I think its honestly REALLY funny how bioware just doesn't know what it wants. On one hand they say that the new game is fine for newcomers, the way they did for dai, and use this as an excuse for how dumbed down some of the writing is - but then in the other hand the majority of the characters and plot beats have origins hidden behind pay walls.

It was already bad enough when, to understand each game properly you had to have paid for the previous one's dlc (want to know anders' past as a warden? Buy awakening! Want to know wtf is up with Morrigan and the eluvians? Buy witch hunt! Want to know who tf corypheus is and what hawke and varric even have to do with him? Buy legacy! Want to understand ANYTHING about veilguard? Play the descent AND trespasser, our epilogue that we hid behind a paywall!!!!!) and you know at least the dlcs were pretty good on their own so I could forgive it a little bit.

But there's so much extra media now omg I haven't touched a single one of the comics because I'm not rly into American comics, I've read almost all the books and some of them are genuinely fucking mid. And at least back in the day the books were more... Bonuses? You DONT need to read the stolen throne to understand anything on the games, but it's INTERESTING. it explores characters you mightve been curious about. I love that ! Or the last flight is really interesting, just, to see how the 4th blight was beaten, to get to know those legendary heroes, and know why griffons went extinct. A bit annoying because you do need to read it to also understand how the hell they're coming back - but it still feels a bit more like a bonus than a necessity.

But then we have asunder, which also in general just kinda sucks as a book, that is really really needed to understand the mage rebellion, Fiona, Cole, and the cure for tranquility. The characters will explain a lot of those things to you in game, but it leaves you with the certain feeling that you're missing something. It's a huge advertisement for asunder.

Similarly wicked eyes and wicked hearts is hollow if you haven't read the masked empire which is also my least favorite book because it's so damn fucking boring I literally never managed to finish it, but it's mostly because I hate Trick Weekes' writing lmfao. Gaider was wildly misogynistic but my god at least he was entertaining as a writer whenever he didn't butcher female characters.

That's two major plot beats in inquisition that require reading one of the books. And ofc it's major villain and another major plot beat that require having played the previous game's dlc to properly understand.

And since then we've had so much more. I don't know. It's just complicated because I *like* book characters showing up and the books having importance in the sense that, I like reading and I'm a lore nerd lol. But I think there's a lot of frustration to be had as to the sheer quantity of extra media you need to consume if you want to be invested in the story. Because you could say "well just don't buy them then" but I LIKE dragon age, it's story, and plot, but omg some of the books and comics are also so hard to find and so EXPENSIVE. I think tevinter nights costs like 20£ if you want it on paperback rather than Kindle, and don't get me started on the dozens of comics.

At least the podcasts and discord only content isn't nearly as offensive, imo, because they're free. But also there's another issue with all of this extra content - it's that it doesn't get fucking translated. Not often, anyway. Not in as many languages as the games do. That means there are many, many many many players and fans who are just not allowed to learn more about their favorite game series because they don't speak English, because theyre not rich enough to buy 10 books and 20 comics. It feels a bit wrong

I really love the angels more on this game just because which I didnt get since I deleted the game before christmas and I dont really have solomon seals to get them lmfao, and gabriel is behind paywall.

I came from obey me, my bias if of course mammon so I need to get mammon in whb too but this game, unlike obey me actually made me love the other characters because of how much personality is there in each of them. Actually I got bored in this game. Theres so much farming and leveling to do and the energy thing is just not enough for me.

I love the characters of the game so I stayed in the fandom. The reason for my tumblr was to follow fanfic writers about whb but with their new update they're losing players. Listen, I have artist I follow that draw whb on twitter(example was the michael artist I follow) If this update continues then I Probably completely lose interest in game if those artist stops posting or deleted their account about whb.

I deleted the game yesterday before I find out about this update. (glad I deleted it because wtf)Those pancakes are my life. MF I got gamigin, satan, levi and mammon out of those and it was taken away.

To be honest if this was a chinese game then It might survive the gacha being paywall since chinese players most of the time dont care about money for some reason. But no. From what I see the game is mostly active in global, idk what they're doing but usually global is mostly f2p or doesn't spend as much.

The gacha being paywall could work of this is a openworld game like genshin or wuwa but its not, its a dating nsfw game that acts like a visual novel with gacha. Additionally, the game is like quite a lot in terms of storage?? Like??? Bud have NO REASON being that big.

It might because of the voicelines but like most of data also came with the events they do. Can we add deleting finished events data in game?? Cuz I will not be clearing data and reinstalling the game again.

From perspective of anyone with logic, spending A LOT of money for a gacha game that does not reward the player as much is not worth it.

Blud lets be honest here, the characters is only 2D animated art with voiceline. The battle is annoying and repetitive. The farming for tears is annoying for me. The 18+ room doesn't really express me much.

Spending those money in action figure or merch is much more worth it ngl

 so im drawing levi right, and i was giving him fish features bc duh. but then i was like wait..i don’t know anything about fish 😦 you cant accurately draw him with fish features if you don't know how Nevi wtf are you doing!! so i got to researching about different fish and trying to find one that would suit him bc we cant do my man Levi dirty. The first thing i found was this lil mf

cool right☝🏽if you dont know this is a Royal Gramma/Gramma Loreto ☝🏽🤓 and i was like this suits Levi so well, look at the colors 🙀 but wait, whats this other fish image that popped up next to it??  its royal grammas cousin the Royal Dottyback/pseudochromis paccagnelae 🤓 (they aren’t actually cousins or maybe they are ion know i aint a fish 🤷🏽)

they look a bit similar, but the difference that stood out to me the most was that the dottyback has BLUE eyes instead, which is perfect because Levis design has blue🙏🏽. I decided to do more research on these fish specifically because i think they make a lot of sense for levi personally and i found this handy dandy lil comparison chart 🤗

“wow Nevi these fish are so cool theyre perfect for Levi!” i know im a genius!/sar. i mix and matched some different physical traits from each fish to give Levi, like the dottybacks eyes, the grammas colors/patterns, etc. im not done drawing him yet ofc but i wanted to uhm share this bc i thought it was pretty neat. When i first started this fic i was so certain that the majority of all Clara's things were just misinterpretations from her followers that got passed down century to century but now atp idek. Im skipping ahead and I'll probs talk more about it at the end of the chapter but like Kristin literally touched Wilbur- Clara's never gotten that close to him. Though maybe it's bc she's not as strongly connected? On both ends... Im rambling here as I theorize so I might not phrase this correctly but, like. My first thought was Phil said blood helped her connect better to the living world, so maybe that's why she can be physically here and not Clara, but I also thought about how maybe it does affect the relationship whether it's mutual or not, right? Cause Phil chose to be with her, there's trust on both ends. Wilbur got thrown into it, and maybe that affects the magic of the connection or smth. Or Clara's a bitch lmaoooo. I always appreciate seeing the god of life being the antagonist. I feel like it's not gonna be black and white though, things are not often with you hahahaha.

I am certain though, that at least a large portion of the traditions they have (cough not being able to see the face cough) (just being treated as not a person lol), are things both misinterpreted or just plain ol made up to be able to better control the Pythia. I can not only see everything happening around me, I can feel it, as if I were there. I dunno, I just really appreciate all the tiny details you mention, and how you take care to remind us that his eyes are closed by describing the sounds around him, and how you mention him feeling odd when he winces bc of his face being numbed, like ik theyre not a big deal, but those details mean so much to me. They make everything feel so much more alive.

And the way you describe people's thoughts, they're so realistic rahhhhhhss. Your characters always feel truly human

I was definitely debating whether or not to start the chapter with him using wilbur, but it just felt right so I went with it and I'm very happy with the tone it gave because it provided such a good tone shift when phil showed up and wilbur switched back to using 'the pythia'. it's such a fun narrative tool to use, though it's definitely a bit exhausting to remember every time i refer to wilbur in narration i'm making a choice with how i refer to him. fun, but a lot to keep in my head

yeah no phil is not wilbur's long lost father or anything. I only think those kinds of twists work in very specific stories, otherwise it just feels like a cheap way to be like "look now these two have a biological reason to care about each other!" and really gives off the vibes of found family being less important than blood family

the thing is regarding wilbur's relationship to clara is that when contrasted with phil's relationship to kristin, i want it to be obvious that it's a two-way relationship. you have to put in what you wanna get out.

I know that when I read something, I want to be able to see the scene perfectly in my head, so I try to emphasize the facial expressions and body language and the setting they're in and all that to really immerse the reader in it
