gravity falls fic during the mullet stan era where stan is super depressed and having a terrible time with all different kinds of issues, ford finds him one way or another, realizes how deeply hes hurt his brother, his twin, his other half, and does all he can to give stan support and a home. but ford never stops researching gravity falls, never stops building the portal, besides stanley, theres nothing to stop stanford decent into instability and paranoia— fiddlefords done and gone by this point. and his dependence on bill becomes prominent and stanley notices and has no idea how to help him.

stanley tries his hardest to persuade stanford to give up the project and that its not healthy and hes going to get into a hole he cant dig out of.

“Ford, I know how this goes. Give it up— this isn’t good for you. Just trust me.”

They argue about it. They argue about a lot of things lately.

“How could you know what i’m dealing with?! We went through fundamentally different things. You don’t understand a thing.”

The fight still happens, Stanley gets burned, the portal activates, and someway or another, Stanford ends up lost in the mulitverse.

Idk just that feeling that Stan watched Ford decent in real time, in a similar state ford found him in. but stan couldnt save ford the way ford did to stan.
