The night was quiet aboard the airship. Huntsman hadn't been able to sleep, not with the manic grins of skeletons and the screams of his queen filling his head. Everything had happened so fast...too fast. He needed a break. The spider demon made his way to the large deck of the ship, and there he'd see her. A familiar tall figure wearing white, her long black curls hidden in a cloak. How could he forget? She must be hurting too. Before he could turn and leave, he heard her rich voice speak to him: "Do not go. Stay with me."

It was such a simple request, how could he say no? Huntsman made his way over to her by the railing, looking up at Xingshen's face. Ever since the queen's death, Xingshen had lost the iron authoritative aura that kept those around her grounded. Now she looked hallow, as if stars soul had been carved from stars body. Her golden eyes looked heavenward. The night was clear, allowing the masterpiece of the cosmos to act as their ceiling. Yet she saw not its beauty.

"You could not sleep." Huntsman startled a bit when she spoke. "No, my princess. I-" "You do not need to explain. You miss her just as much as I. Not to mention your friends."

The screams of the dead filled the void between them. Huntsman shuddered. No- don't think about it. Don't think about how if you'd been there, if you'd been faster, if you'd only-

Suddenly, something was draped over his shoulders. Xingshen's cloak. "We are high up, you must keep warm." It was such a simple gesture, but it hurt something in Huntsman. He didn't pretend to be a man of 'sappy' emotions. He enjoyed the thrill of the hunt, anger at Syntax trying to show him up in front of the queen and princess, the glow of accomplishment and satisfaction when his queen gave him that delighted smile. He wasn't used to loss. It was all-consuming, soul-shattering, it ripped the ground from under him and left him falling back into a dark chasm he couldn't escape. But...he wasn't alone. Someone was falling with him, and though they didn't know where they'd land star was willing to offer even the slightest bit of comfort.

This realization made him feel he had to speak. "My princess..." He faltered. What could he say? He had lost a queen, but she had lost a wife.

"I think about that, you know," Xingshen said, still looking at the sky. "By rights of inheritance, now with Zhizhu...gone... I inherit her queendom. Her titles. What a cruel joke the gods have played on me. I wonder, is this to be my fate? Queen of two dead queendoms? My vassals shall be naught but corpses, and the slaughtered are the only ones left to sing my "praise". What a heavy crown to wear."

Oh boy he was really out of his depth here. Xingshen had barely opened up about anything, and it made her sudden bout of sharing that much more jarring. Just how much did Huntsman not know about the monarchs he pledged his fealty and life to? What was Xingshen like before she met the queen? He'd never known. They were as parents are to a babe, they simply always Had Been. The Queen and the Princess, those whose approval he would seek above all others. But they'd been more than that. It made the loss of the queen so much worse. Could he have learned more about her? The Spider Queen had once had a mighty empire, but that was about all Huntsman knew. His musings were broken by Xingshen speaking once more. "Forgive me, I should not be ruminating in such a bleak manner. There is still battle to be done. She may yet be saved, may yet be avenged." But her empty eyes said star held no hope. Even if the Bone Demoness was slain, that would only leave the two of them.

There was only one thing Huntsman could think to do. He reached out a hand, gently grabbing hers. Xingshen's expression morphed to one of shock as she looked down, but soon it became one of understanding. Slowly, she pulled Huntsman into a hug. Huntsman tensed, his first instinct being to shove back, but he made himself relax.

The ocean. Xingshen always smelled like the seaside...

He felt tears pricking his four eyes, and before he knew it his princess was knelt in front of him, letting him bury his face in her chest. Star sushed him, holding him close and wrapping her cloak tighter around him, whispering reassurances that star would not leave so long as star could help it. Promises that they would make it through. Star swore it.

After he was too tired to cry more, Huntsman just sat there, clinging to Xingshen. He felt like an idiot, bawling like a spiderling, but his ravaged heart didn't care. While in those maternal arms, he felt a resolve forming. The Queen was gone, they might not be able to get her back, but there was still Xingshen. There was still his princess. He could still protect her, even if he died in the attempt. He'd continue his duty and deal with the confusion- the grief- once she was safe.

What was supposed to be an easy heist, get-in-get-out situation, turns out to be something more of a fucked up TV show where the actors were the targets and the directors were insane psychopaths. How much humor can we pack into a scattered group of misfits and a casino full of fun and laughter? Not enough. You're pretty sure you've hit rock bottom after all this, though. The only place left to go is up.

Pigsy gets upset when people joke about Wukong being Mk's dad. It's insulting to him, the one that raises Mk since he was so little.

Wukong is someone that craves physically touch but also can't stand it. It stems from all the violence he's been apart of + the crown messed him up alot. He was SUPER uncomfortable with Mk touching him in the beginning. It has to be on his terms if you wanna touch him.

Macaque doesn't have a heart beat anymore.

Because of Macaque never coming back when Wukong needed him, Wukong had no trust that Macaque will come back if they have a argument. He assumes that Macaque is just gone and gets upset about it. Eventually Macaque comes back and realizes Wukong's upset but he doesn't bring it up cause he doesn't know how.

Redson doesn't really understand why his father doesn't seem to like him. He assumed that his dad would be overjoyed to see him again, not how he's acting now.

Mei had many breakdowns because of her grades and the pressure to be a spectacular student.

Pigsy got bullied alot in school for being a pig demon. It wasn't everyone, most people liked him, just a specific group of kids.

To add on to #7, Tang used to beat himself up over not being able to help Pigsy. He HATED seeing Pigsy getting bullied but he knew that if he tried to start a fight he would either get beat because he can't fight or get himself kicked out of school.

Mk gets nightmares of Wukong getting forced into the scroll. Sometimes he wonders what would of happened if Wukong never got out. He usually ends up crying.

The closest thing Sandy ever got to being violent is when one of his cats scared him and he accidently dropped Mo. He cried. Alot. (Mo was fine but he just hates his cats being hurt.)

Sandy still doesn't know Hunstman is dead. He just thinks that Huntsman was scared of him so he never came back. (Guess Hunstmans my favorite and he's dead and i hate it here god dammit.)

No one can say anything about Azure or Azure's death around Wukong because he will get upset. Macaque made a joke one time and Wukong lost his shit. He's still kinda shooken up about it.

Some of the baby monkies recognize Macaque as the one disguised as Wukong that ate the monkey and passed it around. Those monkies REFUSE to be around him. They get violent if they have to be around him.

Nezha wants to see Wukong, Redson, and the others more but his job is so demanding he barely gets to leave.

Wukong physically couldn't be around Tang for long periods of time when they first met. He got more comfortable with him over time but Tang reminded him to much of Tripitaka and he couldn't handle it.

Mei doesn't yell out of anger, like serious anger alot. When she finally yelled at Wukong because of the fire, all Wukong saw was Ao Lie screaming at him. (Stole that headcannon from a friend of mine. Thanks Ainnur you ruined my life.)

Mk brought up the fact that Wukong was willing to put the fire into himself and sacrifice himself, almost certainly killing himself in the process one time. Wukong kinda laughed and just said "Yeah, had to save the world bud. It's a shame Macaque messed up my plan, the world woulda been a little bit more peaceful if me AND Lady Bone Demon died." He wasn't even trying to admit suicidal feelings, he was just being honest. This scared the SHIT out of Mk because Wukong just admitted that he can and will kill himself if he feel he needs too.

Sandy often feels left out of the group and not as important but he doesn't wanna ruin everyone's fun so he stays quiet.

Bai he was ready to die when she was found by the Monkie Gang. She wasn't scared of death anymore.

Bai he was scared of Wukong when they first met face to face. Wukong apologized and explained himself. Over time she got a little more comfortable with him. She understands why he's apologizing but at that point she was so ready to die she didn't care who did it.

Redson wants to be around Sun Wukong again but he doesn't know how to start the relationship again. Same on Wukongs part but he's a bit more forward.

Macaque gets physical in fights fast. Partly cause his fights with Peng, Partly cause of his life before Wukong, Partly cause of Lady Bone Demon. If Macaque thinks a situation will get rough, he'll try to fight but if he thinks he'll lose he'll dip.

Princess Iron Fan unintentionally critiques Redsons's looks all the time. It messes with him alot so he's quite insecure.

Mei feels the need to always be upbeat and cheerful so Mk doesn't sink to far into depression. She can tell when he does this for her but she doesn't bring it up.

Pigsy's worst fear is that Mk won't come back home. The nightmares he's had of this is brutal.

I could make more but I'm sleeeeepppy. I'll make a part two one day though. Leave your own headcannons cause seeing other people break down these characters is so fun.

Macaque will only ever be free when Wukong has found peace and moves on. This goes on for a long time, yet when Macaque feels the tether start to loosen, he panics and realizes- he doesn't want Wukong to let him go.

Summary: Based on Taken once more, but with the twist that instead of taking MK to the human world, Nezha took MK with him to the celestial Realm. From there he raised MK himself as his apprentice. Hiding him with a glamor and instilling a misguided loyalty to the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor is insistent one of the twins must still die, but agrees to keep MK around, hoping to find a chance to kill the other twin instead and keep the loyal MK as his own bodyguard.

Taken Reverse/Swapped

Summary: Another Taken Au. XiaoXiao and MK are born, but instead of MK being taken Xiaoxiao is instead. He would be Xiaohua in this one. Xiaohua, who is abandoned at an orphanage, winds up being taken in by the Spider Queen when he shows promise as a thief. Xiaohua is iving the life of crime, while in return MK (Xiaotian) is being raised to follow in his Father's footsteps as a hero. The two eventually meet and clash.

Parent Trap

Summary: Based on Taken once more. Isn't quite like the normal LMK lore. When MK and his twin brother Xiaohua were babies, their parents separated, each taking one of the infants with them. MK went with Wukong, and Xiaohua with Macaque. When the two get older, they manage to miraculously meet at a Summer Camp and discover the truth. Now these two working on a plan to reunite their parents.

The cancelled Au’s??

Strange title I Know, but it’s the best way to describe this section

-The Day the World Eclipsed (the Original Plot)

-most may know this, but I changed the plot of the Story within the first few chapters. When Wukong left to head to the City, intent on finding a new home for his son… he was originally intended to go through with that.

I have Many MANY chapters of this unfolding- of Wukong actually going through with abandoning MK.

It was farrrr different than what the story has changed to now. And I love the direction the story is now going, but I had a lot of angst planned for the original :)

One day I might even post what originally was intended to happen.

Your point about the samadhi fire is so right! Like if Red Son got it, it would have to be a completely different arc, everything would have to change. Unrelated but I think Mei, MK, and Red Son all simultaneously being foils of each other is very interesting

TBH I could go on for even more paragraphs about my many problems with how Mei's treated by the fandom so here's some petty complaints I left out of the first ask:

Her getting hypersexualised in a lot of fanart

Her struggles with the samadhi fire only getting used as angst-fuel for other characters and never for herself

Fans only ever addressing misogyny when it's about someone disliking a ship shes in.

She gets compared to Willow from TOH like a lot? I don't know why???

(this one is hyperspecific and very petty) Multiple Youtube vids about LMK that only bring up Mei to talk about how the ship her with Red Son (while making fun of other ships simultaneously for sooome reason...)

Mei, MK, and Red Son all simultaneously being foils of each other is SUPER interesting. I just talked about Mei and MK as well as Mei and Red Son parallels, and like it SLAPS. I should delve into MK and Red Son parallels, but that's for another time.

On the topic of Mei being compared to Willow, I think it's because they're both green girl characters who are considered "tough"? It's a very vague archetype—but, I think fandom in general likes to put characters into these nebulous categories. Each character gets sanded down to like 3 base traits and everyone calls it good. It's genuinely maddening.

And personally, I don't really ship anyone in LMK (excluding Freenoodles), so the amount of ship art I see and the way ships predominate is very off-putting for me. I think that's mainly because none of the actual show really focuses on romantic relationships (one of it's virtues, I'm an MK is aroace truther), but to each their own. Shipping is super fun, and I totally get it. However, when it gets to the point where no other relationships/dynamics are really focused on, especially on a show so focused on friendship, it just feels off. It feels even MORE off when the only time you discuss the main female lead is to ship her with Red Son.

AND LOL THE FEMALE VILLAINS. MY POOR GIRLS. I don't think I've ever come across a post about Spider Queen (though her henchmans get a lot of love), and really it's a shame. That girl was doomed by the narrative, and BOY was she doomed by the narrative with MK. Granted she's been dead for 2 seasons, but I STILL see Sandy and Huntsman art, so idk. It honestly feels like the misogyny.

Lady Bone Demon and I are best friends and I love her so much. Truly one of the most villains of all time. "No staff and no backup—so, your plan is to fist fight a child?" OH MY GOD SHE'S SO ICONIC. That AND she has fucked up parallels to MK (sorry my boy foils just about every character in this show, he's a reflection), what is there not to love?

She TRIED to go about helping the world the "right" way, attempting to lead someone with real power to be better (as shown in the 3x11 flashback, but on god that scene parallels her whole relationship with spider queen), and IT DIDN'T WORK. So then she tried to "help" the world by starting with a clean slate, and that didn't work. And then you realize that she was doomed by the narrative just as much as anyone else. I'm fucking obsessed with her. Seriously, the "to pain" scene has been in my head for 5 straight months. I'll never stop yelling about it.

I've been listening to Lady Hell by Dirt Poor Robins on repeat thinking about LBD, and I can't help but rotate her in my mind. She captivates me.

Me made a LMK AU

So a few months back, I and my friend made an LMK Swapped role AU. However, my friend gave me full ownership of the AU due to who is more active on the internet. However, I still wish to credit him since his genius brain came up the AU (I dunno if they have a Tumblr account TwT). Anyways, the roles that are swapped aren't too drastic. We tried keeping them in groups of who to swap who with who to a certain extent. For example, we switched the roles of the traffic light trio among the three.

Some of the lore kinda is still a work in progress since I wanna add Spicynoodles into the au without making it incest. (If you hadn't guessed, MK has Redson's role in this AU). This AU is a little different because the roles have been swapped, not the characters. To further explain this, the JTTW still has the same characters and none of them are swapped. It's actually something one of the JTTW gang characters did that caused everyone's role to be switched. If you'd like to hear more about the characters, just like this post!

I should also mention that I figured I wouldn't have much motivation to completely draw every little thing without getting burnt out, so I made a fanfic about the AU on AO3 called "Twisted Fates" which is what the AU is called because everyone's fate has a sort of twist compared to their original fate. It currently only has two chapters (which was supposed to be one because it's the prologue but I add to much detail), but I do plan to post more about the AU here and maybe on Instagram. I hope YOu enjoy it as much as I do!

But have no fear! We will have Dad Pigsy and Son MK moments!

I also feel like this should be stated because I know a few people will most likely bring it up, but Mei and Redson will be siblings in this book. I don't hate Dragonfruit nor' do I think the ship would never work in the show, and no, I don't hate it because it's a straight ship, I just see Redson and Mei acting more like siblings!

And because I can, I'm adding Spindrax to this book! She only has one Lego set and I'm still a little sour she was never added to the TV show or even mentioned, but I shall respect the director's choices. But that isn't gonna stop me from making her a little gremlin who just loves to tease her siblings and Queen. I'll be doing more on her once I have her character design done. But the first character I plan to upload about is the Traffic light trio! Mei will be first since she takes MK's place in this AU!

So I may spiraled into some of my ideas for my take on a younger Huntsman 🕷

He was born with black hair, but I drew him when his hair started to turn grey. I thought it would be cool if he had a longer braid, so I put that idea to this look.

He would’ve used bandage binding, extra layers of clothing or chest armor to bind his chest. (I headcanon Huntsman as trans)

During this time, Huntsman had a partner, a partner who was very specific on a certain future for himself. That future was of him, a lovely wife who was also his strong huntress, and children who could be as strong as them. But Huntsman didn’t want to be seen or referred to as a huntress anymore. If he was going to be seen as a hunter, he would be seen as a huntsman and not a huntress. But his ex didn’t accept that Huntsman didn’t want to be a huntress anymore. So enraged by this, his ex partner attacked him and cut off his braid. Thankfully some members of the Spider Clan were able to rescue Huntsman in time before anymore damage could be done.

(I also headcanon Goliath as trans)

For awhile Huntsman kept his head covered until his hair grew back. This was Huntsman’s first actual relationship, not just a one time fling, and because of this it took him outta the dating pool for a long time.

That was until he properly met Sandy.

Huntsman's pretty good at tracking Wen's scent, though she does steadily improve over time, he prides himself on always finding her

Huntsman tried to learn Lapine so he could better communicate with Wen, but it's just led to new ways of him cussing out Syntax without Syntax knowing what the hell he's saying

Wen thinks Huntsman's an absolute dork but y'know what? He's her dork!

We already know Syntax and Huntsman are competitive but when Wen's around Huntsman just automatically starts shit just to prove that he's better

Huntsman's bragging about a new rifle he got and Syntax just looks over and goes "Those aren't clips those are mags" (/ref)

Again, Wen thinks it's hilarious b/c Huntsman's HER dork :3

Huntsman probably hunts for Wen around the winter months since he knows that rabbits don't hibernate but do get more sleepy and need more food

He also makes blanket nests to snuggle with her just how rabbits do when they share burrows in the winter for extra warmth

I like to think somewhere in the wild they have a cave together. Huntsman found it one day and used it to store some extra gear, then Wen began digging it out to have a few little tunnels, but as the months go by they began enlargening it together so it's their little getaway now

I wonder if Wen goes there after the events of Season 3. I wonder if she grieves. I wonder if she can still detect Huntsman's old scent. I wonder if it's too painful to go back there and she considers closing in the tunnels but she just can't

She can't let go of this last tangible remainder of his existence and what they shared together

I wonder if Wen wandered into those woods, with the world around her devoid of all color, and I wonder if she curled up in one of the burrows they shared. I wonder if she cries for him.

Here's some LMK villain angst for someone NOT in the demon bull fam: you ever think it bothers Syntax that he wasnt... created like the others? He was a normal science guy before this, implied to have only been working for the spider queen out of coercion and threats, he had a life before this he either doesnt remember anymore or is compelled to not think upon too much... how would that not grate on someone after awhile? Dude could have had a whole ass family who now think hes missing presumed dead for all we know about his life before

... I think he tries not to think about it.

For better or for worse, in his mind, he is Syntax. Who he was doesn't matter anymore. He serves the Queen now.

But he wonders sometimes, mind managing to rebel against the venom and trying to dig up memories from before to convince him to go, to run- Goliath and Huntsman usually calm him down from this, usually in a twisted 'it doesn't matter anymore, you're ours now' manner.

You flash Huntsman a warning glare as you stuff whatever you need in your bag; wallet, phone, license, the whole shebang. "Out. We're just going . . . out."

"Ha! The Queen ain't gonna be happy about you wanderin' off," Huntsman snickers, but he doesn't sound worried about what fate has in store for you. In fact, the cocky spider demon seems to enjoy the thought of you getting in trouble.

"It's not like I'd get anything productive done here with you nagigng."

"You can't get shit done anyways."

"Like hell!"

Loud, thunking footsteps reach your ears. Someone's been listening.

"Uh . . . guys? If Huntsman wants to come with us, (Y/N), I wouldn't mind," Goliath offers awkwardly, sending a trying smile your way.

Ah, well, your soul lifts at the sight of him.

"Nah, Huntsman would rather die."

Said asshole scoffs, an offended gurgle sounding in his throat. "I'm not goin' on some shitty field trip to the mall. Especially not with you goons."

"The feeling is mutual," you scoff, backing up a few steps.

He eyes you piercingly. "You're actually going? What if I tell the Queen, huh?"

"Go ahead!" You retort.

"Fine! Suffer!"

"Uh- actually, I wouldn't do that," Goliath pipes up, finger raised in objection. "We're just going shopping, Huntsman."

The assassin glares at the larger spider, to which you immediately bristle at. "Pfft, I never asked for your opinion, big guy. You just make sure they don't do anything stupid, otherwise the Queen will have my hide, because she always blames me for the shit you pull off," Huntsman growls, eyes flashing. "Got that?"

Goliath puffs a sigh. "Yeah, all right."

"Over my dead body," you mutter under your breath as the idiot stalks off. You're grateful none of Goliath's other spider friends are nearby, or they, too, would have something to say about your trip.

You're pissed at Huntsman for going off on Goliath as well, and you're irked that it might put a damper on your day.

Swiftly, you turn to face the giant. "So! Ready?"

"Oh! Yeah, guess so. . . ." He says bashfully, smiling and rubbing the back of his neck. Some of the anger fades at the look, and you're suddenly smiling like an idiot.

"You're adorable."

Ah, well. Huntsman doesn't deserve the truth, anyways.

You and Goliath actually had plans to visit the botanical gardens today, and the Spider Queen is well aware of this. Sure, you had to beg for your life as well as her permission, but it should be worth it.

Even if some things don't go as planned.

"Those are pretty," you say, pointing at a particular patch of lotus flowers resting atop a shiny pond. "And so cute!"

"Yeah, it's pretty small," Huntsman says, smiling distractedly.

You follow his gaze.

It appears that your beloved companion is watching a family in the distance. They're currently observing a large patch of garden work - they should be admiring the different colors and species flowing effortlessly together to create a parade of entertainment. But . . . no. It doesn't seem so.

The family keeps glancing Goliath's way.

That doesn't sit well with you. Especially with the looks they're giving the cinnamon roll; contempt, hate, judgement. Disgust, even.

It disgusts you.

Ever since spider demons were officially accepted into society (at the expense of a LOT of rules and plenty of legislations being passed, regarding the restriction of their taste for human flesh. Yeah, it still gives you anxiety just thinking about the paperwork), people have had nothing else to talk about. You notice that most of the topics centered around spider demons aren't very friendly.

To witness it in person as you catch the hushed mumbling, to see their hateful eyes pass over Goliath's large figure, well . . .

A fire is set ablaze in your chest.

You glance back at Goliath, eyes narrowing at his features. He won't look at you; instead, his eyes are dully fixed on the plants you two walk past. A small frown is plastered to his face.

One of the children suddenly speak up. "Mama, what's that??"

The mother quickly hushes the kid and ushers them away. "Don't worry about it. Just one of those monsters you read up in books. But don't worry, he's not-"

"Not what?"

The family promptly stops, all heads simultaneously turning. Your gaze is as cold as ice.

"Sorry?" The mother asks, looking uncomfortable.

Goliath suddenly lays a hand on your shoulder. You blink, head tilting so you can meet his eyes. His own are gentle, full of sadness and understanding. "We shouldn't cause a problem, (Y/N). Let's just go home."

Wha-

He wants to bail?

The fury you feel at the family's blatant disrespect cannot be compared to, cannot be put out.

But Goliath's large hand suddenly takes yours, his grip light as he tugs you away from the group across the pond. A light breeze blows past, disturbing the mother's hair which had been over her eyes.

You see the look on her face now. Disgust.

"Let's go visit a different section, honey," her significant other murmurs, pushing the stroller further down the path. "If you don't like the spider-"

"Yeah, let's go. Pray the universe sets that thing on fire, kay?"

Her partner snorts. "Oh?"

"Fucking monster. Why the hell did the government let them into society, anyways? It just sickens me."

You stare.

The world is suddenly a blur.

You're running. Clearing the pond in two quick leaps, water splashing all over your clothes, legs, and arms. The woman has no time to react. You raise your arms high, high over your head, and bring them down on her shoulders, forcing her to lose her balance and stumble.

Eyes wild and glaring, you brandish a haughty middle finger down at her; she merely looks back with an astonished expression, chest heaving.

"Fuck you," you snap. "Fuck you!"

She swallows, completely confused and yet - defeated. Victory.

Oh, wait.

You forgot to note her partner, who's the devil in disguise as they tap lightly on your shoulder. Fuck.

"That was so worth it."

Goliath casts his arms out. "No it wasn't - you were seriously hurt! Since when did that make attacking a stranger worth it??"

You roll your eyes fondly, keeping your head still as Syntax assess the damage done to your face. Both adults had done a number with their fists, but you'd made sure to give them a hell of a time (curses and fists galore).

Funny, Goliath was the one to keep the children away.

What lessons did they learn, hmm?

"Goliath, chill. I'm fine," you say, closing your eyes under Syntax's instructions. The scientist asked zero questions, knowing perfectly well he'd get all his answers through Goliath's frantic explanation.

"Sure," the gentle giant huffs, regarding you defeatedly. He still looks enormous despite sitting down at the edge of the couch.

You frown. "Aww, don't be like that."

"Oh - yeah. Okay. I just . . . why did you get so mad?" He wonders.

Syntax catches your eye and deadpans. "If I may offer a guess; they don't use their brain before acting out. I'm fairly certain you've got one hell of an impulsive human on your hands, Goliath."

You huff. "Thanks, tech nerd."

"Just doing my job."

"Passing biased judgement isn't your job and you know it. Anyways." You ignore Syntax's irritable glance and open your eyes to face your spider demon. Brow furrowing, you lock eyes with Goliath and sigh; "They said some pretty awful things about you. I'm surprised you didn't say anything, like, didn't that all make you feel mad?"

Goliath blinks patiently. "Oh, sure. I just handle things differently."

"Thank God," Syntax mutters.

Huffing, you push the scientist aside, having assumed you're all fixed up (not before getting a sour complaint from the tech savvy). Hopping off the couch, you join Goliath on the floor.

"I just want you to know that what they say doesn't matter. Never will. You're not a monster."

As Syntax exits the room, Goliath lowers his gaze and nods.

"I know."

Pausing, you take his hand in yours (you're unable to fit his in both of yours combined, but it's honestly adorable). Tracing fond patterns into the purple skin, you smile up at him. "Good. 'Cause you're amazing and they're all gonna see that one day."

"Ehh . . . I wouldn't bet on it," Goliath says awkwardly.

You wink mischievously. "Ha! You know it's too late for that, dude."

"What's too late?"

Both of you glance over to find Huntsman walking past with the Spider Queen hot on his tail. He doesn't look too happy (to be fair, he never does), and regards you with a judgmental glare.

You shrug. "Nothing. It doesn't apply to you."

Goliath takes a second to realize what you mean, and when he does, he stares in astonishment. "(Y/N)!"

"Whaaaat?"

The Spider Queen breaks into an amused smile, eyebrows lifting. "Oh, was that a jest? Pretty sure it just flew right over Huntsman's head."

You nod respectfully. "Ah. Pity."

She snorts a laugh, and you turn back to Goliath. Score.

Today's been just swell.
