content afab!reader, chubby!reader, josh and reader are in an established relationship, cunnilingus
note(s) until dawn is actually a game about a polycule falling out | sam is just kinda there but both josh and reader thinks shes fine af
Josh’s voice is soft as he calls up to Sam. You’re spread out on the sectional couch listening to their short conversation as Josh tends to the fireplace in front of you. The television above drones on quietly in the background. Stretching you blink slowly at him, Sam’s response coming back after a short pause.
“I’m going to take a quick shower before we head out.”
“Oh, well, do you need any help? Maybe with your hair?”
The last comment is a mumble and you scoff making your way over to the minx. When he finally notices your presence you lightly smack his chest with the back of your hand. He feigns hurt with a well-placed hand over his wounded heart.
“What, you want me to go up there and ask her to join us?”
His eyelids widen for a moment before relaxing.
“Really?”
“As if, like you’d be able to focus”
Honestly, Sam is gorgeous and you wouldn't mind her joining your personal soiree. Unfortunately for you, Josh gets distracted easily and your last threesome ended with you unsatisfied after he got overwhelmed. Dancing your fingers over his shoulder blade you take in the heat dancing in the air. Pulling yourself away you plop back down onto the couch and bounce a little as you settle in. Dragging a blanket over your lap you feel the fluffiness beneath your fingertips. The loft feels nice and cozy especially with the autumn chill settling over the city. Making his way over to your spot he crouches in front of you with a wolfish grin. Pulling the blanket slowly off your legs you watch him with thin lips. Keeping your protests to yourself as you assess exactly what his plan is. Finally, he leaves the blanket in a pile on the floor next to him. With gentle hands on your knees, he starts slowly pushing them apart so he can watch your dress slide up your thighs.
“Joshua Washington I didn't spend hours getting ready just for you to undo it all with this spiked libido.”
He gives you a simple chuckle and kisses the inside of your plush thigh. Huffing you shift to give him better access. He licks a stripe from his spot against your skin to your lace bottoms. A cute black thong he bought you for your anniversary months ago. Something you didn't have a chance to wear until now. And he absolutely loved it. He gives you a little growl as he creates a wet spot right against your clothed pussy. You want to argue with him, claim if he does this you’ll have to take a shower and you three will be late for dinner. A weekly occurrence, something Josh would rather die than miss. You know better. He won’t leave a mark that you don’t beg him to. Once his spit soaks through you're panting like a dog in heat. Something something he has you wrapped around his finger. Whatever quote Emily scoffs at you every time you have to hang up because he's grinding against your full ass. You couldn't care less, especially when he starts hitting that sweet spot deep in you. Hooking his thumbs into the legs of the lace you raise your hips to allow him easier removal of the infuriating fabric. Once he pulls them down around your ankles he claps his hands together excitement glowing in his brilliant irises.
“Here’s Joshy”
“Did you just quote Psycho at my vagina?”
He immediately looks at you genuinely appalled.
“You're not being serious.”
“You know I can never sit through those old movies, they have such long intros.”
“I really don’t know if we can continue. Psycho. God”
“Josh, I’m sorry I got Psycho and The Shining mixed up. If it’s any consolation I was thinking of the 1960 version and not that Bates Motel shit I know you hate.”
He takes a moment to think it over before responding. A long moment too and it has you shifting.
“You saved yourself with that.”
He taps his pointer finger against your knee during his response. Diving forward his tongue easily finds your clit. Surprise and pleasure flood your veins at the same time and it leaves you lightheaded. Gripping a fistful of dark hair at the back of his head you press him closer to your core. Forcing two fingers beneath his chin he slips them inside your soaked core. Wiggling them he’s limited in the amount of room he has to thrust. Focusing on using the tips of his fingers he slightly moves them in and out while pressing hard against that spongy part inside of you.
“Oh~ Josh, fuck.”
“I got you, babe.”
His voice is muffled but you hear him clear as a bell. Huffing you weakly grind yourself against his face feeling his prominent nose press against the fat of your lower stomach. Letting your head fall back against the back of the couch you relish in the moment. Pleasure floods your abdomen and you can feel it tighten as you get closer to release. He alternates between short licks and hard sucks. Something that works in his favor as the coil in your abdomen finally snaps and you flood his chin and fingers in your essence. Panting you leave your eyes closed for a few moments as you attempt to catch your breath. Pulling out of you with a slick pop you nearly jump out of your skin as something pops against your chest. Blinking, you see Sam handing Josh a towel for his soaked limbs. Looking down you take the fresh pair of underwear in your hands and slip it around your ankles. Grabbing the towel out of the air as Josh tosses it to you you take a moment to clean yourself up before pulling the dark blue thong up your legs and settling it snugly against you. Fixing your dress you give Sam an apologetic smile.
“Hope you two worked up an appetite.”

WIP Wednesday
was challenged by @marviless to post part of my first fic and it's her birthday and I've never been able to deny her anything so!!! here we go have some of my hard of hearing! buck fic <3 this is my baby
“Okay, wait,” Chris says around a mouthful of pizza. “If tardigrades are indestructible, what happens if you, like, yeet them into space?”
“They actually did.” Buck waves his slice in Chris’s direction to punctuate his statement. They’re sitting at the loft island, capping the end of what Chris – to Buck’s delight – still refers to as a “Buck Day” over pizza and cranapple juice. He had picked Chris up from school and said Hey bud, do you wanna go to the library? and Chris had shaken his head and said No, I wanna go to the aquarium, and to keep the illusion that he isn’t as agreeable as Eddie has him believe, had responded with a laugh and Don’t they close in a few hours? and Chris had quickly jutted back Don’t you have season passes? and who was Buck to argue with that logic?
And anyway. After learning the aquarium, in fact, closes at eight, the trip was bookended with a headache-inducing drive home and a last minute decision to grab a pizza from the chain across the street. The faint glow of the horizon is imperceptible through the overhead lights coating the loft in a soft, warm light, and a conversation about the new exhibit at the aquarium had devolved into a dissertation on tardigrades, thus: “So, in 2007 they… yeeted…” He curls his finger in a faint air-quote gesture around the word. “them into space, on a satellite, where they found out they can survive in a vacuum and, like, a bunch of radiation.”
Chris swallows, nodding, and says something, vaguely sounding like “Wood’n a little light?” which, Buck knows, makes absolutely no sense in any context. He shakes his head in confusion.
“Say that again?”
“What do they look like?”
“Oh,” That’s not what he said at all. He grabs his phone with his free hand, swiping it open and thumbing “tardigrade pictures” across the keyboard. Google loads the images, and he taps the first one – a computer generated image of a beige blob floating in a green space. It might as well be a still from a cheap sci-fi movie for all anyone knows. He holds it out to Chris, raising his glass to his mouth. “Here.”
Chris snorts. “Their faces look like assholes.”
“What?”
“I said-”
“Yeah, I heard you that time.” He flicks his wrist dismissively at Chris, juice sloshing in the suspended glass. “Why would you say that?”
“Look at them! They look like Doctor Who aliens, Buck.”
“Okay, well-” He tries.
“It’s literally in their name.” Chris’s giggles drown out Buck's attempts at honoring the little guys' dignity.
“Well… yeah. It is, you’re right,” he concedes. He turns his phone off and sets it face-down on the counter.
“Are you…offended for them?” Chris stares at Buck's face which is, without a doubt, turning some shade of pink. He can feel the warmth underneath his cheeks. “I don’t think they have feelings.”
“You–you don’t know that!”
“They’re indestructible, right? I think they’ll be fine.”

In the trying times that Buck was not looking for a relationship, he never knew he’d found something just what he needed when he was trying to save his father from a capsized cruise ship.
Love? Could be. Friendship? I think we already know he’s way past that. Sure he may have stumbled, fumbled and fall (maybe not the correct tense but I wanted the quote to fit lol) all the while he was meeting some new guy, he did managed to get up. Eventually.
Opening his horizons, he met with the guy, tried to get his attention. May even failed a couple of times trying to seek it from the wrong person, yes I’m talking about Eddie, but he still kinda found his way, or rather, charmed the man he was trying to go for.
Vicious he may seem for maiming his best friend, just to get some guy’s attention, rest assured he feels bad for doing such a thing, and I’m pretty sure he apologized to Eddie off screen, so there’s that.
Everything fell into place right after that incident. Buck at the loft, Tommy at the loft, both expressing how sorry they are about each others’ actions and laying out all their feelings which was a bit weird to be doing for someone you just met.
But yet they never held back. Both of them. They weaved through their emotions, they stayed truthful with each other all the while keeping a subtle and light tone throughout the entire conversation.
Until the kiss came.
Counting towards every second from Tommy entering until Tommy kissing our (or at least my) favorite firefighter, it was not that much. But then again, this is just a procedural TV show and I’m no showrunner to tell them that things are moving too quickly.
Killing this… relationship off, even before it started was definitely a bad move, any normal person can see that, you don’t have to be a writer or showrunner to see that these two have chemistry, generic for that matter, which is the good kind of chemistry.
That day when that episode aired, was a good day. The day when Buck kissed Tommy for the first time and opened up so many doors into Buck’s whole identity, so many things available for him to be explored to be learned to be… experienced.
Only at that moment he could truly say that Buck was free to be called bisexual. He never understood what it meant before, but with Tommy giving him the tiny push? It was as if the fog has started to clear up and Buck could start seeing what’s in front of him a little better now.
My only doubt is that I didn’t get to watch it sooner, but I did my time, got caught up. Even started watching as far back as 1x01 (oooo scary I know) and finished strong until 7x05 while everyone was still on the mid season break.
Me watching from pilot up to the current episode has been a roller coaster ride and I just want to thank the moots for making it fun along the way and I hope we all get to be with each other to see this relationship through even after they break up (but I really hope not), because sharing this space with the toxic bestie boos after the fact would be a nightmare, so yeah, thank you.
Yeah, just… Thanks, for everything. Don’t take this as a goodbye from me. LMAO. I’m not going anywhere, I’m just saying my thanks, but I have to point out. Y’all saw that didn’t you? What I wrote? Well if you didn’t, it’s on the first letter of every paragraph. Hope you enjoyed what I had to say in my tiny emotional kind-of-rant and also to my hidden message. Good night BuckTommy nation! 🙂

disclaimer: i have absolutely nothing to back this up and my opinion will probably change with the next bit of info we get.
my wildly unfounded speculation for today is that i don't think the tension from the basketball incident is going to continue after that episode. right now i think they're going to make up about that in 704. maybe in the gym scene?
if the loft scene does involve buck coming out to eddie then i don't think that's going to happen in the same conversation as buck apologising and them making up. i think eddie is going to figure out something is up with him (maybe he spots him out at that date spot with someone he didn't expect?) and buck is probably going to get in his head about sharing this new part of himself and it will end with the loft scene in 705.
We've seen how the 118 are a family inside of work but also outside of work, and he'll definitely lean on some of them and open up to some of them, and maybe in a way that he feels a little bit nervous about at first because he's not quite sure how some of his choices are going to be taken. [x]
i think this quote from oliver fits pretty perfectly with that idea.

Year in Review: Favorite Lines
tagged by @iboatedhere. thank you!
RULES: Share your top three/top five/however many favorite snippet(s)/line/quotes/paragraphs from your published fics (or wips, I don’t care!) and don’t forget to share the link of course!
One each from Knave 2 and Knave 3 because they're in conversation with each other.
The Knave of Hearts . . . he said he'd steal no more
“You didn't steal me, TK,” he says softly. “I’m here because I want to be, eyes open, and my choice. You didn’t con me, and I don’t want anything from you except you.”
TK’s hand tightens on his shirt, and he laughs faintly. “You say that like it isn’t everything.”
The Knave of Hearts . . . brought back the tarts
“I’m sorry I couldn’t keep the Leyendecker for you.” She laughs ruefully, “I saw it and I couldn’t help myself, I know how much you loved it, how much it tore at you that you had to give it up for me. I’m sorry I couldn’t give it back to you.”
TK’s voice is amused. “I went straight, Jack, I couldn’t have kept it anyway.” He pauses. “And it turns out I don't need it as much anymore. I have the real thing now, I don’t need to look at a painting of a possibility.”
“You’re really happy?” She sounds dubious, but willing to be convinced.
“I really am. I love my job. I love Carlos. I love the life I have here. I know it’s not what either one of us imagined, because I didn’t know how to imagine this. But I’m not running anymore, not from or to. I think I’ve found where I’m supposed to be.”
We Were in Screaming Color (Chpt 1 & Chpt 11)
okay, so I love this partly because I put this in Chapter 1 so I could have a pay off in Chapter 11. I don't know if anyone else remembered that 11 chapters later, but it was on purpose and I like the symmetry.
Chapter 1
Once, staring at his ceiling gritty-eyed and unable to sleep during the endless months after he bought the loft, he’d cataloged the way TK uses pet names; a grim taxonomy of words he thought he’d forfeited the right to hear.
Babe is casual. It's a substitute for his name. It's an interjection, or the exclamation point to a sentence.
Baby is more intimate. Sometimes it’s teasing, and sometimes it’s serious, but it’s always affectionate.
TK had tried darlin' once and promptly made a face and admitted he didn't have the drawl he needed to pull that off.
Sweetheart is only ever for the two of them, soft and private.
Always Carlos, unadorned, when TK wants to be sure Carlos is listening, when TK needs to be sure that Carlos understands that what he's saying is important.
Hearing TK say babe now is a relief. TK wouldn't be using it if things were broken.
Chapter 11
TK still looks troubled. “I don’t want to lose you to this. I don’t want you to let this eat at you. I get that you want answers, but what happens if you can’t get them? When do you stop looking?”
“Not yet,” he snaps. “It’s barely been a week, and nobody else seems to even be asking the question, let alone looking for an answer. He deserves better than that. He gave his entire life to the Rangers, don’t they owe him something in return?”
“Carlos, no.” And TK’s words are gentle, but his tone is sharp, sharper than TK usually is. “Your dad lived for his family, not for his job. At the funeral, the people who showed up came for your mom, for your sisters, for you, because your dad’s legacy isn’t his work, it’s his family. Don’t take that away from him.”

Dar Reads Lady Knight: Ch. 4
I decided to test out a new system of reading the chapter in full and then making this post, which worked out really well until I forgot to go back and make the post. So! Here it is at last.
I always love the title of this chapter: Kel Takes Command. She finally gets to put the skills she learned into action.
aalkdfljasf Kel's flag! I feel like this is such an underrated emotional moment. I know it makes me Feel Things when the camp posts her personal flag since she is now the commanding officer.
Lots of description of the camp's layout and the surrounding terrain. Props to Tammy for including this and knowing which features are important from a defense standpoint.
"Wyldon had given her no advice about how to actually take command, and this man seemed determined to dump everything in her lap at once" (pg. 81). Poor Kel, lol.
Another little nod to her role as the protector of the small when she's talking to the captain. "His manner itched her, though. He didn't talk about others as if they were human, only animals to be driven" (pg. 84).
I love how Kel has grown to the point where she doesn't bother listening to what the men say about her. She knows they'll either respect her or they won't, so she's not going to waste her energy trying to convince them she deserves it.
Dom's back! At least for a little bit.
I love her camaraderie with Wolset and Fulcher, too.
"It was me that thought of it,' Corporal Wolset said. 'And you what nearly ruined the embroidering,' retorted Corporal Fulcher" (pg. 89). I forgot about this little exchange about Kel's flag. It made me laugh.
I love when she addresses her men for the first time. She's so nervous but she's going to give it her best shot or die trying.
Her feelings re: the convict soldiers are really telling about who she is. Her predecessor treated them like dirt and gave them only the minimum they need to survive, but Kel intends to make sure they're fed and clothed properly. Bless her.
Her conversation with Gil Lofts about the raid on the bandits when she was a page is another favorite moment of mine. The fact that one of the convict soldiers can vouch for her does wonders for her reputation with the others who don't know her.
"I'm not sure that being known for gutting a man is exactly a recommendation for a commander" (pg. 95). I love her humor and how she chooses to look at things.
"You all know why we're here. You know the enemy. He will be on us soon. When he comes, we will fight not for some glorious cause, but to survive. The gods have given us time to prepare, and we must take advantage of every moment of it" (pg. 95). I know I already talked about this quote in my first post, but it's one of my top five Kel quotes. It's just her. Pragmatic, straightforward, doesn't patronize the people she's addressing. Brilliant.
Haven! The mudpit now has a name! Once again, naming it that is another prime example of a Kel Moment.
Chapter five post coming soon! I've already read through it, so ideally I'll get the post squared away shortly.

Okay so I saw you answer an ask about Bobby treating/viewing Hen as a peer more so than any other FireFam character we’ve seen, and it was beautiful, so I’m wondering if you have thoughts on Maddie raising Buck.
It’s mentioned by Buck and Eddie that Maddie was the one to raise him, (Maddie references it indirectly when she’s talking to Bobby and Athena-I can’t remember the exact quote, but they’d just saved the impromptu kidnapped via illegal C-Section baby and her mother-and in response to a comment about raising someone for 18 years Maddie replies “18? Buck’s 28 and I still feel like I have my hands full”-It also says a lot that there’s no visible reaction (that I remember anyways) from Bobby or Athena after that statement) and it was shown verbatim in the Buck Begins flashbacks, but one of my favorite scenes where this plays out in their present day as adults is shortly after her return in Season 5B, when Buck confessed to her about “asking Taylor to move in with me was the second stupid thing I did recently” and obviously there’s talk about his trauma from being left behind, but what sticks out to me is the look on her face/tone of voice/her body language, and BUCK’S response to Maddie asking “What was the first (stupid thing you did)?”
That wasn’t a woman asking her younger (but still adult) brother what he did, it’s not how I would ask my younger brother what stupid thing he did, it was very much a MOTHER’S way of asking her SON what stupid thing he did, and Buck’s response was very much a (I don’t want Mom to know but she’s gonna figure it out and I can’t lie to her) sort of thing and I LOVE that 9-1-1 showed us that and I hope they continue to give us little insights into their relationship like this and I would really appreciate your thoughts on this, and on their relationship in general.
So sorry for the long ass ask!
Okay, firstly, sorry it took me so long to answer this, but rl is so crazy and this is such an important topic of the show and I wanted to make sure I could give time to answer it!
no need to apologize for the long ass ask, because I will provide a long ass answer *blows kiss*
Let me start off by saying that the best thing this show ever did, my FAVORITE thing this show ever did, was introduce Maddie in s2, giving Buck a family and providing such beautiful and expansive depth to his character. s1 owns my heart, and it always will, but there was just something missing for Buck's character for me, and Maddie took the show to a whole new level. Literally cannot believe 9-1-1 ever existed without her in it.
Maddie is a wonderfully complex character. I have ALL the thoughts on Maddie raising Buck, because she did, no two ways around it. He is her little brother but it's more than that. I think in one episode she implies she changed his diapers and gave him baths. I mean, she was there from the beginning, because she had to be, because she knew the truth of his existence. There is as much tragedy in this as there is beauty.
The thing is, Maddie's story could have gone differently. She could have grown to resent Buck. She could have gotten lost in her own grief. She could have sought any way to escape her family and cut ties so she wouldn't have to deal with it anymore. Because, let's face it, Maddie had to grow up fast and early. We find out she suffered from depression from an extremely young age. She had no support system, no parental affirmation or guidance, and then we see the open chasm in her life where the love was supposed to go get filled by Doug. Maddie did the best she could to make sure that didn't happen to Buck. She saw the same gaping chasm in her brother and always, always tried to make sure she could fill it with her own love, the kind he'd never get from his parents.
Maddie and Buck may be grown now but that dynamic doesn't go away. When they had the conversation in Buck's loft where he was like "Jee isn't the first kid you've raised, that was me," OH that hit me square in the chest, because she needed to hear that. I'm sure she considers that time of her life to largely be a failure on her part, and she doesn't always recognize how crucial she was to Buck turning out the way he did, still so loving and kind and hopeful. I think she finally got it in that moment. It was beautiful.
The show has definitely given us some amazing moments, and I do hope they continue to highlight the importance of their relationship, even as they start to build their own family units separate from each other. They will always be there for each other no matter what, they will always have each other's backs no matter what happens (and I mean NO MATTER WHAT, I don't think there is anything Buck could do that Maddie wouldn't try to help him with/out of, and vice versa).
Exquisite ask, thank you so much! I haven't gotten a chance to exercise my meta skills in a while, hope I'm not too out of practice!
xoxoxo

THE A IS FOR ALLY: A STRANGER THINGS FIC (STEDDIE) PT 2
After his friends come out one by one, Steve settles comfortably into his new role as an ally. He moves to the city with Robin, joins groups, attends protests, even takes a gender studies class.
Then in 1991 Eddie comes crashing back into his life.
If you'd have asked seventeen year old Eddie Munson who he imagined he'd name as his best friend when he grew up, prissy Nancy Wheeler wouldn't have appeared on the longlist, let alone at the number one spot.
But living with her they had developed a friendship unlike any he had before.
It had taken a while. She wasn't the most forthcoming person, she was hard around the edges, something built up from years of grief, loss and having to be the smartest, most capable person in the room, but he kinda loved that about her. She suffered no fools. Yet she respected him, Eddie, who grew up feeling like an idiot, repeating senior year three times, Nancy Wheeler liked him for his intelligence, for his conversation.
They had started hanging out almost by necessity. Robin and Steve still committed to going on dates once a week, leaving the loft and heading off on adventures together. Sometimes it was as simple as a coffee, but often they'd come back covered in paint after attending a protest of some kind, or return with tales of how Robin had attempted and failed to steal a monkey from Indianapolis zoo, a story he never really got to the bottom of.
Their weekly adventures left Nancy and Eddie at a bit of a loss without their natural buffers. Nancy, being the more organized of the two had come to him with an offer. They'd try out their own dates. One to begin with to see what they actually had in common, beyond the obvious, then more in the future if the first one worked out.
They agreed to start small with a coffee date.
Nancy met him there from work, sat down opposite him, spine straight, hands clasped in front of her, her purse to her side. “I thought we could play twenty questions.”
Eddie laughed, "Jesus, Wheeler. Is this a date or an interview?"
She smiled a sly smile at him, "There's a difference?"
He laughed again. “So what are the rules of this date-slash-interview?”
“We ask twenty questions between us, ten each. You can’t ask what you’ve been asked and no follow-up questions.” She paused, then pointed at him, ”And we get increasingly personal the longer we go on.” Eddie grinned. This could be fun.
Nancy started. “What’s your favorite color?”
“Yellow?”
“Not black?”
“No. No follow-up questions. Favorite musician?”
“Blondie. What book have you read that stayed with you?”
“March 3rd 86 edition of Newsweek,” he joked. Nancy threw him a look. He put on a voice and quoted, “The Devil has come to America, ” then laughed, "I mean, obviously it's Lord of The Rings. Favorite contemporary musician”
“You.”
“Funny.”
“I dunno, Guns N Roses” Eddie raised an eyebrow and she shrugged. “What did you want to be when you grew up?”
“A firetruck.”
“Like a fireman?”
“No, just a firetruck. Spent weeks on end running around wailing at the top of my voice. No wonder my parents got rid of me.” Nancy winced, but no follow-ups.
“What did you want to be?”
“No repeats. You’re breaking the rules of the game already.”
“What can I tell you, I’m not a fan of authority. Answer the question.”
“A journalist. Unsurprisingly, I’m pretty single minded. Do you think your life would have been different if you'd graduated the first time round?"
"Yes. I'd never have met Chrissy."
"Shit."
"Yeah. What did you like the most about Barb?"
"That's a nice one.” Nancy took her time to answer. “She was always watching out for me even when I wasn't watching out for myself. Do you still dream about it"
"The Upside Down? Of course. Do you wish it had never happened?"
"Of course," she responded immediately and then thought for a little longer, "Some parts of it. Maybe not others."
"Which parts?"
"No follow up questions," she smirked. "Would you have done anything differently if you could do it again?"
"No. I don't think so. Running back to fend off the bats bought you more time. Sad I missed out on the finale though. Do you think your mum had an affair with Billy Hargrove?"
"Low blow, Munson. I know there were rumors. No, I don't think she did. I do think she wanted to. What happened with your parents?"
Eddie shrugged. "They didn't want me, Wayne did. How old were you when you lost your virginity?"
"Sixteen. Steve Harrington."
"Cute."
"Shut up. When did you realize you were gay?"
"Probably about fourteen, Magnum PI."
"Tom Sellek?"
"No follow up questions."
"That's not a question, I'm just surprised."
"What made you fall in love with Robin?"
"No one thing. She's just Robin."
"Cop out answer, but accepted."
"Next question. Tom Sellek?"
Eddie laughed, "It was the chest hair. I'm a sucker for overt masculinity. Question eighteen. When did you stop loving Steve?"
She smiled, "Romantically, probably a few months before we broke up my junior year. But I'll never stop loving him, not properly. We weren't right together, and what I have with Robin now is obviously so much better in every way. But he'll always be my first love. That means something."
Eddie smiled at her, stirred his coffee, "Your question now."
"When did you?"
"When did I what?" He knew what she was asking but he wanted to buy himself a bit of time.
"When did you stop loving Steve?"
“I thought repeating questions was against the rules.”
She smiled, “I think we've both broken that one."
He considered lying, considered asking surprised, asking what she meant. Despite how many questions he'd answered already, this one was different, this one wasn't in the past. Then he realized he'd left the silence to hang for too long. That was an answer in itself. He looked at her.
"Even now?" She asked. She didn't sound all that surprised.
He shrugged, "Even now."
"That sucks. I'm sorry."
Eddie laughed, "It's fine. It really is. You said, right. You're never going to really stop loving him? Maybe nobody does? Maybe once Steve Harrington finds his way under your skin he just stays there."
"Like a parasite."
"God, the hottest parasite I've ever seen." Nancy's laugh was a little snort. Cute. They watched each other for a beat.
"Final question. The most personal question in the world. What would win in a fight, a badger or a baboon."
Nancy laughed again. "Are we talking European badger or Honey Badger here?" She asked.
It was Eddie's turn to laugh this time. ”There’s a difference?”
They continued their dates. Any time Robin and Steve set off on their adventures, Nancy and Eddie would head for coffee, or something a little stronger. Their conversations would mostly revolve around asking each other increasingly perplexing questions about life, the universe and everything, but every once in a while, Nancy would ask about Steve. Check how Eddie was doing. He appreciated having somebody to talk to.

hi !! for the ask game, 13, 23 and 37, pretty please~
13. What is a subject matter that is incredibly difficult for you write about? What is easy?
uhhh yeah! not to get too personal on main, but i just like. cannot write about kids' relationships with their fathers. the closest i got was a few scenes with Hopper and Will in irresistible, and even then i wrote them mainly as jokes, but they ended coming across as really sincere to people? like people in general were like "aw Hopper and Will bonding is great!" which is cool, but i didn't know how to explain that i wrote those scenes mostly as jokes to hide the fact that i don't like/can't write scenes between fathers and children at all
easy to write? apparently conversations about "but what's the point of doing these things if it's all gonna go away in the end" since it keeps sneaking into every single thing i write :) it'd be fun if i could learn to talk about something else, but we'll see, i guess
23. Describe the physical environment in which you write. Be as detailed as possible. Tell me what’s around you as you work. Paint me a picture.
picture a walmart desk i bought on discount for $40. picture a loft bed from walmart that i've had since i was eleven. picture said-desk under said-bed. ok? cool. now, behind the desk, there's a bookshelf i put together my junior year of high school, but i'm horrible at building things, so two of its boards are noticeably upside down, but hey, at least i have some stickers on one side of the unit, right? its shelves are sagging with reference books and books i have yet to read, and more litter the floor right behind my chair. oh yeah, my chair - it's not a desk chair. it's one of our dining room chairs that i took over during my covid semester in spring 2020 when i had to come home from school. i have a jack skellington pillow i use with it because otherwise it hurts my back. my desk is cluttered, but my desk has been cluttered every since i was a kid, so what else is new? there's scratch paper and sticky notes all over it, mail from my new job that i should really look at, mail from my beloved friends, and an old candle holder i've repurposed as a pen holder. to my right is my corkboard with all kinds of fun stuff that would take eons to describe, so just picture cards, photos, a couple of tiny bells/windchimes, and art. i've also got some fall out boy and owl city cds i've fastened to the wall to watch over me forever
oh, and pinned up in front of my desk are a few fun things: a BTS poster, a postcard with a Van Gogh quote on it, some art from Chloe Gong's These Violent Delights, an Ouran High School Host Club poster, and a passage from It by Stephen King that I made a photocopy of when I was reading it last year.
37. If you were to be remembered only by the words you’ve put on the page, what would future historians think of you?
hmmm......i think once i've passed on, if anything i've written gets passed down in any way whatsoever, i think people will be able to tell i liked observing things. like i don't talk a lot, but i watch and listen to as much as i can. so...yeah. perhaps "observant" would be the word i'm looking for (despite my own obliviousness towards lots of things, but that's a different subject matter entirely :^D)
thanks for the ask anon!! i hope you're doing well :D 💜

Introduction Looking for a reliable builders in Dagenham or anywhere across London can feel overwhelming with the number of options available. But finding a trustworthy team that offers quality and efficient building services is key to a successful project. Whether you’re planning a home extension, remodeling, or a completely new build, it’s essential to choose a company that aligns with your needs and expectations.
In this guide, we’ll break down everything you need to know about finding reputable Dagenham builders and building services in London.
Why Choosing the Right Builder Matters?
Choosing the right builder doesn’t just affect the final look of your project; it impacts your entire experience, timeline, and budget. A professional builder will help streamline your project, ensure compliance with local regulations, and bring expertise to solve any challenges that arise along the way.
Here are a few reasons why finding a reputable Dagenham builder is so important:
Professionalism and Experience: Seasoned builders can anticipate issues and find solutions faster.
Quality Assurance: A good builder will deliver a high-quality finish that stands the test of time.
Transparent Pricing: Trustworthy builders provide clear estimates and keep you informed of any changes.
Regulatory Compliance: Working with professionals ensures compliance with London's building regulations.
What to Look for in a Dagenham Builder?
1. Experience and Specialization Not all builders are created equal, and finding one with specific experience in your type of project is crucial. Some builders specialize in residential projects like loft conversions or house extensions, while others focus on commercial builds. Ask potential builders about their past work and whether they have handled similar projects to yours.
2. Reputation and Reviews A builder’s reputation speaks volumes. Look for online reviews, customer testimonials, or even request references from past clients. Positive feedback from previous projects is often a reliable indicator of a builder's quality and reliability.
3. Licensing and Insurance In London, building projects need to comply with certain codes and regulations. Make sure your builder is licensed and insured, as this protects you in case of any accidents or issues that may arise during the project.
4. Clear and Transparent Pricing The last thing you want is an unexpected bill at the end of your project. Reliable Dagenham builders provide detailed quotes and are transparent about potential costs that could arise during the building process.
Services Offered by Dagenham Builders
1. Home Extensions One of the most popular services offered by Dagenham builders is home extensions. Whether you need extra space for a growing family or just want to enhance your property’s value, a well-planned home extension is a great solution. Builders in London typically offer a range of extension options, including rear, side, and wrap-around extensions.
2. Loft Conversions Loft conversions are a fantastic way to increase your home's value by turning unused attic space into a practical, functional room. A skilled builder will help you design and implement a loft conversion that suits your home’s structure and meets London’s building regulations.
3. Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling Updating your kitchen or bathroom can significantly boost your home's appeal and functionality. Many builders in Dagenham offer specialized remodeling services that include everything from layout changes to plumbing upgrades, ensuring a hassle-free transformation.
4. New Builds If you’re looking to start fresh with a new build, reputable Dagenham builders can handle your project from start to finish. From design to planning permission and construction, a qualified builder can make the entire process much smoother.
Common Questions to Ask Your Builder
1. What Similar Projects Have You Worked on Recently? Asking for similar experience allows you to gauge how well a builder can handle your specific needs. Past projects can also offer inspiration and ideas for your own project.
2. Can You Provide a Detailed Quote? A good builder will give you a comprehensive quote that covers labor, materials, and any additional costs that may come up. Be sure to ask if there are any potential “hidden” costs.
3. How Long Will the Project Take? Timelines are crucial, especially if you’re working on a strict schedule. Knowing your builder’s expected timeframe can help you manage expectations and plan accordingly.
4. What Are Your Health and Safety Protocols? Safety is essential on any construction site, and your builder should prioritize it. Inquiring about their safety practices can also give you peace of mind about their professionalism.
Tips for Choosing the Best Dagenham Builders in London
1. Do Your Research Before committing, take the time to research several builders in Dagenham. Look at reviews, portfolios, and even consider asking for a consultation to get a feel for their approach and expertise.
2. Compare Quotes It’s always wise to get quotes from multiple builders. This helps you understand the market rate and gives you a chance to evaluate which builder offers the best value for money.
3. Check Their Qualifications A builder’s credentials can often tell you a lot about their reliability. Ask if they are part of any trade associations, as members of reputable organizations often adhere to strict standards.
Red Flags to Watch Out for
While many builders are trustworthy professionals, there are a few red flags to watch out for:
Vague Quotes: If a builder is unwilling to give you a detailed quote, it may lead to unexpected costs down the road.
Poor Communication: Effective communication is key for a smooth project. If a builder is difficult to reach or doesn’t respond promptly, it could indicate future issues.
Lack of Transparency with Previous Work: Trustworthy builders are usually proud of their past work and happy to share examples. Be wary if a builder is hesitant to provide references or show you their portfolio.
Conclusion: Ready to Start Your Project?
Finding a reputable builder in Dagenham doesn’t have to be overwhelming. By asking the right questions, comparing your options, and looking out for red flags, you can partner with a builder who will bring your vision to life. With a trustworthy Dagenham builder, you’ll have peace of mind knowing your project is in capable hands, and the result will be a space that adds both beauty and value to your property.
Whether you’re planning a small renovation or a large-scale project, selecting the right building services in London will set you up for success. So why wait? Start your search today and bring your dream project to reality with the best Dagenham builders by your side!

Scaffolding
Scaffolding is a temporary structure that supports construction workers and allows them to work at height. It is commonly used on skyscrapers and other tall buildings, but it also is important for maintenance work such as painting and cleaning windows. Depending on the type of building, scaffolding may be made from wood or steel. It is generally erected by trained and licensed erectors, who have the necessary knowledge of the building’s construction and safety standards. One of the most common causes of scaffolding accidents is poor construction. This can include using unsuitable materials for the job or ignoring construction and safety standards. Additionally, weather can make working at height dangerous. Rain or snow can cause planks to slip, and temperature changes can affect the structural integrity of the scaffolding. Another significant cause of scaffolding accidents is a lack of proper training. Workers must be trained in the specific types of scaffolding they use, and should receive ongoing training to prevent unsafe practices.
Teachers use a teaching technique called scaffolding to help students understand new lessons and concepts. The strategy involves offering lessons in distinct segments and gradually reducing the support as students master the material. This approach can be used at any age level, and it can benefit students of all abilities.
