Every night, at exactly 1:27 AM, I sit bolt upright. I find myself cold and shaking, and muttering to myself. I’m plagued by a single thought. Why is there a cardboard cutout of Ennard in Security Breach: Ruin?
And the worst part? I always end up laughing about it. Why is there a cardboard Cutout of Ennard? Only Michael has seen them and he probably wouldn’t want that. Who put it there?
I don’t know what these thoughts mean. All I know is it happens every night. And then I roll over and go back to sleep.

in case the odds against LO's TV show happening weren't stacked enough as it is
also for some reason there are only copyright numbers for the first four books of lore olympus so that's ... weird. that's weird, right??

thinking about how steve was homophobic and misogynistic in s1 but they gave him a chance to be faced with a demogorgon when people needed help and he stepped up. everyone lauds him for that, and he's become a fan favourite. yet when billy, finally in his right mind after being possessed the whole season, gets the opportunity and chooses to do the same--stepping up to take a killing blow for el--people dont offer him the same grace? why. :(
the biggest (reasonable) argument is always 'billy dying was not a redemption' and it's not, you're right. steve stepping in to whack a demogorgon with jonathan's nail bat wasnt a redemption either; his redemption came with him apologizing to them both, and then working to show nancy that he's a better person as they deal with the fallout of s1, and being gracious about jonathan's presence in nancy's life. he got the chance to show he's changed and managed to redeem himself because he lived, and billy unfortunately didnt. but you cant deny that his final moments proved that the potential for him to change is there, and that makes a difference.

Google how to make peace with the fact that you will always be vaguely to extremely uncomfortable (depending on the day) with your body and how others perceive it until the day you die and nothing you do will ever change that

wip intro/masterpost - the raedoran cycle
hi hello here it is. my baby.
genre: fantasy
pov: third person limited, with various narrators throughout
status: a series of 4 novels/stories, in various states of drafting
summary: in one night, Raedora is thrown into chaos. the royal librarian murders the queen and her youngest daughter with magic and flees, leaving behind the king and the crown princess to pick up the pieces. the princess spirals slowly into madness as her sworn shield tries to save her, terrified of her dead sister's prophecy.
two thieves in the capital set their sights on the crown jewels after attending the queen's coronation. but when one gets a little too reckless and catches the attention of the Mad Dog of Morbhard, their plans quickly go off the rails.
when their parents are killed in the Dragon Purges, two shapeshifters must hide amongst their killers to survive. one, a talented healer, tries to build a life that will be safe for them, but her little brother has his sights set on avenging their parents by murdering the queen that ordered their deaths.
a young witch is raised alone by her father, always in hiding, with strange dreams and visions of the future. when he dies of an illness even her magic can't heal, she must strike out on her own, searching for answers to the prophecy that has followed her for her whole life.

status: it's complicated. this where all the original material lives for the most part so it's outlined(sort of??) and i've been writing scenes for it but idk what the actual timeline of events is and i've changed a LOT since i started. so it's a frankendraft mess. we'll get there eventually.

Context for non-Ohioans: On August 8th we're having a vote on something called Issue 1 which would change the voter majority on amendments to the Ohio constitution from 50% to 60% (!!!). This is something conservatives want to see pass because in November there's going to be a vote on the bill to codify legal abortion into the Ohio constitution. Ohio's split almost 50/50 on abortion rights, meaning if Issue 1 passes and raises the voter majority then there's no way legal abortion will get amended into our constitution.
Steve Chabot, the skeevy republican in the video here, lost his reelection to a democrat. Chabot was pro-Trump.

I love learning ASL it’s so good. Makes me happy to learn it. I’m so glad my university has classes for it with professors actually steeped in Deaf culture.
#blue chatter#am I good at ASL? hahahahahahaha. no.#ASL and English grammar are incredibly different and even when I remember my vocab I am easily clockable as hearing#but I do have some language capacity now. enough to communicate the basics.#and I just. genuinely really enjoy it. it’s fun to learn and engaging in a way most of my classes just aren’t.#and I can. yanno. communicate respectfully w Deaf ppl. and learn about their culture#which is incredibly important given that I want to go into a field where there is a higher incidence than typical of Deaf people#autistic? you’re more likely to be Deaf!#not to mention the fact that sign language can sometimes be a useful alternative to speech for nonspeaking/nonverbal people#depending on the person obvi; some nonspeaking/nonverbal autistics cannot use sign language and that’s okay#but surely at some point I will encounter either a Deaf client or a nonspeaking/nonverbal client who uses ASL#and when that time comes I should have some idea of how to communicate with them#I also rly like the Deaf church by my parents’ house#their community is really welcoming and their services are really interesting#I think it’s rly cool how they take intentions directly from the congregation#they’ll raise their hands and then sign what their intention is from their pew to the ambo#which is rly neat#it is funny bc every time I go the Deaf ppl I talk to will tell each other ‘go slow she’s hearing’#which is ENTIRELY fair bc. I am hearing. and I do need them to go slower.#but it also makes me laugh bc truly everyone knows within a few minutes.#oh hey the new person? they’re hearing. yeah they’re learning ASL at college. sign slowly for her.#which again makes sense bc a big Deaf culture thing is keeping ppl informed. it’s not gossip it’s getting everyone on the same page.#Deaf ppl do NOT beat around the bush that is like the height of rudeness to them. u say what u mean goshdangit. do not waste their time.#which I appreciate the heck out of bc i don’t have to try and phrase things delicately or w/e#it was also funny bc my mom came w me while I was home for Christmas and they asked her if I was her kid#and she said yes. and the lady running the kid’s craft corner thing was like ‘great you’re doing a craft now’#and I’m sitting there. visibly over 18 years old. amongst several seven year olds. trying desperately to figure out how to say hot glue gun#I made a v pretty pinecone tree it was a lot of fun ^-^

Listen everyone has their own metric for what good writing is and isn’t but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t get me down a little to see one of my faves dragged through the mud by both haters and fans alike on a pretty much weekly basis
#yes this is about Salvatore#I don’t mean this to say you can’t dislike or hate his work because that’s valid too#I just mean that he’s become one of those writers where it’s okay and trendy to shit on him and he’s popular enough that it’s excused#I feel like there’s a lot of irl fans who crap on him because they inherently don’t like the over-the-top rule-of-cool style that is FR#and it’s okay to not be into that side of fantasy#but you aren’t the superior reader because you love GRRM-esque super serious grim dark content#also I haven’t personally met a long running series where I loved every single book or plot point#it’s pretty normal when you look at a 40 book series to find that some arcs/books are a bit better than others#and I feel like people jump on certain books and take it as ‘see? any talent he ever had has gone down the drain’#like my dude it’s okay if you didn’t love a few of the books just skip and move on#add to that he’s a prolific writer in general and I’m sure some books got more time and effort from him than others#it’s fine and normal and not a sign that he’s the worse ever ffs#also there’s a part of me that doesn’t like comparing authors working in shared worlds to authors writing totally independently#because some plot points are set by the publisher before pen ever hits the paper#and again you don’t have to think Salvatore or anyone is a good writer#but I always factor it in when I see plots that seem to come out of nowhere and the like#anyways that’s my rant lmao#constructive criticism of any writer is fine and I’m not knocking that before anyone gets their knickers twisted

Lmaooo so pretty much since I started, my work friend who works in the freezer/cooler sections has been trying to get me to come help over there (I actually cannot as I am not SAFE certified. He knows this but still it's just a running joke) and the other week I was working Health and Beauty and he was like "hey hey hey uh uh! You're supposed to help ME!" To which I said that only one person can ask a day and Bootleg already asked that day. So a couple days ago he was leaving the breakroom as I was coming in to clock in, as was our mutual work buddy who also works that area. He goes "ah ah ah you gotta help work the cooler today. See I asked before anyone else could!" To which I said "ah man, I'm not clocked in yet, doesn't count!" And went in to clock in as they left
So yesterday our mutual work buddy was like "so I heard you're coming to the cooler 👀" (again joking) and I just said "nope he's a liar. He's telling you lies man. But I heard YOU'RE coming to clothing."
We just laughed and went on with what we had been doing.
But TODAY I guess when RC came in to lunch, he was telling Homicidal Forklift Driver that I should move to the cooler. Like trying to get someone else to back them up that I should switch bc they see what a good job I do in clothing so I would be able to make the shelves look nice there too
RC was like oh hell no, I need her in clothing man. She's like the one person there who works!
To which they both said, "yeah and imagine how nice the cooler would look!"
She told them that I actually had mentioned yesterday that it didn't really sound like a bad deal, but that I'd 100% be moved back to clothing within a month bc no one but me can handle the kids section 😅
Felt nice though having people "fight" over me/praise my work sgdgdggdg getting that recognition for how well I do my job
I really dont think I'd mind working in the cooler, or fresh, but I hate having to check for close expiration dates and the boxes are so so heavy 😰
Plus I think the girl who recovers clothing second shift would kill me agsgdgdggd she'd like come in as a customer 8am on the dot and track me down to beg me to come back to clothing bc she can't handle the mess that is kids without me 😅

#i want to write for thomas and pinterest has been a really good inspo#but for some reason everything ends up being bittersweet#like#either thomas or candy aren't sure of each others feelings/ don't know if they'll be reciprocated#and yes i love yearning but sometimes i just need fluff yk#for example i have this draft of them sort of cuddling in his apartment and it was all good#but then i came across the prompt “i'm not the person you want in your life” “yes you are” and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA#like it's sad but i like it and just having them cuddle now seems quite plain to me? sort off?#istg angst always has me by the throat lol. and i know there's a lot of hurt/comfort prompts that are more heartbreaking#but i was reading this post of people talking about how thomas would attempt to racionalize his feelings before kissing candy#for the first time and yeah!!!! like he usually understands things rather quickly but there isn't a scientific method to prove you love#someone. yes there are a lot of typical signs but i think in thomas case he sees them as just another social rule he doesn't care about#/doesn't see the point of. But candy makes him understand a little better and ironically this is what ends up making him more confused#anyway. This may be a good and normal thing but I have absolutely zero regrets about having purchased the laptop last night. Like all day yesterday and even as I was buying I was going oh god should I should I not but now I’m not even having second thoughts about the huge display lmao
#SO FUCKING GLAD that I actually did some extra research rather than just going meh the one I looked at before is probably better#I think it was a SIGN that I got paid a little early for the month’s work and then like the day after the laptop I bought went on sale#(Didn’t actually pay immediately so I didn’t USE any of that money but that is besides the point)#Only with the reservation of man… it’s big… and heavy… and REALLY huge and that’s bad…#I HAD deep down been going ‘man if only there was a bigger laptop with the same specs as the one I wanna buy’#And then!!! This baby pops up!! With a big display and BETTER specs!!!!!!!!#Cannot begin to express my excitement at playing Real People Games like that hasn’t even been a POSSIBILITY#Stray is at the top of my list right next to ranch of rivershine#And also probably Elden Ring that shit looks NEAT#(Also yes there is a catch and a reason this one is cheaper even though it’s better! The one I was planning on getting had an OLED display#This one’s just a normal good old LCD display. But in all honesty that is ABSOLUTELY a sacrifice I’m willing to make lol)#z talks#not horse game#Also the fact it’s not currently in stock so I’ll be waiting almost 3 weeks for it also very much feels like a good thing#Like. I have a Date on which I can expect to Receive It. And that means I have a very set time frame for the stuff I want to do to prepare#(mainly organise my cloud storage to make sure everything’s where it should be)#(but that’s a bigger problem than it might sound like because I have a LOT of files)

#i can’t believe this conversation is still happening and i can’t believe just how difficult it is for some people to accept that he was#reacting positively to being addressed as daddy jokingly like the sign said daddy? As an address and he replied yes?#reacting to being addressed like that and probably thinking he’s just going to be fun#plus making it a point he’s reacting to a guy’s sign like that while im pretty sure he ignores a lot of women with these#like what’s the big deal why the denial and the mental gymnastics#and he literally repeated it several times bc he was like yes im listening bc the guy was just laughing#ANYWAY apparently im going to be voicing opinions today

how do you relax your neck and jaw?

tired of this headache
#tension headaches#headaches#migraines#help tag#(and yes at this point we think at least some of my migraines are being triggered by tension)#i mean i do have a muscle relaxant but i don't want to destroy my sleep schedule tonight#and surely there's gotta be an exercise or massage technique or something#when it gets this bad it's hard to get out of hunched-over jaw-clenched position because of the pain from the headache#gonna try some heat and essential oils and hope the excedrin renews my will to function#can't pinpoint exactly what's going on today but pretty sure overstimulation now results in headaches#went to some loud concerts yesterday and the fatigue hit way faster than i was expecting#(it's a bad sign when i have lost the energy to emote or finish my sentences and it's only mid-day)#and instead of a full-on migraine#i've just had this underlying headache ever since#(think i headed off the migraine by taking a nap)#but at this point it's like *what's the point* when i try to figure out what triggered a headache#because it's usually a lot of things and boils down to overtaxing myself
