"Watch it bro. It's just a character." Roman says.

"You're still a tribal asshole sometimes." JJ says with a smirk. "Gianna knows what I mean."

It's Complicated - Chapter 2

(Hank Voight x Desiree Miller)

Desiree managed to get a few things out for Mason so she could feed, bathe and change him for the night. The bassinet was assembled so he could sleep. Desiree was getting a little tired but she sat up and waited for Hank to get home. He arrived around 11pm.

"Hey, you didn't have to wait up for me." Hank says.

"My mind is racing right now. Sleep is the furthest from my mind right now. I feel so bad telling you everything this way. I'm sorry Henry." Desiree apologizes.

"Hey hey, you've got nothing to apologize for. And you don't owe me anything honey. You were under the impression that things had ended between us that summer and I understand." Hank says. "I had a great time with you and truth be told I never stopped thinking about you. I work all the time and I don't date. You know this. I'm bad at dating."

"You were always a gentleman with me." Desiree smiles at him. "I never stopped thinking about you either. Thought about you even more when I found out about Mason. His full name is Mason Henry Miller. In case you were wondering."

"He's a beautiful boy." Hank says. "And there's no doubt about him being my son. I've known you long enough to know you have no reason to lie to me. I'm glad you came back to me. Being alone screws with my head a lot."

Desiree reaches out to him and takes his hand into hers. "I don't like being alone either. It scares me." She admits as he sits down beside her and puts his arm around her. "I'm sorry it took so long to come back. I was confused and scared and didn't know what to do."

"Important thing is that you're home now. You and Mason are home and I'm gonna take good care of you both." Hank kisses her cheek. "Let me help you get situated for the night. I took a personal day tomorrow so I could be here with you guys."

Desiree nods and wraps her arms around him. She lays her head on his shoulder and remembered that familiar, comforting feeling she got when she was around him. "Thank you Henry."

"No, no. Thank you. Thank you for coming back to me." He says holding her close.

"Let's get you guys moved into my bedroom. It's more cozy and warm up there with the fire place." He says helping to move the crib upstairs along with some of Mason's other things.

That night they had managed to set up a nursery for Mason in Justin's old room and for the time being there was a crib placed into Hank's bedroom so they didn't have to go far to get him.

Desiree managed to get her things upstairs and situated in the opposite side of the walk in closet. She yawned. She hadn't slept much in the last 48 hours. Hank insisted that she stop to rest so she did. She got a shower and changed her clothes. She grabbed one of his button up shirts to slide on and crawled into bed. Hank was right there beside her. They pillow talked for a while until sleep took over.

Des let’s out a soft groan as he lifts her into the bed. She giggles at the swat to her backside as he lays her down and crawls into bed with her. She takes advantage and crawls on top of him, leaning down to kiss his lips and pin his arms down as she trails kisses down his neck and over his chest. Slipping her leg over his waist, she slowly grinds into him and moans again. “Mhm, I wanna take all of you daddy.” She leans her head back and her eyes fall closed as she rubs her heat against him. She quietly moans his name. @protectxthem

He hums softly as she crawls on top of him. He smirks at her after he kisses her back, watching her. When she pins his arms down and trails kisses down his neck and chest, a moan escapes him. A groan escapes him as she slips a leg over his waist and slowly grinds into him. “I’m going to give you all of me, baby girl.” He rolls his hips upward to grind himself against her.

It's Complicated - Chapter 1

Desiree was moving back to Chicago after giving birth to her son and hiding the pregnancy from nearly everyone. Except her own father of course. He could always tell when something was off. She'd explained the situation to him and he understood. She was young and she was the one child that always learned from her mistakes.

"Look baby girl, that man got a right to know he's got a son out here in these streets. You do what you gotta do to find him and let him know. I still love you and support you shawty. You're my baby girl. And that's my grandson. I'll make sure you're straight until you handle your business. When you find this guy bring him by and let me size him up."

"Daddy he's a police officer. He works for the city of Chicago. He's old school. This is an older guy. He's probably in his 50s. I was drunk and partying. But I had a real connection with that guy. We talked all the way up until it was time for me to leave for the summer. We did fool around and I'm sure that he's the father. He was my first and my only." Desiree says quietly.

"Go find him and make things right Des. Handle your business." Percy says giving her a hug and kissing her forehead. "I love you and be careful. You need anything don't hesitate to call on me."

"I will daddy. Thank you." Desiree says getting the last of her things into the truck and heading to start this new and unpredictable life with her son.

Arriving in Chicago, Desiree headed to the precinct where she remembered the guy said he worked at. She approached the desk with the sleeping boy in her arms and asked for him. "Hi, I'm looking for Sergeant Henry Voight?"

Trudy glances at the woman and tells her to take a seat in the empty office across the hall. She closes the door and goes upstairs. "Hank, someone's downstairs asking for you. Black female, probably in her 30s with a little boy."

"Thanks Trudy." Hank says heading downstairs. Trudy points him towards the office and he makes his way over. "I'm Sergeant Voight, you were looking for me?"

Desiree turns towards that familiar voice and she feels those butterflies in her stomach that he had always made her get. "Henry..."

"Holy shit...no way. Des?" He says stepping closer and getting a good look at her.

"Henry, it's good to see you again. I didn't think I would see you again."

"Des, I'm glad to see you. Who's this little guy?"

Desiree looks up at him with a shy look. "He's the reason why I came back here to find you. His name's Mason. He's um...he's our son." She says looking down at her feet.

"Our son?" Hank questions, closing the door behind him. "I had no idea you had gotten pregnant. You never reached out to me."

"I'm sorry Henry. Things got really complicated and I got scared. I hid it from my own family. But my father figured it out and he's been helping me. He pushed me to come and make things right. You have a right to know him. I found out I was pregnant when I got back from that summer I spent here with you when I was staying with my girlfriends in town. You were my first and my only. I never slept with anyone else. I had actually considered coming back here to be with you but so much time had passed and then I had Mason to take care of."

"He's really my son." Hank looks down at the infant curled up in her lap.

"Yes. I'm willing to do paternity testing if you need to know for sure. But I have no reason to lie. I fell in love with you that summer and it was the best time I've ever had." Desiree says.

"Are you back in town fo a while?" Hank asks. "I've got a case I'm working but here's what I can do. I want you to get settled in over at my place. You remember where it's at?"

"Yes I remember." Desiree says.

"Take this key and let yourself in. Have the movers put all your stuff in the garage and I'll help you get settled in when I'm off work. Okay. We'll talk more then." Hank says.

Desiree looked overwhelmed and scared out of her mind. Hank approaches her and hugs her. She missed that warm hug from him.

"Don't worry. Everything is going to be alright. We'll figure this out. You're not alone. Well make this right. I want to get to know this little guy more." Hank kisses her cheek. "I'm glad you came back. I've missed you."

Desiree smiles a little and takes the key from him. "I guess we'll see you when you get home." She nods and let's him get back to work.

just saw "a little night music" and it was my first time seeing it or hearing any music besides "send in the clowns," "liaisons," and "the miller's son" (and even those, my first time hearing them in context) and....wow. it was one of the musicals that my mom's always said changed her life and i 100% see why. everyone was perfectly cast and Desiree might be one of my favorite theatre characters ever

Jill Desiree Releases New Single “Broken” as Lead Track from Forthcoming Solo Album Jazz, soul, and R&B songstress Jill Desiree announces the release of her new single “Broken,” marking her first original release from her upcoming solo album, a project she describes as a heartfelt collection of songs she’s crafted over many years. Born in Australia and raised in Indonesia, Jill’s music combines global influences with deep American jazz and soul roots, making her sound as diverse as her background. “‘Broken’ is especially close to my heart,” says Jill. “I started writing it at a young age, drawing from the pain and frustrations I felt in my relationships at the time. After leaving it unfinished for years, I finally reached out to producer David Olivas, and together, we brought it to life.” Inspired by the sophisticated grooves of Erykah Badu’s Baduizm and Rachelle Ferrell’s Individuality, Jill’s lyrics and melody evolved with the support of her collaborators, grounding the song in an engaging, jazz-inspired rhythm. Influenced by Marcus Miller’s signature style, the song’s chord progression is a playful nod to Wayne Shorter’s “Footprints,” reimagined with a funky twist. “The band nailed the vibe in just two takes, capturing the energy and groove we wanted,” Jill recalls. Adding a unique brilliance to the track is the contribution of renowned musician and producer Katisse Buckingham, who performed the saxophone parts and led the production of the session. “Katisse brought such incredible vision and artistry to this tune. Jill Desiree Releases New Single “Broken” as Lead Track from Forthcoming Solo Album Jazz, soul, and R&B songstress Jill Desiree announces the release of her new single “Broken,” marking her first original release from her upcoming solo album, a project she describes as a heartfelt collection of songs she’s crafted over many years. Born in Australia and raised in Indonesia, Jill’s music combines global influences with deep American jazz and soul roots, making her sound as diverse as her background. “‘Broken’ is especially close to my heart,” says Jill. “I started writing it at a young age, drawing from the pain and frustrations I felt in my relationships at the time. After leaving it unfinished for years, I finally reached out to producer David Olivas, and together, we brought it to life.” Inspired by the sophisticated grooves of Erykah Badu’s Baduizm and Rachelle Ferrell’s Individuality, Jill’s lyrics and melody evolved with the support of her collaborators, grounding the song in an engaging, jazz-inspired rhythm. Influenced by Marcus Miller’s signature style, the song’s chord progression is a playful nod to Wayne Shorter’s “Footprints,” reimagined with a funky twist. “The band nailed the vibe in just two takes, capturing the energy and groove we wanted,” Jill recalls.
