Night Lotus -1 Grave visit

Thea was in the cemetery, so lost in thought that she hadn't even fully realized it was raining. Even though the Drakes weren't her biological family, they had raised her, so on every anniversary of their deaths, she would go to the cemetery and pay her respects by staying there all day. She was praying with her hands together in front of her. The rain was hitting her body, but she wasn't responding. Suddenly, the rain stopped hitting her. A familiar voice said, "You should have brought an umbrella with you, Nix." Thea remained silent. The person behind her continued to hold the umbrella for her. There was someone around her age with long blue hair and a ponytail behind her. There was a tall person. He was quite tall for her. He was wearing a suit. He held the umbrella for her, not caring that he was getting wet. A man with green hair called him "boss." He handed the man a hooded cloak and another umbrella. The man took the cloak and put it on Thea. Then he took the umbrella. Tim mumbled a silent thank you.

Jason was a little grumpy today. They had learned 2 things a few weeks ago. The first was that the substitute was not a boy but a girl. The other was that she was B's biological daughter, no, he didn't discriminate between boys and girls and he definitely didn't discriminate between stepchildren. But the fact that B didn't say anything on purpose was driving him crazy. How could he not say anything. Tim had moved into the mansion 2 weeks ago, leaving his disguise behind. "Thea," Jason reminded himself. Tim had been a sensitive subject since Tim had returned from searching for Bruce. Especially since he had come back blind. The news that he would be returning to the mansion had relieved Jason of the stress of where he was living and how he was living. *He's only 17 and he has to live with that* he thought.

Damian was very surprised by the fact that he had a sister. But Thea didn't seem to care about him. The reason he was so concerned about Thea today was because she had left the house so early in the morning and still hadn't shown up. It was almost midnight, it was raining and Shrimp still hadn't shown up.

He turned to Bruce who had come to the cave. "Where is she? She disappears without even telling you. She never calls until almost midnight and you don't say anything," Bruce said. "Thea? Today was the anniversary of her adoptive parents' deaths. She went to pay her respects to them. She does it every year. She stays there all day," he said. Her clothes were wet as if they had been out in the rain for a while.

Jason was startled "Did you leave her there all alone? In this rain? Did she even bring an umbrella?" Bruce asked. "First of all, she can protect herself. And I know where she is. I know she's safe. Secondly, even though she prefers to be alone at times like this, I'm coming from there. I went to check on her and gave her an umbrella. But she wasn't alone and the person with her brought an umbrella." Jason said "Who? Cass?" Bruce said. "No. You don't know her." Jason asked "So you know her?" Bruce said "Yeah. He's not bad. A childhood friend of Thea's." Jason asked "A boy?" Bruce said "Yeah, he's a year and a half older than her."

Jason's eyebrows raised "There's something between them," he guessed. Bruce said "Not exactly. At least not yet." Jason asked "Have you met her?" Bruce nodded "She introduced me and Alfred a long time ago."

Damian said as they went down to the cave "who are you talking about" Jason said "shrimp's possible boyfriend" Bruce sighed "is that what you're calling him" he said with a groan. Damian said "wait boyfriend? who approved it? did she get it from her parents" Talia had joined the family for a while and had set her sights on Thea even before she moved in. She seemed to be planning on taking over. But Thea hadn't really warmed up to her yet. The ones she was close with in the family were Cass, Alfred and Bruce.

Bruce said "there's nothing really going on between them yet and Alfred and I met him a long time ago. He's Thea's childhood friend. They've known each other even longer than I did" Damian's eyebrows furrowed "is he a good fit for our family? And does he know who we are?" he asked.

Bruce said, "Oh, he's a man who has built his own money and his own place by his own fingernails. He's talented, skilled, and intelligent. He knows who we are but we didn't tell him. He figured it out on his own. He respects and follows traditions." Jason's eyebrows raised, "But what?" he asked. There was a but in Bruce's tone. Bruce said, "He's founded a very secret organization that even those who know know very little about. The organization of information and assassins. It's called night lotus. They don't do the second part unless they have to and they don't mess with innocents, but I can say that they're quite talented." Jason said, "Wait! What? You're putting your daughter with someone like that," he said, surprised.

Damian said, "I've never heard of such a group." A voice said, "Because it's a secret group. And no one finds out unless they want to. And they're also quite helpful." It was Alfred. Jason looked over and asked, "What do you mean?" Bruce said "There was an incident a few years ago. A group of Atlanteans and Amazonians disappeared there was a lot of chaos no one knew where they were".

Dick said "I remember that incident" Cass said Steph and Barbara seemed to have been listening to the conversation for a while. They were looking over there curiously. Cass said "I'll have to talk to your little sister's friend". Talia was squinting at Bruce in the corner. She didn't seem to be happy that this hadn't been mentioned before. Bruce said "Don't look at me like that Lia. Lucas and Thea met when she wanted to. She's not someone who comes here that often. Thea just started living here after all".

Jason laughed *someone's in trouble* he thought. Bruce said "well let's get back to the topic. No one could find them there was no trace of them. A month later Thea brought us some information. It was from an anonymous source" Jason asked "I mean from that group". Bruce said, "Yes. The information was this. A cargo ship would dock at a port in nature in 2 days and the cargo would be the missing Atlantis and Amazonians. When we found the ship. They were indeed there. But there was no crew. Just the Amazons and Atlanteans in the compartment. We followed the ship's course and such but there was no sign of any other ship or anything else. The captors confirmed that there was a crew on the ship at first. The ones who locked them up there were the ones who captured them. But there was no sign of them. Not a single sound of fighting was heard down there." Jason said, "What do you mean you're telling me they did it?" Alfred said, "As far as I know, the bodies are lying at the bottom of the ocean somewhere along the ship's course." They looked at each other in surprise.

Tim had finally left the family cemetery. He was holding the elbow of the young man next to him, his other hand holding a walking stick. The young man was holding an umbrella over them both. "Are you okay, Nix?" he asked. Thea said, "Yeah. It was just a mentally tiring day. Thanks for being there for me Lucas." Lucas said, "Always. You should take better care of yourself. If you were out in the rain, you would have caught a cold." Thea said, "I'm sorry. I didn't even notice the rain. I was lost in thought." Lucas said, "No problem." He helped her into the big black SUV. The green haired man sitting in the driver's seat said, "Ms. Thea, you should take more care of yourself." Thea said, "I'm sorry Glen. I'll be more careful next time. You were a bother too. You and Nora got dragged here after Lucas." The orange haired woman sitting next to Glen said, "Oh Miss Thea, it's absolutely fine. The boss was making us work overtime again. It's good to get out and get some fresh air." Lucas said sarcastically. "I can always make you a delivery person or a runner, then you'll get plenty of fresh air." The two of them gasped and said, "Boss, you can't do that." Thea and Lucas laughed. Glen and Nora were Lucas' closest people. Thea was very close with them. Lucas could easily joke around with them. Nora looked like the receptionist of the headquarters and Glen looked like the package delivery guy; Nora was a very powerful wizard and melee artist who was the protector and guard of the headquarters, while Glen was a very skilled swordsman and melee master who delivered the most important information and packages. They finally arrived at the mansion. Lucas opened the door and helped Thea get out of the jeep. Glen said, "See you soon, Miss Boss." Nora said, "Don't forget to come to headquarters soon." Lucas escorted Thea to the door of the mansion. He knocked on the door. After a while, the door opened.

#YEAH YESSSS their two most touching moments are both moments of straight-up lying to each other it makes me INSANE #and yet on a SPIRITUAL level they are telling the truth because they are expressing authentic feelings in the moment!! #but also they are both completely full of it dsfdsfdsfds

#it's like.... they can get riiiiight up to the edge of not trusting each other #not in the sense of 'i think you're a bad person' #but in the sense of not having total confidence tim can be trusted to make the right choices (dick) #or not having total confidence that dick actually cares or values him (tim)

#and this sucks for them because tim is really upset by the prospect of people not trusting him to make his own choices #and dick is really upset by the prospect of people not trusting that he actually cares about them!!

#but then!! the thing is!! they actually do believe in each other deep down even though they forget that sometimes #so then you get these very genuinely-felt expressions of retrospective faith #that they didn't actually really feel in the moment but which they feel NOW because now that they're not anxious it feels obvious

#and like. dick did back off and let tim make the choice. tim did back down and ask dick for help. #so they're able to bend juuuuuust enough that it works & then all the very real affection covers over the gaps

#this is also what i love about wwx + jc in the lotus pier show btw. their two big touching moments are shamelessly lying to each other #questionable-gaslighting-but-it's-out-of-love my beloved sdfsdfs <3 #it's the key to my heart. when in doubt fictional characters should always lie to each other about the most important things. ok sorry I just have to yell about this real quick -

Nightwing (Vol. 2) #139 - The Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul, part 6 Dick: "I let you make the choice for yourself...because I knew you'd make the right one."

Dick didn't know shit, lmao!! "Because I knew you'd make the right one" my ass lol.

Let's rewind two minutes shall we:

Dick: "Tim... Listen... There are no easy answers... But you have the right to make the choice for yourself." || Dick (internal narration): "No-win. If I stop him, I don't trust him. If he goes through with it, I shouldn't have trusted him. C'mon, Tim..."

He doesn't know what choice Tim is going to make, whether his grief will overcome him and he'll take the Lazarus water or not, and has in fact been physically fighting Tim this entire issue to stop him by force. But ultimately he knows it's Tim's right to choose for himself, and decides to hope, and have faith in his brother.

And he has that faith rewarded, and reaffirms it afterward, despite the fact that he wasn't sure.

And paralleling that moment of "yes of course I knew you had it":

Red Robin (2009) #12 Dick: "How'd you know? How did you know I'd be there to save you?" || Tim: "You're my brother, Dick. You'll always be there for me."

At least not consciously! Being caught by Dick is certainly not something he planned for, as he seems to be trying to imply.

Again, rewind:

Tim (internal narration): "I did it. I saved the people he loved. I saved everything he worked so hard to build. No compromises. He won't say anything, he never does. But I know. I know that Bruce will be proud of me. Not a bad day." || Tim: (in the midst of pASSING TF OUT) || Dick: (swoops in and catches him)

Tim may not have actually known that Dick would be there. But that catch... A falling Tim being caught by Dick is a motif that occurs over and over and over across the years of their relationship. Why do I feel like there's a part of Tim, faint as he faded out, and much stronger when he woke up, that went, "Oh, it's Dick - of course if it was anyone, I knew it would be Dick"?

After their conflicts and miscommunications in this arc, after Tim sweeping back into town and explaining not a single thing as he races to thwart Ra's, despite Dick's frustrated pleas, after cutting Dick off with a simple, "Batman...trust me," and Dick's responding, "Of course"....

Tim feeling like he knew, even if he didn't know, or plan, or expect. Because that's his brother. And choosing to express that trust, after Dick chose to trust him...

Just. Dick and Tim. Verbally reaffirming their faith in each other, even after in-the-moment doubts. BROTHERS. My emotions.

How to Play Wicked Grace - The Rules

Alright. As promised, I will finally go into trying to fully construct how to play Wicked Grace. I spent this week overthinking this game and annoying pretty much everyone I know with my ramblings about this game. I went so far mainly about what the full deck looks like, and about the card values within it. And let me quickly update the list of cards, as I changed around some of the card names to fit better with the established lore.

So, let me quickly for once list up the cards. In my analysis the Wicked Grace card game is a card game with a deck of 4 suits, each of them featuring 15 cards, making the deck 60 cards in total. The suits are Serpents (also called Drakes), Angels (also called Spirits), Knights (also called Blades) and Songs.

Other than with a Poker Deck, the cards are not mainly the same in every suite, but unique to every suite, as rather than focusing on numbers, they are focusing on mythological and magical themes. The cards are:

Other than suits, the cards have themes. I am going to assume that primarily the cards usually are considered to have three different themes: Emotions/Spirits, Cycles of Nature, and Higher Powers. I am going to assume the Flower Cards are going to be considered Jokers, and can be counted to each theme as wanted.

However, within each theme, there is also always cards that are very closely related in the Cycles of Nature and the Higher Powers, while among the Emotion themes at least the positive and negative emotions can be grouped together. Just keep that in mind, as I go into the further rules! 😊

I reckon that the game given that it seems to have 60 cards could be played with up to 12 people, though in that case I am going to assume the rules would need to be adjusted given that you definitely can swap out cards. It might however be – we see that in the scenes – that in those cases there might just be a way of exchanging cards between the players.

How to Play

However, assuming we have six or less players, I do reckon that the game usually goes like this:

The deck is shuffled.

Everyone receives five cards.

Every player can switch cards, putting cards from their own hand onto the table and either drawing from the deck, or taking cards from the pile of cards discarded by other players before. (I am going to assume, that the cards are always face down and that playing them face up, as you can see it some people do in the game, is considered cheating.)

Every player gets a chance to switch out cards in the same order (probably clockwise or counter clockwise).

Once a person places a bet, everyone else can either go along or forfeit.

After the bet is placed, everyone has one chance to swap cards one more time – after that last swap deciding on whether to hold the bet or not.

After everyone has either gone in or dropped out, the cards of everyone in are compared and the person with the highest rated hand gets to take the betted money (or whatever everyone is betting on).

I am assuming this will then be repeated until nobody has anything left to bet with. As it often is with such gambling!

Now, the final question is: Who wins?

Winning Hands

Firstly, the table I am using above can be found in GoogleDocs. You can use it, if you want to.

Now, it does seem reasonable to assume, that generally speaking some of the rules of Poker apply. We know that much from the dialogue. To be exact we know:

Having two of the same suit is a pair, and gives points.

Having three of the same is a triple and gives points.

From this I am going to assume that having four or five of the same suit also gives points.

If two people have the same number of cards o the same suit, the person who manages to get cards not just of a suit, but also of the same “theme” will win a tie.

It also seems to be reasonable to assume that each card has an individual point value, so the higher valued cards will with a tie also win out over lower valued cards.

Additionally, the dialogues in Inquisition imply heavily, that the suits also have different values – however, we have no idea how those values go. My personal hunch would be Serpents < Knights < Angels < Songs, just based on mythology, but it is just a hunch.

We also know, that there have to be some sort of combinations like in Hanafuda, where certain combinations of three or more cards have also their own values.

So, generally I will assume that the following combinations will give you points:

Five cards of the same suit will have the highest value.

Followed by four cards of the same suit.

Followed by a triplet and a pair.

Followed by just a triplet.

Followed by two pairs.

Followed by one pair.

Again: you will get more points, if they are from the same theme.

Also, I am going to assume that if you collect:

All four seasons

All four cycles of life

All four times of day

All four aspects of Rule

All four weapons

All four concepts

That is going to be also worth some sort of points. However, I am not fully sure whether those are worth more than five of the same suit. Mathematically they should be (it is a lot harder to get four specific cards out of 60 than any five out of twelve from the same set of 60), but we also know that not always to gambling rules follow math.

However, we also know that there are special combinations (again, like Hanafuda) that have specific point values). The one we know is this hand from Isabela:

“I have three angels: fortitude, truth, and charity, and the knight of dawn. I win!”

So, I am going to call this combination “The Brave Knight at Dawn”, because those kinds of combinations usually are going to have some sort of name. I am also going to assume that it needs the knight of dawn and the angel of fortitude, but will do with any other two positive emotion angels.

I am also going to assume one other thing: I am thinking that these combinations might actually differ depending on where in Thedas you are. Because in games where there are more storytelling heavy combinations, this is a thing that happens a lot in real life: There are combinations that makes sense in a very specific context, but not in others. And if you really wanna have fun, given that in most DA games the characters come from different backgrounds, you totally could write a story of a fun game of Wicked Grace, that ends up being a big ass argument about which combinations are legal and which are not. I would find that hilarious!

Execution of the Innocent: Serpent of Judgement, Angel of Death, Angel-Drawn Bow, and Song of Dispair

The Age of Dragons: The Serpent of the Forgotten, the Song of Fires, the Angel of Pride, and the Knight of Rage

I hope you get what I am trying to get at. As I said, technically we just know that some sort of those combinations exist. And given we only know one of them that exists in canon, we can pretty much come up with whatever. :P

But yeah, I am going to assume these are generally speaking the rules of how this game is played.

And I am also going to assume that there are at least five other games played with the same sort of deck. I might at some point think about those as well – but not today. For today, I will just leave it at this, and hope I helped someone to clear this out for some sort of fanfic.

Draken waits patiently outside of your house for you to open the door and bless him with your beautiful face. This was going to be the first time he came to your house. He was pretty nervous. Can you believe The Draken is nervous?

Finally the wait seemed to be over when the wooden door opened, revealing your adorable form. You were almost drowning in the sage green hoodie that you were wearing, paired with matching socks.

Your face lit up when you saw your giant but gentle boyfriend, "Draken, you are here? Come in, come in."

You grabbed his arm and pulled him inside, shutting the door behind with your leg. Draken chuckled at your antics. Someday you will be the death of him. You can stab him with a knife and he will let you.

You dragged him to your bedroom where you were going to watch the new airing anime with him. You were so excited to spend some time with your boyfriend and enjoy the anime.

"Sit here."

You told him to get comfortable as you fetch your laptop. In no time Draken was sitting in the middle of the bed with his back resting on the headboard and you were sitting between his legs, your back on his chest.

Draken had his hands wrapped around your shoulder, caressing his thumb over it occasionally. Your attention was on the laptop in your lap while he had his on you. Don't get him wrong, he did like anime but this one was just not his type.

He tightened his hold, pulling you in his chest even more. He buried his face in your nape, taking a long breath. But his face soon turned into a frown. Draken took another sniff and the frown deepened.

Your hoodie smelled of a men's cologne. Draken knew because Sanzu always wears this one. But since when do you like this kind of smell? Till today he knew that you liked floral scents and this was anything but floral.

Draken stopped himself before he concluded something stupid. You were not the type to cheat. You were too nice and kind to cheat. Yes, nothing happened. You probably tried something new.

Draken reassured himself but that quickly broke when his looked to the side. On your nightstand, there is a photo framed in gold. The picture is of you with a guy, not much older than Draken himself.

The problem isn't that. The problem is you had your arm wrapped around his neck while he had his around your waist. You were kissing his cheeks and he was wearing the sage green hoodie you had on right now.

Were you really cheating on him? Was he not enough? Did you even love him?

Draken could feel his heart breaking into millions of pieces. You were the light of his dark heart. A fresh breath of air in his suffocating life. But now he was not even sure whether all this was even true.

His hold around you loosened, diverting your attention from the anime to his, now loose, arm.

You turned your head to the side, "Draken, What happened?"

Your expression morphed into a confused one when he didn't answer. You called him a few more times but he remained silent. You could feel something was wrong. Draken never ignored you. Even if he is fighting someone, if you call, he would pay all his attention to you.

You paused the video, put the laptop on the bed and turned to him, still between his legs, "Draken?"

His head was hung low, so you could not see his face, a dark shadow casted on it. You brought yourself down and saw his face, only to gasp. Draken was clenching his jaw hard to not let the glistening tears that had gathered in eyes fall. His lips were pressed in a tight line, trying to suppress the sobbs.

"O my gosh! Draken?" You panicked as you cupped his face in your hands and tilted it up, "What's wrong baby?"

Draken refused to meet your eyes as he stuttered with a breaking voice, "A-are……..are, are you ch-cheating on me?"

His voice reduced to whispers at the end. Your eyes widened with shock at his acquisition.

"No, why would you think that?" You asked, wiping the falling water down his face.

He brought his both hands up and gripped your hoodie by the waist, "Who-se h-hoodie is this?"

You tilted your head slightly, which Draken would find endearing had he not been looking down, "My brother's, see."

You said as you pointed at the same photo on the nightstand. His head snapped up hearing your answer. He followed your finger pointing and saw the photo. Suddenly Draken felt so stupid. Of course you would never cheat on him, or anyone else for that matter. You can't even lie to save your life.

Suddenly Draken threw his hand around you, pulling you in his chest and catching up off guard. His head buried in your neck. You could feel him taking deep breath. You wrapped your arm around his torso, running a palm on his back to calm him down.

What am I going to do with this gentle giant?

You shake your head. As you understand the sudden behaviour of Draken, you fail to surpress the laugh and before you know, you were cracking up like there's no tomorrow.

"Hahaha, Draken you really thought I was cheating on you?" You almost choke on your words, "You accused me of cheating and now you are the one crying? O you cry baby."

Draken gave you a tight squeeze, "Stop making fun of me."

"Ok ok, you cry baby." You said but made no move to actually do so.

Draken pulled his head back, glaring at you, "Will you stop?"

You nod but the pout on his face made laugh even move, "The great Draken is crying."

"So you want to laugh huh? Let's see just how much you can."

In a flash you were lying on the bed on your back and Draken hovered over you. Draken slammed his lips on yours. The teste of your lip balm filled his senses. His plams slides up your hand to your palms and interwinded your fingers, holding you in his firm hold.

He broke the kiss and drifted kisses down your throat, drawing moans out of you. You throw your head back to give him more space. His touch glided at the base of your throat.

"Uh-nn……. Draken, fuck!" You whispered. Your legs automatically wrapping around his waist.

"Why aren't laughing anymore huh baby? Cat caught your tongue?" Draken taunted.

You watched with confusion as he released his hold on you and got off the bed.

Draken started walking out of the room, "Good bye, baby. I have to go meet Mikey."

"Wait! Draken Where are you going?" You shouted, panicking, "You can't leave like this. What about me?"

Draken turned his head back to face you and said with a teasing tone, "You should have thought about that before making fun of me."

With that he walking walking out of the house, leaving you hot and horny. His lips curled up to a smirk when he heard your frustrated scream. This was your punishment but he will make sure to take care of you tonight. So much that even your parents will hear how much of a whore their daughter is for him.

Call it mindless, yet we all (in some sorta way) do it. It'd been a minute since anything had been posted for Azine. Supposing it appeared as though only reviews about Ye, Drake, Billie, or Taylor were worthwhile, it still felt integral to take my time. I'd go as far as to say that my creative nuances were both amusingly and unapologetically unafraid of patience. Cut to what one could curate as chancing upon the profile for Canadian singer, songwriter, and dancer Kallitechnis's Ardene interview on YouTube. While snuggly lotus sedentary in a lounge chair Kassandra (a.k.a Kallitechnis) sorted words on some pretty deep stuff. (See, I'm the type to keen in what artists fr say alongside of winnowing amid whatever it is they craft.) All her talk about authenticity, longevity, and even therapy, backdrops her latest Single releases, to delicately while devoutly dream weave some of the most sensational late night Trap Alt. Soul/R&B that I'd ever heard. After hours of zoning out on Spotify & Apple Music, I'd seemingly stumbled upon a mound of sound designs showcasing that Kallitechnis latest releases, "KALEDISCOPE LOVE" & "SOFT LIFE, are sonic gems worthy of ethereal shine. 

"KALEDIOSCOPE LOVE" is the most recent release by Kallietechnis.  Lyrically it's the lift off elements of romance dazzled in the depth of the "bedsheet ballets'" that hopefully accompany it. If you tap script Kallie's verses here, it'll literally take your breathe away. This 2024 Soul Over Ego Single release paints a sensual sonata, saturated in the palates of lovemaking by the likes of a Jhene Aiko, Victoria Monet, & fav Kehlani. My cherished over the two songs is the latter 2023 released, "SOFT LIFE", where the copulation carved crooning by Kallitechnics feels more assured in its contour.  Lyrics like, "Cocoa butter kisses on the back of your neck...No ones around, go and say it with your chest." sets up a between the sheet session, where direction details desire and more importantly: pleasures for both parties. The hedonism hails heavy here, and when ya place that alongside of Kassnadra's visceral vocal layerings, you're insatiably sedated into this ‘sensational style of life’ she's sojourning. 

Both releases mode just a mere of the music you can muse through courtesy of Kallitechnis. For me it's the completeness interwoven in the listening experience of these two tracks. Detailing what it takes to call yourself professional in this or any realm is something I valued early on. The attention to detail, care, production, and most importantly the passion, tentpole sound designing success for any act whether indie or not. On that note, Kassandra does something else, almost effortlessly. She ate, and fanged deep into the fact that there are stars who are not signed. Stars: real artists who are crafting carefree of what seemingly fates, what often lacerates acts who sign with labels. Definitively, I'm the late night type. I'm good either playing the pull while out, or layinlow at the cribbo, playlsitin' on the MacBook with Apple TV or YouTube dressing the backdrop. Either in or out, this pair of indie soul sounds soothe both the mind, as well as those other places the sensations may align.😉

An excerpt from the loosey goosey plot of the One Piece fic I'm writing. I'm doing what I have to do to make Ace live. He's just too hot to die.

Lotus reached a hand out to touch Ace's face. She was hesitant, she didn't really have permission she knew, but she couldn't stop herself. He was her inspiration into giving it her all into being a pirate. Even though her devil fruit power made it harder to be on the ocean, even though her power wasn't handy in a fight. But he made a name for himself the same time that Shanks had rescued her and Rika from the shipwreck that took the lives of their families. Reading about him brought her some amount of joy when she felt as if she'd never be happy again. His death was almost like losing her family all over again.

He was still warm. Her brow furrowed and she traced her hand towards his nose and mouth.

Air. Shallow and uneven and barely noticeable. But it was there.

When Thea finally got out of the bathroom after taking a shower and getting dressed, Cass was still there. She was looking at the window, it was a little different from the windows in the house. The window was just inside and was full of perches. Cass looked at it in surprise and said "birds". Thea said "Oh you saw the perches". Cass went over to the window and looked at it curiously. Tim took out some bird food from a drawer with his hand. Just as she was about to speak, there was a knock on the door. Thea asked "Who". Jason asked "It's me. Are you free shrimp?" Thea sighed at the name but said "Yes you can come in I am free". Jason opened the door "Hey shrimp. Alfred is calling for dinner and asked me to let him know when the tea is ready" Thea said "Okay I'll come just to fill the feeders" Cass said "Me too" she fumbled with the sleeve of her pajamas. Thea asked "Do you want to help" Cass said "Yes". Jason said "Good room shrimp do you need help?" He came over to them. Thea said "You can take the ones on top". Jason helped them. Actually, his aim was to have a long interrogation at first but his priority was to help the shrimp. When he was done, Thea said "Thank you". Cass said "Sure. Why don't I have something like that in my room?" Jason said "I agree". Thea said "There aren't any birds that haunt you because even if there wasn't this they would settle in the trees around my house. B and Alfred helped me build it a long time ago". Jason looked at her curiously. Finally they left the room. Jason's gaze was on her. He wanted to make sure he didn't bump into anything or trip. Finally they came to the kitchen. Alfred asked "Did you eat while you were out". Tim said "No not yet". Alfred said "Thea". Thea said "Sorry my mind was on something else". Alfred sighed "Thea what did doctor Leslie say about eating" he asked. Thea said "I shouldn't miss my meals I'm already extremely thin. "And it's making my health worse and if it gets worse it's putting my life at risk," she said, her voice getting quieter. "How long have you been anorexic babybird?" Dick asked. Thea said, "No. But after being malnourished for so long I can't even remember to eat." Warning bells were going off in Jason's head. He and Dick looked at each other and they both seemed to be thinking the same thing. Dick said, "I understand babybird. You need to be more careful. If you need any help just let us know okay?" He asked. He smiled warmly. But his fist was clenched. He couldn't reassure his sister with his smile anymore. Thea said, "Thanks Dick." He was about to sit down on the chair when the doorbell rang. Damian went to the door. He frowned at the person standing in the hallway. It was Glen. Glen said, "Good evening I'm here to deliver a package to Nix. I was about to G-- when Thea arrived. Thea asked, "Is everything okay Glen?" Glen said, "Hey Nix the boss sent you some sweets and snacks. He suspects you forgot to eat again, and I think he's right. So we thought it would be good for your appetite," Thea said. "Thanks Glen. Please tell Nora and Lucas that I thanked them." Glen said. "Of course." Damian narrowed his eyes at Glen. Dick and Jason were behind them. Damian said in a condescending tone. Glen said, "I don't need a real sword to deal damage to someone, and the fact that only a real sword is needed means that your skill isn't developed enough in my opinion. Also, unlike a real sword, I can always carry it with me," he said without even batting an eye at the large duo behind them. Damian said, "Are you underestimating me? You're just too egotistical for a delivery boy," his body moved to jump on him. But before he could move, Thea stopped him before he could do something stupid. Thea said, "Thanks again Glen. I'm keeping the three of you busy despite your busy schedule."
