clip of curtain call from summer stock opening night / first preview =)
there's ya boy will in the light grey jacket in the group to our right, immediately next to arianna as gloria in the mottled dress, promisingly for the theory that they keep the glorville (gloriaville?) endgame there lol
and an opening night curtain call photo as well, posted by ensemble castmember erika amato:
"Woohoo! SUMMER STOCK had an incredibly successful first public performance, followed by a lovely reception next door at Gelston's House. We did take group pics, but of course none of them were on my phone. đđ€·ââïž (Credit for the curtain call pic goes to Will's lovely wife, Steph. Pic of the opening drop was copied from Goodspeed's IG.)"
like erika omg get ahold of the group pics!! lolmao
#shoutout to steph's photography & documentation always....coming through w/the ruby manger lore just the other post....#summer stock#will roland#orville wingate#wasn't expecting the lines from (howdy neighbor) happy harvest to be the lil reprise but who doesn't love a surprise#(remember neighbor when you work for mother nature) setup: you get paid by father time (payoff)#applied to the farming part of things lol so wonder how it works in the theatrical realm? mother nature....#well anyways lmao they have said they shake up even who gets which numbers that are kept on from the film; prob go in different places too#i'm curious. i wanna see the stuff. i'm not even speaking it into existence i'm just expressing how i feel lmao#but like everyone feel free to post....turning to some specific virtual locations & ppl naturally for Most Likely Some Material Here#erika's going relatively strong in that realm....keep it up thank you lol#orvia. orvillia. orvilloria. you get it lol lot of fun combinations w/this name. except w/like ''jane'' which is why they gotta break up...#orvphil. joerville. orvgomery; i have to imagine montgomery gets more relevance in this version somehow....

not having any friends is truly heartbreaking
#i have no one to confide in or just simply hang out with#there's this concert i really wanted to attend but i have no one to go with and tickets are already sold out anyways#but the point is not having friends stops me from having fun experiences#sure you could argue that i could have fun experiences by myself but it's still not the same if you can't share it with someone#i went on a solo trip this summer and while it was liberating & enjoyable it was also incredibly lonely#i also went to a festival by myself & unfortunately it was horrible bc i got nauseous & it was scary being all alone#thankfully i got back to my hotel safely in the middle of the night but i definitely would've felt better & safer if i wasn't alone#i feel like i'm missing out on a lot of things bc i don't have friends & it's just so alienating bc i think smth is fundamentally wrong..#.. with me bc i don't have a single genuine friend while others have whole friend groups#this also makes me miss my ex best friend even more & i'm contemplating reaching out to her again...#i feel like a beaten dog that always comes back around no matter how badly i was treated bc i just want some love đ đ#like i was the one who ended things with my ex best friend bc i was tired of being treated like a doormat & constantly having my..#.. boundaries disrespected but now i'd rather have that back then have no friends at all which is awful i know đ#my ex best friend also isn't a bad person but she hurt me a lot & at the end when things got really bad i think we were both not good for..#each other.. but now i'm reminiscing about all the wonderful things we experienced together & i miss it so much :(#we had so many things in common we went to so many concerts together & had so much fun & now i'm all by myself all the time đ#the thing is also she was always a social butterfly & has many friends so i doubt she even misses me#i still didn't delete her from my contacts & i recently saw she finally fulfilled her dream of going to america#i feel like she is living her best life & i'm just here being miserable & lonely nothing has really improved for me#i wouldn't even be surprised if she's going to that concert i wanted to attend bc it's one of her favorite artists as well#i just feel so unlovable and alone in this world... i wish i could restart my whole life or disappear altogether tbh#sorry for the negativity if anyone reads this i'm just really upset..#i should stop making myself even more depressed i'm supposed to be studying anyways..#and tonight i'm attending our company's christmas party i hope i'll at least have a little fun there..#âïž

Hey so, do you ever feel.. Iffy? Bad? Disappointed? That the Fandom at large only became interested in whistlepaw thanks to faer ship with Frostpaw? I admittedly was feeling a bit like that when the ship first started popping up, although I understand that Whis is quite a background character aside from that (and up until then, more or less). So like I get why fae would gain more traction only now but Idk. I can't help but feel a little sad about it since you've made me develop an attachment to this cat. Just curious about your thoughts on the matter!
I get chronically attached to background nobodies, so I'm used to people not really caring about my faves and I honestly like it more that way because popular characters are A Mess of discourse and drama,
but yeah it is a bit sad that Whis is only really seen as a love interest for Frostpaw in the major fandom, but in a way that's also what fae is in the books. Whistlepaw does nothing outside of supporting Frostpaw (and that annoys me So Much for daily whis purposes, I want more material!!!) and I can't blame the fans for not latching onto background WindClan cat #78 and making up a whole world around them
in the end the fandom portrayal is kinda bland, but inoffensive at least. I made Whistlepaw my little silly and have never really cared about the fandom at large; Fae's basically my oc at this point and if a few people enjoy what I do then I'm content
#morningtalks#I understand where you are coming from#I've just always had a more unbothered approach with how many people I attract to my art#I do want to make the whisses a bit more developped#alas canon doesn't give me a lot#except for Wind (which I will probably read in the summer but technically I'm really not there with the books#(I'm halfway through AvOs on a reading standpoint because I read them in dutch translation)#but I might make an exception for The Whis Content)#so it'll be up to me to add more drama to the whisses#I've been thinking of creating a sort of story that I'd have going on for a few consecutive days#but I do kinda struggle to come up with a believable conflict for this plot that isn't just#''stripekit gets stolen by a bird of prey; go save them! (they survive I promise)''#(which I have thought about last year but I'm not too keen on this idea for a plot)#but an interesting story wants conflict so I'm kinda still just tooling around in the void#but I'll see what nonsense I can get up to as soon as the summer arrives#because a more plot-based whis event could be fun to plan and post day by day#I'll also try to nail down a Real character for Whis#because right now Whis is really one of those amorphous blobs o :) in my head and I want to fix that#with real character traits positive and negative ones#and make whis more interesting because whis is my oc at this point and I will make the art for whis I crave

It doesn't take long to settle into the rhythm of your new summer job. Or: the babysitter x single dad au
Part 1 | masterlist
-
âIâm not looking for a babysitter that can only come by every now and then,â he says sternly and pauses for emphasis, brows furrowing to convey the seriousness of the situation. âIâve got a busy schedule and his mom isnât in the picture. I need a real commitment.â
You sit across from him wringing your hands under the kitchen table, wondering again what it is youâre doing here. Babysitting has never been your schtick; youâre somewhere in between too old to do it as a casual gig for extra cash and too young and inexperienced to be considered for a full-time position.Â
Yet, it seems like thatâs what heâs looking for, based on the information heâs told you and your general impression from having been in his house for less than twenty minutes. The house is a messâtoys strewn across the babyâs bedroom and the living room, dishes crusted with day old food sitting in the sink, the bookshelf in his study covered in a fine layer of dust that tells you that this man spends so little time in his own house that itâs become something of a requiem to single fatherhood.Â
âSo, a nanny?â you ask.
He hems and haws over that for a bit. âBit too fancy for my tastes, but thatâs more like it. It wonât just be watching the babyâI need someone who can help out around the house as well. âUsed to run a tight ship before him, but cleaningâs not been my highest priority these days. Sure youâve picked up on that.â He says the last part wryly, lips curling up into a crooked grin under his mustache.Â
âWellâŠâ You trail off while glancing at the mess in the living room out of the corner of your eye, toys and blocks scattered over the playmat. Your own smile is sheepish.Â
âI work odd hours, so Iâll be gone a lot; youâll probably have a few late nights here, but I pay well. Think thatâs something you can handle?â
A polite refusal sits on the tip of your tongue until you swallow it back, suddenly conscious again of the dwindling funds in your bank account. Itâs not that you donât think you could handle the job. Youâve babysat before (only preteens, you correct yourself internally, but surely there are some transferable skills there). And, eclipsing all of your arguments in favour of walking out the door right now, is the very salient and pressing need for an actual income.Â
âYouâre military, you said?â you croak out instead.
He nods, hums. âBit of a glorified desk job these days. They donât put the old timers out in the field. Still, keeps me busy.â
You frown at that. âYouâre not that old.â
That gets him to cock an eyebrow. âLove, Iâm over twice your age, easy. Iâm plenty old for a first time father on top of that; shouldâve already been an old hand at this, but Iâve been married to the job for too long.â
You donât ask if the baby was an accident or how it came to be that he chose to raise the baby on his own rather than try to work something out with the mother or give him up altogether. It seems uncouth. Rude. Itâs none of your business and, more to the point, hardly relevant to the job. Itâs just your own insatiable need to pry and know every little detail raising its head to sniff the air.Â
âWell, I thinkââ You chew on your words and then backtrack. ââI can handle the job. I live nearby, so I can be here whenever you need me. If you need references, I canââ
âNo need,â he cuts you off, waving a hand in front of him. âIâm a good judge of character. If you wanna help put the baby to bed, we can talk salary and Iâll go over my schedule this week with you.â
The chair scrapes against the tile floor when he stands up, pushing it out from under him. Standing, he towers over you, a big, fit man despite his protests to the contrary. Hardly out of his prime. Youâd put him at forty-five at the latest, and still a work horse of a man at that; broad like a draft horse, like he flips tires and runs marathons for fun. When you push out your chair and stand as well, youâre still forced to look up at him.Â
âSure can, MisterâŠâ?â You realize with a slight start that you only remember his first name, though it hardly feels appropriate to call him by that given the fact that heâs about to become your boss. Already is your boss.Â
âPrice. But John works just fine,â he corrects, his smile warm, almost paternalistic.Â
You ignore the flash of heat up your spine and the way your belly constricts when he reaches across the table to shake your hand. His big, calloused palm dwarfs yours, fingers easily overlapping. You might as well be shaking a mitt.Â
âWell, thanks for the job, John,â you say with a smile of your own, ignoring the way yours strains at the end, anxiety already gnawing a hole through the lining of your stomach that your stomach acid will now most certainly leak through. âI wonât let you down.â
âI know you wonât, sweetheart.â
His words seem like a bellwether for something that you canât yet articulate or even anticipate. Regardless, they make you swallow reflexively when you start salivating out of nowhere. You should probably quit on the spot actually, just out of principle alone, but again you remember the gut-churning sensation of checking your bank balance in the middle of the grocery store the other day before putting half of the contents of your cart back onto the shelf beside you.Â
You follow him into the playroom instead, where a fuzzy headed infant gasps up at his daddy, blinking big lovestruck eyes up at him. Your own heart feels like a melted caramel in your chest when John picks his son up, eyes crinkling with affection. The baby is so tiny in his arms.
Any thought of being a good person evaporates from your mind. As if you ever had a chance.Â
You donât know how he found you. Through a friend of a friend of a friendâs dadâs coworker, maybe. Word of mouth. Watercooler conversation and a heaping cup of gossip.
âDid you hear the Captainâs looking for a babysitter?â
âFor what? To bang?â
âNo, dipshit. He knocked some broad up and she left him with the baby.â
âNo kidding. The Captain?â
âDidnât I just fuckinâ say that?â
âPrice, you mean? Captain Price?â
âAre you fuckinâ deaf? YeahâPrice.â
âChrist. Godspeed to him. A baby. Goddamn.â
âGive it a rest, it happens all the time. Thatâs why you always wrap it up. Anyway, you know of anyone thatâd be up for it?â
And then somehow, your name gets mentioned. Much to your relief. Job opportunities donât knock on your door all that often, and when John finally gets around to telling you your hourly rate, you almost burst into hysterical giggles in front of him. Itâs more than you expected. More than you deserve, if youâre being honest. Youâre retroactively grateful that he didnât ask you to name your rate because you wouldnât have dared propose something anywhere close to what he offers.
Itâs a straightforward gig. John doesnât work the typical nine-to-five, so you show up at the times he made you write down on that first day in his living room after your interview and you leave whenever he comes home. The first week is fairly true to the schedule he laid out for you. Heâs only late by around half an hour one evening, but that was another condition that he made you well aware of prior to giving you the job.Â
You know better than to put up a fuss. Youâre already learning on the job as it is; with your anxiety at a ten at all times, you appreciate the extra half hour to keep googling baby-specific information. What to do during tummy time. The benefits of baby massage. How to change a diaper. Youâre learning all sorts of things these days.
To your credit, he couldâve done worse. The day after John hires you, you sign up for an intensive babysitting course over the weekend and read the online manual front to back. Your CPR certificate is still valid, but you book a refresher course as well just to be on the safe side. Itâs a bit unbearable to watch the funds drain out of your account before youâve even had a chance to earn your first paycheck, but itâs worth it for the burgeoning confidence that you bring on your first day.
Babies are fun to be around, you realize, much to your own delight. Babysittingâor rather, nannying, but John still introduces you to the neighbours as his babysitter, plus nannying requires a host of additional accreditations that you simply just do not haveâmight not have been a job that you ever expected yourself to like, but you find yourself kind of morose at the end of each day when you have to say goodbye to baby, and even going so far as to turn in early when you get home so youâll be ready bright and early the next morning.
Babies also smell better than anything youâve ever smelt in your life. You could huff the top of this little guyâs head morning, noon, and night. Milky and clean; it barely takes a few days to become addicted to the smell of his little head. When heâs cradled in your arms, you canât help but press your nose to the top of his head and take a deep inhale, eyes fluttering shut. Itâs some good shit.Â
You keep a journal filled with notes to relay to John when he comes home at the end of the night and keep your phone close to you during babytime to film any important moments that John mightâve otherwise missed.Â
âHe started babbling today,â you tell John the second he walks through the door, the video already pulled up on your phone. You havenât felt this excited in ages. âLook.âÂ
Heâs still in his fatigues and everything, but he humours you and takes the baby when you pass him over, cooing and tickling his belly until the baby squeals and babbles again for him.Â
âSee?â you gush, mooning over him. You donât have the presence of mind to be self-conscious in the moment.Â
âYeah,â John remarks, lifting his son up to blow a raspberry into his belly and grinning at his ensuing peals of laughter. âAinât that something.â
If the smile in his voice has anything to do with you, you donât pick up on it.
On top of everything, John turns out to be a really good boss. Despite his gruff, intimidating exterior, heâs remarkably kind and patient with you. He doesnât nag you for missing a spot when cleaning the bathroom. He doesnât scold you the day your car breaks down and youâre forced to take the nearest bus to his place, tacking on an extra twenty minutes to your commute, even though that means that heâs invariably late for work. When you accidentally use scouring powder on the inside of his Le Creuset Dutch oven and scratch off the enamel, he gently talks you out of a sobbing fit, seemingly unbothered by the state of his scratched up crockery.
He shrugs when you bring it up. âItâs got a lifetime warranty anyway. Iâll bring it into the shop over the weekend. No use getting upset about it.â
Unflappable. Thatâs the word for it. Itâs like as long as heâs able to come home to the baby and you in one piece, nothing else matters, and that sense of calm permeates the whole house; for the first time in a long time, you donât feel like you have to walk on eggshells around someone.Â
Your only qualmâand itâs hardly even a qualm, to be honest, more of just an observationâis that John is more of a physical person than you are.Â
When he wants to move you, he doesâtwo big hands clamped around your waist and only a fraction of his strength to move you away from the stove so he can take over cooking while you check on the baby, your mouth hanging open, aghast. Fuming at his nerve. The gall of him to manhandle you.Â
You donât hold it against him though. You havenât spent much time around groups of men, but youâve seen military movies before and it seems like the status quo for men to grab and push each other around. If anything, heâs gentle with you.Â
Itâs just thatâand again, Johnâs the first adult man youâve spent any one-on-one time with, what with it just being the two of you and the baby in his house, so your frame of reference is microscopicâyouâre not completely sure whether itâs appropriate for your boss to be so touchy.Â
You donât mean to insinuate that heâs being inappropriate. Itâs just thatâand again you have to catch yourself before you go making assertions about people because John is honestly such a nice man and heâs done nothing but treat you fairly and made you feel safe and welcome, butâŠâsometimes he insists on you staying over for dinner after he comes home from work and doesnât take no for an answer.
Youâre never in any rush to leave. Thereâs not exactly anything waiting for you in your dingy little apartment. So when he asks you to stay, you have no good reason to refuse. Itâs nice to get a free meal as well. With the way John gives you unfettered access to the fridge and pantry, you hardly need to buy groceries at all these days. You feel a little guilty about that, but you know what itâs like to go hungry.
Maybe thatâs why you stay for supper the first time he asks a couple weeks into you working for him. Youâre subconsciously mortified that youâll eat his food when heâs not gone but not when he offers it to you.
At least dinner feels like something youâve been given rather than just taking, taking, taking.Â
Not to mention youâve developed something of a rapport. Thereâs always something to talk about with John: the baby, his work, a show you watched on TV after putting the baby down for a nap, the new big Tesco four blocks from your place, his late teens before joining the military (âback when you werenât even a thought in your mumâs head,â he jokes, cutting into his steak and something in your brain pops and fritzes out like the static between radio stations).Â
The first few suppers are sporadic and never long enough to make you feel like youâve overstayed your welcome. In all honesty, theyâre the few bright spots in an otherwise dull life. Outside of your job and the infrequent dinners, youâre estranged from your family and youâve only got a few close friends in town that you see maybe once or twice a month. Nothing to write home about. Some Friday nights, the yoga studio near your flat has a five pound community class that you pop in for, but those are infrequent too.Â
Then thereâs the odd night where he shoos you into the living room to put on a movie while he cleans up after dinner. You stare absentmindedly at his forearms when he rolls up his sleeves and then jump when you find him staring at you expectantly over his shoulder.
âGo put something on,â John tells you, a warning look in his eye. âDonât make me repeat myself.â
âSorry,â you whisper before slipping off into the living room.
You canât relax on the couch while you wait. You flinch when he finally joins you, sitting down on the other side of the couch suddenly. You hadnât even heard him coming; heâs light on his feet for such a big man.Â
The buddy cop comedy you picked barely distracts you from the fact that your boss is sitting on the other side of the couch. You spend the whole two hour run time so nervous that youâre afraid youâll buzz right out of your skin.Â
For absolutely no reason, of course, because all John does is make light conversation with you throughout the movie. Conversation that you respond to in curt, choked whispers. When he walks you to the door after the movie, all you can focus on is how utterly embarrassed you are for being so weird.
Your dreams that night come frantic and heady. Humid under the blanket. The phantom feeling of a body heavier than yours weighing down one side of the couch and you sliding towards it gradually, unable to even cling onto the arm of the couch to keep from falling into his lap.Â
Then hands on your belly, cupping and holding. Thick fingers with hairy knuckles. A warm, tobacco smell wafting under your nose, sweet like tonka bean and smoke. Nothing you can do to keep them from travelling down your stomach and thighs and spreading your legs wide, big hands curving around your inner thighs untilâ
You wake up panting, fingers pressed against your clit in your sleep. It takes nothing to bring yourself over the edge, dark blue eyes swimming on the precipice of your conscious mind.Â
âSleep well?â John asks you the next morning when you show up on his doorstep, handing you the baby before youâve even said so much as a word. You hold the baby to your chest like a makeshift shield. Anything to put some distance between you and the man who has now taken to starring in your dreams.Â
âNot bad,â you squeak.Â
You flinch when he guides you in with a hand on your back and shuts the door behind you. Your cunt pulses when his fingers press firm against the small of your back, hand bigger than you remembered from your dream.
As if you were ever going to end up anywhere but here.

a/n: reader is gn! i started drafting those during one of the first sticky hot summer nights of the year, then forgot about it until this came over me once again like a fever, and now here we are. i love writing drabbles because they force you to really think about the chars, how you perceive them and how to nail their unique personalities in 200 words or less. anyway, this is my first time writing for HQ after the brainworms got me down bad and i had lots of fun! hope you'll enjoy them too âĄ
word count: 1.3k
đđđđđđ whines when you have the audacity to kick him back towards his end of the couch, catching your ankle and pulling you towards him in return, stubbornly ignoring your protests. Too hot to cuddle, my ass, he pouts, genuinely offended that youâd even consider that; when the only time Atsumu ever feels a sense of calm is when part of you touches him. Your hand playing with the shaved hair in the back of his neck, your leg hooked over his hipbone as you sprawl out in bed together, hell, even your icy cold feet shoved underneath his butt during winter. Something was missing when he couldnât have your proximity. Yer so needy, Tsumu. So what if he was? He pulls you into his lap, face nuzzled into the crook of your neck, hands tightening around your waist. His breath fanning over your skin, hot and cool against it. Atsumu takes, he demands, but with you he is pleading, silent for once. Just a little longerâdreaming, breathing you in, kissing till he feels you smiling against his lips.
đđđđđ wears his hair shorter now, back at its natural dark color, too. You helped him buzz it off during one of those sticky summer nights. Both of you in nothing but your underwear, Osamu sitting on the edge of the bathtub in your cramped bathroom. One hand of yours holding a razor and the other clamped over your mouth because you horribly messed up a setting and now he had a funny little edge in his hair, throwing you both in a laughing fit. It was your first summer together and Osamu couldnât help but hope that there would be many more like this to come, with your bodies orbiting each other, unable to keep your hands off despite the heat and the sweat, the air heavy and electric and yet so light whenever he hears you laugh. Nothing beats the feeling of lifting you up on the kitchen counter and your eyes lingering on his hands, shaping a midnight snack for the both of you, getting drunk on stolen glances and kisses. Thereâs many metaphors for food and love and right now, Osamu can taste them all on the tip of your tongue.
đđđđđ hasnât even kicked his shoes off at the entrance yet and is already loosening his tie, before slender fingers work down button for button on his shirt. He hears you laugh about his demeanor from the other end of the hallway. How lucky, he thinks to himself. To have someone waiting for him at home, making even long work days during the most miserable summer heat bearable. His shirt has barely hit the floor and heâs already on you, caging you in with his arms and covering every inch of your skin he can reach in kisses, despite your giggling and feigned huffing over how sticky he is, sending him to shower first (as if you wouldnât come right after him). Kuroo purrs when your hands tangle in his hair. In the end you always pull him back towards your lips again, swallowing every little quip and taunt like candy, sweet and syrupy in your mouth. It reminds him how he fell in love with you many summers ago, his heart ablaze ever since.
đđđđđ is glued to the fan at this point. He even switched gaming from his desktop set-up to a handheld console, reluctantly admitting that his old house would heat up even more with his computer running at full blast. His expression really says it all when you approach him, silently pleading for cuddles. Kenma just canât understand how anyone would seek someone elseâs body heat when the sun outside was already doing a pretty good job in trying to end him. Still, he isnât immune to your charms, never was (one time he mumbled something about your stats being way too high and how everything changed once he received a love buff of yours). When you hold out a popsicle as a means of bribery and blink at him with those damn soft eyes of yours, Kenma pauses his game and holds out his arms. He hums into the kiss you give him before sitting down in his lap, your lips tasting like ice cream and summer love. He rests his chin on your shoulder, face nuzzled against your neck, before he continues his game, letting you feed him the sweet cold treat. Summer might have become a little more bearable with you in his lifeâthough he was already looking forward to many winters under the kotatsu with you.Â
đđđđđđ is squishing your cheeks together, his thumb brushing over the corner of your mouth. Collecting evidence, but also wanting to feel your tongue poke out slightly against it, cheeky as ever. Just how could you eat the last ice cream in the freezer without him? He lets out an exaggerated huff, feigned indignation, both of you knowing he can never keep this up for too longânot when it comes to you. Oikawa leans down to kiss you, your face still in a tight grip, tasting the remains of the ice cream on your lips, as if you werenât sweet enough already. Maybe he can be bribed for another kiss when you offer a midnight walk to the 7/11 down the street, promising to pay for a cool sweet treat to make it up to him. He had already forgotten what he was mad about the moment you leaned into the kiss, but heâll never say no to a chance to hold your hand, even if itâs sticky with leftover ice cream and the summer heat. To Oikawa, love is stored in the mundane things, even if his love for you is anything but that.
đđđđđđđđ is standing in the kitchen past midnight, wearing nothing but a pair of boxers while he roams the freezer for anything to help him cool down; even a pack of frozen peas would do. He feels a pang of guilt for having peeled away from you, your form pressed so tightly against him in his sleep, it almost gave him a heat strokeâfor more reason than one. Everything is sticky and airless and Iwaizumi is sure that if he would have glanced at you even a minute longer, his heart might have just given out on him. All this love he holds for you, burning him up from the inside, like a fever. He lets out a long exhale when he presses an ice bag against the back of his neck, but itâs not that what causes a shiver down his spine; itâs two arms sneaking around his waist from behind, your sleepy voice mumbling out his name, your body melting into his again. The first kiss pressed on the side of your neck is an apology, the second one a promise. The thirdâto devour you.
đđđđđđ grumbles something about you being too sticky and sweaty, making a weak attempt to shove you back to your side of the bed, only to pull you back by your hips when you actually do leave some room between you. He canât help it, you fit so perfectly in the curve of his body, your back pressed against his chest, one of his knees nudged between your legs, all tangled up. Itâs the perfect position to plant kisses on the back of your neck, too. Kiyoomi loathes those hot summer nights in the concrete city. Heâd rather be somewhere else with you, somewhere to breathe more easily through this heat. Maybe you should move to the countryside, yes. A small house with lots of green surrounding it. Less people and noise, just you and him. Yeah, he would like that. He kisses the back of your neck once more and takes a slow, deep inhale of your sweet scent, before sleep finally crawls upon him again. For now heâll endure this heat, anything, as long as he can hold you in his arms like thisâand have a cold shower with you in the morning, maybe.

Last time I went to the village to buy bread I saw a woman in the street who was dressed like a 19th-century peasant, complete with a thick old-timey accent with dialect words no one uses anymoreâshe was telling a little group of people to follow her so of course I had to drop everything and follow her too.
And it turned out she was a theatre actress who has read a lot of local archives in libraries and town halls, and offered her services to organise guided tours of various villages to tell people about local history in a fun way, by playing characters who lived here in the Middle Ages, the 19th century, or WWII. It's such a cool idea! I talked to her for a bit after the visit and she said she wasn't sure it'd work / attract enough people, but she had groups of tourists + local families show up for the visit every week, in every village where she did this, so she think she'll be hired again next summer.
When I joined their group she was talking about WWII, and how my & other nearby villages were known by the Nazis and Vichy as a hotbed of terrorists, with some Gestapo officers killed in bomb attacks. (In retaliation the Nazis eventually rounded up 100+ locals and deported them to camps, as well as shooting a few.) I was mostly familiar with WWII anecdotes from the North-East, where my grandparents lived during the war, and I found it funny how different they soundedâmy grandfather made Resistance activities sound well-planned and careful (espionage, sabotage, underground presses, infiltrating railway services etc) while oral histories around here make them sound a lot more spontaneous andâhandcrafted? like "Emile brought what we needed for the bomb in his wheelbarrow hidden under a layer of straw and we exploded 2 Nazis."
We then went to visit the former girls' school, and I learnt a lot about my country's history of education for girls! Also it was really sweet because there was an old lady in our group who had attended this school as a child and had lots of school memories to share. Most of them were very wholesome, until eventually our tour guide went "Surely you also have some School Mischief to tell us about" and the old woman at first was like no no no no, I was a good girl. And then she conceded that when she had to sort lentils for the nuns' dinner and she resented one of them for berating her in class, she'd do a shit job on purpose and leave some little stones in the lentils.
Then our last step was the fairground where the town fair was (and is still) held, and our tour guide told us little 19th-century anecdotes (in-character, more like acting them out) that she'd found in old postcards and letters in the archivesâhow the town fair was where you'd go for your dentist appointment (i.e. to have your bad teeth pulled with pliers with no pain medicine) and to get any object repaired, like damaged pans or clogs; how there were dancing bears and performing monkeys; how one year the merchant who sold linen for women's trousseaus had her linen display trampled "by 300 cows" (might have been an exaggeration) and she hit the cow herder and it started a massive brawl.
My favourite anecdote was how back in the 1800s the local innkeeper was frustrated by the fact that the nearest village is just 10km away, and people who came to the fair often decided to go spend the night there so their journey back the next day would be less long, and so he started to tell them about the beast that lives under the bridge between the two villages. Travellers say horses go mad when they see it and just jump into the water. Some say the beast has dug up corpses from the cemetery because it likes human flesh, though of course it prefers it fresh. I'm now convinced half of local legends were single-handedly created by business savvy innkeepers determined to get more customers than the rival inn 10km away.
I'm sad I only learnt about these visits at the end of summer when they're coming to an end, but I'll definitely follow this woman around again if she returns with more stories next year!

sometimes buds askâ what is it like to be a neurodivergent artist?â and this is great summary: the charts can look like this, and at same time people will be endlessly posting on how you are ânot realâ or âa bitâ. you can hold bestsellers in slot 1 to 4 and still not be 'serious'
i am ultimately ok with this. i love my trot and would not have it any other way, but i think it is worth investigation. when irony poisoning has seeped into everything, how many times does a neurodivergent person have to say âactually this is NOT so bad its good. its just goodâ
when you are autistic, or queer, or both, how much proof do you need to be considered good art? or good business? what do the charts have to look like for me to be a ârealâ author? or allowed my face mask at a library association conference? or one person not a group of writers?
im coming up on a decade of writing tinglers soon, and people are still talkin about my âseriousâ works vs my âjoke booksâ and at every turn, as kindly as i can, i shout from the rooftops: THEY ARE ALL SERIOUS BOOKS. THIS IS NOT A BIT.
but its hard when buds have had âthe correct way to be a writer. the correct way to be an artist. the COOL way to react to a book that is TOO weirdâ pounded into their heads by internet culture. 'kill it with fire' they say. 'i need eye bleach' they say without thinking. a line.
heres the thing, the tide IS turning. theres buckaroos jumping in and saying, âI want to be a part of thisâ and for that they are being rewarded. the publisher who took me seriously is lookin pretty dang good right now with these charts and these sales. i am honored and moved
over time there will be more buds who shed that irony mask. the tide of sincerity is powerful, and the tide of love is inevitable. it is difficult to stand strong in our uniqueness but it also pays off, and I hope to be a shining example. eventually THE TIMELINE BENDS TO YOU
so this is not a thread to complain. i have been trotting long enough that these things do not really bother me. being made fun of and disparaged as ânot legit artâ while also being objectively successful at the things im made fun of about is kind of the ocean that i swim in.
no. my point of this is to say THANK YOU to those of you who have been trotting by my side over these years. THANK YOU for proving love to me. im so honored by your support, and you should know that YOU have seen beyond the irony poisoned veil that stops many others. YOU get it.
and to those with their own unique perspective on creation: look what you can do. yes there will likely be a lot of resistance to something different, but there is also a LOT of reward. YOU can trot a new path. YOU can prove love is real, not in MY way, but IN YOUR OWN WAY
anyway thank you for reading buckaroos. thank you for your support. LUCKY DAY comes out next summer and it is probably as FAR OUT and existential as the tingleverse has ever gone. you can preorder it here

Pairing Eddie Munson x Fem Reader [friends -> lovers]
Summary: You and Eddie ditch the party of the semester to fall into something you both know is meant to be [fluff, 3k]
A/N This is just fun, fluff, and feels. Felt like a vibe while I was writing it. This fic is part 1 of 3.
The music vibrates through the floor so intensely that Eddie can feel it in his bones. Even in the sunroom where he and a few others have settled. The small space gives sight to the backyard, where people mingle as they smoke, illuminated by string lights combating the nightâs darkness. Those inside the house with him chatter, sing, and toss their heads back in carefree laughter, feet shuffling against the hardwood as they dance.
The entire scene buzzes with the kind of life only Steve Harringtonâs place could ignite on a Friday night. One of these days, he swore he was going to loosen up and allow himself to get swept up in it too.Â
For now, he watches. Eyes flitting to various faces, but always returning to you. If you werenât smiling, you were talking, and the way your lips formed around your words was just as beautiful. The two of you spoke briefly when he first arrived, and he could still feel the delighted hug youâd given him over the fact that he decided to come. He wondered what heâd have to do to make it go away, but good thing he didnât mind the feeling. It was a reminder of how much he wished your nearness could be all his forever.
Longing was a peculiar thing. Selfish in its occupation of his entire being.Â
As Eddie takes another small sip from his drink, something fruity spiked with vodka, The Hair himself saunters up in front of him in a pair of slacks and a Polo sweater. Though rather polished for the occasion, it manages to look fitting on him. His cheeks are a little flushed and the metalhead raises a curious brow as his friend stares down at him with a smirk.Â
Rebel Yell starts pulsing through the stereo as Steve offers him a hand off the couch. They end up weaving their way out back. The fall air is cool, but not all of summerâs warmth has vanished. A few people wave and greet them as they head towards a pair of chaise lounge chairs. Billy Idolâs voice is muffled as it continues thrumming from inside. Grooving bodies are visible through the windows as the party carries on.Â
Steve pulls out a fancy metal cigarette case before they sit, flipping it open with a soft click. Eddie canât help but snort as he relaxes into the chair.Â
Steveâs brows furrow as he slips out a joint and begins lighting it. âWhat?âÂ
Eddie nods to the case in Steveâs lap. âRich people shit.âÂ
Steve takes the first couple puffs before passing the joint to Eddie. âJealous?âÂ
A smile cracks Eddie's face before he takes a drag. The answer is no, he isnât. Once upon a time, jealousy was all he burned with, even though he was Hawkinâs poster child for no fucks given and had every reason to be grateful he wasnât worse off. Grateful for Wayne, that he wasnât in the pen with his deadbeat father, for finally finding solid friends. He had more than he could ask for, and it took growing up to see it.Â
Eddie tips his head back and blows smoke up into the night before giving Steve his turn. What he canât see is that your eyes have fallen on him from inside the house, sparkling and curious as Robin grins by your side.Â
âSo did I save you back there or what?â Steve asks as he ashes the joint onto the ground. âLooked like you were zoning in and out, man.â Thereâs genuine curiosity in his gaze though his tone is playful.Â
Growing up with parents like his, Steve had gotten good at reading people. They vacationed a lot, but still managed to walk around with arc reactors in their chests whenever they were home. Bound to detonate in the wake of the most trivial inconveniences. Sometimes he wished he could shut everyone and their feelings out, but he wouldnât quite be himself then.Â
Eddie runs his ringed fingers through his hair. âJust a bit overwhelmed.âÂ
Steve takes a thoughtful look around. âThese kinda things can be a lot.âÂ
Not even half the faces outside belong to close friends. There was a magic to it, nevertheless. For a few hours, everyone could throw their worries to the wind as Hawkins, Indiana began to feel less like a nowhere town and more like the top of the world. Lord knows Steve didnât mind the distraction.Â
âNot my scene,â Eddie settles on saying. The joint has found its way back into his hand.Â
âEveryoneâs got their escape,â Steve says. âYouâre just too evolved for this one.âÂ
Eddie snorts. âShut up.âÂ
âYet here you are in the flesh,â Steve continues, thinking as Eddie smokes. âYou should tell her how you feel.âÂ
Eddie coughs, lowering the joint from between his lips. âDude. Fuck.âÂ
Steve bites back a smirk as Eddie recovers, extending his hand for the joint. Eddie refuses, taking another drag out of spite, for himself or Steve he isnât sure. A distant swell of giggles makes multiple heads turn towards the back door, where you and Robin file outside. Thereâs an immediate flutter in Eddie's gut as he takes you in, your skirt flowing at your thighs. It takes him a second to realize you two are headed their way.Â
By the time you make it over, Eddie has straightened up. Meanwhile Steve remains unphased. âLadies,â Steve greets. Â
Robin wrinkles her glittery nose at him. âWhy werenât we invited out here?âÂ
Chuckling, he makes room for her on his chair and she plops down beside him. ââCause you hate the way weed makes you feel like youâre going insane.â He leans into her with each word until she pushes him away with a helpless laugh.
âItâs the principle,â she counters.Â
Eddie motions for you to join him and you smile as you take a seat beside him, bumping your shoulder against his in a gentle hello. When he offers you the joint, you shake your head. Steve reaches for it yet again, but Eddie pretends not to notice, taking another drag. A small smile pulls at your lips.Â
âActually, I think I will take a hit.â Eddie doesnât hesitate passing it to you.Â
Rather than indulging, you hand it to Steve, who laughs in victory. Eddie shakes his head, feigning betrayal in a way that earns a laugh out of you. Itâs a sweet, melodic sound. He tries to ignore the way your thigh feels pressed against his, but itâs in vain. Even the vanilla notes of your perfume manage to cloud his mind in the softest way. No matter where he was, if you were near, he would always be painfully aware of your presence.Â
It was your invitation that had driven him to this party in the first place. Although Steveâs invite came first, your insistence made him change his mind and say yes. Sweaty bodies and blaring music wasnât your ideal scene either, but you gave in from time to time and looked good doing so. Earlier that night, Eddie almost hadnât made it through Dancing In the Dark as you and Robin swayed and jumped around like you were alone in your room. There was something about the freeness of the way you moved that made it hard to look away.Â
âMunsonâs been meaning to tell you something,â Steve announces, looking straight at you.
Eddieâs heart drops into his stomach as he glares at Steve. Robin glances between the two of them, brows furrowed as amusement plays on her lips. You hug your arms as a cool breeze rolls through, but youâre more interested in what Eddie has to say than escaping the chill. In meeting your gaze, however, he silently begs you not to entertain the claim. It only piques your curiosity all the more.Â
âAre you gonna spill or what?â Robin prompts.
âThereâs nothing to spill,â Eddie insists, looking down to twist his skull ring.Â
Reaching over into his lap, you gingerly take his hand into yours to slip off that very ring. He doesnât pull away or argue, just watches as a helplessly warm feeling melts down his ribcage. His lips twitch upwards when you put it on your thumb because itâs the only finger big enough. Itâs warm from being against his own skin for so long. Robin and Steve share a brief, knowing look.
âSpeak now or forever hold your peace.â Thereâs hope woven within the lilt of your voice. Eddie chuckles, and you commit the breathy sound to memory as if youâll need it one day more than you do now.Â
Robin slaps her hands against her knees. âWell, itâs getting kinda chilly out here so Iâm gonna head back inside,â she says, rubbing her arms as she stands.Â
âDonât do anything I wouldnât do,â you tease.Â
âIâll stick to something tame like snooping around in Harringtonâs room,â she says as she turns to leave. Steve rolls his eyes.
A comfortable silence settles between the three of you. However, his brows eventually pinch together as he reconsiders Robinâs words. Taking one last drag, he passes the joint back to Eddie.  Â
âShe was joking, Steve,â you assure him, chuckling.Â
âNo she wasnât,â he worries as he stands to jog back into the house. Eddie snickers.Â
With a soft sigh, you lean back onto your hands, looking towards the sky as silence falls again. There are a few clouds visible in the light of the crescent moon, but the stars are everywhere. Like tiny shining freckles peppered against the face of the night. Part of you wonders if heâll talk now.Â
âWhat if the stars have been watching us back our entire lives?â you murmur.Â
Eddieâs brows pinch together as he looks over at you, chest rattling with a startled laugh. âThatâs something to think about.â His eyes are a bit glossier now. âDonât think Iâd mind if that were true.âÂ
You tilt your head, a smile budding on your face. âYou wouldnât mind billions of little eyes observing your day-to-day life?â you ask. âThatâs a pretty big audience.âÂ
A grin eases across his face, half playful, half cocky. âIâm a pretty interesting guy.â
You lift a teasing shoulder, feigning indifference. âYouâre alright.âÂ
Eddie laughs, but a weighted look flickers in his eyes as he studies you, catching the fondness you hadnât tried all that hard to hide. Even with the pleasant buzz beneath his skin and somewhat of a looser mind, he can see it clearly.Â
âHey,â you speak up again. Thereâs a new softness to your voice, something mischievous dancing around the edges. âWanna get outta here?âÂ
Eddie blinks like he canât quite believe youâve asked, but finds himself saying yes anyways.
âąâąâąÂ
Sitting in the passenger seat in his van, you realize you didnât think much further than this. The air smells like him in all the best ways. Pinewood and faint cigarette smoke. As the engine rumbles to life, you shift in your seat and peek over at him, your confidence a distant memory. The radio bursts to life as well, but he quickly reaches out to turn it down. You bite back a smile at the fact that his skull ring is missing from his finger because itâs on yours. Eddie settles in with a sigh, turning to you.Â
âSo,â he says, eyes sparkling and a little red under the glow of the street lights.Â
Thereâs an intensity to the warmth of his gaze. It drives you to hide your face in your hands. Which does nothing to make him disappear, if the way he exhales a chuckle is any indicator. âStop looking at me, I didnât think this far ahead.â Thereâs no real distress in your voice, only giddiness mixed with nerves.Â
âNow I feel like an idiot,â you whine.Â
âWell, youâre not.â He sounds more sincere than the moment calls for. âAnd I donât think Iâm gonna be able to stop looking at you, so I guess weâre both in a pickle.âÂ
âA pickle?â You snort, lowering your hands to meet his gaze. More laughter escapes you. Maybe itâs your body's way of not having to address the implication of his words.Â
Thereâs a flutter in his gut as he watches you. Itâs like old times, back when you were freshmen who stayed up too late laughing over the most ridiculous things. Except now, you were more than the girl who sat beside him in Biology because you thought it was cool he had a tattoo. Youâd grown into a friend, perhaps even more. As composure finds its way back to you, that truth weighs heavy in the small distance between you. Â
Eddie clears his throat. âWe could hang at mine for a bit. Wayneâs at work.â When you donât say anything, he bites the inside of his cheek. âItâs up to you.â Â
âSorry, yeah, that sounds good,â you breathe.Â
Eddie gears the van into drive, only to put it back in park with a heavy exhale. You blink when angles himself to look at you, opening his mouth a few times before speaking.Â
âThere is something I need to tell you,â he admits. âNo way in hell did I ever think weâd be friends, but youâre the raddest person Iâve ever met.â A lump forms in your throat as his words wash over you. âAnd youâre so pretty that sometimes I wonder how every guy in the world isnât giving you whatever you want all the time.âÂ
You can hear your heart in your ears as you say, âMaybe thatâs âcause thereâs only one guy I want in the world.âÂ
âąâąâą
A small sound of surprise rises up your throat when Eddie backs you against his bedroom door. His apology is hushed against your lips as he continues kissing you, hands gentle where they grip at your waist, feeling along your sides. Youâre warm all over as if youâre laid out before the sun, arms hooked around his neck. It hadnât occurred to him how much he wanted to kiss you until you looked at his alarm clock and realized that itâd probably be best if he drove you home. It was well past midnight. Time had escaped you as you talked and laughed.Â
When he does pull away, he studies your face like heâs looking for something. A few seconds pass, and he still doesnât know what for. Perhaps your smile as it shyly appears. You move your hands to cup his face, thumbs stroking his flushed cheeks. Youâve never been close enough to notice he has the faintest freckles over the bridge of his nose. It almost feels like youâre getting a glimpse at sacred markings youâre not supposed to see.Â
Eddie remembers to breathe when you peck his lips again, running your fingers through his hair. His breath is startled out of him, more like. Itâs a wonder his knees havenât buckled beneath him. He wants to kiss you again to see if thatâll finally knock him back down to earth, but instead he exhales the softest sigh over your lips, squeezing your hips to confirm youâre real. Heâs not expecting the sense of guilt that creeps up on him.Â
Your brows pinch together. âWhatâs wrong?âÂ
âNothing. I just⊠I havenât taken you on a date or bought you flowers.â He swallows. âI swear youâre worth all that, swear Iâm gonna.âÂ
You gently scratch his scalp. âThatâs nothing to worry yourself over.âÂ
Eddie shakes his head. âDonât want you to feel like Iâm just trying to come onto you,â he says. âI like you a lotââ Â
âIf itâs any consolation, Iâve been wanting to kiss you forever too.â Your voice sounds braver than you feel.Â
A smile breaks across his face as he rests his forehead against yours. âWell, thatâs maddening news.âÂ
Humming, you kiss him again, delicately running your tongue along his lips so he shivers. âWhere are we gonna go?â you breathe, clarifying when he makes a soft, confused sound, âFor our first date.â With the way you continue kissing him, he assumes you donât really want an answer, that youâre trying to drive him crazy on purpose.Â
His mind changes when you gently push his chest so he knows to pull away. He listens immediately, eyes dazed.Â
âMaybe the arcade,â you supply, toying with the hem of his shirt. âOr a picnic by the lake.â Your hands slip under his shirt, gracing the skin of his lower stomach, your touch sending a rush of heat through him faster than any high ever could.Â
Youâre not trying to be suggestive, itâs more exploratory. A shared thrill in finally being able to touch him how youâve wanted for so long. Eddieâs hands remain at your waist, grounding him even as he feels his resolve starting to slip.Â
As much as he wants to indulge a step further, maybe even several, he holds himself back. It might be old-fashioned, but he wants to do this right, do a bit of course correction. He can almost hear Uncle Wayneâs voice from those lazy afternoons of his younger years, talking about life and how to treat a lady.Â
âNext Friday,â he says, staring into your eyes intently. âItâll be nice. Iâll surprise you,â he promises, taking your hands in his, relishing their softness, their warmth. His skull ring is still on your thumb.Â
âReally?â Your smile is unabashed.Â
He nods, a grin creeping onto his face. âItâs a date.âÂ

an. part two of this | masterlist
You tell him you broke up with your boyfriend while heâs away for work, bunked up in a safe house in the middle of nowhere with shit reception, hearing your words as clear as day as if they werenât the chopped-up version coming through his burner phone.
âIt justâŠdidnât work out.â
It didnât work out.
He pretends his stomach doesnât pleasantly twist because heâd expected it to happen eventually. Heâs not happy about itâalthough it does make the desert heat more bearable in his heavy tactical gearâand tells Soap to fuck off when he comments on it.
It was a one-time fuck because Simon doesnât date. Heâs tried in the past before he met youâthe flowers, the late-night dinnersâbut with him being gone almost every other month (sometimes longer, shorter if heâs lucky), it never works out in the end. Sleeping with you twice would fall under that category, the quasi-relationship kind, and make everything messier than it needs to be.Â
Just some fun, no strings, those are the words he promised.
If only he believed them.
He does, for all of two weeks until heâs home again, and itâs summer, so youâre wearing a flowy dress that shows off the long expanse of your legs.Â
(Heâs a gonerânot even sure why he tried to think otherwise.)
That one time heâd promised turns into a second, both of you stumbling into your apartment after a night out. The music from the pub still thumping loudly underneath your floor as he pushes you against the front door, hands in your hairâon your waist, underneath your skirt, down your thigh to hitch it over his waistâteasing your mouth open with a swipe of his tongue across your bottom lip.
You make this delighted little noise in the back of your throat, arching into him, and his hand spans down your stomach, beneath your underwear, to nudge your messy clit with his knuckle, wanting to hear all the sounds you make now that he has you alone.Â
A whiny cry of his name rewards himâjeans tightening around his waist at the soundâwhen his fingers go down, down until they press against your tight little hole, one finger pressing inside slowly. "If I make you cum, I get to fuck you here.â
You smile prettily, and it disarms him. âIf you make me cum, you can fuck me however you want.â
Neither of you makes it to the bed, falling asleep on the living room floor instead, the blanket from the couch draped haphazardly over both of you with his arm curled over your waist.
That night had been a slip of judgment, a product of wanting something warm and soft after several months of only having his hand for company.
It happens again and again, and he keeps letting it happen until thereâs no more hiding under the guise of just fun because it somehow turns into a lot more than that.
Simon canât explain how it happensâmaybe becoming something he can touch and hold and think about oftenâbut he finds himself in an exclusive relationship with you that isnât exactly a relationship because heâs unsure of the ins and outs that they entail.
(Always has been.)
His father was a shit role model, and it was always easier finding someone new who didnât know his name or care about his scars and only wanted a nice fuck. There had never been any point in shooting for something serious when it was always out of the question for him, until now, that is.
He takes you to that over-rated restaurant overlooking the Thames Marcus never brought you to. A picture of you and him with the sunset in the backgroundâyour smile almost blinding in the photoâbecomes his home screen, and he finds he doesnât care when Soap has something to say about it.
He lets you do nonsensical shit, like buying small plants for his house that are surely going to die from him being gone before he comes up with the great idea to give you a key. Itâs just a key.
(Itâs more than just a key.)
Simon finds himself asking if he can come over more often throughout the week, which slowly moulds and shifts into nights filled with things other than sexâsleeping after a long day of work, cuddling on the couch, cooking together, going to the moviesâhe doesnât try to make a big deal out of it because you used to hang out all the time without sex.Â
(Somewhere, thereâs a but in there.)
Thereâs still no label to whatever this is, and he wonders if you want him to be the first to say the thing youâve both been dancing around for a little overâŠhe canât remember, but he knows itâs been long enough for your things to mix in with his at his house.Â
Be with me because Iâm yours, and youâre mine, thatâs what heâs trying to say, and itâs never the right time. Men like himâa little broken, rough, and jagged around the edges sharp enough to cutâarenât good with words like that.
(Thatâs what he thought.)
If he hadnât seen you talking to a guy at the pub, eyes crinkling in that same sweet way whenever Simon makes you laugh, he wonders if he wouldâve been the first to break from the start. He knows itâs your job as a bartender to be nice, but his jaw clicks at the sight of the guy leaning over the bar and into your space, almost too close.
The feeling doesnât go away until he has you spread out on your mattress under himâclothes haphazardly peeled out of the way for him to put his mouth on youâyour lips pursed tight around two of his fingers to give you something to focus on as his other hand works between your thighs, pressing down on your tongue when gurgled little sounds slip out.
He teases you with a small, pink vibrator he found inside your bedside table, your legs kicking out and toes curling into his calves.
âMine. This is mine, love,â he groans, pressing you further into the bed with his weight. âDo you understand?â
You nod, tears pearling and leaking from the corner of your eyes.
âLemme cum,â you whine, words muffled. âSimon, I want to cum. Please.â
He wonât lie that heâs close after jerking into his fist to the sight of you writhing on the sheetsâswears he can feel his heartbeat throbbing against the back of his fingersâtakes in your surprised expression when he pushes forward, impaling you on the first few inches of his cock.
His stomach twists from the squeal that escapes your throat, and fuck, your cunt, so hot and tight with little pulses that drive him crazy, only growing tighter when he turns up the speed on the vibrator.
ââMm, gonna cum. Iâmââ
He grits his teeth as you start to flutter around his cock once heâs rooted inside you. âGo onâfuckâgo on, love. Let me feel it.â
You look so perfect like this, like a dream: lips parted into an enticing little O with his name tumbling out in breathy mewls, tits hanging out from the bra he shoved to the side, eyes glassy and unfocused.Â
âSo fucking pretty.â He kisses your throat, panting into your sweat-slick skin, and itâs not long before heâs falling over the edge with you.Â
Next time, heâll have the courage to tell you: that youâre not someone he calls for a meaningless fuck on the weekend, that Simon misses you when heâs gone and canât wait to come home, that he wants to try with youâexcept not when heâs balls deep and trembling inside your heavenly cunt.
But the smile he feels against his shoulder makes him think that maybeâŠ
Maybe you already know.

Prada Shoes and I Love Yous
PAIRING: heeseung x fem!readerÂ
GENRE: smut, angst, crack, (some?) fluff, college!au, exes to lovers!au, enemies to lovers!au, socialite/richkid!au
SUMMARY:Â Life as a socialite wasnât all champagnes and designer labels, especially not with the turn your reputation took due to a simple misunderstanding. Now, you were being painted by everyone as a big fat cheater who shattered her sweet boyfriendâs heartâa narrative that couldnât be further from the truth. In reality, it was him who had betrayed your trust. Frustrated and feeling deeply wronged, you returned to society and the new school year after a summer of cutting off contact with everyone and the drama. But just when you thought you were ready to face the world again, you were blindsided by something unexpected: the lingering effect Heeseung had on you. And who could blame you? Heeseung was way too hot for you to get over in just three short months and now, seeing him with the girl he once told you not to worry about all over him? Oh, it was on.Â
You refused to be replaced, labeled as a crazy ex, or forgotten. No, you were going to make Lee Heeseung realize that you were the best motherfucking thing to had ever happened to him.Â
WC: 21.4k
WARNINGS: some extent of emotionally cheating? (not actual cheating i swear itâs kinda unintentional), jake is a bestie and fwb hybrid (kinda flirty but itâs very much platonic i swear), so much miscommunication, profanity, drinking, drugs, physical altercation, mentions of puke, slut shaming, mentions of pregnancy (no one is actually pregnant), toxic relationship, roughdom!heeseung and sub!y/n, unprotected sex, oral (m recieving), rough sex, unprepped? sex (consensual), creampie, mirror sex, deepthroating, cowgirl, dick too big?, creampie, and i am so sorry but karina is a BITCH like itâs almost campy how villainess she comes off
AUTHOR'S NOTE: hope everyone has fun with this one!! had a lot of fun writing it like and i'd love to hear you guys' feedback! love you lots <3 âșïž
Fuck Lee Heeseung. Fuck Lee Heeseung. Fuck Lee Heeseung.
This was all you found yourself repeating in your mind like it was some mantra while you reapplied your lip gloss, making sure to take one last good look at yourself in the mirror before shutting it close once you felt the planeâs wheels coming to a stop. From the outside, you looked absolutely perfect as not a single hair could be found out of place; no one wouldâve guessed that you had been on a plane for over 10 hours. But inside, you were a wreck as you felt your anxiety shooting up as your heart raced a million beats per minute.
âYou need to loosen up, you look like you have a stick up your ass.â Jake was lazily scrolling on his phone while nursing a champagne in his hand, barely sparing a glance at you. He seemed to be in a much more relaxed state than you were.
You scoffed before sending him a glare. âYou know, if anything, you should be the one panicking right now. Everyoneâs going to be talking about how we came back together.â
âGood thing I donât give a shit about what people say, right? Shouldâve thought that through before inviting me,â Jake shrugged, finally lowering his phone to look at you. His nonchalant attitude was pissing you off. âPlus, this all just looks worse because Ryujin decided she wanted to spend one last week with whatever his name was.â
He wasnât wrong. It hadnât just been the two of you in Monaco for three months; Ryujin had also been very much present. However, she found herself a summer fling named Louis, and unlike you and Jake, she couldnât find herself boarding your private jet without spending one last fiery week with her lover before saying goodbye for good and starting school again.
âMaybe we should have just stayed an extra week with her. It probably would have saved us from the shit show that I know weâre gonna be bombarded with the second we step off the plane.â You released a deep sigh before you started to gather your belongings around you.
Jake followed suit, grabbing his stuff and getting up from his seat. âWell, if we stayed back an extra week, then that would mean weâd have to deal with your momâs wrath for missing her annual end-of-summer garden party that we promised we wouldnât miss. You know how important it is for her, and to be honest, Iâd rather face Heeseungâs wrath than your momâs.â
He was right. This garden party of hers had been going on every year since even before you were born, and youâd be out of your mind to miss it. It was single-handedly the most important event every year for your family, and you couldnât even begin to fathom how your mom would react to your absence.
You reached over and snatched the champagne glass out of his hand before you downed whatever was left in it in one gulp as you braced yourself, hoping the alcohol would give you the courage you needed to step off the plane.Â
âWell, then I hope youâre prepared to take on Heeseung. Maybe heâll be nice enough to spare your pretty face. God knows itâs the only thing you have going for you.â
Heeseung was going to fucking kill Jake Sim.Â
When he woke up this morning, you were the last thing on his mind, something he seemed to have finally freed himself from. However, all the hard work he put into casting you away from his mind seemed to have been in vain, as now all he could think about was you and how you had returned after three months of radio silence with the guy you cheated on him with.
Livid didnât even cover what he was feeling, and it was evident in the way he swung his club. Each hit seemed to be driven by a surge of pent-up frustration.
âWhat the hell, man? Thatâs the third time today youâve been way off course. Whatâs going on?â Jay shot him an incredulous look as he tried to locate where the golf ball had landed.
Heeseung let out a frustrated groan as he ripped off his glove and shoved his driver back into his bag. âY/Nâs fucking back.â
That was all Jay needed to hear to understand what was going on with his friend. "Shit, I saw. Iâm sorry dude, itâs fucked up."
Heeseung was in no mindset to be playing golf right now. All he wanted was to go back home and wallow miserably in his bed. Unfortunately, they were only on hole ten of eighteen, and judging by his performance today, Heeseung knew it was going to take awhile.
"Did you know?" Heeseung couldn't help but blurt out, his frustration evident in his voice as he watched Jay effortlessly swing a shot miles better than his own.
Confusion flickered across Jay's face as he turned to face his friend. "What do you mean?"
âDid you know that she was coming back with Jake?â Heeseung felt his jaw tense as he mentioned his ex-friend.
âI didnât even know he was with her until today. Honestly, I thought heâd just fucked off somewhere and didnât bother telling any of us, considering how things went down. You know me, I wouldâve told you straight up if I had found out earlier.â Heeseung trusted Jay implicitly. He was as loyal as they came, but unfortunately, the same couldnât be said for everyone in their friend group.
"Do you think Sunghoon knew?" Heeseung's question elicited an audible groan from Jay.
If anyone in their friend group knew how Jake spent his summer, it would undoubtedly be Sunghoon. However, Sunghoon was notoriously tight-lipped, especially when it came to sensitive matters. Since the breakup, the entire friend group had undergone an incredibly awkward shift. It seemed that everyone had more or less chosen a side, and allegiances were clear.
"You know he wouldn't tell us anything if he did. It's getting ridiculous. The other day, I saw Gaeul and him having brunch or something at the clubhouse, and the moment she spotted me, she practically sprinted over to explain herself. She claimed she's still 'Switzerland' in the whole situation and hasn't chosen a side," Jay recounted, frustration evident in his voice.Â
Heeseung almost snorted at the absurdity of it all. Their friend group had never been one to keep secrets or tiptoe around each other, but the last few months had been nothing but that. The betrayal by you and Jake had not only affected Heeseung's relationship with you but had also tainted the dynamic of their entire friend group.
âLiterally, what is there to be âSwitzerlandâ about? I mean, this whole thing isnât even complicated. Everyone saw them go into the bathroom together and come out literally holding hands. Trust me, I know what she looks like after giving head, and that's literally what she looked like in that video Beomgyu sent. Plus, Karina literally heard them.â Heeseung angrily got into the golf cart as Jay fished the keys out to start driving.
âOkay, well, no offense, but in all honesty, Karinaâs probably not the most reliable source, cause sheâs in an extremely biased position, but I guess thatâs beside the point.â Jayâs words seemed to instantly bring a frown upon Heeseungâs face.
âWhatâs that supposed to mean?â Heeseungâs tone sharply switched up in an almost defensive manner.
Jay, feeling this shift, nervously cleared his throat as he stammered, trying his best not to offend his already sensitive friend regarding an even more fragile situation. âI mean, uh, well. You knowâŠâ
âWhat?â The grip he had on the seat of the golf cart seemed to get tighter as he waited for his friend to elaborate.
âDude, you can't be serious? You know Karinaâs been trying to ride your dick for the past, what, give or take ten years? I mean, we all know that sheâs never had a good relationship with Y/N, and Iâm pretty sure most of that resentment stemmed from the fact that youâve always been head over heels for Y/N.â Jay slowly parked the cart and turned off the engine as he explained.
Still not understanding Jayâs point, Heeseung furrowed his brows, shooting his friend another annoyed look before getting out of the golf cart. âWhat are you trying to get at?â
âJesus fucking Christ, youâre dense. I mean, the last couple of months before Y/N cheated on you was the closest you seemed to have gotten with Karina because of that final project that you guys had or whatever. I mean, you were with her more times than you were with your own girlfriend, and knowing Karina, she seems like she could be delusional enough to have maybe taken that as a sign that you were interested in her? I mean, this is all speculation, but Iâm just letting you know what we all saw.â
Jay cautiously treaded this topic. Heeseung was his best friend since they were babies, and he would always be on his side, but Karina was never anyoneâs favorite with her extremely polarizing personality. He had no allegiance towards her, not to mention that she wasnât actually even in their friend group and always only ever found lingering around wherever Heeseung was, so it was much easier for Jay to actually see through her. In fact, it seemed that all of their friends could pretty much catch on to Karinaâs end goal except Heeseung.
âSo you think itâs my fault that Y/N cheated on me?â The air got tense as Heeseung snapped at Jay while snatching his 7-iron out of the bag. âJust because I spent some time doing a stupid fucking school project with Karina doesnât mean it gives her reason to go and suck off one of my best friends.â
Jay shook his head even before Heeseung was done with his sentence. Heeseung seemed to not be getting the point. âFuck no, dude, thatâs not what Iâm saying. Karina has an incentive: you. If she gets rid of Y/N, then it means youâre up for grabs. Of course, Karina didnât force Y/N to get on her knees for Sim, but she was the first one to come running, telling us what happened even before Beomgyu sent that video.â Heeseung was trying hard to focus on trying to get his ball on the green as he geared up to swing while listening to Jay.
âSo you donât think she shouldâve warned me of what she heard?â He swung precisely, but it seemed that this whole course, to be precise, wasnât going easy on him. Heâd be lucky to get even a double bogey on the par-4.
Jay slightly grimaced at Heeseungâs shot. âNo, itâs not that,â he let out a sigh as he walked over to Heeseung. âLook, youâve been my best friend for as long as I can remember, and I know the past few months have been fucking hard because of what Y/N put you through, and I just want you to be careful. Karinaâs always been kind of a conniving, spoiled bitch who finds a way to get what she wants. Just because sheâs been warming your bed every night since Y/N fell off the fucking Earth doesnât mean she should be someone you start trusting.â
There was nothing he could say back to his friendâs words and it seemed that what Jay had said clung on deep to Heeseung's thoughts throughout the day, casting a lingering shadow and leaving a bitter aftertaste in his mind.
A small bead of sweat trickled down your back as the sun's relentless heat beat down on you. You took a small sip from your now lukewarm glass of champagne, its warmth doing little to refresh you. Today felt even hotter than previous years, and once again, you found yourself questioning why your mother insisted on hosting her most important event during the hottest month of the year.
Your cheeks were hurting from all the forced smiles youâd already given to family friends and important figures in your motherâs business circle. This garden party was always about promoting her upcoming collection and ensuring the continued support, financial and otherwise (not that she needed any more money), of both new and old acquaintances and partners. So, as always, it was no surprise that you were dressed head to toe in unveiled pieces from your motherâs upcoming collection. While no one could deny her incredible eye for fashion and the breathtaking quality of her creations, the white-tiered tulle dress with its plunging neckline felt entirely too inappropriate for a garden party and was getting on your last nerve. You stood out like a peacockâa testament to your motherâs outstanding handiworkâbut you weren't a fan of the attention it drew.
âI need to get out of this fucking dress,â you muttered through gritted teeth, your annoyance palpable.Â
Jake chuckled softly beside you. âI can think of a few ways to get you out of that.âÂ
You shot him a sharp look, clearly unimpressed by his insinuation. âDonât say shit like that, especially around everyone. Itâs not funny.â
âWhat? No one's around to hear, and even if they did, it wouldnât matter. Everyone already thinks weâre fucking, and to be fair, theyâre not that off.â He shrugged, a smirk playing on his lips.Â
Without hesitation, you elbowed him hard in the ribs, your face growing even more pissed off. âThatâs not funny, Jake. Seriously, shut up. It happened only a couple of times and thatâs it. If anyone hears that, theyâre actually going to think I cheated on Heeseung with you.âÂ
Your pretty face sported a cold, serious expression, leaving no doubt about how much this mattered to you.
âHoney, I told you, they already think you cheated on Heeseung with me, so this isnât going to change anything. Besides, you know damn well it wasnât just a couple of times,â Jake rolled his eyes at your dramatics.
âYeah, well, the difference is that every time I slept with you was when I wasnât dating him, so I didnât actually cheat. Youâre just making everything worse by making it seem like youâre confirming what they already assume.â Your irritation was through the roof, and the heat was doing nothing to quell your annoyance.
Before Jake could say anything else, your motherâs saccharine voice filled the space. For once, you were grateful for her impeccable timing. âOh, darling, Iâve been looking everywhere for you!â
The eventâs dress code was always an all-white affair, but even then, your mother seemed to shine brighter than any of the guests. You were almost taken aback when you fully turned to face her. âHey, Mom.â
You flashed her a tight smile, but she barely spared you a glance, her attention focused entirely on the figure next to you. Jake seemed to stiffen under your motherâs gaze. âHello, Jake. You seem to be enjoying yourself,â she said, giving his attire a quick once-over and humming in approval. âYou look quite nice. Brioni, Iâm assuming?â
âYes, as usual, the event is beautiful Mrs. L/N. Youâve definitely outdone yourself,â he nervously chuckled. Despite his attempts at flattery, your motherâs cold gaze remained fixed on him. âAnd youâre right, it is a custom piece from Brioni.â
âUnsurprising, seeing that your father is rarely seen in anything else. Perhaps you could enlighten him to broaden his wardrobe, and maybe we can see about getting you a custom piece of mine. I have no doubt the materials I use are incomparable to much of whatâs in your wardrobe already. Though, Iâm sure you already know that, since it seems much of your time these days is spent taking my beautiful pieces off my daughter.â
âMom!â You gasped loudly, your eyes widening in disbelief at her bold statement. Your mother was never one to hold back her words, but this was beyond her usual antics. Next to you, Jake stiffened even more, nervously trying to regain his composure.
"Uh, Mrs. Y/LN, I can assure you that whatever you think is happening between me and your daughter is not actually true," Jake stammered, his voice strained with tension.
Your mother clicked her tongue in annoyance, obviously not buying his claims. "Well, the conversation I overheard the two of you having before I came seemed to say something different."
âMom, can we not do this here?â You darted your eyes around, making sure that no one else was catching on to what was happening.
âWell, darling, I would usually never impose myself like this in your personal relationships, but it seems like the two of you have brought not only our families into this but now also my business as collateral just for the sake of some mindless fucking.â
You had never heard your mother speak with such scandalous vocabulary before. Seeing her like this was beyond unsettling and left you utterly speechless. Â
âMaâam, I assure you that the rumors about our infidelity are not true at all. Itâs been a huge misunderstanding thatâ"
"Jake, I've always held you in high regard, ever since you were a baby raised alongside my daughter. You've grown into a very smart and handsome young man, one your parents should be proud of. Out of respect for your mother, who you know is one of my closest and longest friends, I've tried to overlook what's been happening over the past few months. However, overhearing the two of you brazenly talking about your sexcapades in public, especially during one of the most important events of my year, is something I simply cannot ignore. This has not only strained my relationship with one of my closest business partners, but it has also jeopardized our families' standing. If anyone else had overheard, I canât even begin to think how much worse the already damaging rumors would become."
âMom seriously can you stop this,â you were furious that she would decide to do this here of all places. âThis is fucking ridiculous and you know damn well that none of those stupid rumors are true. We can talk about this later, please.â
"I believe I'm entitled to speak as I please, especially considering this is my event," she retorted sharply. "Your father and I were generous enough to allow you to spend your entire summer break away without expecting you to address this mess you've created for us. I had hoped for better judgment from you. Instead, you and Jake decided to further exacerbate this situation by turning this trip into some sort of romantic getaway. I sure hope you were at least being smart and careful. The only thing that would make this situation worse is if you were to become pregnant. Who knows, you might even be pregnant right now. It wouldnât even surprise me seeing as though that seems to be the only thing the two of you were doing in Monaco.âÂ
Jake was a stuttering mess, his face flushed with embarrassment at the accusation. "Mrs. Y/LN, I swear that's not true," he managed to stammer out.
Before he could say anything else, your mother cut him off again. "I'm not so sure I can trust you on that. How can you be so sure that you didn't knock up my daughter?"
You were seething with anger at your mother's behavior, ready to intervene when suddenly a figure caught your eye.Â
Heeseung's fist connected with Jake's jaw before you even had a chance to react. The punch caught Jake off guard, and as he tried to recover, Heeseung landed another swift blow to his face.Â
"You got her pregnant?" Heeseung's voice was filled with anger as he launched himself at Jake, who was still reeling from the first two punches.
âWhat the fuck!â Jake groaned, struggling to fend off Heeseung's relentless assault.
Beside you, your mother was in a panic, shouting for security as everyone's attention turned to the commotion that erupted in front of you.
Before you could step in, Jay appeared out of nowhere, desperately trying to pull his friend away from their former friend.
"Heeseung, stop!" you screamed, rushing to Jay's aid.
But Heeseung was relentless, disregarding his surroundings entirely. All sense of decorum was abandoned as he straddled Jake, who was attempting to dodge Heeseung's blows while pushing him away.
From the other side, Sunghoon came running over to help pull Heeseung off of Jake. "Jesus Christ, Heeseung, get off him!"
After a couple of seconds of struggle, the three of you were finally able to pull Heeseung off of Jake, though he continued to struggle in attempts to break free. Security, called by your mother, arrived and joined in to help restrain the enraged boy.
Jake laid on the grass, his previously pristine custom white suit dirtied with splatters of blood and dirt from rolling around. Heeseung didn't look much better, his own suit now stained with blood, evidence of the fight. Despite being at a disadvantage, Jake had managed to land a few good punches, evidenced by the blood dripping from Heeseungâs nose. It was a chaotic scene, with whispers and murmurs from the other guests confirming their attention on the altercation. You could sense your mother's fury, even without seeing her directly.
"What the hell is this?" A gruff voice angrily interrogated.
Heeseungâs father had never been an easy person to be around, so you couldnât even imagine how angry he currently was at his sonâs behavior.
However, Heeseung seemed not to hear his father, his eyes staying trained on Jake, who was getting up with Sunghoon's help.
âOh my, Liz, I am so sorry. Iâm appalled; I genuinely am. I'm so embarrassed. I donât know what came over him.â Heeseungâs mom quickly ran over to where your mother stood with fury and attempted to sincerely apologize.
âWe are leaving.â Heeseungâs dad yanked his son from the securityâs grip and started to drag him away, but not before also turning towards your mom with a stern look. âYes, we apologize for our sonâs behavior. We hope it didnât ruin this beautiful event, and we will be excusing ourselves. Thank you for having us.â
You were still in shock with everything, and it seemed that everyone else was too, as no one moved and stood in silence, taking in everything that had happened. There was no way this just happened.
To say the last couple of days had been hell for you would be an understatement. Honestly, it felt even worse than the days following your breakup with Heeseung, when you could at least pack your bags and leave the country. But this time, with school starting in a week, that luxury would unfortunately not be granted to you a second time. Your parents were adamant that you face the mess head-on and frankly you found yourself wishing that you never returned from Monaco.
To make matters worse, Ryujin still wasnât back. While she called every day, you still felt alone, especially since you hadnât talked to Jake since your momâs party. Rumors about your supposed pregnancy were rampant, further emphasizing your alleged infidelity, and you figured it was best to get some space from Jake until the rumors died down.
With nothing to do, you found yourself doing things youâd never normally doâlike wandering down the chip aisle, looking for something to make you feel better about your situation.
âNo, Ryujin, you donât get it,â you huffed into the phone, frustration evident in your voice as you searched desperately for anything that sounded good. âIâve gotten DMs from random people Iâve barely spoken to, asking if Iâm actually pregnant and how far along I am. Iâm so fucking sick of this.â
âOh babe, Iâm so sorry. This sucks so bad. Itâs literally so fucking absurd and Heeseung was so stupid for this like I still canât believe he did that. Donât worry though, Iâll be there soon so just hold on,â Ryujin sounded sincere as the sound of waves echoed in the background. You envied your friend, who was probably at the beach right now, getting a nice tan with her hot beau, and not miserably suffering in this stupid predicament like you were.
âUgh, I canât wait until youâre here. Iâm like seriously going through it and I just hope itâll die down once school starts, but I doubt it becauseââ
âY/N?âÂ
You were abruptly cut off by a shrill voice. Even before you turned your head to face them, you knew exactly who it was and found yourself unable to hold back an exasperated groan. âFuck, Iâll call you later, Ryujin.â
Karina had always been one of the most beautiful girls you knew, even from a young age and you couldnât deny that she looked stunning now, even under the horrendously yellow dim lights of the grocery store. But, like always, she had a knack for bringing out a grimace on your face, which you sported as you turned to face her.
âOh my God, no way! I thought it was you earlier but I was like, no way is The Y/N out shopping for groceries. But honestly, who else could it be? I mean, youâre unmistakable.â Karina held a shopping basket in one hand that barely had anything in it. She was dressed like she was about to attend a charity gala, a stark contrast to your Lululemon shorts and an old shirt from Heeseungâs closet.
âHey, Karina,â was all you could let out before she animatedly started speaking again, not giving you a second to talk.Â
"It's been so long! I mean, how long has it been since we last saw each other? You didnât even say goodbye to any of us and just left but you look great, especially consideringâoh, and congrats! Honestly, I was actually worried it would be awkward between us, but once I heard the news, all my worries disappeared. You and Jake seem so happy together, and you have no idea how thrilled I was when I heard that you guys are about to start a family. Itâs so cute and I now know that there's no reason for me to worry about you getting mad about me and Heeseung. Although I was a little surprised your boyfriend attacked mine like that, but Iâm sure it was just a misunderstanding.âÂ
Karina spoke without pausing, giving you no time to digest her words and she didnât seem to notice your growing annoyance as she continued to babble with that smug look on her face.
âWait hold on, you and Heeseung are dating?â There was no way you heard her right.
But it seemed that you did as she nodded with a bright smile on her face. âYeah itâs still kind of new only a couple of months but itâs been amazing. I mean Iâm sure you know just as well that heâs like literally the best.â Her voice slowly drowned out as you took everything in. A couple of months ago was literally when you left for Monaco so it meant that Heeseung didnât waste any time to make Karina his girlfriend.Â
âWhat the fuck, Karina?â You didnât hold back, making sure she knew you were beyond enraged at this new revelation.
Her face held a surprised expression as you cut her off abruptly. âIâm sorry, but what do you mean?â
You rolled your eyes. You knew she understood exactly what you were talking about, and it infuriated you that she was pretending otherwise. You knew Karina too well; she was reveling in the fact that she currently had something you didnât for the first time in her life.
âDrop the act, Karina. I donât have time for this shit. We both know exactly what youâre trying to do, and itâs pathetic. You and your friends can call me a slut for supposedly cheating on Heeseung, but itâs rich coming from you when you and Heeseung literally did the same thing. Not to mention the fact that you two didnât even wait a decent amount of time before getting together after he and I broke up. So honestly, I hope youâre both happy and sincerely, fuck you both.âÂ
You didn't bother to stick around to hear whatever else she had to say. As you turned and walked away, you felt your eyes welling up with tears. You thought you were over Heeseung, but clearly, that wasnât the case. The revelation of his new relationship pulled at your heartstrings, making you wonder if you ever really mattered to him the way he did to you. Nothing hurt more than realizing that the two year-long relationship you cherished above all else might have been a joke to him.
âRyujin, I really donât think Iâm up for going out,â you sighed, looking at yourself in the mirror. Ryujin, on the other side of the room, was finishing her makeup at the vanity.
âNo way, I told you, youâre not staying holed up moping around because of Heeseung again. You already did that in Monaco, and Iâm not letting you waste any more time on that asshole. Youâre coming out with us, and you are going to have an amazing night.â
Ryujin had finally come back the day before, and while having her by your side made you feel better, you couldnât stop thinking about your ex.
âI seriously doubt one night of drinking and partying will make Heeseung disappear from my thoughts,â you muttered, rolling your eyes. You knew Ryujin would end up dragging you out, but that didnât mean you couldnât complain the whole time.
âI think youâre underestimating the power of a good night out. Who knows, maybe youâll find some hottie to get your mind off everything,â Ryujin shrugged while spritzing perfume. âMaybe you should go looking for Jake.â
You shook your head at her. âJakeâs not going to help.â
âWell actually, from what I remember I think Jake helped a good bit with speeding up the process of you getting over moping about Heeseung a couple of months ago so whoâs to say that it wonât work this time?âÂ
âI am not sleeping with Jake again. That would literally make everything like so much worse. Everyone already thinks Iâm pregnant with his kid. I donât need more things to fuel that rumor.â
Ryujin wasnât wrong about your summer situationship with Jake helping to distract you, but continuing it back here would only add fuel to the fire. Not to mention, your relationship with Jake was purely platonic with some sexual attraction. That was all it ever was even back in high school, and you had both talked at length about how neither of you saw a relationship beyond friendship. So even if you went to him looking for something more, Jake ultimately wouldnât be able to give you what you wanted.
âWell then thereâs other people! What about-â You cut her off abruptly.
You cut her off abruptly. âRyujin, I know youâre just trying to help, and I really do appreciate it, but I just think sleeping with other people isnât going to solve anything. I just want to lay low this semester and focus on school. I donât want to be wrapped up in more drama.â Done with the conversation, you grabbed your purse, suddenly more eager to get to the party if it meant changing the subject.
âReady to go?â you asked, and just like that, her eyes lit up and a wide, giddy smile spread across her face as she eagerly followed you out.
The Uber ride was short, and before you knew it, you had arrived. Hyunjin was known for throwing the best parties, and tonight was no exception. The massive manor, which you were all too familiar with, was already buzzing with more people than you imagined his parents would ever find acceptable.
âHey, there you guys are!â Ryujinâs close friend Yujin, who you were also friendly with, excitedly ran over to greet you both. She had been studying abroad for 6 months and you hadnât seen her since so you were even more elated to see her.Â
âHey, Yujin! Itâs been a while! You and Sunoo looked like you were having the time of your lives in Italy.â You greeted her warmly, following her inside as she led you to where all the drinks were.
âOh yeah, it was beyond amazing, but Iâm sure nothing compares to Monaco. God, I havenât been there in ages.â She poured out shots and passed them to you and Ryujin. Without hesitation, the three of you knocked them back, grimacing slightly at the aftertaste.
âFuck, I already miss it. It took like an hour to say goodbye to Louis, and I was so upset for the first 30 minutes of the plane ride. But the good thing about summer flings is that after the goodbyes, there's nothing left to hold onto, so itâs easy to get over.â Ryujin poured another shot for both of you while Yujin reached for a can of Ranch Water.
âI literally thought they were going to try something serious since she was with him all summer. Half the time, I couldnât even find her because she and Louis were off somewhere, but I guess he really was just a summer fling.â You nudged your friend as Yujin let out an amused giggle.
âI bet! Those pics on your most recent Insta post, man, they were hot. What about you, Y/N? Any European hotties catch your eye?â Yujin wiggled her brows, and you rolled your eyes while reaching behind her for a can of Ranch Water.
âMore like an Australian hottie,â Ryujin teased, and you instantly elbowed her.
âJesus Christ, Ryujin, seriously shut up.â You shot her an annoyed look.
Yujin, however, seemed to find amusement in Ryujinâs remark as she gave you a wide-eyed look while giggling. âNo way, so itâs true then?â
âFuck no. I mean yeah, we hooked up, but I swear to God Iâm not pregnant.â You shook your head vehemently.
You saw Yujin open her mouth, but Ryujin beat her to it, grabbing your arm. âDonât turn around.â
Your brows furrowed at her panicked actions, and you started to turn your head, but she quickly stopped you. âWhat? What happened?â
âFuck, Heeseungâs here,â Yujin answered, her eyes darting around past your head. âHeâs over there near the pool table. Donât turn around.â
You stood still, heart racing, as you listened to your friends' directions. You saw Ryujin's expression shift from panic to a scowl.
âAnd he brought Karina. Sheâs stuck on him like a fucking leech,â Ryujin sneered. Even before the summer, Ryujin had always been Karinaâs number one hater, so her reaction was no surprise.
Quickly, you decided it would be best to leave the area, and the girls seemed to think the same as the three of you started to move. But before you could take a step out of the kitchen, a booming voice caught your attention.
âY/N!â Sunghoonâs voice echoed through the music, loud enough for everyone in the vicinity to hear. You stiffened as you realized your presence was now exposed to everyone.
âFuck, itâs been a long time!â He approached with a massive smile and, before you could even respond, engulfed you in a tight hug. Behind him, you spotted Jake trailing close by, rolling his eyes at his friend.
"Hey, Sunghoon," you greeted him back, debating whether to reciprocate the hug he wasn't letting go of.
"Okay, buddy, that's enough," Jake intervened, yanking his friend back.
"Oh, princess, you got even prettier while you were away! If that's even possible, but damn, you look amazing," Sunghoon's red, dopey eyes hinted at his intoxicated state.
"He's crossed," Jake confirmed, as if reading your mind.
"Oh God, why did you let him do that again?" Ryujin scolded Jake, delivering a disapproving look along with a smack on his arm.
"What the fuck! I'm not his babysitter," Jake retorted, shooting Ryujin a pointed look.
"Well, he is your best friend," you shrugged.
"I'm totally fine, you guys worry too much," Sunghoon shot everyone a smile before reaching for the drink in your hand, which you quickly pulled away.
"Yeah, Sunghoon, maybe lay off the drinking and smoking for now. I think I still have the video from the last time you got crossed," Yujin remarked, raising a skeptical brow at his current state. The mention of the video drew snorts of amusement from everyone except Sunghoon.
Instead, Sunghoon's eyes widened at her words, shaking his head vigorously. "I swear that wonât happen tonight."
"Well, it might if you keep this up," Ryujin added, recalling the infamous incident the last time Sunghoon was in this state. It involved projectile vomiting on a girl followed by passing out on her, effectively ruining any chance he might have had with her.
"Whatever," Sunghoon rolled his eyes, turning away, but before he could even take a step, he turned right back around (unsteadily with Jake stepping in to steady him), and blurted out, "Heeseung's here."
You could hear Jake cursing under his breath at Sunghoonâs words, while Ryujin nodded.
"Yeah, we were trying to sneak out of the kitchen before they noticed us, and then you had to go and yell Y/Nâs name," Ryujin added.
"Oh," Sunghoon sheepishly nodded. "My bad."
"Does he have to fucking bring her everywhere?" Jake muttered, casting another glance towards where Heeseung and Karina were.
"You know, I even heard Jayâs getting sick of her tagging along everywhere."
"Whereâd you hear that?" You shot Sunghoon a suspicious look.
âGaeul.â
"She still hangs out with them?" Ryujin scoffed, clearly annoyed.
"She claims to be the neutral party between us."
âSo sheâs still being a fucking dumbass?â Ryujin shot back, clearly unimpressed with their friendâs stance.
"Well, she still reports everything back to us, so it's not all bad," Jake tried to reason, but Ryujin wasn't buying it.
From next to you, Yujin chuckled. "Your friend group is so fucking messy, thank God I'm not involved. I'm going to find Hyunjin for some weed. Good luck sorting out your drama." She shot you a wink before briskly walking away before anyone could respond.
"Are we really that messy?" Sunghoon asked innocently, but before anyone could answer, he vomited everywhere.
You were cursing under your breath as you tried to wash the puke out of your shorts, fuming at Park Sunghoon. Thankfully, they were black, so staining wasn't an issue, but standing in your underwear in a house party bathroom, scrubbing your pants instead of enjoying the night, was infuriating. Even if you managed to clean them, you'd be stuck wearing damp pants for the rest of the night.
As you wrung out the fabric, desperate to dry them as much as possible, the bathroom door suddenly swung open.
âOh! Sorryâ Y/N?â Heeseungâs eyes widened in surprise when he realized not only that someone was already in the bathroom but that it was you.
In your haste to escape Sunghoon's vomit, you must have forgotten to lock the door. Naturally, Heeseung had to be the one to barge in.
The two of you stood there awkwardly, each taking in the other's appearance. It was technically your first real encounter since your return, discounting the brief moment at your mother's garden party before Heeseung was promptly escorted away by his parents.
He looked way too good, enough to stir butterflies in your stomach. It was unsettling how Heeseung could still have this effect on you after everything that had happened.
"Hey, Y/N," he greeted cautiously, breaking the silence. The tension in the room was palpable.
"Hey, Heeseung," you replied, unsure of how to navigate the awkwardness.
"Sunghoon was right," he blurted out abruptly, his words coming out in a rush before he could stop himself.
Your eyebrows knit together in confusion. "What?"
"I-I mean, he said... that you look even prettier now," Heeseung stumbled over his words, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I mean, not that you weren't pretty before, but, um... yeah."Â
Your cheeks warmed at his unexpected compliment. This wasn't how you had imagined your first conversation with him after coming back would go.Â
"Uh, thanks."
A few more uncomfortable seconds ticked by before Heeseung finally seemed to notice your state. "Uh, what are you doing?"
You had completely forgotten about your current attireâjust in your underwear, a lacy black thong that had driven Heeseung wild a few months ago.
"Oh, Sunghoon threw up on me after getting crossed," you explained, shaking your head in annoyance as you returned to wringing out your shorts.
"Again? Fuck, he really needs to learn not to do that. If he had a nickel for every time he puked on a pretty girl while he was crossed, he'd have two," Heeseung remarked, a hint of amusement in his voice. You couldn't help but let out a small laugh. There was no way you were actually laughing at your cheating exâs jokes.Â
Heeseung seemed to relax a bit upon hearing your giggles, joining in with a laugh of his own.
"Here, let me help. There's probably a dryer around here somewhere," he offered, finally deciding to step into the bathroom as he closed the door behind him. He bent down, rifling through a couple of cabinets until he found what he was looking for.
"Fuck, I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier," you muttered, taking the dryer from him and plugging it in before switching it on.
He reached over to hold your shorts for you while you dried them. After a few minutes, you turned off the dryer, confident your shorts were dry enough by now. "Thanks," you said, taking them from him.
As you looked up at him, you suddenly became aware of the closeness between the two of you. Your breath caught in your throat as your eyes locked with his.
Fuck he was hot.
You could feel the all-too-familiar warmth spreading throughout your body as the two of you held each other's gaze, neither daring to look away. Slowly, almost as if guided by muscle memory, you inched your faces closer until you could feel his breath on your lips, poised to kiss him. But a small voice in your head stopped you before you could fully lean in.
âWait.âÂ
Heeseung instantly pulled back. "Fuck, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that."
"No, no it's not that. I canât do that to Karina," you hurriedly explained, shaking your head. Tears threatened to spill over as the pain of Heeseung's past betrayal resurfaced. Despite any animosity toward Karina, you couldn't bring yourself to inflict that same hurt on anyone else.
"What?" Heeseung furrowed his brows, confusion etched across his face as he looked at you.
"Heeseung, you can't just fucking cheat on her after you cheated on me with her!" You shot him an incredulous look, unable to believe how close he had come to infidelity once again.
His head shook vehemently, confusion clouding his eyes. "What do you mean? If anything, you're the one who's cheating!"
"Jesus Christ, for the last fucking time, I'm not dating Jake!" You yelled in frustration.
âAnd Iâm not dating Karina!â
The two of you stared at each other, mutual confusion now evident, leaving you both speechless.
âWhat?âÂ
"Yeah, I'm not dating her! And what do you mean you're not dating Jake?" Heeseung shot back, equally bewildered.
"I literally saw her a couple of days ago, and she told me the two of you had been dating for a couple of months," you said, watching Heeseung shake his head in disbelief.
"What the fuck! She's fucking lying, we are not dating, let alone have been dating. That fucking bitch, literally what the fuck," Heeseung was beyond pissed.
You scoffed, equally heated. "Karina was literally rubbing it in my face about how happy you two were. And for your information, I have never dated Jake."
"What the fuck, Y/N? I fucking punched him!" Heeseung felt like he was going insane. Everything he had believed for the past few months was suddenly a lie.
You rolled your eyes at his outburst. "Yeah, I fucking know. I was there, if you remember! He still has a fucking split lip because of you, and my mom's still beyond mad about it."
You had to be lying, Heeseung couldnât believe your words. âThereâs no fucking way.â
âYeah you fucking dumbass, you beat him up for nothing.âÂ
âWait, wait, wait no itâs still fucking justified! He was one of my best friends who went on and fucking slept with my girlfriend!â There was no way the two of you were actually having this conversation at a raging party after not seeing each other for three months.
"No, he didn't! Or at least not while we were dating, and I'm also not fucking pregnant!" Your voice echoed in the cramped bathroom. You were still intoxicated and could feel a headache coming on.Â
"Fuck you! Literally, everyone saw you two that night," Heeseung retorted sharply, but before he could continue, it seemed he fully absorbed your words, his eyes narrowing in disbelief. "So you have been fucking Jake!"
"Yeah, but only after we broke up, not before! And you can't be acting all innocent when you've literally been with Karina!" You were annoyed by his accusatory tone. He was such a fucking hypocrite.
"Okay, but I didn't blatantly sleep with her at a party while we were still together like you didâ"
You cut him off by smashing your lips against his, needing to silence him in any way possible. You couldn't stand another moment of arguing about this.
You could feel Heeseung freeze for a second, taken aback by your action, but he quickly recovered as you could feel his lips move against yours.Â
There was nothing romantic about the kiss as the two of you hungrily pushed back against each other, fighting for dominance. Teeth clashed against each other as your tongues battled back and forth and you could barely breathe, but it seemed that neither of you considered stopping anytime soon.Â
His hands quickly found themselves ripping your top off you as yours went straight down to undo his pants and push them down. You finally pulled away from the kiss to spit on your hand before going straight back into his lips. Not a second was spared to think about your actions as you didnât hesitate to stick your hand down his underwear. He was already half-hard and you quickly wrapped your hand around his length, inciting a groan out of him.Â
While one hand worked on pushing down his underwear the other worked on pumping him. Heeseung was in almost the same state as one of his hands was found groping at your boobs, playing with your nipple, while the other also attempted to pull your underwear down.
As soon as your thong reached mid-thigh, Heeseung quickly broke the kiss to turn you around and roughly push you down against the bathroom counter. You jolted at the cold counter pressing against your already sensitive nipples but Heeseung pushed down hard on your back so you couldnât lift yourself up. You looked helpless in the mirror and without warning you felt his dick plunging deep inside of you.
You gasped at the intrusion. Sharp pain erupted within you as tears welled in your eyes and you could do nothing except tightly squeeze them shut while your hands desperately attempted to grab at anything to hold on to. Heeseung had started to fuck you without even giving you a second to adjust and your cries filled the bathroom.Â
You hadnât been fucked like this in so long and sure Jake was a freak in bed with a big dick but he had never considered fucking you before making sure you were prepped. No, this was Heeseungâs specialty. He fucking loved it and you couldnât help but also find yourself loving the pain that came with his pleasure.Â
âFucking slut, look at yourself,â Heeseung growled in your ear before roughly grabbing your hair and pulling it back, forcing you to face yourself in the mirror.Â
âPlease, Heeseung,â you could barely moan out.Â
His hand gripped your hip so tightly that he knew bruises from his fingers were sure to be left afterward and his eyes were crazed as he battered himself even harder against your cervix, giving you no respite.
âWhat? What else could you want, Iâm already fucking you. Greedy whore.â You felt yourself clench tighter around him as you heard his words. You were almost there as you could feel the tight coil just about ready to snap.
âOh fuck, Heeseung harder,â you screamed.Â
Heeseung did just as you asked and as if it was possible, you felt him force himself even deeper inside you at a faster pace. You knew he was battering deep at your cervix, but you were too focused on chasing your orgasm that you couldnât even care for the dull aching pain. His hand in your hair pushed your head against the mirror and you found yourself unable to stop yourself from drooling and fogging up the mirror. His animalistic grunts filled your ear and the grip in your hair got tighter.Â
âFuck, fuck, fuck!â You screamed out as the coil snapped and you felt yourself reaching your ultimate high. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head as you slumped against the mirror, having no strength to hold yourself up.
Heeseung was also close as you felt his cock twitch inside you and before you knew it, warm spurts of cum painted inside of you as you felt him thrust a couple of more times while he panted. He came so much that you could even feel some drip down the inside of your thighs.
âFuck,â he breathed out as he slowly pulled out, watching his cum drip out of you and land on the bathroom floor.Â
You were still slumped against the mirror, attempting to catch your breath and process what had just happened.
As your eyes connected with Heeseungâs through the mirror, a rush of emotions overwhelmed you. The weight of what the two of you had just done bore down on you, and shame began to smother you, making you feel like you were suffocating. You couldn't stay there with him a moment longer. Quickly, you dressed yourself, doing your best to ignore the aching pain between your legs. Heeseung looked confused by your sudden change, but before he could say anything, you were out the door, leaving him to dwell on the implications of your actions.
You honestly hadnât been listening to anything Ryujin had been saying for the past couple of minutes as she rambled on. Instead, you stared at the piece of salmon on your plate, analyzing each line that ran through the fish. If you didnât focus on this, your mind would start drifting back to what happened yesterday, and you'd rather shoot yourself in the foot than think about that.
âHey, Y/N, are you even listening?â Ryujin raised her voice, trying to get your attention.
Snapping out of it, you finally took your eyes away from your dinner and looked up at her. âOh, sorry, I got distracted.â
âYeah, no shit. Iâve been talking to you, and you went catatonic or something. What is up with you?â She furrowed her brows at your unusual behavior.
âNothing, Iâm fine,â you quickly responded, but you knew the second she put her utensils down that she wasnât buying it.
âDonât fucking try to lie to me. I can see through your bullshit. Whatâs wrong?â Her gaze was intense, analyzing you as if there would be an external sign explaining your strange behavior.
You sighed, debating whether to tell her exactly what had happened. Deciding against it, you realized that if you opened that can of worms, things would get even messier. âUhm, I donât know, I guess Iâm just still hungover.â
âYou didnât even drink that much yesterday, though,â she said, brows still furrowed. She had noticed you hadnât come out of your room all day and had to literally drag you out just to get dinner with her.
âAre you sick? You donât really look sick though.â
You shook your head, searching for anything to blame your odd behavior on. âUhm, I just think I bruised my cervix, and it just hurts.â
Her eyes instantly widened, and you could see her holding back a grin. âOh my fucking God, you slut. You had me thinking something actually bad had happened! When did you and Sim even run off to fuck?â
You sighed in relief, glad that she was distracted by the news you had just dropped on her. She didnât notice the lingering look in your eyes that indicated there was actually something deeper driving you mad.
âUh, quickie in the bathroom. I donât know, you were probably too drunk to notice.â
She hummed while nodding. âYeah, Iâm not going to lie, I donât really remember much after Sunghoon puked everywhere. But fuck, a bruised cervix from a quickie is insane. Oh, Yujin is going to love this.â
âYeah, itâs a fucking bitch. I feel like Iâm sitting on a knife or something,â you said. You werenât lying about this partâyou were sure Heeseung had actually bruised your cervix with how hard he fucked you last nightâbut you were fine letting her think you had slept with Jake instead.
âOh, my poor baby. No wonder youâve been in bed all day. Letâs just get this boxed up and head back to the apartment. Geez, Iâm gonna have to have a talk with Jake later.â You flashed her a smile, nodding at her suggestion, glad that this not only got her off your back but also got you out of having to stay another thirty minutes at this restaurant.

The rest of the weekend passed without Ryujin or anyone else probing into your life, and you couldnât have been happier. There were so many moments where you debated whether or not you should reach out to Heeseung, but you quickly dismissed the idea. Besides, you had blocked him on everything, and you were sure he had done the same, so there would be no point in trying.
Distracted by thoughts of Heeseung, it had completely slipped from your mind that school was starting back on Monday. Last night (thanks to Ryujin of course), you hurriedly packed your school bag and made sure you had everything for the first day.
And while you usually enjoyed school, just from today, you already felt overwhelmed. It seemed that all your professors had decided to assign work and readings for the next class. You were already swamped with assignments, feeling the weight of the semester ahead.
âOkay, but donât you think I at least deserve to know who you slept with?â Jake's voice cut through your thoughts as you walked through the library shelves, searching for a book your professor had assigned out of nowhere that wasnât even mentioned in the syllabus. You had been barely listening to his yapping as most of your focus was on finding the book.Â
âRyujin wonât stop talking my ear off about how I broke you and how you couldnât move all weekend. She thinks Iâm an ass and wonât stop scolding me like Iâm the one who did it! Iâm a gentlemanâIâd never bruise anyoneâs cervix without permission,â Jake said with an exasperated tone, trailing behind you.
âIâm pretty sure gentlemen, at least the ones i know donât beg on their knees for anal-â
He cut you off, his eyes widening. âAlright, alright! That was one time and I was drunk. Jesus, woman! And donât act like you didnât let me do itâyou were perfectly fine with it. Either way, I still feel like I should know who the fella is.â
âPlease donât say fella, itâs such a turn-off.â You scrunched your face at his choice of vocabulary, shaking your head before turning back to search for your book.
âOkay, fine, whatever. I just want to know who Iâm protecting from Ryujinâs annoying ass, and honestly, I think Sunghoon overheard her, so now we can assume the whole school knows.â It was well-known that once any news hit Sunghoon, it spread through the school like wildfire. He had a bit of a loose lip and an affinity for gossip, making him the schoolâs personal Deuxmoi, but with none of the anonymity (maybe Perez Hilton was a better comparison).
âIâm serious, Jake, you donât want to know. Just leave it. You owe me anyway.â By now, you were growing increasingly irritated with Jakeâs relentless probing and the fact that you still couldnât find the damn book.
He shot you an incredulous look. âOwe you for what? Now youâre just making up debts that donât even exist!â
âAnal,â you replied without missing a beat, already smiling, knowing his reaction.
âOh my God, Y/N, fuck you literally! Geez, if someone had told me this was the price I had to pay for putting it in the ass once, I wouldnât have even touched it with a ten-foot pole,â Jake exclaimed, and you couldnât help but giggle. You loved to mess with Jake, especially because he was always so overly dramatic and had the best reactions.
âSeriously, Jake, you donât want to know. You did your job, so thanks, but please stop bothering me about this.â You flashed him an exaggerated smile and patted him on the head.
Jakeâs eyes widened, and he stopped in his tracks. âNo fucking way.â
âWhat?â You didnât like how he was staring at you.
âPlease donât tell me you slept with Heeseung.â The smile on your face instantly vanished as you froze at his words. How the fuck did he know?
âNo fucking way. You just slept with the enemy? Are you kidding me? Do you see this?â He gestured dramatically at his face. âThis is the aftermath of my survival from his wrath and proof that I fought valiantly for you. And you go ahead and sleep with him? Oh my God, and you made everyone think I fucked up your vagina when it was actually him? Holy shit, wait until Ryujin hears about this.â You quickly reached over and clamped your hand over his mouth, realizing how absurdly loud he was being in the library.
âShut the fuck up, youâre practically screaming! And what the fuck are you even talking about? Of course, I would never sleep with Heeseung.â You did your best to mask your surprise, hoping he wouldnât catch on.
Jake shook his head, scoffing in disbelief. âYouâre such a shit liar. The only other time I remember your cervix getting bruised was when Heeseung fucked you on that yacht last Christmas. Remember how you had a hard time sitting straight at Christmas dinner?â
Fuck, he got you there.
You sighed and reluctantly nodded, closing your eyes in frustration. âOkay, fine. But please donât tell Ryujin, Sunghoon, or anyone else. I already feel like shit about it, and my self-worth is in the gutter right now. Iâve been sick all weekend just thinking about it.â
âHe didnât force you or anything, right?â Jake's face shifted to one of genuine concern, his brows knitting together.
You shook your head. âNo, of course not. Itâs just that I regret it so much. I felt so gross afterward. It was just a really, really bad drunken mistake, and I donât want to talk about it. Seriously, thanks for covering for me. Youâre literally the best because I really donât want anyone to find out. I just want to forget about it.â
Jake studied you for a moment, clearly understanding how much this was affecting you. He nodded, reaching out to give you a comforting hug, which you gratefully returned while you let out a sigh. âYeah, donât worry. I wonât say anything. Just let me know if he tries anything else or if you need anything.â
The hug was comforting, a small balm for the turmoil of the weekend. You were relieved he didnât press further or make you feel worse about what happened. However, as you started to pull away, a familiar voice sliced through the air, bringing with it an overwhelming sense of dĂ©jĂ vu. Jakeâs groan confirmed the arrival of the last person you wanted to see.
âIn the library is kinky, but what can I expect from the two of you? Always so classy,â Karinaâs smug tone cut through the air. You and Jake quickly broke from the hug, and you rolled your eyes as you faced her, already irritated by her presence.
âAre you stupid or like blind? Cause obviously if you werenât then youâd be able to clearly see we were just hugging you fucking dumbass,â Jake snapped back, his tone sharp. Normally, youâd find his sass amusing, but Karinaâs presence seemed to have sucked out any potential humor in the air.
âJesus, Jake, youâre such an ass,â Karina snapped back at him before turning her attention to you. âGet your dog on a leash, would you? Maybe you should have been more careful about who you chose to have a kid with. The anger issues are seriously concerning with this one, not to mention the aggression. Heard about what happened over the weekend.â
âKarina literally shut the fuck up. You know damn well Iâm not pregnant. Itâs not even funny anymore; youâre just dragging it out. Just fucking mind your own business,â you snapped, your anger bubbling over. You could see Jakeâs jaw clenched tight, his irritation matching your own.
âWell actually it kind of is my business 'cause Heeseung has been MIA all weekend, and I canât help but wonderâsince youâre such a slutâif you had something to do with it. The past few months since you two left were perfect, but the second you come back, everything seems to be fucked up. So tell me, what the hell happened at the party?â Karinaâs sneer was almost unbearable, and you fought the urge to slap her.
âMaybe he finally realized what a fucking bitch you are.âJakeâs voice was laced with disdain. If Ryujin was Karinaâs biggest hater, Jake wouldnât be far behind her. Even as kids he hated even having to sit at the same table as her so his hostility towards her was all too familiar for you.
Karina ignored him as her glare remained fixed on you. Her pretty face now twisted into a deep frown and you knew she was pissed. It was a stark contrast to the fake friendliness sheâd shown you just a week ago at the grocery store.
âI didnât fucking do anything, and I donât want anything to do with him, so fuck off. Seriously. Maybe Jakeâs rightâhe finally realized how much of a clingy piece of shit you are,â you shot back, frustration evident in your voice. You should have known that Karina would notice Heeseung missing from her side for a good portion of Friday night.
Karinaâs expression hardened as she took a step closer, unyielding. âYouâre such a shit liar. What did you do?â
âThis is bullshit. Letâs fucking go,â Jake said, grabbing your arm and pulling you away. Neither of you wanted to spend another second there.
âYou know he said I did it better than you, right?â Karinaâs taunt was intended to provoke, and it did just that. You froze, feeling her words hit hard despite knowing she was just trying to get under your skin.
âCâmon, letâs go. Donât fucking listen to her,â Jake urged, tugging you along again. As much as you tried to ignore her, her words had a lingering effect, and you hated that they got under your skin.
You didnât care that this was your last year in college; you were convinced that you needed to transfer anywhere far away from here. There was no way you could endure a whole year of torment from Heeseung and Karina. As if to cement this decision, today seemed determined to be the worst day of your life. The moment you arrived at your apartment, rage surged through you when you saw who was waiting for you in front of your door.
âIâm going to fucking call security,â you instantly snapped, pulling your phone out of your back pocket.
Heeseungâs eyes went wide as his hands reached out in front of him. âWait, wait, wait! Please, Y/N.â
You stared up at him, his eyes pleading with you to hear him out. Those bambi eyes always got to you, and this time was no different. With a roll of your eyes, you slowly put your phone down. âOkay, but I swear to God, if you try anythingââ
âI swear I wonât! I promise, I just really need to talk to you. Iâve tried texting you, but I think you blocked me,â Heeseung said, sheepishly scratching the back of his head.
âFine,â you muttered before walking past him, opening your apartment door, and stepping inside. You left the door open, signaling that he could come in, but he seemed hesitant, staring at the open door.
âAre you coming in or not?â
He blinked a couple of times, surprised that you were allowing him into your apartment, but he quickly followed you in and closed the door behind him. He hadnât been inside in so long that it felt almost surreal. Everything looked exactly the same, and he found himself realizing that he had kind of missed being here.
âWow, nothingâs changed,â Heeseung remarked, his tone revealing his surprise, especially as he noticed the photo of the two of you still on top of the kitchen counter.
You followed his gaze and felt heat rise to your face. You didnât really know why you hadnât taken it down. âUh, yeah, I mean, I also havenât been here for like three months, so I didnât really have time to change anything.â
Heeseung nodded, but as his eyes trailed back to you, he found himself staring, forgetting his words. You were as gorgeous as ever, but it seemed that the time away had only made him realize how even more beautiful you were.Â
âSo, what did you want to talk about?â The air between the two of you was awkward, just like at the party however, seeing him sober during the day gave you a much clearer look at him, and you wanted to fucking die. You hated that effect he had on you.Â
âOh, yeah, sorry, uh, I just wanted to check up on you. Friday was kind of intense, and you ran off before I could say anything, so I was worried. Iâm sorry for being so rough with you. I shouldnât have done that.â Heeseung had been beating himself up over how he had treated you, so much so that he hadnât talked to anyone all weekend despite his phone blowing up with messages from his friends.
âItâs fine. It was something we both wanted, and if anything, itâs on me. I kissed you first, so Iâm sorry for that.â
Heeseung shook his head. âNo, donât be sorry, seriously itâs okay, but uhm, I also just wanted to make sure you knew that I wasnât lying when I said I wasnât dating Karina. I swear Iâm not.â
Your brows furrowed as you recalled the incident in the library a couple of hours ago. âWell, does Karina know that?â
âWhat?âÂ
"She confronted me and Jake at the library, demanding to know what I did for you to ghost her all weekend." Heeseung frowned slightly at Jakeâs name, and his frown deepened as he listened to what Karina had done. "From what it looks like, she seems to believe that your relationship is much more than whatever youâre saying it is."
âWhat the fuck? I swear weâre not together. Iââ He stopped himself and sighed, realizing that to make you understand he was telling the truth, he had to tell you everything. âFuck, Iâ Uh, shit, weâve just been kind of hooking up, but I swear thatâs all.â
He looked almost embarrassed admitting the nature of his and Karinaâs relationship, and you could feel a part of your heart waver at what you heard. For him to admit out loud to you and confirm what you had thought was happening hurt despite you knowing that you didnât have a right as you two werenât together anymore.
âOh, uh, okay.â You nodded as you quickly turned around and opened the fridge. You pretended to look around as if you meant to open the fridge before reaching to get the Brita out for water. You knew that if you faced him, the tear welling up in your eyes would pour down your face.
Heeseung went into a near-panic as he saw your reaction. Having dated you for over two years and known you for your entire life, he could tell you were upset. He noticed your shoulders tensing as you kept your back to him, looking into the fridge.
âWait, wait, but I swear itâs nothing more than that, and I promise whatever happened between Karina and me is over. I donât have any feelings for herâI never did. She was just there after you left, and it just happened,â he rushed to explain. But his words only seemed to make you feel worse as he continued to ramble.
âWhy are you telling me this? You think this is going to make me want to get back with you?â You shook your head in annoyance, grabbing a glass from a cabinet and filling it with water from the Brita.
âNo! Iâm not trying to convince you of anything,â he said, now genuinely panicked. This was not how he intended the conversation to go.
âYou know what she said?âÂ
âHuh?â
âKarina, you know what she said?â He slowly shook his head, clearly confused by where you were going with this.
âShe said that you told her she did it better than I ever did,â you snapped, your anger evident as you stared him down.
His eyes widened in shock, and he scoffed in disbelief. âWhat the fuck! Iâve never said anything like that to her or to anyone, and itâs not fucking true.â
âWhat? So sheâs just lying to get under my skin?â You were fuming, frustration etched across your face. âKarinaâs a fucking bitch, but even she wouldnât just make something like that up. You mustâve hinted at something for her to believe it.â
âNo, no, no, I swear I havenât said or done anything remotely like what sheâs claiming. Sheâs a fucking liar,â Heeseung's anger flared as he defended himself, clearly outraged at Karinaâs audacity.
âWell, it still doesnât change the fact that you ran straight to her bed the second I was out of the countryâliterally one fucking day after we broke up!â You huffed, clearly pissed.
âOk well donât fucking act like you didnât do the exact same with Jake. What the hell, Y/N? It isnât my fault we broke up! You literally slept with one of my best friends!â Heeseung's frustration boiled over, clearly bewildered that you were still trying to act like you had no role in ending the relationship.
âIâve told you a million times that I didnât cheat on you with Jake! What more do I have to say for you to believe me?â You were fed up with defending yourself on this issue.
Heeseung rolled his eyes, âHonestly, arenât you tired of keeping all this up? Beomgyuâs video and Karina along with everyone else hearing about you two should be enough proof.â
âOh my fucking God! Jake went into the bathroom with me to help because I was puking my guts out. I drank way too much that night because I was so upset after seeing my fucking boyfriend cuddling with some other bitch all night! Youâre genuinely a complete moron if you think Beomgyu and Karina are reliable sources. Beomgyuâs been a fucking asshole to me since freshman year because heâs still bitter that I refused to sleep with him, and Karina has wanted to get with you for as long as I can remember. Seriously, I thought you had at least some common sense in you!â You were yelling so loudly that your throat was already starting to feel raw.
Heeseung shook his head in disbelief. He had no idea Beomgyu had even tried to make a move on you, and now that he thought about it, he realized there had always been tension between the two of you. While he knew about Karinaâs crush on him, he hadnât thought sheâd actually go as far as to lie about this. âOkay, well people still heard you two together.â
âFucking hell, Heeseung, it was a house party with a hundred people. You really think anyone could hear anything over the music? You know what, whateverâbelieve what you want. Thereâs no point in trying to convince you otherwise. Iâve been honest with you the whole time, and itâs been you whoâs been unwilling to listen. You dumped me without even considering my side, even though you were the one neglecting me during that last month before we broke up, spending all your time with Karina. Honestly, even if youâre telling the truth about not sleeping with her before we broke up, it doesnât change the fact that you emotionally cheated. The number of dates you forgot or canceled to be with her, and how many times I saw you two together on campus when you said you were just hanging out with the guys. Whatever. It doesnât matter anymore. Weâre not together. Just get out.â
Tears streamed down your face, and you didnât bother wiping them away. You wanted Heeseung to see the pain he had caused you.
Heeseung was at a loss for words as he saw the pain etched across your face. It broke his heart and he couldnât help but start to realize that maybe there was a chance you were telling the truth and that he might be to blame for everything. He felt his heart crumble. âY/NâŠâ
You sniffed and shook your head. âGet out, Heeseung. I never want to see you again.â
It had been a week since Heeseung had gone over to your apartment, and every day since, he had been determined to find a way to make it up to you. He knew what your last words to him were, but there was no way he was going to let you go that easily, especially now that he realized he was most likely the one in the wrong and that Karina was a fucking bitch. He had come to that solid conclusion five days prior when he finally decided it was time to confront her.
âOh my God, what the fuck? Seriously, where have you been? What happened? You literally just disappeared,â Karina ran over to him once she saw him at the cafĂ© he told her to meet him at.
Even looking at her face made Heeseung want to vomit. âI heard what you did.â
Karina frowned, not understanding what he was saying as she took a seat across from him. âWhat do you mean?â
âY/N told me about what you did at the library.â Heeseung tried his best to keep his tone even, attempting to mask the rage he was feeling toward her.
Karina nervously laughed, trying to brush it off. So, he was with you while he ghosted her. âOh yeah, I ran into her and Jake trying to get it on at the back of the library. Isnât that fucking insane, like in public like that?â
Heeseung wasnât in any mood to entertain her. He was already at a boiling point. âCut the fucking bullshit. She also told me what you said to her at the grocery store. I donât know what I did to make you think that weâre dating, but weâre not. I donât even remotely like you.â
âWhat?â Karina was taken aback by his words. Sure, Heeseung was never as affectionate and loving towards her as he was with you, but she thought she had made good progress in getting him to fall for her.
âYeah, so I swear to God if I hear you telling anyone else that weâre dating, I will get a fucking restraining order. You have been nothing more than an easy lay for me to get my mind off Y/N this whole time. I let you hang around me because I felt bad, but thatâs over now, especially since I realized youâve been lying to everyone, including me, about everything.â
Karinaâs face paled as she took in his words. She opened her mouth to say something, but he didnât give her a chance. âAlso, youâre delusional if you think youâre even comparable to Y/N, much less better than her. Go learn how to actually suck a dick before going around telling anyone that. Seriously, fuck off, and donât ever talk to me or my friends again.â
Heeseung took off right after that, leaving Karina sitting alone at the table. It felt like a weight had been lifted off his chest as he stormed out of the cafe. Since then, heâd been planning a way to get you to hear him out. The only thing he could come up with was outsourcing, and in this case, that meant trying to reach you through the people you hung around.
It was a no-brainer that trying to talk to Ryujin and actually getting her to hear him out would be harder than getting you to talk to him again, so that was out of the question, which left him with only one other choice.Â
Just standing in front of the apartment was making him pissed, but he knew this was probably his best bet. He let out a big sigh before knocking loudly. He waited a couple of seconds, and after a bit, he wondered if he should knock again, but before he could, the door opened.
âWhat the fuck?âÂ
Heeseung was the last person Jake would have expected to be on the other side of the door, and it caught him severely off guard.
Heeseung hadnât seen Jake since he beat him at your motherâs garden party, and while it seemed that any previous marks left on his face from the fight were gone, Heeseung still felt bad. Okay, well, actually he didnât feel that bad because he was still beyond pissed at Jake. Heeseung had by now come to the conclusion that you were most likely telling the truth about not cheating on him, but it still didnât change the fact that Jake had fucked you who knows how many times after the two of you broke up.
Jake had always been a very close friend of his since childhood, and if Heeseung was being honest, in high school there were a good number of times when he couldnât help but find himself envying his friend. It was kind of always known in your friend group that Heeseung had always had a tiny bit of a crush on you. So, when it became known that Jake had been the one to take your virginity, Heeseung was beyond crushed. In fact, he had avoided Jake for a good week, too envious of the fact that it wasnât him who had been your first. But he was quickly able to get (mostly) over it as he couldnât deny that he wasnât surprised; you and Jake had always been the closest. But now, knowing that Jake had broken bro code made that resentment resurface, and he wasnât sure if it was going away anytime soon (if ever).
âI need to talk to you,â Heeseung reluctantly said.Â
âFuck no,â Jake responded with a condescending laugh, shaking his head in disbelief.
Heeseungâs jaw tightened as he pleaded, âJake, please.â
Jake stared him down, scrutinizing every aspect of him, clearly enjoying Heeseung's desperation. âWhy? Y/N told me what happened on Monday. Youâre a fucking asshole.â
âYou donât think I donât know that? Thatâs why Iâm here. Just let me in,â Heeseung said, his patience wearing thin.
âWhatâs in it for me?â Jake crossed his arms, raising an eyebrow. Heeseung could tell he was relishing the sight of him getting so desperate.
âYou already got to fuck my girlfriend as many times as you wanted. Donât you think thatâs enough?â Heeseung gritted his teeth, his voice tight with anger.
Jake rolled his eyes but opened the door, letting Heeseung in. âYou know sheâs not your girlfriend anymore, right?â
If Heeseung wasnât so determined to win you back, he would have had no issue punching Jake in the face again. But he needed Jakeâs help, so he held back and tried his best it ignore him.
âI need your help,â Heeseung said, crossing his arms and facing Jake.
Jake barely glanced at him as he headed to the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of what Heeseung assumed was a protein shake. He started to shake it, more focused on his drink, acting almost as if Heeseung wasnât even there. âYouâre funny if you think Iâm going to help you with anything.â
Heeseung sighed once again, watching Jakeâs dismissive attitude. God, Jake was such a dick. âI know I fucked up.â
âYeah? Took you long enough to realize.âÂ
âI need help getting her back.â Jake let out a derisive snort that he didnât even bother to hide.
âHoly shit, youâre delusional. What makes you think Iâd help you?â Jakeâs laughter was infuriating, and Heeseung started to regret coming here.
âJake, I know what I did. I know thereâs nothing that can fully make up for it, but I need Y/N back. Iâm begging you, man, I need your help.â Heeseungâs pride was at rock bottom, but he didnât care. If this was what he had to let go of to win back the love of his life, so be it.
âYou literally cheated on her. Why the fuck would I help someone who cheated on her try to win her back? You donât deserve her.â Heeseung couldnât deny it anymore; he had emotionally cheated on you, whether he intended to or not and it sickened him to realize that he was responsible for your pain.
âI know I donât deserve her, and I also realize what I did and how Iâm responsible for everything. I know now that the last month before we broke up was terrible for her, and I was a complete asshole. I didnât mean to hurt her; everything just spiraled so quickly that I didnât have time to process it. I swear Iâm not trying to make excusesâthere arenât any. But the last three months have been hell for me. You donât understand how empty Iâve felt, how much itâs all hurt. Hearing that you two came back together from wherever you guys were fucked me up so badly that I ended up taking it out on you, and Iâm sorry for thatâit was fucked up. But what Iâm trying to say is that this whole summer has made me realize just how much I need her. Seeing her again has only made that clearer. I should have listened to her that night, but I was so blinded by anger about you two that I lost control, and you have no idea how much I fucking regret it. Talking to her last week made me see just how badly I fucked up, and I guess I was too caught up in Karinaâs lies to accept the truth. I know I donât deserve her, but please, I just need one last chance to make things right.â Heeseungâs sincerity was evident in every word, and Jake could tell that this was something Heeseung had been tormenting himself over for a while.
âI donât know what you want me to do,â Jake said honestly. âI donât even know how I can help. This is between you two.â
He hadnât expected Heeseung to lay everything out so openly, and he was a bit taken aback. But Jake still struggled to fully support Heeseung. He knew how miserable and broken you had been after the breakup, and he wasnât sure he could let you go through something like that again.
âI just need her to know that Iâm sorry and to hear me out just once more. I know I donât deserve it, but please. This was all I thought about this entire week, and I donât know what else to do. I mean I came all the way over here to you of all people because of how desperate I am. I know you donât owe me anything, especially after everything, but please, Iâm begging you. Help me out, man.â Heeseungâs eyes were filled with desperation, and Jake let out a sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration.
âIs Karina still in the picture?âÂ
âFuck no, and I made sure she understood. Sheâs literally the worst mistake I ever made, and I shouldâve known better. I just didnât think sheâd take it this far, but I swear, there was nothing between us to begin with. She just caught me at a vulnerable time and took advantage of it. I fully acknowledge the mess I made in the month leading up to Y/N and me breaking up, and I know itâs probably too late now, but please, Jake. Y/N is the best thing thatâs ever happened to me. You of all people should know that, so I canât just let this go without trying one more time.âÂ
Heeseung couldnât even lift his head to face Jake anymore, his eyes focused on his trembling fingers. The shame of his actions weighed heavily on him, and admitting it all out loud took a lot out of him.
A few seconds of silence passed, and Heeseung assumed Jake was deliberating. With each passing second, his anxiety spiked, and he desperately wished Jake would say something, anything.
âFuck, I canât believe Iâm saying this, but okay,â Jake said, his tone heavy with disbelief. Heeseungâs head snapped up, his eyes wide with shock. âThereâs no guarantee this will even work, but Iâll try something. Just know that Iâm not taking this lightly. If you mess it up again, Iâll fucking kill you. Iâm not kidding. The moment I see Karina anywhere near you, youâre dead. Iâm only doing this because I know how much you meant to her and how miserable sheâs been without you.â
Heeseungâs smile stretched so wide it made his cheeks hurt, but he didnât care. âThank you so much. Seriously, thank you, man. I really owe you.â
âYeah, whatever,â Jake said, rolling his eyes at how excited Heeseung was. âBut if Y/N isnât having it, thereâs literally nothing else I can do. So donât get your hopes up.â
âNo, I get it. Seriously, thank you so much. And Iâm genuinely sorry for everything. It was fucked up for me to fight you like that.â Heeseung wasnât sure if things with their friend group would ever return to normal, but heâd be lying if he denied that he missed having his friends around. A small bit of him kind of hoped this might be a step in the right direction of maybe getting everything back to normal.
âYeah, whatever. I guess I kind of deserved it for sleeping with your girl,â Jake said with a hint of sarcasm.
Okay, maybe Heeseung wasnât entirely fine with Jake being around like before as he felt one of his eyes twitch in irritation at the reminder of Jake being in your bed all summer, but he pushed the thought aside. âJust donât make it a habit.â
âWeâll see. Donât fuck it up.â
Heeseung felt another twitch in his eye. Maybe he wasnât entirely over the idea of killing Jake Sim.
You had been sort of in a weird state of limbo where it seemed that a part of you was still wallowing in the sadness that came after the whole fight with Heeseung in your apartment but also there was also a part of you that was just kind of irritated with everything and you werenât sure how to get yourself free from this state.
And it seemed the latter was taking over your current state as you let out a grunt of frustration as you attempted to hit the ball over the net, only for it to get caught and cause you to lose. Shouts of amusement came from across the court as you sneered in annoyance.
âHa! Dinnerâs on you! Oh, princess you fucking suck at this.â Jake was a little too happy about your loss as he giggled around the court.Â
Sweat drenched the both of you as the setting sunâs heat blazed relentlessly down the two of you. âYou know that Iâm usually good! Youâre just better today I guess.âÂ
You sheepishly shrugged before chugging your water from your water bottle on the side, the cold liquid instantly quenching your thirst. You were so ready to leave and get food.
âYou just got unlucky that Sunghoon wasnât here. Thereâs no doubt heâd be buying dinner. Iâve never seen someone worse at pickleball than he is.â You both let out a small laugh thinking about your mutual friend and his lack of athleticism.Â
"Yeah, honestly, I know he said he was sick or something, but I bet he just said that to dodge paying for dinner," you muttered, tossing your keys at Jake after packing up your paddle and balls. "You're driving, though."
He caught the keys without protest, shrugging as he followed you to the car. After unlocking it, he slid into the driverâs seat, immediately grimacing. âJesus, what the fuck is this seat positioning?â
âLeave me alone, itâs my car,â you rolled your eyes, watching as he adjusted the seat to his liking.
âToo nice of a car for such a shitty driver like you,â he snorted, making you gasp in offense.
But before you could fire anything back, he quickly switched the subject. "So, who's Ryujin going on a date with tonight?"
"Some new European exchange student, I think his nameâs Armand? Not sure, but Iâm pretty sure heâs French."
"Where the hell is she finding all these European guys?" Jake shook his head.Â
Pickleball was usually a doubles match with you, Jake, Sunghoon, and Ryujin, but Sunghoon had bailed, claiming he was sick (though you werenât convinced), and Ryujin was off on her date.
"I think he's in her finance classâor at least thatâs what Yujin said. But yeah, she clearly has a type," you snorted, sending Ryujin a quick text to see how the date was going.
"Thatâs an understatement. Iâm surprised she got over Louis that fast. And how the hell does Yujin still know everything about everyone despite being abroad for a whole semester?"
The circle you and your family had always been surrounded by was small, a natural outcome of the exclusive lifestyle the upper echelon of society ledâone not easily accessible to just anyone. This circle was even tighter at your school, where everyone with status seemed to gravitate. As soon as someone new entered the fold, it took only a few days for word to spread, and soon enough, everyone knew everything about them, especially if they came from a similarly privileged background. So it was no surprise that even after studying abroad in Italy for 6 months, Yujin still managed to stay in the loop.
âYou know you donât actually have to be on campus to keep up with everything,â you sighed, rolling your eyes.Â
It was frustrating, sometimes even invasive, to know that every move you made was watched and analyzed, but it seemed to be the price you and your friends paid for the lives you led.
Jake hummed in agreement, and for a few moments, the car was uncharacteristically quiet. It was unusualâJake was never one to keep his mouth shut, so his silence could only mean one thing.
"Ugh, what?" you groaned, turning your phone off and shifting your focus to his profile.
Jake shot you a brief look of confusion before turning his attention back to the road. "What?"
"Just spit it out." You knew all too well that when Jake went quiet, it meant he was holding back something importantâand more often than not, it wasnât good news.
He gave you another glance, this one doing nothing to ease the knot forming in your stomach, before letting out a long sigh. "So, the other day, someone came to see me."
You raised an eyebrow, sensing that he was trying to drag this out. It couldnât be good. "Oh my God, just tell me already. Who was it?"
Jake took a few more seconds before finally answering. âHeeseung.â
Your exâs name was the last thing you expected to hear. âWhat?â
âYeah, someone knocked, and when I opened the door, there he was, just standing there.â Jakeâs slow pace was driving you insaneâyou just wanted him to get to the point.
âJust tell me what he wanted. Did he try to fight you again? Because I swear to Godââ
âNo! No, it wasnât anything like that. He didnât come to start anything; he just asked for a favor.â Jake nervously bit his lip, his fingers drumming against the steering wheel. He clearly didnât want to tell you what Heeseung was really after.
âJake, just get to the fucking point. What did he ask for?âÂ
âOkay fine, he wanted me to talk to you about maybe hearing him out again.â Jake grimaced as he revealed Heeseung's request, sensing that the silence on your end was not a good sign. âUgh, please Y/N, say something.â
You didnât know if you should be fuming or surprised. Maybe both. âWhat did you say?â
Your calm tone caught Jake off guard as he turned into the Thai restaurant youâd chosen for dinner, parking before facing you. âOkay, you canât be mad, but I agreed.â
Your mouth opened in protest, anger filling your eyes, but he rushed on before you could interrupt. âJust listen. You know meâI wouldnât agree to something like this, especially with him, unless I really thought he deserved it. After I listened to him, I could see how genuine he was. I know he was a dick on Monday, but he came to me desperate and genuinely sorry. He wouldnât have approached me of all people if he wasnât serious.I know how much he hurt you, but I also see how unhappy you are without him. This might not be the worst thing for you two. Plus, Karinaâs definitely out of the pictureâHeeseung looked furious talking about her and promised he wouldnât associate with her again.â
You processed everything slowly, staring at Jake. âHe hurt me so bad,â was all you could manage as you shook your head, struggling to accept what your best friend was telling you.
Jakeâs eyes softened at your reaction. âI know, Y/N. Heâs still a total asshole, but deep down, you know that not having him around hurts even more. I didnât promise him anything, and I wonât ever force you to talk to him. Honestly, if I had my way, Iâd keep him far away from you. But I know you, and I see how badly all this unresolved feeling is fucking with you. I donât want that for you. So just know this is an option. It doesnât have to be now, or next week, or even this month. But if you ever feel ready to talk to him againâespecially now that it seems like you both understand what happenedâheâs willing to apologize. Iâll even be there with you if you want.â
Jake was right, and you hated that. Deep down, you knew this unresolved pain would eat you alive. Heeseung had always been part of your life, and having him ripped away, even for just a couple of months, was agonizing. You didnât know if you could just cut him out completely, so you slowly nodded. âOkay.â
Heeseung honestly had little faith that Jake would keep his promises, but he still held onto a sliver of hope. Yet, as the weeks passed with no word from you, that hope began to dwindle. After a month had gone by without any communication, he was on the verge of accepting that he had ruined the most important thing in his life. Just as he was about to let it go, fortune finally smiled on him: he spotted you outside, nervously biting your lip as you waited for his class to end. A grin spread across his face the moment your eyes met, and he walked toward you.
âHey,â he greeted softly.
His smile made your heart race, and it was annoying to realize that he still had that effect on you after everything that had happened. âHey, I was wondering if you were busy. I think Iâm ready to talk.â
Heeseung mentally noted to give Jake the biggest thank you ever. Despite his doubts about Jake's ability to follow through, he couldn't be more grateful to be proven wrong.
âYeah, of course. This is my last class of the day,â he said, eagerly nodding as you both walked out of the building.
âOh great, I wasnât sure about your schedule, so I was just hoping I got lucky and you were free.â The awkward tension between you was palpable. âDo you want to grab lunch? I can drive if you didnât.â
âYeah, that sounds perfect. Jay drove us today, but Iâll just text him that he doesnât have to worry about me.â Heeseung couldnât help the smile spreading across his face. It was amazing how much your presence lifted his spirits. You were like a ray of sunshine, and just being able to look at you felt pretty fucking incredible.
You shot him a small smile before nodding, leading him to your car. âOkay, perfect.â
The ride to the restaurant was quiet, with barely any words exchanged until you both placed your orders.
Knowing that silence would make everything feel pointless, you mustered the courage to clear your throat and initiate the conversation. âJake told me you really wanted to talk to me again.â
Heeseung nodded without hesitation. âYeah, Iâm not going to lie, I really didnât think heâd actually help, but Iâm so glad he did. I hope you didnât feel forced or anythingâthatâs the last thing I want. If you ever feel that way during this conversation, I would completely understand if you just walked away.â
You nodded, recognizing the sincerity in his words. It gave you reassurance about his intentions. âI wasnât forced or anything, but it did take some time. Honestly, I didnât want to hear you out again, especially since last time ended badly. But Iâve had time to think, and Iâve come to the conclusion that I need to do this, at least for myself, to move forward from everything.â
âIâm really glad you gave me a chance to talk to you again. Y/N, I know this might not mean much to you, but I truly want to say Iâm sorry.â Heeseung sighed before continuing, âIâve had time to reflect on everything, and Iâve realized that what I did was unfair to you and hurt you in ways I never intended. None of this was your fault, and Iâm so sorry for putting you through that.â
Hearing those words felt like a wave of relief washed over your aching heart. It was as if you had been yearning to hear him acknowledge your pain, and his sincere apology felt like a crucial step toward healing. Yet, one lingering question held you back.
âWhy did you do it?â you asked softly, almost afraid to voice it. You noticed Heeseungâs eyes soften at your words.
He sat in silence, contemplating your question. Why had he abandoned you during the last month of your relationship?
âIâm not sure,â he blinked, his brow furrowing in distress. âI know thatâs not a good enough answer, but honestly, I donât even think I understand it myself. I really donât want this to sound like an excuse, but I didnât realize what was happening until it was too late. That project consumed so much of my time, and unfortunately, that meant spending all those hours with Karina. It became a routine, and I thought it would help me finish the class with a good grade. I never stopped to consider if Karina had ulterior motives, and Iâm so sorryâI never thought about how this would affect you.â
You were unsure how to process his words, but you appreciated his honesty and let him continue. âI didnât mean to blow you off or prioritize the project, which ended up meaning prioritizing Karina over you. That was never my intention. I hope you understand that I never saw her as a replacement or thought she was better than you in any way, especially not romantically. I swear nothing happened between us until after you left for your trip. Even then, I was just so angry, and she happened to be there. She was only an outlet for my frustration, and I know thatâs probably not what you want to hear, but I canât deny that something happened. I just need you to know that aside from the physical, there was nothing else with her.â
Heeseung grimaced as he admitted all this. The weight of his actions felt unbearable, and when he saw your faceâso sad, struggling to hold it togetherâit made him feel even worse. He hated that he was the cause of your pain.
You nodded slowly, your chest tightening as you absorbed his words and another sigh left your mouth. âThat last month was so unbearable for me. It was literally hell. You have no idea how many nights I spent blaming myself, thinking I drove you to another girl. But what hurt even more was the aftermath. Iâve known you for so long, and I never realized how much you meant to my life until you were just⊠gone. I felt so lost without you.â
âIt was the same for me. Y/N, youâve been the love of my life since we were kids. Youâve always been my dream and literally everyone around us knows how much youâve always meant to me. Iâve dated around and hooked up with other people but at the end of the day, I just kept coming back to you. Youâre everything Iâve ever wanted. Youâre my home. Thatâs why I had to take this chanceâto see you again, to beg you to hear me out one last time.â His voice trembled, and a tear slipped down your cheek as you felt the weight of his desperation. Your heart ached, torn between the pain of the past and the flicker of hope in his eyes.
He reached over to take your hand in his, the warmth of his familiar touch sending a jolt through you. A small, hopeful smile broke through his anxiety. âI love you, Y/N. I truly believe youâre it for me. But if you need me to let you go, Iâll do it. Iâd do anything to see you happy.â
âHeeseungâŠâ The words barely escaped your lips before tears started streaming down your cheeks. You couldnât hold back your emotions, even in this crowded place. His confession pierced through the defenses you had built, reaching deep into the empty spaces you didnât even know existed. You remembered all the pain he had caused, the scars still fresh, and yet, despite everything, he was still your Heeseung. Your heart ached with the undeniable truth that he was your destined other half, and you couldnât bring yourself to let him go completely.
In that moment, amidst the whirlwind of your emotions, the right path became unmistakably clear. You took a deep breath, feeling the weight of your feelings shift into something resolute. With trembling hands, you squeezed his. This wasnât just about forgiveness; it was about embracing the possibility of healing together. âI canât let you go, not now,â you whispered, your voice thick with emotion. âLetâs find our way back.â
No one had ever warned you how difficult it truly was to rebuild something broken, even with someone youâd known your entire life. But now, standing on the other side of that struggle, as you watched the pieces of your relationship with Heeseung slowly fall back into place, you realized that every effort had been worth it. The awkward silences, the tentative steps, and the raw vulnerabilityâit had all led to this unexpected peace. Months ago, you wouldâve laughed if someone told you not only that youâd be back together, but that youâd be more in love with Heeseung than ever before. Yet, against all odds, here you wereâmore sure of him, more connected, and somehow, more in love than you ever thought possible.
It had been two weeks since that lunch, two weeks since you both decided to give things another shot. Although hesitation still hung between you, trust was slowly rebuilding, and you could feel the progress with every passing day. The real breakthrough came when you got solid proof that Karina was no longer a looming threat. It seemed that Heeseungâs rejection hit her harder than anyone expected, leading her to pack up and flee to her familyâs summer home in Lake Como. Word spread quickly that she was taking a semester off to âhealâ from all the so-called negative toxicity, but honestly, you couldnât care less. And it seemed that it wasnât just youâeveryone in your circle seemed to be rejoicing the second her plane left the tarmac, collectively exhaling as though theyâd been holding their breath for months. Her departure felt like the final nail in the coffin of a drama that had dragged on far too long, and for the first time in a while, you felt truly free from the chaos.
You and Heeseung had agreed to take things slow, both afraid to fuck up the fragile foundation of your newly rekindled relationship. While you often found yourself holding back more than you were used to, the fresh start was also exciting, like falling in love all over again. The honeymoon phase was in full swing, and honestly, you were soaking it up. So much so that it seemed your entire friend groupâfinally restored, thank God (you were sure youâd even seen Jay shed a tear when he was reunited with Sunghoon)âwas playfully revolting at how inseparable you and Heeseung had become. But despite the jokes, everyone was genuinely thrilled to see you two back together. Even the soft launch on Instagram stirred enough commotion that your mom called, confused. But you didnât care about anyoneâs reactions, because for the first time in a long time, you were truly happy.
âIâm surprised your little purse dog isnât with you,â Yujinâs voice snapped you out of your thoughts as she appeared out of nowhere, making you jump.
âWhat?â You shot her a confused look.
âHeeseung! Heâs like your own little purse dog these days. I donât think Iâve seen you two apart since you got back together,â she teased, giving you a smug grin before snatching your drink from your hand and taking a big swig.
You snatched it right back, rolling your eyes. âThat is not true!â
But the grin on your face betrayed youâyou knew exactly what she meant.
Your half-hearted attempts to deny her claims were cut short when yet another voice chimed in, startling you once again. "Nah, Yujin's right. You two are capital C clingy."
"Stop sneaking up on me!" you groaned, shaking your head at both Ryujin and Yujin. They, of course, found your irritation hilarious. Before you could protest further, Ryujin also reached over and grabbed your drink, taking a long sip without hesitation.
"Oh my God, just take it!" you exclaimed, shaking your head in disbelief. You turned to grab a fresh cup, already resigned to making yourself another drink.
"But seriously, where is Heeseung?" Ryujin asked, glancing around the packed house, her eyes scanning the crowd for your boyfriend.
Jake had thrown a party to celebrate Karinaâs dramatic exit, and it seemed like everyone you knew had shown up. His place was absolutely massive so it was insane to see the entire place bursting with people, not a single corner empty.
You shrugged as you added ice to your drink. "Not sure, I saw Jay dragging him out to the pool. I think theyâre playing beer pong. You guys do realize we havenât been together every second, right?â
Yujin scoffed. "You sure about that?t At least from what Iâve been seeing Iâm having a hard time believing that."
âYeah, babe, I donât think thereâs been a single day this week you havenât been with him,â Ryujin added. But when she noticed a slight frown tugging at your lips, she quickly backpedaled. âBut thatâs not a bad thing! You guys are back together, and honestly, you seem so much happier and more in love. Weâre happy for you.â
Yujin nodded in agreement. âYeah, itâs cute. Almost sickeningly so. But seriously, weâre all just glad you two are happy again.â
Right on cue, you felt a familiar arm wrap around your waist from behind. You knew instantly who it was. âAww, thatâs so sweet, Yujin. Glad we have your support,â Heeseung teased, reaching out to fist-bump her.
"Were you out playing beer pong?" you asked, glancing up at Heeseung.
He nodded with a grin. "Yeah, Sunghoon and I absolutely annihilated Jay and Jake. Those two suck every single time, but they keep teaming up like theyâve got something to prove. Not that Iâm complainingâit just means we keep winning. The loser had to admit the otherâs dog was better, and Sunghoon had Jake practically in tears, saying Gaeul was superior to Layla. It was almost cruel. Laylaâs literally upstairs, and he ran right up to apologize to her."
Ryujin snorted. "You guys are such kids. What kind of punishment even is that?"
"Hey, Iâll have you know that when it comes to Gaeul, Iâd put my fucking life on the line for her!" Sunghoon appeared out of nowhere, clearly having overheard the mention of his beloved dog.
"Yeah, donât mess with his dog. Itâs, like, actually serious for him," Heeseung added, backing up his friend with a smirk.
You couldnât help but smile. It felt so good to have everyone back together, the easy banter flowing like it always had. The boys, especially, had clearly missed each other. Things were a bit tense between Heeseung and Jake at first, but once Sunghoon and Jay rejoined the group, it felt like no time had passed at all. Of course, Heeseung wasted no time making it clear that you were off-limits now, even threatening that heâd shave Jakeâs hair off if he so much as thought about crossing that lineâand judging by Jakeâs face, it was a threat he took seriously.
As Sunghoon passionately defended his dog, you felt Heeseung's arm tighten around your waist. He leaned in, his breath hot against your ear, sending a shiver down your spine. âI donât know about you, but I can think of something way better than listening to Sunghoon go on about his dogâs honor,â he whispered, his voice laced with mischief. âHow about we check out one of the way-too-many bedrooms upstairs?â
The suggestion came with that familiar cheeky tone, and you didnât need any convincing. Without a word, the two of you quietly slipped away from the group, who were still caught up in their conversation about pets. Heeseung was rightâthere were far too many rooms in this house, but luckily you knew exactly where to find a quiet, empty one.
Your body hadnât even fully crossed the threshold before Heeseung captured your lips with a fervor you hadnât felt since Hyunjinâs party. When you said that you and Heeseung were committed to taking your relationship slowly, you truly meant it. Sure, the two of you had made it to third base, but you had intentionally held back from rushing into sex, wanting to protect the delicate balance of your relationship. Yet, in that moment, it was clear that neither of you was opposed to going all the way. You both had been holding back for far too long.
Shutting the door behind you, he slammed you flat against the it as his tongue explored inside your mouth. You were panting against his lips as you reached for his clothes. It was obvious neither of you were particularly interested in taking it slow.Â
âGod youâre so fucking hot,â Heeseung didn't hold back his groan as his hand pulled your top over your breasts and cupped one in his hand, groping it as he deepened the kiss. You scratched a hand against the nape of his neck eliciting another low groan from him while his lips trailed down from your lips down to your neck. His touches had never felt better and you were yearning to feel him closer and deeper.Â
While his lips worked their way down, you didnât waste any time pulling your leather pants down, revealing the same pair of black thongs that you had been wearing the last time the two of you had sex and Heeseung groaned against your skin once he realized.Â
âFuck, youâre going to be the death of me.â You giggled at his response and quickly tugged him towards the bed, leaving behind a trail of clothes as the two of you continued to get rid of your clothes until you were left bare.Â
Your hands firmly gripped his shoulders once he had finally stripped and you pushed him down on the bed as you also went down on your knees. His mouth was slightly agape as his eyes twinkled at the realization of what was happening.
âIâve missed your cock so bad,â you purred before letting a wad of spit fall from your mouth and straight on his rock-hard dick.Â
His eyes instantly rolled back when your hands wrapped themselves around his length and worked their way up and down, adopting a steady tempo. Your eyes never left his face as you held a determined look in your eyes, eager to please him.
âFuck, just like that,â Heeseung barely managed to pant out as his eyes connected with yours.
You couldnât hold back a smile. Knowing that your touches had him falling apart like this in pleasure had you growing overcome with lust. There was not a better sight than the one in front of you and you couldnât break away from witnessing his every reaction even as you slowly started to lick his tip.Â
He was panting hard as he watched you lick up and down his shaft before swirling your tongue around his sensitive tip that was dripping with precum. And when you sunk down, allowing his dick to find its place in your warm tight throat, his hands went straight to the back of your head, pushing you further down and inciting you to choke on his length.
Itâd been a while since youâd deep-throated anything and you felt the tears instantly prick at your eyes as you gagged around his thick cock. You concentrated hard, closing your eyes to ease your throat as you slowly started to bob your head.
Saliva escaped down the corners of your mouth as the tears were now fully escaping your eyes. The filthy sounds of you gagging filled the room along with Heeseungâs deep grunts. His hands were fully pushing your head down as he thrust up, yearning for you to take him deeper. You tried your best to swallow around his as you searched for air, but he was relentless and pushed you until you couldnât take anymore and had to slap the sides of his thighs for respite.Â
âJesus Christ, Heeseung!â You gasped for air before coughing when he finally let you go, realizing how brutal he had been treating your throat.
âShit, sorry,â his eyes were wide as he reached for your face, pushing your sweat-drenched hair away from your face. âItâs been so long and you felt so good, Iâm so sorry-â
âShut up,â you shook your head as you pushed him back on the bed. You ignored his apologies and quickly got on top of him, ignoring the fact that you had just been brutally choking on your boyfriendâs dick.
You were already dripping wet and Heeseungâs eyes couldnât take his eyes away from your glistening pussy hovering over his dick. His hands guided themselves to your hips and you slowly teased him as you rubbed the tip of his dick at your entrance.Â
âPlease,â he pleaded desperately and that was all you needed to hear before you slowly sunk yourself down his length.
The two of you let out groans and you couldnât help but heavily pant as you went lower, feeling him deeper in you. You felt so full that it felt like you could feel him all the way up your throat. Heeseung was massive and despite having loads of experience riding him, every time it felt like almost too much for you as your body felt like it was being stretched beyond its limit.
âFuck, youâre too big,â you whimpered as you felt your body slumping over his, trying your best to get adjusted to his side.Â
His mouth found yours as he passionately kissed you while his hands found your breasts, rolling your nipples between his fingers. âYouâre taking me so well princess.â
As he praised you, you found yourself slowly attempting to move your hips and before you knew it, you were moaning against his lips as you moved up and down his length. The pleasure was overwhelming and you couldnât stop. The stretch still stung, but the pleasure that came with it was more than anything you couldâve asked for.
âHeeseung,â you moaned out loudly as his hips thrust up to meet yours, forcing you to feel him deeper.
The room was filled with your wanton moans that didnât stop chanting his name and the sounds of his balls slapping roughly against your pussy. His grunts were getting animalistic and before you knew it, he had flipped the two of you over changing the position and taking over.Â
âOh my God!â You screeched as he moved your legs to hang over his shoulders, causing the new position to allow him to reach you deeper if that was even possible.
He relentlessly pounded against your sweet spot, âYou feel so fucking good. Perfect pussy made just for me.â
His dirty talk had you whimpering and you found yourself reaching down for your clit quickly rubbing it, helping you reach your orgasm faster.Â
âIâm almost there donât stop,â you instructed, and with a couple more hard thrusts, you found yourself loudly crying out as you found yourself reaching your peak.Â
You clung to him tightly as you rode out your orgasm and could feel him twitch inside you before also cumming closely after. He filled you to the brim with his cum as you limply laid there taking everything he gave you. Once he was finished, he slowly pulled out inciting a small whimper from you and you could feel all his cum slowly pouring out of you and down your leg.Â
Heeseung, seemingly just as worn out as you were, plopped right next to you before pulling you close to him, cuddling you. A huge smile formed on your face as you turned your head to face him and kiss him, someone pounded on the door.
âYou two are so fucked for that! You do realize Laylaâs room is right next door!âÂ
Bonus:
It was unbelievable how fast time had flown, especially now, standing with all your closest friends in matching caps and gowns. You couldnât help but marvel at the fact that youâd all made it through college in one piece, still tight-knit as ever. It was almost enough to bring you to tearsâif you werenât so distracted by how uncomfortable your dress had become under your gown. You kept fidgeting, trying to adjust it for a bit of relief.
âStop wrinkling your dress!â your mother scolded, while busy straightening Jakeâs tie.
âBut no oneâs even going to see the tie under the gown,â Jake whined, only for your mom to shoot him a stern look that silenced him immediately as she returned to perfecting his outfit.
True to her word, your mom had finally gotten Jake head to toe in one of her custom pieces (minus the cap and gown). âI donât care if anyone sees it or not. You are not wearing one of my designs without it being flawless,â she insisted, focused on making sure everything was perfect.
You could hear the quiet snickers behind you, and without even turning around, you knew Sunghoon and Ryujin were loving every second of this. They had already survived your motherâs meticulous once-over and were now relishing in watching the rest of you squirm under her scrutiny.
"Yeah, come on Jake, stop being so fussy. You should be grateful she's even doing this for you," Heeseung chimed in, grinning. His playful jab at Jake was laced with just enough sweetness to win over your momâor at least, that was the plan.
Your mom still hadnât entirely forgiven Heeseung for the disaster he caused at her garden party, and her approval of your rekindled relationship was, at best, tentative. But it was clear she was slowly warming up, especially with the way Heeseung never missed a chance to flatter her.
âAlright, now you look presentable. Donât you dare mess with it during the ceremony,â your mom finally declared, stepping back to give Jake a final once-over. She then turned her sharp gaze on the rest of you, making sure everyone else met her high standards.
You exchanged a glance with Sunghoon and Ryujin, who were both barely holding in their laughter. They clearly found your momâs unofficial role as wardrobe enforcer far more amusing from the sidelines.
âOh, you all look so beautiful,â your mother said, her smile softening in a way you werenât used to. The warmth in her gaze caught you off guard, and suddenly, the stuffiness of your dress was the last thing on your mind. As your eyes met hers, the reality of the moment hit youâgraduation day, surrounded by your closest friends, all of you about to step into the next chapter of your lives. You could feel the emotions welling up, tears prickling at the corners of your eyes as you took in the sight of everyone in their caps and gowns.
Heeseung, as if sensing your shift in mood, gently tugged your hand into his, threading your fingers together. He squeezed your hand and gave you a reassuring smile, grounding you just when you needed it most.
âCome on, letâs take a picture before we leave,â you suggested, grabbing Heeseung's hand and motioning to your friends.
Your group huddled close, arms draped over each other, laughter bubbling up as your mom snapped away on her phone. Heeseungâs arm stayed firmly around your waist, keeping you close while you smiled for the camera. The joy of the moment, the closeness of your friends, felt like the perfect snapshot of how far you had all come.
As soon as the last picture was taken, everyone started to drift toward the stadium for the commencement ceremony. You watched as the crowd began to gather under the soft glow of the setting sun. After a quick hug and goodbye to your mom, you turned to follow your friends toward the entrance gates.
Just before you could step through the gates, Heeseung gently pulled you aside, his fingers brushing your arm. He leaned in close, his breath warm against your ear as he whispered, âI couldnât have done any of this without you. Iâm proud of us.â
His words made your heart swell, emotions bubbling up in a way that almost took your breath away. You looked up at him, your smile soft and full of everything youâd been through together. âI am too,â you whispered back, a mixture of relief and joy filling your chest. âWe made it.â
The air was cool, a gentle breeze lifting the corners of your graduation gown as you looked at Heeseung, remembering how uncertain things had once seemed. But now? Everything felt like it was finally falling into place. The obstacles and heartbreak had only made you both stronger.
As the sun began to set, Heeseung took your hand again, just like in the room earlier. This time, though, he brought it to his lips, brushing a light kiss across your knuckles before pulling you closer.
âI love you,â he said quietly, and it wasnât a grand declarationâjust a simple truth that felt completely genuine.
âI love you too,â you answered, your heart full.
Standing there, wrapped in each otherâs arms, the future didnât seem so intimidating anymore. It was uncertain, sure, but with Heeseung beside you, you felt ready for whatever was next.
