Look, Listen, Learn: A Year of Noticing is a seasonal collection of words and images designed to inspire a connection with the small wonders of the natural world.
A downloadable calendar, ready to print or use on screens, each month of Look, Listen, Learn features a short text and an illustration, along with a prompt encouraging readers to create their own reflections on the world around them.
A collaboration between illustrator François Vigneault and author Jaimie Franchi, new updates of Look, Listen, Learn will be released seasonally, with instalments of three months coming out on each solstice/equinox throughout 2023. "But if college was free, then people would abuse that and get useless degrees" hell yeah I would! If I could go to college without debt I would make it my job to get a degree in every little thing that interested me. I'd get a doctorate in film studies. I'd have a bachelor's degree for every science I like. I'd try to learn at least 5 languages with varying results. I would learn something "useful" like coding and then follow it up with a ""useless"" degree like art history. I'd be the world record speed run holder for getting every degree possible.
But I can't afford college without going into massive debt, so instead I spent the last 5 years trying to figure out what I am passionate enough about to consider going into debt over, because unfortunately being passionate about everything is extremely expensive to pursue.

We are looking at someone still stuck at the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy of needs.#Everything and everyone is a piece in a game. Bonds and friendships are assets. People are dispensable.#He wants to climb for the sake of climbing. He wants praise and recognition because he feels it is deserved. Big Mama must have lost some serious standing in the yokai underworld because it’s gotten apparent that she keeps being beaten by a small group of teenagers and the occasional rat man, and when it’s not them then she’s taking L’s from her own schemes working against her.
And in the ensuing power vacuum, the Hamatos accidentally become the most feared crime family known to all the big bads of the Hidden City.
After all, they’ve publicly outplayed Big Mama multiple times, a couple of them have taken out the heads of two of the most well known criminal organizations, one took out Heinous Green, two are responsible for the destruction of Witch Town, they have ties to both the infamous Baron Draxum and Captain Piel, they won the Doom Dome death race, they’re Battle Nexus Champions, they’ve displayed insane feats of power and defeated impossibly strong enemies, most of them have been to jail, and they regularly mingle with humans.
You can just imagine the notoriety they’d accumulate from word of mouth alone.

Some more advice for fellow adults: set your ego aside and let younger people (even kids!) educate and teach you. There is no shame in looking to a younger person for education and knowledge. It is, actually, a big facet of humanity that we teach each other - why, then, does that teacher need to be the Right Age in order for you to be willing to learn from them?
#youth liberation#adultism#i'm looking to a younger person to teach me about crochet and it's actually FINE#it's actually not an attack on Your Ego that a young person is more knowledgeable about something or possesses a talent at a level you dont!#and personally i like learning from younger people because they tend to be kind and PASSIONATE about what they are talented at!#like the young person i'm learning crochet from has this super bubbly and energetic personality and that's MOTIVATING me#and it feels less like they're just dictating crochet at me and more like we're equals sharing a passion and a craft#and THAT is what makes people want to learn. THAT is what will keep people engaged and motivated even when it gets tough#frankly it's just... kind of a red flag to me when somebody devalues younger people SO MUCH that they REFUSE to listen or learn from them#it's just... arrogance and cruelty for the sake of cruelty in my eyes

They're off to see the wizard! The wonderful wizard of Oz!!
I actually started this last month and then got burnt out and didn't finish it until now but whatever I FINISHED IT!! I finished watching Scooby Doo and Guess Who last month and there's a Wizard of Oz parody in the last episode and I just knew I had to do fanart, a legal requirement if you will.
I kept Shaggy, Fred and Velma's costumes from the episode the same but I thought Daphne and Scooby deserved costumes that were a bit more personal too. But who would the wizard in question be?? Well don't worry because I drew art for that too!!
I just can't stop thinking about a proper direct to DVD scooby WOZ parody film and how Van Ghoul should be the wizard, like in my head it's perfect.
