Is this a hot take? Maybe? I’d describe it as a “Reheated poorly in the microwave” take at best. But y’all, calm down. The writers are still the same, so are the VA’s, it’s gonna be a good show no matter what.

Also, be nice to the new animators. Unless you actually draw and/or animate, you have such little room to talk. And this isn’t hating towards Epithet Erased, I love Epithet Erased! I’m just pointing out that different or “lower quality” animation doesn’t mean it’s not good. The new animation looks fine, and have you forgotten some of the shots from the trailer?

Chang’e looking up at the broken sky? Beautiful! The first real look at the Hundred Eyes Demon? Immaculate! When Wukong is getting re-banded again? I feel bad for my favorite stupid smart person, but that shot slapped!

Give it a chance, you might be pleasantly surprised.

Random Spider Demon headcanons:

Spider Queen and her boys are not the last remaining Spider Demons. (Thank goodness.) Their numbers are very small compared to what they were in the past, and they’re a lot fewer than most demons, though. Instead, they’re scattered in small groups throughout China. It’s hard for them to find each other, but they’re aware of each other’s existence.

Spindrax is Spider Queen’s niece (from her twin sister) and left the nest years ago. She’s kind of off doing her own thing/looking for another group.

Similarly, Huntsman and Goliath are her nephews from her older sister.

Spider Queen was one of the Seven Spider Sisters. She was the youngest - she had a twin sister, but said sister kept insisting she was older (her egg hatched a whole thirty seconds earlier).

All Spider Demons can produce webs, but the quality of the webbing varies depending on the demon. Spiders like Huntsman and Goliath have incredibly strong webs for weapons or shields, but others might have softer and more delicate webs because they use it for weaving.

Spider Demons carry their children everywhere in the first few months of their life. Usually in a silk bag on their back or chest.

Full Spider Demons lay eggs. But a half (or less) Spider child is a live birth. (Do not think about it too long.)

Spiders are matriarchal. If Spider Queen were to have a consort, he’d still be called the king, but she’d be the one in charge. There would be no question.

Spider Queen’s spider body is a mobility aid. She can walk and stand on her human legs, but only for so long. She also likes the added height and intimidation upgrade the mech gives her.

It took the Spiders a long time to stop eating humans. They were one of the few city-dwelling demons that still did. (You see those empty silk cocoons in ‘Noodles or Death?’ Yeah…) After being rescued from Spirit Jail by MK and crew, part of the truce was they had to stop.

Huntsman can and has taken down game several times his size. He brought down a bear.

Spider Demons absolutely cannot survive without meat. There’s no such thing as a vegetarian Spider.

All four of our Spider Demons have nightmares about the furnace, Not the Mayor, and LBD. Spider Queen’s lasted longest.

Spiders adopt ‘strays’ and orphans into their group. Any Spider who’s alone, won’t be for very long. Spiders are also very protective of anyone they deem as ‘theirs.’

Spider courtship mainly involves giving gifts of food. Huntsman had to explain that to Sandy later. It was hilarious.

Spider Queen considers all the spiders in the caves to be her children - this one is sorta canon though as it was mentioned in one of the tie-in books. Prior to her attempt of fighting LBD, she sent them all away for their safety.

Goliath looks tough and can punch a hole in stone, but he’s a big softie.

And a horrible tragic one: once, Goliath and Huntsman were looking for a new home before Silken Web Cave was relocated to the sewers. They found one cave that showed signs of Spiders having once lived there, but it clearly had not been used in centuries. Then Huntsman found old eggshells from smashed eggs. He urged himself and Goliath out fast, and was pretty messed up by it for a few days.

Silly au idea

So you know how I came up with the idea of LDB reincarnating into Yuebei Xing in my "The Monkey King and the Infant" au?

I had a very silly/potientially adorable au idea that can fit into multiple fic ideas for the canon LMK verse >:)

Imagine this; The Lady Bone Demon has just been defeated. The heroes rejoice.

But her soul is still wandering.

Zipping towards the gang - who/what will the little icy soul be reborn as? Choose your adventure!:

Will it attach itself to the recently-reconcilled Sun Wukong and Macaque, becoming Yuebei Xing like in the au? Shadowpeach screaming ensues. (Yuebei/"Lunar Apogee" route)

Will it hit the closest human vessel - becoming the second unexpected child in Tang and Pigsy's lives? MK freaks out cus this means LBD will become his little sibling. (Bao/"Dumpling" route)

Will the unfrozen Demon Bull couple recognise the little soul flying around and jump to catch it - fufilling their desire for a second born? Red has many concerns. (Jīnzhēn/"Day-Lily" route)

The overzealous recently-revived Spider Gang jump to ensare the loose soul. The silk falling away to reveal a brand-new spider egg? Can includes developing Silktea and/or ToxicInsanity, and DesertSilk/VenomQueens shipping depending on whos minding the egg at the moment. (Shísuàn/"Spider-lily" route)

MK/Xiaotian, seeing the new soul as his responsibility, takes it upon himself? Literally. Including either no romance or developing Spicynoodles. (Yuèjì/"Chinese Rose" route)

Or...

All of the above occurs at once; the Underworld deeming the Bone Spirit's soul is better off being "split" multiple ways? ("Whoops" route)

Hi there, yeah I couple of ideas.

Spider queen finds out and gets PISSED, Syntax thinks she's angry about Huntsman betraying them. Nope. She's pissed that Sandy didn't come to ask her for permission.

Syntax:...but....I your majesty isn't courtnapping done you know... without permission?

Syntax: I isn't that the point

Spider Queen: Yes. But it still would have been respectful.

Spider Queen: Also now I have to rush to arrange a wedding that is worthy of a member of my court.

Spider Queen: The rush fee on flowers alone will be ridiculous

The others go other to help Sandy and as he's telling them everything about what happened and all of them realizing what Sandy's done looking between them... no-ones to sure if they should tell him or not.

MK: I mean Sandy's gotta know what he did right?

Mei: Yeah I mean who wouldn't know.

Mac: Oh no it can happen

MK... what?

SWK:*Cough*shut up*Cough*

Mac: I was saying a that someone can totally accidentally courtnap someone and not realize

* I know I’ve talked about this before but: flowers in Hunt’s hair and Sandy’s beard! Sandy also has his Mohawk laid down to one side and it looks very pretty

* Mo is the ring bearer

* MK and Mei are the flower people (it wasn’t planned originally but they drag Redson into it as well) ((part of me wants Goliath to also be a flower person but that’s simply way too many. But maybe he just carried the traffic light trio as they throw petals around lol))

* Spider Queen planned the whole thing (and she took in to account Sandy’s interests and aesthetics as well! Idk how she makes it (spider hunter and cat & tea loving sailor-therapist) work but I believe she can do anything)

* Pigsy is Sandy’s best man, ofc. I’m a bit conflicted on if Spider Queen or Goliath should be Hunt’s best man/maid of honor… hmmm…

* You decide lol

* Syntax programs a bunch of spider bots to serve as waiters/servers of sorts (MK takes some time getting used to them)

* He even made a robot cat as a wedding gift. Mo takes some time getting used to it

* Sandy cries. When he sees Hunts, at random intervals during the ceremony, at Hunt’s vows, at his own vows, etc you get the picture

* Hunt’s also cries during both vows, albeit a bit more subtlety than Sandy

* I think they both have bouquets. When they toss them each one goes to Spider Queen and Scorpion Demoness. They look to each other and smile softly (VENOMQUEEN WEDDING? VENOMQUEEN WEDDING!)

* Ofc all kinds of tea are served, but the kind Sandy originally gave Hunts is considered the Special Tea of the event

* Hunts: You know, food gifting is considered an act of courting in spider society Sandy: Really? Then I guess this was a long time coming then, huh? ^u^ Hunts, softly smiling: Yes, I suppose it was…

* A bit past the time I would probably put this but Hunts has to jump into Sandy’s arms to kiss him bc of the height difference lol. Syntax will never let him live this down

* Pigsy caters, ofc. Everyone is very well fed

* Let’s say Chang’e meets Sandy at some point and makes the wedding cake. How does it get from the moon to the earth? Idk, teleportation or something I just think they deserve a Chang’e cake (while on that topic let’s say she made the cake for the Freenoodles wedding too bc her and Pigsy are cooking bffs)

* Spider Queen couldn’t be happier for Hunts, even if he’s marrying a friend(?) of Sun Wukong’s

* Speaking of that monkey and his shadow counterpart: they both owe a lot to Sandy bc he probably helps them work out their issues and such so they help out a lot with the setting up and Wukong even allows the venue to be in a very nice spot on Flower Fruit Mountain. Macaque puts on some shadow plays for entertainment as well, mostly second hand retelling a of some of silktea’s moments (minus. The fighting. And such. Not the greatest wedding story lol-)

Lmk winter headcanons of the day!

• Whenever it's like really at night Mk will cuddle up next to Red son due to him being a fire demon.

• Whenever Peng is super cold in winter Azure wraps Peng in a blanket cacoon.

• Tang hogs all the blankets during winter luckily Pigsy has extra.

• Spindrax tends to get cold at times during winter but luckily Mei is like her personal heater and so she cuddles Mei.

• Huntsman doesn't like to admit he's cold but Sandy can always see through him and gives him tea, maybes some extra blankets and pillows.

• Mayor is usually the one to get cold and that's why Syntax always has extra blankets or pillows.

• Scorpion Demoness tends to get cold alot in winter and that's why Spider Queen gave a her a very warm blanket made out of silk. Scorpion Demoness loves it and keeps it in her bedroom.

• Sometimes whenever Wukong and Macaque both get cold they cuddle up next to each other for extra warmth.

Holy hell it's been a long time since I've made a Lmk headcanon.

As you've noticed I've added new ships and I hope you like them!
