Working on a lil guy! :) He's not finished yet, can you guess what I'm trying to make? The first pic is a little trick I always do when hexing something- you set the Little one lnz from (whatever)kit.lnz or (whatever)pup.lnz to just reference the adult lnz. That way they come out of the AC looking like adults so you don't have to age them up every time you're checking on a WIP! OBVS you change it back when you're done so they can grow ;-)

English Springer Spaniel

Haven't posted in a few days, not because I've not been doing things, but more so because I've been doing so much. (Plus two of those days I had a migraine, so concentration to words isn't very easy.)

Anyway, I had been on the hunt for OW for a dalmatian file.

I have this pup, Kloa, from my old hard drive. She's listed as a 2nd gen purebred Dalmatian born on 1/23/2002. Her Dam was Chloe adopted on 8/8/2000 and her sire was Dusk adopted on 2/20/2001. She was bred by Firebird @ MKC.

I figured she was a spaniel of some kind. I've been scouring old websites and the Wayback Archive. All that and Petz Life Discord archives. I did finally come across a similar looking dog and KingHarry on PL discord said that poster was still active. Low and behold, Lily still had that file.

Except hers was a non-overwrite. It looked close, it had white eyebrows and maybe the scale was a bit different.

So I still searched.

Did a second spelunking and came across a folder labeled "Sunshine English Springer Spaniel." Inside was a Dalmatian.dog file. It didn't work in Petz 4 which is the folder it was inside. I was pretty sure this was my file. But now I had a name!

Searching the name netted me this way back page. Down at the very bottom looks to be the same looking dog as the file Lily had given me. I bet this was my file! But, this page says it was for Dogz 2!

I tried converting my old file to a unibreed, but that didn't work. And while I could have used the non-overwrite that Lily had given me, I wanted an overwrite version.

So I made a breed file out of a Kloa's pet file. (I liked the non-white eyebrows better).

Then I started adding variations.

10 different eye colors, linked eyelids, a brown nose for the brown coat, and a coat in either white and brown or white and black. The spots are static, though. Same every time in either color. So I don't feel it's release-able quite yet. I don't know how well they breed yet, either.

I kinda pleased with it. I mean, it's not my work, not from scratch, but I did do the LNZ variation work by hand. Trial and error with a couple of tutorials.

I've been spending a lot of time in the discord servers: Petz Life, Petzcord, and Petz Show Club, and a bit of time on Whiskerwick, RKC, and Duke's Group forums.

I haven't made any more progress on my Dali Locations A-H line, but I've breed a few others. (And adopted a handful more, oops?) I should really figure out how to share the Airtable page properly. Or at least link the other tabs so you can see more than just my cats. And I have quite a backlog of stamps to make.

So I originally saw this post from Spadepetz with this wheatley Petz model, and I was like: whattt I want one

so I went through the pain of downloading petz on my 64 bit computer (which was mostly hard for me because I can’t read) and learning how to hex in pws and lnz and well…. it’s finished for the most part

I’ll try to get better pics soon but these are mostly just screenshots from this vid

i was thinking about re-texturing them but that’s a whole ‘nother bag of treats so I think I’ll try and work on another project to clear my mind (yes that includes more petzposting)

Default AC Name: Space (Dog) or Dark (Cat)

Hexed From: Great Dane (Dog) and Desert Lynx (Cat)

Reasoning: I love the vibes of a pet with pitch black irises, and wanted to get a pet I could use to pass them down, but it's a ridiculously rare mutation in Petz 5, and when it does happen it's never inheritable! So I made a pet that has black eyes, as well as black fur purely for the Careful What You Wish For aspect. Are you willing to take the chance of completely screwing up your pet's look for the sake of a bit of aesthetic pleasure? I know I am!

Variations: Three of each (black eyes, red eyes, yellow eyes)

(Lol I can barely see them against my Tumblr theme. Goth rave for the win.)

In hindsight, I'm not sure why I didn't make heterochromatic variants of these. I'm sure I wanted to implement it but couldn't for whatever reason, since a pet with two different eyes of yellow, red, or black would be cool. Maybe that'll be my next upgrade. (I could also always fake it with LNZ Pro.)

I made the Voiddog from a Great Dane for the lanky proportions, and the Voidcat is a Desert Lynx hexie purely because the ear tufts are my favourite cat feature. Looks like they kept their breeds' personalities.

(I remember the Voidcat being more finicky to hex for some reason? Probably a Pet Workshop glitch to be honest.)

Voids with red or yellow eyes don't pass down perfect red or yellow, instead passing down cherry or sandy eyes. Here's some examples crossed with a Papillon for the dog and a Tabby for the cat.

Also, apparently Tabby stripes can be put onto a Void, but only if said Void doesn't have the pitch black fur. Kind of looks like a weird reverse tiger, actually.

Part 2 of Basic Hexing Gen 1 Tutorial.

Okay so last time, on PART 1 We were coloring our golden retreiver.

If you haven't read through Part 1 I recomend going BACK with this link and doing so.

Dont forget to rotate the modle so you don't miss any ballz, they like hiding.

If you want to change the tongue and whiskers(chihuahuas and catz) you'll have to select them on the left ballz selector and hit they apply all. They're too hidden to see in PW

In your left handed tabs hit the eyes. These squares will let you change eye colors and eyelid color.

Now in the little drop down menu on the top menu we want to go to Paintballs!

The first thing you're going to do is select a ball you want to add a paint ball on. Notice everything that is a paintball is visble even on ballz not selected. This is good to see where you have paintballz since they can hide, but it also can be a pain in the butt if you have a lot of paint ballz(for example a paint ball merel or tortie) to see what you're doing.

On the top menu you want to hit the button that says "add"

I think by now we're familar with the color selecting in the bottom menu. Though, please note there are 2. One is for out lines. It's not common to put outlines on paintballz but it can most defitly be fun to do so! You can also choose if the paint ballyou're adding is above or under all the other paint ballz. ANd the size. SIZE is a percentage of the BALL IT IS BEING PUT ON. So a size 30 on the shoulder ball, is a lot bigger than one on a toe ball. The fuz is how smooth the lines are around the paint ball. The bigger the number the fuzzier it is. You will rotate the modle to change the position of the paint ball. When it is where you want it...

Hit that place button!

They're always a circle. If you want them to be lop sided you'll have to stack them.

Selecting the select again will let you select a new ball to add paint ballz too.

Got everything placed the way you want? GREAT! Remember to save the file. See the paint ballz covering the paw pads? The only reason I move the paw pads up above the other paint ballz.

Feel free to open the game and take a look at what you have so far! Please note that the paint ballz are not yet anchored so it's not 100% acurate.

Now we go back to LNZ! Also open the Anchor utility(TRUST ME! You don't want to anchor ballz by themselves!

So firs things firs, find your [Paint Ballz] Section in LNZ

You can divide them up using the semi colon method if you want so it looks more like this instead.

Now in anchor utility you're going to put each color number you used on the paint ballz you want anchored into one box per color of the "color selection"

Then you're going to put the desired textures, your texutre list can be found in lnz or in PW under the tab menue where it says texture. Your texture list starts at number 0 then add one for each line.

This file has 0, 1, and 2. In the "textured desired" collum you'll put the corresponding texture you want next to the boxes by the color. I want them all to have hair10 so I'm going to put "0". Note you can also do -1 as the texture if you want no texture.

From there you want to copy the paint ballz you want to anchor from LNZ(I cut them out of the file) and then paste them in the small box above where it says "anchor away!"

Then hit "Anchor Away!"

Copy and paste the whole big box back into LNZ from where you took it from!

If it gives you an extra blank line, delete it.

OH no something went wrong!

This was the mustashe. Which was 48 not any of the colors I chose. I know I want the mustashe to be a different color though! So I'll change it first.

Note this error will pop up for EVERY paintball that doesn't have a color in the list.

I mentioned I don't want the paint ballz on the toes over the toe beans, that means I'm going to select that entire selection and cut it. Then paste it again at the top.

So now the toe beans will be on top of every other paint ball.

There is one more thing I like to do with the nose before I finish. I don't like the nose having textures on any of the ballz. SO I go to the "ballz info" in lnz

I scroll down until it says "nose (bottom)"

That very last number? That's the texture. I change it to -1. AND DONE!

Don't forget to save your work before you close and bring your new pet out in game!

You will be getting them from the adoption center just like any other adoption!

And because of the image per post limit...watch out for post 3 which will have the final results!
