The New Elizabeth Line stations interiors are like something out of star wars. I can definitely see them using one of the new stations for a sci-fi movie

A Location Scout
Yesterday I took a trip down to the southern coast of England. I was location scouting for a short film I'm currently creating. Though to be honest, only the first 2 hours of the trip were spent doing this on my 6 hour journey. (Left around 7:30am and returned at 4pm). I needed a good spot for a very specifically framed beach scene. I found it immediately but I couldn't go back just yet, I spent an hour and a half getting there. So I decided to do a bit of extra location scouting for a field scene, which I had already location scouted but no spots were favourable, they were just useable.
So, I would along the cliff coast for about 3 or so miles. I found some really nice spots for the field scene that I think I'll use. The cliffs were foreboding. It was sunny enough in the morning but you could see the wind carrying a dark cloud toward the coast. I would experience this later. Although, I've always been most comfortable in and around water. I'm always at peace or I experience a true sense of rest. I often spend long periods of the time in the shower or a bath, where my mind just wanders to a million different places. The positivity/negativity of these thoughts vary wildly but most of the time they're expelled by the time I leave the water.
Anyway, I was walking along the coast. Passed a few other souls, exercised the typical British hiking hello, had a few dogs approach me which I had missed. It never happens in London. I eventually got to the next town over from where I had started, I had exhausted all the fields next to the cliffs. I took a short break in the town, had lunch. People did look at me a bit strangely, whilst I feel I was dressed for the climate, I don't think I was dressed for the culture. Most people who do walking in these areas wear jackets with soft innards and plastic skin as to stop getting wet. Their trousers usually follow the same formula, if not just standard blue jeans. I was wearing oversized carpenters trousers, a green woollen jumper and a green button up shirt underneath. Not to mention my pride docs but they were unrecognisable as they had been covered in mud, though that may have also added to it. Most of the people in this area were much older than I, I don't think I spotted a single person my age on this journey. However, that depends on how you define my age.
At this point, I had a choice to make. Do I continue along the coast till I reached Brighton (2 hours 30 minutes of walking), or do I venture into the countryside and look for more fields, until I reached another train station (about 3 hours of walking). I chose the latter option because I had time to kill and I failed to mention earlier that there was a monstrous wind that day, so I wanted at least the hills to lessen the blow.
I started walking, I got to the edge of the town and crossed into farmers roads. Despite my disliking for farmers fields, due to my disliking of the whole meat industry (not to mention how countless ecosystems have been destroyed in the creation of farmers fields). It is more natural than the royal parks in London. I just kept walking, through plenty of mud and sheep's fields and such. The beauty of the rolling hills was humbling. It made me feel very hopeful, especially since I was traversing it. I think I could get used to a nomadic lifestyle.
Then, that foreboding cloud came to visit. I knew it was going to rain, whilst I had no cover, I don't mind getting wet. This was not rain. It was hail, about the size of pin heads, bombarding my neck and ears. It didn't help that it caught me whilst I was in the open. Right in the middle of a field. I had to just keep walking. Eventually, after following a road for a short while, I came upon a village bus stop. I took shelter there till the hail stopped. Which was about a minute after I had taken shelter. Just my luck. The only issue was, I had books in my backpack. They were mildly wet but they dried off plenty later.
Though, I have only just considered what might have happened if someone from around this area had caught me with my copy of Naked Lunch, or a day in the life of Ivan Denisovich. Most people in areas like this, are normal everyday people, if not a little posh. However, that mythical stereotypical older traditional folk (which do exist, I have witnessed it myself) would be appalled at the filth I carry. Though these worries are completely baseless as nobody in this area would ever approach me for a serious conversation, let alone bear the weather for it.
This village would be my final stop, as luckily it had a train station with 2 platforms going opposite directions. Luckily, 1 of those directions was where I needed to be. Though, the trains were hourly and I had just missed the last one, so I'd be waiting around for a little while.
At this point I tallied how much I had walked today, I kept track of where I had walked but never the distance. Time and distance aren't your friend on long walks. If you keep too close an eye on the time it'll pass with the seconds, if you don't, hours can go by with the movements of the sun. The same applies to distance (in essence, stay away from quantitative elements when you're trying to pass the time). It's also the same reason there's no clocks/windows in casinos. In all, I walked around 10 miles. Which was probably the longest I had ever walked in that time period (at least that I have measured). Don't get me wrong, I am an avid walker. I have been known to wander for hours on ends on the streets of new cities. But, the hills, the mud, the hail and the livestock made this day plenty exciting for me. I had also found some scenic spots for my film. I then went home, cleaned my clothes (docs still pending) and took a short break before starting the storyboards with my cinematographer.
All in all, a pretty productive day.

in minecraft, wherever you set up your mineshaft immediately becomes your home base. you can go off and build another base somewhere, or take over a nearby village, but as soon as that staircase or shaft reaches diamond level and starts to branch out, that is your HOME and you do NOT move your main resource supplies from that area. you expand, sure, and go on adventures for rare resources, but you always, ALWAYS return to your first mineshaft location.
i've played this game for a decade and this is, without fail, the most consistent part of everyone's play style. the only time people ever move from their mineshaft is either because their base was griefed on a server, or they had another plan they made beforehand... but that's it. first mineshaft = home, without fail.
