Bestie I have yet another theory! So you know how we’ve been saying that at the next recoupling Suresh is gonna saving mc from being dumped? I was thinking that maybe after the fact mc tries to go up to him to thank him and he interrupts her and is like “I did you a favor. That’s all. Now we’re even” basically just shutting her down and not so subtly telling her that he doesn’t want to pursue her anymore. Then mc respects that and just continues to avoid him for the next couple of days and then all of a sudden casa amor happens. And since Suresh basically told mc he’s not interested anymore mc takes full advantage of the situation and brings someone back at the stick or switch recoupling but then mc sees that Suresh didn’t bring anyone back and she’s like why not? And he tells her that he made (yet another) mistake and that none of the girls got her off his mind. (I think this would at the very least make a good fanfic but I see Suresh as someone hella stubborn so I don’t see him changing over night into the perfect bf…. And obviously from the spoilers we know he isn’t lol)

I'm combining this beautiful theory with the one that we're almost positive that Suresh's mistake is going to come in as a Casa Girl. Like, imagine MC's been giving him the space he thought he wanted and then suddenly she's in Casa and suddenly She Who Shall Not Be Named is in the Villa and it sends him into a spiral.

And she's laying it on thick because of course she is, she wants to get into the Villa and she just assumes that Suresh is the way to do it. But then he's realizing how much he resents her. This is the girl he threw MC away for and she's nothing like what he wants. This is all going to sound a bit rambly but I can 110% see him looking at this girl standing in front of him and hearing the things she's saying and realizing he really fucked up. Badly. Because she is nothing like the girl that he flirted with for months.

Additional theory I just came up with because I'm insane but I think it adds a lot: imagine MC came into the bar one time with Suresh and this girl immediately knows who she is because MC, in her mind, ruined her career. Maybe she's an aspiring model and it was down between her and MC for a spot with an agency and they picked MC and this girl is seeing her on magazines, in runway shows, just living her best life while she's stuck waitressing at this bar. (Could be applicable to so many different jobs, but I think you catch my drift.)

Idk I just love a good revenge plot and I could totally see this girl relentlessly pursuing Suresh on the off chance that she can get back at MC somehow. And she's waiting for the right moment when she can take advantage of the rift between them and she finds it and that's when the incident happens.

But back to Casa, I think she would totally be in his ear telling him that MC is cracking on with the boys there and blah blah blah, just trying to get him to give up on her so she can get into the Villa. And this is someone who would have been watching the show and watching Suresh say that he's not going to give up on MC (and who knows what he's saying in the Beach Hut, probably being even more pining for her and wishing he knew how to fix things). But Suresh is adamant that he doesn't want anyone else except for MC, and even if she does come back with another boy, at least it will show her that he was loyal.

OH GOD imagine the conversation he has with MC on the daybeds when she comes back. I'm melting just thinking about it. And he actually takes responsibility for pushing her away and making her feel like she needed to crack on (omg, can you believe it? Suresh taking accountability?). And he opens up about how her wanting to propose threw him so hard because it made him realize how badly he'd messed up by cheating on her, and it was the first time he's really been forced to think about how his actions had been more impactful than he'd originally thought, and it forced him to realize that he was going to have to do a hell of a lot of groveling to fix what he'd broken between them.

Caleb Widogast is a jumpy, jumpy man. You assume it’s for good reason - he’d confided in the group that he met Nott in jail and, well, typically people don’t go to jail unless they’ve done something.

(Although, the more that you adventure with the Mighty Nein you’re not so sure that’s true. It seems like corruption runs deep in the Empire, and you’ve only scratched the surface.)

Still, he is far jumpier than even Nott, and she’s a goblin in the Empire. You watch him, sometimes, and cringe when he flinches. It’s not pity that makes you start being nice to Caleb, but that does color your actions in the beginning. You are of the firm belief that he is a good person, that all of the Nein are, and that they deserve kindness. Caleb most of all. He is so hard on himself and no amount of coaxing from the rest of the group can get him to ease up. Not even Nott, and she functions as his pseudo-mother. But you want him to loosen up, want more of those moments where he makes a joke with a straight face, only to crack a small smile when the group looks away from him. (You try not to look away, craving those moments where you can see the smile light up his face.) When your group arrives in Zadash, you make it your mission to get Caleb to feel some sort of positive emotions about himself.

Or some sort of positive emotion that’s not scarred by whatever happened in his past. You want him to be happy, to heal from whatever keeps him held back from joking with the rest of you. It doesn’t even matter if he reciprocates how you feel about him - you don’t really care. You can love him from afar, be kind to him, and that will be enough for you. He doesn’t have to fall in love with you like you’ve fallen in love with him, really, that’s not why you’re doing this. This being stopping by Pumat’s shop to pick up some more spell scrolls for him with your gold. He had been muttering to himself the last time you were all in about not having enough money, but you hadn't wanted to embarrass him by purchasing them on his behalf, so a separate trip it is. Pumats, all of them, seem to know what you’re doing because they smile when you tuck the scrolls under your cloak and sweep out of the shop.

Your next stop is an ink shop, where you pick up some more ink and incense for Caleb. You’re not really sure how his magic works because it’s not something he was born with or given by a God, but you know that he’s always looking for good ink, parchment, and incense. Just because you don’t understand doesn’t mean that you can’t be supportive. You hope that’s what Caleb will get out of your gift, and not anything else. After you gather the magic supplies - you’d asked specifically for the things that wizards use just to make sure - you make your way to the Chastity’s Nook. Maybe Caleb was joking about wanting to be titillated while he learns, but you feel better safe than sorry.

The worker there is incredibly nice, if not shy, and helps you pick out something educational, historical, and terribly smutty. It makes you blush when you glance through it, but it seems to be the right balance of the things that Caleb has expressed interest in before. (Even if that might be fake - you’re not totally sure. Still, it can not hurt to try.) She even wraps it up nicely for you, offering to wrap your other gifts too. That might be too much, so you decline, but you still pass her a few more silver as a tip. You’ve never been so nervous as you are when you make your way back to the tavern where you’re staying, but it’s almost easy to keep your cool and mask the absolute terror you feel when Caleb is sitting with the group, eating dinner. You were kind of counting on him being in his room, reading, but you don’t let his sudden appearance stop you. Jester spots you first, patting the empty seat between her and Nott, calling your name. You slip into it, easily concealing your gifts behind your back. “Where did you go?”

A sly smile slips onto your face as you reach forward, taking a portion of the food they’d ordered, “Oh, you know, around.”

“You smell like perfume,” Beau leans over Nott and sniffs you, making a slightly disgusted face, “Why do you smell like perfume?”

“I went shopping,” You cut in before Jester and Molly can interject with salacious theories, “That shopping happened to be in the Tri-Spire, thank you very much.” Caleb raises an eyebrow, sharing a look with Fjord, but you ignore it. “What did you guys do today?” You don’t really listen - only enough to hum or nod as they’re speaking - because you’re focused on figuring out a plan to get your gifts to Caleb without the others noticing or making him feel like you’re doing it out of pity, or that he owes you. You just want him to be happy that he’s getting a gift. It’s later, when everyone has cleared out, that Jester shakes your shoulder lightly, calling your name.

“Are you okay?” Her dark blue eyebrows pull down over her eyes, incredibly worried, “You didn’t talk at all during dinner.” You take her hand in yours, squeezing it briefly.

“I’m fine, Jessie. I think I might head to bed, though.” You give her a hug before heading up to your room, looking over your shoulder just before you hit the stairs to see if Caleb had gone to bed when you had zoned out. He’s easy to find in the corner, nose deep in a book, and you grin. That makes everything so much easier, especially since Nott is tucked into the booth next to him. That means that their room is completely empty and a perfect place to drop the gifts without any of the unnecessary baggage that might come with giving them to him face to face. You don’t even think about the fact that he might have warded his room until it’s too late. (That being until you watch the string snap around your ankles when you make it four steps into the room.)

But, damnit, you have a mission to complete. There’s at least a minute before Caleb makes it to the stairs and perhaps another half a minute before he hits the door. You set the things up on what you think is Caleb’s bed a little messier than you wanted but you’re running out of time. The door is a no-go to leave, and you can hear Caleb bounding up the steps. You whirl, tugging your cloak tightly around you as you debate jumping through the window instead of opening it. In the end that will just draw an entirely different reaction than you want, so you settle for slamming the window up and slinging one leg over the sill. Caleb’s room is on the second floor, so the fall might hurt a little bit, but Caleb is right outside the door, so you don’t have any other choices-

“Was machst du in meinem Zimmer!?” He bellows, hands already engulfed in flame, when he kicks the door open. It startles you off of the window sill, luckily into the room instead of out. You pop up, hands raised and already talking.

“Okay, I don’t know what you’re saying but I didn’t know you had your room warded, I was just trying to give you the things that I bought you today, and then by the time I realized it was too late because I couldn’t just leave without giving you the stuff, because then you’d be scared-” Caleb extinguishes the flames that had started to crawl up his arms, shutting the door as he comes closer to the bed. You scramble to your feet, snagging your cloak in your hands to twist it nervously. “-I should leave now, excuse me.” You do your best to skirt around him but Caleb holds up a hand, eyes on the pile of loot you’ve left on his bed. He wraps a warm hand around your wrist to keep you in place as he tries to process what’s happening.

“What is on my bed?” Caleb finally looks toward you then, eyebrows furrowed as he watches you nervously fidget with your robe, biting your lower lip. “I am not mad, but what do you mean things you bought me?” He gestures loosely with the other hand and you take a step closer to him and the bed. You weren’t ready for being confronted with Caleb, despite how much you thought about what you might say to him in a situation like this. You almost swallow your tongue trying to figure out what to say to him.

“I bought you things,” You blurt, “Because you deserve it. So, discord was too hype this fine evening, and my lovely JoJo compatriots got me going on this crackship.

(If you ship a crack pairing and you KNOW it’s a crack pairing, this ones for you lmao! Live your dreams, boys 🤠 this is fanfiction)

Yeah, so here’s my little AbbaMis scenario raw and unedited. All I ask is that you humor me for a sec 😂 

Okay so boom: let’s say it’s some time post-series and everyone lives, yay right? Wrong! Because Abbacchio is still stuck pining after Bruno and you know what Bruno does? This dude gets MARRIED! The ship has sailed and Abbacchio never got on it. He can’t be upset because, he loves Bruno for real so if his old Capo is happy then Abba is too (insert air-quotes). He considers skipping the wedding but Mista won’t let him. The two have formed this weird friendship thing since Bruno is no longer affiliated with the mafia. Mista has assumed the role of helping Abbacchio stay afloat given the circumstances.

Abbacchio manages to suffer thru the wedding (he vomits only once so he calls it a win). All the festivities happen and it’s over. Abbacchio is hurting bro, like he’s losing sleep, can’t eat or function. He’s actually LOVESICK! Fast forward some months and he and Mista are on a mission. They’re staking out some building (a rival gang’s HQ, idk lmao).

It’s midnight, they’re both sitting in the car, nothings happening. But you know how Mista gets, this dude loves to have random conversations. So somehow (by magic probably) Mista gets Abbacchio to talk about his high school days. About how he used to wear dark, grunge makeup and lipstick, etc. They talk about the stupid shit they did as youth and eventually they fall on the topic of love.

It ain’t no secret that Abbacchio loved (loves?) Bruno. Mista knows this and tries to get him to open up. (I have this theory that Mista’s silliness makes it easy for ppl to confide and talk to him). Abba opens up and actually breaks down crying. Like smeared mascara, bleeding eye liner. He says one thing that nearly breaks Mista in two.

“I fell so in love with him. And I-I fucking thought he would catch me, but he didn���t.”

Mista pulls him in for a hug, because that’s all he knows how to do. When Fugo is having a hard time, when Narancia’s going thru shit, even Giorno on a rare occasion, Mista will come thru with the hugs!!! So he’s petting Abbacchio’s hair (the hat falls off lmao). And Abba is just sobbing into his sweater, nearly drenching the thing. Mista starts to worry because, humans shouldn’t be able to produce this many tears, right? But then he remembers that this is YEARS of stockpiled pain, regret, and self-loathing.

Suddenly Abbacchio shoves him off. He’s wiping at his face, which is a whole red (makeup-smeared) mess by now. Mista just levels him with a look, like stop building these walls around you, bro, you’re trapped!

“You judging me now, Mista?” Abbacchio sneers, but if anything he looks like a cornered animal.

“Dude, of course not. I would never...”

Mista scrubs his head with his nails, through his beanie before pulling it off an fanning himself with it (car ain’t got no AC).

Abbacchio is silent, brooding and put out but mostly regretting his outburst. He’s thinking ‘Fuck, this is pathetic, even for me’

Thankfully, they don’t bring it back up. They don’t talk about it but neither of them really forget. So it just sits in the back of both of their minds. Simmering and building up to... something, but they don’t know what. It’s a door that’s been kicked wide open and they can’t shut it.

To cut a very long and convoluted story short: They all share a house (in this stupid scenario) and it’s a rare chance where only the two of them are home. Mista eats dinner and promptly conks out. He swears only five minutes pass before there’s a knock at his door. Glancing at his clock, he sees it’s been about two hours and it’s thundering like crazy outside so much that it’s rattling against his window.

He stumbles to open the door, it’s Abbacchio. But not just that, this is Abbacchio bare-faced and au natural. No heavy makeup or dark lipstick. Just him and his little freckles, ash white eyebrows, and pink lips.

“You gonna let me in, or are you just gonna stare at me like a zoo animal?” Abbacchio mumbles.

Mista snorts and steps aside so Abbacchio can come in. He’s still half asleep and he’s not even sure this is real or not lmao. It’s only when Abbacchio takes a seat on his bed that he realizes that he is awake and this is actually happening. Mista suddenly remembers he’s only in his boxers so now he feels a bit self conscious. Abbacchio isn’t staring or anything—but it’s still weird as hell.

“Was there...something you needed?” Mista yawns. Abbacchio doesn’t reply but he’s doing that thing where he expects Mista to just figure it out.

But it’s like 2am, and raining, and he honestly doesn’t have the patience to just wait and see what happens.

Mista nudges Abba aside and pulls back the covers, “Alright, get in.”

Abbacchio wants to argue, his face says it all, but he really doesn’t want to be alone right now so he complies. Mista gets in after him and you know what this guy does? BIG SPOON! To him, it’s the same as hugging and hugging has worked all this time so what’s the problem?

He snakes his arms around Abbacchio’s waist and pulls him in. Even tucks his chin on his shoulder.

“Comfortable?” Mista asks.

“Y-Yeah...”

For a split second, Abbacchio closes his eyes and imagines its someone else holding him like this. That it’s someone else holding him like they actually want him rather than letting him fall hopelessly in love just to abandon him.

Doing this to Mista isn’t fair. Mista isn’t a replacement, but a friend. A loyal one who’s been there literally every step of the way. 

In a lapse in judgement, he brings Mista’s hand to his lips and kisses it. Mumbling a ‘thank you’ against his wrist.

namjoon actually sorted the members in their respective houses a long time ago himself. (not sure if it’s still accurate now, but i think what he wrote back then was all true.) also as a side note, these are my opinions, so you don’t necessarily have to agree with them! and aLSO i think there’s a common misconception going around with new harry potter fans. your hp house is NOT what you are the most—it’s what you VALUE the most! i’ll explain more later

GRYFFINDORS

seokjin

seokjin has always been a bit easy for me to categorize in terms of hp house

he just screams gryffindor to me

he tries to do what’s right

he’s the oldest in the group so he’s always taking care of his younger brother-like figures

he does his best to make sure the other members feel safe and comfortable in new environments (that’s why he cracks so many corny jokes—to break the ice!)

though he’s not the official leader of bangtan, he does a LOT of behind the scenes leadership work

i think seokjin can be mistaken as a hufflepuff (just because he’s so friendly and kind) BUT this is where the values come in. seokjin might have some hufflepuff-like traits, but he actually values the gryffindor traits even more. he values his passions, his confidence, his valiance

he doesn’t take himself too seriously, but he knows what’s right and wrong (great moral compass)

that puts him in gryffindor

namjoon

i’ve literally seen so many pple put joon in ravenclaw just because he has an insanely high iq

but i mean,,, as a ravenclaw myself, i don’t see him in my house

yes, namjoon is creative, yes, he is intelligent, and YES! he is indeed insightful!! BUT,,, it all comes down to his values

namjoon uses his intelligence, his creativity and insight for the good of everyone! he’s a team player (not an individualist, as most ravenclaws tend to be)

and, not to mention, he’s bangtan’s official leader, and he does extremely well with that extra responsibility (gryffindors are great leaders)

namjoon tries so hard to do what’s right

he doesn’t try to cut corners to get to his goals. he’s very moral and fair

he likes peace and justice

gryffindors are drawn to good morals (they’re always trying to fix what’s wrong too)

hoseok

hoseok is so easy for me to categorize, but i’ve seen him be sorted into gryffindor sometimes

i don’t think he’d be in gryffindor, though. hoseok is someone who doesn’t exactly like the idea of *risks*

gryffindors are all about risks (stereotypically they don’t think about the consequences that much because all they want to do is wrong the right)

hoseok (though he is passionate and charismatic) is more fit for hufflepuff

he’s bright, kind and always has something nice to say

the persona he puts on in front of the camera is close to his real personality—he’s just a sunny person in general

what makes him such a hufflepuff is the fact that he’s so hardworking! hoseok just dOES NOT give up (he’s extremely loyal to the people in his life, and he’s loyal to his talents too)

he chased after his dancing talents and look where he is right now

he wasn’t originally a rapper but he practiced and practiced until it became one of his talents

he’s dependable, honest and values friendship

hufflepuffs are people’s persons. and hoseok is just that—A GIFT TO THE PEOPLE

taehyung

taehyung’s the hardest one to put in a house in my opinion. he’s what you’d call *divergent* (and yes, in theory, everyone is divergent. we ALL have traits of ALL FOUR hp houses. BUT there are some people who exemplify all four traits more equally than others. so now, it all comes down to what taehyung values the most)

taehyung, in my eyes, is such a people’s person. that makes him a strong candidate for hufflepuff

the tae that i know has many friends—and he’s extremely good at reading people too (like his vibe check DO BE trustworthy)

hufflepuffs are often underestimated because they’re written canonnly as just being “nice”

hufflepuffs are much more than that. hufflepuffs are essentially gryffindors but with higher eq LOL (hufflepuffs would ONLY right the wrong if righting the wrong didn’t hurt anyone on the ‘wrong’ side—does that even make sense??)

tae is someone i see as extremely trustworthy—he’s someone who’d die WITH your secrets

he’s also very emotionally available to the people in his life

therefore,,, i sort tae into hufflepuff

RAVENCLAW

jungkook

ravenclaws are intelligent, insightful and most of all, they value creativity!!

jungkook is the staple ravenclaw

i can’t see him in any other house

like if i see jungkook, i see ravenclaw. they are literal synonyms

ravenclaws are stereotypically jack-of-all-trades because they genuinely enjoy learning new things

i mean,,, jungkook’s lowkey perfect right? he’s good at everything right? yeah it’s because he has the thirst to LEARN! he wants to be good at everything! that’s such a mf ravenclaw trait

jungkook’s naturally curious; he likes to poke at new things because he wonders what it’ll be like to learn about it and do it himself

ravenclaws are also stereotypically the “artsy” kids (and i mean, this man can DRAW)

ALSO! just because ravenclaws get called jack-of-all-trades often, it doesn’t mean they’re good at EVERYTHING. it means that they’re good at what they’re interested in!! (jungkook doesn’t exactly care too much about math, which is totally fine! he has his other interests)

ravenclaws are smart, yes, but just because you’re smart, doesn’t mean you’re necessarily a ravenclaw. (i.e. hermione isn’t open-minded enough to be ravenclaw.) being a ravenclaw doesn’t mean you just read a lot lol. it means you read a lot AND you take the adventures from the protagonist in the book and then apply it to yourself. hence, the *imagination*

SLYTHERINS

yoongi’s also really easy to sort

i mean, the man screams slytherin

a slytherin would do anything (maybe even cross a few rules) to get to his desired end result

some people call it evil (usually gryffindors and hufflepuffs), but i call it working smarter not harder (to slytherins, it’s not immoral to cut a few corners to get to their desired result—if they don’t get caught, that is)

if yoongi were not slytherin, he would not have cut corners in those bts run episode games LMAO (icon behavior)

slytherins also value individuality (like ravenclaws) but in a COMPLETELY different way. ravenclaws love to be unique because with their insight, they conclude that everyone has dealt with different experiences, making them their each, special person. slytherins like to be individualists because they like to feel special (sometimes paired with a superiority/god complex BUT i don’t think that’s necessarily bad. but slytherins do tend to be more close-minded than ravenclaws; slytherins value tradition)

in turn, slytherins find more success than ravenclaws. sometimes, ravenclaws step back when they find that their ideals will be replaced with success. slytherins would rather replace/reform their ideals to find success (i.e. yoongi became an extremely successful idol rapper when he could’ve actually just become a producer instead)

slytherins also tend to have trust issues. they don’t like to trust others except for themselves (smart, really)

yoongi is very self-driven and self-reliant, making him a perfect slytherin candidate

personally, jimin was easy to place in slytherin, BUT i’ve seen a lot of pple put him in hufflepuff

jimin’s just a naturally giggly, bubbly person

anyways, to answer your other question,,,

i’ve mentioned before that everyone is *divergent* 

of course i have all four traits of the hp houses, but the traits aren’t very equal for me. i have all the traits of ravenclaw, hufflepuff aNd slytherin. except i’m not very gryffindor. i have a few gryffindor traits, yes, but i don’t value them as much as my other traits. with that said, it’s hard for me to acclimate in environments where people value things that i don’t necessarily find as important

i think it’d be best for me to be in ravenclaw (just because every ravenclaw i know has been my best friend). i think i’d also do well in slytherin (but sometimes, i can’t handle their intense ambition lol). i’m also a good hufflepuff candidate, but i don’t think i could trade up being a ravenclaw for that

in the end, your house is your choice (it’s what you value the most)

i would like to say i’m friendly, ambitious and creative. but when it comes down to it, i’m picking my creativity and RUNNING. so no, i would not change my house. never! i’m a solid ravenclaw!!

They’re mostly about the unrequited/unbalanced nature of their relationship --not that I don’t understand, especially on Alex case; but Kyle’s my favourite out of all of them here, and the fact that both these relationships are used to contain his storyline (more with Liz than with Alex; that, for what I’ve seen, is more of a fandom thing, where some people only see Kyle as Alex’ cheerleader and defender and not as a character in his own right beyond their relationship).

Like, there’s devotion from Kyle I don’t see in Liz and so far in Alex, and that I doubt will ever show. Which I don’t blame on either of them because that’s just how things are sometimes, but. Again, when my fave is on the wrong side of that, it can bother me.

ahhh it’s finally here and it’s AWESOME. Lots of credit to @ifalnasminiatures for bringing this to my attention! Also credit to Hayder Hype for providing (nat zero six on gearbox forums) sources (Ashley Landry on twitter) in the description of his video because oh man it’s a lot

lots to talk about especially regarding the calypso twins so let us dive right in

tl;dr: tyreen has a weird red marking on her face in some old designs. i think troy used to be blind and missing his metal plates. more proof for my elpis/chemical sludge/lost legion theory that the twins are using said chemical sludge to give their followers psuedo-siren powers bc a dahl pumping station (hyperion pumping stations on pandora) but dahl had a presence on the moon

one of my favorites, it reminds me a lot of the Mask of Mayhem, but for villains.

Punk Girl is shown again twice, probably further proving she’s tied in with the CoV somehow

we also got some crazy looking villains such as

baby face. which is all kinds of extremely fucked up

this dude who looks like he could be a miniboss with the glasgow smile and the cool goggles

this guy who i legitimately thought was dr zed for a hot second there

this girl who seems like she could be a unique character with a baseball cap. wondering if maybe she’s related to Punk Girl in any way. What’s the verdict on the other band members? 🤔

this piece! very interesting to me

so, the very first thing i noticed is zane’s eye patch being on the other eye lol

amara’s tattoos are also gone, however that might’ve been for reasons similar to the japanese cover art of the game. 

most interestingly is a point @ifalnasminiatures made and it’s that the calypso twins are actually palette swapped! you can see Troy is the one with the white hair and Ty is the one with the darker hair. which I think mayyy play into a few things we see later about the twins

we also see a tiny ship in the background. i can’t tell if that’s sanctuary-iii or the blue/yellow ship, it all blends together a lot due to the quality of the pic. but it is next to the calypso twins, which makes me want to believe it’s the blue/yellow ship we see with red markings all over it. you know this one from the mural of mayhem wallpapers

interestingly, i feel like the roses might have been a thing they just put in for the new cover art. haven’t seen hide nor hair of them across any of the pictures i’ve seen.

we got a lot of figures. out of them i most definitely recognized amara, salvador, maya, another salvador?, zer0, moze (maybe?), and axton. i thiiink one of them is maya as well, but im not 100% on that. 

i can guess why they didn’t pick this one: it’s hard to tell who’s who. a lot of these poses make the silhouettes kinda hard to see and the merging together at the bottom makes things even worse. i do think it’s interesting there are some bl2 characters on here as well, but hayder hype mentioned they very well could be placeholders, and given that i can’t make out fl4k or zane, im inclined to believe him.

there’s a new red planet which hasn’t been shown off before, looks like a gassy planet kinda like jupiter, but interestingly it has this green crack in the side?

very reminiscent of pandora’s eridium scar. i am wondering if this is because this planet had a vault opened, or if it is tied to the Eridians at all. be interesting if it was their homeworld.

also i have no idea what the symbolism is in the homeworld destroying another planet but maybe we shouldn’t think about it too hard e_e

tbh, i thought this was elpis the first time i saw it due to the cracks, but i figured elpis doesn’t have like continents across its surface, just craters. and wayyy more cracks.

so it’s probably not pandora and it’s probably not elpis.

i assume they’re maliwan? they remind me a lot of the maliwan drop ship things that fly overhead when you enter promethea

troy: missing his tattoos, blind in one eye, has a weird mark above his eyebrow. also, no metal bits!

Tyreen!!! with a red stripe across her left cheek going up to her eye??? no tattoos on her left arm as far as we can see, but that might be for marketing reasons (she’s also covering up part of her bicep). she’s also missing her coat and chains and wearing a different glove.

we also have a bunch of bl2 VHs taking up space. again i think hayder hype is right in that they’re simply placeholders. not much else to say, but 

this trend of Tyreen having red markings on her face and Troy being blind in an eye (or both) actually continues through a fair amount of these posters!!!

more cover art. one of my least favorites again... i just think it looks like the psycho is puking out the VHs. also, seems to be an older version of the psycho mask.

fl4k seems to be less rendered than the rest of the cast? like they have less detail, especially on their coat

also you can see an older looking space shuttle up at the top, which reminds me a lot of the one we use in TFTBL to get to helios. except less caravanny and more rockety

the splatter also reminds me of siren powers, with the purple and the glitter. it’s cool that it’s showing a different shot than what’s behind it. maybe a hint to siren powers because it’s sort of like a portal.

tyreen seems to still have a mark on the left side of her face, im wondering if this ties into her scars at all? it doesn’t seem as prominent as the previous red mark.

Zane seems to have an actual eye patch instead of his more high-tech eye patch, which reminds me a lot of the leaked character concepts from like january i wanna say

amara seems to be dual wielding lol i wonder if originally that was going to be one of her 3 skills but then they were like “wait salvador. wait. nisha. FUC-”

also fl4k is being obscured by this weird saturn-like planet. let them be free!

moze is missing, the saturn like planet shows up 2 times total, and that blue/yellow ship is seen again behind troy

as for the purple stuff? you already know my theory that the twins are going to be using the chemical sludge on elpis to empower their followers. it could also just be straight eridium/slag. you know, like the testing from the WEP with bloodwing and even krieg. we’ll have to see. it would be interesting if they tied krieg into the story through there.

i do lowkey think it’s chemical sludge though, because some of it is actually glowing blue in places, you can see it clearly below amara’s feet. maybe some tie in to siren powers cuz they glow the same blueish color. who knoooows not i

i really like the 4 VHs standing at the base with the elongated shadows. very dark vibes from this tho, probably not suitable for the series as a whole. i can see why maybe they decided not to do it. 

i wonder if we’ll see this giant psycho statue somewhere on pandora. it would certainly be a sight to behold. 

also i kinda wish we had cloaks like the concept art shows. cloaks are cool

more sketchy art. this one is also kinda strange, i definitely get why they decided not to go thru with it.

possibly tie-in with the ‘mother’ imagery we get on the propaganda signs across pandora.

very bl2 like, im glad they didn’t stick with this. i like that they decided to change things up

troy seems to be blind and also missing his metal implants on his face. his jacket also looks a lot different, it looks more like tyreen’s with the spikes and stuff across it. we also can’t see his metal arm at all, tho we do see his sword! which looks a lot different, im glad they decided to revamp it to be more visually interesting lol

tyreen is more interesting to me. it looks like her right arm has like a silver coating over it? unless that is a metal arm as well. she also is wearing a different kind of glove. her tattoos are missing as well, but again, it’s probably because of the cover art. her scars also definitely seem to have reached her left cheek at some point.

zane also looks a lot different, tho amara, moze, and fl4k look about the same.

another shot of the ship, this one is definitely the blue/yellow one. there’s gotta be some significance with that, right? either we’re getting skins for sanc-iii, we’re going to be painting it a new color, or it’s a different ship.

not a lot to say here. i actually like this one lol it’s very mellow and straight to the point. it’s nice that the logo is right in the middle, not at the top like most of them.

one of my favorite ones out of all of them. it’s beautiful, i really wish they had kept it. Fl4k is missing but i assume they were meant to go next to Amara? i also think it’s interesting Moze is in the front, as I took Amara to be the leader this time around. Zane is also an older design, with the eyepatch back on his left eye again (starting to think this is an aesthetic thing lol) and a black jacket instead of blue.

We see the twins on the top. Tyreen has that mark on her face again, and Troy is the same as the last few covers.

We also see Maya, Zer0, and for some reason Brick? Which is weird to me considering we have a few other characters who initially feel much for important to the story (cough Lilith cough), but I’m not complaining. 

the purple splatters again make me think this is a tie in to eridium/slag/elpis’s chemical sludge. i also like the logo being worked into the design instead of just thrown on top, i think that’s a nice detail

i couldn’t find a great shot of this poster which is a shame because it’s one of my favorites

a lot of baddies to go around on here. i love the dude up top, he reminds me of the Anchormen from the captain scarlett dlc in bl2!

i’ve been thinking and tbh i think the multiple planets thing was just an excuse for gearbox to go absolutely ham on the character designs/settings. 

i mean why should they have to hold back all their medieval armor designs for another dlc like tiny tina’s? all their pirate/sea-fairing designs for a pirate dlc? fuck it! go WILD. i think they did, anywho

there’s also this post which... tbh i can’t make out much at all. again, seems like an older psycho mask design. it looks like there are characters in the splatter on the bottom left, but it’s very hard to tell who’s who, especially at this angle and image quality lol

if we get a better shot later on i may return to this piece and try to figure things out!

we also have this piece which is giving me huge ‘Happy Together’ vibes. very trippy

moze looks like she’s using an untextured atlas gun? dunno what’s going on with that tbh lol

i really like this one too. it’s cool. i get why maybe they wanted to go a little crazier tho, feels too simplistic for the MAYHEM vibe they’re going for.

we can also see this art of what i think is Punk Girl, which is interesting to me because she looks to be doing something with her right hand. possible siren powers? maybe! 

we also get a much cooler, bigger version of that maliwan ship people were talking about, with what look to be maliwan... eye bots? surrounding it. this is soooo fuckin awesome to me because it reminds me of a sailboat. and airships are fucking COOL

but something interesting is that i don’t think this ship was actually always maliwan

we got an A in the back here... for Atlas? i mean... you know it’s coming... the colors would match up. Yeahhhhhhh...

more interesting is that it actually looks like maliwan covered it up with their flags/tarps. i would not be surprised if this was claimed by maliwan possibly during the takeover.

im pretty convinced this is something on elpis mostly because the DAHL logo on the side. which again, they were on pandora yes but they were mining for iridium not eridium. if this was pandoran pumping stations, that would be hyperion.

i do think this is elpis. and i do think the twins are using the chemical sludge that mutated the lost legion into those fake siren things to give their followers superpowers.”holy holy holy” indeed.

this, plus the rakk wings on the psycho in the mask of mayhem are just convincing me more and more

any predictions about s8? 👀

Ohoho! I’ve got loads! I actually set up a tag for s8 hype talk if you want to read my more in-depth predictions as they come to me. I’m gonna use this ask to talk about some of the stuff I probably won’t meta about, not that I wouldn’t love to talk about any of this if you see something that peaks your interest, but most of this list is hunches or straight-up hopes and wishes. Buckle up, it’s tinhat time! 

Honerva Redemption Arc- yes, I’m still holding out hope for this. Ask anyone I talk to regularly- I’m very intrigued by Honerva and want to see some amazing stuff from her. If she does have a redemption arc, I don’t think it will be anything near traditional and likeliest would be upon death. But given we’ve seen her grow from unashamedly brutal to questioning herself and her loyalties to prioritizing her desires and pursuing life-long goals, I believe there’s room for her to be morally complicated. 

Lotor Returns- I don’t know how because there are so many options, but my primary reason for believing he will be back is because there was no finality in his last s6 scene. I’ve got another ask I’m working on right now that will talk more about this. 

Allura and Altea- Allura has been holding onto her memories of Altea and in a way living in the past. But now with a chance to rebuild her culture with her people, Allura has the opportunity to move forward and forge new memories and traditions. Altea is not a place, Altea is a people. 

The White Lion- This is one of my biggest crack theories, but I think Honerva might have stolen the White Lion from Oriande. Even if it’s not true, we’re definitely going to see more to do with magic / alchemy in s8. 

Multi-mecha fight(s)- this one is straight up hopes and wishes. I would love to see a 3-way fight between Voltron, Sincline, and Komarcha (lmfao the mystery Altean Komar mecha needed a name). Plus we’ve got Atlas (and I hope an army of Komarchas) to consider as well. 

MFE-Ares Upgrade- They’re battery life was a plot point multiple times in s7. If those ships are going to be prominent fighters they’re going to need to resolve the need to return to the Atlas mid-battle.
