybe because I'm stuck as a kid for the rest of eternity while my mind and spirit age and I gotta see you two romance each other every fucking night while knowing that nobody will ever want to romance me?".

- [Claudia] "'I'm gonna go out there and find other vampires.' [Lestat] 'If you could find them, which you won't, they would shred you to strips, because you are build like a bird, because you are a mistake.'"

Bedside manners, Lestat. You know the worst thing, Lestat does warn here that she'd be in danger, but he does it in such a mocking, cruel manner that obviously she doesn't believe him and doesn't even take him seriously.

- Louis' dejected scoff when Lestat tells him he's killing Antoinette soon. These madmen are so bad at communicating.

- [Louis] "We made her out of remorse, out of selfishness." - ah, the self-awareness brought by a century of reflecting on your past. But what's that "we", Louis? You wanted her out of remorse, as your penance, your redemption for your sins and mistakes. Lestat made her out of love and pity for you.

- [Daniel] "'Poor dear. She wasn't held enough in between ritualistic murders.' [Louis] 'She spent every night for half a decade with no friends, locked in the emotional storm of puberty.' [Daniel] 'Look, Charlie Manson wrote a couple of beautiful songs. Still, he was Charlie Manson.' [Louis] 'Is that all you think of her?' [Daniel] 'Mostly. I also think she makes you and Frenchy look like a couple of whiny, existential queens. Probably why she's a fucking goldmine. The girl who moves a million books.' [Louis] 'I won't have her exploited.' [Daniel] 'Won't matter what your intentions are. It's the world out there now. She's the - the... single-shooter, Xbox, mouth-breather shit they crave.'"

Daniel's right. Look at us, we fucking love Claudia. She's a psycho, she's murderous, she's cold-blooded... She's our babygirl. She's our bicon. She's the moment. We love her because she's unhinged and feral and unapologetic about her pain and anger.

I love this writing, how it totally recontextualizes the whole story in the 21st century. Book!Claudia is disturbing, little blond angel with blood on her teeth, the eternal child with the wisdom and anger of a grown woman. Show!Claudia is pure attraction and mass adoration, the symbol of teenage angst with all of a lifetime of anger and rebellion. We relate to her, we the generations that have had to grow up so fast while simultaneously stunted, can't find jobs but expected to be way more qualified than our parents, can't buy a house but gotta be way more independent and resourceful and crafty than our elders. The whole world at our fingertips but completely unable to reach it, stuck in an eternal loop of doom and gloom as we watch the world burn without having the slightest power to stop it.

And of course Daddy Lou still wants to protect her from that, even in death, still sees her as his precious little daughter/sister who needs sheltering and safeguarding, even after she tells him she's not that kid anymore.

Well, that was heavy. Doom and gloom indeed. Don't think part 2 will get any better.

While we're on the subject of high-profile men, let's run through some names of people you've been linked with romantically. Marky Mark?

I went out with Mark two times, with a group of people, as friends.

Jason Priestley? 'US' printed a photo of you two liplocked after the 1991 Emmys.

Really kissing?No, Jason and I probably kissed each other, but I don0t think it was really kissing. I don't think there was any saliva involved. People might get confused because we're very affectionate with one another and that's only because we absolutely adore each other.

You were engaged to a young man named Chris Foufas. What happened?

Idecided that I was too young to get married. Chris is a great person who I love as a friend very much. I think our friendship overtook the romance, and we both weren't ready for that step.

What's the first sign that you know you're in live?

I'll do absolutely anything for that person. If somebody pointed a gun at them, I'd throw muself in front so they wouldn't die. I can forgive the person that I've been dating recently, I feel the exact same way for.

I'd rather prefer that no names be mentioned. He knows who he is.

What's the most painful lesson you're learned about romantic love?

Oh, I don't know, I've been through so much in that department... I think the lesson that I learned is that you can't drop everything for one person. I've done that and that person has broken up with me,and I've had nothing. I'd stopped talking to my friends. You can't do that. You've got to say, "I've got my own life, my own identity." I think guys in relationships can be so much more casual than women.

You've gotten a lot of flak for leading the Pledge of Allegiance at the Republican National Convention. What attracted you to the Republican Party?

Without getting too much into it, because I realize at this point it's probably beat to keep my politics to myself...

Wait a second. Don't you think that you made your politivs public when you decided to attend the convention?

The thing is that this is a free country, and nobody should be criticized for their politivcal beliefs. We're all allowed to have our own opinons... I'm a conservative. I was an avid supporter of Ronald Reagan; I thought he was fabulous. I still think [Bush has] been a good president. I realize that the majority of people in the entertainment business happen to be Democrats. I have no problem with that. And they should have no problem with the fact that I'm a Republican.

Do you think that some people might have taken issue with the fact that you were a young female supporting a party that had not proven itself to be particularly pro-woman?

I don't think that the Republican Party is against women. I don't know how George Bush personally feels on abortion. I have some idea and, from what I understand, he isn't really opposed to abortion. However, the Republican platform was therefore he had to conform to what they wanted.

So you're saying that you're pro-choice?

I would say I'm pro-choice only because I don't feel that it's right that anybody in this world puts restrictions on anyone, whether it be a woman or a man. I think some people are somewhat worried because abortion is legal, it's so easy. It's just like, "Oh, it's no big deal because I can just go get an abortion." That's not really being a very responsible person. But I don't think that that choice should be taken away from anybody. I'm definitely pro-choice.

In a readers poll in a recent issue of 'Sassy' magazine, you beat Roseanne Arnold and Tori Spelling as "TV Actress Whose Inner Child Is Most Wounded." What do you think thia award says about who they think you are?

I have absolutely no idea. My inner child is not wounded.

Wait. I'm not sure you understand the term correctly. The definition of an inner child might be that everyone has a public self and a true authentic self, which is still inside of us, that was developed when we were a child.

Then maybe it's true. If there is such a thing as an inner child, I don't see how anybody could have so much bad press and not have their inner child wounded. But I had a wonderful childhood. My parents were a dream to me.

What approach do you use to slough off bad press?

I think you're constantly telling yourself you'll ignore it, you'll let it roll off your back, you won't let it affect you – but it does. You read stuff about yourself and you just think, "My God, where are these people coming up with these things? And why am I the one that they're picking on, all of a sudden? Out of all people, why me?" I'm the person who stops and gives any homeless person any money that they want. So if does affect you, but you just have to keep believing in yourself, I guess.

Why should we like you?

I'm not saying that anybody should like me. Everybody is more than welcome to have their own opinion. All I'm saying is give me a chance before you form that opinion. [Pause] It sounds really weird to give you a list of why people should like me. Like tooting your own horn. I could tell you what my good qualities are. There's my honesty; I have a very wacky, kind of dry humor that a lot of people don't get to see; I'm the best friend a person could ever have; I'm very compassionate; I try and helppeople out as much as possible; I really care about this world, about the people in it, and I just want what's best for everyone; I take on absolutely everybody's problems and take care of everyone – I have a very maternal side. I'm basically a very norma,, down-to-earth person, and if people meet me, they agree. They're like, "Wow, you're nothing like people say you are..."

What is the most ridiculous thing you've read about yourself?

That I'm an alcoholic is completely ridiculous. There's so many things, I don't know where to start. I've had so much happen that it's hard to trust people.

There's something that's been bothering me throughout our conversation, and that is the assigning of blame to other people. How responsible do you feel for what has happened to you? Be numerically specific.

I probably feel fifteen percent responsible. In my first year on the show – which was two-and-a-half years ago – I was overwhelmed by so much responsibility and pressure that I didn't handle things in a very diplomatic manner. I took everything to heart. That hasn't happened since the first year of the show, and it's just now coming back to me. I've learned to be very diplomatic. Now it's just like a tidal wave. It's people either needing money,so they sell stories to the Enquirer, or they're jealous of me so they sell storues, or people just making up bulls---. So it is just a tidal wave of things happening and happenning and happening that I don't feel very responsible for.

Delta Burke once said, "I wouldn't be producing if it weren't for bad press." Is this the upside to your situation?

I got the opportunity to meet Delta Burke – we did a literacy show at the White House forMr. Bush. She told me, "Just do what you believe in. Look at me: I have my own TV show now and I deal with nice people, that's what it's all about." So that's sort of what I'm doing at this point, I'm learning.

What's the biggest lesson that you've learned?

To... be... very... clear. To be diplomatic, and to be very careful. There is so much focus on you that you can't just do and say whatever you feel. You have to watch everything that you do and everything that you say.

Have you learned to apologize?

I will apologize if I've done something wring. But if I have not done something wrong, I will not apologize.

Would you give up your notoriety for a little bit of slack?

Yeah, I would. If that means quit acting,no. If it means staying home,better believe it! I'll lock myself in my house for a little slack.

Do you feel the tide is turning for or against you at this point?

Probably against.

You think it's going to get worse?

I don't know how much worse it can get.

What were some of your New Year's resolutions?

Quit smoking. [Takes a drag] Going real well. Get healthy. [Pauses] And somehow turn this thing around.

Early Life

Born to a single mother, Lou had always been a handful—an unruly daughter with a rebellious streak. Her mother's history of alcohol abuse didn't help matters. Although she never physically harmed Lou, she was often emotionally and financially absent. Little was known about Lou's biological father, and her mother believed the pregnancy had been unplanned and unwanted. Despite these circumstances, Lou managed to attend school, although she never felt like she belonged there. She was frequently mocked by her peers and easily provoked into fights. Her growing pattern of aggression eventually became problematic enough that, after numerous complaints from other parents, the public school she attended decided to expel her.

It was in the summer of 2013, when Lou was 14, that the family encountered La Malfa, an Italian-American businessman who intended to buy a large portion of the neighborhood to develop into estates—including the small property where Lou had spent her childhood. The discussions didn't go smoothly, as Lou resisted the idea of selling the house and relocating out of California. In response, La Malfa made an offer: the family could move into his home, where Lou's mother could work as his accountant, and he would help Lou get back into school. They eventually accepted the generous offer.

From the beginning, La Malfa harbored an inappropriate attraction to the underage Lou. A year later, he married her mother, becoming Lou's stepfather and legal guardian. Tragically, Lou's mother died in a car accident a few months after the marriage, leaving Lou to live with La Malfa. It was the night of the funeral that La Malfa consoled her by corrupting the now-orphaned daughter.

Present Life

Gradually, Lou came to understand the true nature of La Malfa’s work: money laundering, high-stakes gambling, manipulative real estate deals, and bribery of local officials. She had dropped out of high school early due to severe bullying and the trouble she often found herself in, eventually opting for homeschooling as a way to escape the chaos.

By the age of 17, Lou was almost always by La Malfa's side; they were literally inseparable. She had created a tight bond with him, emotionally and sexually. She learned how to navigate his world by observing how La Malfa introduced her—he would refer to her as his lover when he trusted someone with his life, while to others, he presented her as his daughter.

Her happy little journey with La Malfa came to an abrupt end with a series of events that led to La Malfa's arrest by federal authorities, all stemming from a mysterious high-profile party he attended. He was arrested and sentenced to jail with no possibility of parole. From that moment on, Lou found herself alone without her guardian.

And here comes the day that the people she had wronged for amusement, as well as La Malfa's enemies, had long rue for.

Personality

Lou was flirty, energetic, and spontaneous—sometimes to the point of rudeness. With a snarky sense of humor that often offended more people than it entertained, she didn’t shy away from saying exactly what was on her mind. Even in her 20s, her behavior remained somewhat childish, marked by a demanding nature; she wanted what she wanted, and she wanted it immediately. Patience was not her strong suit. Confident in her sexuality, she embraced flirtation and enjoyed the “game” of attraction, often using it to her advantage.

Fascinated by luxury, beauty, and life on the edge, Lou sought out glamorous yet dangerous situations as a form of escape from her past. The thrills were almost addictive, often leading her down risky, self-destructive paths. Her impulsive spending habits, coupled with an ability to entice people—especially men—into funding her lifestyle, landed her in numerous compromising situations. Whether dealing with hardened criminals, gullible civilians, or even local officials, she found herself in sticky predicaments that required La Malfa to step in and rescue her.

Freedom was Lou’s ultimate desire. Raised in poverty, she longed for the power to do what she wanted, whenever she wanted. While La Malfa indulged this desire by saying, "Be a good baby, and I'll let you do what you want," the reality was more complicated. Her supposed freedom was often undercut by her dependence on him to fix the messes she created.

Lou’s way of speaking was blunt and could come off as childlike and rude, but she had a knack for switching to a sweeter, more innocent tone when it served her purposes. These shifts in behavior were unpredictable and entirely dictated by what she wanted or how she felt in the moment. It was a survival tactic she’d picked up young, giving her an air of manipulativeness. Yet, behind this exterior, Lou was emotionally guarded. She rarely showed vulnerability, opting instead to put up a tough front, even when it was clearly harmful to herself.

Physical Features

Lou stands five feet tall, with long, wavy blonde hair, icy blue eyes, and pale skin that tends to tan in the summer. Her features blend romantic charm with femininity, complemented by a curvy figure. She favors glamorous, chic, and flowy fashions, often wearing her hair down and paying careful attention to her nails. Bright pastel colors are her favorites. Physically, she isn't very athletic and tends to be slow-moving and somewhat careless. She really isn't suited for any quick-movement-actions at all. Lou's voice has a sweet, light, airy tone. Week 28 of missing Cipher Academy

UNDEAD UNLUCK PEAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK Ruin coming back to ruin the day is another callback moment, but it’s so gratifying to see Fuuko react entirely different this time around – it really shows just how much she’s grown. In general, Fuuko’s just so kickass in this chapter…AND THE TITLE DROP WITH ANDY COMING BACK AHHHHHHHHHHH

SpyFam was literally a nothing chapter lol not to be a slice of life complainer but. Even the slice of life elements of it weren’t interesting to read.

Nui ni Koishite ii Desu ka?: I haven’t read a lot of straight romance manga…I’m just not big into the genre, I think… But I felt strangely compelled by this one when I saw a plot description on Twitter, and I surprisingly really enjoyed reading it. I think I just like romances where the main leads are forced into a situation where they have to help each other out/keep a mutual secret (such as Fruits Basket). I like the comedy that arises from their absurd situation, I like that the girl is a little unsettling about her love of plushies, and I like that due to the nature of the curse, the guy has to be invested in making the girl happy. God, if this manga had come out like ten years ago, it would’ve gotten the 60 chapter run it deserved rather than the rushed 2 volume run we got here… The romance progressed quickly, which was nice, but I would’ve really loved to see them either develop the romantic build up more or explore their life as a couple afterwards, especially in regards to each other’s families (we haven’t seen the girl’s family at all)… I haven’t read the ending yet so there’s still a bit to go, but I mourn for what could have been. Now I’m gonna have to be the weirdo championing for this shoujo manga that literally like only ten people outside of Japan have read…

REVUE STARLIGHT EL DORADO HAS FINALLY ARRIVED I have work to do but I couldn’t help myself and played through a route…the Kaoruko and Maya route is sooo funny and cute, and seeing Ayasa reach new heights in her voice acting as Salvatore was a real highlight. I was, admittedly, a little disappointed in the overarching story: I was hoping Judy would be more of a menace like they were priming her to be, and I can’t believe they didn’t even show us the KaoMaya corporate bonding retreat… The most this route did was give Class B more of a spotlight, but even then they were kind of just reaffirming their intentions without going through much of a real arc. El Dorado was fun, and the music was great, but it being truncated also left me wanting more. (And this is unfair to El Dorado, but Salvatore’s backstory was so similar to Ouyang’s from She Who Became the Sun that I was expecting a similar arc trajectory, only to be somewhat let down when it wasn’t as brutal as SWBTS lol. But maybe that’ll be different in the full version of El Dorado.)

Watched the Make Some Noise episode with Brennan, Jacob, and Lou and goddd it was so funny. The three of them have great energy together.

Read through both volumes of Until I Love Myself, and it was a pretty well told and moving memoir. I appreciated the care that the mangaka put towards depicting the differences in other people’s experiences and how they may have gaps in their own knowledge, but their commitment to connecting with others is inspiring to see. I would give it a 7/10 overall.

I picked up Potion Permit again. I had bought it in like 2023 and played the shit out of it, but seeing that the dev team was still constantly pushing out pretty major updates, I wanted to wait until it was more complete to play it again. Fast forward to now, where my friend got Fields of Mistria on early access and streamed it to me because I was also interested in the game…it’s cute looking, but I think the issue with a lot of indie games is that their art direction is gorgeous but their writing suffers. And considering how I only play farming sims if there’s a Love Interest I want to date, and how none of Mistria’s options really interest me right now (and the lack of multiplayer)…I probably won’t pick it up in the future. But seeing the various items you can collect and running around doing tasks made me nostalgic for Potion Permit, hence the return of my potion madness. More on it when this gaming binge session ends.

Potion Permit’s got me in a vice grip. It’s undeniably a mediocre game, but there’s something about it that really compels me. People have called it grindy and unfinished, and that much is true, but I love grinding the resources and fighting the creatures and doing my little tasks around town in the most efficient way possible and levelling up my bonds with the villagers. I think I just like the conceit of being an apothecary more than being a farmer – I love making potions and supplying them and doing little puzzles as a break away from the regular gameplay. Writing wise it definitely struggles a little, as most of the bond stories aren’t that deep or engaging (Matheo’s romance path is like the only one that has any real chemistry). I feel like there’s an outline of a personality for each character, but their dialogue writing just doesn’t do those personalities justice (the writing voices aren’t strong, and sometimes there are grammatical oddities that make things sound off). Also there’s just way too many characters. Did we really need two sets of “doubles”? And have all four of their names start with D??? Despite of all my gripes, however, I can get sucked into playing this game for hours on end…I’m probably going to go until I max rank everyone’s bond levels and then consider the game complete lol. 7/10.
