In my genuine opinion, Johan Seong and Samuel Seo being genderbent just feels like it would be better and make sense. For starters, give me female characters who genuinely show their anger and fury. Female characters who genuinely mess up and lash out and grow (because Samuel - as annoying as the guy is - has quite the character development) and strong and less stereotype-fitting female characters.

Secondly, in terms of female Lookism characters specifically - female characters whose trauma isn't sexual (because the representation and existence is important, but why does almost every female character with trauma undergo that?), not dependent on another character, or a straight up abuser (like Samuel Seo's mom, Vivi ran a literal rape and drug ring, and Mitsuki - literally drugging and gaslighting Sinu).

Finally, it would be interesting to see these fighters' interactions not only with each other (the two might feel more a kinship to each other), but also their interctions with each other.

Seokdu Wang watches Taesoo intently, slowly picking up the brussel sprouts on his plate. The Ansan King is trembling, completely dropping the dead boar he’s holding on the ground, his only eye glued on the small TV with a pulsating bulge.

Is that James fucking Lee?

And- Lo and behold, it most certainly is. The menace is on Taesoo’s TV screen, holding an almost identical little girl in his arms, laughing. The bastard is laughing.

“Why’s that fucker on national TV?”

Seokdu offers a casual shrug, while Jichang gives him a sharp look, clearly disapproving of the fact that Taesoo just dropped an entire animal on the floor.

“Mm’apparently he’s an Idol,” Jaegyeon snorts, slurping on a drink.

An Idol? The prick who took his eyeball all those years ago is a prissy celebrity?

Taesoo’s face twitches in something close to a seizure as he watches James answer a question from the interviewer, proudly proclaiming that his supposed daughter inherited her red hair from him. A woman—his girlfriend? Wife?—stands beside him, draped on his arm, looking entirely too content.

With a sharp hiss, Taesoo flings his jacket over the screen, as though it could somehow shield him from the sheer injustice of the moment. The other kings exchange knowing glances, but Taesoo is already stalking off, his frustration practically vibrating in the air. He plops down outside, fists clenched, eyes shooting angry lasers at the ground.

Fuck. How many fans does he have? He’s not even that good looking. He’s fucking megamind with that forehead.

Taesoo scrambles to get his phone out of his pocket, and once he does, goes on a rampage search. Creating new accounts left and right, he dives into a sea of fan edits, each one more nauseating than the last. The fawning comments directed towards James- Diego, only fuel his rage further.

Taesoo decides that he needs to balance things out, and makes his very own hate comments to satisfy himself. But it’s not enough. He’s furious at James’ success, and wants to see the man fall.

And then, it happens. His eyes fall upon a video— a twerking video. Of Diego Kang throwing it back and doing aegyo. Taesoo’s fake eye pops out, and instantly, he’s rolling on the ground, cackling like a deranged weirdo.

Jaegyeon steps outside, only to be perplexed at the sight of the grown man writhing on the ground. With a scowl, he considers running Taesoo over with the Initial N again.

Jake can always make you smile. It's maybe the one thing he prides himself on above all. Above his fighting skills, above his natural leadership, above his charisma, above (though he will never say this aloud) Big Deal.

He can pull a smile from your lips, the kind that reaches your eyes and makes him puff his chest out with pride, as easily as he pulls laughter (reluctant or otherwise) from your tongue.

It's a gift, at least he likes to think so. 

And a gift only he is bestowed with (again, at least he likes to think so).

The frequency of your smiles drop. The wattage of your beam declines. You mention that the grind of everyday is wearing you down, pressures from your workload dulling your shine.

Jake can sense your half hearted 'lol' and 'haha' through text, your perfunctory laughter down the phone.

Even tonight, together after being like two ships passing for weeks; his well-timed wordplay, his goofy faces and silliness which is usually a surefire hit - misses its target.

The smile never reaches your tired eyes.

Jake deflates. He swallows down the pout on his lips and instead wraps his arms around you as you sigh against his shoulder.

He holds you for seconds, for minutes, for perhaps hours until your tension starts to ebb away and you begin to feel like yourself again.

You sigh once more.

"Better?" comes the low timbre of his voice.

You're silent but he feels you nodding. 

Then. Finally. You reward him.

A small chuckle, breath ghosting his skin, like bright rays cutting across storm grey clouds.

In Jake's arms, you feel light as air. Your laughter lifts him, and he floats along beside you.

goo kim aimlessly wanders around lamp-lit roads while the sun goes down by the beach, watching palm trees blowing in the wind and feeling goosebumps raise upon exposed skin. dark silhouettes around him fade into the background as his vision pans across his hometown and he recalls his time training by the sea, sweating in the hot sun and getting more irritated every minute by the sand creeping between his toes. he'd often jump into the water to cool off after a long day, just before his master scolded him for leaving his sword in the sand. he remembers the sunlight blinding his eyes, the chemical scent of sunscreen, the feel of his clothes and hair blowing in the breeze. he'd give anything to go back. for now, he'll settle for taking a picture.
