You know I'm a TOG girly and lately I haven't been able to stop thinking about Lorcan or Fenrys with a singer/musician
If you get the reference you’re cool, I don’t make the rules.
Happy or sad?
All Lorcan wanted that night was to get drunk. Drown out the swirling thoughts. The betrayal. The anger. To disappear in the crowd buzzing around the tavern. To people watch from the corner. Quickly projecting his thoughts onto them. But he didn’t get to finish the first ale when his ears picked up on a burst of laughter that made something tingle deep beneath his skin. He looked up. Assessing the full room. Jumping from a face to a face but none seemed quite right.
The first strums of music made Lorcan turn to a completely new direction. And there you were. He usually hated it when others smiled. The fuzziness made him sick to his stomach. But there was something about you about your smile that had him hypnotized and if he could write it down to a lack of lovers as of late at the beginning it all fully crumbled as you upped your mouth and the most angelic voice filled his senses. Lorcan hadn’t heard a voice so soothing before.
His eyes followed you as you twirled around singing ancient fea songs, the sailors fighting the storms, the aches of love. He watched as you swirled around the different tables. Leaving the ones who were at your mercy with a mouth wide open. As much as he tried to fight it he couldn’t. Lorcan gripped his cup so hard he was convinced it would snap when you finally saw him there lurking.
And then you were there spinning and singing and you were everywhere. All around him. Inside his bloodstream. Your blazing eyes looking right through him. You reached up brushing his jaw as you sang about a soldier coming back from war. The battle wounds. As if every word was plucked from his life. As if you saw his sorrow.
He felt like a creep waiting out till the tavern cleared out. It was late and he knew that no one was technically allowed inside anymore but he still slipped back in. Catching a glimpse of your back as you washed the last glasses for the night. “We don’t sell anymore”, your voice made Lorcan jump slightly, he usually was a master of being undetectable. “I just…”, he cleared his throat, “I’m traveling by. Your singing was a nice escape tonight”. He couldn’t believe the words spilling through his lips but he knew he meant them. You halted, slowly putting the last of the glass down, reaching to dry your hands.
“The charm of the small town”, you shrugged with a slight smile, reaching out to pour him a drink but Lorcan was quick to stop you, “I don’t want a drink”. You looked back at him, the tired eyes. “I don’t sell myself if that’s what you’re after”, you crossed your arms over your chest. “No, Mother, no”, he quickly lifted his hands in defiance, “I want to hear you sing one more time”.
A pang of pain shoots through you as if the darkness of his eyes poured the suffering into you. “Pull up a chair then or do you prefer to stand”, you pointed towards the table. A light smile painted his features and something told you that he smiled rarely. You walked onto the stage on the side of the taverna, throwing your loose waves behind your shoulders.
“Happy or sad?”, your eyes locked back on him and you knew that looking away was gonna be so hard. “Sad”, he mused, running a hand over his stubble. “Careful, I will break your heart”, you tried to joke but his face stayed stone cold. “I would have to have a heart, to begin with, love”, he shrugged. A shiver ran through you. You nodded blinking rapidly for a moment as you let his words settle in. And then… then you sang.

Okay since we were talking about our beloved Lorcan earlier 😂
What about Lorcan falling in love with one of the newer fae in Aelin's court? Like a fae who took over for one of the Lord's after the war?
*smiles in evil fox* I had way too much fun...
Smartass
Lorcan always knew that he liked his females strong-minded. He liked the bickering. He liked the teasing it brought. A game of some sort. Chasing and catching. Charming. He wasn't picky about the looks. It's the brain that he valued. Had spent way too many nights in taverns, with ladies who only knew how to bounce their breasts but the words that came out of their mouths made him want to rip his hair out. He was sure his life was going to be doomed by careless messing around. One night adventures and fleeting the moment he was done.
But you just had to walk into his life. And turn his ancient world upside down. He was accompanying Aelin in one of her meetings regarding the reserved army she wanted to recruit. She said that she needed Lorcan as her formal army commander to run over the details with a commander of allay troops just in case.
Well, one thing Lorcan wasn't expecting was a female. Tight armor like a corset, pants that accompanied the high slits of your dress shirt. Lorcan had forgotten his name for a moment as he watched you walking towards them. "See something you like?", you smirked at the male, making Lorcan swallow thickly, your voice alone could send you to his knees yet all he said was, "No, but good to know that you're so full of yourself". You let out a chuckle as you walked past him. The scent of you made Lorcan growl slightly.
It was a torturous week. Watching you. Sensing you. Hearing you. You were a tough cookie. Every time Lorcan had tried to jab you. You had always come out on top. "There's no way to cross the mountain", he said in one of the last meetings of the day. You just turned to him, "Oh, really? You are now an expert in that too?", you chirped. Fenrys snorted across the table. That man had attended every single meeting now that Lorcan was being put in his place daily. "I've traveled through that area countless of times, sweetie", he swilled his drink in his glass, "You haven't even been born yet".
Crickets sounded across the room as you watched him for a moment. "Careful your old age is showing", you chirped, dabbling your nail on the map, "I can ask a healer to make you a tonic so you would not forget to button your pants in the morning".
Lorcan let out a warning growl, grip on his glass tightening. Even Gavriel let out a chuckle. You threw the male a sympathetic look, "Did I bruise your ego, baby boy?", "You're walking on thin ice, dove", he pointed a warning finger at you. You leaned over pretending to bite it, "I'm commander Y/N to you".
And this went on and on. As if you two were in a silent battle with one another. Leading one another on. Yet there was something about you. The way you laughed sent shivers down Lorcan's back. Even if you pissed him off, he still walked right beside you as you monitored the training of the soldiers. He listened as you spoke to his man. His gaze kept them all in line because, maker, help them if Lorcan sensed their thoughts going elsewhere.
When the time for you to go came, Lorcan found himself dreading the moment. His mood dropped then he saw you saddling your horse, humming under your breath. Yep, you were the prettiest, strong-minded female he had ever seen. "Came to wish me a smooth journey back?", you straightened your posture, and brushed your hair away from your face. Lorcan leaned against the wall of the barn. "Nah, wanted to cut your saddle's leather", he breathed, making you let out a laugh. Even Lorcan felt his lips curving upwards.
"And here I thought you genuinely liked me", you stepped closer to him, shaking your head. "I hate smartass females like you", Lorcan growled, predator eyes piercing at you. You nodded your head, before quickly pulling at the flaps of his shirt, yanking him closer to you. Your lips met his and Lorcan's hands instantly reached for you. It was desperate and messy. Your heart was beating so loudly in your ears that you couldn't hear anything else.
You pulled away breathlessly, "A parting gift of sorts", you muttered, brushing your finger over Lorcan's lips, trying to get the red tint off, "So you wouldn't forget just how much you hate me". Lorcan growled as you stepped out of his embrace, turning to walk towards your horse. "When I'll get my hands on you...", Lorcan called after you, voice deep. "Actions speak louder than words, commander", you chirped over your shoulder. So Lorcan stepped forward, more than happy to show you the power of his actions.

Send out an army to find you
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
request: can i please request a lorcan x reader where maeve kidnaps reader who is pregnant. She wants lorcans child because he left her service snd she wants someone sith his powers so she tries to keep reader until she gives birth but she is saved by him.
warnings: blood, implications of death, capture, pregnancy. The good stuff.
In other words your girl got carried away....
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
Lorcan felt as if the ground had cracked beneath his feet. He fell as if he was freefalling as if he knew that the only fate that awaited him was painful death. He sensed the panic through the bond while he and the rest of the cadre had been training in the woods. The sheer amount of it had made Lorcan's knees buckle. And then he ran. He ran like he had never run before. Body moving on its own, fully trusting his instincts. He didn't care that the house might be crawling with whatever creatures had managed to get inside. The sight of the door barely hanging on its hinges was enough to make bile rise in his throat, yet he strode inside.
"Y/N", he called, going from room to room. There was broken glass everywhere, the chairs in the dining room were broken to pieces, and the utensil drawer was open. All Lorcan could smell was panic. Pain. Fear. His heart was beating so fast, he could feel it all over his body. "Y/N", he shrieked once more. He smelled you still. And that could mean two things: either he was just a heartbeat too late, or you were still here. He prayed for the second. But when Lorcan darted upstairs to see handprints of blood all over the nursery, everything around him froze for a second. The worst fears dance freely in his mind. He didn't even realize when he had started roaring. Or when all of the darkness possessed by him manifested. Drowning out all the light, making all the greenery wilt.
Lorcan felt firm hands holding onto him, trying to pick up the mess. "Let go of me", the male roared. But that wish wasn't granted to him as other sets of hands gripped his face. "I'm going to kill...", Lorcan stated. "Who will you kill? Who, Lorcan?", it was Gavriel who stood right in front of him. Paler than before. Worry laced his features as well. "You need to think", Fenrys added from the side of him, making Lorcan grit his teeth as he spat, "I'm thinking! She's gone, she's...and the baby, that's...", Lorcan felt another wave of panic rush through him. Fear when he realized that he couldn't hold onto the bond that connected you both.
"Breathe", it was Rowan, whose cold wind twirled around Lorcan now, the male trashed in the grip of his friends. "No, you don't...", Lorcan's voice broke. "Breath, Lorcan", Rowan said softly again. Lorcan knew that Rowan, of all the males, knew how painful this felt. He had lost his pregnant partner. They had all watched him fight the demons that clouded his will to live after that. Lorcan sank to his knees, ripping at his chest in hopes of feeling at least any sense of warmth from your side.
The cadre had never seen Lorcan like this. Sure, you had cracked the deepest parts of the male. You had made his presence a lot more bearable. Maker, he smiled even. Smiled from his heart during the family dinner. His prickly side was pushed aside almost fully. Saved only for scaring people away and inflicting panic on the enemy. You were his everything, and to miss that would have been impossible. Rowan clasped Lorcan's shoulders. Yet no one dared to say a single word about what this could truly mean.
You slowly drifted back to consciousness. Frowning slightly once the unfamiliar surroundings began to emerge. Your hand immediately went to your bump as you looked around the stone cell. The sound of the metal shackles made you look down; your hands and ankles were chained. You instantly tried to pull on your mating bond. To call for Lorcan... But a pained cry left your mouth as you found it lifeless. No, you thought to yourself, they wouldn't have managed to kill Lorcan.
"Oh, how lovely to see you awake", the voice dripped venom, and your wild eyes looked at the queen you hoped you'd never have to see again. "What did you do?", You moved to sit up slowly. "I just wanted to see you. You have someone I want", the way she whispered made your body shiver. "What did you do to Lorcan, Maeve", you hissed, hands wrapped around your bump. The motherly instinct was on high alert. The queen smirked, "He used to be my best. You do know what an attentive lover in bed Lorcan was to me". You shook your head. You knew how she treated them all. How she played with them. She twisted her powers to make puppets out of them. Lorcan had never loved her. He had never cared for her.
"It was so hard for me to do this to him", Maeve purred. The panic swirled within you. She wouldn't; you told yourself, she wouldn't have. "I'll make sure the wound of losing him will heal", her voice pierced right through you. "No," you breathed out, "He's not dead. You're lying, bitch". The sympathetic look on her face made you sick. "No, what did you do? What did you do?", you launched forward, chains ringing as you pulled at them. "Now, now... You can't be doing all that. You're pregnant", the queen stepped forward. Her cold hand moved to touch the round swell forming. You tried to move your hands so you could claw at her face, but her magic kept you at bay. "The babe growing within you is like no other, dear", she said, slowly sweeping your tangled hair away from your face. Silent tears that rolled down your cheeks were the only indication of your real emotions that bubbled within. "I'll raise a one-of-a-kind worrier out of that, babe", her nails dug into your face, "You took Lorcan away from me; now your debts will be paid." You tried to scream, but she seized your consciousness, sending you into the dark, oblivious.
Every moment that passed was a moment too long for Lorcan. A heartbeat was wasted. He still didn't know if you were alive. He hoped for it. You had to. Rowan had explained the power that Maeve had when it came to twisting bonds between mates. Maeve. To think that his beautiful, sweet, pregnant wife was in the hands of that sadist. Lorcan knew that you could stand your ground, but he knew that Maeve would not hold back.
He let Gavriel and Rowan plot the plan. His brain was everywhere at the moment. Lorcan clutched the baby blanket you had knitted in his hand. He had been holding onto it for the past two weeks. Only managing to slip into restless sleep if the scent of you was close. "Do you agree, Lorcan?", Gavriel's voice made Lorcan stiffen. But the lion knew that he wasn't listening. "Let us handle Maeve. I know that you want to kill her", Gavriel's voice was calm, but Lorcan let out a bitter laugh, "Want? Want doesn't even come close to it". The lion nodded. "I know, we know, but it's best if you find Y/N in the castle and get the hell away from it". As sweet as revenge tasted, Lorcan knew that this plan was the only one. Because even he didn't trust himself to not get carried away.
You had no way to tell how many days had passed. You had tried to refuse all food and water, but your baby needed it. And as much as you had no will to carry on, the little kicks and squirms within you were the only things making you feel anything other than the void that painted your chest black. You were curled into a ball at the furthest corner of the cell. Holding onto your bump as you hummed slightly.
You hoped the rest of the family would come looking for you. You hoped that this void was just one of many twisted things that Maeve loved. But at this moment, you knew that it was only you. Only you could protect your unborn child from that sadist. She had told you all about it. How the baby would be hers. How she would take it under her wing and raise it as if it was her baby. You gritted your teeth.
The cell door cracked open. You stilled, gripping the metal plate you had filed against the stones, turning it into a somewhat makeshift weapon. You doubted it would be enough to kill her. But you were prepared to try anything by now. You counted the steps, bracing yourself for the blow.
Your hit, however, was met by a strong grip. You were ready to swing one more time as the warmth flooded your heart. "Y/N", you had never loved the sound of your name more than now. Your eyes met the familiar dark orbs. A breath hitched in your throat. Lorcan was standing right in front of you. Your mate was standing right in front of you. You couldn't help but let out a cry.
Lorcan's strong arms wrapped around you instantly. He wasn't expecting to find you here. He was about to turn around when his ears caught on to that familiar heartbeat. Your baby's heartbeat. Steady and strong. And so he leaped down the stairs into the dungeon. Only to find you in this damp, forgotten place.
"Look at me, does anything hurt?", his voice was sharp and calculated. Lorcan looked over your face at the scab on your cheek, yet you shook your head. "She told me...", you muttered. "Listen to me. Is the baby okay? You're feeling okay?", he was close to shaking; you had been dead in his mind for weeks now. He had mentally prepared to find your lifeless body. "Lorcan...", you choked out, sinking into his arms.
"I've got you, dove. I'll take you home. I will never let anyone take you or our baby away from me", he wasn't sure at this point if he was saying this to soothe you or himself more. You barely nodded as Lorcan leaned to scoop you up into his arms. You heard him mutter something else, something about staying awake, but your body was too tired. Your mind was too fried from all the lies that Maeve had told you. So you let yourself drift away.
The crackling sound of the fire woke you up. The room was dim, but in a comfortable way. It was warm, and it smelled of freshly made food. You blinked a couple of times. Your gaze followed the pressure on your thigh. A messy set of black hair met you. Lorcan was holding your hand, his head resting on your thigh as he slept, his free palm resting on your round stomach. You doubted the position was comfortable, and his shoulders, without doubt, would kill him once he woke up.
You reached down to brush his hair away from his face. You smothered the lively bond in your chest. Soaking in the warmth of it. "You have no idea how nice it is to feel you through the bond", Lorcan's voice was groggy, his eyes still closed. You gave him a sad smile, "I'm afraid I do... She told me that she killed you", you muttered. Lorcan rose slowly. His face looked grim. There was a sign of anger still there.
"I'm going to take my time when I...", Lorcan growled but you quickly clasped his hand, "Lorcan... promise me you won't go after her alone", you pleaded. You could tell that he wanted to argue back but his shoulders slumped as he let out a sigh. "How are feeling? The healer looked you over but... You can...", he broke out into yet another rant, and you reached out to him, cupping his cheek, "I'm okay, we're okay. Happy to have daddy back with us", you muttered, feeling your eyes filling up with tears.
Lorcan leaned into your touch before he clasped your hand in his, kissing it a couple of times. "I would raise armies for you and fight gods if I had to", he said, and you knew he meant all of it as he leaned closer, pressing his forehead against yours. "And I will always find you, both of you. I'll look till my very last breath", Lorcan's voice was barely a whisper as tears rolled down his cheeks. "I know, my love, I'd fight for our family with bare hands if I had to", you muttered, leaning into your mate so you could kiss him lovingly.

protective jealous lorcan x reader where reader is part of the cadre and is flirting with someone else,, maybe he insults her or something and lorc steps in fhidsnfikdf feel free to take this wherever you want lol
Maybe I deserved it
Lorcan didn't know, he couldn't tell when he had grown so protective of you. He had seen your potential before anyone else did. He had watched you. Never dropping his gaze from your frame. The way it moved. The way you possessed your magic. The way to yield it to your call.
There was a gentleness about you. Something that none of the males that were a part of the cadre carried with them. At least not openly. Gavriel, maybe, was the sweetest of them all but even he possessed a lethal look. One that many feared. And no one dared to question. But your strength came with tenderness. The softness that wrapped around everyone who came close to you.
Lorcan knew there was something special about you. Something that drew him closer to you the day the three of them came back home to you making dinner in the kitchen. It didn't seem to take anyone else aback. But Lorcan. Lorcan couldn't move. At the moment you handed him a bowl with warm soup, something within him snapped. Something that will never be the same. Something that changed him as a male. That brought his worst fear to life. He pushed his chair back quickly. Knocking the ball over as he stood and walked away. You called after him but he didn't listen. His heart was beating against his chest too loudly.
Everything changed after that night. You had no clue what you had done wrong. Neither Gavriel nor Rowan were much help when you ask them. You tried to approach Lorcan but every time you did you get dismissed. Or he just walked right past you. He refused to train with you. He refused to go on missions with you. He barely ate in the same room as you did. No longer come to your room to read or simply share a drink. It's as if you had died to him.
Your chest ached. There was always something about him. Different. People feared him but not you. Yes, he was deadly. Maybe he was death himself. But all you saw was someone desperate to be loved. Someone you knew you could love. But you quickly realized that Lorcan was a male who didn't care for such things. And now with him ignoring you. With him not even glancing your way. You knew that you had to kill out the last flame that burned within your chest. Sacrifice the longing for a happy ending. Because the happy ending you wish for clearly didn't include him.
That's how you found yourself in one of the taverns. Tight leather clothes exchanged for a flowing dress. Twirling as males spun you around in the middle of a dance floor. You were intoxicated, yes. But the last couple of weeks have been torturous. You needed an escape. Even if it was hard to find one in the city. But you were desperate for it. Clawing for it. Ready to settle for crumbs. Twisting the golden curls of a male in front of you.
Lorcan saw red as he watched you. His drink abandoned for a long while now. The only reminder of it was the way glass pressed against his palm. Even Gavriel, who usually kept away from commenting on things like this growled next to Lorcan. The whole cadre was protective of you. To them, you were a family. A sister. They protected you no matter what. The fact that all of them sensed danger pleased Lorcan's worries too.
You were spinning around one moment the next sharp hand took hold of your hair, yanking you to the side. You let out a shriek. Way too intoxicated to catch the attack before it happened. "Fea whore", the voice snarled, "what more are you good for than to be bedded". The male shoved your body against the wall. The impact made you let out a painful exhale. Your hands fumbled to reach for the dagger strapped to your thigh.
"You little whore...", yet the last word the male spoke sounded more like a gasp. And when you opened your eyes a dark black shadow was wrapped around his throat. Choking out the air and keeping any sound at bay.
"I dare you to say it to my face", a low voice appeared, making you quickly jerk your head to the side. Lorcan's eyes were pitch black as he stared at the male in front of him. You felt arms reaching for you, flinching slightly. Only to let out a breath of relief when you sensed Fenrys. The male clawed at the invisible rope. "Say it", Lorcan dared, loosening his magic around the male's throat, "Loud and clear so everyone could hear". It was a dare. One no one who knew what power Lorcan held would dare to say.
The male shook his head and Lorcan chuckled, "What a pity. Shat your pant's already?". Lorcan turned his back towards the man taking a couple of steps back. The male's shoulders sacked with relief. But before he could take another full breath a dagger ripped through his flesh. Gasps erupted. People fled the taverna. All curiosity gone.
You watched the blood coating the floor. You've seen death plenty of times but this... A tight grip on your upper arm brought you back to reality. Lorcan was dragging you towards the door. "Lorcan", it was Gavriel who growled in warning. Yet none of the males followed. "That was...", you started but Lorcan cut you off, "He had no right to talk to you like that. You are a part of the cadre". You looked at him in disbelief, "My title. Your title doesn't give you a right to kill an innocent man". Lercan let out a loud growl, "Innocent? Do you know what was going through his head? Do you know what...", he stopped, taking a deep breath in. As if he was breathing fire.
"Maybe I...", you started but Lorcan quickly cut in, "Don't you dare finish that sentence". It was a warning. Maybe I deserved it. Those words even if unsaid skinned Lorcan alive. "You are the best thing that had crossed the gates of Doranelle. The only reason why the sun finally fells warm here. Why...", his voice died down. Lorcan never opened his heart to anyone. Not like this. All you could do was gape at hum. His face twitched. "If anyone deserved anything in there, it was that bastard. Not you", with those last words Lorcan turned away from you. Striding for the woods in speed you could never match.

sneaky linking with lorcan, but they have to keep it a secret so seeing him with other girls makes resder jealous👀
I started KoA and God save my soul... these males have a chokehold on me. I'll never be the same.
This side of me
Your head fell back as you chased the last bits of your orgasm. Rocking your hips while straddling Lorcan. His big rough palms squeezed your ass as he too growled. He was rarely audible in the bedroom. The first couple of months all you heard was yourself crying out in pleasure. If you were lucky one two praises from Lorcan but that's pretty much where it would end. Now more often than not he allowed himself to fully enjoy whatever that you two had going on.
The relationship was messy. If you could even call it a relationship. Your two had been at each other's throats before you had even joined the cadre. Shit only went worse when you did. Lorcan had a big ego. That meant that losing in training to you was as equivalent to someone pulling his pants off and laughed at him. Maybe even worse. He never wanted to listen. There was one way - his way that things could go. And while boys most of the time just let him go, you called him out on his bullshit.
That's when the tension thickened. Soon you two were practically snarling at one another, thangs out. Knifes pointed. "I bet on my monthly pay, they'll be fucking before the first snow falls", Fenrys chuckled, followed by the two men who stood beside him. "I double that and say that Lorcan will bite her first", Rowan added, a smug smile on his face as he drank water from his pouch. "Our princess will slip up first", Gavriel chuckled.
Just their gossiping was cut short as dagger penetrated the wall they stood against and they found your attention turned to them now, snarling Lorcan long forgotten. "I'll eat your flesh for tomorrow's supper", you threatened them. You knew your words didn't scare him. If anything your reaction fueled the fire but maker were you frustrated? "Hormonal much?", Fenrys chirped but you quickly moved to run towards him, making the white wolf let out a shriek as he took off himself. Gavriel and Rowan laughing even louder now.
"Fuck", Lorcan growled as your hips stilled, way smaller body collapsing on his chest. This was against the rules but he moved to wrap an arm around your naked frame. "So much for a secret when you scream so much", he teased, making you pinch the skin on his side, "As if you weren't roaring yourself", you quickly turned your head to the side, "Do I even have window still". Lorcan rolled his eyes but let himself close his eyes, taking in a couple of steady breaths. He had told himself that he was never going to fall in love. Relationships weren't his thing... but there was a but now. He simply couldn't ignore the weight of your body in his arms. And as much as he wanted to lie about it, his arms felt empty throughout the day when you weren't in his embrace.
You were sat by the side table at the tavern you all had stopped mid-task. Lorcan had been on the next round of drink duty but for the past ten minutes, you had been watching him in a sea of females who had surrendered him by now. "What did this poor table do to you?", Fenry's voice pierced your head making you blink a couple of times as you looked down. Your claws were in full display. Leaving sharp deep lines on the surface.
A tinge of jealousy ran through you. Sure, he owed you nothing. You two messed around for most time but... "You know that he is an attention whore. This means nothing", Gavriel said softly but you only scoffed, "Why would I care? He can fuck them all if he wants". You stood up quickly. You thought about just going up there and ordering everybody a new drink but midway towards the bar you halted and moved towards the door. You needed to clear your head. You needed fresh air. This place. Lorcan. Everything was slowly suffocating you.
"Where are you going?", the voice made you stop, "Our room isn't even towards that side", it continued. You turned around quickly, "Oh, sorry. Thought you wanted to bring a handful of bitches with you", you sassed. Lorcan smirked, "You're jealous, huh", he purred. You narrowed your eyes at him, "Fuck yourself. I might just find someone for myself too", you spat.
But before you could take another step, Lorcan was in front of you, hand around you through. Just so he would keep your eyes on him, "No one is touching you", he growled. "Hypocrite. You just had...", you started but Lorcan tightened his grip on your throat, "No one else gets to see sides of me that you do", he said through gritted teeth, "Now get your cute ass back inside, before I slither the whole taverna", his finger moved over your lip and before he could say anything world you leaped forward. Crashing your lips onto his.

I just can't get the idea of Lorcan with a soft wife. Like she gardens and bakes and nobody understands how the dynamic works so well but it just does
Sweet peas
Well, don't they say that opposites attract? Sounds cliché but in all reality, it's just how it is. It's so obvious looking at the two of you that nature requires balance.
Lorcan is the embodiment of dark, lethal power. He's someone who people don't even dare to take a second glance at. Lowering their heads. Moving further away from the streets. Praying to the gods they believe in hopes that they would save them if Lorcan appeared on their doorstep. Especially when he's the god of death himself.
So to say that people gasped with fear when they saw you standing so close to him the first couple of times would be an understatement. "What a poor beautiful girl, hope the death is quick", "What could have she possibly done to upset him", and "What a cruel way to go, for such a delicate creature".
Just the funny thing is that it's quite the opposite. It's Lorcan who has been captivated by you. Trailing by you like a true dark shadow. And it's as if he finally understood what it's like to feel the warmth that radiates from the sky. How pleasant the summer breeze can be. That chirping bird wasn't all that annoying. And all of that is because of you.
The first time you met he was rushing back home. Annoyed over the fact that the whole day was shit. Cutting corners so that he would return to the comfort of his home as soon as possible. In all of his anger, he didn't notice the patch of only springing flowers, his big boots stomping on them. The gasp that echoed behind him made him jerk back.
And there you were. Two braids falling over your chest, a light green dress with puffy sleeves, and a dirty airport that you without a doubt used to wipe your hands at. At first, he thought that the gasp was the usual reaction to you simply seeing him. That's how everyone always reacted. But no.
You weren't looking at him. Eyes fixed on the crushed stems beneath Lorcan's feet. His own eyes darted down. "My sweet peas...", you stepped closer, pushing at Lorcan's chest as if he wasn't the biggest predator in town. "No, no...", you muttered, kneeling, gently trying to pull any of the potential survivors up. And it felt as if that dead flower was exactly how Lorcan's heartfelt now watching you. The way your soft fingers touched the still-closed petals that will never get to bloom.
"I...", Lorcan starts but you're shaking your head, picking up your watering jug as you pierce him with what Lorcan assumed was your angry face but he could tell that it wasn't a usual emotion you portrayed.
But he can't stop thinking about those sweet peas. All evening. All night. All morning. And he's so grumpy. So unimaginably grumpy because why the hell is he thinking about some flowers? And the teasing from the boys doesn't help because when he finally snaps and says, "I don't know where to get sweet peas that are in bloom, okay?!", the whole room dies down. Fenrys throws Gavriel a look and the older male silently forbids the pup from commenting. Rowan has one eyebrow raised. It's Aelin who clocks onto what's going on. She knows you. Had seen you last evening, and listened to how upset you were that your favorite flowers got stomped on by some sulking brood. "I know where to and plenty of them", she says softly and Lorcan's hopeful eyes meet hers.
It's not long after that he's knocking on your cottage door. Hands firmly holding six pots with sweet peas in different colors. The sugary smell twirls all around Lorcan and it hits him that they almost smell like you. The door cracks open and here you are. Once again right in front of him and he's so starstruck that he forgets how to speak for a moment. Then he just pushes the pots closer to you, "Bought you what I destroyed". You tried to scold him with your eyes but Lorcan could see the happy softness there. "Want to help me replant them?", you asked softly and that was his last undoing. Shrugging off his jacket, Lorcan pushed the sleeves of his shirt over his elbows. Getting ready for the best day of his life that opened the door to happily ever after.

For Lorcan requests, how about girl dad Lorcan helping his mate with an overtired screaming baby? Please :)
Baby girl
Was Lorcan a step away from murdering everyone who had even the slightest input into this whole thing? Anyone who thought that it was okay to separate him from his mate and his baby? Weeks after she was born. Weeks after you had nearly died bringing her into this world. Oh, yes, yes he was. And he was hoping that the broken nose Aedion was holding onto proved his point just fine.
Yes, you reassured him that you would be fine. That nothing was going to happen. You had a handful of badass women beside you. And Fenrys was staying at home. Even if that boy was exactly that - a boy, compared to Lorcan. It still eased Lorcan's worries knowing that someone from the cadre would be there just in case. But it still didn't make it right because you needed him and he knew that.
And his mind just kept on going and going. Imagining you struggling to get out of bed. Whining in pain. What if the bleeding intensified again because you were moving too much? What if you fainted? What if your body would wear out to the point where you could no longer feed Linnette? His little Linny. What was he doing here? Thousands of miles away from home.
And that's how it went. Worry eating at him for the three days he's been away. Clouding his judgment. Digging at his temper. No longer did your soft caresses against the bond soothe him. No, they worried Lorcan more because he felt it. No matter how hard you tried to hide it. Lorcan knew. You were tired. Both mentally and physically. He felt every sharp paint that shot through your body. Gods, at times the same tears that ran down your cheeks dampened his own.
He put an end to it. Hence the broken nose. The scar on Rowan's hand. Lorcan left them all behind. This was torture. And gods may damn him but you were the priority in his books. Everything else could go to shit for all Lorcan cared.
Lorcan could hear the cries from outside the door leading to your house. The lights were on on the second floor, meaning you were most definitely rocking Linny to sleep. Trying to at least. And the sound broke Lorcan's heart. Because the cries were desperate. As if she was crying out for him to come home. To soothe both her mommy and her. A cry for daddy to come home. Because he was needed. Because for once in his life Lorcan didn't bring distractions he mended.
Lorcan sends swirls of his darkness upstairs before climbing to the stairs quickly. He knows that you most definitely didn't feel his presence approaching. And he doesn't want to scare you by marching through the door so it's a quick way for him to kill any alarming worries that might swirl in your head at the sound of someone climbing the stairs.
And he hates the sight in front of him because you're even more a shell of a living creature than when he had left you. Dark circles beneath your eyes. Eyes bloodshot. Hair all tangled up and Lorcan is sure that the last time you brushed it was the day he left. Sick on your shirt. The baby screeches again and Lorcan skips the distance between you.
His hands instantly reach for the babe. Linny still pretty much fits in one of his palms. Lorcan's hand easily covers her whole back. Her big dark eyes are glossy with tears as she cries wiggling her tiny limbs until Lorcan catches her tiny fist letting her wrap her tiny fist around his pinky. "I've got you, my little hummingbird. Daddy is here to make it all better", he says softly and the cries subside almost immediately. You let out a choked-out sob yourself and Lorcan instantly moves to bring you closer to his chest. Both of his girls weeping in his arms now. And there's absolutely nothing that he hates more now.
"I'm sorry. I'm such a failure...", you muffle through the tears and Linny picks up her cries once more. "You're not. You're tired", Lorcan says, trying to stay as calm as possible, "I should apologize for leaving you when you need me the most". You want to argue back. That you understand his responsibility and all but you can tell from the look in his eyes that your words would only do more damage.
"Did you feed her already?", you shake your head, "She just got so flustered, she...", eyes filling up with tears again. Babies felt the emotion of others way more and way stronger. Linny was hurting alongside you. Lorcan quickly guided you to the bedroom. Carefully lowering fussing Linny on the bed before cupping your face for a quick kiss. He sat on the bed first, reaching out a hand to Linny so she would feel her dad near before padding a space between his legs. Motioning for you to sit there.
"It won't help, Lorcan. I'm not sure I can even feed her", you argue instantly yet Lorcan simply asks, "Do you trust me?". And of course, you do. With all that you have so, you follow his lead. Your back comes in contact with his warm strong chest and your body instantly relaxes. Lorcan quickly unbuttons the shirt that you have on with one hand, and you host up Linny closer to your chest. Dreading the moment her sobs would fill the room.
Lorcan moves his arm under yours, supporting the weight of your daughter there. His other hand carefully rubs your thigh. Slowly. Soothingly. Linny grumbles some more before latching onto your breast. Eager sounds of sucking fill the room as her tinny palm presses against your chest for support. You let your head fall on Lorcan's shoulder. Silent tears fall down your cheeks. Lorcan turns his head slightly. Kissing your temple and cheek a couple of times.
"Good job mama. Breathe now", he says softly, and you nuzzle into him, "It's all your doing, love", you state, knowing that the night would have gone completely different if he hadn't returned, "You're tired so I won't argue with you, dove, but you know what I think". Linny lets out a delighted sigh and you two instantly look down at her. Tears still sticking to her wet lashes, making them look even darker, her cheeks still slightly pink still from all the crying.
"She looks bigger already", Lorcan says, before running his finger over her cheek which had started to fill out with baby fat, making it more chubby. "She is... and looking around way more", Lorcan hums at your words. "How about we finish up here and I run you a bath? I'll take her while you unwind slightly", he's quick to suggest and you frown instantly, "You're tired Lor...", but he cuts you off instantly, "And you're still bleeding and may I state way more tired. It's the least I could do". You look up at his desperate eyes. Eyes that without a doubt carry guilt because of all of this. So you nod your head, knowing that the warm water might soothe the ache in your body. "Cuddles after?", you ask him before Lorcan moves slightly so he could bring you even closer to him, "I'm not letting go of you two any time soon, dove", he promises with a quick kiss to your forehead.

DANG IT I just thought of braiding lorcan’s hair. I can’t even braid…
Now I just couldn't resist myself...
"Sit back down", you tapped onto your lover's back. You two had been going through some paperwork together for the majority of the day, cooped up in your tiny office.
"What?", your mate shot you a confused look. Standing still between the chair and the table, "Sit, sit", you tapped onto his back once more. Silently motioning for him to fall back into the chair where he had been sitting for hours already. Lorcan let out a muffled growl. Of course, he'll obey you. Maker damn him if he did not. His body listened to you. Not in a forceful way. Lorcan just loved seeing you happy. Nothing made him more content than sensing that sweet smell of happiness lingering on your skin. Happiness brought by him.
"Weren't we supposed to go eat dinner?", the lord questioned, folding his arms over his chest. "Yes", you trailed off, "We will. Once I'm done". Now he didn't even need to see your face, he could tell that you were smirking. Happily smirking to yourself as you pulled up another chair, to use as a step-stool because even with the fae worrier sitting down, you barely reached the top of his head.
An excited shriek left your lips as your fingers pushed through the dark roots of his hair. Lorcan himself let out a satisfied sigh. Nothing took the toll of the day from his shoulders faster than your nimble fingers brushing through his hair. Long gone was the ever-cold-faced male, the cunning man. He knew the rest of the cadre would tease him for an entirety if they saw him in such state. Beast turned into a tiny purring kitten. Lorcan shook his head at that thought.
"Hey, no moving around", you whined quickly, pulling just a bit tighter on his black hair. "Inform me, love, what are you doing?", for some reason Lorcan had a feeling that he didn't want to know. "What do you think I'm doing, silly? I'm braiding your hair", you said happily. Lorcan pinched the bridge of his nose. A sigh left his lips. "Oh, don't you start brooding. When I'm done with you, you'll be the prettiest male in Terrasen", you chirped, "Why do I not wish to hold that title?", the male grumbled. Yet did nothing to move away. He could easily just stand up, brush your fingers away and go. But he staid put and that in itself made the biggest smile appear on your face.
"If only I had daisies to put in between the braids...", you whispered mostly to yourself as you wrap the onyx braids around the back of his head. "You are in a mood to make a fool out of me", he cuts into the train of thoughts, "The prettiest male, Lorcan, the prettiest male". He shook his head slightly, careful as to not mess up the braids too much, "If our enemies saw me now..." You let out a laugh. It was such an honest and joyful laugh that even Lorcan's lips curved upwards slightly. "Never let them know your next move. Isn't that what they say?", you giggled to yourself, "You show up with flowers in your hair and they might think that you've gone soft but then you butcher them with your dark magic". Lorcan's arm reached behind him, carefully pulling you upfront. To his surprise, you obeyed his silent request. Settling onto your mate's lap as you admired the two braids and how they framed his face. Reaching out to smooth the tiny strand of hair that had fallen loose over his face. "Happy?", Lorcan asked admiring your satisfied expression. You knew that he didn't need to ask to know. He could sense it. You nodded your head anyway, cupping the side of his face lovingly. "Still think flowers would have made a big difference", you mumbled quietly, biting your lip. Lorcan just shook his head, "You'll be the death of me, woman".
Leaning closer he gently placed a loving kiss on your face, which you were quick to return. "Your friends will be the death of you once you go down to eat dinner like this", you purred against his lips, quickly shimmying out of his grip and darting towards the door. Yet Lercan was quick to lock the door with his magic. And once you turned to face him once more he was stood towering over you, "Not so quick, little vixen. Two can play this game".
