So! On the topic of Octavia/Loona:

'Octavia is 17, that makes her underage!' Ok. She's literally less than a year from 18, and no one said she had to start dating before then or that Loona would hypothetically have feelings for her before then. And before you pull the grooming card, it is ONE YEAR and I doubt they'd be seeing each other frequently in that time, outside of maybe texting. Oh no the horror.

'They're going to become step-sisters/They ARE step-sisters!' There is no confirmation of that. Yeah, probably. Most likely. But you know what could also happen? Stolitz could break up. Either of them could die. They could just.... decide to stay as a casual relationship and not tie the knot. Are those likely? No, but they're possible. Nothing is confirmed, and future possibilities that may not even happen aren't good ground to stand on (also assuming every relationship has to end in a traditional marriage is super tradhet). As for already being sisters.... one, no, two - Stolitz aren't even dating, you know that right? They're fuck-buddies. They meet to have sex and that's it. Yeah, obvious feelings, but neither have confessed and their one date attempt blew up. If you consider fucking a good enough basis for family then you do you, but most people don't go by that definition.

'That scene gave me super sibling energy!' Good for you. Genuinely. I am happy for you. I'm sure that made you very happy. To me that scene was INCREDIBLY romantic from the lighting to the framing to the shots to the actions, but that's me and you're you. I have a sibling and we sure as hell do not act even in the same universe as that, so I'm operating off my personal experience here. The way you saw the scene doesn't dictate anything. Sorry.

me in present day, having made only a total of 3 posts in the past year, a very depressingly small number of them actually being art that i drew whilst simultaneously ignoring the separate blog i made to post my art and never once posting a single thing on there, and only doom scrolling through Tumblr at 2am wondering why i'm an insomniac while i consistently only ever like posts instead of reblogging or commenting on them because i can't bring myself to do it even thought it would most definitely mean WAY more to the posters if i did either of those things, and now i have returned to Tumblr once more to pretend like i'm going to start posting more regularly again when i 90% most likely won't, carrying distain for ships and fandoms i used to like and now harboring a sad collection of rarepair ships that i hold dear to my heart that the majority of the fandoms i'm in constantly only ever view as siblings, and overall still not knowing what the fuck i'm actually doing here and having no real mutuals but still liking posts that say "tag a mutual that you'd do this with" and will probably only ever continue to lurk on this app like a crackhead hiding in someone's basement while acting like i have the personality of a grizzled australian comedian whose sardonic humor and jaded views on the world are lovable and endearing to the people around me when, in reality, i'm just a barely-passable-adult white chick sitting in my room eating Ben & Jerry's cheesecake ice cream with no idea of what i'm going to do tomorrow: sup.

i see a lot of people criticizing that stoltiz and their daughters are a mess but honestly that's what makes me like them??

i like that it wasn't mutual love at first sight, and i like that they can't express themselves properly, all the misunderstandings and lack of communication and all this difficulty in expressing themselves, that's very entertaining to me

and even their daughters are terrible like their dads, i mean just look at loona's advice in this scene!

and she's saying all this because it's what she genuinely believes and she thinks she's helping blitzo

and octavia is a child of an arranged marriage and parents who divorced, she is still too immature to deal with all of this, and is so blinded by nostalgia and thinks that one day they really were a happy family

honestly i think even if stolas said "via i'm fucking gay and my dad forced me to get married since i was a kid", octavia would still find a way to still be upset with stolas. she's still too immature to deal with all of this

in fact, i think that the four of them are still very immature, that's why they can't express themselves properly or see the complete picture. they are so consumed by their insecurities (and think they are the truth) and they don't even try to express them. these things take time and i'm honestly happy to discover a cartoon that doesn't have linear character arcs like this, i know this can be tiring for some people but it's this realism that makes me like it

that's why as a stoltiz shipper i can never understand the discussions stolas vs blitzo on who is right, because in my opinion they are both wrong (maybe not for the same thing, but still) and they are horrible at expressing themselves and they are also horrible at understanding the that the other (and their daughters) are feeling, but even so i can understand their line of reasoning even though i know it's not true

it is also important to remember that in many scenes only we, the audience, know that information (again, their difficulty in expressing themselves and lack of communication)

i wouldn't exactly say i "defend" them, because i just understand their point of view and where this is coming from, and 95% of the time they are all indeed wrong x3

basically it's all this mess that makes me like the ship and the daughters, it's clear that this family loves and cares for each other, they just don't know how to express themselves or interact with anyone. but they have the most important thing, which is love, and with that they can heal and improve

they are worst and they are the best, i love them and i love this story <3

I would simply make people notice that Loona, in some sort, canonically knows Octavia and get along pretty well with her, this comment from her "official" Instagram page on Stolas's post confirms it:

I made some corrections because it has been revealed that the Insta accounts are not totaly official and canonical to the characters arcs. Of course this doesn't mean that we can't still enjoy them, afterall they are "non-canonical material" made to entertain the fans.

i think octavia is supposed to be a teenager while loona is a young adult so i can’t get on board with shipping them romantically but i DO want them to be snarky sisters
