im gonna start posting fanfic recs btw whenever i find good ones. both here and my (awfully barren) 18+ account. because there are so many good fics out there with so few hits and fewer kudos and sometimes no comments period and it SUCKS because i REALLY LIKE THEM A LOT.. and i hope that by linking them here and yelling at everyone to COMMENT DAMMIT they might actually do it

seriously though any comment means a lot. most people who read a fic don’t even give a kudos. even if the fic wasn’t top tier, if you didn’t dislike it, hand over some kudos!! and if you liked it, comment!!!! even if the comment is one singular heart emoji it will be appreciated. if the comment just says “great fic!” the author will be happy. your comment doesn’t have to be this long winded gushing or analysis.

so many authors quit writing or lose motivation because the comments are few and far in between or just sometimes nonexistent. trust me when i say authors don’t care about how long or cool or smart sounding your comment is i promise!!!

i experienced an entire new level of torture the other day in that i needed multiple emergent MRIs, so i had to be in the MRI machine for almost four hours back to back in total, completely awake and unsedated, and i couldn’t stop sneezing. you aren’t allowed to move.

at one point i FINALLY caved and pressed what is essentially a panic button (if you know you know), after 20 minutes of fighting back a fit and stifling back to back sneezes, knowing the scan was getting messed up from all the moving i was doing, only to be told “hang on two more minutes.” when i tell you that was the longest two minutes of my life.

the worst part of it was some random lady came at the last second as i was being pulled out of the machine to yell over and over, literally four times “why were you moving so much????” i was like ma’am, i was fighting for my life in there and y’all didn’t seem to mind 😭😭😭😭

and the ordo theoritas is functionally a secret organization. it would be SO EASY to gatekeep the lore, on grounds of "the federation is always watching and anyone could be a spy" and yet the ordo theoritas says that, like bad SAYS THAT, says OUT LOUD, "anyone could be a traitor" and then turns around and goes "hey person i've had a few days' worth of conversations with, here's a detailed rundown of everything we've learned about the island's mysteries, and the secret location of the ordo base". SOFIA was supposed to be secret from everyone, and for a little bit she was. but now like, the ordo theoritas is showing her to everyone. it would be SO EASY to hide things and to gatekeep things but they just. don't do it. here's the supercomputer!!!! don't forget to grab her waystone so you can come back anytime!!!

bad learns something. "i need to tell forever/cellbit/baghera". forever figures out a new way to protect the eggs, and he gets it to everyone within days. cucurucho tries to have a secret conversation and the entire server knows about it almost instantly and there are three people buried in the walls reading the subtitles and giving each other meaningful glances

i love it. i love it. miscommunication plotlines drive me up the fucking wall and the fact that i wasn't even SCARED when jaiden and baghera could easily have angled into an angsty tangled web of that and instead just MET WITH EACH OTHER AND EXPLAINED EVERYTHING AND CLEARED THE AIR ALMOST IMMEDIATELY was so fucking breathtaking. and this is a multilingual server. this is a MULTILINGUAL SERVER. i love it. i love it so much i want to cry. it's a server for communication and people Communicate, it would have been SO EASY to slip into monolingual factions and stick to the familiar but they DIDN'T. they DIDN'T. WE GET TO HAVE A THEORY TABLE WITH SO MANY LANGUAGES SITTING AROUND IT. we get to have conspiracy walls in every language!!!! idk sometimes i forget how fucking CRAZY all this is, like the scale of what they've accomplished

and of course because it's leo he's goading him on and giddy about finally seeing him lose his patience because he thinks him snapping is inevitable. he'd kind of dismissed the idea already that this guy was dangerous (donnie can physically defend himself, he's just worried about emotionally), but he knew there had to be something. he can't just be effortlessly nice all the time. he gets upset when everyone drags them away from each other. i think tim manages to punch him once and leo is so shocked by the genuine right hook to the face that he doesn't even fight back, which is probably a good thing because he's a killing machine and tim's a squishy little human

anyways i think they talk about it later when everything's cooled down, and once leo gets to dissect tim's reasons for getting so upset there's a bit of a tentative peace formed between the two. he does respect him for not taking shit now that he realizes that tim thought he was insulting donnie by saying that. their motivations are similar in the end. i dont think they ever end up good friends, but i think the adversity in their relationship ends up as an almost affectionate thing they do. they just both assumed the other was malicious at first LOL

oh and his ears are expressive, dunno how that works but it does! and he also never goes a day without wearing earrings! he prefers the ones he came with but doesn't mind wearing whatever as long as he has earrings haha

Ok guys, I'm officially CANCELLING the 'is lily a social climber' discourse. And I'm sorry but I don't think I'll reply to all the 'here's my opnion on why lily sucks' essays in my inbox haha, but I encourage you to write out your opinions on your blogs.

I think I've made my arguments on this topic pretty clear by now, a few times in fact. So I just don't want to have to repeat myself over and over. I don't think Lily is a social climber lol, and I think the 'evidence' for it in the text is flimsy at best and actively contradicted by a lot of the information we're given about Lily in canon. And (from what I've observed) a lot of this seems based on pretty silly and unfair assumptions about Lily. Like 'she was one of slughorn's favourites that means she's a social climber' is a huge reach imo, but anyway, pls continue to write 'Lily is a social climber' AUs if that's what you want.

My honest opinion is that none of this is based in canon though, unless you're jumping to the worst possible reading of everything Lily does. Which you can certainly do, I'm just not at all convinced.

I know I'm pretty open to discussion and disagreement on here. But I also do have my limits. Lily is a character I am very fond of, I think that's pretty obvious. For perspective, imagine your favourite character was Harry, and your inbox was just full of screeds about Harry being a homophobe because once he was rude to Dumbledore. Stupid example lol, but you get it. I don't think it's hate or maliciously done, but it is a little wearing. That's all.

okay so ages ago on the Bird Hellsite I saw someone make a coat entirely out of worm on a strings so now we have that incredibly cursed mental image right. My question to you is who in the TTA cast would be most likely to wear that thing and why is it Steve?

Oh, I met someone who did that a few years ago! Might have been the same person tbh.

I think a number of the minor characters would happily wear it, but the one most likely to make it would be Ash from the ghost hunting arc. Steve would wear it too, but Adam could make it work.

I had a grudge for years against worm on a string though... It was 2014. Flying across the country with my art class for the final judging of a competition. New York City, baby. Every day was constant activity; always going to a different event, a different activity, a different project...

And the stage was set: A small budget for the ILNY tourist store, two exhausted teenagers, and a misleading ad. The sound was off, and without captions we were left to assume... And we believed if the worms got wet, they would squirm. It made sense why they were $20 with technology like that.

Me and my best friend bought the worm on a string. We named him... Hal. It was all we talked about that day, the anticipation of getting back to the hotel.

Finally we get to our room. I was more excited about this than about being in the top 5 for a contest with a $50,000 prize. We opened the package, deterred by none of the signs, confirmation bias in full force... What's this string? Oh, it must be so they don't squirm away and get lost!

Fools.

Two fools standing over the bathroom sink, Hal in ones hands, and the other turning on the faucet. Nothing. A gentle shake of the lifeless soggy body. Still nothing.

And then the dawning realization: The worm was never gonna squirm around. We were duped.

How could we let that go... For years, I didn't.

I've since developed a fondness. It was never Hal's fault. We were exhausted, not thinking straight, and we blamed him for our own failure. I can only try to make amends... But I truly believe Hal never held resentment in his fuzzy blue heart.

Anyways we got second place and then the next year we won but that's less important.

its so funny to get asked this knowing that I can't reveal too much about Neves without spoiling a bunch of things from my fic, despite that I would love nothing more to spill all her lore......what I CAN tell you is that she was sent to the Lands of the Old Faith for a very particular reason and she's kept safe by the Lamb for a reason too. She comes from a pastoralist/agrarian upbringing and spent the entirety of her life in this profession (hint hint). Livestock, land cultivation, and the demoralizing poverty in a society that does not value such work and considers it a degrading role for outliers! you know, the usual. She talks like a farmer and a butcher, which is how u get silly stuff like THIS happening when she's getting to know the Lamb and their Flock:

(She's talking like a butcher here, which obviously is off-putting for the Lamb, mostly because they can't quite gather context, and she does....make a lot of jokes like this but. She's just human you know!)

Neves is firm in her convictions and is stubbornly attached to the idea of her own righteousness. She's just too smart to be misled.

Look I know it’s fun to act like Johnny’s just a hater but the truth is that he’s the only one who seems to even realize that Diego *is* lowkey evil. The way it’s framed in the Scary Monsters arc sort of makes it seem like he’s exaggerating about Diego’s behavior, but as the part goes on Diego keeps proving his worst predictions right over and over again. He cheats and backstabs people all the time. Yet for some reason ppl act like Johnny is crazy for not trusting him? like im sorry but if I saw my ex situationship eating rocks and murdering people left and right via negligence I also wouldn’t want to touch him with a thirty nine and half foot pole
