Bite Me

pairing: Rowaelin x Reader
word count: 1.3k
warnings: vampire stuff. gets a little steamy when Rowan takes a chomp
a/n: and now i’ve introduced TOG to my repertoire, i’m so excited. written for day 4 of @polysjmweek
You hadn’t known what they were at first.
Rowan had found you in the woods, drenched in rain and trembling from the cold, your ankle twisted from a misstep on the rocks. You’d told him to fuck off when he approached, all of your instincts screaming predator. With his unnaturally silver hair and massive shoulders, but he only smirked and carried you in those strong, unyielding arms like you weighed nothing.
He’d taken you to his house, promising sanctuary from whoever you had been running from in those woods. That’s when Aelin appeared with her long golden hair and striking eyes. When she first looked at you, you thought you might combust from her unworldly beauty.
What was only supposed to be a few days of you harboring away in their house turned to months, and then years. Somewhere along the way, love grew between the three of you like a fire. Starting off as a tinder until it burned into a bright, hot flame.
They never told you outright, but the clues had stacked. Their nightly wanderings. The way they could see and hear so much better than you. The hushed whispers you heard when they thought you slept.
And then, one night Rowan returned injured. Blood soaked his tunic, his skin torn and revealing a gaping wound. Aelin was frantic, pacing, snapping at him, her hands trembling as she tried to help.
Your voice broke through their storm, your offer soft but certain. “Drink from me.”
Aelin had frozen. Rowan’s jaw clenched.
“You don’t understand what you’re offering,” he growled.
“I do,” you whispered. “Let me help you.”
He looked to Aelin, and at her hesitant nod, he stepped forward. His eyes burned with hunger and worry. When he leaned in, his breath tickled your neck. Warm and intimate.
“Tell me to stop,” he said.
You didn’t.
His fangs sank in slowly, deliberately. Pain sparked, sharp and fleeting, then heat bloomed like wildfire in your veins. A shudder wracked your body, your fingers digging into his shoulders as his mouth moved against your skin, his tongue teasing at the bite. It was electric and intoxicating. The way his body pressed to yours, the low, hungry sound in his throat.
When his fangs released you, Rowan moved to kiss your collarbone, his lips brushing reverently before they parted. When his teeth pierced your skin again on the other side of your neck, a moan escaped you. His hands around your waist tightened, grounding you.
With his arms around you, his lips at your throat, and his heart beating in perfect time with yours, you thought you might die from ecstasy.
But then he pulled away, one hand moving to cup your jaw, forcing your gaze to meet his. You understood why once he did it, you were dizzy, the world spinning around you as you nearly lost your balance.
“Easy,” he murmured.
He ushered you to the seat Aelin had pulled out, guiding you to sit down and your hands gripped the armrests.
Aelin rushed over with a glass of juice and a pack of cookies, placing them on your lap and the glass in your hands. “Here, it’ll help you feel better.”
You drank the juice greedily, your swallowing audible until you finished the glass. You picked up a cookie and took a bite, humming as the flavor reached your tongue. Chocolate chip. Simple. Delectable.
Rowan crouched down in front of you, resting his large hands on your knees. “How do you feel?”
“Good,” you mumbled around the cookie in your mouth. You raised your hand to cover it, remembering your manners, and Aelin laughed.
“I think she’ll live, buzzard.”
He glared at her over his shoulder before returning his gaze to you. “I suppose we should talk about this…new development.”
A quick glance at his chest, where there was once a cut as wide as two of your fingers, told you that you were right. He was healed. By your blood.
You placed the pack of cookies on the table next to you. “What’s there to talk about?”
Aelin and Rowan glanced at each other. “Does blood loss usually cause memory loss too?” Aelin whispered.
“I don’t believe so,” he whispered back.
“I can hear you, you know,” you grouched.
Their heads whipped back to you. “I know what you are. It’s okay,” you said.
Aelin approached slowly from behind Rowan, resting her hands on his shoulders as she tilted her head at you. “What are we?”
You swallowed. “Vampires. You’re vampires.”
Rowan just watched you with that ice-cold face of his, his jaw ticking.
Aelin smiled, showing her fangs. “I told you she was smart, our little human.”
After that night, they had been more open with you. Telling you they were going out to feed instead of making up some excuse for why one of them needed to leave the house as soon as the sun went down. Aelin had fed from you eventually, but neither of them liked to do it often. They worried about how it made you feel, what it could do to their fragile human. They plan to keep you around as long as possible, Aelin had told you.
Tonight was one of the rare nights you went out with them. You felt bad that someone always had to stay home hungry with you until it was their turn to hunt, so you offered to go out to a tavern where they could more quickly change shifts from watching over you to finding their meal.
The tavern was loud and smoky, lit with the golden flicker of torchlight and filled with the scent of spiced wine and woodsmoke. You’d only stepped away from your booth for a moment—to get more drinks for Aelin and Rowan, who lounged like predators watching the room from the shadows. Their eyes never left you, not even to scour for their next victim.
A man at the bar leaned in close before you could even speak to the barkeep. Too close. His smile was cocky, his eyes raking over you like you were prey.
“You here alone, sweetheart?” he asked.
You took a step back. “Not at all.”
“Don’t see anyone beside you.” His gaze dropped to your throat. “Pretty mark you’ve got there. Someone bite too hard, or were you begging for it?”
Before you could reply, Rowan was there.
His hand was a vice on the man’s shoulder. “That mark,” Rowan said, voice low and deadly, “is mine.”
The man started to stammer but froze when Aelin slid in from the other side.
She didn’t speak at first, just tilted her head, golden hair falling over one shoulder. “Do you want to know what I do to men who talk to our girl like that?”
The man stammered again, trying to tug free from Rowan’s iron grip.
“I could remove his tongue,” Aelin said thoughtfully, examining her nails. “Or maybe you want to do it, buzzard?”
Rowan’s smile was all teeth. “Tempting.”
Your hand touched his arm, the tension in his muscles vibrating under your palm.
“Enough,” you murmured. “He’s not worth it.”
They didn’t take their eyes off him as he fled, nearly tripping over his own feet.
Aelin turned to you first, her fingers brushing the side of your face, gentle now. “He shouldn’t have looked at you like that.”
“He didn’t touch me,” you whispered.
“He thought about it,” Rowan said, pulling you into his chest.
“And thinking about touching what’s ours is enough,” Aelin purred, kissing your neck right beside the old mark, tongue brushing over the scar.
You shivered.
Rowan leaned in, breath hot on your skin. “You’re ours, little bird. No one else’s.”
And later that night, when you all returned to the house after Aelin cornered that sleazy man in the alley behind the tavern, their hands roamed over you. Their tongues teased and licked, and then their fangs sank into your neck—together this time.
Not to feed, but to brand.

I’ll Always Have You
Rowaelin x reader
Warnings: tattoo needle
Sitting on the padded table I anxiously shift around. My thigh bouncing involuntarily as I wait for Rowan. Aelin gives my hand a gentle, reassuring squeeze.
Looking at her calm face I feel the anxiety in my stomach loosen.
“Don’t be scared,” Aelin murmurs. “The needle only hurts at first, then you get used to it.” I let out a long sigh, releasing my nerves. But the longer Rowan takes the more I think about having a needle repeatedly poked into my skin.
Rowan finally returns, ink and needle in hand, an excited look on his face. He sets everything down on a side table, laying out the sketch of your tattoo.
Rowan doesn’t talk about his artistic abilities much. He gets very shy when Aelin and I bring it up, which is very cute. The big fae warrior getting all blushy because of compliments from his mates.
Staring at the sketch again I smile. It’s a physical reminder of the love I share with my mates created by Rowan with all the thought and love in the world.
Rowan gently grasps my chin, tilting my face to look at him. “You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to. We won’t be upset with you,” he says softly.
I shake my head. “I want to. I’m ready.” He softly kisses my forehead before instructing me to take my shirt off and get comfortable.
Aelin runs her nails against my scalp, pulling my hair forward and off my back. My shoulders jerk from the chills she gives me.
“Hey,” Rowan chastises her. “She can’t be moving so hands off.” I can see Aelin roll those stunning eyes of hers without looking. “Buzzard,” she mutters.
I sneakily link my pinky with hers, turning my head to give Aelin a smile. She leans down and lightly pecks my forehead before scolded again.
“Ok,” Rowan holds the needle ready with ink above the middle of my back, “If you need a break don’t be scared to tell me. And remember to breathe through the pain.” “Ok,” I respond, already taking calming breaths.
On the first prick of the needle my eyes started to water. I held my breath for a few more stabs until my body adjusted to the pain. Remembering Rowan’s instructions I start to breathe again, squeezing Aelin’s hand.
After two long hours Rowan set the needle down, wiping gently at my back. My accelerated healing already closing the small wounds across my skin.
Rowan presses a soft kiss to my shoulder. “You did amazing, love.”
I groan, pushing up on my elbows, careful not to aggravate my skin. “Thanks Ro,” I sit up, crossing my arms to cover my chest. Aelin quickly slips one of Rowan’s undershirts over my head.
“Can I see it?” Rowan nods excitedly. Leading us to the bathroom he turns my back to face the mirror above the sink while he holds another in front of me. Lifting my shirt my breath catches and tears line my eyes.
“Rowan,” I breathe out. My eyes widen in shock at the beautiful black ink decorating my back. “It’s beautiful.” Silver lines my eyes as I stare in awe.
A pair of wings spread across my shoulder blades, the feathers made up of the Old Language. Our story together. My story, my survival and strength, finding my path to my mates.
“You really like it?” He asks, a little timid. I look up at him, disbelief on my face at Rowan asking such a thing. “Of course I do.”
Pushing up on your toes, you wrap your arms tightly around his neck. Rowan hugs you back, careful to not aggravate your tattoo. “We love you, y/n. So much.”

Sleep little one
a/n;; Mostly Aelin x reader, but is a Rowaelin x reader fic.
Warnings;; None, just fluff.
She sits by the window watching the raindrops hit the glass.
A melody that calms her mind and soothes the ache in her heart.
She watches as people run to their houses to hide from the fury of the storm.
A thunder tears the world into two. But she never lifts the head from her lap, her hands hugging her knees as if she could remember those arms that had hugged her that morning.
The book she had been reading was forgotten on the floor, because the view from the window was more captivating than the words on the paper.
She heard someone opening the door and walked softly to her. A soft kiss was placed on her hair and two hands started massaging her shoulders.
She let a pleasure groan leave her mouth, those hands making her tense muscles relax.
“You should come to bed. You know, Rowan misses you and I miss you”
She looked at her mate and a soft smile appeared on her face. Aelin’s hair was tidied up into a messy bun and she was wearing one of Rowan’s shirts, in fact, she was wearing one too. The scent of her mate embracing her like a second skin. She had gotten used to stealing their clothes, mostly shirts and some pants.
She finally stood up from her seat at the window roll and Aelin hugged her by the waist. Her arms found a comfortable place on her shoulders and her hands played with the hair that was loose from the bun.
“I want something first” Aelin brought her face closer to her, both their noses touching.
“And… what is what you want, sweetheart?”
“You know exactly what I want”
Aelin rolled her eyes, not wanting to have a silly little fight with her mate, so she kissed her.
Softly. Lovingly. Just how she knew she liked when she was feeling tired and the only thing her mate wants are cuddles and kisses.
She broke the kiss and giggled when Aelin lifted her as if she weighed nothing, and just like that, they made their way to their bedroom.
Noticing them, Rowan opened the door with a cold breeze. Still carrying her, Aelin placed her in the middle of the bed, between her and Rowan. He turned so he was watching her. Eyes heavy with sleep but still, she was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.
Aelin got into the bed and placed an arm around her waist. She left a kiss on her cheek and Rowan kissed her lips.
By the time they finished getting ready to sleep, she was already sleeping peacefully and deeply, and Aelin was the next one to fall asleep.
So Rowan watched his mates sleep peacefully, knowing that he would fight anyone and anything for them.

Getting out of bed this morning was a struggle. It had been for weeks now, mornings consisting of you waking up with that all too familiar weight on your chest that threatened to pull you under. For weeks, all you wanted to do in the mornings was curl up under the covers and forget about the world around you.
The irony of it was things were going well – your lovers Aelin and Rowan ruled Terrasen, slowly healing the broken world they fought so hard to protect. Her court, which you presided in, was successfully rebuilding the realm piece by piece. It was hard work, but you loved it. You were in charge of overseeing Terrasen’s relations with the other countries of Erilea, which meant you got to speak to Dorian and Manon via letters, each of them ruling their respective kingdoms.
But like any job, it had its downsides. You were completely overworked, working from sunrise to well past sunset almost every day. You barely had time to see Rowan or Aelin, often missing most meals and holing yourself up in the study to work. Your lovers respected your space, giving you the time you needed to do your job, although sometimes you wished they wouldn’t.
Guilt gnawed at the pit of your stomach. Aelin had given up almost everything to save Erilea and Terrasen, surely you could manage your job which paled in comparison to all she had done. If Aelin could sacrifice her powers and save the world, surely you could manage your court job. But you couldn’t help it, the exhaustion that had you going through the motions of your day rather than truly living it and enjoying the peaceful new world. Sleep was elusive as of late, leaving you even more drained. And to wake up and face yet another mountainous workload…. it was not exactly enticing.
The words scripted on the letters in front of you began to blur, as they had on and off for the past few hours. You were so tired, so mentally drained…. not to mention the growing ache in your back from being hunched over a desk all day, or the pounding in your head from reading piles and piles of documents and transcriptions. It was well past dinnertime, the sun having set over the hills in the distance long ago. You shifted in your chair, if only you could just have a nap…
“Angel?” Came the sound of Aelin’s lilting voice from the other side of your door. You quickly straightened your back, brushing some papers to the side to create some illusion of organization.
“Come in.” You called. Aelin breezed through the door almost before you finished your sentence.
“Did you send the letter to Adarlan last week requesting the extra shipment of coal?” The blonde queen asked immediately. You couldn’t help but feel disappointed, finding yourself wishing that Aelin had just come to see you, not to discuss court business.
“I’m sure I did.” You replied, unable to keep the tenseness out of your voice. Aelin cocked her head, annoyance blazing in her turquoise gold eyes.
“Really?” She said sharply. “Because if you did, it should have been here by now surely, right? We need that extra coal, bad.”
“Alright, alright,” You snapped, patience running thin. “I’ll double check my logs, okay?”
Aelin merely exhaled through her nose, turning her head to the side away from you. Annoyance seeped through your veins at the action – every time you had seen your girlfriend for the past few weeks it was always about court matters, so formal and business-like that if someone overheard any of your interactions, they’d have no clue about your relationship. You couldn’t entirely blame Aelin though, almost unable to imagine how much stress she must be under as well. Sure, winning the war was arguably the most difficult part, but running a country required a different strength, one that she was still adjusting to.
You fumbled for your record book, which detailed all the communications between you and the representatives of the other countries and groups. After flipping through some pages, you reached the section you were looking for, and your heart dropped when you noticed the unsent letter addressed to Adarlan still stuck to the page.
You forgot to send it.
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” Aelin muttered, beginning to pace back and forth.
“I’m so sorry,” You stammered, throat closing up with shame. “I swear I thought I had sent it-”
“Well, you didn’t.” Aelin interrupted, voice raising. “And now we don’t have enough fucking coal to run the all forges in Perranth.”
“I’m sorry.” Your voice was barely above a whisper.
“‘Sorry’ doesn’t make a shipment appear out of thin air!”
You were too exhausted to fight. Normally you would have yelled back, pointed out to your girlfriend that the reason you forgot to send it was because she kept giving you issue after issue to deal with and prioritize. But you couldn’t even bring yourself to look at the pissed off queen. You felt empty, like a husk of a person, just waiting for the interaction to be over so you could go back inside your own head, even though you hated being there.
“I’m sorry I let you down, your majesty.” Was all you managed to say as you brushed past Aelin and walked out of the room, leaving her in your study. You made your way up the stairs to your room, which was across from Rowan and Aelin’s.
Sometimes you wished you could share their room, truly be a part of their everyday lives. Sure, you stayed over there many times, but always had to leave before the king and queen woke up. They were married, after all, and your relationship with them was a secret to everyone except for Aedion, Lysandra, and Fenrys. It hurt sometimes, stinging like a thorn you couldn’t get rid of, but logically you knew that after everything it had been through Terrasen needed a traditional, stable rule. And that didn’t involve a third partner to the King and Queen.
Finally, once you closed your door, you allowed your head to hit your pillow and soak up your tears as you wept. You wept over your exhaustion, how much of a failure you felt like for letting Aelin down. You cried because you felt like you were losing her and Rowan, you cried over how selfish you were for feeling that way.
Hours passed, and your tears had finally dried up, leaving you numb. You didn’t feel much of anything anymore, just pure exhaustion that no amount of sleep could soothe. When the moonlight crept in through your window, you heard your door open. You were facing the other way, but your fae senses picked up snow and pine mingled with jasmine and embers.
Rowan and Aelin stepped through the door and approached your bed. You felt a shift in the bed as they sat down on the mattress, Rowan next to your back while Aelin took up residence behind your legs.
“Aelin wanted to come sooner,” The silver-haired male’s deep voice sounded from behind you. “But I figured you both need some time to cool down.”
You said nothing, swallowing the lump in your throat. All you had wanted these past few weeks was for your lovers to come see you, but now that they were here, you didn’t want them to see you like this. You knew they had both fallen in love with your spirit that Rowan had often compared to the raging waters of the sea. You knew they saw you as strong-willed and proud, determined and unbreaking. How could they have fallen in love with that version of you, yet still love this broken shell before them?
“I’m sorry, angel.” Aelin’s voice was soft, far from the anger that was laced through it a few hours ago. “I shouldn’t have snapped at you. You’re so busy all the time, it was an honest mistake. Really, we’ll figure something out. It’ll be ok, don’t even worry about it.”
You knew you should feel relieved, but you didn’t. Every part of you felt weighed down, your throat constricted like if you spoke you’d burst into tears again.
“Angel?” Rowan said after you didn’t respond. You felt a large hand stroke your hair a few moments later. That simple touch, filled with so much tenderness, was your undoing.
Sobs wracked your body once again, your mental exhaustion too fragile to handle anything. Wordlessly, two sets of hands gently grabbed you and pulled you upright and towards the headboard, nestling your body in between them. Aelin pulled you sideways into her chest, wrapping her arm around your waist and stroking your face with her other hand while Rowan rubbed gentle circles on your back. The King and Queen of Terrasen let you weep, sandwiched between their two powerful bodies. Their presence comforted you, slowly filling the hole in your chest that had been carving itself out in the past few weeks.
“I’m so tired.” You choked out between sobs.
“Have you not been sleeping?” Rowan asked, pressing a kiss to your shoulder.
“No, but that’s not what I mean,” You managed to get out. “I’m drained, Rowan. I’m so exhausted, I can’t do this anymore.”
You dared a glance up at Aelin, and saw sadness but understanding across her face. You knew the words hit differently for her, having overheard her conversation with Rowan in the days leading up to the final battle against Maev and Erawen.
“My moonlight,” Aelin murmured, pulling you closer. “My sweet moonlight. Why didn’t you come to us before? We could have helped you.”
“You guys are so busy ruling a goddamn kingdom,” You said. “I figured I could get through it on my own. I didn’t want to trouble you.”
“You could never trouble us, angel.” Rowan reassured, running a hand through your knotted hair. “We will always have time for you.”
“I could not care less if you bust down the door to my war council meetings and demand my attention just so you can hear me tell you how much I love you,” Aelin said fiercely. “I would drop everything for you in a heartbeat. We both would.”
Rowan murmured his agreement from behind you, reaching down and grabbing your hand.
“Besides, even if you did do that nobody could do anything to object.” The queen added. “Because then they’d have to deal with me, and nobody wants that.”
You laughed, the action foreign to your body as of late.
“Thank you,” You said quietly. “I missed you both lately.”
“I’m sorry we haven’t checked in on you,” Rowan said, his voice grave. “That was a mistake. I had no idea how much work you were juggling and how exhausting it must be. Writing letters and dealing with diplomats would make my head explode, I truly don’t know how you put up with it.”
“That is why I am in charge of it, and you are not.” You retorted, chuckling.
“Rowan would be horrible at your job.” Aelin snorted. “But it’s a lot to handle, even for someone as incredible as you. I can ask Aedion to assist you for the next few weeks, if that would make things easier.”
You breathed a sigh of relief. As much as you knew your exhaustion was from many other things as well, having the extra workload cut down would help tremendously.
“Thank you.” You murmured. “Thank you so much.”
The three of you stayed like that for a few more minutes, basking in each others presence until Rowan scooped you up in his arms. You wanted to whine at the loss of contact from Aelin, who also stood up.
“What are you doing?” You asked.
“Taking you to bed.” Rowan said, walking towards your door as Aelin opened it.
“Uh, my bed is back there, you doorknob. We were just in it.”
“That won’t be your bed anymore,” Aelin stated as the three of you exited the room and headed towards the entrance to the King and Queen’s chambers. “Because you’re moving to ours.”
Your heart skipped a beat. You had wanted this for so long, to share their space. You had been too afraid to ask though, for fear changing the living arrangements would screw up the dynamic you already had that you often thought was too good to be true.
“But everyone will know about us–” You began.
“Good.” Aelin interrupted. “I want to show you off as mine.”
Rowan coughed, and the blonde rolled her eyes.
“As ours.” She corrected herself before winking at you as she opened the grand doors to their chambers. You giggled, Rowan squeezing you slightly as he carried you into the luxurious space. A grand fireplace was burning across from the bed, which was large enough to fit five people you guessed. You always loved Rowan and Aelin’s room, and the fact it was now yours too made you want to sing from the rooftops.
“People will talk,” You warned. “They’ll disapprove.”
“Let them.” Aelin said simply. “Then I’ll deal with them.
“You mean separate their head from their body?”
“Something like that.”
You giggled again, and Aelin pulled back the sheets of the obnoxiously large bed. Rowan laid you down, right in the centre before climbing in on the spot to your right, while Aelin took up the left. She pulled the duvet up, tucking you in while Rowan placed a gentle kiss on your lips.
“We love you so much, angel.” He murmured, stroking your face. You stared into his green eyes, heart melting at the softness that lay behind them. In the past few months before the battle you had grown so accustomed to those eyes being filled with coldness, the strain of the war chipping away at him. But now he looked at peace, with you and Aelin by his side.
A smaller hand grabbed your jaw and turned your head the other war. Aelin smiled, connecting her lips with yours. Your queen, your fireheart kissed you with so much love you thought you would burst at the seams.
“Never forget that.” Aelin murmured, curling her body up against yours. “We will always be there to carry you. You are not alone.”
In a tangle of limbs, you laid with the King and Queen of Terrasen at your sides, bodies shielding you from the rest of the world as you fell into the first truly good sleep you had in a very long time.

Types of CNM: Polyamory
Polyamory is a broad category can involve a central couple who decide to see other people individually or together in romantic or sexual situations, or it can be an individual person engaged in separate romantic and/or sexual situations. Some vectors could be ongoing relationships, others could be fleeting encounters. Each polyamorous relationship looks different, but there are several recognized subtypes:
Traditional triad/throuple: all partners are in romantic and sexual relationships with each other which includes one-on-one relationships between each person in the group, and the relationship between all three partners.
"Embers in the Wing" Nerissian by @chunkypossum
"Neopolitan Bonds" series, Azris/Reader by @nocasdatsgay
"Chasing Starlight" universe, Feysand/Reader by @whisperingmidnights
Closed V: In this subtype, two people share a romantic and sexual connection with a third, but not to each other. The hinge is the person who is connected with the other two.
"Burning in the Starlight" Feris and Feysand by @starfall-spirit
Quad: A quad is polyamorous relationship between four or more people that maintain some kind of romantic and sexual connection, but it’s not necessarily in every configuration. It’s common for at least one vector in the quad to have a close relationship but not a sexual one.
"The Story of Us" Nessian/Azriel/Reader by @readychilledwine
"Stairway Snoops" Azriel/Eris/Nesta/Cassian by @acourtofladydeath
Phew, that's a long one! But we hope you learned something and enjoyed reading all the examples. We'd love to expand this list! If you know of any fics within the Maasverse that feature quads, closed V's, or thouples/triads, let us know and we will add them to our collection.
Disclaimer: It’s important to understand when discussing any type or relationships “classification” that many relationships cannot be classified. Scars of Flames and Wind | Prologue

Next Chapter
A Dark!Rowaelin x afab!Reader
Author's Note: Hello! It is with great apprehension that I post this fanfic, which has been in my mind for almost a year, but is now finally seeing the light of day. It’s also the first time in 12 years that I’m writing again, so I’m quite rusty. English is not my first language, so I apologize in advance! It’s a long chapter! (Creating context for a fanfic set in the canon era of the eight books made me rethink my life choices, but I’m not backing down!) I hope you enjoy it, and I would love to receive feedback <3
General Warning: Throughout the story, there will be Dark!Rowaelin, DubCon, possessiveness, extreme jealousy, low self-esteem, and many questionable thoughts and actions. There will be some creation of information for the sake of the plot but without straying from the canon, I promise.
Warnings: In this chapter, none; Flashbacks; Aelin’s parents as special guests.

Orynth, 10 months before the Fall of Terrasen
The library was silent and bathed in the afternoon sunlight, with the sounds of turning pages and scribbling on paper echoing through the room. Rhoe was intensely searching for some information that could help in training his niece’s power. Despite being distant relatives and her presence being only due to a future agreement, he cherished the intelligent and fearless girl she was. But her ability to manipulate earth, from a long-forgotten and diluted dynasty in the Ashryver genealogy, was growing rapidly, and without any other living relatives like her and many of their records lost, it was becoming harder to train her abilities.
With a long sigh, Rhoe diverted his gaze from the paper to his daughter, Aelin, who had insisted on coming to study with him, under the pretext of “spending more time with her father” and learning more about “whatever he was learning.”
With a soft smile on his face, he watched her. Aelin was sitting in an armchair ahead of him, holding a book up to her eyes, without turning a page for quite some time. With a low laugh, Rhoe realized that his daughter was alternating her gaze between the page and his niece sitting by the window, drawing in her notebook, unaware that she was being attentively admired.
Aelin had come just to be close to Y/N. His smile dimmed as worry washed over him.
Aelin couldn’t help but notice how her hair shone in the sunlight, how her irises became lighter, and how her skin seemed to glow as she traced lines upon lines in her notebook. It was... mesmerizing. The fantasy book was already forgotten; she couldn’t concentrate on a single word. She wasn’t sure why she couldn’t. She just felt her cheeks warm slightly, using her book as a shield against her blush.
Was this what it meant to like someone? Her heart beat faster when Y/N was around, and her mind often wandered to the moments they spent together. So it was different from friendship... right? She had heard stories about her uncle Orlon and how he liked Darrow more than a friend, and that had never seemed strange to her. But now, feeling something like this for Y/N left her a bit..confused
A memory of the conversation she had the day before with her aunt, Marion, came to her mind:
Aelin was sitting in the garden, surrounded by the flowers her aunt Marion lovingly cultivated. Spring was at its peak, and the air was fragrant with the scent of the flowers. She looked at her aunt, hesitating for a moment before asking the question that was on her mind.
“Can I ask you something?”
Marion smiled, tucking a strand of hair behind Aelin’s ear. “Of course, dear. What do you want to know?”
Aelin took a deep breath, nervous. “Uncle Orlon and Darrow... they like each other more than friends, right?”
Marion paused for a moment, surprised by the question, but her smile remained gentle. “Yes, they do..” she squinted her eyes, already knowing where this was going. “Why the question?”
Aelin took a deep breath, thinking about how to ask her that. “How do you know when you like someone like that? How do you know it’s more than friendship?”
Marion held Aelin’s hands, looking into her eyes. “Liking someone like that is a special feeling. You feel your heart beat faster when you’re near that person, and you think about them all the time. When you’re with them, you feel a happiness you can’t explain. It’s a type of affection and care that goes beyond friendship.”
Aelin bit her lip, still a bit confused, but her aunt’s words began to make sense. “And if I feel that for someone, but it’s not a boy?”
Marion smiled, caressing Aelin’s face. “Love doesn’t choose genders, Aelin. What matters is how you feel. If your heart says it’s love, then it’s love. And that’s something beautiful, regardless of who it is.”
Aelin felt relieved but still confused at the same time. “But... how can I be sure if it’s really that? How can I be certain?”
Marion thought for a moment before answering, her words filled with kindness and understanding. “Aelin, love isn’t always something we can define clearly. Sometimes, it’s confusing and complicated. But if this person makes you happy, if you feel a special connection, and if your heart beats faster just thinking about them, then maybe you already have your answer. Don’t be afraid to follow your heart.”
Aelin nodded, feeling a bit more at ease. Marion’s words echoed in her mind as she tried to understand her own feelings.
Back in the library, Aelin looked at Y/N once more. Marion’s words resonated in her mind. Maybe it was more than friendship. Maybe it was something special. She wasn’t sure yet, but she knew she wanted to find out.
Plains of Theralis - Terrasen, 6 months before the Fall
The field stretched out before them, a vast green expanse that seemed to lose itself on the horizon. The sun was high in the sky with vibrant heat. A light breeze carried the fresh scent of the earth and wildflowers, mixed with the distant sound of birds singing.
Aelin, with a daring smile on her lips, gracefully and confidently pulled the reins of her horse. She cast a challenging glance at Y/N, her blue eyes shining with the promise of fun and competition.
“Let’s see if you can catch me!” Aelin shouted, her voice filled with contagious joy and a hint of provocation.
Y/N, feeling the dense wind on her face, smiled back, her heart racing both from the race and the attention of Aelin. She spurred her horse forward, leaning in with determination. “Get ready to lose!” she responded, with a glint of challenge in her eyes.
As they raced, Y/N couldn’t help but get lost in the sight of Aelin. The way she moved, with wild freedom and natural grace, was mesmerizing. Her laughter, free and vibrant, seemed to echo across the vastness of the field, blending with the sound of the horses’ hooves hitting the ground.
Aedion, riding a bit behind and enjoying the competition, watched the interaction with an amused smile. He approached and shouted, “Show offs! I don’t want to be the third wheel here, so don’t worry about beating me!” he teased, his tone filled with humor and lightness. Y/N laughed as Aelin cast a challenging look at Aedion as she sped up even more, the wind blowing strongly in her face.
Last Beltane before the Fall
The festival was full of life and renewal. Bonfires blazed in the shadows of the night, casting a golden and dancing glow over the smiling faces of the people. The heat from the flames mixed with the fragrance of flowers and herbs adorning the place, colorful clothes and floral adornments decorated the participants, who moved to the rhythm of festive music.
Aelin and Y/N were at the center of the celebration, jumping over the flames with contagious laughter, their shadows projected on the dancing flames. The joy on their faces was palpable, and the heat of the fire seemed to reflect the flame of their own feelings. The sound of folk music and laughter mixed with the crackling of the bonfires, creating a symphony of celebration.
After a jump over the last flame, Aelin stopped dancing, and with a soft smile and a special glint in her eyes, she pulled something from her dress pocket and approached Y/N.
“I have something for you,” Aelin said, handing Y/N a small velvet box.
With her heart racing and the heat of the festival still vibrating in her bones, Y/N looked at the box with curiosity. “What is it?” she asked, her tone curious and eager.
Aelin smiled, her gaze fixed on Y/N as she watched her reaction. Y/N opened the box and found two delicate necklaces, each with a unique pendant. One necklace was adorned with a radiant sun pendant, and the other with a crescent moon. The light from the bonfires reflected off the jewelry, casting small sparks that seemed to dance in sync with the music.
“Aunt Marion made them for us. So that we always remember each other, no matter what happens,” Aelin said, her voice joyful and slightly hoarse from the celebration. She put on the necklace with the moon pendant for herself and held the necklace with the sun pendant, offering it to Y/N.
Orlon and Darrow watched from afar, their gazes attentive to the scene unfolding before them between the little princess and her future lady-in-waiting.
“Doesn’t this worry you at all? It’s good to see the girls together, but don’t you think this little crush could cause a new...linear impasse?” Darrow said with slight concern, his eyes still on the girls as they put on the necklaces for each other.
Orlon maintained a serene look at the two, still unaware of the agreement proposed not long ago: Aedion would marry Aelin in the future, with Y/N being the queen’s lady-in-waiting, a general, a bearer of wildfire, and a geomancer of the rare and forgotten Montserrat lineage.
But the “innocent crush” had everything to become something more in a few years, and that was visible to everyone. Some servants even dared to say it could even be a mating bond that caused them to get along so well and never be apart.
“Well, if that’s the case, maybe Rhoe should start ordering another little princess as soon as possible to keep the agreement in order!” Orlon jokes, his eyes shining with humor.
Darrow couldn’t help but laugh lightly, even with the weight of responsibility still hanging in the air. “Let’s see how this unfolds, then. We still have time.”
Orynth, Hours Before the Fall of Terrasen
The day in Orynth was shrouded in a tense and anticipatory atmosphere. The unexpected visit of the King of Adarlan and his son, Dorian, to the kingdom of Terrasen had alerted everyone, even after deciding to give them a warm reception.
During the dinner, where royalty and the closest members of the court were gathered at the table, Aelin struggled to maintain her composure after rejecting Prince Dorian’s friendship, which was quickly rebuffed with his comment that he ate like a little lady.
Moments later, without any warning, Aelin felt a pressure in her head as a sudden burst of heat emanated from her body. Flames erupted around her, dangerously close to the curtains and ornaments. The guests recoiled, some shouting in surprise, while the Terrasen guards rushed to control the situation. Aelin's eyes were wide with terror and frustration as Y/N, amidst the chaos, swore she saw the King of Adarlan watching with a cold smile on his lips.
The dinner ended abruptly, and a quick decision was made: Aelin would be taken to a country house, far from Orynth, where she could learn to control her powers more safely. Her parents and a few guards would accompany her.
Hours later, as night started to fall, determined to comfort Aelin, Y/N sneaked into her room. The castle was silent, as she entered the room unseen, finding Aelin sitting on the bed, her eyes still vacant from the events of the dinner.
“How are you feeling?” Y/N whispered with concern.
Aelin looked up in mild shock, her shoulders relaxing slightly at the sight of Y/N in her room. She tried to smile, but the effort was evident.
“I’m fine.” she answered quickly. “ It’s just.. it’s getting harder to.. you know, controlling these.. ” She replied, while raising her hands, voice quiet but trying to stay light. It was bad enough she had been banned from the library, her favorite place, because of them; having an episode like this, in front of everyone...
Y/N gazed at her for a moment and moved closer, sitting beside her. They sat in silence for a moment, just feeling each other’s presence. Aelin sighed deeply, her shoulders relaxing slightly.
"You've got this, Aelin. You always do.. Plus, you're not alone in this. At least they know what to expect, right?" Y/N said reassuringly. "Unlike my power, which is completely unknown, and I'm the only one who has it."
Aelin laughed lightly and before she could give her a smart remark, Evalin appeared in the doorway, her expression surprised but soon replaced by gentle concern.
“You shouldn’t be here, Y/N... Come on, let’s go back to your room,” she said, her voice firm yet kind.
Y/N resisted, holding Aelin’s hand. “I just wanted to know why she can’t stay here! Or maybe I could go too! Lady Marion is going, can I go too?” she complained, trying to give Evalin her best puppy eyes.
“Because...” Evalin hesitated. What excuse could she use? She didn’t like lying to the girls, but if she said it wasn’t safe, it would not only spark more interest but also add more reasons for her pleading.
“Because someone has to stay here to keep Prince Dorian company, and Aedion... well, he’s not the best at it, is he?” Evalin sighed, giving the most generic answer she could.
However, it was not entirely false. Aedion was still on bad terms with the princeling for spilling tea on Aelin’s dress.
Y/N huffed before getting up from the bed and hugged her, not noticing that one of the sun’s rays from her pendant had caught on Aelin’s still-scorched blue dress, tearing and falling onto the bedspread.
Aelin noticed and tried to warn her, but she had already left the room with her mother. With her eyes fixed on the chain, Aelin quickly wrapped it around her own, the pendants connecting, the sun encircled by the crescent moon. “I’ll return it later.” she whispered to herself.
But later, Terrasen was attacked.
The castle of Orynth was under siege. Flames licked at the stone walls, casting eerie shadows as screams echoed through the corridors. Adarlan, whom they had once welcomed as allies, were now ruthlessly burning and killing everyone in sight. The betrayal was a sharp dagger into their backs, a cruel twist after extending hospitality to those now wreaking havoc.
Aedion shielded Y/N with his body, keeping her safely behind him as they navigated the chaos as the last two survivors of Orlon’s personal guard guided them to the secret passengers . "Stay close," one of them muttered, gripping his sword tightly.
Y/N's eyes were wide with terror, tears streaming down her face. Her mind raced to Aelin, desperate to know her fate. "What about Aelin? What about Uncle Rhoe and Aunt Evalin?" she whispered to Aedion, her voice trembling.
Aedion's jaw tightened, his own worry evident despite his attempt to remain calm. "They'll be fine," he whispered back, "Aelin is strong, and so are Rhoe and Evalin. They have guards with them, they’ll be safe." his furrowed brow betrayed his own fear as his words sounded to not only reassure Y/N, but also himself.
They hurried down a narrow corridor, the guards pushing aside a tapestry to reveal a hidden door. "This way," one of them urged, ushering Y/N and Aedion into the secret passage. The door led them to the edge of Oakwald Forest, their only hope of escape. But as they emerged into the dim light of the forest, they were ambushed.
Adarlanian soldiers surrounded them, swiftly killing the guards who had been guiding them. "Run!" one of the dying soldiers shouted, his final act a desperate bid to save them.
Y/N didn't hesitate. She sprinted into the forest, her heart pounding, while Aedion drew a sword off the grass and followed, cutting and attacking any enemy that tried to block their path. Seconds felt more like hours, their skin and feet now bruised and scratched by the bushes as they entered the dark forest, the trees now looming like silent sentinels, and the sounds of battle faded as they ran deeper into the woods.
Y/N's breath came in ragged gasps, her mind a whirlwind of fear and grief. The betrayal, the loss, the uncertainty of their survival weighed heavily on her. Aedion was right behind her, his presence a small comfort in the midst of the nightmare.
As they reached a small clearing, they paused, both panting for breath. Aedion's face was grim, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of further danger. “You’re okay?” he asked breathlessly, while scanning her with his eyes looking for any more serious wounds.
Y/N was panting, breathless from running. Her body was caked with dirt and marked with cuts, her face streaked with tears that left trails on her cheeks. Her eyes were wide, lost and frightened, as she reached for her neck and realized her necklace was gone. She whispered Aelin's name and Orynth's, her voice trembling, lost for words.
Aedion felt the earth beneath his feet start to tremble, a subtle vibration that grew stronger as Y/N spiraled deeper into her panic, awakening her powers. He cut the distance between them, wrapping his arms around her, nestling her face against his chest beneath his chin, while his other hand gripped his sword tightly. He held her close, grounding her in the present and calming the tremors, ensuring they wouldn't attract any unwanted attention.
"We'll find Aelin," he said, hugging her from the side, one hand on her head, the other still with a firm grip on the sword. his voice firm despite the sadness in his eyes.
"We'll find them all, I promise."

I fear getting drunk with Aelin would be so fun
just imagine being at a bar or a club with her and there's music blaring through the speakers. it rumbles from the bottom of your feet into the very ache in your bones.
her hands are all over you. roaming around your hips and shoulders and neck. and she's drunkenly singing lyrics into your ear.
i feel like our fire breathing bitch queen would eat clubs up 💀
and when it's time to go home, her hand never leaves the small of your back as you both tumble into rowan. he's glaring at the both of you, but glad to know you called him to pick you up. he's glad you two had your girls night out and had fun.
he'd probably help take off yours and aelin's makeup. his calloused hands so gentle on your face. change you out of your dresses and heels. and lay you both in bed. he'd be right beside the both of you until you fell asleep. he'd be so good to you and aelin it's perfect.

I’ve been waiting for you to open your requests 😩I had to write my ideas down as to not forget them lol
But could you write a Rowaelin x Reader where Rowan accidentally calls Reader Aelin? and Reader gets upset and kind of jealous 😁
falling behind
Rowaelin x Reader
Summary: Rowan keeps calling you Aelin
Warnings: jealousy
A/N: thank you for the request!!
Rowan heard the door swing open, his magic singing to the breeze flowing in, the combined scents of his two favorite people.
“Aelin, could you take a look at -”
“Try again,” he heard your voice, not raised but sharp and short, a tone he wasn’t used to hearing directed at himself. No, that was usually saved for courtiers that pissed you off royally.
The door slammed shut, a muscle in his jaw ticked. He hated slammed doors and you knew that.
Aelin’s scent had been so strong, you must’ve just come from spending time with her. He’d figure out what was wrong later - no, later didn’t feel right. Later wasn’t good enough.
He frowned at the papers in front of him. Military movements and plans, not needed til the end of the week. Rowan shoved them to the back of his desk, placing a heavy glass paperweight on top. He hated paperwork anyway,a nd you’d always come before it if he could help it. Right now was one of those times.
-
You found Fenrys first. He read the fury lining your features and dismissed the guard he was speaking to, and ushered you back towards one of your favorite secluded gardens, far away from prying eyes and ears.
“Are you sure you weren’t -” he hesitated at the end, with good reason.
“If you say overreacting I will throw something.”
He fixed you with a look. You sighed.
“It was the third time. This week. He always assumes it’s Aelin, that’s the problem.”
“You sound jealous.”
“I am,” the words slipped out before you could think better of them. It’s true, it always felt like there was something they had together and you wouldn’t be able to share with them.
“Have you communicated this?” Fenrys prompted.
“No,” you sounded a tad too petulant.
“I don’t know much about triads but that does seem important,” he said dryly. You wanted to smack him, mainly because he’s right. “Speaking of communicating,” Fenrys continued, “you can stop hiding Rowan.”
Fenrys disappeared before you could make good on your thoughts of violence.
Rowan, per usual, didn’t look even the smallest bit ashamed at being so damn nosy.
“That was a private conversation,” you said - accused. He shrugged. Asshole.
Turning your back, you took a few steadying breaths. He waited. “I’m assuming you heard everything.”
“Yes.” Footsteps. Rough hands gripping your shoulders, turning you gently. Green eyes meeting your own. “I’m sorry.”
Your lips parted, before slamming shut. You were surprised at the rare apology from him, although you thought it was well deserved.
“Just stop calling me Aelin.”
“I think it’s deeper than that, love.” His hand slid around your back to pull you closer, warmth enveloping you. A kiss to the top of your hea.
He wasn’t entirely forgiven, not yet, but you could lean into his warmth for now.
“We need ot talk,” you murmured, “the three of us.”
“I hope you don’t think you’re leaving,” his voice was teasing but his body tensed.
Your immediate “no” relaxed him.
“Communication is important,” you parroted Fenrys and Rowan had the good grace not to comment on it.

Could I ask for Rowaelin x pregnant reader please
Poly!Rowaelin x pregnant!reader headcanon
The two of them get waaayyy over protective when you find out you’re pregnant
Especially Rowan bc of everything that happened with Lyria
He was terrified that he’d lose you and the baby
But you and Aelin were there to comfort him and remind him that the evil was gone, you were safe
Rowan refused to leave your side, insisting that he was always around to guard you and you weren’t even showing yet
You started going to more court meetings just so he would do his kingly duties
Aelin spoiled you more than usual
Any junk food you wanted she got it for you! From chocolates to any wild sandwich you could think of it was in your hands
When your bump started showing you were so happy. You could finally feel your little babe and could talk to your stomach without getting an insane looks
Since you were about 3-4 months along you could still fit in your clothes so you put on one of your favorite dresses and set out to find your mates to show them
You find them in the throne room, just having finished a meeting with the lords
You keep your hands in front of your stomach as you walk up to them and you have this stupid grin on your face
“Y/n! Good morning sweet girl, how are you.” Aelin cooed at you as she raced off her throne to you, Rowan on her heels
“Perfect. Look!” You remove your hands to show off the small bump
Aelin let’s out a cry covering her mouth, “it’s so cute! That’s our babe ohh.” And she kissed you softly
Rowan was mesmerized by it. Silver lined his eyes, his lips pulled into a tight smile
He dropped to his knees and cradled your stomach between his hands leaving feather soft kisses across it, “this is amazing.” He whispered as you ran your fingers through his silver hair
You and Aelin would shop for baby clothes during your free afternoons with Rowan acting as your bodyguard of course
Rowan would growl at anyone who looked at you
It didn’t matter if it was a friend or stranger
Rowan and Lorcan almost got into a fight bc he accidentally growled at Elide for touching your bump
The farther into your pregnancy the more fatigued you got
Eventually you just stayed in bed resting and taking a few walks during the day
Your walks were your alone time with the babe since your mates were always around
You’d point out your favorite flowers in the garden, tell them about Aelin and Rowan, and the latest gossip
This child was going to be the biggest snoop because of you
They would make sure you had everything you needed during your pregnancy
And most importantly that you were healthy and comfortable
Sometimes Aelin would massage your shoulders while Rowan rubbed your feet and ankles
They loved talking to the babe before bed, “were you nice to your mama today?” “What did you two do?” “We already love you so much baby.”

out of the woods
a/n;; HI EVERYONE!!! im alive and im back with a new fic. i know i havent written ANYTHING in months but sincerely, school projects have been a pain and also i didnt have any idea for any fic, but one of my goals for this year is to write more so, here is a rowaelin fic. give it some love <3 love u guys and sorry for making you wait
WARNINGS; angst to fluff, cage
she has been trapped in a cage inside the woods for 15 years, too many years for a human, a few years for a fae, her hopes of being found are gone. now she is just a memory in the minds of all her closest friends and family… including her mates.
but she didn't forget them.
aelin, with her bright eyes, golden hair like liquid gold and her fierce and wild nature.
rowan, his silver hair like moon tears, his green eyes like precious gems and his calm nature, the opposite of aelin.
she looked at the moon like all the nights since she had been there, trapped in a cage of stone and metal, alone with the company of the moon and stars.
she awoke abruptly by the knock of the door.
“food” the door opened and a trail of food was pushed inside. with the strength left in her legs, she stood from the corner of the cage and with wobbly legs, walked to the trail, sitting on the cold floor, feeling nothing as she sat there, eating the cold food, like always. it had been one of her punishments, no warm food, no warm room, no bed, nothing, only the clothes she was wearing when everything happened. she thought about the last day she talked, she didn’t remember her voice, it was sweet? it was loud?
she dug her fingers into the plate and touched something colder than the food, something that shouldn't be there but was. her hand grabbed the metal and her breath hitched, her heart stopped and her mind went blank. a key. it was a key. someone had placed it there so she could run from that hell of a place, run to her beloved ones… run to her home.
she waited until night, when only the breeze could be heard and every animal and fae was asleep. she was shaking from head to toes, but she needed to calm down, she needed to be as silent as possible to not be heard. quietly, she opened the lock of the door and pushed the door slowly, when she was finally out, she swallowed a sob and bit her lip, that was freedom, she was free.
quietly as a feather, she walked through the corridors of the house, up the stairs and through more corridors, but she saw a door at the back of the house, one that led to the forest and went straight to it. when she opened the door and her feet touched the grass, she felt the trees welcomed her, the air was pure, clean, and after 15 years of hell… she was in paradise.
and ran.
ran through the forest, through the night, the trees moving and leading the way to the castle of beauty and magic.
the sun was climbing his way to the sky when she halted at a hill and looked to the city infront of her. she was home, she made it, tears fell down her face as she hit the floor, her eyes closing and her mind echoed the same word.
home. home. home. home. home.
the large glass doors that lead to the balcony were opened. she could have sworn they were close when they left the room, but there was something strange, something was missing in the room, or rather, something had been added to it. her eyes searched the room, and she found it, her heart beating faster and faster as she looked down to the dress on the bed, a little figure made of sticks and leaves above, a sleeping figure, but she could recognize that face even with her eyes closed.
carefully not to break it, she took the figure and she felt it, the golden string that attached her to the other half of her. alive. she was alive and near them. near home.
she ran to the door and opened it, her voice loud and filled with emotion.
“rowan!! we need to go!! she's alive!!”
warm hands touched her face and body.
then cold hands.
a pair of arms lifted her from the floor, a solid and firm body that protected her.
a soft voice.
“we got you little flame. you’re home”
the room was warmer than she remembered, and the floor was smooth and soft… and her head was resting on pillows, she wasn’t in the cage, it was real, she was home. gently, she opened her eyes adjusting to the sun that entered the room. she knew that ceiling and the paints that decorated it. it was then that she noticed the two bodies near her, on either side, two arms around her waist, gripping it tightly but it was a comfort tight, something she had missed so deeply.
she felt two pairs of eyes looking at her right side. slowly, she turned her face and met a strong face, with green eyes and silver hair. his eyes were red, dark circles under them, a new bright on those beautiful eyes. rowan lifted a hand to her face, his fingers tracing the lines of her face, her lips, her nose, her cheekbone… aelin was looking at them as she cried silently, all the emotions of the last years broked the wall of her heart.
she turned her face to look at her mate, a soft smile, one she thought she would never make again. 15 years later, she talked again.
“hi fireheart”
aelin hugged her mate and cried. rowan hugged them both and cried.
she cried between her mates, but this time, they were happy tears.
i’m finally home.

Note
I just know that Rowaelin would be good lovers to their significant other. They would be so protective and supportive. I want them so bad it’s not normal.
oh absolutely. you never have to ask for ANYTHING, nobody would ever glance negatively towards you because they know rowan and aelin would destroy them
