my essential stationery as a uni student

happy 2025 my loves ! with my winter quarter starting soon, i know a lot of you are going back to school. here is a list of my essential stationery that i love. keep in mind that spending money on expensive stationery or buying new notebooks all the time is not necessary at all to succeed academically. but if you guys do need to buy new pens, pencils, or notebooks, here are my favorites.

i. bag i use the longchamp le pliage medium tote. the medium imo is the perfect size, but some more affordable options are: - trader joes tote bag (available in store. i used this senior year of hs!) - thrifted leather bag i prefer shoulder bags, but again, you can wear whatever bag/backpack you prefer or already have!

ii. notebooks here are my favorite notebooks i use for school. when i look for a notebook, i try to get one that isn't too thick or big because it is less weight to carry in my bag and more functional. for wide ruled notebooks, i prefer college ruled as i get to write more on one page and it is aesthetically more pleasing for me to look at.

muji, college ruled (economics, language, science): i use this for note-taking, both in class and out of class. i prefer writing notes on paper to taking them digitally, as it is easier for me to retain the information. maruman, graphing (math): i discovered this brand last year at a local stationery store and it's become my favorite stationery item discover! i prefer spiral notebooks for mathematic courses, as it's easier to write on and use a full page! there's only 80 sheets on this, but it almost lasted me almost my whole ap calculus ab class last year! i only needed a new notebook on the last 2 months of hs. midori, graphing (math): i haven't used this one yet! but i'm planning to buy it for my first college calc course next quarter. i'm going to use this one as a formal math notebook where i keep notes on different formulas & theorems, whereas i use maruman for homework and note-taking during class!

iii. pencils & pens

mitsubishi alpha gel - my favorite mechanical pencil ever! the gel is so squishy and it helps make note-taking easier/faster. i have a pink & silver ver of this! sakura sumo grip - i like the mitsubishi gel one more, but this one is really good too! it also makes note-taking smoother/faster.

pilot - you can find this pen in any store (target or stationery) and easily online. the ink can get messy, it does take a while to dry (wait before flipping the page!), and it is pretty disliked, but this is my all time favorite ink pen. i love the way it feels when you write with this and how it turns out. muji dupe - i think i ordered this my second year of hs, and as a college first-year, i still have half the pack left. the muji ones might be better quality (i don't know, i've never tried them), but these work fine and i quite like them! they're 0.35mm, so the letters come out very smalll.

Little success storyyyy!!

Some weeks ago i saw this girl at school with the prettiest longchamp pink le pliage… i was never crazy abt the bag but in PINKKKKKK???? It was so pretty . So i told myself “that’s so pretty, just like mine !” Now i do not see this girl very often shes not in my class, maybe i see her 3/4 times a week? Anyway, anytime i saw her i would tell myself “i already have that” and go on about my day.. i didnt want to pay it full price and i couldnt find it in any other site for less, i tried looking for it maybe twice? but then i was like “no i already have it” and 😝 the bags mine now !!!!!!!!!

My Eid outfit for the second day!

Ramadan ended sooner than anticipated and I literally had no clue Eid al-Fitr is beginning until the night before when Saudi Arabia sighted the crescent moon but I couldn't be more happy! Like most Muslims, I always feel a little sad when Ramadan comes to an end but I look forward to celebrating Eid with my family as well. For the second day, I was invited for an event and here's the outfit I've planned.

My 'overnight glowup'.

I use this method anytime I need to look good the next day, usually for an important outing. I ice my face to shrink those pores, hydrate my skin with various serums such as niacinamide, slather my face with tons of aloe vera gel and massage it into my skin, and I seal it all in with Dr. Jart's intensive mask. I also drink my beauty smoothie before bed (filled with collagen, biotin and hyaluronic acid), eye whitening drops, fish oil, 8 hours of quality sleep, pilates session and lots of stretching + posture exercises to look and feel my best the next day.

Modanisa Gilet Dress in Pink

Modanisa is a very popular online shop for Muslim women. In my experience, it can be a hit or miss, they sell a combination of different brands that vary hugely in terms of quality and price range but I have had positive experiences with this particular one. I love gilet dresses, they suit my body shape and essence quite nicely, they are elegant and the pink makes it very youthful and cute. I will wear this with a light pink hijab a few shades lighter than the dress and a white long sleeved shirt exactly like in the photo. I will complete the look with a pair of simple white sneakers. White sneakers + Nude stockings = Chef's kiss.

Longchamp Le Pliage Small in Cream

I am literally obsessed with Longchamp. I love it, it's my thing, let it go. I own many bags from the brand, they are quite versatile and even though this one looks rather small it fits a lot of things and looks good. I also really like that the bags are foldable and don't take up too much space. I am wearing this with a trench coat in the same color.

Rose Gold jewelry.

I am keeping it very minimalistic with jewelry. The Cartier Love bracelet in rose gold and some simple casual wear rings in rose gold as well. I will add a pair of pearl drop earrings and a rose gold watch. Jewelry makes me feel a million times more polished and I have this annoying habit of fidgeting with my rings to keep my hands busy.

Simple Makeup.

If I have one celebrity look alike it's probably Anya Taylor Joy (and Corpse Bride if that counts). I've lost count of the amount of times I was compared to a Tim Burton character and it's now time to embrace that about me. I like soft makeup looks and I think she looks very pretty here. I will do a natural look with an emphasis on glowy skin, some blush, dark cherry lips, inner eye highlight, eyeliner, shimmery eyeshadow with more dramatic lashes.

I warded off every tiktok girlies attempt to sell me the longchamp le pliage mini bag but I met up with my bestie ONCE and saw her carrying it and now I’m obsessed 😔

Hi Kitty! I couldn’t think of anyone better to ask, but do you have any tips for repairing worn lonchamp le pliage tote corner wear? I absolutely love the bag but I’ve used it so much so that the corners have little holes in them and I’m not sure how to go about fixing them.

This video gives an old Longchamp a complete overhaul, and she sews up the worn corners by essentially just creating a new seam. It will shrink your bag’s dimensions slightly, but it repairs the corners quickly and easily, and you can reinforce the new corners by sewing over and over, and even darning in the very outer edge if you need. This is a particularly weak spot for Le Pliage, and I think that they do officially recommend turning the corners inwards to avoid this happening, but that’s not always a look desired and appreciated by everyone, so instead I’d recommend sewing a little reinforcement and perhaps using a felt bag liner (as shown in the video) so the seams are protected from sharp edges!
