Some character layouts I got to make for the official Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven trailer! Such an honor to work on the lamb itself 🐑

not to be too crass but I love how yonic the imagery of Yngya’s middle unopened eye is. That’s pussy, baby!

Does Goat like to use their head when fighting in crusades, like a charging ram? (AU question)
Yes, not only in crusades, but with some followers too lol

Unholy alliance spoilers
I do love the narrative arcs for the bishops, I really do. But I think it’s so funny, that, yes, the bishops have closure—they love each other, they care about each other so deeply, they lament the past and what they have done to each other (and I guess by extension the Lamb). It’s very sweet, and tbh, I think it’s very nice that at the end of it, the ex-bishops only need each other to remain happy and content.
At the same time……where is closure for the Lamb? That’s all well and good that the ex bishops see the Error in how everything had gone down but….
like the Lamb must just be like oh it’s so good :) how you are all happy :) with your family :) oh this is your home? That must be nice. It must be wonderful to have a home and a family :) No I do not feel a pit of agony in my stomach as my entire species is dead and that this ‘family’ is predicated upon my manipulation and intimidation, therefore always bringing a barrier between me as an individual and me as the God :) no this ascendancy into godhood didn’t warp my view of love being only in the lens of worship and how I can no longer connect to others around me (beneath me!) on a genuine level. I’m fine. I’m sooo fine :) what is ‘home’ for me?

Look at the little guys floating around!!
Tumblr media
But I have this idea in my mind where Lamb treats them like their baby siblings just so the little lambs have the chance to know what’s like to have an affectionate older sibling 💙❄️❄️

now I can reveal some of my headcanons:
Sheepfolk have two major social roles in their respective clans: Shepherd and Guardian. Shepherds are cultural and religious custodians, responsible for passing down cultural / historical / religious traditions to the youth and to sustain records through both oral and written. This can range from flower divination (sheep’s bit and lamb’s ear have Meaning for example), the mythos of sheepkind etc. often times, children spend more time with the Shepherd than with their own parents. Guardians are physical protectors of the clan, more often with a background in the merchant class and physically hardy, and serves as a mediator in civil affairs and familial conflicts, such as property, marriage, dowry etc. They are voted into the role by the clan elders. Both roles are also non-gendered.
(Though similar somewhat in subject, the human and Sheepfolk definition for Shepherd developed independently. wink)

It’s so fun to get swept up in the emotional wave of getting to know sheepkind and Lamb’s connection to it / their ancestors (?) and then getting a hard wall of “remember they are also a cult leader. that is their day job” like oh Most Sad Creature Alive…..what can be done about you

Expanding: since it is revealed that Sheepfolk use red as the primary color of their traditional clothing, I’ll just briefly talk about my hcs about their clothing prior to this reveal. In my head, the 3 colors their traditional clothing centering around were: green (think sage or a more muted shade), yellow (bright, warm), and the particular blue shade of the flower Sheep’s Bit. The green represented the grass of the Home Pasture (the ‘origin’ place of Sheepfolk), and Yellow as the warmth of the sun. Sheep’s Bit in (sheep)folklore is used to ward off sickness. Mother ewes would drape them over their Lambs when theyre pretty young since they’re especially prone to illness in that period of life. but it would also bring many bees (the lambs did not like that 💔) and thus keep the meadows full of flora. So Sheep’s Bit symbols would be embroidered in clothing and rugs, and anything that could be used for protection of the home.
The green can also be seen as the color of the Lamb’s Ear plant, which is used medicinally as well—for wounds. Lamb’s Ear is also embroidered as a symbol of Healing.
