Anyhow, the timeline here would therefore lay as follows:

Everything up til the team crimson stuff is the same. Crimson shows up, hes scary, dani hungry for the championship shows up, kicks his ass, he possesses valentine and WOOPS the grunk dies, crimson approaches Dani offscreen and Dani, for whatever reason she was doing it at that point, accepts the team up offer.

The hiatus happens and theres some degree of bonding as team members which we don't know the details of but must have happened for Crimson to have gotten as attached to her as he's played when the betrayal happens. He potentially already was somewhat open with her about his familial relationships in canon in this span of time, judging from the fact Dani immediately recognizes who Cobalt must be when she shows up to team calibur HQ for presumably the first time since 20 and he arrives to challenge her.

The point of divergence- at some point Crimson lets slip the real nature of his and Prism's relationship much much earlier somehow, and like in ncct2, Dani's conflicted- he's clearly a victim of something awful, AND hes very much killed someone.

Iggy approaches Dani asking her to use her apparent closeness to Crimson to get him to fuck off out of his tournament after he was forced by his debt with Cobalt to let the brat live where he wouldve wiped him out entirely. But, like in ncct2 and onward, Dani presses forward with trying to genuinely help him, pitying his situation despite her doubts.

The plan is simple- stage his death publically so he can hide from his abuser and do what he wants and- hopefully- have the chance to be and do better in hiding, AND Dani gets to reap the rewards of being the big hero that slays the monster. Crimson thinks 'hey, maybe this can actually work- if a character is dead, the narrative doesnt like. bother with them anymore, right? No use in screentime for a corpse' failing to consider that a death fakeout is the oldest trick in the book, and still keeping the whole 'we're not real people' thing to himself. It works, and dani bails, the internal conflict of her doubt left unresolved but the external one finished with enough to be put out of mind for the time being so long as she gets out of dodge.

For months, it actually technically DOES work- he hides out successfully for the entirety of season two- buuuuut, he got himself caught in Crimsonaut, which severely limits his options for what hes actually able to do with this new freedom of being unpercieved, and even explicitly intended to attempt a coup against Dr. Order with his position undercover in one of her experiments- he wouldve failed, as we know from folk, but I'd call that intention a good thing. particularly considering he explicitly thinks shes a freak for being the way she is, which leads me to assume that even in the canon version of events the coup plan wasn't ENTIRELY selfishly motivated. Meanwhile, speaking of The Time Being, Dani faces her first REAL fight against the power of a god, and she puts up a damn good effort- against an ultimately mortal woman who was just working with a charge of the stuff, but nonetheless ultimately fails. Trauma and the inevitable imposter syndrome of taking credit for and pretending to have meaningfully won a victory you hadn't and maybe couldn't congeal together with the unresolved doubt as she once again promptly bails.

But, Chartreuse and Folk knew where he was hiding and, intentionally or not, corner Crimson and make his survival explicitly known to the camera, and thus prism and the narrative and audience. Crimson scratches 'escape' off the list of ideas, as any peace earned this way is fragile and temporary. The futility of it all sets in a little deeper. The rest of Crimson's season 3 breakdown with the constants arc proceeds as normal, the return of the status quo digging into him a little worse because of the period of time where things were a little better, Cobalt's presence adding to the feeling of the bounds of his metaphorical cage growing more and more claustrophobic.

Dani learns from Cobalt that Crimson is Up-To-Something. The impulsive attempt at destabilizing the multiverse luckily fails at just the right time, crimson failing to fuck up at his own job. For most people, this attempt was expected crimson behavior. For Dani, this is a 'leopard cant change his spots' moment, a confirmation that she was wrong to give him the benefit of the doubt, because victim or not he'd taken the chance he was given and used it to do this, a mistake she'd made in sparing him kindness. He was always just a monster anyway. Infuriating. Disappointing. Perhaps, failing to understand how difficult and complicated it really can be to escape an abusive relationship- relapses happen, people get trapped, especially in circumstances with abusers as violently controlling as prism, willing to destroy your body to force you into compliance, who monitor your every move for judgement and especially in instances where an abuser can use their victim's flaws or mistakes against them, to isolate them, to make them persona non grata so they have no choice but to remain under their control.

From this point, Dani fully takes the whole godslayer reputation to heart- that thing with order barely counts, shes pulled off a win against all three of the REAL DEAL (nevermind the fact none of them were ever ACTUALLY shooting to kill, its all been performative fights, shes never ACTUALLY killed a god or even beaten one that wasn't holding back and she knows that and thats scary and kind of pisses her off,) shes the champion, shes on top, shes better than all this. But she still doesnt feel right. And thats when Prism comes in and she starts getting real up close and personally acquainted with what happened to the ciblings as Prism starts working her manipulations on her, and that added to the experiences of the past couple years are taking their toll.

And, as per canon, Crimson burns through every resource he has left in a final desperate useless last stand for control of his life after warning dani as subtly as possible despite Dani lashing out at him because Prism prodded at her trauma, dies on stage, pops back up in larry, finds out Prism had always made him to be evil, and goes and curls up miserably defeated in a hole somewhere too consumed by futility and doom to act.

Experiencing Prism fucking with her head personally and directly and altering reality and making her feel crazy and otherwise generally subjecting her to abuse and manipulation and then taking over her mind and body in the interest of grooming her into a new god in turn gives her the perspective she needs to doubt her stances again- no amount of willpower or ingenuity or just saying no or telling her to fuck off stopped it from happening to her too, and her own thoughtlessness is what made her vulnerable to that. if Prism WANTED Crimson to be a monster and had unlimited power to corner him into that box so long as she could exploit the flaws she'd raised him from the ground up to have, then what choice did he really ever have, and who could he be if he really did get a choice? What happens now? etcetera etcetera effectively the same questions the nccts already ask and answer from that point

Rules for the generations under the cut ✿

GENERATION ONE ✿

You were raised in the city by strict parents who pushed you to be the best student in school. Despite your ambitious nature you hated the fact that you had no autonomy or free time. When you became a young adult you packed up your belongings, your pet and your limited funds and you moved to the countryside. Your cottage is rundown and outdated…it’s going to take a lot of work (and money) to make it a home. You quickly realize you might not actually be cut out for this life, but you are too stubborn and proud to give up and move back in with your parents.

Traits: Squeamish, Ambitious, High Maintenance

Aspiration: Country Caretaker OR Freelance Botanist

Career: Start with a part time job and/or odd jobs until your sim ages up into an adult, then settle into a full time job of your choice. To make additional money, you can also sell harvestables from your garden or your farm animals (if you want to go down that route!)

Starting Out: Start in Henford-on-Bagley with your pet in a small, rundown cottage with 2-3 bedrooms. You can use money cheats at this point, but remember: small rundown cottage…don’t use those extra funds for nice appliances!! When your house is done, set your funds to 450.

Rules: 

Your lot must have the ‘simple living’ lot trait

Reach level 5 in: Handiness, Cooking and Gardening

Befriend a few locals

Meet and fall in love with an outdoorsy sim with a large tight knit family 

Spend every holiday with your partner’s family, and have a solid relationship with most (if not all) of them

Have 2 kids

Take a vacation for every sim’s birthday (if you can’t afford it, throw a birthday party on a public lot instead)

Renovate the cottage over time (get new appliances, wallpaper/flooring, etc.)

Optional Rules:

Play with the ‘off the grid’ lot trait

Max out Handiness, Cooking and/or Gardening

Make the sim’s parents and make them have a negative relationship 

GENERATION TWO ✿

You grew up in a small, quiet town. After hearing about your parent’s childhood in the city, you were inspired to give it a try. You say goodbye to your loving family and set out for San Myshuno. You find an apartment and a part time job, then you get a few roommates to help with the bills. When you are faced with an accidental pregnancy, your roommates rally in support.

Traits: Loyal, Creative, Slob

Aspiration: City Native OR Painter Extraordinaire

Career: Max out the Retail part time job before quitting and selling paintings full time

Starting Out: Move into an apartment in San Myshuno with 2-3 roommates (you can use the roommate feature but I recommend actually having them in the household!)

Rules:

Max the painting skill

Have Game Night, or something similar, once a week with your roomies

Have an accidental pregnancy after a one night stand (if your sim can’t become pregnant and the other sim can, move the baby into your household when they’re born!)

Raise your kid as a single parent (with the help of your roomies)

Once your child becomes a teen, move out into your own place (it could be in San Myshuno or another world)

Marry as an elder

Optional Rules: 

As an elder, marry the sim you had a one night stand with (that ultimately resulted in the birth of your child)

Become famous (because of your paintings)

GENERATION THREE ✿

Just as the expression goes, it took a village to raise you. You were a wild, rebellious child with a love for athletics. Even though you were surrounded by love as a kid (not just from your biological family, but from your parent’s roommates) you always wanted to have siblings. You end up marrying one of your childhood best friends and you settle down in a quiet neighborhood.

Traits: Family Oriented, Hot Headed, Athletic

Aspiration: Big Happy Family

Career: Athletic 

Starting Out: Move into a house in a world of your choice with your partner.

Rules:

Max the parenting skill and the athletic skill

Have 4 children

Reach the summit of Mt. Komorebi at some point in your life

Be a hands-on parent: play with your kids, build them a treehouse, throw birthday parties, be as involved as possible in their lives

Go through rough patches with your spouse due to your anger issues

Eventually decide to get a divorce after trying to make it work (or if you have RPO, you can opt for separation instead)

You and your ex-spouse must live on the same lot and continue to raise your kids together

Sleep in your workout shed in the backyard

Optional Rules:

Remarry your ex-spouse

Reach level 5 of the handiness skill

GENERATION FOUR ✿

Although you and your siblings were loved by your parents, the living situation after their divorce was not ideal. Because of that, you vowed to never get married. You head off to university immediately after graduation and start on your path toward success.

Traits: Ambitious, Noncommittal, Genius

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy OR Academic

Career: Business OR Politics

Starting Out: Enroll in University and move into a dorm

Rules:

Max the research and debate skill, and the logic skill

Reach the top of your career

Get the best possible grades throughout your life

Have at least two romantic relationships at all times…you are never faithful to one sim

Have two kids with two different partners

(Hesitantly) become official with one of your flings and move in together

When your partner proposes, reject them and have them move out

Go on a post-breakup trip with your kids to Sulani

Rarely discipline your children. In fact, rarely interact with them

Optional Rules:

Never retire

Move at least three times

GENERATION FIVE ✿

Growing up, your parent was pretty distant and you never had a great relationship with them. They were always working, talking about work, or spending time with their significant others. One of your favorite memories of your childhood was your trip to Sulani. You and your sibling decide to move out together and live there permanently. It’s rough living in a new place with limited funds, but the two of you have some creative solutions.

Traits: Loyal, Bro, Kleptomaniac

Aspiration: Party Animal

Career: Criminal

Starting Out: Move into a small house in Sulani with your sibling. 

Rules: 

Max the charisma skill

Reach the top of your career

Earn money from the criminal career, stealing and pickpocketing 

Always maintain a close relationship with your sibling (who can also follow in your criminal footsteps, or work part time / odd jobs instead)

Throw parties regularly and pickpocket the whole time

Have a rivalry with another criminal that turns into love at some point 

Your sibling eventually moves out…and your partner moves in!

Have one child

Have a super tacky over the top wedding

Optional Rules:

 Max the mischief skill

(If you have this mod, you can pickpocket when your sim is younger! If you have Basemental you can also become a dealer to make money. If you have this mod, I recommend using the enemies to lovers interactions!)

Ok, after a month I think it's time for me to actually say stuff about my OCs! (be warned–this is going to be kinda long.)

I have a few stories/worlds (three I drew characters from I think–) so I'll break it up based on that. After the character’s name, I'll put a day I drew them (I don't want to write descriptions…)

1 - A fantasy world set a long time ago. Basically, the world runs parallel to our world. Set around the year range 1000-1500 (i had a really specific one but i forgor). There are significantly less people than in our world because when “wizards” (normal people who take magic from places it isn't supposed to be taken from) die, there are great natural disasters/magic related catastrophes. Along with wizards, there are naturally occurring magical creatures/people. (I’ve done a lot of worldbuilding for this over the years, so if you are confused I would be happy to elaborate! I'm not going to write it all in this paragraph because that would be. a lot.)

Dandelion (day 2): she is a shapeshifter (can be a human or a mountain lion) who comes from the forest surrounding a small kingdom. Her mom was killed when she was young and she gets separated from her siblings, but she ends up making her way to the outskirts of the small kingdom and eventually becomes some sort of royal guard thing. She wants to go back to the forest, but her best friend (Lev) isn't allowed to leave, and she wont go without him.

Leverett ‘Lev’ (day 13): he is a prince of the kingdom, but not in line for the throne (that's his older sister). He gets sick easily (and is allergic to grass and pollen and whatever), and so is not allowed to do lots of things his sister is. Despite this, he wants to go on a “grand adventure” (with Dandelion) and sneaks out to try to do that more often than people usually want him to. He is really friendly, and is well liked by pretty much everyone he meets. This sort of makes up for the fact that he was taught zero survival skills.

Pon (day 12): they are the literal shadow of the latest wizard. They were brought to life in the wizard’s attempt to live forever (it's complicated) but it didn't work. After the wizard died (old age), Pon lived with his widowed wife until she died a few years later. They inherited the house, a small cabin/cottage in the middle of the woods, and they keep up the garden and read to pass the time. Pon is solid in direct light, and can be solid in the dark, but can also become more like a shadow and also move through walls. They meet Dandelion when she breaks into their house.

2 - Platformer video game concept I've had for a while that I probably wont start for a few years, if at all. Very basic, there are five areas: ocean, volcano, clouds, forest, and mirror world.

Farris(name may change)(day 24): main character. The flower behind their ear gives them a different power/attack for each area. They are friendly/helpful to a fault, causing them to help a magic talking tree.

Briar (day 3): she is the person who gives little hints about the map and the controls. She seems to know a lot about this strange world–more than Farris, maybe more than she should…

Cat merchant(day 27): is a calico cat that sells stuff. She's real silly. Makes Farris eat cat food.

3 - set in 2024 but there's magicians and vampires and dragons etc that are kept secret from normal people. Magicians do magic with the help of a familiar. A magician’s magic is passed down through genetics. Most people have some magic in them but not enough for them to do magical stuff. Not really important but I thought it was a cool idea–vampires drink the magic that's in blood, and if you don't have any magic in you, you're immune to vampires (and some other magic stuff). Same with werewolves–you would just get chomped and have to go to the doctor probably. But I'm getting off topic here. The type of magic that magicians use is different than the type of magic that magical creatures (vampires, dragons, etc) use.

Korbin (day 7): he's a highschooler who thought for all his life that he was just a normal guy. One day he discovers that he is a slightly cooler guy (can do magic), and makes friends with a couple other magical teens. His familiar is a raven named Peanut. She likes peanuts. Korbin really likes drawing, reading and going to the library. He 100% almost immediately gets a crush on Viktor. Because of some worldbuilding that I don't think I wrote down and have mostly forgotten, he accidentally does something and gets features from his familiar (aka cool wings).

Hecate (day 23): she has known she was a magician. She really really wants to do weird necromancy shit, but it is illegal (she does it anyway)(her parents dont know). She wants to be a doctor (100% for necromancy reasons). She has a snake familiar, I forgot her name tho. Snakie is totally on board with the whole creepy bones magic stuff, and she brings hecate small animals to “practice” on, causing hecate to have a bunch of small bones on her at all times. She is a grade younger than the other three. 

Erin (day 20, dragon form day 4): she is a dragon who was secretly swapped at birth with a kid in a magical family. She can change from dragon and human forms. When she uses magic, her eyes turn from brown to a yellowie gold like they are in her dragon form. She is very silly i love her. Since she is not a magician, she has a fake familiar (pet)(a possum named Theo) to blend in more (dragon changelings are really rare and her parents let her keep the possum that she found in her garage). She doesn't like Viktor as fast as Korbin and hecate do, but she warms up to him. She likes sewing.

Viktor (day 8): he's a vampire who grew up in a cult trying to get rid of the type of magic that magical creatures have, out of the fear of it being “too powerful”. He has a cat “familiar”(as a vampire he doesnt need one) named moon. He usually wears a turtleneck to hide his bite scars from people, but his family and the leaders of the cult do know about his vampirism, and are using him as a sort of test subject to try to learn how to un-vampire someone/take away the more potent magic from a magical creature. He ends up becoming friends with the other three after they learn that he's not a crazy cultist.

I’m so sorry if you’ve already been asked this and it’s annoying, but how do you get the motivation to sit down and actually write? I know what I want to write, I have it all in my head, but it can be hard for me to sit down and just do it. I also think self-doubt plays a role in it. I’m trying to be kinder to myself.

nonnie first of all u r so fine babe!! you don't ever need to apologise for that, it's not annoying at all!! i don't think i've been asked this before but even if i had it's all good!!

also before i ramble too much: if any of my lovely writer moots have any suggestions or advice please sound off too!!

anyway that being said i resonate a lot with that!! it's difficult sometimes for me to get around to writing, even more so if i've got a proper idea of what i want to write because i'm prone to putting things off. i think it's probably a bit of self doubt for me too!! but also i think it's the fear of undertaking something and not doing it justice, because i want to do it right!! i want to be consumed and i want this to be good!!

i think it helps to reason with myself that doing it at all, even if i'm not satisfied in the beginning, is better than not writing anything. the goal is to get words on the paper because then you have something tangible to work with and rework into something better!! a shit sentence is better than a blank document, imo.

i think also if you're doubting yourself, i find that it helps to trick yourself into doing it by chipping away at it if that makes sense? like if going headfirst into writing the piece you want to feels a bit too much, you can always just outline it in a document! and that 'doesn't count' as writing the fic so there's less pressure, but at the same time you are fleshing it out and maybe even adding in excerpts and choreographing scenes.

this is an excerpt from my outline of one of my fics!! when i'm outlining, sometimes it jogs a scene in my brain and i usually add it just under the description of a part/act so that when i start writing the fic, i can refer to it later.

maybe making a playlist for your piece, so that you can visualise it with the music in the background and immerse yourself in it. again, not really writing, but you're contributing to a part of the process and you'll get thinking even more about it.

i think it makes the writing environment a bit more comfortable too, because you're slipping into that headspace and you've got your own notes to rely on, so you can pad them, to begin with and then go back later to fix it (it's only a draft, so again less pressure! and if you write a sentence that feels silly in the moment, it's okay because drafts are allowed to be stupid)

i'm very much a mood writer and kind of picky about my writing conditions, but sometimes a piece bugs me so much even when it's all 'wrong' that i end up just reaching for my phone or laptop anyway. e.g. longer fics are usually written at my desk, where i can refer to my notebook, and they feel more business-like, but a few nights ago i ended up writing in bed because i wanted to at least write a few words, and by the time i got those out, the ball had already started rolling.

i think sometimes also it helps to just take a breather if you feel like the words won't come. you can always try again later, and in the meantime do things that will be kind to yourself.

i had a long talk with my brother about the blues and reds awhile back and i thought i'd share some ideas we brainstormed for a better season (because s15 has so potential gone down the shitter) so uhh scroll while you still can. professional yapping under cut

ok so thinking about it now i don't exactly know how this would work about we had an idea that some of the reds and blues stayed back on chorus (i know, i know, this is already creating plotholes.) we decided on tucker, simmons, and sarge. we also thought itd be cool if tucker was like a cooler version of felix and wash combined. i think he'd train lieutenants☝️ maybe some simmons jensen bonding time i need those nerds to be friends!!! they can geek together. i also think simmons would like to observe chorus and help them recover from the war. and sarge would just stay idk

nooowww let's get into some ideas we had to improve the b&rs

surge, now being a sort of opposite of sarge, gained his rank from deception and tricks and he's actually quite cowardly, he'd risk a whole platoon to save his own ass (but oh no, they fought well and died in honor..) he doesn't really care for command and order, but follows temple because he has to. we came back to this a few months later and also had another idea that he was an odst like sarge but was very traumatized after the war and was very apathetic to life.

genes more street smart than book smart, also a massive trickster. he only pretends to think surge is in charge, he really hates surge (plus i had an idea that sarge DID save surge, but he left surge on his own and gene pushed him in the lava mwahahaha) but despite that he actually sort of idolizes temple, seeing him as the leader surge never was. my guy turned down his leader just to immediately cling onto the first authority figure he views as "different from the others" (different as in worse. so much worse) or he's just the same. cause that joke was pretty funny

i think it'd be interesting if cronut acted more like s1 donut (because the difference is INSANE 😭) not much further explanation on this but also added a point that he's using the b&rs just for the time machine (what for? we didn't exactly get that far.) OH ALSO MAYBE NAMED BAGEL LMAO

so we had two ideas for buckey. he's either huge creepazoid turned up to 11 or a huge religious freak that DESPISES tucker for his sexual nature. swears its gods words telling him to persevere and help the b&rs on their plan. to add onto the first idea, i think he'd have all of tuckers worst traits amplified by like, a lot. the only reason they keep him around is cause he's a sniper (also had a little idea that he was the one who shot wash)

lorenzo is silent. cant speak LOL we had some ideas about him being given freelancer equipment. alsssooooo added onto this with the possibility of the suit being ran by the greed ai (and that the armor was georgia's suit colored brown cause of the georgia & greed theory) plus they had an emp bomb installed as a backup. maybe this ones a stretch

nothing much for loco. i guess i liked his whole "hes not REALLY evil thing" but i wouldve liked to see an evil side of loco, even just a little. oh we had an alternative idea for the machine he was builing, somewhat of a slipspace bomb to lure in unsc ships to boom boom them

i don't really know what to add to biff 😭 i actually liked his character as he was. uuuuuhhhhh i wouldve liked more georgina. pls. i love heryou dont understamd.

OHHH ALSO ALSO we had an idea that when tucker finally gets to temple he pulls out fucking yellow church as an ai fragment. he threatens to destroy it and does his little rant about how the ai fragments were also the cause of all this. to add onto the slipspace bomb idea, the bomb is destroyed at the unfortunate cost of yellow church. bye bye buddy. I KNOW THIS ONES A STRETCH ITS JUST FUNNY

Courtesan au

Rip Skywarp. All he wanted to do was float around and look pretty and occasionally get laid and now he has to move in with the royal family and protect them. The real question, however, is does Skywarp know how to fight? He seems like the kinda guy to at least know how to throw a punch. But he will probably have to know at least the basics if he’s going to be the crown prince and his trine mate’s bodyguard.

Sky's not a trained fighter or anything, but he does have masterful control of his body. Aerial ballet and the art of performing require a mech to be in excellent shape, after all: the very best courtesans work very hard to maintain their form and stay in the best possible condition. He's very flexible, light on his feet, and has quick reflexes, which is perfect for his intended job. He's not actually meant to be a fighter, but a failsafe for the prince. Removing him from dangerous situations, putting distance between them and threats. His warpdrive handles that just fine

The work is a lot less demanding than he thought it would be, honestly. He's assigned to Starscream pretty much around the clock, but he never actually has to do anything. It's not often someone is brave or stupid enough to charge a member of the royal family with a weapon. For the most part, he just follows Starscream around at social functions and is on standby whenever Thundercracker visits. He's bored to death and dreams of returning to the Heaven House

Star and TC notice that the life is being sucked out of him and try to help alleviate his suffering. Starscream manages to find the typical price range for his previous workplace and offers him bonus pay for similar entertainment. Skywarp lights up at that, over the moon when he's given a fine crystalline serving set, some fancy cards and silk ribbons. The two betrothed put on music and watch Skywarp refill with life right before their optics, and it's easy to see why he was such a well loved courtesan. In his element and doing what he loves, he's the picture of grace and so personable. He makes excellent conversation, and is so lively and full of zest. Life in the palace isn't as bad as he initially thought, but he notices pretty quickly that neither Starscream nor Thundercracker are happy. They have no light in their optics, their smiles are never genuine. Everything seems like a formality and an obligation. There's not a hint of passion or excitement for anything they do. They're so full of longing and melancholy it hurts. He hates seeing them deflate after social gatherings, hates watching Starscream collapse onto his berth heaving the most exhausted sigh and groaning like he's in terrible pain, hates seeing Thundercracker get increasingly more antsy, retreating into his shell more and more as hours drag on at banquets and soirees. They're always polite and praise his performances, but they're never actually happy. He's never had a customer be unhappy before, and makes it his personal mission to fix it!

I've been thinking a lot lately about the grandmother hypothesis, which is the hypothesis for why female primate life expectancy is longer than the period in which the female is reproductively active for. (also wait i cant remember if this hypothesis applies to other animals as well or if it only applies to primates? ive really only studied both human and non-human primates so im a little bit clueless when it comes to evolution of other animals)

Like ok so hold on let me back up

So any biological organism has a life goal, and that is to reproduce as much as possible to make as many offspring as possible to ensure that your genes are being passed on to next generations. So when talking about evolution, an organism basically wants to have the best genes that allow it to survive long enough to reproduce, as well as reproduce as much as possible, and to ensure that their offspring reach reproductive age.

Now there are many different strategies to reach these goals, but for female animals that have low reproductive frequencies they have to expend a lot of energy in order to ensure that their offspring reach reproductive age. And when i say low reproductive frequency i mean like ok take humans for example, like you have a single baby and that takes nine full months, in that time the mother has to expend a lot of energy in order to grow the fetus, and then once the baby has been born, the mother then has to expend 18 years of energy raising the child till its an adult. Of course in humans this is different because like we dont live just to reproduce but thats what i mean with like female animals having to use up a lot of energy in order to pass on their own genes.

So basically, if a female animal's life goal is to reproduce as much as possible then why would they continue to live once they are no longer fertile? Basically the grandmother hypothesis is that females live longer than they are fertile for in order to help their own daughters raise their young.

It's super common at least in primates AGAIN CANNOT EMPHASIZE HOW MUCH ALL MY INFORMATION IS PRIMATOCENTRIC I HAVE A BACKGROUND IN ANTHROPOLOGY AND PRIMATOLOGY NOT ANY OTHER SORT OF BIOLOGY but its super common for first time primate mothers to lose their first few infants, and by lose i mean the infants will die because the mother is inexperienced. And that loss of life is like SUPER costly to the mother because she just spent x amount of time growing that baby and during that time she missed out on being able to reproduce so now not only is she back to square one but she essentially just wasted all that energy. BUT that mother that just lost an infant? well she has a mother, and that mother who is now a grandmother has tones of experience raising infants and is less likely to have an infant die on her. So the grandmother hypothesis is basically that females live past reproductive age in order to help their own daughters raise infants, which helps the grandmother ensure her own genes are being carried on for more generations by making sure her daughter is reproductively successful.

there are a lot of other really neat examples of like this sort of mothering? where like females with infants rely on the help of other females to raise their children. i just think its neat :)

Hold on. If you would allow me to add a little thought branch. Adding to the Crown Prince Mayor theory:

What if LBD actually wanted to save the empire by like, trying to make Mayor a better person because he was the next in line to the throne??? Better than the man that the Emperor undoubtedly raised him to be? Maybe instead of LBD trying to fix the one already in power, she was already trying to fix the person who was next in line? Trying to show the Mayor all of the suffering the people are going through? To make him see the world so he will make it a better place when he inevitably takes power?

But while she was trying to do this, maybe Mayor kind of just... Didn't really care for being good for the sake of the 'greater good'? Maybe he was only trying to just be good for LBD and for her sake? And that's obviously not what LBD would want. Through this she probably realises that people only care about the world's problems if it affects them directly. And the Chief probably doesn't give a crap but is either becoming attached to LBD (and therefore wants to impress her) or kinda just... I don't know, maybe he was too much of an ass like the emperor (like father like son I guess, haha)?

And during the process, maybe she realised even though it was working (kind of) she knew there was no point? So she gave up, but ended up brainwashing the Mayor anyway lol and made him turn against his own people. Or maybe, the dude really is just an ass LMAO. Dude was just bored, not enough war and not enough fun to satisfy his bloodthirsty cravings. And maybe he didn't like his father so that's why he didn't hesitate to kill the emperor. It would explain why LBD doesn't really seem to be attached to him. She probably only keeps him around because he just does what he's told, not because their ideals completely align.

Based on the little we know about the Mayor's backstory, I think the first one is probably the one the show writers were going with. Which would make the Mayor a nice parallel for Azure.

You know, them both being high ranking soldiers who grew so tired of their boss' bs that they ended up killing them.

But the second possibility... That idea of LBD slowly manipulating the Emperor's very own son into her most loyal servant. That she had lost her faith in humanity so thoroughly that the idea of replacing this selfish ruler with her puppet wasn't a choice she even considered.

(Unless that was indeed what she did, since that scene clearly takes place before she met the Pilgrims)

But most importantly: the idea that the Mayor was so loyal to LBD that he gave up his future as an Emperor, betrayed the people he was supposed to rule one day and murdered his own father.

Ik that in canon the whole place looks kinda-- moldy and shit and I get the lot of hc about how Macaque probably doesnt even live there since its in a very industrial outer neighborhood of Megaplois, and also it probably isnt really decorated or looks like someone is living in there at all, but I like to think that he has standards and they put like 272636373 nois cancelation seals on their bedroom so he can sleep camly when he actually can sleep (since in my hc Macaque suffers from insomnia (its a pretty common hc tho, but you get it)) and I think the outer circle of Megaplois is even tho industral and under constructuion on most parts, its probably more quiet than downtown

And I also like to imagine, Macaque even tho if not commited to a place will make it more homy. But looking at my reference pictures, in the dojo there were also a lot of posters and paintings (and in MKAGC Macaque did mention he might have a poster of wukong soooo~~)

So I saw that a lot of hc with Macaques place are mostly that first floor is the dojo and the second floor is the living area, buuut~~ based on the screenshots of the series that doesnt make any sense. My reasoning? Simple really, its bc you can see the ceiling If you are standing in the dojo. This could lead to the conclusion that:

"Okay maybe then there is no second floor just a gallery in there somewhere and thats it".

Sure we can say that, but then you would ignore the fact that you cant see the front door of the building when Macaque slams Mk into a weaponstand.

"Okay then its on the other side of the room that we never got to see in the episode"

I mean maybe sure but to me from an animation point of view it just doesnt make sense, just why would they flipp the camera angle like that (I mean anyone can think whatever they want, everyones opinion is valid, its not like anyone would ever argue me on this one ((or read this whole brainrot trough in the first place lol)))

Haha anyways regardless of anything, let's go back to talking about the first floor, shall we?

Everything is pretty self explenatory: when you come in on the front door youll see a little shoe rack where you can but your shoes, and one stair to seperate the ante-room from the rest of the house

Then theres a long hall that leads to the enterence of the storageroom, the random room and the staircase that leads to the second floor

I couldnt decide on what to put in that big room-- I had no clue -- I was thinking maybe Macaque could let other people rent it for a few days of maybe theres a shop with an owner whos ranting the place from Macaque (I think thats an interasting concept, but I didnt explore any of them) oh well thats that tho

Second floor:

This was probably the easiest, since 90% of it is the dojo

But before that when you walk up to the second floor you can see a big boubel door that opens to the dojo, and a normal door that opens to the bathroom, which is strategicly placed there by yours truely. There is big brain logic behind it,, it might be inconvinient for Macaque to walk down the stairs from his bedroom trough the dojo to the bathroom (but also he can just shadow portal there--), but when ocasionally he mentors Mk, he might have to go to the bathroom while hes at Macaques place and I dont think Macaque would apritiate someone stomping trough his personal area, and thats why the bathroom is conviniently placed next to the dojo and not that far from the bathroom I know im a genius (**read everything in the bathroom part with a lot of sarcasm**)

Anyways, we couldnt even see all four of the dojos walls so that was also a 'gamble', but I went with a simple bouble door that I mentioned before and two weapon stands (yes those are weapon stands) and other than that you can see the rest of the room on the screenshots, theres also the staircase and that has some closet underneath it, but thats about it

Looking at my reference pictures i could see that the dojo took up a lot of space almost taking up the 1/2 of the building, which I think is reasonable and kinda cool, but that means small living area which I think is even cooler (I am a huge fan of small practical spaces, they feel so so cozy)

So Yeah the living space: mostly two rooms that I also illustrated on top of this post, (you probably saw it) with a balkony thingy before the enterence of the rooms, where you can look down and see the entirety of the dojo, good for observing.

When you go in the door (actually havent decided if I want to put a door there or curtains for style but meh who knows who cares), youll enter the small but spacious kitchen. I dont see the Six Eared Macaque as a homecook, more of a fake cooking guy (only making basic foods like eggs or toast, maybe ocasionally pancake), hints there is no built in stove or owen just a portable stove, a kettle and a toaster and a small fridge that has MKs drawing (that he drew for them at the end of season 3) magneted there :]

Other than that theres a sink and an old television, he got from the randomest place ever, maybe he fished it out of the trash idk, but he put it on top of the cabinets (rarely watches anything on it)

On the baseplan you can see that there was supposed to be a small table next to the sink with a chair, but it didn't make it to the final drawing cuz let's be honest: drawing interior in correct perspective without a reference picture is just not my strongest artskill I posess, so I got pissed and put a trashcan in there, Macaque can eat in his bed

Talking about bed, let's move on to the Six Eared Macaques room:

It is very small but pretty comfortable with a small bed but a shit ton of pillows for a good nights sleep, other than that there are a nightstand that has the Lantern on it (I know it sorta got lost/destroyed after defeating LBD but I wanted to put it there) and a drawer.

The nightstand probably doesnt have a lot innit, just some nick-nacks and tissues and maybe snacks, or a book or something, the drawer stores some of his clothes, but since I like to think that Macaque is a fashion icon that wont be able to fit most of their clothes, so maybe he stores them in a pocket dimension of shadows, and only has some esentials there when he needs to get ready quickly.

And we could talk about the posters plastered around the room, but most of them are kinda self-explanatory, but there are the poster of his shadowplaly of the hero and the warrior, some drawing, a "Hang in there babygirl!" Poster with a cat on it hanging in there, a poster of the monkey king (heh), phantom of the opera poster and a-- well--- that ones for my bestie hope she'll notice it, its a spies are forever poster (really fun musical a of spies, go watch it its on youtube), and a drawing he brought( maybe)

And thats about the bedroom

And we are still not done, how are we feeling about that?? Huh?? (You dont have to answert, this shit took me about 2 hours to write :] )

LAST PLACE: the corner of the windows opposit the kitchen and the bedroom. Its just a chill little place with pillows and blankets, where someone can bundle up and enjoy some tea or read a book or brood, whatever the monkey prefers. The special thing about it, is that you cant access the place without knowing how to levitate, fly, jump high, or use portals, not that much of a game changer since more than half of the lmk cast could get up there, but still a bit of a barrier in my opinion

rewatched the whole series this weekend and i was like hey lol this kinda reminds me of those blocks and the more i thought about it a lot of the roles kinda clicked into place for me

dont know whether to make f!jesse and m!jesse the pines twins or olivia and f/m!jesse as dipper and mabel respectively... i know the first would make more sense it kind of messed with the rest of my characterizations and this is by no means a serious au i dont really care to keep anything super canon compliant LOL we can just call them fraternal twins if i choose olivia and jesse

Plus hear me out i think liv being dipper makes the most sense because theyre both techy, pragmatic, kinda socially awkward and pessimistic. mabel and the jesses is more of a stretch but they both have pet pigs and are usually the most optimistic #poweroffriendship people in any group theyre in (i guess it depends on how you play jesse but like i said a STRETCH)

ivor, petra, and axel's roles as stan, wendy, and soos are kinda a given i dont think i need to explain much about that decision 😭

though lowkey lukas doesnt fit anywhere in my version of this au gideon is the best i got LMAO 😭😭 the hair is kinda similar! i guess axel and liv could also be grenda and candy and lukas could be soos...?..? completely ignoring shipping? no idea there ehh

symbolism - POLLE

i wanted to debunk some people suggesting that the “old man” line could allude to polle representing the unborn baby, as well. i disagree!

see POLLE = ANYA theory here

so we all know that fathers are often called “old man” as a joke by their children. while there are some forms of personification of the unborn baby (the baby cries + the ultrasound baby), i do not think jimmy would personify it as a full form of consciousness that could/should talk to him. thus, the baby is not polle.

my interpretation is that in the beginning of the scene, polle is simply himself. the mascot that we see jimmy interacting with and is actively peeved by. we know the real polle is sarcastic and witty so calling jimmy “old man” is simply polle mocking him. and then once jimmy acknowledges that polle is dead (the company), that’s when anya’s consciousness takes over to press him.

and we know it’s anya because of the backdrop changing into the night screen in the lounge. as well as the text color similarity, like i mentioned on the original theory post

i also believe jimmy stops caring about the baby completely because he already avoided it/escaped it in the scene prior (the vent chasing scene). just like daisuke and swansea’s scenes, he forgets about them afterwards. he successfully avoided taking responsibility for their doom. so, this final polle scene is solely anya’s attempt to seek jimmy’s remorse herself, albeit through a mascot he already doesn’t respect

also in general, jimmy doesnt hallucinate anyone talking to him, except curly and polle (which is anya). it just doesn’t make sense that he would conjure up the unborn child talking to him because he already views it as a parasitic centipede monster (that is an amalgamation of polle, birthed from polle). so yeah! that is my explanation 👍

explanation under the cut hopefully someone whos brain like . works is able to help me with this bc mine is failing me ;-;

ok so basically im trying to like. the point of the spreadsheet is to figure out like. human equivalent ages for the sims you know. so for the first 3 games ive picked age ranges for each game based on like. ive assigned years to each game (i have sims 3 taking place in 1950, sims 1 in 1975, and sims 2 in 2000) and then ive assigned age ranges to each of the life stages in that game if that makes any sense at all.

cropped but hopefully this illustrates what i mean. (tb is twinbrook and mf is moonlight falls, i imagine both of them as in a different time from most ts3 worlds, so i have twinbrook is 25 years earlier and moonlight falls as 25 years later (during sims 1) bc that matches up some of the timelines a bit better in my head... there r other ts3 worlds that also probably take place in other times but i havent started dealing with those just yet). so each lifestage in each game i give the earliest possible birthdate and the latest possible... One issue i have already decided to fix is i currently have the overall lifespan ending at 80 buttt ive decided to up that to 100 just bc i think the 80 is throwing me off.

anyways all of that is just background context. obv my main thing to find the ages is to use the age range ive assigned to each lifestage BUT later on the ranges get a lot wider (esp ts1 where 'adult' can be anywhere from 18-80(/100 once i fix it) and ts2 where. well theres weirdness in ts2 bc of how the young adult life stage works. but i hope you understand what im saying. and also if its an ancestor sim whos dead in their only appearance i cant rly use that to figure out how old they would be during the year the game takes place since they couldve died like. one year prior or 50 and theres no real way to figure out (im not using memories atm bc this is like. my preliminary pass and ill use memories in a later stage If necessary...). so ive been using like. the ages of their children/descendants to help me out here. this is the meat of the issue sorry for rambling and all of that was probably pointless info

essentially ive made it so that parents have to be at least 13 when they have their first child. and then the birthing parent has to be under the age of 55 for their last child (and currently i have it so the nonbirthing parent has to be under 70 . but thats mostly just to help me Have an earliest birthdate). the issue is i dont know whether to like. i dont know if they need to be at least 13 at their first childs earliest possible birthdate or their first childs latest possible birthdate. and i dont know if they need to be under 55 at their last childs earliest possible birthdate or at the latest possible. if that makes sense. and i made an example to illustrate this issue

so i used albany and goneril as examples here as you can see. and i cut out hal and desdemona bc theyre middle children and not rly important to this issue. so the first column is names obvi and then its imm. so early/early is earliest birth of last child -55/70 and earliest birth of first child -13. late/early is latest birth of last child -55/70 and earliest birth of first child -13. early/late is earliest birth of last child -55/70 and latest birth of first child -13. and late/late latest for both. If that makes sense at all.... goneril is kind of bad to use as an example since i do have a better way to ascertain her age (she appears as a child in ts3 store so i can use that to know that she was born between 1938 and 1944) but i already made the chart so we will deal.

essentially i just dont know which is the most accurate between early/early late/early early/late and late/late. would it be early/late bc it has the widest range ?? my brains just rly not working with me here and im hoping somebody can help bc its stressing me out ;-; i already have to redo a lot of work bc i realized i was kind of just flipping between all of them randomly. + i need to up the. or i guess lower the earliest years for elders across the board so that will change a lot. so um yes. and also let me know if i should change it so that the rule is the nonbirthing parent just has to be under 100? the under 70 thing is a bit arbitrary but i have to have Some sort of maximum age for them... so yes. let me know your thoughts.actually
